A/N: Following the movie's ending, see where Miss Peregrine and the children set route for and how their relationships start to bloom. I'm gonna mostly center around Jake and Emma but there will be some Olive and Enoch as well. I will be switching POV's. I guesstimated the ages of the characters, hopefully they're right.

Disclaimer: I didn't read the books (don't kill me)

Chapter 1

Jake POV

My legs are burning as I sprint down the dock. "Please don't leave yet, please don't leave yet!" I chant in my head with each stride I take. I don't see anyone on the outside of the ship walking the decks. The salty air whips at my face and hair, trying to sway me from my target. My hand finally grabs the railing of the ramp. Using my 6 '2'' stride, I bound up and leaped onto the boat. My time in the navy seems to be paying off.

Sprinting up the stairs, I make my way to the helm of the ship. But suddenly a bird flies into my face, making me skid to a stop. After so much time at sea, I raised a hand to swat away the assumed pesky seagull. But, this one was blue and made no move to attack. I realize it's Miss Peregrine, in bird form! She quickly turns herself and flies to the upper deck, calling at me to follow. Making quick work of the last flight of stairs, the sun blinds me until I see someone even brighter.

She's just like I remember. Her beautiful blonde hair, the light blue dress, and her lead boots, staring out at the open waters. Emma Bloom. The girl that kept me going, the one person I wanted to come back to. The one that I would cross land, sea, air, time zones, and worlds to find. And there she was, waiting for me. Not wanting to waste anymore time, I cross the distance with ease. She hears me coming and turns slowly. The look on her face is first shock, disbelief, joy, then shock again.

"You have no idea how long it took me to get here." I say. (A/N: We know where he was and what he did. We'll know more deets later ;) )

Before I knew it, Emma was leaning closer to me, her lips connecting with mine. Her right hand reaches up and weaves itself in my much longer hair. The other gripped my arm tightly. As our lips disconnect, an icy cold washes over me. I immediately recapture our lips and wrap both of my arms around her waist tightly. I pull her body flush with mine, as both of her hands have now found their way around my neck and in my hair. As our lips move together, there's no foreignness or nerves, only a longing and a feeling of home. Sadly, we have to come up for air. I rest my forehead against hers, not loosening my hold on her for one second, for fear I might be dreaming. One of her hands comes to rest on my cheek. Our eyes lock together, still some disbelief flash between us but we both know that this is real.

I close my eyes and nuzzle into her hand, loving the feel of her and the comfort she brings.

Unbeknownst to us, all the other children were cheering for us and prepping the ship for our departure. Now, with everyone accounted for, the ship gave a lurch and started plowing its way into the sea. I held Emma tightly, as the ship wobbled. "I'll need to get up there soon before someone flips us." I look up at the helm and notice Miss Peregrine flying over us. Emma looks up too to see our beloved Ymbryne hovering for a moment before gliding off to the rear of the ship.

"We better get inside. The rest of them will be excited to see you." Emma says, pulling my eyes back to her beautiful face.

"In a sec, I want to hold you for a moment more." I raise my hands, gently cradling her face between them. "I get lost in your eyes everytime you look at me. It's amazing that I haven't drowned in them. You are so beautiful Emma." Tears start to gather in her eyes as she blushes and looks away. She holds my wrists tightly, taking deep breaths. Her shoulders tense suddenly, she pulls my hands down but doesn't let them go. "Why did you come back Jake?"

The air around us turns cold. "How does she not know? I came back for her and only her! She's the one person that kept me going. Her voice haunted my dreams and her presence stalked me by day. You are the one that made me want to time travel, just to see you again!"

"Emma I - "

"Ah, Mr. Portman! Welcome back, you've been missed terribly." Miss Peregrine announces herself, making her way towards us. Emma lets go of my hands completely, crossing her arms instead. My heart sinks at her question and now how she has retreated from me. "I've missed you too Miss P. I couldn't get here fast enough. But, nothing was gonna stop me from getting back to you." I say the last part looking directly at Emma. She raises her head just enough to see my face, a flash of hope in her eyes.

"Well, I'm sure the others would like to properly welcome you back as well. You two will have plenty of time to chat once we make this vessel liveable for the time being." Miss Peregrine reaches out her arms to wrap me in a warm hug. "You've missed each other terribly, be patient and kind." I nod against her shoulder before pulling away. She turns to Emma and grasps her arm. Giving her a motherly look, she turns and makes her way to the stairs.
