The Riddle of the Reptiles

Pacing in her bedroom, Kiki wondered what this reptile talk was. As she paced, an arrow flew through her open window. It was not a real arrow, but rather one of those toy arrows with the suction cup at the end. Around the shaft was a letter.

Kiki was not normally one for cursing, but she nonetheless asked: "What the heck?" Alright, maybe it wasn't much of a curse, but for her it was still the closest she ever got.

Picking up the toy arrow, Kiki unrolled the letter and found it to say: "If you wish to know about the reptiles, then meet me at the school library tomorrow at lunch."

Well, that was… What even was this? Creepy? Mysterious? A bit of both? Was this that… What was his name? Some person had framed Lee Ping for the prank, what was his name again? It had been something with an L… Leroy Williams?

No, that wasn't it… But he had been using an alias, a username… What had it been? RatCircles? No, that was close, but what was it?

RadCircles! That was it!

Was this that RadCircles? He had been an old guy disguised as a student, that's what everyone said. If that was the case, would he really be using… No… Word had gotten out that he had used a parrot or even sent emails to communicate with people, if not just video chatting with them. There was no parrot, no email, no video chat, no communication of that kind… Who in the world, sent this?

Walking over to the window, Kiki froze. Down below in her yard was someone wearing an owl mask. Well… That was… That was creepy.

Staring down at the masked-individual, their attire giving no clears to biological gender, Kiki felt uneasy as they stared back at her, the toy bow in their hand.

Finally, the masked-individual walked away and Kiki was left wondering just who that was. Could that have been… No, no! She already came to the conclusion it could not have been RadCircles, RadCircles was some old guy… But what if it was? Ever since the Prank things had gotten weird… Okay, weirder apparently, but weird nonetheless, at least that was what everyone said when the secrets got out.

Who could have known that she found that bit of paper talking about these mysterious reptiles? Was someone trailing her? Was it whoever had stolen Barrage's duck?

Barrage's duck! Such an odd thing to steal, but sometimes the odd led to bigger things. That was right, wasn't it? Kiki had no idea. It might have even been a distraction because why in the world would someone risk the wrath of their principal by stealing one of their belongings?

Did Lee Ping and his friends ever have to solve such an unusual mystery? Well… Probably… The whole mystery behind the prank probably qualified.

Hearing her dads singing along to the soundtrack of "Sweeney Todd", Kiki was suddenly pulled from her thoughts. Such an odd musical to sing along to. It was like singing along to that Richard Harris song about a cake being left out in the rain, only that song was just weird, "Sweeney Todd" was such a dreary thing in Kiki's opinion. Then again, her dads often sang along to odd choices, so why did this seem any different?

Still… A person in an owl mask shows up and shoots an arrow, a toy arrow, but an arrow nonetheless, through her window with a note attached and then walks away… Was this a regular thing for an A. Nigma student or was it positively mundane?
