Chapter Twelve: Asha's Rescue
Now that the zebras were safely relocated, they could resume their grazing in peace.
Thurston: *sighs in relief* "Thank goodness, now we can finally eat again." He sighed in relief, always focused on his stomach.
But just then, they heard a small voice calling out through the rain. It was faint, but unmistakable.
Asha: *baby voice* "Someone help!" She cried, her words tinged with fear.
Kion: "That's Asha!" He exclaimed, his ears perked up.
Ono, soaring high above, immediately used his keen sight to scan the area. His heart sank when he spotted Asha, being swept away by the strong current of the river.
Ono: *gasps* "Hapana! Kion, Asha's being pulled into a river, and she's heading towards Maji Baridi Falls!" He gasped, his eyes widening in fear.
Kion: "Then we better go help her!" His expression turned serious.
Without wasting another second, Kion, Beshte, and Ono raced towards the river to save Asha.
Meanwhile, Asha continued to cry for help as she was swept through the rushing water.
Asha: *baby voice* "Help me!" She cried, her little voice trembling.
Bongo's heart raced as he saw his sister being dragged away by the water.
Bongo: "Don't worry, Asha! We'll save you!" He shouted.
"Just hold on!" Bobo added, his voice thick with concern.
Bunga: "Oh no, she's almost at the edge!" He shouted, his eyes wide with fear.
Fuli: "Not if I can catch her first! Huwezi!" She yelled.
She sprinted towards the riverbank, but the rain had made the ground slippery. Just as she neared the edge, she lost her footing.
Fuli: "Woah! Bongo, Bobo, hold on!" She cried out as she slipped and accidentally dropped the brothers. "Ughh." She groaned as she struggled to regain her balance.
But Bongo didn't hesitate. Without thinking, he dived straight into the river after Asha.
Bobo: "Bongo, what are you doing?! You can't swim very well!" He shouted, his voice filled with panic.
Bongo: "I don't care, I'm saving our sister!" He replied, determination flooding his voice.
Unlike his brother, Bobo was a strong swimmer, even for a baby baboon.
Bobo: "Wait for me, Bongo!" He called, diving into the river after him.
Bunga: "Fuli, come on, get up! We need to keep up with Bongo and Bobo." He ran up to Fuli, who was still getting back to her feet.
Fuli: "You're right." She said, shaking off the slip as she and Bunga sprinted alongside the river, trying to keep up with the brothers and Asha.
Just then, Kion, Beshte, and Ono arrived to help.
Fuli: "Guys, help!" She spotted them and shouted
Kion: "Beshte, swim after Bongo, Bobo, and Asha!" He ordered, quickly taking charge.
Beshte: "But Kion, the currents are too strong. I don't think I'm able to handle this much water." He shook his head, worry clear in his eyes.
Kion: "Then we have to find another way to save them." He frowned.
Bongo struggled to swim under the powerful currents, but he refused to give up. He had to save his little sister.
Bongo: "Don't worry, Asha! I'm coming for you!" He shouted, his muscles straining against the water.
Asha, desperately trying to stay above the water, but she was too small, and the force of the river pulled her under.
Asha: *baby voice* "Help…" She cried out weakly.
Bongo: "No." He whispered to himself, fear gripping his heart.
He took a deep breath and dove under, swimming as fast as he could. Asha was sinking deeper, her tiny body growing limp.
Bongo: "I'm not going to let you drown." He thought, shaking his head.
He wasn't going to let his little sister slip away. He swam faster, his strokes powerful as he finally reached Asha and wrapped his arms around her. He kicked hard and pushed himself towards the surface.
Bongo: *inhales* He gasped as they broke the surface, holding Asha tightly. She was unconscious, but he wasn't going to let her go. "It's okay, Asha. I've got you," He whispered, his voice filled with determination.
But the danger wasn't over. Bongo was nearing the edge of the waterfall, and Bobo knew he had to act fast.
Bobo: "Almost there." He muttered to himself, pushing through the water with all his strength. "Bongo, take my hand!" He finally caught up to Bongo and reached out.
Bongo reached out and grabbed Bobo's hand tightly.
Bobo: "I got you." He said, his voice calm but filled with relief.
Bongo: "Thanks, Bobo." He replied, holding Asha close.
But as they floated together, the roar of the waterfall grew louder. They were about to plummet over the edge. Bongo and Bobo closed their eyes, bracing for the fall, Bongo clutching Asha tightly.
Just then, Fuli appeared, grabbing both brothers by the scruffs of their necks with her teeth.
Bobo: "Huh?" He blinked in surprise.
Fuli: *muffled* "Don't worry, I've got you." She mumbled through clenched teeth, her voice filled with determination.
Bongo: "Thank you, Fuli." He said, his voice shaky with relief.
Fuli: *muffled* "You're welcome." She replied, her muscles straining as she struggled to hold onto all three of them.
But with the weight of Bobo, Bongo, and Asha pulling her down, Fuli started to slip on the wet ground.
Fuli: "Hrnnnng." She grunted, her paws digging into the earth.
Bunga: "I've got you, Fuli!" He shouted as he grabbed Fuli's tail, trying to steady her.
Kion rushed over and grabbed onto Bunga's tail to help. Together, they held on, trying to pull the baboons to safety.
Ono hovered near the edge of the waterfall, keeping an eye on the situation.
Ono: "Keep pulling, you guys! You're almost there!" He encouraged, his voice filled with urgency.
With one final pull, they managed to bring Bongo, Bobo, and Asha to safety, the three baboons finally out of danger.
