Polkraine: Nothing Wrong with That
"Careful, you don't want to get infected."
Feliks frowned, having heard the comment, and when he looked over in the direction of the speaker, he saw two of his classmates laughing at him. It would often happen that the others would say things like 'what a freak' or 'don't get too close, you don't want to be infected by the queer'. All because of his crossdressing.
"Tell me, are you the pitcher or the catcher?"
"Man, he's obviously the catcher. He'd definitely be the woman in the relationship."
Feliks was starting to really get annoyed. Just because he wore women's clothes did not mean that he was gay! And what did they even think by using baseball euphemisms?
"So, tell me," someone said, draping an arm around Feliks's shoulders, "does your boyfriend know you're actually a guy?"
"First of all," Feliks said, shrugging the shoulder off, "I don't have a boyfriend, because I have a girlfriend. Second, just because I like to wear these clothes doesn't mean I'm gay. Third, there is like absolutely nothing wrong with being gay, but that's not me."
"Sure," someone said sarcastically. "If you really have a girlfriend, then who is she?"
"Like, she goes to a different school."
The others laughed, and Feliks stormed away with a huff. It wouldn't do to get angry at them. Well, angrier. He knew the truth, and that was all that mattered.
He sighed, leaning against the wall. He had a free period, and decided to see if he had any messages. He took out his phone and smiled.
Nat wants to know if the three of us could go shopping this weekend. She needs new clothes, and you're the best person to ask. Afterwards, maybe we could go see a movie? What do you think?
Feliks chuckled, before he started typing a response to Katyusha.
That sounds great! The movie is just going to be me and you, right?
He waited a moment for Katyusha's response.
There's this horror movie that she wants to watch, but since neither of us like that kind of stuff, we can watch the new romance. Nat hates those, so it's a win-win.
Sounds great. Can't wait.
Feliks continued to chat with Katyusha. The two had met in kindergarten and stayed friends, and eventually became lovers. Kat's brother Ivan was a little nervous about the two of them dating, since he didn't quite approve of Feliks's dressing habits, but Natalia, their younger sister, had no problems with it. In fact, Natalia often liked to use Feliks's crossdressing to her advantage, because their tastes weren't too different from each other, and if there was something she liked that didn't suit her figure, she could at least see Feliks wear it.
Feliks cared deeply for Katyusha, and he would do anything for her. He hated the fact that they weren't at the same school, but that just made the times they did spend together more worthwhile.
He groaned when he realised that it was almost time to go to his next class, where he would have to listen to more taunts from his classmates. It didn't exactly hurt, but he knew that it would have if he had really been queer, as the others so often thought of him. But he tended to drown in men's clothes, or they made him look scrawny. Women's clothes just fit him better.
…
Feliks exited the school gates at the end of the day, not looking forward to the walk home. He wished that he had his licence, because walking tended to bring a few more problems. Such as the occasional pervert who thought that he was a pretty girl.
"Feliks!"
He froze, recognising that voice. He turned to see Katyusha rushing towards him. He grinned as she reached him, throwing her arms around his shoulders.
"Kat!" he exclaimed happily. "What are you doing here?"
"My last class was cancelled, so I thought I'd come to surprise you," she said. "Are you happy to see me?"
Feliks smirked, leaning in for a kiss. Katyusha happily kissed back, and after a while they pulled back.
"Like, does that answer your question?" he asked. "So, want to go to a café? We can have a milkshake."
Katyusha giggled, placing her hand in his. As they started walking away, Feliks looked behind him, seeing his classmates looking at him with stunned looks. He shot them a smug grin, before turning back ahead of him, looking forward to their unexpected date.
The prompt is: 'Imagine that Person A of your OTP enjoys wearing clothes that are usually not associated with their gender, and they get made fun of at their school/workplace for doing so all of the time. Most of the taunts are centred around nasty queer slurs, and A tries to clarify that there is nothing wrong with being queer and dressing the way they do, although they are, in fact, straight and have a partner to prove it, but nobody believes them. One day, Person B decides to surprise A by picking them up from school/work. B greets them with a kiss and a "Hey, Love, how was your day?" while A responds and kisses back, but not before shooting some flabbergasted co-workers/students a smug grin.'
Poland had been the best choice for this prompt.
