Item #: SCP-8111

Object Class: Archon

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-8111 is not to be contained. 24-hour surveillance is to be maintained, and covert strike teams in place, to ensure that no harm comes to this entity. Relocation or imprisonment is likely possible, but the function SCP-8111 serves in the wild has been deemed too vital, even with occasional loss of human life. On investigation, all such human casualties were found to be guilty of crimes worthy of permanent D-class assignment, and were thus fully expendable.

Description: SCP-8111 is a plant-based entity that is typically stationary. It binds itself to a specific street light in the town of Derry, – in –. Resembling a mass of vines vaguely in the form of a human female, but 8 meters tall, her defining feature is her long-hair, which hangs down from a head that slumps wearily forward. At night, her one eye glows orange from within her vines. On the rare occasion that she moves from her post, only prepubescent human children are capable of seeing her and tracking her movements. From long observation and analysis of her attack patterns, it is clear she is fiercely protective of human children. Seventeen human deaths have been attributed to her, and in every case the victim was found to have been guilty of child abuse. Those guilty of particularly heinous acts were killed the most gruesomely, leading to her vines visibly dripping with their remains. It is hypothesized that she has near-omniscient awareness of all activities within Derry, the ability to detect the approach of anomalous entities from a great distance, and some degree of foresight or perhaps telepathy. Twice, a child was rescued from imminent assault rather than avenged after the fact. In both cases, the child required amnestic treatment to recover from witnessing the method of SCP-8111's attacks.

Reason For Classification: On at least ten occasions, dangerous SCP instances of multiple varieties have entered SCP-8111's territory. These include many instances of SCP-1788-1, and even SCP-956, which typically only move once a child is already nearby. Typically, the presence of such instances would guarantee significant loss of life among local children. However, no child of Derry has ever been harmed by an SCP. In every case, SCP-8111 vanishes from her post, and the malicious invader is later found in a thoroughly disassembled state similar to the most egregious of her human victims.

Far more important than these interventions, and the primary reason for her Archon classification, is her ability to deny SCP-64626 access to our reality. Most commonly assuming the form of Pennywise the Clown, this macro-dimensional entity once plagued Derry, most commonly targeting children in brutal attacks that occurred every twenty-seven years. But in 1957, when the child Georgie Denbrough was targeted, SCP-8111 was first sighted. She intervened in time to save the boy's life, stripped SCP-64623 of its "Deadlights," and banished it from our reality. It is suspected that SCP-64626 still afflicts many other universes, with some evidence that its attacks sometimes reach global scale. Therefore, SCP-8111 is considered our reality's best defense against the potentially Apollyon-class entity.

Ongoing Research: Primary focus is on determining what, if anything, is capable of harming SCP-8111, so measures can be put in place to ensure no such harm is perpetrated. The teams studying SCP-8111 will maintain frequent communication and cooperation with the teams researching SCP-64626. If any theory is proposed by which Roi Rousse might overcome SCP-8111 and regain access to our reality, the prevention of such a scenario will be given maximum priority.

Author's Note:

I've wanted to do an SCP based on this image for quite a while. Only recently did I come up with an adequate justification for the Foundation choosing to leave her uncontained.

Been a while since I've posted 2 stories in one day. Also, this brings my collection to 75 stories. Woohoo.
