Epilogue: Moving

Risa sat in the bedroom in her home with her husband Genma. Risa wore a red dress. Risa wiped away a few tears as she gave a slight teary smile to her husband. Genma wore a white shirt and black pants. Genma sat down and Risa began to cry on his shoulders. Genma gently held his wife.

"I hate this," sniffled Risa. "Such lousy timing," as she sat back up. She grabbed a tissue and blew her nose. "Yet I understand…"

"I hate this too…Risa-chan," added Genma. "It's the last thing I wanted to do," as he gave her a smile. "But there is nothing I can do…When the governor says jump. I ask how high, you know?"

"Aye," agreed Risa. "Especially considering how he saved your career when your criminal actions under Grandmaster Happosai were revealed to the public."

"So true," sighed Genma. "I mean it isn't like our family financially didn't pay for that," as he shook his head. "I got a massive fine," as he took a breath. "I just finally got our savings back up to a sizeable amount," as he smiled. "Still, we could be doing better off. So, with the new job comes new responsibilities and more pay."

"At least your trust in the public has gone back up," giggled Risa as she hugged her husband. "As the governor pointed out you made mistakes and owned up to them."

"That I did," agreed Genma with a smile. "Once I begin the new job. I'll be busy, Risa," as he held her. "The new building is short staffed, and I was given the responsibility to get it back on track," as he let go. "I may not be home as much for a long while."

"I understand so will Rei," replied Risa. "She just needs time to adjust to this move," as took a deep breath. "On the plus side at least the Tendos live there too. It will work out."

"Aye," agreed Genma as he kissed his wife…

Early the next day, Rei sat in the backseat of her parent's black car. She wore a red blouse, skirt, socks, and a pair of red high heels. Next to her was her red purse, her smartphone, and her diary.

Rei looked around outside the window. She saw the Hikawa Shrine. She lightly smiled. A few moments the car came to a halt. She saw a two-story home in the busy Azabu Jūban District.

(Mom was right.) Rei thought. (The Hikawa Shrine is just a block away.) She looked behind her and saw the moving van park behind them.

"Rei," began Genma as he faced the back and looked at his daughter. Genma wore a black business suit, pants, socks, and dress shoes. "Your Mom and I have something to show you, sweetie."

Rei stepped out of the car and followed her father Genma and mother Risa to the entrance of her new home. Risa wore a purple blouse, skirt, socks, and high heels.

Genma unlocked the house, opened the door. He saw his wife and daughter walk in the house and he closed the door. He put a bag down on the kitchen table. He walked up the steps to the second floor and down the hall as Risa and Rei followed him.

"Go ahead," Risa began. "Open up your new room," as she held Genma's hand.

"Okay," Rei replied. She opened the door and saw a very spacious looking room. She walked in and saw a window. She looked outside and saw a large forest that stretched as far as the eye could see. "Wow. This is great."

"I knew you'd like it," gushed Genma. "I looked at every house for sale, and when I saw this one with this view. I knew you'd enjoy it," as Rei ran to her father. She hugged him and then her mother.

"I'm glad you like it," Risa added.

"I love it," Rei replied. She faced her parents, and sniffled. "I'm sorry I got so upset about moving."

"It's okay," replied Risa. "We didn't want to move either."

"I understand," replied Genma as he smiled. "Change isn't easy my fiery girl," as he ruffled her hair. "What color do you want to paint this room?"

"Red," Rei quickly replied as her parents chuckled.

"Thought so," laughed Risa.

"Very you," agreed Genma. "Now let's get down, and get the rest of our stuff in. It's already April 4th. So close to the new school year starting," as the family headed downstairs…

Inside the Tendo household, Soun sat with his children. Soun's black hair fell to his back tied into a ponytail, His black eyes focused on his children. He wore a black shirt, pants, and white socks. He sat near his eldest daughter, Kasumi.

Kasumi's long brown hair fell on her back tied into a ponytail. Her brown eyes glimmered in joy at seeing her father and siblings. She wore a green blouse, skirt, and socks. Next to her sat her little sister Nabiki. Kasumi took a sip of her tea that she made.

Nabiki's brown hair fell to her shoulder. Her brown eyes joyfully looked around her family home. She wore an orange tank top and a pair of shorts. She wore white socks. Next to her sat her little brother Koji. She gave her family a happy smile as she enjoyed her tea that Kasumi made.

Koji had short black hair that hung past his shoulders. His black eyes darted nervously around. He wore a blue shirt, and black pants. He had short white socks on. He took a few sips of tea his older sister had made.

"Something wrong, Koji," Nabiki asked as she saw her brother's nervousness.

"I am just worried about Rei," replied Koji. "I know how little sis must be feeling," as he took a deep breath. "I remember how it was when we moved here from the Nerima Ward many years ago."

"Aye," agreed Kasumi. "No doubt Rei is not taking the move so well," as she giggled. "I remember we had a few outbursts before our move," as she gave her little brother a smile. "Still, we all adjusted over time…So shall Rei," as she gave her brother a nod. "She just needs some time, you know?"

"So true," agreed Soun. "It's not like I wanted to move years ago," as he took a deep breath. "I know neither did Genma and Risa," as he saw his children nod. "In our case the best chance for me to own and run a dojo is here in the Azabu Jūban District." He took a sip of his tea. "In Genma's case well. It's the nature of his job."

"So true," gushed Kasumi. "Still, I hope Rei will like the little party we set up for her."

"Indeed," agreed Soun. "Genma says tomorrow is a good day for the family," as he paused for a moment. "To stop by and hang out for a few hours."

"I got an idea," gushed Nabiki as she snapped her fingers. She looked at Koji and gave him a smile. "You've always been a big brother for Rei, Koji," as she saw him nod. "If anyone can make her feel better it, is you. Go and see her, brother."

"That's a good idea," grinned Koji. He stood up and drank his tea. He walked over and set the teacup in their sink. "I'll be back down a minute after I change," as he saw his family nod in agreement. "I'll hang out with Rei to cheer her up. I'll take her out for some ice cream…"

Rei sat on a bench in a park in the Azabu Jūban District as she looked at the sinking sun. She wiped away a tear. She took a deep breath. Her purse lay next to her on the bench.

(I thought I'd live in the Nakano Ward longer.) Rei thought. She sighed (I'll miss it.) She smiled as she saw two six-year-old girls play. One girl had blond hair and blue eyes. The other had black eyes and black hair. Each girl wore a pink dress, socks, and sneakers. (I thought I'd at least get another year there before I go to college before I ever moved.)

"Hey there girl," a male voice called out as Rei turned around. She smiled.

"It's been a while Koji," gushed Rei. She smiled as she saw the tall boy. "I see you've been staying fit big bro." Rei stood up. She dusted off her ass.

"You are looking just as cute as ever little sis," replied Koji. "I heard about the move you and your family had to make," as he gave her a hug. "I am sorry that you had to move so suddenly, but it will be nice to have you around," as he let go of the hug. "You bring joy to everyone around."

"Thanks," giggled Rei. She smiled at the muscled, tall, and lean older boy. She saw his serious face. "I've seen that look before you are worried about me."

"Of course," answered Koji. "I remember how it was when we moved from the Nerima Ward to here," as he gave her a nod. "It wasn't easy. I had several friends there…Well…That and a rival," as he grinned. "Tatewaki Kuno was determined to defeat me. He never succeeded."

"Thanks," softly whispered Rei. "You always know how I am feeling," as she picked up her purse.

"I don't have much," explained Koji. "But how about I treat you to an ice-cream cone at the Fruits Crown Parlor."

"I'd like that very much," gushed Rei.

"Great," Koji replied as he started to leave the park. "Follow me," as the pair left for the Fruits Crown Parlor together side by side…
