Chapter 11 - Splishy Splash lets have a Battle!
The sun was just rising as they made their way to their next destination. They had left early in the morning, eager to reach the next city where the next Gym battle awaited both Ashi and her brother.
"Man what a beautiful day!" Toshi's face was lit up with a radiant smile as he walked alongside his friends. The crisp, morning air filled him with a sense of exhilaration, and he couldn't help but feel alive. As they packed up their belongings and continued down the gravel path towards Cerulean City, Toshi couldn't contain his excitement. They were getting closer to their goal with each passing step.
"I can practically taste that badge in my hand!" Toshi declared confidently, convinced that his team would have no trouble winning this time. Ashi couldn't help but smile at his enthusiasm, knowing that some of their companions were also familiar with the type of Pokémon the Gym was known for. Everyone seemed eager to reach their destination, except for one.
"Are you sure we should go this way?" Misty's voice carried a hint of trepidation as she spoke up from the back of the group. Sora and Aratiri could sense her unease and exchanged curious glances, wondering what was making the water trainer so nervous.
"Misty, is everything alright?" Ashi asked, noticing the girl's jittery behavior since they had set off that morning.
"Well, it's just...um...are you sure we want to take this route? Maybe we should go a different way instead. I spotted a perfect spot for a picnic not too far from here," Misty suggested, trying to mask her anxiety with enthusiasm.
"But we just had breakfast," Brock pointed out.
"Then let's have brunch!" Misty insisted. "I'm sure it's already midday somewhere."
Raihan leaned in to whisper to Leon, sensing something odd about Misty's behavior. "Is it just me or is she acting a little...kooky today?"
"I noticed it too. She's been on edge all morning," Leon replied, his keen observation skills picking up on Misty's strange behavior. They were not the only ones who had noticed, as Ashi's sharp hearing caught their conversation and she could see the rest of their friends also wondering about Misty's sudden change in demeanor.
Steven spoke up, trying to redirect the group's attention. "As tempting as that sounds, we should consider that we may not have enough food to last us until our next stop if we keep stopping along the way."
Ashi and Brock had already used up the food supplies in their backpacks, with only a few granola bars and energy drinks remaining. They needed to make sure they had enough food for their Pokémon as well, as they would need to feed everyone in their group.
"It's best if we keep going and reach the next town by early afternoon, at the latest," Ashi agreed with Steven.
"Yeah, I mean c'mon the next gym is over there so it like our mom always say, it's Rock Throw two Pidgeys with one Geodude!" Toshi chimed in eagerly, his eyes glinting with determination to reach their destination and earn their next gym badges. Ashi could sense that Misty was hesitant about something, but with their tight schedule, they couldn't afford any delays.
Was there something about that place that unsettled her? Ashi wondered, careful not to pry too much. It wasn't right to ask intrusive questions unless they became a problem down the road.
Raihan joined their conversation, his hands casually behind his head. "Come on, Mist," he urged. "Don't you think we should stock up on supplies and get our Pokemon checked out after going through all that trouble to get past those mountains?" He turned to the group, trying to get everyone's attention. "I say we put it to a vote. Raise your hand if you want to go to Cerulean City."
Toshi, Brock, Raihan, and Steven all raised their hands in agreement. Ashi noticed Steven looking apologetically at Misty, but he believed it made more sense to keep moving forward and gather supplies in the next town than waste time trekking with limited food. Ashi and Leon remained neutral for the sake of the group, although they secretly shared the same mindset as Steven.
"Those that opposed?" Misty immediately thrust her hand out, hoping for some moral support from Ashi and Leon, but it was unanimous since it was four to one.
"All right then, let's get moving!" Everyone readjusted their bags and quickly picked up the pace with Misty reluctantly following behind. But not one to give up easily, Misty kept trying to convince them to change their minds.
"Geez Misty, why are you so against going towards Cerulean? Don't you know the rumors about that place?" Toshi couldn't help but question her efforts, even though they had already held a vote and it was clear that they were all in agreement.
"But you can't! I mean don't you know it's full of scary ghost Pokemon!" Misty exaggerated while making scary faces, causing everyone to exchange incredulous looks. Ashi maintained a blank expression as she knew she could handle any potential threats with ease as did the others who didn't think would be an issue for them.
Leon chimed in with a reassuring smile, "We'll be fine. We can handle ourselves if we do encounter any Pokémon, so there's no need to worry."
He and everyone went to walk back down the trail, but Misty was adamant and tried once again to change their minds despite this being a done deal. It was getting a little annoying given how persistent she was in trying to make them head elsewhere.
"But what about Vermilion City? It's right on the water and there are plenty of cool Pokemon. Plus, you can watch all the fancy yachts pull into the harbor, and there's a park on a hill where you can watch the sunset. It's so romantic!" She directed this at three individuals hoping this would be enough to convince them otherwise. It did seem very enticing to the two Galarian and Hoenn trainers, but seeing that it might take days to get there and they needed to restock on their goods before heading towards that spot.
Ashi had to give it to Misty that she really did not want to go to this town even though it was the closest on the map.
"Misty, as much as I'd love to go to Vermillion right this very moment, it's important we consider all of us here. Like we said before, we need to go down there not only to gain our badges but also to get our essentials together so we don't have to worry about being out of stock in the process."
"Yeah, what sis says is true. Duh, I mean c'mon now!" Toshi then had a questionable look on his face. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you don't want us to go to Cerulean City, so what gives!" Toshi had his eyes on the orangette who was now feeling everyone looking at her with a questioning stare and were all waiting for her response.
"Well um, ah you see—" Misty was stammering, even when everyone was looking at her and couldn't help shouting while red in the face, "IT'S nunya."
Toshi blinked confusedly, "Nunya, what's that?" Misty beckoned the boy to come closer and then unable to help herself as she yelled directly into the boy's ear, causing his heightened Dragonslaying hearing to wince at the loud tone she threw into his face, "IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS IS WHAT!"
Toshi winced as he pulled back, rubbing his ringing ear. He waited for the sound to subside before turning to face Misty, ready to yell back at her with equal intensity. "Wow, really? Because it kind of seems like it does, considering you're being a real pain in the—" But before he could finish his sentence, Ashi swatted him on the head and dragged him off to the side.
"Excuse us for a moment," Ashi said to their companions. "I need to have a little heart-to-heart with my little brother here. It won't take long, just a couple of minutes." Without waiting for a response, she pulled Toshi out of earshot and getting them to be where no one can be able to pick up what she was about to say and began to berate him for his earlier actions. It was clear that Ashi was not happy with how he had been behaving and she was not hesitant to let him know.
"Honestly, Toshi, haven't Mom and I told you more than once not to butt into other people's personal business? I'm sure Misty has her reasons and we shouldn't pester her about them. How would you feel if you were in her place and they started badgering you?" Ashi scolded.
Not to mention that she had sensed his spiked mana as he prepared to retaliate against Misty had she not intervened. She understood that being yelled at in close range could cause pain to her sensitive hearing, but that didn't excuse him for almost letting his magic come forward, even if it wasn't intentional. As Dragonslayers, they had to be extra careful with their emotions and avoid using their powers recklessly.
"I know you don't like being reminded of this, but we have to be responsible with our abilities," Ashi continued. "I get it, but you have to learn not to give in to your temper. If every time someone aggravates me and I used my Dragonslayer magic, we wouldn't have a home for us at all!" She reminded him of the dire consequences and potential dangers of what they might face and how this could hurt not just them but their mother as well if brought to light.
(If Papa were here, I'm sure he'd be telling Toshi the same thing. It's important that we keep cool heads and not just give in to our dragon-like instinct to strike at the enemy even if they're just kids who don't know any better.)"I only say this because I don't want anything to happen to either of us, especially you," Ashi said softly. Toshi looked at her with contrition and nodded in understanding. "I'll try to do better next time, I promise."
Ashi wrapped her arms around Toshi in a comforting hug. "I have faith in you, Toshi. Just remember that we're all in this together and we need to support each other," she whispered into his ear. Toshi nodded against her shoulder and she released him with a gentle smile. "Now let's go back and join the others. Our journey awaits us."
As they made their way back to their group, they noticed that one person was missing - Misty. "Where did she go?" Ashi asked Leon, furrowing her brow.
He let out a sigh before responding, "Misty just decided to wander off without telling anyone where she was going or when she would be back." The Galar Monarch admitted that while Ashi was having her conversation with Toshi, he had also wanted to speak with Misty but she had abruptly announced that she needed some fresh air and left without another word. The rest of the group had hoped that giving her some space would help, but after waiting for five minutes with no sign of her return, they were starting to worry.
"I mean, this is getting ridiculous. What's her deal anyways?!" Raihan grumbled, growing increasingly frustrated by Misty's behavior. It seemed like she was purposely trying to delay their trip to Cerulean City.
"Let's give her some more time and hope she comes back," Steven suggested calmly, trying to diffuse the tension. Another five minutes passed and everyone was becoming agitated. Finally, Raihan spoke up again. "Okay, this is enough. I say we continue on without her."
This suggestion caused conflicting emotions among the group. On one hand, Misty had left without letting them know and it wasn't fair for them to wait around for her. But on the other hand, leaving without her could potentially cause her to get lost trying to find them.
In the midst of this debate, Leon had an idea. "How about we split into two groups? One group stays here to wait for Misty while the other continues on to Cerulean City. We can all meet up at the Pokemon Center later," he suggested.
This proposal was met with some positive responses and soon the group split into two. Leon, Raihan, and Steven volunteered to stick around here in case the orangette comes back. Raihan hadn't been too thrill to be put in the former as he rather be chillaxing instead but Leon roped him into this and was letting his frustration show the entire time. Then the Ketchum siblings with Brock alongside them took to head towards the city while making sure everyone remembers where to meet up when they do. "We'll let you know when we find her," Leon assured them before they parted ways.
Ashi felt guilty leaving the other behind, but sure they'll catch up when Misty is with them then could move forward from this situation. "It's just a minor setback," Ashi reassured herself, determined to put it all behind them once Misty returned. Right now, their priority was getting to the city and taking care of their Pokemon, as well as restocking their supplies for the journey ahead. As they walked towards the town, Toshi tried to distract himself by discussing their next move with Ashi.
"Maybe you should go first at the Gym," Toshi suggested. "You let me take the lead in Pewter, so it's only fair." Ashi agreed, thinking it would be a good opportunity for Toshi to observe her battle and learn from her tactics.
Brock also approved of this plan, noticing how well the siblings worked together and were willing to step back for each other's benefit. He remembered his own stepmom's teachings - knowing one's enemy was crucial in strategizing for a battle.
"Let's head to the Pokemon Center before we do anything else," Ashi said, turning towards Sora and Aratiri who nodded in agreement. They entered the bustling area, marveling at how lively and busy it was compared to their previous location. However, as they strolled down the street, they noticed a large crowd gathered outside a store with police cruisers blocking off access.
Intrigued and curious, Toshi couldn't resist going closer to get a better look at the ongoing investigation. Ashi and Brock followed after him, cautioning him to be careful. But before they knew it, Toshi had already reached the front of the crowd and was questioning one of the bystanders about what had happened.
"Excuse me sir, do you know what's going on here?" Toshi asked eagerly. The man turned to face the trio, responding with a grim expression. "There was a burglary last night," he explained.
"A burglary, huh?" They all turn their attention to the building itself, seeing the sign indicating it was some sort of mechanical repair shop. "What do you suppose they could have taken from this place?" Toshi wondered aloud. Ashi and Brock were thinking along the same lines as well. It must have been something major to warrant such a large police presence; there was no way this many people would gather for a stolen blender or a beat up TV. It had to be something much more serious that caught their attention.
While they were having this open discussion among themselves, another person piped in and couldn't help asking, "What do you know about burglars, huh?" They turned to see was Officer Jenny looking at them with suspicion in her eyes as she heard them talking and couldn't help going towards the trio.
"Huh what?" Toshi's response was a stammered jumble of words, thrown off guard by the officer standing before them. She bore a striking resemblance to the Jenny they had met in Viridian City, that was miles away from their current location. Toshi remembered their earlier conversation about identical Nurse Joys working in every Pokemon Center across regions, but he hadn't considered if that also applied to the Jennys here as well. It was like there were doppelgängers roaming the world, all sharing the same face and profession.
Even Ashi's Pokemon seemed unsettled by the situation, with Sora recalling a movie he had seen about a town community filled with creepy robots after replacing the wives with duplicates. He wondered if this was a similar scenario. Or perhaps it was more like the film about a time-traveling killer Pokerobot set on destroying humanity. The thought sent a shiver down Litten's spine and Aratiri noticed and Sora who saw to explain this to the now rapidly paling Pikachu when hearing his open theory. The two quickly turn their focus back on the interaction between their trainer and this 'Jenny' person and both thinking that if she turned out to be a murderous cyborg, Aratiri and Sora were prepared to short-circuit and melt her into a pile of goo before she could even say 'Hasta la Vista baby!'
Ashi did all the talking, explaining that they had just arrived from Pewter City via Mt. Moon. Despite her words, the officer still eyed them with suspicion. "How can I be sure you're telling the truth? I've never seen you around here before."
"Can we show you our identification? That way you can see for yourself who we are," Ashi said, turning to Brock and her brother and motioning for them to pull out their IDs. She also took out her Pokédex to show the woman. "Here's my trainer's license and my brother's, and Brock is a former sub at the Pewter City Gym. We were just passing through on our way to the Center when we saw what was happening."
The officer double-checked everything before handing back their IDs. "It looks like everything checks out, but you have to understand, this is no ordinary robbery. It's suspicious having strangers suddenly appear claiming to know the truth."
Toshi couldn't help asking what made this different from your typical robberies. "They didn't take any money or valuable items, but there was one thing that didn't add up - a super X vacuum with attachable hoses."
"That is odd," The Dragonslayer commented, but before anyone could ask more questions, other officers on scene began pushing back the crowd and telling them to leave it to the professionals. Ashi asked for directions to the Center, and the officer who saw to make up for her earlier suspicion told them where to go.
"It's just a few blocks down that way, hard to miss!" Following her directions, Ashi and the others easily found the place and went inside to drop off their Pokémon and rest for a bit in the waiting area. The group felt like it wouldn't be much longer till the rest of their friends showed up here at the designated location they promised earlier that afternoon.
Toshi leaned back in his seat, resting his head against his hands and staring at the white ceiling. "Can you believe something like that happened?" He looked over at Brock and his sister, Brock busy making a grocery list of essential items they needed while Ashi read a worn paperback with her Pokemon Sora and Aratiri sitting in her lap. The rest of their Pokemon had finished getting treated and were good to go.
"I mean, why do you think someone would want those things anyway?" Toshi asked. His sister shrugged, finishing a chapter before putting a bookmark in place and turning her attention to him. "I honestly have no idea, but I think it's best to let the authorities handle this matter." Brock agreed, unable to come up with any logical explanation for a giant vacuum that didn't seem too far-fetched.
They shifted their attention elsewhere and chatted while waiting in the open lobby. They had no clue when the others would arrive, so they decided it might be best for Ashi and Brock to head to the Pokemart to gather their supplies while Toshi stayed behind to wait for the others. Ashi's brother had no problem with this plan, as the market wasn't too far away and they could easily walk back to the Center once they were finished.
Ashi and Brock split the long list of items between them, with Ashi's Pokemon helping her find everything on the shelves and Aratiri knocking items into her waiting hands. By the time they finished, both Ashi and Brock had full carts and headed to separate registers to pay for all of their items. Ashi made sure to stock up on potions and Pokeballs as well since they were running low.
(This should keep us fed for a couple weeks,) Ashi thought to herself as she remembered she still had some pure uncut evolution stones left from earlier. She could share them with Toshi later if they got hungry, but only when no one else was watching. It would be hard to explain why they were snacking on stones.
"Okay, I think we're all set," Ashi said as she headed back to the Center with her supplies. Brock had told her he had some other things to take care of and promised to meet them later once he was done.
As she entered the Center, she saw Toshi still there but looking quite bored. "Is there anything to do around here?" he asked. The passing Nurse overheard him and offered a suggestion. "Why not go watch the Sensational Water Show?"
"The what now?" both Toshi and Ashi asked in confusion. Joy went on to explain the synchronized water theater that was popular in the area and handed them two tickets. "I was supposed to go with a friend, but unfortunately she got caught up with work. I've already seen it before, so why don't you two go check it out?"
The siblings debated amongst themselves, openly discussing whether to wait for their friends at the Center for an unknown amount of time or go see the water show starting in five minutes. Ashi suggested leaving a note at the front desk and giving their friends a clue about where they were going. They asked the Nurse for directions, and she pointed them to the back of their tickets. To their surprise, the show was taking place at the Cerulean City Gym.
"Seriously?" Ashi couldn't believe they would be having a show at the gym, but it also piqued her curiosity and desire to learn more about the place and its leader.
"So this gym has a water theme? Does that mean they use water Pokemon in battles?" Toshi asked his sister as they made their way towards the location. "Yes, I believe so. It would give them an advantage to have their Pokemon in their natural element," Ashi replied, having done some research on gyms before.
"In that case, I should use my Shinx, right? But then what if something happens and I need another Pokemon?" Toshi pondered out loud, eliminating his fire-type Pokemon from consideration due to all the water and his own egg that had yet to hatch.
"Don't worry, you'll come up with a strategy. And I'll be there to support you," Ashi reassured her brother. As they approached the stadium with a Dewgong sign hanging above it, Ashi noticed how crowded it was. They showed their tickets at the booth and hurried inside, trying to find a spot that wasn't too crowded for them and their two Pokemon companions.
As Ashi and Toshi settled into their seats, their Pokémon companions Litten and Pikachu took their places on their heads to get a better view. The lights dimmed, and the audience erupted into cheers as the show began. Water splashed all around the stadium as a group of elegant Water-type Pokémon swam and performed in the central pool. Among them were familiar Kanto water-types like Goldeens, Poliwags, and even a Seel. But all attention was soon drawn to the diving board as a spotlight shone down on three graceful swimmers who waved to the adoring audience.
"Wow, look at that!" Toshi marveled at how high the diving board was, wondering if he could ever muster up the courage to jump off it. But these swimmers had no fear as they leaped into the water with practiced ease, synchronized with the other Pokémon in the pool. Aratiri sat starstruck on Toshi's head and assuming Sora was just as captivated. Suddenly, Ashi felt an urgent need to use the restroom and quickly let Sora down before telling Toshi she would be right back.
"Save my seat for me," she said to Sora, assuming he would want to continue watching with Aratiri and her brother. But to her surprise, both Pikachu and Litten followed her out of curiosity or maybe they needed to go too. They maneuvered through the crowd and followed a sign pointing towards the restrooms.
After taking care of business and washing her hands, Ashi stepped out only to find Aratiri waiting but no sign of Sora. "Hey, where did Sora go?" Pikachu noticed Litten looking agitated and remembered seeing him walk off towards some stairs. They all headed in that direction, eventually coming across a large aquarium filled with colorful fish swimming about. Sora was sitting on the railing watching them intently, his tail swishing back and forth with a bit of drool hanging from his mouth. Ashi couldn't help but smile at the sight before joining him with Pikachu also climbing up to sit on the handrails as well.
"Do you see anything you like?" she asked, knowing he must be envisioning how delicious those fish would taste, whether fried, blackened, grilled, or raw with a little wasabi on it.
"Can we get some sushi afterwards? I could really go for some sashimi and spicy tuna rolls right now," Litten purred, still in full predator mode. The Dragonslayer thought as much but suggested they wait for the others and discuss their options together.
But suddenly, Ashi noticed something pink and robust lurking nearby. Pikachu and Litten followed her gaze to a wiggly pink object with a yellow tip just off to the side. Aratiri and Sora moved in closer to investigate, and Sora even pressed his paw down on it to make it stop wiggling. But then, without warning, whatever was attached to the other end surged forward and smacked into both Pokémon, taking them by surprise.
"ACK!/Pika!" The force of whatever had landed on them knocked the wind out of both Litten and Pikachu.
"Get off me, you big oaf!" Litten's protests were muffled by the weight of Slowpoke, who had landed on top of them. Ashi quickly moved to lift the Pokemon off, relieved to see her partners were okay. But before she could say anything, they heard the sound of footsteps approaching. A young man appeared in front of them, looking out of breath from chasing after his Slowpoke.
"Oh dear, there you are! I've been searching everywhere for you," he said, catching his breath. He was a well-built young man with spiky pale blond hair that fell down to his shoulders. Bright orange eyes stood out against his features, which were enhanced by white-painted eyelashes. He wore a white shirt with rolled-up sleeves that revealed a light green tribal tattoo on his left forearm and a small circular pendant hanging around his neck. His outfit was completed with dark capris and two-toned shoes. A blue bandana was wrapped around his forehead.
"Do you always have to run wild when my back is turned? I can't take my eyes off you for a second without you causing trouble," he scolded the Slowpoke, who just looked back at him with a dopey expression.
"I'm guessing this one belongs to you?" He then turned to Ashi and smiled sheepishly, "Well, yes and no. I'm taking care of this one temporarily for the time being. But its obsession with playing hide-and-seek causes quite a ruckus. Even when I tell it to stay put with its sibling while I work."
He let out a weary sigh but Ashi could see how much he cared for the Slowpoke as he affectionately rubbed its head. "It's ironic, really. This species is known for being slow, but this one has an endless bounds of energy that can't be contained."
"Wow, that's quite something," Ashi commented as she took a closer look at the Slowpoke in his arms. She noticed a few differences from the Kanto breed she was familiar with. Its forehead and tail were bright yellow instead of white.
Ashi couldn't help to inquire out loud, "Is this one from a different region, it certainly seem like it is?" The young man nodded, "Yes, actually, from the Galar which I went some months ago on a business venture. It's a funny story, really. While traveling through this region, my Pokemon met one of its brethren as we were trekking to meet a certain person and before I knew it, they had laid some eggs. The rest are with the person since he saw that they belonged to his Slowpokes, but he allowed me to take home two for myself. This little one hatched not too long ago."
He couldn't help but find the newborn Slowpoke endearing, despite its curious and mischievous nature. Its older sibling, on the other hand, preferred to sleep and didn't do much activity unlike the one Ashi was holding for its proper trainer.
The tall blond turned back to Ashi and nodded in gratitude, "Thank you once again for helping catch this one before it could scamper off." Even now it was trying to wriggle free and he struggled to maintain his firm grip on the restless Pokemon.
"Oh, it's no problem. Besides, I'm just glad I happened to be at the right place at the right time." Ashi then extended her hand to him and introduced herself, "I'm Ashi Ketchum." She watched as he adjusted his hold on the Slowpoke, cradling it over his shoulder like a tired toddler while using his free hand to shake hers.
"I'm Cade D. Williams. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." The young man then turned to Sora and Aratiri, "Ah, so you're also a trainer? Where do you hail from? And I must admit, I've seen a few with Pikachu's before but your other one…" He looked at Sora with keen interest while Litten stood beside his trainer. Cade gave him an odd stare as if trying to decipher something.
"I was born and raised in Kanto, from a small town called Pallet just a few hours away." Ashi bent down to pet her two Pokemon's heads, eliciting purrs from both Aratiri and Sora. "This is Aratiri and Sora, Sora's a Litten from the Alola region but he was hatched here in a forest of Kanto. He's been my long-time companion since I was a child."
Cade was surprised by this information, "That's extraordinary! It's evident that you take good care of your Pokemon."
"Thank you," Ashi said as she saw Cade settle the rambunctious Pokemon before turning to the teenager. "I assume you must have a reason for being here, other than to watch the show."
"Well, actually, I do." She then explained how she and her brother were starting their journey after receiving their trainer licenses and were collecting badges to register for the Pokemon League. Cade listened intently but also noticed that she wasn't telling him the whole story. "So you're here to challenge for the Cascade Badge, right?" Ashi nodded but then hesitated.
Ashi had been visibly worried about something for a while now, and Cade could tell. He asked her if she wanted to talk about it. "It's just that we're trying to strategize which Pokemon to use in our battles," Ashi admitted. "I have two electric-types, but my brother also has one of the same species on his team. And since he'll probably have his match after mine, I'm worried because..."
"Because you think the gym leader will pick up on what to expect in your brother's battle and use it against him, right?" Cade guessed accurately. Ashi let out a sigh as she gazed back at the fish swimming peacefully. "I know that I can give my all and win, but I also fear that I may be giving away valuable information that will put him at a greater disadvantage." She wished she could decline her brother's offer to go first, but since he was being considerate and might learn from observing, the same could be said for their opponent who would have a clear advantage from the start.
Cade looked at her with understanding and used one hand to pat her shoulder while keeping a firm hold on the Slowpoke in his grasp. "I know exactly how you feel. As siblings, we want what's best for each other, but it can be difficult not to overshadow them."
"I have a younger sister, she's the youngest among four sisters," Cade continued. "Sometimes things can get overwhelming in our family dynamic. I mean, I've grown up surrounded by girls and I can tell that she sometimes feels like she can't measure up to our older sisters in everything they do. So I try to remind her that she doesn't need to be perfect; just being herself is enough and she shouldn't let anyone else stand in the way of her dreams. Right now, she's not here and the last time we spoke, she said she was doing okay. But I still worry and wonder if she's taking care of herself."
"Because that's what we do for our loved ones," Ashi interjected, understandingly. Cade smiled in agreement. "Yes, family is family. No matter where you are, that bond is always with you."
"She's lucky to have you as a brother," Ashi said sincerely, causing Cade to nod in appreciation. "And your brother is lucky to have you by his side. Don't doubt his abilities; with your support, he can overcome any obstacles that come his way."
As they spoke, the Slowpoke started getting antsy. Sensing that it wanted to escape, Cade quickly led Ashi towards a room that appeared to be the main office. Inside, there was a pen set up with a small pool for Slowpokes to swim in. One of the Kanto Slowpokes was napping when they arrived, and Ashi helped put the other one in with its sibling before they rushed out of the office and closed the door behind them.
Cade turned to Ashi and thanked her for her help. "I really appreciate this, and I feel like I owe you one."
Ashi shook her head, "No need, it was the least I could do." Still, Cade felt a sense of indebtedness and suggested, "How about we take your mind off things and have a Pokemon battle?" Ashi blinked in surprise at his suggestion, but thought it might help clear her thoughts if she had something else to focus on. "I suppose it wouldn't hurt." With a smile, Cade led her down the spacious corridor towards another area of the gym.
It was clear that the larger pool above was used for entertainment purposes, but there were other pools in good condition for battling. They approached one with buoyant floats set up on both ends for trainer's Pokemon to use without falling into the water. A lone Seel was swimming in the pool and as they entered, it eagerly swam over to greet them with joyful cries of "Seel, Seel!" Ashi watched as Cade knelt down to pet the water-type's head, clearly enjoying the attention.
"I hope it's okay for us to use this place," Ashi said uncertainly. Cade finished giving Seel its pats and turned to Ashi with a reassuring nod. "It's fine, actually. The gym leader doesn't mind me using it from time to time. This room also doubles as a lecture room for teaching younger trainers about aquatic Pokemon battles. And every other weekend, we have scheduled swim classes for people and their Pokemon. It's a great way for everyone to relax and have fun."
"That's really interesting," Ashi remarked, impressed by the gym's multi-functional space. "So how should we do this?" Cade turn to her with a mischievous grin. "Does three on three work for you? Whoever takes out all three of their opponent's Pokemon first wins."
"Sounds fair to me," Ashi agreed. Cade then directed Seel towards a nearby machine that lit up with a scoreboard when Seel pressed a button.
The scoreboard lit up with Ashi's name on one side and Cade's on the other, displaying three empty circles under each trainer's name to represent the number of Pokemon they had left. Seel gave a delighted bark before hopping onto one of the buoyant floats, ready to referee the friendly battle. As the pool water gently lapped against the sides, creating a serene atmosphere, Ashi and Cade took their positions on opposite ends of the pool.
"Are you ready?" Cade called out, his enthusiasm infectious as he tossed a Pokeball into the air. "Cloyster, I choose you!" A black bivalve mollusk Pokemon emerged from the ball, its light-gray inner shell and jagged blue-violet outer shell glistening under the artificial lighting. Its pearl-like face held two white eyes and a smug grin.
Ashi wasn't surprised by Cade's choice. She remembered that Cloyster had dual ice and water abilities, with an incredibly hard shell that could withstand even diamond-tipped attacks. But Ashi was determined to give it her all.
"Suzumebachi, go!" she called out, releasing her female Beedrill. The sharp stingers on her arms gleamed in the light as she confidently hovered above the water. Ashi knew that Suzumebachi's attacks would have a hard time penetrating Cloyster's sturdy shell, but she was ready for the challenge.
The blonde trainer raised an eyebrow and smiled at Ashi, "So that's who you're going with. Very well then, Cloyster, use Ice Beam!" Cade commanded confidently as his voice echoed in the expansive gym. The Cloyster responded quickly, unleashing a powerful blast of icy energy towards Suzumebachi.
"Quick dodge it!" Ashi called for the Beedrill to evade the attack, darting through the air with agility. "All right now use Fury Attack!" Suzumebachi obeyed and dove down towards the Cloyster, striking it repeatedly with her sharp stingers. The Cloyster recoiled from the flurry of blows, its shell showing wear from the relentless assault.
But Cade wasn't one to give up easily. "Cloyster, Iron Defense!" he shouted, causing the Cloyster to close its shell and begin to glow with a metallic sheen. Its defense sharply increased as it prepared for Suzumebachi's next attack.
Ashi gritted her teeth, knowing that breaking through Cloyster's boosted defenses would be difficult with physical attacks. She scanned the battlefield for a solution and soon came up with a plan. "Suzumebachi, use Toxic!" she commanded with determination in her eye. The Beedrill released toxic spikes that scattered across the field towards Cloyster. The poison began to seep into its shell, weakening its defenses and draining its strength.
Cade's expression shifted as he assessed the situation. He knew that if left unchecked, the poison status would steadily wear down his Cloyster. With determination in his voice, he commanded his next move: "Cloyster, hit 'em with Spike Cannon!" The Cloyster launched a barrage of sharp spikes towards Suzumebachi with fierce determination. But the Beedrill was able to dodge each one with graceful agility.
Ashi watched with anticipation, her heart racing. "Suzumebachi, use Pin Missile!" she shouted confidently. The Beedrill's horn began to glow as she launched a flurry of needle-like projectiles towards Cloyster. The pins struck true, causing Cloyster to cry out in pain from the relentless attack.
Cade narrowed his eyes and furrowed his brow in concentration. "Cloyster, finish this with Hydro Pump!" he declared with determination. The Cloyster summoned a powerful blast of water, forming a high-pressure stream that shot straight for Suzumebachi. The attack hit its mark, blasting the Beedrill down and knocking it into the water.
"Suzumebachi!" Ashi cried out, watching as her Pokemon emerged from the water but was floating on its back, indicating it was unconscious. She quickly retrieved her ball and called Suzumebachi back, knowing she would need to step up her game. She sent out her next Pokemon, who was already at the scene and ready for battle: "Aratiri, you're up!"
"Pi!" The Pikachu hopped onto the water float and even though Cade's Pokemon was weakened and poisoned, the Cloyster refused to give up.
"Aratiri, let's show them what we're made of!" Ashi exclaimed with determination. The Pikachu nodded resolutely and sparks crackled from its cheeks as it prepared to fight. Cade watched with admiration in his eyes for Ashi's unwavering spirit.
"Cloyster, you've got this! Use Protect to shield yourself!" Cade commanded calmly as he strategized his next move. The Cloyster formed a shimmering barrier around itself and braced for Aratiri's attack.
Ashi assessed the situation quickly and came up with a plan. She knew that despite Cloyster's weakened state, its defenses were still formidable. But she wasn't going to back down.
Ashi's voice echoed in the arena, her command ringing with unwavering conviction. "Aratiri, use Thunderbolt!" The Pikachu responded with a fierce burst of energy, unleashing a crackling bolt of lightning towards its opponent and seeing to penetrate it's protective shield. The Thunderbolt struck the Cloyster with full force, causing it to shudder and cry out in pain. The poison coursing through its body weakened its defenses further, leaving it vulnerable to Aratiri's electric attack.
The current of electrical energy surged all around them before it came to a stop and then the Cloyster now looking to be a large black soot floating in the water, defeated. Cade nodded in acknowledgement of Ashi's skill and determination as he recalled his unconscious Pokemon, preparing to send out another challenger from his team.
"Let's see how well you handle this one," he said confidently as he released another Pokemon into the water, ready to take on the duo with all its might. Aratiri and Ashi glanced at each other, bracing themselves for whatever formidable foe lay ahead.
Suddenly, like an angry leviathan rising from the depths of the sea, a Gyarados emerged from the waters with fire in its beady eyes. The Pikachu tensed but stood ready to fight, determined to prove itself despite its size.
Cade wasted no time in commanding his Gyarados to attack. "Use Water Pulse!" he shouted, his voice booming across the arena. With a mighty roar, the Gyarados summoned a swirling sphere of water energy and launched it at Aratiri with incredible speed.
But Ashi was quick to react. "Dodge and counter with Thunder Wave!" she called out, her voice steady even in the face of such a daunting opponent. With lightning-fast reflexes, Aratiri evaded the incoming Water Pulse by nimbly jumping onto one of the extra floats lingering in the pool. In one swift move, it retaliated with a powerful wave of electric paralysis that crackled through the water towards the Gyarados.
The Thunder Wave hit its mark, causing the Gyarados to falter and slow down, its movements becoming sluggish from the effects of the paralysis. Ashi saw her chance and seized it without hesitation.
"Aratiri, now's our opening! Use Iron Tail!" she commanded, her eyes never leaving the massive Water-type Pokemon before them. The Pikachu's tail glowed with metallic energy as it prepared to strike, but Cade was not about to let his Gyarados go down without a fight. "Shake it off and counter with Whirlpool!"
The Gyarados roared in defiance, shaking off the effects of the Thunder Wave and unleashing a powerful whirlpool that churned the waters around them. Aratiri was deflected back by the force of this attack, clinging onto one of the floats for dear life as they were thrown into a dizzying spin.
But Ashi quickly thought of a strategy and shouted, "Pikachu, ride it out and focus your energy!" With great skill and agility, Aratiri shifted its weight and balanced itself on top of the spinning float like a professional surfer. As they circled around and around in the tumultuous whirlpool, Ashi urged her partner to harness its energy and wait for her signal.
With a fierce determination burning in its eyes, Aratiri channeled its power and rode the swirling waters like a seasoned wave-rider, waiting for Ashi's next command amidst the chaos. Taking advantage of their opponent's distraction, Ashi saw their chance to strike.
"Aratiri, now use Thunderbolt!" she declared boldly above the roar of the whirlpool. The Pikachu unleashed a massive bolt of lightning towards the Gyarados with all its might.
The electrifying attack crackled through the water, striking the Gyarados head-on and causing it to howl in pain as the powerful electric surge coursed through its body. The Gyarados thrashed and struggled to maintain control in the tumultuous waters, but the Thunderbolt continued to surge through it with relentless force.
Cade's eyes widened in astonishment as his mighty Gyarados struggled against the onslaught of electricity, its body writhing and convulsing with every jolt. The water beneath them churned violently from the electric current, intensifying its effects on the giant sea serpent Pokemon.
"Gyarados!" Cade yelled, but his voice was drowned out by the sound of crackling electricity and rushing water. Suddenly, everything ceased - the electric current stopped and the water stilled. But it was a short-lived respite as Gyarados gave one final roar before succumbing to exhaustion and falling forward, causing a wave of water to surge out of the pool and leaving it unconscious.
Aratiri, still perched on his makeshift surfboard, quickly made his way to Ashi's side and jump onto the platform while holding the float up against himself. He gave a triumphant cry while holding two fingers in a V shape - a clear sign of victory for Team Ashi. "Pika!" That was super fun and wouldn't mind giving that another go if he had the chance!
Ashi couldn't help but feel a sense of pride at their win, but she knew that there was still one more battle to go - unless Cade had other plans. She looked across the battlefield at him, trying to read his unreadable expression, but she could tell he wasn't going to back down without a fight.
"Well," Cade admitted with a hint of surprise in his voice, "I must admit I thought we had you beat. But it seems like you've forced my hand and I have no choice but to use my Ace in the hole." With that, he released another Pokemon onto the floating platform.
As Ashi saw the creature taking form before her, she couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity. It bore an uncanny resemblance to Slowpoke - with its single clawed digits on each hand and foot, its spiny ruff around its neck with alternating red and white stripes, and its odd spiral shell on its head with two horns near the base and a red gem in the center. She remembered reading about Slowpoke's two evolutionary forms - Slowbro and Slowking.
Cade smirked as he saw recognition dawn on Ashi's face. "Allow me to introduce you to my number one partner, Slowking!" he declared proudly.
The regal Pokemon stood tall and confident on the platform, its calm demeanor in stark contrast to the chaos of the previous battle. Ashi knew that she was up against a formidable opponent - a Water and Psychic-type with incredible intelligence and psychic abilities that made it a force to be reckoned with.
But she refused to let doubt or fear cloud her determination. She had come this far and she wasn't going to back down now. She quickly assessed her options and formulated a plan in her mind.
"Cade," she called out, her voice steady and determined, "I'm ready for your Slowking. But I won't go down without a fight. Aratiri, be on guard here!" She warn Pikachu who nod as he move to jump back into the ring, ready to take this one down!
Cade made sure everything was in order before commanding his Slowking to attack, "Use Confusion!" The Slowking's eyes gleamed with an eerie intensity as it directed its psychic energy towards Aratiri. The air seemed to ripple and distort around the Pikachu, indicating the impending impact of the psychic attack.
"Quick, get out of the way!" Ashi yelled, and Aratiri reacted with lightning speed, leaping away from the attack just in time to avoid being hit. Both trainers were tense, ready for their next move. Ashi knew she needed to act quickly and turn the tables in their favor. However, when she saw that the boards were now drifting further apart and Pikachu was left stranded on a small floating platform after narrowly avoiding another attack, she realized this was all part of Cade's plan.
"Slowking, use Psychic on the board!" Cade commanded, and Slowking's eyes shone even brighter as it lifted the floating device with its passenger still on it. Pikachu hung on tightly, feeling like it was riding a wild rollercoaster at top speed, trying not to lose its grip. "Hang in there, Ara!" Ashi could see her Pokemon struggling but refusing to give up. But Cade had other plans as he gave his next order, "Now use Power Gem!"
Slowking summoned a shining gemstone from the air and hurled it towards Aratiri with incredible force. Pikachu braced itself, knowing this would be a difficult attack to dodge. With determination in its eyes, Aratiri prepared for impact. The Power Gem struck Aratiri head-on with a loud thud, sending it flying through the air before crashing into the water below.
"Aratiri!" Ashi wanted to jump in and save her Pokemon, but she knew that would mean forfeiting the match. Fortunately, Sora came to the rescue and dove in to retrieve his friend. He brought Aratiri back, clutching onto him as he doggy-paddled towards Ashi, who helped them out of the water.
"Are you okay, Aratiri?" She asked as she checked on her Pokemon's condition. The Pikachu weakly opened its eyes and gave a small 'CHU...' to indicate it was still hanging on, but couldn't continue.
Ashi smiled at her beloved Pokemon before placing it next to Litten, who had already shaken off the chlorine and was using his flames to dry himself and keep Pikachu warm. "Take it easy, I'll take care of the rest."
With two victories each and her last Pokemon remaining, Ashi knew she had to make this final battle count. She had already chosen which one to use and held the capsule between her fingers, feeling the energy pulsating within as if the Pokemon inside could also sense the excitement building up for this moment.
"Alright girl, let's do this!" Ashi enlarged the ball and tossed it onto the platform. "Yoruchi, I choose you!" The golden Shinx emerged with a cheerful chirp upon her release. She stood proudly before her trainer, ready to face off against Cade's powerful Slowking.
Tension crackled in the air as the two trainers locked eyes, their expressions reflecting their determination and intense competition. Cade remained composed, his gaze steady as he assessed the shiny Shinx before him. Slowking stood tall and imposing, its psychic powers emanating menacingly as it awaited its next command.
"Yoruchi, let's show them what we're capable of! Start with Charge Beam!" Ashi commanded confidently. The Shinx nodded, electricity crackling around her fur as she prepared to unleash a powerful electric attack.
But Cade was quick to counter, his voice cutting through the tension. "Slowking, use Psychic to deflect the Charge Beam and follow up with Ice Beam!" he ordered coolly, a glint of challenge in his eyes.
As Yoruchi released the Charge Beam towards Slowking who created a barrier of psychic energy to deflect it, the clash of electric and psychic power filled the air. The Charge Beam dissipated harmlessly against Slowking's defenses, but before Yoruchi could react, a freezing Ice Beam shot forth from Slowking's outstretched claw.
The icy blast struck Yoruchi head-on, encasing her in a shimmering layer of frost as she let out a startled cry. Ashi's heart clenched at the sight of her beloved Shinx struggling against the intense cold, but she refused to give up.
"Yoruchi, break free with Discharge!" Ashi called out, her voice unwavering despite the worry gnawing at her insides. The golden Shinx let out a determined growl as electricity surged through her, shattering the ice and revealing her in all her glory.
Slowking braced itself for the incoming attack, but the sudden burst of electric energy caught it off guard. The Discharge crackled and surged towards Slowking, enveloping the regal Pokemon in a dazzling display of light and power. Cade's expression shifted imperceptibly, a hint of surprise crossing his features as Slowking staggered under the onslaught.
Ashi's eyes shone with determination as she watched her Shinx unleash her full potential, refusing to back down in the face of adversity. "Now, Yoruchi! Finish it with Thunderbolt!" she commanded confidently.
Yoruchi roared fiercely as she gathered all her strength, summoning a massive bolt of lightning that streaked towards Slowking with blinding speed. The air crackled with electricity as the Thunderbolt struck true, engulfing Slowking in an explosion of light.
Cade's expression remained unreadable as the smoke cleared, revealing Slowking standing proudly amidst the aftermath of the attack. The regal Pokemon looked slightly dazed but otherwise unaffected by the powerful Thunderbolt. Ashi's confidence wavered as she realized the formidable opponent she was facing.
But Cade remained calm and composed as ever. "Impressive, but not enough. Slowking, show them your Hydro Pump!" he commanded.
Before Ashi could react, Slowking unleashed a powerful stream of water, hurling towards Yoruchi with immense force. The determined golden Shinx braced herself, ignoring the option to dodge and instead facing the attack head-on.
Both Ashi and Cade were in awe as Yoruchi surprisingly remained standing even though she was being bombarded by the full force of the Hydro Pump. With her claws digging into the ground to prevent from being pushed out of the ring, Yoruchi fought against the overwhelming pressure and intensity of the attack.
A surge of fear and admiration washed over Ashi as she watched her Pokemon hold on with all her strength. She knew she had to trust in her team, no matter how hopeless the situation seemed.
"Come on, Yoruchi! Use your own power to push back!" Ashi yelled with determination. Despite the pain evident on her face, Yoruchi summoned all her strength and channeled it into a powerful Thunder attack, pushing against the Hydro Pump with all her might. The electric energy crackled around her as she successfully redirected the torrent back towards its source.
Cade's eyes widened as his Slowking was hit by the powerful thunderbolt. The regal Pokemon stumbled backwards, unable to withstand such a strong attack without its psychic barrier holding up.
Ashi felt a rush of joy as she saw Yoruchi panting but still eager to finish this battle. With Cade now on the defense, it was time for them to unleash their full potential. "Yoruchi, let's finish this with a Thunderbolt!" Ashi commanded confidently.
Yoruchi's eyes blazed with determination as she unleashed another powerful Thunderbolt, aiming directly at Slowking with unwavering focus. The crackling bolt of lightning streaked through the air, closing in on its target with electrifying speed.
Cade's expression shifted from calm confidence to a flicker of concern as the Thunderbolt bore down on his Slowking. The regal Pokemon tried to summon a psychic shield, but the attack was too quick and too intense to evade completely.
The Thunderbolt crashed into Slowking with a deafening boom, engulfing the Pokemon in a blinding explosion of light and electricity. The arena crackled and sizzled with energy as the impact sent shockwaves rippling through the air before dissipating into silence.
Cade's last Pokemon stood charred and smoking, its body wracked with exhaustion. It swayed for a moment before collapsing onto the ground, defeated by Yoruchi's powerful attack. With this final blow, Ashi emerged as the victor, her victory sealed in the smoky aftermath of the battle.
"Way to go Yoruchi!" Ashi rushed over to her Shinx at the edge of the platform and bending down to catch the Shinx as she jump into her arms, "You were great back there girl, I'm so very proud of you!" She turn to where Sora and Aratiri who finally manage to get back on his feet and joining her side, "You all were and I couldn't be any more proud to have you with me!"
"Pikachu!" Aratiri said as Ashi pat his head with warm affection while the Shinx was nuzzling against her trainer's chin as they all basked in their victorious moment. She then heard footsteps and turning to see Cade approached them, a small smile gracing his face despite his recent defeat.
His eyes shone with admiration and respect as he spoke, "That was a well-played battle back there. I must admit, out of all the trainers I have encountered, your skills truly shine and your bond with your Pokemon is undeniable."
Ashi gratefully nodded at Cade, feeling a sense of camaraderie between them. He then extended his hand towards her, offering it in friendship. "I must say, it was a great pleasure to have this match and I have no doubt you will continue to grow and excel with your Pokemon by your side," he said encouragingly.
As she reached out to shake his hand in thanks, she felt something being placed in her palm. Intrigued and surprised, she glanced down and saw a tiny blue dewdrop nestled in her grasp. Realization dawned on her as she turned to Cade, her face filled with shock. "Wait, you're the...?"
"Like wow, that was so intense back there Larcade!"
"I'll say, it was totally awesome!" Both Ashi and Larcade spun around when they heard who spoke. Ashi recognized the second voice belonging to her brother and saw Toshi waving from the stands next to their friends Leon, Raihan, and Steven. She also noticed the aquatic performers from today's show standing on the Hoenn Champion's left side. They soon came down to join where Ashi and Cade were and seeing as Toshi got to her first and unable to hold back what he had to say. "I can't believe you went and had a match without telling me!"

After informing Ashi that he would meet them back at the Center after he took care of things on his end, he hurried off knowing he had to get there fast! "I'm so glad Forrest reminded me it was being released today. I wouldn't have wanted to miss out on getting it." Misty had tried to persuade them not to go into the city, but there was no way he was going to miss the chance to grab the latest edition of one of his favorite dating games. He had heard great things about it and couldn't resist its promise of beautiful and alluring goddesses.
"The Fifth Chapter has finally arrived!" He was ecstatic when the sequel to the sequel's sequel was announced. As a hot-blooded male, he couldn't resist the idea of being surrounded by attractive and adoring virtual women who saw him for who he truly was.
"Oh my darling goddesses, your beloved Brock is on his way to find you!" He quickly located the nearest game shop in the district and headed towards the aisle with all the new releases. He scanned through various options until something caught his eye. "Ah ha! I knew I'd find you!" The game was placed high up on a shelf, seemingly the last copy in stock. What luck!
Brock was about to grab it when he noticed another person reaching for it at the same time. "Hey, what do you think you're doing?" The person looked about his age, with chestnut brown hair and dark eyes behind glasses. They were wearing a long-sleeved shirt with a white collar and pants. The teen scowled at Brock, "Excuse me, but could you please take your hands off this?"
"Pardon me, but I believe this one is mine!" Brock retorted as the person narrowed their eyes. "I'm afraid you're mistaken. This is meant for my vast collection."
"No chance," Brock insisted, determined not to let this person take away his opportunity for happiness with these virtual beauties. "She's coming home with me!"
The tension between Brock and the mysterious person crackled in the air as they both refused to back down. It was a showdown over a dating simulation game, but to them, it was a battle of wills, a clash of desires. Brock's competitive nature flared up, his determination to secure the game unwavering.
The person's expression turned icy, their hand still hovering near the game. "I suggest you step away before this escalates further."
Brock's jaw clenched, his gaze steely. "I never back down from a challenge. Especially when it comes to matters of the heart!" With a swift movement, he lunged forward, attempting to grab the game before his opponent could react.
But the mysterious person was lightning-quick, snatching the game just out of Brock's reach. A smirk played on their lips as they held the coveted item close to their chest. "You'll have to try harder than that, my friend." But Brock ever so determine and knowing he never surround look over the guy's shoulder, "Look it's Goddess Belldandy!" The person whirled and Brock taking his chance to grab at the case, "Yoink! Gotcha! Ha I just—"
"Oh my is that Saori Kido I see walking in?" Brock now finding his attention turn to the door, expecting to see the violet hair deity but then saw just some old man before feeling the emptiness in his hand, "Hah looks like I win this time!" The person was smug as Brock turn now pissed since he used his own trick back on him.
"Just who do you think you are?" Brock growled as the teen stood their ground. The glint of their glasses caught his attention as they replied, "I am the master of hearts, the God of Conquests who has captured over ten thousand of these fine beauties and plans to continue conquering every virtual affection. Heed well to know who you are up against, for my name is—"
"Keima! There you are!" The two turned to see a girl approaching them. Her long hair was styled in a high ponytail, and she wore a dark kimono with a sash that partially revealed her chest. Brock couldn't help but be drawn to her as she walked past him, ready to introduce himself before she grabbed Keima's arm and dragged him away. "Come on, we have to hurry!"
"Seriously? Today is my day off. I'm not going to waste it by—" But Keima didn't get the chance to finish his sentence as the girl pulled him away and out the store. This Keima now cursing loudly at the girl and everyone else but leaving Brock with his game that was left behind, meaning this was his victory.
"Yes in your face!" Brock did a happy dance in his head, knowing score one for the Brockster before rushing for the register and pulling out his wallet at the same time, "I like to buy this please!"
"Would you also like to purchase one of the special Goddess Figurine Collection along with it." The cashier was pointing to the figures that were set behind his counter in containers and Brock who see the many beautiful girls that were from the first four series as well as a few new faces.
Now Brock was in a tight bind. Oh just who does he pick?!
