Long ago, in the land of Nippon, the sun goddess Amaterasu, waged a great battle against Orochi but she wasn't alone. For in their latest clash Orochi had a maiden named Nami and a swordsman named Nagi was right beside her.

"Raaagh!" Nagi yelled slicing final Orochi's head in half. Together with the sun goddess, Amaterasu, he'd saved the one he loved. "It's over." He said turning towards the cage that housed Nami. He saw the divine wolf girl slice at the lock freeing her.

As Amaterasu smiled at their reunion, none of the group saw that Orochi had regenerated a single head. The head looked at Nagi and reared its head back and prepared to strike. Isshaku, Amaterasu's celestial envoy at the time, saw this.

"Ammy, Orochi regenerated a head. He's aiming for Nagi." The sun goddess leapt into action just as Orochi lunged at the unsuspecting Nagi and Nami. "Look out!" she cried

Amaterasu took the hit and flew past Nagi catching the man's attention. Whipping around, Nagi's eyes widened before he drew his sword again.

"Impossible." He said before a white, and red blur came down from the roof and went past Orochi's head.

Nagi watched as the head fell from the neck. He turned to face the person that had vanquished Orochi, hopefully for good as they approached the hurt and unconscious Amaterasu.

The person wore a cloak, hood, and was clad in white armor. His armor was adorned with markings similar to Amaterasu's.

"Who are you?" Nagi asked defensively. The figure glanced up at him revealing them to have amber eyes. The figure then spoke.

"I am Hisaki." It said in a masculine voice before lowering its hood. Nagi and Nami took a step back. The man had Black hair, but what stood out was the pair of cat ears atop his head. "I'm the Guardian of the Sun Goddess. I thank you swordsman for fighting in my place."

The man bowed. "however, this is where we part ways. Lady Amaterasu and I must return to the Celestial Plains, but worry not. Should Nippon fall into darkness again. We, or our chosen shall be there to fight."

With that, Nagi watched as Hisaki and Amaterasu turned into bright lights and shot off into the sky. Nagi and Nami looked at each other before departing with a tale to tell.

A hundred years passed by and Nagi's descendant, Susanoo, not believing in the legend yanked his ancestor's sword out, releasing Orochi's spirit allowing him to regenerate and spread his evil. Our story begins not in Nippon, but in another land entirely where Hisaki's descendant lived.

Beacon

Ruby was laying on her bed going over some notes before bed while her team mulled about. Blake was reading whilst fiddling with a necklace that she said was an heirloom that'd been in her family for generations.

On the necklace was a disk with the kanji for 'guardian' carved into it. The necklace also had white and red beads with red swirling patterns on the white beads.

"Tomorrow's the weekend guys. What'd you want to do?" Ruby asked her friends and sister. "Study." Weiss said making everyone groan.

"Weiss, can we go one weekend without doing that?" Yang said scowling. "No! we need to keep our grades up. If it means doing homework over the weekend so be it." The heiress said before receiving a one finger salute from Yang and pillow to the face from Blake.

"Weiss, it's been a long week for all of us. And as leader I declare that tomorrow we'll relax and Sunday afternoon we study, sound fair?" Ruby said. "Does to me." Yang said. Blake nodded. Weiss scowled shook her head disapprovingly.

CELESTIAL PLAIN

"Lady Amaterasu, darkness has fallen upon Nippon yet again." The guardian of the sun goddess said after kneeling before a woman with wolf ears. She had long silver hair that gradually turned black towards the bottom giving the image of an ink-stained brush.

Her skin was porcelain white with red tattoos covering her face and body. She wore a white kimono with red trimming and markings similar to her wolf form she often used outside of Nippon.

Amaterasu chuckled. "Hisaki, please call me Ammy." The goddess said, humor in her voice. "But." Hisaki began to say. "But nothing. Waka can complain all he wants, but you're the one I chose to be with." Amaterasu said holding one of the cat Faunus' hands.

"Very well, Ammy." Hisaki said before blinking. "You know that's actually a little weird calling you that." Amaterasu giggled before her golden gaze hardened.

"You said that Nippon's fallen to darkness again?" she asked sternly. Hisaki nodded. the goddess then briskly marched to a pool that she and her guardian often used to keep watch over Nippon in times of peace.

"From what I saw, Sakuya plans to summon you and I." Hisaki said making Amaterasu freeze and place a hand on the spot where Orochi had struck her before her lover sealed him away by beheading the regenerated head.

"I know you haven't fully recovered yet, but what choice do we have." Hisaki said. "Actually, we do have a choice." The goddess said catching his attention.

"I can choose someone pure of heart to take my place and heed the call remember." Hisaki's eyes widened. "the legend of the Sun Priestess." He said before snatching a scroll and opening it.

"When the mother of all is too hurt to heed the call of the defenseless, she sends her disciple, the sun priestess. With her scythe, the priestess reaps the land and purifies it of darkness." Hisaki read aloud. "Like her master, the sun priestess isn't without a protector. Another guardian that has the blood of her master's protector."

Hisaki and Amaterasu glanced at the image of a girl with red tipped white hair in a black kimono wielding a scythe-like variant of Divine Retribution.

The two looked at each other before heading to the viewing pool to search for the Sun Priestess.

BEACON

Night fell and the team prepared for bed. Ruby glanced at Blake. "Hey Blake, I was wondering, what's the story behind your necklace?" she asked. Blake paused clearly thinking.

"it was my great-grandfather's. he was a swordsman in a land called Nippon. He gave it to my grandfather, Haru, before vanishing. The emblem means guardian by the way." She said.

"Nippon? Is that a kingdom?" Weiss asked. "not a kingdom, a land. It's where my family originally came from. Unfortunately, you won't find it on any map." The cat Faunus said before getting in bed unaware the kanji was glowing.

CELESTIAL PLAIN

"Is that her?" Amaterasu said looking between the imagine in the scroll and at ruby. "the colors definitely match, and from her combat classes shows her preferred weapon is a scythe. She's also kind and her energy seems pure." Hisaki said before the vision switched to Blake.

"So, that's my descendant." The sun goddess' guardian mused "She's beautiful." Amaterasu gushed. "Just don't freak her out when we summon them Ammy ok. We don't know how she'll handle the knowledge of having a goddess for a relative will do to her.

The sun goddess deflated slightly. "Right, there's that." She then perked back up. "time to get to work."

Back in beacon Blake and Ruby's sleeping forms glowed slightly before fading. While their bodies remained, their minds and souls didn't.

"Care to collect our guests Hisaki?" Amaterasu asked brushing her hair making Hisaki raise an eyebrow. "I want to look presentable." The guardian shook his head smiling in amusement before raising his hood and going to retrieve his descendant and the sun priestess.

Blake groaned hearing her leader's voice which for some reason sounded frantic. "Blake, wake up." Ruby exclaimed. "it's too early ruby. Go back to bed." The faunas groaned out.

"But Blake, we aren't in our dorm!" Ruby said frantically. This caused Blake's eyes to shoot open. She looked around.

True to Ruby's word, they weren't in their dorm, but rather a flat plains. The Faunus frowned. The way it looked was similar to the stories of the goddess Amaterasu's home; The Celestial Plains. "Ruby, Call me crazy, but I think I know this place." The Faunus said

"Where are we?" her team leader asked. "From what I can tell, we might be in the place of Nippon legend known as the Celestial Plains." Blake said noticing that she and Ruby were wearing yukatas worn by her ancestors that lived in Nippon, yet they looked somewhat off..

"Whoa. What are we wearing?" Ruby asked. "Yukatas, they appear to be similar in looks to my ancestors' clothing in Nippon, but appear to be a bit more… Regal."

Ruby frowned. "Regal?" she asked. "Royalty, and no, I'm not a princess, even by ancestral standards. The Belladonnas left Nippon when my Grandpa and grandma left the land." Blake said.

"Is that so, little kitten?" came a voice making both jump. Turning, both friends saw a hooded figure approaching them.

The girls got into defensive stances, despite not having their weapons. "easy, I'm not an enemy." He said raising his hands in surrender. "Prove it." Blake said. the cat Faunus frowned slightly when the hooded stranger smiled slightly.

"Blake, he hasn't drawn those swords he has, so he's at least a little trustworthy." Ruby said. "Ok, I'm Ruby, and this is-." The hooded person interrupted her. "Blake Belladonna." He said lowering his hood.

Blake's eyes widened in shock. "Blake, he looks like a male version of you, save for no eyeliner and the hair length." Ruby said shocked.

The male cat Faunus laughed slightly. "I certainly hope so otherwise I'd be having a chat with Lady Amaterasu." Ruby furrowed her eyebrows. "Amaterasu?"

"The sun goddess my family and the people of Nippon worship." Blake said, eyes not leaving the man before them. Ruby grew concerned.

"Blake, you ok?" She asked before her teammate glanced at her then back at the man in front of them. "Oh, forgive me Ms. Rose. You've introduced yourself and yet I haven't." the man said playfully berating himself.

"I am Lady Amaterasu's protector; Hisaki. Hisaki Belladonna." Ruby slowly turned to Blake. "Um, you wouldn't happen to be related to him would you Blake?"

Blake, without looking, answered her. "Yes, we are. He's my Great-Grandfather."

A/N: CLIFFHANGER! Thus begins my first Okami crossover. This story was actually inspired by two sources. One being a crossover idea I had between Naruto and Okami. The other being an Okami/RWBY crossover called Okami Rose by Nahte123456.

This story will use some elements of Okami Rose, yet not all, as you'll see next chapter. Please read and review. I appreciate constructive criticism, I disapprove of troll reviews and will delete them. That being said; peace.
