Chapter 7: The second date

Taipei; September 7th; 19:20 NST

The cityscape rises high into the sky, but only one place is of importance. Before a modern-styled building with a small grass suburb with a fountain adorning the center stands a blonde woman, her hair falling to her red jacket covered shoulders, simple silver earrings, and a chain necklace complimenting her dusk blue eyes.

In her right hand is a notepad and in her left is a microphone. Across the bottom of the screen, it says Cat Grant Reporting from Taipei Taiwan; GBS News Rhelasian Peace Summit at Impasse. And in the top right corner, there's a small tag that reads LIVE.

"This is Cat Grant reporting from Taipei where the historic Peace Summit between South Rhelasia and North Rhelasia has completely broken down. As a last resort, Prime Minister Tseng of South Rhelasia and North Rhelasia's General Singh Manh Li have agreed to bring in an independent arbitrator. But who is it?"

Cat's voice continues even as the camera changes and there is a close-up of both Prime Ministers who are both being swarmed by the press.

"Speculation has run from the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Superman. But the Man of Steel seems unlikely, as I'm told the arbitrator is due to arrive by car, not cape, at any moment." Cat says, briefly glancing down at her notes and signing off.

The white limo before the building for the Summit pulls away from the press-dense area. Red Arrow, decked out in a suit of his own and dark glasses stands with his back to a pillar, watches over the area. Tapping the Bluetooth in his left ear, he listens to it beep, and someone responds on the other end.

"Go for Aqualad." The Atlantean replies instantly. "It's Red Arrow." He says, informing Aqualad who is calling in. "I need access to the Justice League's database."

Aqualad walks around the Zeta Room in Mount Justice. "I need the exact height of the League of Shadows assassin known as Cheshire." Aqualad moves his right hand out, a keyboard and screen appearing instantly. "Checking." He says as the information was loading on the screen. Before the data came up another voice cut in.

"She's five foot six." Legend, dressed in a blue hoodie and blue jeans with a pair of sunglasses, answered from within the crowd.

"How do you know that?" Red Arrow questioned the clone. "I remember from when we were protecting Dr. Roquette." Legend replied as the access to the database is displayed like a vault even virtually, as the assassin's image appears before him. "He is correct, it says here that Cheshire is 1.67 meters."

"Um…" Red mutters, as per typical American student he didn't know what that was in feet.

"That is five foot six." Aqualad reads the conversion with a smile. "And extremely dangerous. Do you need more backup?" Aqualad asks. Red scoffs. "Please. I don't need your team or the league." He tapped the frame of his glasses. The program engages, reading off the height of every woman in the area.

"No, just our computer." Aqualad murmurs. "don't worry, he has me." Legend replied.

Red focuses in on the woman that is framed in red in his lenses, zooming in on her face, to test her match.

Aqualad looks at the results once more. "Good luck, my friends. Aqualad out." He says before signing off.

Red removes his hand from the Bluetooth, looking down at the briefcase in his other hand. Opening the case, he reveals his compound bow in its collapsed form inside. Taking it out of the case, the bow extend to its full length.

Motorcycles are heard heading towards the steps of the Summit building, Red looks over and sees that it is an escort, meaning the ambassador has arrived. The sirens engage, two motorcycles before the limo and four after it.

"The ambassador has arrived." Cat Grant says to the camera. Red notches an arrow, crouching down to lower his visibility. Legend moves closer to where the arbitrator should be getting out.

Cheshire stands on top of a table with a rocket launcher resting plainly on her shoulder. She drops the nose, looking through the scope at the Limo, where four guards stand around it.

She fires the rocket, just as the rocket got close, Legend grabbed it and threw it into the air, Red fired his arrow at the rocket, making it explode. Cheshire tried to run, but Legend grabbed her and pinned her to the ground. "Wow, only our second date and you already being so bold." She said looking up at the clone with a sultry smirk as police surround them.

The police call out to the screaming crowd "Pā xià! Měi gèrén pā xià!" (Down! Everybody get down!) While the guards for both Rhelasian officials step up.

Cat Grant stays low to the ground but doesn't move an inch. "Did you get that? Tell me you got that shot?" she asks her cameraman, who gave her a thumbs up as he faces his camera back up towards the action.

Cat Grant stands back up, a little ways away from the circle of police as they handcuff Cheshire's hands. Despite the situation Cheshire doesn't resist in any way. "We have just witnessed an assassination attempt live." A burette haired woman steps out of the front of the Limo and walks to the back. "Thankfully, no one seems to have been hurt, including our mystery ambassador." She opens the door.

Following the flashes of the cameras and the bustling crowd Red's eyes go wide under his sunglasses when he sees who it is. "Huh?!" Is all he can manage to get out in his shock. Legend knew who this was and what they have done.

"Lex Luthor?" Cat questions, surprised and unsure as the business tycoon straightens his tie and looks at the cameras that increase in their flashing.

Cheshire is loaded into the back of a police car, her mask removed. She glances out the window, giving a confident smile as her eyes lock with Legend. She leans back, relaxed as the car drives off.

The police wave the cars onwards as they all make their way down the drive. The burnett haired woman steps forward, holding a phone up, she soon ended the call and nodded to Lex.

Lex turned to the police where Arrow and Legend, who are currently waiting in handcuffs. "We have confirmation this one's Green Arrow's pal, Speedy."

"It's Red Arrow now." He corrects, but not beyond the name he used. "They must be questioned." One of the cops said.

"I vouch for them, captain." Lex says with a simple smile. "Release the sidekicks."

"Ex-sidekick." Red snaps, as one of the cops releases his handcuffs. "And I don't need any favors from you." He steps forward, rubbing his wrist.

"Apologies, I didn't realize you wished to join the young lady behind bars." Luthor says as Red walks past him.

Another cop goes to take off Legend's cuffs, but fumbles with the keys. "Don't worry, I've got it." He said lifting his arms up and broke the cuffs with no effort. The cop's jaws drop as Legend walks off, following Red.

Red turns on Lex instantly, snarling. "You may have everyone here fooled, Luthor, but I know what you are."

Legend grabs Red's shoulder and pulled him back slightly. "Oh, I don't pretend to be an angel. It just so happens that this time, I'm on the side of the angels." Luthor says with no malice in turn.

He moves to get between the two hero's and the exit once more. His smile proves that he doesn't mind being a demon either. With that, he walks away, leaving Red Arrow and Legend with no choice but to follow him inside.

Cat turns towards the camera, raising her mic. "Tensions are running high. And troops are massing on the border between the two countries. Right now, Lex Luthor seems to be the best or only hope for peace."

"Why should either side trust you?" Red questions darkly. "Because Lex Corp is a company founded on peaceful enterprise for all humanity." The bald man says calmly.

"Cut the act, Luthor." Red snaps. "I've got intel linking Lex Corp shell companies to the sale of weapons in both Rhelasia's." Lex doesn't deny it and Red finally gets to the heart of why this bothers him. "You're profiting off this war. So, what's your angle?" Legend asked in a stern tone.

"War income is pocket change compared to the billions to be made investing in a peaceful, united Rhelasia." Lex admits, leaning closer to Red's ear. "And isn't it better to have peace even if that scoundrel Lex Luthor profits from it?"

"That scoundrel may not survive to profit." Red points out, and Luthor steps away from the young adult. "Cheshire failed, but the League of Shadows won't stop until the contract is fulfilled."

"Which does beg the question, who hired them?" Lex asks, seeming honestly unsure of who could've done this.

"And were you really the target?" Red mumbles, looking up the stairs. "Was your death just a convenient way to sabotage the Summit?"

"Allow me to hire you to find out." Lex offers lightly. "Your money has blood on it, and I'm not here to make a quick buck." Red snarls. "Same goes for me." Legend adds.

Lex chuckles lightly. "So, you'll provide your services for free then?" he places his hand on Red's and Legend's shoulder. "I can live with that, Hero's. Now, excuse me. I have a hemisphere to save."

Cameras shutter and click as Lex walks up the stairs. "Gentlemen, gentlemen, shall we attempt some smiles for the cameras?" he offers.

In the Taipei police Station, Legend and Red Arrow stands in a room with a single cell where Cheshire was doing drawn out and fluid martial arts katas, completely at ease.

"Aren't you going to ask me anything?" she asks, not even looking at them. "I think you know what we're after." Red said lowly.

Cheshire pauses, holding her leg high in the air as she looks over her shoulder. "I do actually." She smirks seeing Legend try to avoid staring at her.

The heroes took a step back as the assassin pressed her heel to the bars. "Who hired you?" Red asks.

"The Shadows." Cheshire replied simply, going through more moves.

"Who hired them?" Red questions, the anger starting to leak into his tone. "I don't ask." She tells him with a wink toward Legend.

"What's the endgame? The Peace Summit or Luthor himself?!" Red Arrow snaps, his patience gone.

Cheshire raises her hands over her head, finally staying rooted in her spot. "Two birds…" she turns towards the two hero's quickly, her hands making a mock gun. "one stone." When she gets no reaction, she changes it up.

"Hey, where are your other little sidekick friends? They're always fun to play with. Especially this one and the archer girl. I like them." Cheshire's said with a barely noticeable sultry tone. "She… they aren't in my League." Red snarls. "And you think you're in mine?" Cheshire counters.

Red exhaled deeply and turns to Legend. "I'll be back, see what you can get out of her." He says turning around and leaving the room.

Cheshire looked at Legend, smirking as she reached through the bars and pulling on Legend's shirt. He gasped slightly as he was pulled forward, his hand grabbing the bar just above hers. "Looks like someone wants to show off for the ladies." She says moving her hand up and down the chest area of Legend's tight shirt.

"I-I'm not." Legend says, trying not to show his flustered state. Cheshire grabs the back of his head and pulls him down, almost eye level with her. "Sure about that?"

Out of no where, she dropped low. It give Legend just enough time to see her holding the bars tightly, his instincts made him step back, cross his arms in front of his face and closes his eyes when he realized what was happening.

"Oh… crapbaskets." He mutters, just before the explosion goes off. Smoke covers the room, and the force causes Legend to let out a grunt.

Sirens wailed as a rope ladder is dropped past the hole in the outside wall. "Ugh, it had to be you." Cheshire snarks.

"Beggars can't be choosers, little girl." He says, completely undeterred. "You coming?"

Cheshire throws only one glance over her shoulder before she jumps out of the hole and grabbed ahold of the ladder.

Legend coughs and gets up as Red Arrow runs back in the room. Running up to the bars he groans at the now obstacle between them and their target.

The door to the cell was opened as Legend ripped it off, Red Arrow ran in immediately. Red Arrow drew his bow and notched an arrow. He looked down to see Cheshire and Sportsmaster running across the lower rooftops as a helicopter lowered itself to pick them up.

Red's eyes narrowed behind his mask as he drew back the harpoon tipped arrow, a length of rope following from where it connected to a lower building. Legend jumps as Red slides down the line, Legend land right across from Cheshire and Sportsmaster.

"I admire persistence, but…" Cheshire doesn't need to finish as she brandishes a throwing star, which she throws and it cuts through the line.

Red flips backwards, just before the line is cut and he lands next to Legend. They make it into the helicopter and Sportsmaster turns towards the pilot.

"Go! Go! Go!" He commands and within seconds the chopper is in the air.

Red can't catch up to them, but he already has another arrow notched. Before he could release it, he was suddenly grabbed by Legend who jumped and grabbed onto the landing gear. The pilot managed to shake them off. As they fell, Red shot his arrow at the chopper, the flat tip of the arrow holding to the side of the chopper. He graves onto the length of rope catching himself as he drops off the edge of the roof, he grabbed Legends hand right as he went past him.

"Are you even trying to ditch these guys?" Sportsmaster demands of the pilot. "I really hate to admit it, but he has a point." Cheshire says, she brandishes a knife and cuts through the rope.

With their support gone, Red Arrow and Legend begin to fall through the air, Red turns so that he's facing the roofs, he then pulling out another arrow and firing. This one hits the roof and explodes into foam, which cushions their fall.

"So what now?" Legend asked. "This." Red Arrow pulls out a phone, flipping it open it shows a map of the city with a green dot moving across it. "Tracking arrow, nice one." Legend complements.

"Because I'm a professional, I won't kill you. At least not while we're on the job." Cheshire snarls at Sportsmaster from behind her mask.

"You wouldn't have this job if it wasn't for me. Grow up already." Sportsmaster growls.

"The evening's agenda was to create strife between nations. Not my assassins." A voice speaks from the shadows of the doorway. A tanned-skin man with hair that had gray streaks behind his ears and green eyes steps out. He glared at the two before him. Cheshire dropped to a knee and bowed her head. "Master."

"And client." Ra's reminds her. "So twice the disappointment in your failure. Luthor has been a thorn in my side for too long. And peaceful countries rarely call upon the League of Shadows."

Red Arrow and Legend layed on the roof of the outlying wall, Red used binoculars to see what is happening. "Ra's al Ghul." He says Surprised. "You gotta be kidding me." Legend groaned out.

"So, I expect a better outcome." He tells the two, now standing level with him as Red Arrow zooms in on his face. "And less interference from those boys." Now Red had Ra's al Ghul staring him down.

"Perfect." The ginger says sarcastically as he pulls the binoculars away and sits up slightly. "Just great." Legend said sarcastically he didn't need binoculars to see what was happening on the other roof. Red stands up and notched an arrow, aiming for Ra's.

The Demon's Head doesn't even move, instead letting Sportsmaster step in front of him and use his staff to knock the arrow away.

Cheshire runs towards Red Arrow as the leader of the League of Shadows falls back into the cover from whence he came.

Red Arrow jumps down to the other roof, grunting from the impact as he lands. He finds his balance easily enough, notching another arrow as he runs, aiming for Cheshire.

He misses twice, but continues running without slowing down. She kicks off a statue to get herself on the roof with Red Arrow.

As she lands, she finds Legend facing her, Red was kneeling and his aim following her into her jump. She dodges the first but uses both her Sai to knock away the second and third.

Red Arrow stands up as he reaches back to his quiver again. "Hyah!" she cries out, trying to strike him, Legend grabs her and throws her away. Red shoots at her, She narrowly dodges the arrow this time, her hair got slightly cut in the back though.

She leads with a high left hook kick, that knocks away Red's bow, her Sai following the same path that gets blocked by Legends arm. In that moment, however, Cheshire knees Red in the stomach. He stumbles back but tries to strike her head with his bow, she drops under the attack and back kicks him in the gut.

She did a leg sweep on Legend, making him fall with a grunt. "aww, brings back memories." She says in a sultry tone.

Sportsmaster runs across the courtyard with a vaulting pole, he kicks into a high arc, and as he faces the Hero's, he releases a metal discus and throws it.

Cheshire continues to attack Red Arrow, each of them blocking and countering each other without pause. Until she suddenly stops and cocks her head slightly, before diving left. Red finally gets to see the discus only to see Legend get up, catch the discus, and throw it back at Sportsmaster who dodged.

Red barely catches Cheshire's kick from the corner of his eye. He dodged and Jumped over to the highest point of the roof to get to the opposite side.

He looks over to Cheshire who stands on the highest part of the roof on his left. However, Sportsmaster, who is facing Legend, turns to look at Red.

"I hear you go by Red Arrow now." Red can almost hear the taunt before he even continues. "Heh, more like Broken Arrow." Red's eyes narrowed beneath his mask.

Cheshire moves in slowly while Sportsmaster moves higher up on the roof followed by Legend, both his Bo staff being shifted to neutral positions with ease. Red sighs as he tilts his head down, then looks back at Cheshire. Seeing her standing completely relaxed and waving at him.

Sportsmaster throws his staffs at Legend who caught it and smirk at Sportsmaster. "Boom." Sportsmaster said as the staff exploded, knocking Legend to the ground.

Sportsmaster picks up the clone and runs towards the edge throwing him just as Red dives below the surface. Sportsmaster then through another staff into the water and two seconds later it exploded as well.

The masked blonde glares down at the water the two heroes fell into with his teammate and walks away as Cheshire steps up to glance down as well. She sees him walk away, but as he doesn't even pause, she glances back at the water for a long moment before finally following the other.

Red breaks the surface a far distance away from where he submerged, breathing heavily as he pulls himself and Legend out of the water. He crawls out and ends up lying down on the ground. Within seconds he sat back on his heels and taps his earpiece. "It's me." He says simply. "We may… possibly be in over our heads." He says glancing over to Legend who was on the ground taking several deep breath.

Back in Taipei, Red Arrow and Legend stand in a high story office with Lex Luthor and his bodyguard. "The League of Shadows wants you dead." Red states.

"Doesn't every league?" Lex teases the young men.

"It's not just Cheshire, it's also Sportsmaster and even Ra's al Ghul himself." Legend tries to get their point across.

Lex continues what he's doing, and his bodyguard helps him get his suit jacket on. "I can't say I'm surprised. Ra's is something of a, competitor of mine."

The white lenses of Red Arrow's mask narrow as he tries to keep his temper in check and figure out what Lex is trying to hide, since it's obviously big. "Then maybe we should stand aside and watch you take each other out."

"Your stab at pragmatism is, well, adorable." Lex smirks at the young men finally looking at him. "But the Summit and the peace are at stake, remember?" The taunt is clear in his voice as his bodyguard tightens his tie and looks away as Red marches towards him, stopped only by Legend grabbing his shoulder. "We'll increase security. Though if the Shadows think you're dead, maybe we can surprise them." Legend suggested.

"I've got a better surprise." There is a small flicker of a smirk on the corner of his lips. "Reunification is unthinkable!" Tseng shouts. "Our peoples no longer have anything in common." Li angrily agrees.

Sitting between the two of them at a long table is Lex Luthor. "Gentlemen, which is mere rhetoric." The green-eyed man says, calmly. "Despite your differences you still share an appreciation for many things such as the exquisite art of the Rhelasian Tea Ceremony." Both looked surprised that he mentioned the ceremony, but neither argues with his idea.

Behind the mass of reporters, a young woman with white face paint and a traditional red dress pushes a cart towards the stairs that currently separate the reports and the delegates. Aqualad and Legend turn around just before the woman reaches the reporters, brandishing a single Water Bearer. "That is far enough, Cheshire." Cheshire glares at the teen as she presses the button on the cart.

The reporters hear his accusation and gasp in shock.

The woman's eyes narrow at Aqualad, seeing Red Arrow step up behind Luthor. Cheshire leans forward slightly and presses a button on the handle of the cart and shoves it towards the Atlantean with a "Ha!"

Aqualad waves his Water Bearer in a strong arc with his own shout. Outside the building an explosion blows out the windows.

The gigantic room is shown from an aerial view near the head of one of the statues.

Time seems to slow as Aqualad pulls out his second Water Bearer, Legend moves to try and stop the cart, Red shifting his stance to take proper aim as the water from inside the glasses on the table start to rise up.

"Ha!" Cheshire cries out as she pushes the cart. Aqualad turns the rising water into a doming shield. Red takes aim at the cart and shoots right past Aqualad's shoulder and the rapidly dropping shield to hit the cart.

The explosion it creates throws Cheshire back. It also pushes against the barrier Aqualad is holding up, his tattoos take so much power that they rip the sleeves off his jacket, but it holds.

The room is silent as the shield falls, Aqualad's heavy breathing is easier to pick on. With the shield and the explosion, two of the statues fell to the ground before the shield, but they don't block Aqualad's view of a fallen Cheshire.

As she pushes herself to sit back Red, Legend and Aqualad make it over the statues. Red notched another arrow and Aqualad rips off the ruined remains of his jacket. "It is over, Cheshire." Aqualad says.

Cheshire smirks. "You would think so." As she stands a helicopter comes up to the hole in the window. The side door opens, showing off Sportsmaster and about ten plus henchmen. "You just had to say something." Legend says sarcastically.

"Zhuā zhù shāshǒu." (Stop the assassins) Tseng calls out to his guardsmen. Sportsmaster charged forward with the henchmen behind Sportsmaster him. The blonde man moving slowly, taunting the young men who stand defiantly before him.

Cheshire did a high backflip, blocking Red's shot at Sportsmaster as she brandishes both her sai. "You guys take care of Sportsmaster, I can handle Cheshire." Legend tells Aqualad and Red over the noise.

"So territorial, and only our third date." Cheshire taunts, completely ignoring Aqualad and Red as they run forward. She jumps into a high vaulted front flip, landing solidly behind her and take off towards Legend.

Red, ignoring Cheshire, fires three arrows at Sportsmaster, he caught all of them and threw to the ground. He then brought out a flail, he swung it at two. Red ducked down, avoiding it while Aqualad chose to flip backwards.

Dropping the flail, Sportsmaster looks to see Aqualad holding both his Water Bearers, shifting them into maces while Red notched another arrow.

As the teens charge at Sportsmaster he swings his arms back and moves them in broad, crisscrossing arcs. The first strike misses Sportsmaster, but with his movements and the fact that Sportsmaster had to jump back to avoid being hit again, Red is free to charge in closer with a battle cry and remain on the offensive.

Aqualad's next strike hits Sportsmaster's left forearm gaurd, but the hit still jars the man enough to make it obvious that he is extending a javelin.

Aqualad moves out the way as Sportsmaster moves in with Red at his left, giving him more than enough time to find his footing behind the man. The three circle each other.

Aqualad's left strike is blocked by Sportsmaster, he then crosses his arms in front of him to block Sportsmaster's next strike. Sportsmaster steps forward to strike at Aqualad's head, but the Atlantean easily slid out of the way giving Red an opening to shoot at Sportsmaster.

Meanwhile; Legend runs at Cheshire, arms open wide to grab her. Cheshire uses both her Sai to block his arms, Knocking the left arm away while changing her stance, and executing a back-walkover to knock away the right arm before dropping low to the ground. "You called one of your little sidekick friends. But didn't little Arrow say they weren't in his league?" She taunts loudly getting a grunt of frustration out of the clone.

Aqualad turns his head and pays the price for it as Sportsmaster clotheslines him. The blonde man hit Aqualad hard enough to flip him over, making him crash onto his stomach on the floor. The masked merc pauses, looking at the teen as he pulls out another flail. "Red Arrow, go protect the leaders." Aqualad orders, without saying a word, Red runs to the leaders, leaving Aqualad to face Sportsmaster alone.

The hard metal dented the stone floor. Sportsmaster quickly spins on it, then comes back down aiming for Aqualad's head. Aqualad rolls away to dodge the strike.

Around the rest of the room, Rhelasian soldiers fight off the masked henchman Sportsmaster brought with him. All in all, it's a madhouse.

The two Rhelasian leaders stand with Red and two guards on their sides, while Lex Luthor is the only one who remains seated, his bodyguard was standing unfazed as she glares out at the chaos before her.

Legend moves backward but runs out of room as he encounters the fallen statues. Stuck, with Cheshire charging at him, he raises his arms to block her strikes. Then swings at her head, which she drops under and switches into a handstand as her legs give her some breathing room from the clone.

As Legend tries to grab her, she lets her feet touch the ground before rocketing into a high jump, both her Sai ready to strike. She huffs a small breath before throwing her Sai at him, and Legend once again blocked it with his arm.

Sportsmaster strikes at Aqualad with his flail, but he evaded with a simple sidestep. The teen takes a few steps back and his Water Bearers become swords. As he brandishes them at Sportsmaster the man simply raises his flail, as if they are about to dual.

"Not bad, boy. Better than your team did at Santa Prisca or Bialya." He says casually.

Aqualad's stance doesn't move and his face doesn't change, but his voice gave it all away. "How did you-?"

"Let's just say I have an inside source. Very inside." He tells the teen. Narrowing his eyes as Aqualad shifts into an even stronger stance and Legend has now taken a spot-on top of the fallen statues. He sees something on the ceiling. "Aqualad, Red Arrow, let's end this." He says as Red releases an explosive arrow that hits the sprinklers.

Aqualad barely glances up as his tattoos glow, he raises his arms up and holds them out. From the shallow water, a twister rises up and becomes a serpent that charges at all of the henchmen that we're still standing.

Sportsmaster's eyes narrow, but Cheshire drops in front of him and puts on her mask. Pulling something from her back and threw it into the mouth of the beast. Aqualad lets drop down as Legend lands beside him, but as the smoke covers them, they start coughing.

From inside the dark smoke, mere inches in front of the teens, is the final henchman. Holding two swords and aiming for the Rhelasian leaders. "Mercy." Lex shouts out.

His bodyguard says nothing as she raises her arm, but it opens up to reveal a laser gun set up underneath her arm. The blast knocked the man to the ground with nothing more than a grunt.

Aqualad, Legend and Red turn back towards the window, finding Cheshire and Sportsmaster gone and no one else is moving.

The Rhelasian dignitaries look at Mercy in shock as her arm collapses back to hide the gun and if it wasn't for her torn sleeve there would be no visible evidence that she had done anything.

"Gives new meaning to the arms race, doesn't she?" Lex asks the men in a joking tone. Tseng and Li sigh in relief and share a laugh.

"That technology is most impressive, Luthor." Li tells the man. "We owe you our lives, sir." Tseng agrees, shaking hands with Luthor. "They owe him their lives?" Red asks Aqualad, feeling slighted. "What are we chopped liver." Legend asks sarcastically.

"Yes, quite a coup for Lex Luthor." Cat continues to broadcast. "Under his leadership North and South Rhelasia are signing a treaty which could eventually lead to reunification."

Aqualad, Legend and Red watch the signing and Luthor for a few more moments before they head towards the door. "I can't believe we just did a solid for Lex Luthor." Legend says with genuine surprise.

"Not for Luthor, for peace." Aqualad corrects. "Beyond that, if Ra's and the League of Shadows wanted to sabotage the Summit or the signing of the treaty this renders their contract moot." The three stop just before the first step outside. "It's finally over." Legend said.

"Is it?" Red asks skeptically. "I heard what Sportsmaster said. Do you really think there's a mole on your team feeding him intel?"

Aqualad shows none of his thoughts on his face but looks to Legend, they both turn to stare at the fountain. "We cannot rule out the possibility, I will investigate, quietly." "And I'll help you bud." Legend adds in, slapping Aqualad on the back and smiling.

Red raises an eyebrow. "Why not tell them?" He questions, shocked. Aqualad turns towards Red again. "I do not want the team falling apart over baseless suspicions. And if there is a mole, I have no wish to tip him or her off."

Red gives Aqualad a small salute and a slight smirk. "Good luck with that." "Thanks." Legend responds with a smile and salute of his own.

"One moment, my friend." Aqualad speaks up, making Red pause. "Tonight, you could have called Green Arrow for help or the Justice League. Instead, your first Instinct was to call the Cave."

"You're right. The Team deserves; has my respect." Red admits, turning towards Aqualad again. "I'm still getting used to this solo act stuff. But if you need me, I'll be there." This time he simply smiles. He offered his hand to the Atlantean, and the two shook on it. "Same goes for us, you need us, we'll be there for you too." Legend says while shaking hands with Red.

In the tower, Luthor pours two drinks. "That went well. Both Li and Tseng were quite impressed with Mercy's equipment and are quite literally buying into the peace." He turns away from the bar and to his guest. "Our plan to ensure the eventual reunification of Rhelasia under Lex Corp's political and economic guidance is a success." His guest takes his own offered glass.

Ra's al Ghul stands proudly before the billionaire. The two toast and Ra's says one last thing. "And thus, another corner of the world sees The Light."
