I had decided that I was calling our odd looking little cat-lion friend Leo. It suited, it was appropriate. The funny little cursed corpse marched his way over to what I found out was the main dormitory. It was split in two; one side housed the boys and the other side housed the girls. Two doors on the girls side were propped open. Janey and I peeked inside, one of them had what appeared to be my luggage in there so I wandered in to take stock of my belongings. Janey disappeared in to what was now her room to sort her own stuff out.
I had a few large bags that had most of my clothes in and a few smaller bags with things like shoes, toiletries, cosmetics and a few other bits and bobs. Namely a fleece blanket I rather liked and a big stuffed Moomin toy. One of my bags however had all my gymnastics stuff in, like my favourite leotards, my hand guards and a few pairs of heel shock absorbers; because even after doing gymnastics for over ten years now, I still could not stop pounding my heels all the damn time in everything I ever did. My uniform hadn't turned up yet from the looks of it, so I was wearing my uniform from my school back in England; a dark green pleated tartan skirt, white long sleeve shirt, black blazer, a green tartan tie that matched the skirt and finished off with black knee high socks and black loafers. I had heeled loafers though as I was a bit short, just over five foot one. Janey however had a plethora of suits with her. We had been told that we could earn a bit of money here, Jane especially as she could work in the capacity of a supervisor whilst other sorcerers were out on missions. I thought that was pretty cool.
'Hey there.'
I looked over to my door to see a girl about the same height as Jane, with chin length brown hair and a very casual look on her face.
'Oh, hi. Nice to meet you, I'm Giulietta Gray. You can call me Gigi though, I hope we can be friends.' I politely bowed my head slightly at the girl. 'I apologise for my Japanese, I'm not very good yet.'
'Oh don't worry about it. I'm Shoko, Shoko Ieiri. You can call me Shoko if you like. I've been asked to show you round. And I suppose I should mention, my English isn't the best.'
'Janey! You there?' I shouted through to the next room. She popped her head out of the door to see Shoko standing there slowly waving her hand. They introduced themselves to each other and before we knew it, we were walking around the school with Shoko pointing out the main areas. Between my terrible Japanese, Shoko's limited English and Janey knowing both and translating for us; we were having quite a good conversation. I had learned that Shoko was solely a reverse cursed technique user, focused on healing. She had combat knowledge and experience, but that was not where her strengths lay.
'I've only ever managed to use a reverse cursed technique on myself once and that, was a total fluke. I've not been able to do it since.' I said. Shoko seemed intrgued.
'What happened can I ask?'
'Well, when I was ten I went out on my own exploring the woods near where I lived. I fell down a banking and err, impaled myself on a wooden fencepost.'
Both Shoko and Janey were wincing a little when I explained what had happened, which was my sheer unabashed clumsiness coming in to play.
'I somehow managed to pull myself off the fencepost, lucky for me it was a bit rotten. I don't remember much after that I think I went on auto pilot and somehow managed to heal myself. When I woke up, the hole where the fencepost was wasn't there. I was found by a search and rescue squad hours later, near frozen and with a massive scar on my back and chest.'
'Ooh that is harsh.' Said Shoko, she almost looked impressed. She showed us round in a timely manner. Of course there was the main courtyard where you could get to everywhere else via. The main classrooms, the gardens round all of the buildings and hidden away in the most random places which I would enjoy immensly as I loved plants and flowers and gardening in general. Then the best bit to me was the HUGE gymnasium. I instantly noticed it had a standard size sprung gymnastics floor.
'Shoko please tell me there's other equipment in here?' My eyes had lit up. Janey must have explained to Shoko that I was a gymnast as she then told me that Shoko had said there was other equipment knocking about, just that it was never used. Apparently the floor was used for martial arts training.
I was spacing out again as Shoko and Jane were chatting away with each other. Eventually Janey called me over out of my daydreaming. We then went on to what I would call a recreational room. I had finally laid eyes on the other students now! And there weren't that many. In fact, it was a complete sausage party.
I was introduced to a bunch of boys. First years Kento Nanami who genuinely looked like he was too cool for school and Yu Haibara who had an enthusiasm that felt like it poured out of him. Then there were the second years, which was the year I was in. Of course there was Shoko but there were two boys in this year; one boy with long black hair neatly tied up by the name of Suguru Geto, who greeted Janey and I politely with a kind smile and a wave. The other one had pure white hair and his eyes hidden behind round lensed sunglasses, was named Satoru Gojo. He had his feet up on a desk and his arms clasped behind his head. My internal monologue was doing it's thing as per usual. I looked directly at the one named Gojo and could sense the sheer amount of energy he was holing on to, which was really rather daunting. But I could feel him glaring at me behind those sunglasses and with this odd grin on his face. He gave off an air of arrogance that just rubbed me up the wrong way.
'He's a dick.' I thought to myself. My internal monologue already branding the white haired boy with an initial assumption that would stick and was most likely, correct.
'Gigi. 'Gigi you in there?' Janey was gently whispering and nudging me back to reality.
'Hmm, yeah… Uh, what?'
'You're doing that thing again. C'mon, we've just been informed we can go out on a mission that's just been called in. A natural curse has sprung up near an abandoned warehouse.'
'Ugh. They're gonna get me to exorcise it aren't they?'
'Knowing your luck, yeah probably.'
'What's with the white haired boy?'
'I don't know. He looks like he knows something.'
'I thought that too. He got a problem?'
'I don't know, or he could just be a…'
'Dick.'
'A dick.'
