"Aw fudge! I left Mytyl alone in my room!" Naomi shrieked.
She jumped of her mother's lap, opened the door and ran off to check on her sister. After opening her bedroom door, Naomi saw that Mytyl was sitting on her bed and swinging her legs.
"I'm so sorry! Are you okay!? I didn't mean to leave you on your own!" Naomi apologized.
"So it's true. You really are working for the Sumeragi again." Mytyl sobbed.
"Oh no, oh no no no no no. Look, it's fine Mytyl, it's completely fine. Nobody's in harms way." Naomi assured.
"Your boss is a big meanie!" Mytyl ranted.
"He's actually really ni-" Naomi couldn't finish her sentence because she looked up and saw Asimov.
He raised his right eyebrow in question.
"She didn't mean a word of what she just said I swear." Naomi promised with her left hand over Mytyl's mouth.
"It was inefficient of me to send you to do that mission." Asimov remarked.
"Are you apologizing to me or to the company?" Naomi wondered.
"It wasn't a good idea to try and send you out to do that. Especially considering the data they have on you." Asimov added.
"Apology accepted. But now you just got me in even more trouble. Nova told me not to-" Naomi looked down and saw Mytyl clinging to her waist in fear.
She had her arms around Naomi's waist. Now it was Naomi's turn to raise her brow in concern. Hoping to get an answer quicker, Naomi squatted to Mytyl's height and started squeezing her cheeks with her hands.
"Now, how in the flippin' heck, of all people, do you know 'bout Nova?" Naomi questioned.
"The news." Mytyl answered through squished cheeks.
Naomi stopped squishing Mytyl's cheeks, stood up, yawned and stretched her arms up behind her head.
"I'm sorry, but now you've gotten me in trouble too. If anyone at the Sumeragi finds this out, we're all gonna be in some serious mess." Naomi droned.
Naomi put Lola in her charger as Mytyl sat on Naomi's bed.
"I'm pretty sure I don't have to say anything for you to know this visit caught me off guard," Naomi commented as she tugged at the collar of her pajama shirt. "But I'm also aware that you wouldn't pop up out of the blue for no reason. So, what is it that made you decide to visit? Especially at this particular time?" Naomi noted.
"I take it you didn't see the text message I sent you." Asimov noticed.
'Uh oh. Ugh, Naomi, you're so stupid! Mr. Schaeffer called me a while back and said he hoped I wouldn't be working for the Sumeragi the next time we talked! Wait a heckin' nanosecond, me going to the principals office at Kadic was an even worse idea! I might as well have said I was working for them! That's practically what I did! Not to mention everybody at work as well as the Lyoko team knows too! Why can't I not do what I'm supposed to do!?' Naomi mentally ranted.
"It seems you didn't get the message then." Asimov confirmed.
Naomi shook her head to get rid of the thoughts plaguing her.
"No, I'm sorry, I didn't see it. Sumeragi's been givin' me a rough time." Naomi responded.
After pulling up the text from Asimov, Naomi was baffled.
"You were going to fire me if I didn't respond!? For a little while I was't allowed to contact anybody outside of the Sumeragi! And you could've called if you felt it was so important!" Naomi hissed.
"It seems they've gotten more secretive." Asimov supposed.
"And a lot more defensive." Naomi agreed.
"How's your mission going?" Asimov wondered.
"It's going great, but why are you making me do this? We get the data we need from our monthly hacks." Naomi added.
"The Sumeragi's been giving us a tougher time trying to get into their systems. We need someone on the inside to send us the data." Asimov reminded.
"Isn't there a better way to do this? Besides that, Nova's already onto me. In the elevator he asked me if I was a hundred percent certain about working for the Sumeragi and wasn't involved with QUILL anymore. He'll probably report me or something." Naomi cried.
"We'll get this sorted out soon." Asimov stated.
The following morning, Asimov told everyone at QUILL what he found out.
"I said that plan would lead to nothin' but trouble." Zeno retorted.
"Can we back her out now?" Moniqa hoped.
"Tonight we'll get her out. Zeno, you'll do recon. Moniqa, you'll guide him. And GV, you'll be the one to retrieve Naomi. Afterwards, we'll have her stay home until we know everything's secure." Asimov informed.
"Sounds great, but uh, when do we go?" Zeno questioned.
"Tonight." Asimov verified.
Moniqa was questioning whether or not she should contact Naomi and tell her about their new attempt to save her. At the same time, Nova found the wiretapping device.
"What is this? It definitely wasn't here before." Nova pondered as he examined the piece.
He soon found the QUILL emblem engraved in it. Nova's suspicion instantly fell on Naomi. He sent for a Sumeragi soldier to inform Naomi that he requested-if not demanded- her audience. After hearing that, Naomi's stomach began churning. She began running through as many possible escape methods as she could think of. Suddenly, the remembrance reoccured regarding the tracking chip. She didn't care at that point though. Naomi had her fair share of suffering under the Sumeragi as well.
'At this point I might as well use the orbital elevator. Distractions are't neccessary.' Naomi supposed.
That's when Naomi's phone started ringing.
