Franky reached Splatsville after about half an hour, as he stepped within city limits gasping for air, he quickly spotted more inklings. His theory proved incorrect after all, or so it would seem.

He decided that even though this place was full of possible threats, he was safer here than out in the desert, he could go back to his vault, but in the frantic escape from deep cut, he'd forgotten where it was. Plus, if he were to run into them again, he would probably be killed.

Franky stumbled through multiple alleyways, after 12,000 years of being in stasis, he was famished. He needed to find something if he was going to live any longer.

After a few minutes of searching, he found a food stand, whose owner was busy unloading boxes. Franky snuck over to swipe what they were selling, donut holes, not exactly the healthiest foodstuff but it's better than nothing. Franky told himself. He took a few and hurriedly popped one in his mouth, after a few chews his face turned green.

These were not donut holes.

They were takoyaki, and Franky was to say the least, not a fan of exotic seafood, but, it was the only thing he could find, so nevertheless he chocked through the mushy texture and ate the rest.

"Uuuoogh.. why do they even make those..?" Franky thought to himself. He felt sick, maybe he was allergic? Well, he wasn't hungry anymore at least.

Deep Cut arrived back into Splatsville not long after the human, they walked through alleyways until they stumbled upon the foodstand, the jellyfish worker running it seemed distressed.

"Looks like somebody stole some takoyaki." Shiver observed.

"Ay? (So they eat seafood?)" Big Man Ay-ed.

"This could be bad.." Frye added.

They quickly followed on the humans trail.

Franky, who was barely holding on to his previous meal, sneakily walked through the back alleys of Splatsville.

"Shelter." Franky thought to himself. "I'll need shelter." He couldn't handle heat very well, and this place was full of it. He gathered some abandoned blankets and pipes in hopes of making a makeshift tent, as he was building it, he heard something behind him, or rather..
Franky spun around to find,

"Squelyesh." Said an inkling who happened to stumble across Franky.

"Ah!" Franky shouted, he was dazed somewhat by what the heck the squid thing said.

"Awlolewethie?" The inkling muttered out again.

"H-huh? Wh-" Franky stuttered before a sharp pain enveloped his head.

"AAAUGH" he screamed grasping his head from the sheer pain

"Unknown language. Attempting translation." A disembodied voice spoke, it sounded like it was coming from.. inside his head?

"Translation Complete"

"Woah, hey are you alright?

The horrible pain in Franky's head stopped, he paused for a moment, did he hear that correctly?

"Hey, I'm talking to you!" The inkling said.

"What?" Franky responded.

"I said are you ok? You seemed to be hurting." The inkling repeated.

"I can understand you?" Franky muttered.

"Yeah.. something is definitely wrong with you." The inkling said confused.

"There he is!" A voice shouted from down the alleyway, it was Deep Cut.

"Oh no!" Franky yelled, jumping up to run.

"Wait! Come back!" Shiver yelled, all three of them giving chase.

Franky could understand them now, although he didn't know how. But he thought for sure they were going to kill him.

He turned a corner into a dead end with deep cut right behind him.

No way out.

"Unless.." Franky thought, looking at the old fire escape, could he make that jump? It's the only option he supposed.

Hopping up, barely grabbing the bottom of the ladder, he began climbing his way up when..

CREAK*

"Oh come on!" Franky said as the old and rusty ladder gave way, and Franky plummeted back down.

"AARGH" he screamed, smacking his head on the concrete below, immediately knocking him unconscious.

Shiver, Frye, and Big Man stood over him.

"Ay.. (Ouch, that had to hurt..) Big Man Ay-ed.

"We should take him somewhere safe now that we have the chance." Frye suggested.

"Yeah, hopefully he won't go crazy again when he wakes up." Shiver added.

"Uhh.." Franky woke up after a while, finding himself in some sort of bedroom, lifting himself out of the bed, he walked over to a nearby mirror, taking a look at himself. Other than a few scars, including one large stitched up scar through his hair on the side of his head, he seemed ok enough.

"Oh good! You're up!" A voice said behind him. Franky spun around to see Frye staring at him. He stepped back a few steps.

"Hey, don't worry. I'm not going to hurt you." Frye said more softly. She started slowly walking towards him holding her hand out.
Franky watched her carefully, she didn't seem to be holding any weapons so, maybe..

"My name is Frye. What's yours?" Frye said, attempting to shake the humans hand.

"f-f-Franky.." Franky reluctantly shook her hand.

"It's nice to meet you." Frye said. "Seriously, it's really cool seeing a real live human!"

"Heh.." Franky awkwardly chuckled, he doesn't really like too much attention put on him.

"Frye? Is the human awake?" Shiver opened the door to the room, answering her own question. "Oh hey, he is, he's not going to freak out again is he?"

"Don't kill me.." Franky blurted out, taking both of them off guard.

"Why would we kill you?" Shiver asked. "We were worried you might kill us."

"N-No! I just.." Franky stumbled over his words, his heart pounding from fear.

"You have nothing to be worried about, we're friendly." Frye consoled, calming Franky down.

"Ay! (Hello, human!)" Big Man, hearing the commotion, wobbled into the room.

"His name is Franky." Frye explained.

"Ay... Aay! (Oh... Hello, Franky!)" Big Man corrected.

Franky, startled by the 10 foot manta ray, gave a silent wave back.

"Aay? (Can he not talk?)" Big Man asked.

"He did take quite a fall." Shiver responded. "We patched you up, but that big scar with the stitches on your head was already there."

"It was? Where did it come from?" Franky asked. Deep Cut shrugged.

"We'll leave you alone for a minute, you're obviously still shaken, and besides, we need to do our splatcast." Frye explained. The three left the room.

Franky looked around the room and found a window, he had other ideas. In his paranoia, he thought about if they were faking being nice to trick him. Why else would they chase him across the city?! He jumped through the window to make his escape, running away into the outskirts of the city.
