"Choso?" I say walking up to Yuji's room at Jujutsu High.

"Hey Naomi." He says in his usual unenthusiastic tone.

"Everything okay?" I ask.

"He hasn't come out in days." Choso says sighing and crossing his arms. "Only to use the bathroom...I think..." he says.

I look to the floor outside of his door and see the tray of food sitting there. I knew he was having a really hard time with himself, but I didn't know it was this bad.

I sigh, "let me see if I can talk to him."

"Good luck. Even I can't get through to him." He says moving to make room for me.

"Stay here. I'll be back." I say entering the room after a gentle knock, followed by silence.

"Yuji?" I say looking around the dark, messy room. He isn't on the bed. He actually has no bed. The mattress is gone and the frame is broken.

Clothes are strewn throughout the room, torn and tattered, like he ripped them off his own body. Shattered glasses, bowls, and plates litter the floor. The computer he had is busted, and the poster he had hanging is ripped off the walls, accompanied by claw marks. It looks like he's been through hell. I should have never left him alone.

"Yuji?" I say again focusing on a small dark figure huddled in the corner of the room. He doesn't turn to face me. Isn't acknowledging my presence at all. The one thing he does is twitch every now and again.

"Hey." I say approaching him slowly and crouching down next to him.

"Naomi." He says in a deeper tone than usual.

"Yuji..." I say trembling, because it sounded a lot like...

He turns to look at me, with crazed eyes. I've seen this look before. It was the look he had when he ate Sukuna's heart. When he defeated him. When he defeated Mahito too. He's stuck, back there. At that moment is where he is, and for how long who knows. I have to pull him out of it.

"Yuji, we aren't there anymore. We're home, we're-" I say before he grabs my wrist and twists, my body going with it.

I land on my back and he hops up quickly sitting on top of me. He smiles as he wraps his hands around my neck, squeezing and laughing.

"I have you, Sukuna. There's no escape now!" He says laughing like a maniac. I try to grab his arms, try to use my cursed technique to neutralize his cursed energy, maybe chill him out, but he pinned my arms to the floor with his knees.

"You cannot win Sukuna! I have you, and I'm not letting you go this time! You are me. Scared and alone. A mad dog, begging to be put down. YOU ARE ME!" He says with rage.

"Yuji!" I hear Choso say pulling him off of me.

I catch my breath and Choso holds him back.

"Let me go!" He says like a deranged dog.

I lunge for him and catch his ankles, draining his cursed energy from him. This should keep his strength down for a while. His laughing slows and his eyes soften slowly. They become heavy as the energy drains completely until he's knocked unconscious.

I take a deep breath and lean against the wall. "Thanks." I say to Choso.

"Yeah, no problem." He says.

"Well, this isn't good. I had no idea how bad he was. I should have never left him." I say.

"You couldn't have known this would happen." He tells me.

"I should have been there for him." I say.

"You were. As much as he would let you." He says.

I sigh and shake my head, "c'mon. Let's call Satoru and tell him, try and get him somewhere safe." I say.

Choso picks him up and carries him to the car. I stand at the trunk as I call Satoru to ask what we should do with him. He's too unpredictable to leave in the house around Niko.

"Hey." He says when he answers.

"Hey, so we have a problem." I say.

"What's up?" He asks.

"Well, Yuji is worse than we thought." I say.

Satoru scoffs, "really? How?"

"Yeah. He, well he lost himself. He thought I was Sukuna and..." I say before looking away, too hurt to finish my sentence.

Satoru sighs, "I'll talk to him. Evaluate him tomorrow. Bring him to the front of Jujutsu High. I'll be there in a sec to take him to the dark room. We'll have to chain him up until we find out more." He says.

I sigh, "alright. Right back to where we started. Except with an awakened Yuji this time. Meet you in a sec." I say.

"I love you." He says.

"I love you too." I say smirking.

I tell Ijichi to drive in front of jujutsu high. He pulls around to meet an already waiting Satoru Gojo. He's in a black shirt with baggier casual jeans and a khaki button up shirt that is unbuttoned. Not his usual uniform he wears to work.

"How is he now? He awake?" Satoru asks.

"No. Naomi knocked him out. He's in the back of the car." Choso explains.

Satoru nods, "alright. I'll take him." Satoru says picking Yuji up by the back of his shirt and pants and kissing my cheek as he walks by. "I'll be home soon love. Megumi is with Niko."

I nod, "alright. I love you." I say.

"I love you too." He says.

And with that, they're gone.

Choso turns to me and scratches the back of his neck, "what now?" He asks.

"I'll talk to Yuji with Satoru in the morning. Figure out what state of mind he's in. Once we determine that, we'll go from there." I say.

He nods, "i'll remain here then. We are still planning on finding tengen's remains and proceeding with the star plasma vessel." He says.

I nod, "keep me updated."

"Any updates on the Kenjaku situation?" He asks.

"No, unfortunately. Yuta said he swears there was no way he could have lived, but there's reason to believe his will lives on. The United States knows about sorcerers, and they're coming for us. Satoru's been working with the government on the new department for sorcerers, but our enemies have become resourceful because of Kenjaku. They've started hunting for sorcerers in other countries." I say.

"You think they'll attack?" Choso asks.

"That's what Satoru and I think so far. They've been kidnapping people, training them from what our intelligence suggests. And not just the U.S. but a lot of other countries too. They want to lay claim to the 'unlimited power' it could pose." I say.

Choso sighs, "humans never rest do they?"

"I suppose neither do curses. In the end we all never change. Constantly battling over something, never peace." I say tiredly.

He nods, "well, I'll head back to my room. Get some rest Naomi. And one more thing?" He says before turning.

"Yeah?" I say.

"Can you tell Todo to stop calling and asking when Yuji can hang out? It's getting annoying. He isn't even his brother." Choso says grumbling.

I chuckle, "i'm not sure if I can come between Todo and Yuji. That's a brotherhood no one can break I think."

Choso sighs, "a wannabe more like."

I tell Choso goodbye and hop in the car. Ijichi takes me home and I wait for Satoru to return. I take Niko from Megumi when I walk in the house and kiss his forehead as I hold him on my hip. His father beautiful blue eyes stare into mine as he smiles. I hug him tight and take him to bed.

When I head to our room, I sit on the bed and think of today. Hopefully, the remnants of Sukuna's soul haven't made any huge impacts on Yuji. The kid's been through enough. He deserves a quiet life, surrounded by the ones he loves.
