The Sorcerer Hero: Deku

Chapter forty-five: The hunt for friends, part eight

Tabula Smaragdina walked out of the main gates leading into the city that had hours prior been besieged by undead monsters that struck the chuthuloid as familiar, given that they all resembled undead monsters from YGGDRASIL. The undead monsters never got even one of their number into the city, even through the area of the wall around the city that was vulnerable because it's where Tabula entered to take the city over a while ago.

Walking with Tabula were the Elric brothers, older brother Edward and younger brother Alphonse. The reason they were walking out of the main gate leading into the city was because a party leading another portion of undead monsters were requesting an audience. Tabula suspected that, assuming the leaders were judged to be weak enough, he could just wipe them and the rest of their undead army. But he'd hold off on that at first at least.

Especially since he was figuring that other YGGDRASIL players were involved here.

Tabula with the Elric brothers soon met up with the party who was leading another portion of undead monsters from YGGDRASIL. Said monsters totally had the look, and Tabula counted a few more Death Knights. They were no problem for Tabula himself, but he was figuring that they could still pose a threat to his human underlings. He didn't want any of them to die, especially as he still wanted to learn more about how this world's alchemy functioned and they were his ticket to that.

Gesturing to himself, Dabi who sat upon a skeletal horse said, "Yo, human looking chuthulu person. I'm betting you're the big boss around here."

"That would be accurate," Tabula said as he regarded Dabi; aside from the purple, leathery looking patches of skin, Dabi looked human. He was probably burnt something fierce in an accidental fire or something. "I take it you're the one leading the army here, both what's present now and what all had assaulted my city a few hours ago?" Tabula asked.

"For my bosses, yeah," Dabi said, "They told me something about a big elite being in the city, so they sent the forces earlier to see if the rumors are true."

"Well Boss Squidface here wiped an estimated ninety-one point six percent of the undead that your bastard bosses sent earlier," Edward boasted, "I'd like to see any of your bosses try to start anything with Boss Squidface directly!"

Spinner came riding up next to Dabi, looked down at Tabula. "Hey yo, quick question," Spinner began, "Would the name Ainz Ooal Gown be familiar to you at all?"

Tabula perked up at the humanoid lizard saying that. In addition to knowing the name of the old guild back in YGGDRASIL that Tabula belonged to, Spinner was a unique being that the chuthuloid hadn't seen before. Tabula wanted to study Spinner more, but didn't have the luxury of doing so right now. "How is it that you know the name of my old guild?" Tabula asked.

"Because me and Dabi's big bosses are members of the same guild," Spinner replied. Turning to look at Dabi, Spinner said, "Yo Dabi, I think we found another one of the big bosses."

"I was figuring that," Dabi remarked to Spinner. To Tabula, Dabi asked, "If you're familiar with the name of our bosses' guild, then our bosses are gonna wanna have a talk with you."

"Hey yo, I don't think that Boss Squidface ought to meet with your bosses alone," Edward said, "What if they try to-"

"At ease, Edward," Tabula remarked, cutting Edward off. Turning back to Dabi and Spinner, Tabula said, "I will meet with your bosses at my manor I have claimed in the city. But the undead army is gonna have to wait outside. I don't want my subjects freaking out."

"The bosses have lots of subordinates who aren't undead," Dabi replied, "When will you be ready to meet with the bosses?"

"As soon as they're able to see me," Tabula replied. Dabi nodded once and had the army turn around and march off with him. After Dabi and his forces were out of there, Tabula said, "Well, we're going to be expecting some guests, so we might as well get a banquet ready."

Clapping his hands together, Edward said, "Sounds great! I'm starving!" Tabula permitted himself a chuckle of sincere amusement at Edward. He had grown somewhat fond of the Elric brothers, with Edward an especially so case as he's not afraid to be casual with him. Hopefully Tabula will be able to convince the expected guests to be gentle with the Elric brothers.

Tabula was surprised to see that the bosses of Dabi and Spinner were some of his old guild mates from back in their YGGDRASIL days. Momonga, Peroronchino, Ulbert, Nishikienrai, Kurama, Warrior Takemikazuchi, Thor, Herohero, and Bukubukuchagama had all come to see him. Tabula had a good feeling that he may be able to enjoy the feeling of being with old friends once more. The meeting Tabula had with his old guild mates was private, and proofed against all efforts to spy on them due to Ainz's counterintelligence measures.

"So our guild's members were scattered across multiple worlds when we all left YGGDRASIL for the last time," Tabula began, after Ainz explained everything to him, including how he took the guild's name as his own to help spread it around and hopefully attract their old friends, "But you've gained the means to travel to other worlds, giving us a chance to gather everyone back."

Ainz nodded once in the affirmative. "Indeed, Tabula."

"You also took over the worlds you all had been sent to," Tabula went on, "Giving you access to a store of wealth and supplies unimaginably grand. Could be handy in delving into the true depths of alchemy in this world, the extra materials and knowledge."

"We're still learning some secrets in the worlds we've already taken over," Ulbert began, "It's slow going, but the subordinates we have in those worlds are compiling a lot for us."

Putting his hands on his waist, Tabula said, "Well alright, I'm convinced. I've already taken over this nation, but the other nations of this world are still on the list. I was about to begin plans on taking them over when you guys showed up."

"You think we can help you with taking over the rest of this world?" Thor asked.

Permitting himself a chuckle, Tabula replied, "I wouldn't have it any other way. But first, I'd like to return to our guild hall if possible. I'm eager to see the old place again, as well as check to see how Albedo is doing, as you guys did mention that the NPCs we made are now living beings."

"Oh, umm, about Albedo," Ainz began, "She's doing fine, don't get the wrong idea. But there's still something that needs to be explained." Tabula perked up at what Ainz was saying, and wondered what was up with Albedo.

...

(One explanation later)

"...And then things became real as myself, the guild hall, and everything in it was transported to the first New World," Ainz said, "I had no idea that was going to happen, I had figured what I did was just harmless goofing around as it was the last day of the game anyway so I felt no real damage would have been done. I am so sorry about what I had done with your NPC, Tabula."

Holding up a hand to cut off any protest, Tabula said, "Relax, man. I can't hold it against you. You do have a point on how it was the last day of the game, and you not having any idea that things would become real. Hell, if I was there with you, I'd have changed things myself so that Albedo would be so devoted to me instead. Or maybe Peroronchino if he was there too and asked. It was last day of the game shenanigans, I wouldn't be, am still not, upset."

"See, man?" Thor said to Ainz, "I told you he'd be chill about it."

Shrugging, Tabula went on, "I actually forgot that I had written Albedo to be a slut and, now that I think about it, would have felt embarrassed if that had become a real thing. So thanks for cleaning up Albedo a bit before YGGDRASIL ended. As much as I still love Gap Moe, I will admit what I had originally written is a bit much." As Ainz relaxed, Tabula went on, "Of course, now there's something that I have to do with Albedo."

Ainz was worried about what Tabula had in mind. "What is it?"

"Give her advice on how she can get you into bed with her," Tabula replied, a hint of amusement in his tone. Nishikienrai and Peroronchino both snickered in amusement at what Tabula just said; he was officially giving his 'blessing' for Ainz to bed Albedo. ...Or for Albedo to bed Ainz, which was the more likely situation to occur.

Ainz was dreading how Albedo would react to it when Tabula himself gives her the okay to take Ainz to bed with her.

The taking over of the rest of Alchemy World, though more difficult than the conquering of low tech worlds, was still easy compared to worlds with higher levels of tech. The use of alchemy by enemy forces was the main reason behind Alchemy World's level of difficulty to take over, but those enemy alchemists were taken out in quick order.

Soon, all of Alchemy World was under the banner of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. The Supreme Beings celebrated their latest conquest in Nazarick, whose denizens also celebrated the return of Lord Tabula Smaragdina. Albedo, who was created by Tabula, wept tears of joy to see her beloved creator returned to the Great Tomb.

She also got excited when Tabula gave her advice on how to get Ainz into bed with her. Albedo's creator was giving his blessing to her to bring the Sorcerer King to bed with her; could anyone blame her for being so excited? Ainz who was updated on what Tabula had just done was really hoping that another New World would make itself available to him via the Portal to Nazarick spell.

...

"So what's the latest New World that had been made available to us?" Tabula asked Ainz as they and the other Supreme Beings that were present were having a meeting to discuss things.

"First off, I'm still mad with some of the 'ideas' you gave Albedo," Ainz said to Tabula, drawing some chuckling from some of the guys at the meeting table. Even goofball stuff like this made Ainz feel great, it was like the glory days of their guild were back in full force. "Second off," Ainz said to the meeting as a whole, "The latest New World is called 'Britannia World'."

"Sounds to me like we may have to deal with the British in some form," Bukubukuchagama replied.

"So what's the game plan, Momonga?" Peroronchino asked.

"Same as usual," Ainz said, "Scout things out, be discrete, get an idea on what to expect."

"Any idea on which, if any, of our old comrades we can expect to find there?" Ulbert asked.

Ainz gently shook his head in the negative. "Unfortunately, no. We're probably going to be going into this one blind in that sense."

"Sounds like fun," Warrior Takemikazuchi said.

"Here here!" Thor cheered in agreement with Warrior Takemikazuchi. Really, the only real difference between Warrior Takemikazuchi and Thor is that the former leans towards samurai while the latter leans more towards Vikings.

"Guys, we can't go in guns ablazin'," Kurama lightly admonished, "We could be tripped up if we aren't careful."

Ainz nodded in agreement. "Indeed. We'll scout things out first, then once we're as prepped as we can be, we move in."

"Did Albedo move into your bed yet?" Tabula asked, the tone of his voice making it clear he was taking another joking shot at his friend and guild leader.

As some of the other guys also chuckled, Ainz could only sigh. "This is probably going to go on for a while," Ainz muttered to himself.

(Britannia World)

Yamaiko had just finished up a day as headmistress at Ashford Academy. She's still surprised that she was able to assume the role of Headmistress, especially considering the fact that one, she and Anubis had appeared in this world out of the blue one day after they logged out of YGGDRASIL for the last time, two, Yamaiko and Anubis aren't even human, and three, Yamaiko had no qualifications in this world to work at a school even though she had them in her life outside of the game.

Then she learned of the overall level of intelligence of the people in this world, and everything clicked. But whereas Anubis became one with the chaotic stupidity of this world the both of them were sent to, Yamaiko took it upon herself to try to better the people here in this world's version of Japan, which was taken over by the Britannian Empire. Yamaiko wants to keep out of what all chaos is going on out there in this world, she's perfectly happy running Ashford Academy.

She's also worried about that Black Knights group that's been fighting against the Britannian Empire here in Japan to liberate the nation. She hopes that none of the students of Ashford Academy ends up getting dragged into their stupidity. Anubis is hardly better, at least Yamaiko is able to keep tabs on him by making him the art teacher after the previous one had died due to... wait, how did the last art teacher at Ashford Academy die again? Yamaiko forgot how it happened.

She got up from her desk, went over a filing cabinet, opened it carefully because she's rather large due to her choice of race, carefully pulled out the appropriate file, and opened it to read what it said about how the previous art teacher at Ashford Academy had died. "She... drowned in piss," Yamaiko read aloud, unbelieving that the phrase 'drowned in piss' was actually written in an official report like this. How in blazes was there even enough urine to have a living being drown in it?

Yamaiko put the file back and closed the filing cabinet back up as she heard the door to her office open up. She turned to look and saw Shirley and Milly come in, carrying a fairly large painting. "Hello Headmistress Yamaiko," Milly greeted, "How are you doing?"

"What did Anubis do this time?" Yamaiko asked, able to tell that Anubis was involved because the girls were carrying a painting.

"Mr. Nile actually finished a painting and asked us to bring it here," Milly said, "He said something about your office needing more art."

Yamaiko was instantly suspicious of the painting Anubis made, and her suspicions were justified when she saw what the painting was of; it was a raw chicken, with a fish head sticking out of the neckhole, there was a cigarette in the mouth of the fish head, and it was sitting on a platter on an old wooden table in a kitchen. "...I'll deal with it, girls," Yamaiko said, "Just set it down over there." The two girls walked over to where Yamaiko gestured for them to place the painting.

She needs to have a serious talk with Anubis.

...

Anubis Nile, in the game YGGDRASIL, was a werewolf cleric, with tanned skin and black hair in his human form, making it easy for him to pass as an Egyptian. He was actually rather fond of Ancient Egyptian history and mythology, so he built his character around it. He wore a red and gold nemes (the headdress worn by pharaohs) with a wolf's head viewed from the side image on the part that goes over the forehead.

Anubis also wore a shimmering short sleeved silken tunic of white, with gold trim along the hem and ends of the sleeves, a red and gold stripped collar with white trim around his collar bone area with a golden colored diamond in the middle, gold bands on his biceps, golden manacles with one each around his wrists, somewhat puffy golden pants that ended about seventy-five percent of the way to the ankles, and simple boots with pointed toe ends but there were gold bands around both of the ankles.

Anubis was currently meeting with the Black Knights, who were gearing up for another attack they were going to launch against the Britannians. "N'awright," Anubis said to One, "Explain it to me like I'm retarded why we can't carry out the attack right now."

"Because we received reports that there's an encampment of Halloween Town residents in some woods near Ashford Academy," One explained, "We can't take risks while there's a chance that we may end up having to go The Walking Dead on some zombie asses."

"Better The Walking Dead than Twilight, am I right?" Ohgi asked.

"Meh, at least zombies are cooler than gay sparkly vampires," One said.

"Alright, I highly doubt that there's an encampment of zombies near Ashford Academy," C.C. said, "Let's just check it out and see what's really going on. Maybe it's some sort of theme party."

"Why host a theme party in the woods, though?" Ohgi asked.

"Maybe they don't wanna be caught by the Britannians?" C.C. replied.

"No no, that's not it at all," One said, "They're obviously gathering to perform a ritual to summon their dark gods into this world. And you think that I'm stupid."

"That's because you are," C.C. said dryly, "And I highly doubt that there's a bunch of undead in the woods gathering to 'summon their dark gods' into this world. That's pretty stupid, even for you."

Over in a clearing in the woods near Ashford Academy, an encampment of undead pop monsters was set up, ready to fight the Britannian soldiers in Japan so that Ainz and his fellows had a base to work with when they began their plans for Britannia World in earnest. Ainz and his fellows, upon learning of the Britannian Empire and how it rules most of the world, decided that it had to go. It reminded them too much of the original Japan that they had come from. As such, they were planning on taking out the Britannian Empire and installing their rule upon the world.

They knew what to avoid, so they figured themselves to be the better alternative.

At the encampment to lead the charge was Cocytus, who was speaking with Dabi, Spinner, Toga, Beros, Thorfinn, Demon Aura, and the combat maids Narberal and Lupus. "This is a world effectively already conquered," Cocytus said, "But our lords have determined that the current ruling party of this world has to go! We're starting in this nation we're in right now."

"This makes how many versions of Japan I've been to?" Dabi muttered under his breath as he looked around the encampment that everyone was in.

"Anyway, we also got word on how there's two factions fighting against the Britannian Empire," said Demon Aura, "The Black Knights and the Japanese Liberation Front, although the former of the two is reported to have seen far greater success with anything not involving..." Demon Aura stopped short, pulled out a report to read from it. "...Pizza Bagels?" Demon Aura read aloud, confusion clear in her tone, "What in the name of Lord Ulbert are Pizza Bagels?!"

"Ooh, pizza bagels are here too?" Toga asked, "They're super delicious!"

"So we've learned that these 'pizza bagels' are a type of foodstuff," Cocytus remarked, "Very well, we need to make a note of that."

"Hol' up," Dabi said, "You guys seriously had no idea what pizza bagels were up until just now? I think that I ought to ask the big bosses if it's alright to introduce their elite subordinates at least to pizza bagels. Even I love those things, they're bomb as hell."

"If the Supreme Beings will permit it, then I'd love to join the dining table of a brother in arms and share food with him," Cocytus replied, "But until then, we need to focus on the Britannians and how to best bring them down!"

"Maybe allying with the Japanese Liberation Front and or the Black Knights might be a good place to start?" Spinner suggested.

"I doubt that humans will willing ally with us, given the bulk of our fodder force here is composed of undead," Narberal remarked.

"Maybe if we get some of those Pizza Bagel things and use them as a bargaining chip of sorts?" Lupus suggested.

Demon Aura nodded in agreement. "Given how valuable they seem, these Pizza Bagels must be the finest of delicacies in the culinary world."

Unbeknownst to Cocytus and his encampment, C.C. was hiding nearby, spying on them from just outside of the encampment's perimeter. "...You have got to be fucking shitting me," C.C. muttered under her breath, "There really IS a bunch of undead near Ashford Academy, and they're being led by a mix of people with only a few even remotely resembling humans. I've got to tell Lelouch about this pronto. I just hope he doesn't hold it over my head that he was actually right for once."

C.C., as she fled back to the Black Knights base, was estimating a ninety-one point six percent chance that Lelouch, aka One, will not only go 'I told you so' to her, but do so in the form of a song.

...

As it turned out, Lelouch ended up singing 'I told you so' to C.C. in the form of the song Peace Sign. After Lelouch had gone on like that for about a minute, C.C. said in the driest of tones and with a likewise expression, "Are you done?"

"Yeah I'm done," replied Lelouch, still wearing his One outfit.

"Good," C.C. said, "Because we now have to deal with an encampment of undead that's big enough on its own to wipe out all of the Brittanian forces in the city at least, not to mention their big name leaders who all look like the came from another world entirely."

"You've been watching too many isekai anime," Lelouch said, "There's no such thing as beings from another world. They're as made up as the British."

"When you see what I saw, it will be me going 'I told you so' to you," C.C. said dryly.

Shrugging, Lelouch said, "Meh, so long as it's not to the tune of any song from Boruto."

"I was gonna do it to the tune of the opening from Shikanoko," C.C. remarked.

"DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE!" Lelouch exclaimed.

"Hey guys, shouldn't we get to planning on how to deal with the undead?" Ohgi asked, "I mean, they may be a threat to us."

"Oh Ohgi, Ohgi, Ohgi," Lelouch said, "Didn't you hear what the green haired girl said? The undead want to bring down the Britannians too! We can join up with them, use their basic level members as cannon fodder, and bada bing bada boom, Japan is liberated from the Brittanian Empire."

"You actually want to work with people using zombies as foot soldiers," C.C. said.

Shrugging, Lelouch said, "Meh, at this point the only course in life that the undead have is getting jobs at the DMV, it's the only place willing to hire folks without any souls."

Ohgi was about to speak up, but stopped short when Anubis came in, carrying a metal baking tray loaded with Pizza Bagels. "Yo I figured that we might be needing some munchies, so I decided to bake a bunch of Pizza Bagels," Anubis said.

"Anubis, my old chum," Lelouch began, "You feel that it's okay to use a potential ally's fodder force to soak up bullets for our men if said fodder force consists of zombies, don't you?"

"Yeah, what sort of life do zombies have ahead of them that doesn't see them working at a DM-" Anubis began, but stopped short. "...Hol' up," Anubis began, "What's this about a potential ally having a fodder force of zombies?"

"There's an encampment near Ashford Academy, led by otherworldly looking people," C.C. began to explain, "They have with them a large enough force of undead big enough to wipe out all of the Brittanian forces in the city at least. The leaders of said force also professed an interesting in helping both us and the Japanese Liberation Front in bringing down the Britannians. One here says we should accept, but I'm not sure about allying with someone controlling a bunch of undead."

"What else did the guys with the fodder force of zombies say?" Anubis asked.

"Only that some girl with horns mentioned a fellow named 'Lord Ulbert'," C.C. said, "But I fail to see how that can be-"

"Hol' up," Anubis cut in, "Ulbert? As in Ulbert Alain Odle?"

"I... only heard the Ulbert part," C.C. replied, "Wait a minute, Anubis do you know something?"

"Only that if the Ulbert that had been mentioned is the same Ulbert that I am thinking of," Anubis began, "Then we totally ought to ally with the guys controlling the undead. Lead me to them, I shall be an ambassador." Turning to face Ohgi, Anubis tried handing him the tray of Pizza Bagels. "Here Ohgi, take this," Anubis said.

"Dude, didn't that come out of the oven just now?" Ohgi asked, "I'll burn my hands!"

"Oh shit, and I'm wearing the only pair of oven mits we got here," Anubis remarked. Anubis sat the tray loaded with Pizza Bagels down on a table, took off the oven mits he was wearing, and handed them to Ohgi. "Here, you'll need these," Anubis said, then after Ohgi (somewhat confused) took the oven mits from Anubis, Anubis turned to C.C. and said, "Now then! Lead me to the land of the living dead, green haired girl!"

"I hope one of those zombies eats your jugular for lunch," C.C. said, clearly unamused, as she agreed nonetheless to lead Anubis to the encampment of undead near Ashford Academy.

Back at the encampment near Ashford Academy, Dabi was looking at where Spinner stood with Demon Aura. The two of them were comparing their respective swords, with Demon Aura intrigued by the katana that Spinner favors. "Yo Cocytus," Dabi began, "When will we start to wipe out all of the Brittanian forces in the city?"

"We're waiting for the Supreme Beings to send the rest of the forces we'll be starting with," Cocytus replied, "They want to make sure that there's enough Death Knights to deal with the men who can use giant automaton suits to do battle."

"Yeah, it's crazy that this world has super fighting robots," Dabi remarked.

"Ooh, do you think that I can pilot a super fighting robot?" Toga asked.

Scoffing, Dabi said, "Toga, any vehicle that you get behind the wheel of becomes a weapon of mass destruction, and that includes horses. What in the name of all that is sacred makes you think that we'll let you get behind the wheel of a super fighting robot?"

"Yo, we Black Knights have a super fighting robot," Anubis called out, making everyone turn to face him and C.C. "It even has a laser arm function," Anubis went on, "It's totally-"

"It cannot be!" Cocytus said, "Lord Anubis Nile! Is that you?!"

Anubis stopped short, spotted Cocytus who came running up to him, followed by Narberal and Lupus. C. first was alarmed, but then became confused when Cocytus and the two combat maids both knelt before the werewolf cleric, not that C.C. had any idea that Anubis wasn't human. "It is humbling to be reunited with your exalted personage, Lord Anubis!" Cocytus declared, "The other Supreme Beings will be most pleased with the girls here and I when we bring them word of having found you here!"

"Wait a minute," C.C. said, "Anubis, you know these guys?"

"...From the past, yeah," Anubis replied, then turned back to look at the Nazarick NPCs. "Hmm... they're Cocytus, Narberal, and Lupus, if I recall correctly."

"Those are indeed our names, Lord Anubis," Narberal replied, "The Supreme Beings, those being your fellow peers in the Great Tomb of Nazarick, will be happy to see you alive and well."

"Sweetness, sounds like I'll meet up with old friends again," Anubis said, "Oh, we gotta swing by Ashford Academy first and pick up Yamaiko. She came to this place with me but sticks mainly to doing work at the school."

"Lady Yamaiko is here too?!" Lupus exclaimed, "Oh, Yuri is going to be so happy to hear that!"

"Wait a minute, I'm confused," C.C. said, "What's going on now?"

"Go back to One, tell him that the guys with the zombies are our friends and that they'll help us kick the Brittanians out of Japan," Anubis began, "Narberal, Lupus, will you two come with me to Ashford Academy to pick up Yamaiko and bring her along with us to meet up with our peers?"

"Just give us the word, Lord Anubis," Narberal replied. With an affirmative nod, Anubis took out Amulets of Flight, gave one each to the combat maids and put on one himself, then they all flew up into the air and flew off in the direction of Ashford Academy.

As she watched Anubis fly off with two maids, C.C. said, "Well now, it's official. This shit makes no sense."

END, CHAPTER FORTY-FIVE

Author's notes;

This chapter sees Ainz and his fellows reunite with Tabula, then take over the world that Tabula was sent to. After they relax back at base, Ainz and his fellows proceed with the latest New World made available to them, the world of Code Geass but it's the Code Ment version. There, Yamaiko and one of the OC Supreme Beings from my first Overlord story are involved, and the OC Supreme Being is the first to touch base.

The next chapter will see the Supreme Beings proceed to work with the craziest New World yet. Until then, take care everyone.
