Again, after what seemed like an eternity, Rick woke up, this time tied to an armchair in what seemed like an office.
It didn't take long for him to realize that, within reach of his hands, there were a series of buttons, which he could reach with his hands; two pairs of red and blue buttons on his right, and a green, a gray and four directional buttons on his left.
Weaver was quick to announce the test Rick was about to face:
-You're awake at last, fine. You've probably already noticed that there are a number of buttons at your fingertips. Do you see the doors to your right and left? The red buttons on your right are used to close them and the blue ones to illuminate their exterior.
Rick feared the worst.
"Don't tell me that..."
Weaver went on to explain:
-Those on your left do the following; green closes the ventilation duct in front of you, gray to access the cameras and turn signals to select the cameras.
A screen lit up on the desk in front of Rick; a percentage that marked 100 and an indicator of use could be seen.
This only confirmed Rick's fears.
-Don't you think you can stay here relaxed with the doors closed. Trust me, your tools consume energy, and you won't have enough of it forever. Your goal is simple, stay in the office for an hour...
… without dying.
Then he understood; he would have to fend off the animatronics, unable to move and with limited resources.
The voice in his head spoke to him again.
"Come on, don't you see that everything is against you? It always has been. You should let yourself go, and you will end your suffering."
Rick found it very tempting, but he rejected the idea. Anyway, he came to leave his demons behind, and to cling to life again. That his efforts were not in vain.
Determined, he pressed the gray button to see the cameras; the place he was in was an imitation of Freddy's, with everything dirty, messy and poorly lit.
For some strange reason, there were cameras in the vents.
"This is fuckingweird, but I've already seen weirder shit before."
And it didn't seem so strange to him anymore when he saw that in one of the cameras there was an open vent, and the animatronic dog he found trying to escape.
In another one, there was the first animatronic he encountered, completely motionless.
He continued looking at the cameras, until he came across two that caught his attention; in one there was a large curtain, and in the other a reinforced iron door.
"Who knows what's there..."
For a few minutes nothing happened; not a single movement, not a single noise. Nothing, and yet he had expended twenty percent of his energy.
Rick soon realized this, but that didn't make him give up.
"I must focus..."
And suddenly, in the distance, he heard metallic footsteps.
Alarmed, he immediately began to look at the cameras, seeing that the aberration of metal and rotting flesh had moved, and was heading to the office.
"Okay, I don't need to keep an eye on him. Thank goodness its stench gives it away."
Without giving Rick time to relax, something metallic was heard crawling; it was the dog.
"Fuck..."
In an instant, the situation went from agonizing tranquility to a frantic hunt; The two animatronics hurried to the office, one through the west hallway and the other through the vent.
In a reflex, Rick closed the door to his left and the ventilation shaft. Sixty percent.
Rick couldn't take it anymore, trying to free himself from the couch.
"Fuck it!"
Luckily for him, the ropes were worn enough that he was able to free his right arm.
Weaver didn't like that very much, and soon told him over the loudspeaker:
-WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!?
Rick heard the animatronics leave the doors of his office, worried about what Weaver would do at that moment.
Among the sounds, Rick distinguished yet another one; a curtain opening.
He checked the cameras again to see what caused it, and then he saw it; yet another animatronic, a blue and white cat.
"Shit..."
It seemed that Fazbear Entertainment had borrowed one of Candy's animatronics. And unlike the other two animatronics, this one was much thinner, and appeared to be smaller, at least about the same height as an average human.
Observing the animatronic, Rick felt a chill when he noticed a detail: He could only hear two animatronics and the curtain move, but more footsteps should have been heard given the presence of a third animatronic.
It was apparent that it did not produce a noise of its own.
Fortunately, he seemed to move slower than the others.
"Now I really have a good reason to check the cameras..."
Forty percent.
For some strange reason, the abomination and the dog returned to their respective rooms when they saw their attempt to enter the office frustrated.
And they started heading towards the office, again. And this time they accelerated their march.
With two killer "robots" hot on his heels, Rick became nervous trying to locate the third. He was nowhere to be seen, until he noticed a detail in the camera that was just in front of the right entrance of the office; A silhouette in the dark.
He immediately closed the door, with the cat about to enter the office narrowly.
Twenty percent.
The already stressful situation worsened when Rick heard a metal door open.
Nervous, he began to check the cameras.
It seemed that all the animatronics had disappeared.
Everything was quiet, until a voice was heard in the distance.
-Honey, are you there?
It was Jacqueline's voice, Rick's wife.
This would have been hopeful to him if it were not for a sad truth:
She has been dead for decades.
It seemed that the environment was playing tricks on him; suddenly Rick's place looked identical to the Freddy's he remembered, and children's voices and laughter could be heard in all directions.
Inevitably, Rick remembered that day once more;
In 1993, he and his family arrived at Freddy's to spend the afternoon with Pete's family, letting their children (Emily and Jacob) have fun. It was a wonderful day, until a strange and rapid blackout occurred. When the lights came back on, Rick was terrified; The children of several families, including his own, disappeared without a trace.
Interestingly, he remembers that animatronics had blood and snot coming out of their eyes and mouths at that time.
After the incident, all the families involved in it asked the authorities to do something about it and Fazbear Entertainment to at least show them what the security cameras captured.
The only thing that was done was to close the establishment, but nothing was done about the missing children.
Both Rick and Jackeline became obsessed with the subject, trying to hold on to the slightest chance that Emily and Jacob were safe and sound, moving heaven and earth to find them.
But one morning, Rick woke up alone, with a letter on his bedside table.
When he noticed the letter, he did not hesitate to read it;
"My love, forgive me for what I am going to do.
Our children were our life, and we have done everything in our power to achieve it. And that has ruined our lives.
I wish they were here, with us.
I wish this was just a bad dream.
But it's the harsh truth. I can no longer live without them and pretend that nothing happened. I can't go on.
I'm sorry for what I'm about to do, but I can't take it anymore. You were a great husband and my love for you has not faded, and never will.
Goodbye, Rick.
Your dear wife, Jacqueline Jones"
As he read the letter, Rick couldn't stop crying.
He then hurried down to the dining room, only to be greeted with a horrific scene;
His wife's body was hanging from a rope to the ceiling.
All Rick could feel was anger, sadness, and most of all, pain.
And so it has been since then.
