Prompt: What if Duncan was able to stop Gwen and Trent from breaking up?
Important info: This takes place after the western challenge in TDA
Everyone was waiting for Harold to finish bathing in the barrel. Well, not everyone. Duncan was one of the few that decided to take a shower in the communal showers. While he was on his way over, he came across Trent, who appeared to be mumbling 1-9 to himself.
Duncan walked up go him. "Dude, you seriously neednto chill with the nine thing."
Trent turned around and glared at the delinquent. "Why should I take advice from the person trying to steal Gwen from me?!"
"Dude, get a grip. We're just friends. You're paranoia is going to come back to bite you ya know."
Trent rolled his eyes. "Whatever Duncan. I don't have to listen to you."
Duncan shrugged. "You're right, you don't. But don't say I didn't warn you." He said as we walked off to take a shower.
About half an hour later Duncan had finished his shower and was walking to the cabins when he heard voices. He realized it was Gwen and Trent, and neither sounded happy. Duncan peered around the corner amd saw the two talking, both looking saddened as the conversation went on.
"I'm sorry, it's over." Duncan heard Gwen say. Over? As in their relationship?
"I hear you, loud and clear."
Duncan stepped out in front of them. "Well I sure as hell don't!" What was he even doing? He knew the two would eventually break up with the way Trent's been acting, but for some reason he doesn't want that. Maybe it's because Gwen's his friend? Whatever the reason, he couldn't let them break up.
"Duncan? How much did you hear?" Gwen asked.
"Not a lot, but enough to know what just happened." He responded
"Let me guess, here to rub it in my face that you were right about everything?" Trent sighed.
"What? No! What do you take me for an asshole?" The newly broken up couple gave Duncan a blank stare. "Okay fair point. But I'm here to make fun of you. You guys don't have to break up."
"It's for the best Duncan." Gwen told him.
"You were right, my attitude and paranoia were totally messing up relationship."
"Look, you made a couple of mistakes, but think we all did, including myself." Duncan said.
"You?" Gwen asked.
"Yeah, I knew Elvis was going crazy over us hanging, but I didn't care about it or make things any easier for him. So that's my bad. But Trent, you can't just get worried over Gwen hanging out with anothet guy. That just makes it seem like you don't trust Gwen as much as you don't trust me. And throwing challenges doesn't make you look any better. And Gwen, if you didn't feel comfortable with what Trent was doing, you should have just talked to him about it. You don't have to break up with him. You guys don't have to throw away everything you guys went through last season. So why don't we all try and better ourselves?" Woah, where the hell did all that come from. Maybe should see a doctor. Wait, I hate doctors.
Gwen broke Duncan out of his thouthts. "You're right Duncan." She then turned to Trent. "I should have talked to you instead of just letting things get out of hand. I guess I was just scared of things getting worse between us if things didn't end."
Trent then spoke. "And I shouldn't have been throwing challenges for you and being so paranoid of you hanging with Duncan. Do you think we can start over?"
Gwen gave Trent a kiss on the lips. "I'd like that. And this time no more letting the game get to us. We talk about anything that's bothering us."
"Sounds like a plan."
Gwen then turned to Duncan, who looked like he'd been staring into space. "And you."
Duncan snapped out of his daze. "Huh? What's up?"
Gwen stepped forward and hugged Duncan. "Thanks for looking out for us. You really helped us."
Trent nodded. "Yeah man. I'm sorry for how I've acted towards you before. You're pretty cool. I owe you one."
"Don't mention it. Seriously don't!"
"We won't have to, it'll be on tv anyway." Gwen smirked.
Duncan groaned. "Whatever. Let's go grab some grub. I think Chef made some eggrolls."
"Oh sweet, never had a eggroll before." Trent said as Duncan gasped.
"Never?! We are going to get you some right now!" Duncan swung Trent over his shoulder and made a mad dash towards the crafts services tent. Gwen gave a small laugh as she ran after them."
That's it
