Subject: New Hire

Hi Carter,

Hope this email finds you well. Just wanted to share some thoughts on our new coworker. I finally met her, and let me tell you, she's quite the mystery. Soft-spoken, with an air of enigma around her, not to mention, she's American! It's hard to predict how she'll fare here; she could either struggle or seamlessly blend in. Personally, I'm rooting for the latter. Despite her reserved nature, I found her to be rather sweet. I'm curious to hear your take on her!

Cheers,

Margaret

P.S. - I think I have to cancel for Friday. My roommate broke up with her boyfriend, so I have to make sure she doesn't do anything stupid.

Hey Margaret,

Personally, I don't know that I would call Sasha's change of position a promotion. If you are referring to her upward relocation, then yes, but if not, I think being an archival assistant sounds like a special kind of torture.

And yes, I met her the other day! There's something about her—she has this tendency to fade into the background when you're not looking. Kind of weird, but I guess that's your type, right? You also find anything with boobs, arms, and legs to be palatable. I am sure the added foreign touch really adds another thing for you to drool over.

Best,

Carter

P.S. - Next Friday
Subject: RE: RE: New Hire

Hi Carter,

Did you see where she's taken up residence? I don't think office companionship bodes well for us, even if I did find her to have "boobs, arms, and legs."

It is a shame though. I wish her luck.

Best,

Margaret

P.S. - Are we still hitting the pub Friday?

Subject: Helen

Hey Marg,

Is it just me, or is Helen kind of really good at her job. What are her qualifications, and why is someone as nervous as her kind of intimidating? I feel like she may or may not be homeschooled, that or malsocialized.

Also, is it normal for her to meet so frequently with Mr. Bouchard?

Best,

Carter

P.S. - Are we drinking to Mr. Bouchard or Martin this next
Subject: RE: Helen

Hi Carter!

So glad you asked. She's so weird. I was trying to chat her up the other day (I know, I braved No Man's Land), and I noticed she has like actually the worst handwriting ever. It's worse than yours. You should see it sometime. I think she's been taking notes and writing up reports on artefacts? I don't really know or care to know. Everything in that room feels like it's alive.

The other day, I had just worked up the courage to approach, but instead I came across one of the artefacts she was researching. I swear Carter, I had the worst day after that. I was so dizzy. I haven't felt so sick since my ex-girlfriend poisoned me that one time.

Best regard,

Margs

P.S. - I would say Bouchard, but Martin's living arrangements sound like prime material for our next drinking session.
Subject: RE: RE: Helen

Yeah, I think she meets up with Elias to go over her research or something.

Also, excuse me. I am going to need to get a few drinks in you and hear more about this ex of yours. You always pick the fucking crazies.

I will say, sometimes I drop by there, and I swear some awful thing follows me out. Next time, you should just leave. I'll cover for you if anyone asks. No point to stay in the office if you're feeling near poisoned.

Cheers,
Cars

P.S. - You're so right. Definitely saving Martin anecdotes for our next round.

Subject: Hear Me Out

Hi Carter,

I know we have been avoiding her and No Man's Land like the plague, but maybe we should try to talk to her more. I mean, she gets along well with Martin and Tim, so she can't be too bad. We probably made her feel really bad too by avoiding her so much. Even if it really sucks, I would like to try to talk to her a bit more. I feel like we haven't been very sociable with her.

Best,

Carter

P.S. - I have been noticing she gets even more jumpy lately? She is quite pale. I just worry with all those artefacts she's around that something bad will happen to her.
Subject: RE: Hear Me Out

Hi Margaret,

You might be right. However, I feel the need to point out that Martin will serve literally anyone a cup of tea. It is hard not to get along with him. Also, Tim is just as bad as you when it comes to potential possible romantic prospects. I would not use the two of them as a standard of measurement at all.

Despite my personal feelings, I have taken your advice, and tried to talk to her. Note, tried. She was crying, and I chickened out. It has occurred to me that we might be horrible people.

Sadly,

Carter

P.S. - Those bandages? Definitely raising red flags.
Subject: RE: RE: Hear Me Out

Hi Carter,

Mr. Bouchard had a short meeting with me the other day. He asked that the both of us try to get along with her more for her own sake and ours and something blah something about creating a positive workplace environment. I wanted to tell him where he could stick it, but he is our boss, so I did not.

Sadly,

Margaret

P.S. - No! She was wearing her coat when I saw her. You'll have to tell me more next time we drink.

Subject: Helen in Absentia

Hi Marg,

I will be the first to say I am concerned. Have you noticed her absence? Should one of us say something?

Best,

Carter

P.S. - No more Long Islands for you, seriously.
Subject: RE: Helen in Absentia

Hey Carter,

I've been wondering the same thing. Spoke to Elias, and he mentioned she's on personal leave. Something serious must have come up. Let's hope she's okay.

Take care,

Margaret

P.S. - Who needs Long Islands when we've got office mysteries to solve? And Mr. Sims? That's a story I can't wait to hear.

Subject: Helen in Absentia, Pt. Two

Carter,

I am going to lose my fucking marbles. Things have been so much creepier and creaky and evil and gross in her absence. We have to get her back. How much longer do you think she will be away? We have had so many new Helen artefacts come in too, and they're just piling up in there.

Not my best,

Margaret

P.S. - Drink every time someone you work with is accused of murder.
Subject: RE: Helen in Absentia, Pt. Two

Hi Margaret,

I wish I knew what we could do. What if she gets promoted like Sasha did? She's the best thing that ever happened to us.

Plotting,

Cars

P.S - Drink every time someone who works at the institute ominously disappears.
