Fayra was making her way out of college that afternoon. Her house wasn't that far from it, but it would still take her twenty minutes of walking to get there. She didn't mind doing it, as it would give her some time to think and enjoy her own company.
She and Trunks have been together for a few months now. She couldn't be happier. He was the most perfect guy she could ever ask for. He was sweet, caring and romantic, among other things. She felt really lucky and blessed.
"Here is the most beautiful girl from school!" Trunks exclaimed the moment he saw her walking out of school.
"Hey you." She kissed him tenderly on the cheek "I thought you'd be going home by now."
"Nah, I wanted to take you home today. Is that a problem for you?"
"Of course not. I'd love that!"
"I thought so."
"So shall we go?"
"Absolutely! Let's go."
"Are you ready?" He asked as he wrapped his arms around her.
"I want to say I am, but I can never get used to flying. I love it when you carry me though."
"I thought you would." Trunks couldn't help but smile before making sure she was safe enough for them to fly off.
They landed in front of her house about half an hour later. Fayra immediately went to check her hair in one of the windows and fixed it. Everytime they fly together, she's happy she doesn't have long hair. Short one is way more practical.
"You look great."
"Aww thanks." Fayra looked at him with a smile. "I just needed to make sure. I'm glad you think so though."
"I do." Trunks came to her and placed his hands on her shoulders. "So tell me, is the pretty lady free on the weekend?"
"She might be." She spun around to look at him and his hands fell to her hips. "Why? Do you want to take her out?"
"I'm thinking about it. Do you think she would say yes?"
"I think she might. Depends on what you have planned."
"How about a movie?"
"Oh, that actually sounds good! What movie?"
"We can choose when we get to Capsule Corp on Saturday night."
"Your house?"
"Yes, is there a problem?"
"No." Fayra shook her head and said in a reassuring tone. "It's just that… I'll be meeting your parents."
"Well, we'd have to meet them eventually."
"I know. I was just surprised, I didn't think we were at that point already."
"If you don't want to do it, it's alright."
"No, I do." She assured him. "Like you said, we'd have to meet them eventually."
"Alright then. It's a date.
.
Fayra felt like she could easily throw up from nervousness that Saturday evening. She was a couple of hours away from meeting Trunks' parents and feared she wouldn't make a good first impression. Just when she thought she was about to go insane, her phone started buzzing beside her, on her bed. She had the widest grin on her face when she saw the name on its screen.
"Hey, Rulah!" She exclaimed. "I'm so glad you called."
"Oh really?" The woman's voice echoed in the bedroom in a muffled way. "Why?"
"I'm about to go to Trunks' house and meet his parents."
"No way!" Rulah exclaimed. "Is it that serious?"
"I don't know, that seems like it."
"How can you not know it, Fayra? It's pretty obvious."
"I mean, we haven't even talked about labeling what we are."
"That's the perfect opportunity to do it, don't you think?"
"I guess so. But I feel a little intimidated by it."
"I'm sure everything will be alright. His parents are good people."
"I hope so." The blonde sighed. "Well, I should go. Trunks should be arriving soon and I don't want to be late."
"Alright. Good luck."
"Thank you."
"Let me know how it goes later."
"I will. Bye."
.
Fayra was in awe when she walked into Capsule Corp a couple of hours later. She had heard stories about it before, but it was different to actually see it in person.
"That's everyone's reaction the first time they come here." Trunks remarked in a light tone after he looked over his shoulder towards her.
"Huh?" She shook her head and turned to look at him, trying her best not to get distracted at every little detail throughout the large halls. "I suppose so. Where exactly are we going to watch the movie?"
"In the TV room, of course."
"You have a TV room?"
"Of course. We have a room for pretty much everything here."
"Right."
"Trunks?" Bulma's head popped up from the lab.
"Yes, mom?"
"Oh, is this the friend you talked about a few days ago?" She could barely hold her large smile.
Friend? Fayra was aware they hadn't put any labels on what they have so far, but she certainly didn't like being called 'friend'. Still, she hid it pretty well.
"Nice to meet you." Bulma spoke again, attracting the blonde's attention immediately.
"Nice to meet you too." She replied with a soft smile. "You have a very nice house. I love it."
"Thank you so much,… eh?"
"Fayra."
"Trunks, so impolite of you not to introduce your friend to me."
"I'm sorry." He rubbed the back of his neck. "Mom, this is Fayra. Fayra, this is my mom, Bulma."
"Nice to meet you again." Fayra surprised everyone, even herself, when she leaned over and hugged the other woman.
Bulma took a few seconds to understand what was happening before she hugged the blonde back.
.
Trunks walked into the TV room carrying a large bowl of popcorn. He was followed closely by Fayra, who was holding two big glasses of soda.
"Wow…" She gave a spontaneous whistle as she looked all around the room, but the huge TV got her attention the most.
He couldn't help but laugh at her while he placed the bowl on the table at the center of the room, between the TV and the blue couch.
"Oh my God, this sofa is so comfortable!" She stated as she sat down. "It feels like I'm sitting on cotton."
"Have you sat on cotton before?"
"No, silly." She laughed. "That was a figure of speech."
"You can tell grammar isn't my thing."
"Yes, I can."
"So what movie do you want to watch?" Trunks asked as he sat beside her, placing an arm over her shoulder.
"Whichever you want. I'll let you choose."
"No." He shook his head. "You're the guest. You choose."
"Alright. So we're going for a romantic comedy, is that okay with you?"
"Sure, that's fine."
Fayra had chosen a very famous romantic comedy for them to watch, though Trunks didn't quite like her choice; Still, he found it better not to say anything about it. The most awaited moment in the movie was about to happen, when something – or better yet – someone, caught their attention.
"Hi!"
"Bulla, aren't you supposed to be in bed right now?"
"Mom said you were watching a movie and I wanted to watch it too."
"It's not a movie made for children, so you can't stay."
"Mean." She pouted at him and then looked at Fayra with curiosity. "Who's this?"
"Hi, I'm Fayra. Nice to meet you, Bulla."
"Are you Trunks' girlfriend?"
Both teenagers blushed heavily and at the child's comment. She looked from her brother to Fayra with the same curiosity as before.
"No, sweetheart." The blonde replied with a soft grin. "We're just friends."
"Then why did he have his arm around you?"
"Bulla, bed. Now."
"But I want to watch the movie too."
"I guess there's nothing wrong if she watches a little with us." Fayra said. "I think it's safe."
"If you say so…"
"I have to go to the bathroom." Bulla slid from the couch, where she had been sitting between Trunks and Fayra and ran to the other room.
"Oh, she's gone." He said with relief after he heard the door locking.
"Trunks, she's your sister. You shouldn't talk about her like this."
"She can be really annoying sometimes."
"She's the sweetest."
"You know what else could be sweet right now?" He slid closer to her with a suggestive grin on his face and wrapped his arm around her shoulder once again.
"What is it?"
"Spending time alone with you and getting to do this." Trunks gently lifted her chin and looked into her pretty eyes.
"I like that."
"I thought you would." His smile got wider for a brief second before their lips touched.
It started off as a soft and sweet kiss, but it quickly evolved into a more passionate one. Fayra melted into his touch and things were escalating way too fast, but eventually they had to pull away from each other to breathe.
"Trunks, why were you eating her?"
"Bulla, how long have you been here?!" He almost fell from the couch after hearing her voice; his face blushing quite heavily.
"I don't know. Since I left the bathroom." She shrugged, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"I wasn't eating her." He replied after he recovered from his shock. "And you should really go to bed. It's past your bed time."
"Mommy lets me stay up late on weekends."
"Then go be with her."
"Are you angry because I saw you eating your girlfriend?"
"Again, I wasn't eating her. We were kissing. And she's not my girlfriend."
"Mom and dad do that too and they love each other."
"It's different."
"I really think I should go." Fayra stood up and picked her purse up. "It's getting late."
"What?"
"Trunks, you made your girlfriend upset."
"Bulla!" Bulma walked in and quickly ran to her daughter. "I told you shouldn't come in here tonight. Your brother is having a date."
"Mommy, Trunks' girlfriend is upset because of him. Are you going to ground him?"
"She's upset?" The older blue haired woman lifted her eyebrows at him. "What happened?"
"She's upset because he said she's not his girlfriend."
"Hmmm." It was all that she said. "We should give them some privacy, sweetheart. They have a lot to talk about."
"But mommy, I want to watch the movie!"
"Another time. Besides, it's time for bed."
"Can daddy read a story for me?" Bulla pleaded; her eyes full of expectations.
"Daddy is still training and it doesn't seem like he's stopping it anytime soon."
"But we can still ask, can't we? I'm sure he won't say no if I ask in a cute way."
"We can try, darling, but I can't promise anything."
Bulla looked over her mother's shoulder towards Fayra. "Mommy, can I say bye to Trunks' girlfriend?"
"Of course." Bulma put her down. "But make it quick."
"Okay!" She ran to the blonde and hugged her in the legs. "Bye Fayra! I really liked meeting you, you're nice and pretty!"
"Oh my God, thank you, Bulla!" She knelt down and hugged the little girl. "I really liked meeting you too. You're such a sweet child! I hope we can spend time together again soon."
"Me too."
"Bulla, let's go."
"Alright." She let go of Fayra and ran back to her mother.
The two teenagers finally finished watching the movie with no further interruptions. Trunks grabbed the remote control and turned the TV off.
"So, what did you think of it?" He turned to her and immediately raised his eyebrows. "What's wrong?"
"I've been thinking about what your sister said earlier."
"About what exactly?"
"About us being boyfriend and girlfriend."
"Oh… okay. What are you trying to say?"
"I don't know, but it made me think."
"Do you want to label what we are?"
"I'm not sure." Fayra bit her lower lip and looked away for a while. "But I don't want to feel like I'm wasting my time, you know?"
"Does it really feel like that to you?"
"No!" She said quickly and looked at him again. "That's not what I mean. I would never think of us as a waste of time. I absolutely love what we have so far. But I can't help but wish we could become something more… serious."
"We can talk about it."
"But do you want it?"
"I can't say I haven't thought about it." He grabbed her hands softly. "Yes, I want it. So we'll put a label on what we have then. From now on we're gonna be boyfriend and girlfriend."
"That sounds perfect to me." She smiled and then leaned over to kiss him.
.
The streets in West City were still fully illuminated and quite a lot of young people were still out – either trying to go in or leaving dance clubs. Neither Trunks nor Fayra cared about it, so they just resumed their way to her house. A few minutes later, they were standing in front of it.
"Thanks for bringing me home." She said softly as she stood in front of him.
"You don't have to thank me." He smiled at her. "I'm sorry about anything that happened at my house."
"No, you shouldn't apologize." Fayra shook her head, returning the smile. "Nothing happened in your house. I absolutely loved everything. Including your sister."
"I'm glad to know that."
"We should definitely do that again." She glanced quickly towards her house and then back. "Do you want to go in?"
"I'd love to, but I think I've dealt with enough meeting the parents night. We can definitely set a date for that though. I'd love to meet your parents someday."
"I'm sure they will love you." She took two steps towards him, running her hands through his arms. "Have a good night, boyfriend."
"You can be sure I will, girlfriend." Trunks wrapped his arms around her before leaning over and capturing her lips in a sweet kiss.
