Naomi tapped on Moniqa's shoulder to give the aforementioned coworker her present. Moniqa completely turned around and graciously accepted the gift.
"N-Naomi? W-where did you get this from?" Moniqa stuttered, her face starting to turn grapefruit flesh pink.
"Well, I know you wanted one. I don't believe in this kind of stuff though. But it was the only thing I could think of getting you." Naomi droned with her hand clasped behind her back.
"I never did ask and I hope this isn't a taboo subject. What religion do you believe in?" Moniqa pondered.
"Catholisism. With all the silver lining, the overwhelming sins, I've found solace in going to church and reading the bible. The stories in there have a lot of action too, just how I like my books. All of the things in there actually happened and it's great to read with a cup of hot chocolate. It's taken a huge weight of my shoulders knowing I've got extra help with my struggles." Naomi answered.
Moniqa gave a sigh of relief.
"It's nice to know I'm not the only one here who feels that way. Asimov said almost the exact same thing earlier when I asked him before you came. Xiao and GV didn't understand a thing I said to them about it." Moniqa added.
"I think Nori would agree. She totally flipped when Mytyl tried to give her a good luck charm. Maybe that's why, since you're not supposed to believe in things like that." Naomi laughed.
After waving to Moniqa, Naomi put the bag of fish jerky in GV's hand and gave Xiao the comic. While the two were chatting, Asimov walked over.
"Naomi, you're supposed to be writing the file on the mass Sumeragi employee resurrection. Why are you over here talking to Xiao?" Asimov interrogated.
Naomi handed Asimov the cologne bottle and asked for fiteen more minutes.
"Five and no more." Asimov declared before walking off.
Naomi walked over to GV and gave him the cookies for Joule. When he asked Naomi if she'd stop by the apartment and visit, she said she didn't want to cause anymore trouble than she already had.
"Man, the boss ain't letting up with you. It seemed like it started after you came back." Zeno noticed.
"Yeah. Honestly, if I would've known he'd be like that I would've stayed at Sumeragi." Naomi sneered.
Luckily, Asimov was out of earshot when she said this. When she was finished with work, Naomi decided to call Jeremy. It was 5:45 in the morning in France so they'd be already awake.
"Hey Jeremy, I'm so sorry I haven't been calling. I've been so busy plotting how to get back at Asimov that I totally forgot to call you back." Naomi apologized.
"It's okay, I understand. How was the mission? From our viewpoint it was terrible." Jeremy worried.
Naomi held her head up with her hand on her forehead.
"I can't even begin to explain how much of a devastation that excursion brought to the company." Naomi moaned.
"R-really? How bad was the effects?" Jeremy stuttered fearfully.
"I don't even know where to begin explaning, other than the beginning, that'll work. Asimov wanted me to go undercover at Sumeragi so I could gain access to their more secretive information. That definitely didn't happen. All I figured out was that Nova now has the Azure Striker.
And that was from experience. I wanted to express my deepest sorrows and sympathies to you and the others for that incident the other day. I take it you already notice that I forced my transformation without a Glaive or personality change. I'm so glad Nova didn't notice right away.
He was suspicious that I didn't return to the company sooner. He ws probably even more curious as to why I didn't stick with the company. So I told him that the death of my father was the final straw in my decision. It lowered his guard a good bit.
Unfortunately, that didn't stop him from trying to reprimand me. He thought a trip to S-FIT might get me to change. Little did he know that my knowledge of the building is top notch. That and I've been there many times before so he knows it wouldn't have worked. I think I've become a little desensitized to the experimentation." Naomi elucidated as Zeno called.
"Well, thanks for the info and good luck with the call." Jeremy finished as he hung up.
Naomi answered her phone to hear Zeno's voice on the other end.
"Ay man, we gotta talk. What the heck is up with you and invading Sumeragi facilities?" Zeno interrogated.
"Um, hello, have you not met me or something? It's my job, duh." Naomi groaned.
'I know that, I ain't stupid." Zeno snapped.
"Unless it's for Ekoro." Naomi teased.
A blush crept up Zeno's cheeks as he realized that Naomi's words were getting to him.
"Man this is serious! You keep going to the same facility every single night without fail outside of work hours and you've been doing this since you've been hired." Zeno corrected.
"What are you talking about? When I'm done with work I stay home." Naomi reminded.
"Then explain this one to me." Zeno huffed before pulling up footage from one of S-FIT's many cameras.
It showed Naomi slice through seven Sumeragi soldiers at once with a single swing of a purple Luxcalibur.
"I didn't do that! The footage has gotta be edited or something!" Naomi refuted.
It's completely clean and free of any tampering." Zeno informed.
"Wait! Stop it right there!" Naomi demanded.
Zeno tapped pause.
"Why the heck did ya have to go and scare me like that!?" Zeno ranted.
