A/N: This isn't a remake, more a "What If" kind of thing, or AU if you want. Don't get me wrong, I still do like my original, but I want to change it up without it affecting my other stories that are tied with it. Now this chapter and most of the next are the same as the original story. However it will be different after that.

Prologue: A Trip to a New World

[Royal Woods, Michigan]

It was a typical weekend in the Loud house during summer vacation. The farther Lynn Sr. was cooking lunch, the mother Rita was keeping the house clean. Lori was texting her boyfriend Bobby, Leni was making some sort of clothing. Luna was listening to music, Luan was working on a new comedy routine. Lynn was playing soccer in the backyard, Lucy was writing poetry in her coffin. Lola was having a tea party, Lana was fixing Lola's electric toy car, and Lily was wandering around the house. However Lisa and Lincoln were busy with something else in Lisa's room. A few days ago Lincoln had told Lisa about a dream he had, one where Lisa built a device that took him to a parallel world where he had all brothers. This had piqued Lisa's interest and decided to create such a device. Now she had finished a prototype of it and wanted Lincoln to test it.

"Lisa I don't want to see that world again, the dream was bad enough" Lincoln whined as his sister attached the device to his wrist. It was a little larger than a watch, it was a square metal box with a couple buttons on it.

"Fear not male sibling unit, I have no desire to send you to a world like that" Lisa replied flatly. "What I want is to send you to a completely different world, one where things are vastly different. If this works, then I can send you there and back multiple times to collect samples from that world for my studies."

"Wait! So you mean like a place with magic, wizards, and stuff?" Lincoln asked in a hopeful tone. "Or a world with real superheroes like Ace Savvy? Or were people living in space or other planets?"

"Not quite what I had in mind, but I suppose that is a possibility" She replied with a roll of her eyes. "I was aiming for worlds with unique plant life, different radiation in the atmosphere, or possibly different elements than our own. However I suppose there is a chance you could be sent to a world like the one you mention."

"So how does this work?" The young boy asked while pointing to the device on his wrist.

"It's simple really" the little genius started to explain. "The blue button will analyze the environment around you and inform you as such. By that I mean things like temperature, oxygen levels, radiation, time and anything else that might be important to know. The red button is the one that will send you back home."

"Cool" he replied while marching in place with excitement. However a thought just then occurred to him. "It's not going to hurt being transported or my body not going to change into one of the inhabitants of that world right?"

"No to both of those questions my male sibling unit" she replied without hesitation. "I assure you that it won't hurt and you will retain your current form." Lisa then started typing on her computer that was linked to the device. "Now remember this is a test, when you get to the new world press the blue button to record the data. After you have done so, then press the red button and return home. No exploring, no conversing with any of the inhabitants, and try to stay hidden to not draw attention to yourself. Oh one more thing, while you won't feel any pain you will be slightly dazed after being transported."

With that Lisa pushed a button on her computer and Lincoln was engulfed in a bright light and disappeared. The light had drawn the attention of the other Loud children and they went to see what happened.

"Lisa what did you do this time?" Lori asked with annoyance and suspicion.

"Fear not eldest sibling unit" the 4 year old genius replied. "That light was nothing dangerous, it was simply me teleporting our brother to another world."

"WHAT?!" All of the other Loud sisters screamed at once.

"What's wrong with you dude?" Luna asked in disbelief. "Bring our bro back now!"

"Don't worry" Lisa replied with a wave of her hand and roll of her eyes. "Any second now Lincoln will return, he just has to push the red button."

Seconds turned into a minute and there was still no Lincoln. "Well where is he?" Lola asked while tapping her foot.

"Give me a second," Lisa replied before typing on the computer. "The device is working, I'm still getting a signal, data is still being sent, so why…" Lisa's eyes went wide before she face palmed. "...Dang it."

"What?" Luan asked in concern.

"In my rush to test my device" the young genius started to reply with embarrassment and shame. "It seems like I forgot to connect the button that would bring our brother home to the actual device. If he did push the button, which he most likely had, it would have done nothing."

"What's going on up here?" Lynn Sr. asked with his wife beside him. Both parents became concerned when things became very quiet. All of the girls told them what happened and Lisa informed them of Lincoln's dream, which in turn led to her making the device to send the only boy of the family to another world.

"Lisa, how could you do something so dangerous?!" Rita asked with frustration and worry. "You just sent your brother to an unknown location, not knowing what danger could be there."

"I did make sure that the world he was sent to had breathable oxygen and low enough radiation levels to not cause harm" the 4 year old weakly defended with her head down in shame.

"That's not the point" Lynn Sr. countered her argument. "You might have sent him into a den of hungry dangerous animals, or into a battlefield during a war!"

"I didn't think about that," she admitted shamefully. "However, fear not since I may have a way to bring him back." The family was filled with hope at that statement. "The device Lincoln is wearing is working, since it's sending data it also confirms that he is okay. With this information, the good news is I should be able to build a machine that can take Lincoln's signal and transport him back home."

"What's the bad news?" Lucy asked unsure if she wanted the answer.

"The bad news is, it's going to take a long time to build such a machine due to the parts I'll need," Lisa replied flatly.

"How long do you think?" Lynn Sr. asked with worry.

"At least a year," she replied sadly. "Maybe longer if I have trouble acquiring the parts. This also brings up the issue about school for Lincoln. Since people would be suspicious if he didn't show up for school, I suggest we tell the school that Lincoln is overseas for an educational purpose and will miss this year."

"Will that work?" Luna asked with hesitation.

"Yes as long as our parental units talk to Principal Huggins before the school year starts" Lisa replied as she started to design the machine to bring her brother back. "They will also want to have us send school work to Lincoln so he isn't behind when he returns. I can finish them and we can send them back to the school so he doesn't fall behind."

"I don't like this plan…" Rita said with worry. "...But we really don't have a choice. Lisa started working on the machine to bring Lincoln home, but we'll discuss your punishment later. Everyone, we can't tell anyone about what happened to Lincoln. We'll have a family meeting to come up with a complete story of what to tell friends and family. For now just go and try to have fun."

The Loud parents then left, with them looking both worried and scared. Lisa continued to work on her computer while the other girls went back to what they were doing, with a lot of less enthusiasm. Only one thought was in all of their heads, it was of their brother and wondering if he was okay.

[With Lincoln]

Lincoln was sitting on a field of lustrous grass while looking up at the beautiful blue sky. He turned his gaze from the sky to the device on his wrist, he pushed the red button again. Nothing happened, he smiled and returned to look towards the sky.

"I suppose I should be worried about this thing not working," Lincoln said to himself while looking at the sky. "But it's hard to be worried when this place is so peaceful. Besides, Lisa is probably fixing the problem right now and I'll be home in no time." Lincoln then laid on his back and rested his head on his arms. "So for now I'll just enjoy the peace and quiet."
