Ch 2-The Spy Who Loved Me

Bruce was not sure who he disliked the most, the supermodels and rich daddy's little brats who wanted him for his money and looker that he had to wine and dine on the regular or the top actresses and pop princesses that wanted him to be a powercouple hashtag that he had to take out to the club.

When Octopussy premiered he was 17 teen year old kid and it happened to fast that the same streets that he could walk unharassed in Japan in Friday became flooded with people who crowded him on Monday, the weekend the movie came out.

What was worse where the fanatical fans and stalkers that came after that, gorgeous the lot of them and as crazy as they where pretty, that was the downside and the fact that he could hardly walk anywhere as Bruce without attracting a crowd.

The good news is that a prima donna actor was the perfect cover up for him coming to work late, leaving early, missing for days and being unreachable all night.

"Here you are, a martini shaken not stirred from the ladies at the table next to the window." The Bartender said as he put it next to the other half a dozen martinis that had been sent to him.

Bruce had enough at that and he made a call and then signed a check to a staff member of the hotel where this event was being held.

"I now own this hotel and I'll give you a big fat raise if you stop serving me any drinks from the customers."

"Certainly Mr B...I mean Mr Wayne." The bartender said and Bruce resisted the urge to smash his head on the bar.

Lost in thoughts his mind travelled back to an event years ago where he was actioned during a bachelor bid where he met her, Selina..

"1.000 dollars!"

"10.000 dollars!"

Another voice bid and Bruce immediately cut off the bid master's reply with:

"20.000."

"30.000"

"50.000" Bruce was becoming irritated now he had enough with the divas who splashed cash for 15 minutes of attention on Hollywood and was in no mood for another rich girl on the prowl for a husband, or worse A lister looking for publicity, and even worse the women who all where on his tail about appearing in his next film, all he wanted was a nice quiet night with some steak for dinner before he went on patrol.

"100.000" The woman's voice replied.

"1.000.000."

Bruce knew from instinct that there was to be another big bid so in irritation he grabbed the microphone from the bid master and said:

"Lady, I will flatten you with my wallet!" He threatened in good humor with his playboy persona even though under the surface he was fuming with rage.

"I'm not that kind of girl." The voice said and stepped forward and whatever anger Bruce had he lost it as he saw her.

"You'd have to take me to dinner and a movie first."

"Y..yes of course miss.."

"Kyle, Selina Kyle." She said with a mischievous wink that did make Bruce grin at her joke.

Back in the present Bruce's thoughts where broken by the sprinkler going off and making everyone leave the building.

"Someone apparently triggered the fire alarm...such a tragedy, the gala cancelled." Bruce told Alfred with glee as he moved to the limo but not before he gave a instinctive look to the rooftops where he could see the shadow of a familiar shape that he knew had something to do with this.

"Yes, everything's fine Isis. I just needed to check up on the spy that once loved me." Catwoman said to her worried cat on her shoulder as she gave a look at Bruce Wayne as he faded away in the city.

Bruce was the only man of her old social circle that hadn't shunned her when her identity as Catwoman came out or anytime after that. Holiday cards, invitations to come visit, even invites, all dried up from everyone but Bruce.

Good Ol' Bruce, why couldn't it had been Batman?

Selina thought as a familiar shadow fluttered above her.

"You're latte."

"Had to change into my work clothes." Batman said as they began their familiar chase.
