"So, we're watching the Godzilla Multiverse?" Ruby asked, a little excited as she and Oscar recalled when they hung out with Hazel Godzilla.
"Yes," the Host replied with a nod.
"Is it the one we saw in the trailer?" Oscar asked. "Or the "My Enemy" AMV or the Hazel variant."
"Those will come later on." Darth Anarchus shook his head. "Let's start from the beginning. 1954."
"The beginning?" repeated Oscar.
"The one who started it all," Darth Anarchus went on, holding up his prosthetic arm and clenching a fist and the whole room shook for a moment. "The first Kaiju, the Original King of the Monster. The Original Destroyer of Mantle. The Legend of Odo Island. Gojira. Godzilla."
"Okay, enough chatter, show us what you're hyping us up," Blake said.
Do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do. Do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do, do-do
"I saw it, Seiji," Doctor Kyohei Yamane said to Shinkichi Seiji with a party of Odo Island warriors, his daughter Edel and Nicholas Schnee in black and white footage. "Up there on the mountain. A prehistoric monster from the Jurassic Age." The humans and Faunus approach the hilltop.
While some were intrigued to see the Odo Islanders, they were intrigued by what was said.
Willow, Klein and Jacques stiffened and stared at the screen in surprise.
"Is that. . . Grandfather and Grandmother?" Winter asked what she and her younger siblings were thinking.
Willow silently nods her head, not taking her eyes off the screen. Her three children smiled sadly and fondly at the image of their grandparents.
"And Dr. Kyohei Yamane is Edel's father," Darth Anarchus stated. "He's a paleotolongist."
Adam, Ilia and Sienna sighed. Try as they might, they held Nicholas Schnee in a small negative way only because of the fact he chose Jacques to take over the Dust Company and that allowed the company to operate in a more moral grey area with controversial labor forces for the Faunus.
"This song already sounds dope," Sun said with a grin. "What's it called?"
"Centuries," Darth Anarchus replied and gestured to the screen.
Some legends are told, Some turn to dust or to gold, But you will remember me. Remember me for centuries!
The head of a large Saurian rises up behind the hilltop Dr. Yamane had pointed to. The humans stumble back in fear. The Saurian had dark gray skin covered in scales and keloid scars, a row of bony white dorsal plates running down his spine, small and pointed ears and noticeable fangs with short arms and sharp claws. He turns to look at the humans and gives a haunting baritone roar.
SSKKRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOO-OOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNKK!
Dr. Yamane, his daughter and the Odo Islanders run away in terror.
Many jolted at the volume of the singing, this snapped Willow and her children out of their trance, especially at seeing the Kaiju on the screen.
"Damn, that's a bit scarier than the one we saw in the trailer," Qrow stated.
Penny furrowed her brows. "What happened to this variant?" she asked. "He's. . . covered in scars."
"What?" Whitley asked. Everyone looked to the android girl in confusion before turning to Darth Anarchus.
"Keloid scars," the Host explained. He had assumed that no one would see those in the black and white color setting. But Penny was an android that would see those scars. "A result of surving a nuclear bomb detonating at close range. The intense heat and radiation would leave behind permenant scars like those."
"He survived a nuclear bomb, like Doomsday?" Amber asked, shocked and a little awed.
"More or less. Those kind of bombing tests in the Great Ocean is what woke up this variant and mutated him into what you see here," Darth Anarchus explained.
"I see," Amber replied. "And who is this variant?"
"Ozma," the Host replied. Which is fitting since they are both the first incarnations of a long legacy respectively.
Salem scoffed and rolled her eyes as did Hazel and Raven while the mentioned man hummed in thought.
Then he was shown lifting his head out of the water in Argus Bay. Next, the Audience see Ozma Gojira rampaging through Argus. The Audience then saw that Ozma Gojira stood 50 meters in height.
"Also fun fact, this is one of the smaller Godzilla variants," the Host added when everyone looked at the Saurian Kaiju on the screen in awe.
This shocked everyone.
"That is one of the smaller ones?" Whitley repeated incredulously. "This Godzilla stands tall as a Leviathan and you're saying this is one of the smaller ones?"
"Yes," Darth Anarchus replied. "Besides, in the view of the Multiverse, Godzilla was around longer. The Leviathan is just a cheap knock off."
Salem felt offended at that.
And just one mistake, Is all it will take, We'll go down in history. Remember me for centuries!
A train is unaware of what's happening and Ozma Gojira steps onto the railroad and the train hits his foot.
"Oh no," Summer said as she and the others saw the train and Gojira's foot in front of it.
The Original King of Monsters roars in anger and leans down to pick up the front train cart as passengers flee out of the other carts, lifts it in the air and shakes it like a dog before dropping it down. He stomps his foot on the other cart.
Hey-ya, oh, hey, hey-ya! Remember me for centuries!
Most of the students began to nod their heads or tap their feet along with the song.
Little Adrian woke up with a yawn. The little toddler rubbed his eyes and looked at the screen. He sees Gojira and squealed. "Dinosaur!"
Civilians flee in terror as Gojira stomps through the City of Argus. He then grabs onto a bridge and starts to pull it off like it was made of wet paper. He slams his tail on another part of the bridge before he is shown walking back to the sea, giving one last roar.
"Strong arms despite their short size," Dr. Oobleck muttered as he wrote it down in his notebook.
"It must have small twitch muscles," Pietro said in thought.
"Small twitch muscles?" Cardin repeated.
"Muscles that allow the limbs to move fast and possess a lot of strength despite their small size," Penny explained with a smile. "A prime example of this are chimpanzees."
Mummified my teenage dreams. No, it's nothing wrong with me!
Ozma Gojira walks out of the water of Mantle Bay, unlike Argus the city was surrounded by electric power towers and cables in an attempt to create a giant electric fence.
Most of the adults in the Audience felt pity for the people of Mantle on the screen. Knowing their own history, Mantle had just lost the Great War. A giant monster wasn't going to help their economy.
"Ooh!" Nora perked up at seeing the electric fence.
"Nora, no." Ren sighed, knowing that his energetic partner was thinking of testing her electricity absorption Semblance on powerlines like the ones on screen.
The kids are all wrong, the story's all off. Heavy metal broke my heart!
Atlassian soldiers wait nearby, some watching the Saurian Kaiju with binoculars others with rifles, machine guns and Great War tanks as Ozma Gojira walks toward the fence.
Come on, come on and let me in. Bruises on your thighs like my fingerprints.
The screen switches between Gojira who looks left and right at the giant electric fence before him and the city's power station control room, two men waiting before turning on the power as Ozma Gojira is within an arm's reach of the power cables.
And this is supposed to match the darkness that you felt, I never meant for you to fix yourself
Gojira roars in anger as he stops to pull the high tension wires down with a purposeful grimace, the tanks and soldiers fire at him but nothing pierces his scales like spitballs to a Gorilla with his hands or kicks their metal legs out with his four clawed feet and tail.
"Well, it was worth a shot," Sun said with a shrug.
Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da. Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da, da-da
Ozma Gojira's spines begin to glow white before he breathes out a fiery white vapor-like cloud of fire out of his mouth that melts the Atlassian steel towers that they bend down at weird angles.
Being the ones who hung out with Hazel Godzilla, Oscar and Ruby were surprised to see the Godzilla onscreen and that his Atomic Breath looked like vapor that could melt steel.
"That. . . looked a little underwhelming," Militia stated.
"Don't let that fool you," Darth Anarchus forbade. "This Godzilla's Atomic Breath is hot enough to boil water in an instant and melt Atlassian steel, as you can see."
"Right, sorry," the red clad Malachite twin cleared her throat.
Some legends are told. Some turn to dust or to gold. But you will remember me. Remember me for centuries!
Gojira roars in victory of his accomplishment. The Audience then sees a montage of Ozma Gojira rampaging through the City of Mantle, destroying buildings with his giant size or setting them ablaze with his Atomic Breath.
And just one mistake, Is all it will take, We'll go down in history. Remember me for centuries!
Gojira stomps through the roofs of a warehouse before the Audience Mantle citizens running for their lives as Gojira walks after them.
"He. . . seems to be taking his time destroying the city," Marrow said, a little disturbed.
"That is because he is," Elm said in realization.
"Why is that?" Vine asked.
Darth Anarchus answered, "Because he is angry. He is a dinosaur that is changed into an entirely new being, against his will and is scarred from the atomic bombing. He knows enough that humans are the ones that made the bombs." he explained. "He's merely taking his anger on the beings that turned him into what he is while seeing that they are living on old stomping grounds."
". . . I didn't expect that," Harriet replied after a moment while everyone else was surprised by their Host's explanation.
"What? You think that because I said that Godzilla makes the Creatures of Grimm look tame that I mean he is just like them?" Darth Anarchus asked rhetorically.
". . . Well, honestly, yeah." Jaune replied sheepishly. Cardin, Mercury and others next to them nodded their heads.
The Host rolled his eyes with a scoff and crossed his arms. "Monsters are tragic beings, Arc." he said. "They are born too tall, too big, too heavy. They are not evil by choice, that is their tragedy."
Hey-ya, oh, hey, hey-ya! Hey-ya, oh, hey, hey, hey-ya!
A small group of people run in an alleyway but collapse as soon as Ozma Gojira walks past them.
"What happened to them?" Ruby asked in concern. "They just collapsed like that."
"It's most likely due to Ozma Gojira's radiation." Darth Anarchus stated in thought.
"Radiation?" Weiss repeated, brows furrowing.
"Like Dust crystals?" Jacques asked.
"Yes, but at higher levels," Darth Anarchus replied. "Dust crystals emit a low amount of radiation that is only lethal to living beings after years of prolonged exposure. All Godzilla's are irradiated by the nuclear bombs. This particular variant can be considered a walking nuclear disaster that can leave a city block completely uninhabitable because his radiation containmates any nearby water, plants, animals and people."
That surprised everyone in the Audience. Qrow and Robyn were struck because it reminded them how the former spoke how he used to call himself a living bad luck charm.
"That's actually kind of sad," Ruby said, sniffing and wiping her eyes.
"Yeah, those bombs just gave him a lonely existence." Yang muttered sadly.
"And that's not even including that the bombs killed his species," the Host added nonchalantly.
". . . Damn," was all Cardin could say.
Cinder then remembered what was said in the Minus One trailer by one of the characters, a man she didn't recognize.
"That monster. . . will never forgive us."
The Audience sees another view of the Original King of the Monsters walking through Mantle, the city set ablaze behind him.
Remember me for centuries!
Three tanks roll up front of Ozma Gojira and unleash their payload upon the dark gray keliod scarred Saurian
And I can't stop 'til the whole world knows my name, 'Cause I was only born inside my dreams!
Gojira roars in anger and annoyance. But other than being annoyed, Gojira was unharmed from the tanks.
Those in the military and the older Huntsmen and Huntresses were stumped to see the tanks do nothing against Ozma Gojira, Ironwood especially when he took extreme pride (That often mixed with hubris and arrogance.) in the military might of Atlas (In this case, Mantle.)
Until you die for me, as long as there's a light, My shadow's over you, 'Cause I, I am the opposite of amnesia!
The Original King of Monsters returns fire with his Atomic Breath and explodes the road between himself and the tanks. The operators do the smart thing and retreat.
"Yeah, nope," Coco said, shaking her head. She didn't like retreating, but if she encountered a creature that shrugs off heavy tank fire like Gojira just did, she'd have her team retreat as well.
Gojira pokes his head from behind a row of buildings and roars before unleashing his Atomic Breath on a group of people across the street from him. The people drop down, dead and on fire.
And you're a cherry blossom, you're about to bloom, You look so pretty, but you're gone so soon!
A group of civilians are the main focus as they watch from a safe distance of ten city blocks, the silhouette of Ozma Gojira among the burning buildings barely visible to the Audience. Then they get a close up of Gojira as he fires his Atomic Breath again.
Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da, Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da, da-da!
Gojira stands behind a large aviary, the birds flying around the birdcage in terror as Gojira roars, one black pupiled eye staring at the birds. He raises his tail and slams it down on a house behind him on the right of him.
"Birdies, noo!" Ruby cried out.
"Relax, Ruby," Darth Anarchus said. "Ozma Gojira merely just cracked the glass dome that allowed the birds to escape."
Ruby sighed in relief.
"But that was kind of pointless given that the whole city is reduced to a sea of fire."
Ruby slumped.
Some legends are told, Some turn to dust or to gold, But you will remember me! Remember me for centuries!
Using both of his arms, Ozma Gojira pushes down a building that was tall as him and kicks at the wall of the one next to it. The Saurian Kaiju then rakes his claws down the front of a row of garage doors.
And just one mistake, Is all it will take, We'll go down in history. Remember me for centuries!
Gojira stomps through a building before he is shown to the Audience rampaging through the less damaged part of Mantle.
He then roars at an observation tower full of news reporters that were taking pictures of him with bright flashes. He then reaches with his jaws and pulls the tower down. The people scream as the tower they stood on falls to the ground.
"Some people just don't know when to flee," Adam shook his head.
Hey-ya, oh, hey, hey-ya! Hey-ya, oh, hey, hey-ya! Remember me for centuries!
Ozma Gojira then walks to a part of the bridge, reaches down to grab it with his clawed hands and then pulls that specific part off its support beams and flips it onto its back.
"Okay, now he was just being a jerk," Velvet crossed her arms. "He could have just walked through the bridge, instead he did that."
". . . I don't see how that's any different." Emerald said to the Rabbit Faunus.
"It's a lot harder to rebuild when it's damaged like that." Velvet clarified.
The dark gray Saurian Kaiju begins to walk back to the sea, swinging his arms at the Mantle Army jets that blasted him with missiles. It mattered not if they missed his body (Which is a bit concerning since he is fifty meters tall. How the Hell did the pilots miss that? Are they Stormtroopers?) or had a direct hit. They did no damage just like all other conventional weaponry in Mantle's arsenal.
"How are those jets missing something that big?!" Tai asked. "Who's flying them?!"
Ozma Gojira lifts his head and the Audience sees that the Saurian Kaiju is underwater now.
We've been here forever, And here's the frozen proof, (Da-da-da-da!) I could scream forever, We are the poisoned youth!
Dr. Bartholomew Oobleck is shown, a black eyepatch over his right eye, dressed in a diving suit and helmet. Nicholas Schnee is with him, also clad in a diving suit and helmet. The two men approach Gojira, Nicholas with a flashlight to illuminate the dark waters and Dr. Oobleck held a large glass canister that looked to hold a glass sand egg timer.
"Oh, fascinating, I am here!" Oobleck himself exclaimed in surprise and joy. He felt that he hadn't had a lot of roles in these viewings. "Who am I in this universe."
"A scientist that studies in creating sources of energy," the Host replied, looking to the screen with respect. "And he's betrothed to Edel Yamane." This surprised the Schnee family and Oobleck who gets elbowed by a teasing Port. "The device he's holding is a last resort to stop the threat that is Godzilla."
"Is he going to succeed?" Willow asked.
"Wait and see."
Sensing their presences in his domain, Ozma Gojira stomps towards them. Both divers step back in slight fear as Gojira looks down at them from between two rock pillars.
Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da, Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da, Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da, Da-da, do-do, do-do-do-do, do-do!
Oobleck pulls on Nicholas' lifeline, signaling those on the boat above them that the Schnee is ready to return to the surface. Oobleck however stays down as he activates his most hated and dangerous creation.
"Hated?" repeated Port.
"Dangerous?" said Glynda in concern.
Darth Anarchus held up a hand.
The Oxygen Destroyer.
When the Kaiju is in range, Oobleck throws the Oxygen Destroyer at Ozma Gojira's feet. The device releases bubbles and the water begins to boil.
At first many were confused at the sight of the bubbles forming but then they were surprised at what they saw next.
Some legends are told, Some turn to dust or to gold, But you will remember me. Remember me for centuries!
Gojira roars in pain and agony, his body convulses and writhes as the very oxygen was being destroyed, along with that within his body.
"How is that possible?" Watts asked.
"The Oxygen Destroyer liquifies the atoms of oxygen," Darth Anarchus replied. "Along with destroying all living tissue. The amount of chemicals within the device is enough to turn Mantle Bay into a graveyard of bones before turning it into nothing. Making the Oxyegen Destroyer more dangerous than any nuclear bomb."
"Why would my counterpart make something like that?" Oobleck asked in horror.
"It wasn't intentional," the Host replied, flooring the Audience. That was UNINTENTIONAL?! "It was meant to be a source of energy. Not a weapon."
Dr. Oobleck pulls out a knife and cuts his lifelines before his friends, fiance and allies could pull him to the surface.
"What is he doing?!" Port exclaimed.
And just one mistake Is all it will take, We'll go down in history. Remember me for centuries!
Kyohei pulls his hat off with a mournful expression as he realizes what his daughter's fiance planned on doing from the start.
"This variant of Dr. Oobleck understood the dangers of humanity that are divided and always drawn to war with one another," Darth Anarchus said as his Clone Troopers salute the screen. "He knew the horrors that could be unleashed if the Oxygen Destroyer was weaponized and used on land. He burned all his research connected to it along with the blueprints and now chose to die along side Godzilla so no one can force him to make another device with such devastating power."
Everyone was shocked, some covering their mouths before the majority looked at the screen with respect. The older adults followed the Clone Troopers' example and saluted the screen. Qrow rose his flask up while Roman tipped his hat.
Oobleck took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes, admittedly shaken at what he was told. His fellow teachers, Glynda and Port placed a hand on each of his shoulders. The students shed some tears, especially those from Beacon Academy.
Ruby sniffled and wiped her eyes. This was just like the death of Superman.
"And remember that Grimm are not living creatures," the Host gives a stern glare at Ironwood. "So there is no reason for such a weapon to be made in your world."
Ironwood nodded in silent agreement.
The water next to the Mantle Navy ship was boiling and churning as if a volcano was erupting beneath the surface.
Edel and Nicholas hold each other tightly, the woman's eyes widened in terror.
Hey-ya, oh, hey, hey-ya! We'll go down in history, Hey-ya, oh, hey, hey-ya! Remember me for centuries!
Godzilla surfaced in front of the humans, he lifted his head up and roared one last time as if he himself was singing the lyrics of the song. He then falls back under the surface of the ocean that had been home to his kind for generations and now became his grave.
". . . I kind of feel bad for him," Oscar said reluctantly. "I mean, sure he was destroying the city and killing people, but. . . if he wasn't mutated, if his family wasn't killed by the nuclear testing. . ."
"At his core," Salem speaks up. "He was just an animal reacting in instinct."
"At least he sang the last of the lyrics," Sun joked.
Yang snorted. "Yeah, if we'd ever meet a creature like Godzilla, I don't think anyone would forget him for a long time."
His body lay motionless, save for his right arm that moved ever so slightly as if he tried one last effort to escape the boiling water before it fell down limp. When he rolled to his side, it transitioned to show his entire skeleton to the Audience. And then nothing.
Many grimaced and felt pity at seeing such a creature that tried to crawl away from death one last time before they saw his skeleton and stare at shock and horror.
Nothing but water.
Many in the Audience felt some chills. So that was the power of the Oxygen Destroyer.
"Unfortunately, Ozma was not the only creature to be mutated by the nuclear testings," Darth Anarchus said after a moment.
"You got to be kidding me," Sun said, slumping down.
"Nope, I am not. But you can blame that on the people who continued to keep on testing the bombs despite Dr. Yamane campaigning to stop nuclear testing."
"Humans?" Adam frowned in disgust.
"And Faunus," Darth Anarchus added. "Humans and Faunus are two sides of the same coin, Taurus. They're both capable of doing the same thing, adding animal appendages and ears aren't going to change that. Now, let's move on."
So, what do you think?
I hope I did the AMV justice along with explaining the lore a bit.
Was this a good introduction to the Godzilla Multiverse? Especially with starting with the one who started the entire franchise? The first Hyrdogen Monster, the Original King of Monsters, the first Destroyer of Tokyo, Gooojjjiiirrraaa!
I'm thinking of adding some reactions to Godzilla comics since I have bought a few in the past. What do you think?
Leave reviews and tell me what you think/like and what you want in the next reactions.
Next time: In honor of the two actors who died, the Audience will react to the Suit Actors of Godzilla.
Until then.
Take care of yourselves.
