She also covered her own mouth as if doing so could have prevented Nori from revealing that secret.
"She couldn't even protect Joule." Copen rebuked as he pointed an accusing finger at Naomi.
"You did it in the middle of the night! While I was sleeping all just so you could get me to come back here for your own selfish desires!" Naomi yelled.
"Well if you wouldn't have left then none of this would've happened!" Copen seethed.
"So what!? Did you expect me to work for the Sumeragi for the rest of my life!? You've seen the damage they're capable of!" Naomi hollered.
Now Mytyl moved herself behind Nori for better protection.
"That's enough you two." Nori warned.
"No!" Naomi debated as she shook her head, folded her arms and looked at Nori from over her right shoulder. "Copen needs to learn that everything can't go his way! And that shooting everyone that gets in his way or makes him mad won't solve anything!" Naomi protested.
"I'm not asking you to quit working for QUILL. I'm just saying that it would be better if you worked from home." Copen insinuated.
"I can't do that because there's special equipment I can only get from work. And besides, we have only about two hundred workers globally, most of which can't do field work." Naomi stated.
"That Xiao guy you work with has a Septima but doesn't work on the field. Shouldn't you be able to do the same thing?" Copen queried.
"I can't, Xiao's Septima can't help him defeat any enemies so he isn't allowed to fight. We need all the field workers we can get." Naomi explained.
"What about you then?" Copen pondered.
"You've seen what my Septimas can do. If you need, I can give you a reminder of just how powerful they are." Naomi smirked.
"If there's anything needed here, it's for someone to put you in your place." Copen huffed.
Naomi was gritting her teeth as her face grew red with rage.
"Did you seriously not hear a word I just said!? Is it that there's a gap between your ears or a lack of common sense?" Naomi mocked.
"I don't think you have any right to say that. Considering your lack of listening to others and having the manners of a pig." Copen disputed.
"Me!? You're worried about me right!? Is that how it is!? Because you can't say anything since you don't have the decency to not go around killing people!" Naomi ranted.
"Pig." Copen muttered.
"Jerk." Naomi retorted.
"Traitor." Copen spoke.
"Freak." Naomi fumed.
"Monster." Copen snarled.
"Tyrant." Naomi growled.
"Abomination." Copen hissed.
"Forget it, I'm not wasting my time on a hopeless lost cause who doesn't even realize he's a nut case with a few screws loose and many monkeys short of a barrel. Maybe one day he'll realize all this monkeying around isn't doing him any good and he'll get an actual job." Naomi commented before storming off.
"And maybe one day she'll realize she's running on a treadmill in life and not actually going anywhere." Copen rebuked.
Naomi turned around and went right back to where she was standing. Copen remained unmoving.
"Like you can say anything. Says the exhausted rat in a hamster wheel who's not even making any progress in his life." Naomi rebelled.
"At least I have a life to speak of." Copen snapped.
"At least I'm not heartless." Naomi added.
"You don't even use it." Copen stated.
"At least I'm making an effort to improve my life! I can't say the same for you." Naomi seethed.
"At least my efforts are actually working." Copen ranted.
"This problem of yours will still be around even after you're dead." Naomi revealed.
"Yeah, and you're a part of it." Copen muttered.
"At least I don't go out of my way to be rude to people." Naomi rambled.
"At least I don't drop my problems, siblings or responsibilities on someone else." Copen protested.
"At least when I get a job done it's completely finished." Naomi rebuttled.
"At least I don't run from my problems." Copen mocked.
"Well neither do I. I'm staring at one right now as a matter of fact." Naomi grinned.
"You make trouble for yourself." Copen lied.
"You make trouble for yourself just by existing." Naomi grimaced.
Nori rolled her eyes and ushered Mytyl into the kitchen for some more cookies and milk. Practically everyone heard the fussing. Feeling that she would've gotten further by talking to a brick wall, Naomi went back to work. She bought Zeno a piece of tiramisu, Gunvolt got a bag of fish jerky, Xiao a random comic book, Quinn a new apron (a replica of the one that Gunvolt got her), Moniqa would recieve a marriage tie charm and Asimov would get a bottle of cologne.
Joule would be getting a box of chocolate chip cookies left from Naomi's place. The shopping spree cost the now broke girl 4,510.40 yen. Going into work with the bags, Naomi put them on her desk. Zeno was the first to notice and walked over.
"Ay man, what's all this junk for?" Zeno asked.
"I guess you're not getting the piece of tiramisu I got you with that attitude." Naomi teased.
"You're just messing with me anyways so I don't care." Zeno scofed.
Naomi shoved a box with four squares of tiramisu in it towards her skeptical coworker.
"I'm sorry I ever doubted you." Zeno apologized as he took the container back to his desk.
Naomi got the charm out of the mint green paper bag and looked for the intended recipient. Three quarters of the way to Moniqa, Naomi noticed Moniqa looked over her shoulder to see the charm.
