To all my faithful readers and friends, I am formally announcing my retirement from writing fan-fic stories.
I know this may be a shock to some of you, or maybe you figured it out for yourself that this was inevitable.
I also realize that I should have been updating my stories regularly, and that most of you know just how difficult it is to come up with new chapter ideas, and also to remain original. Neither is 'easy', believe me.
I began writing fan-fiction stories over a decade ago, after being mesmerized by one story in particular in the 'Rosario to Vampire' fandom. That story is 'Dreams, Changes, and a Vampire".
I have also learned so much by chatting with fellow authors (and fans of these stories that we all love) that I decided that I'd try my hand at writing my version of what I wanted to see in certain fandoms.
Either the manga I read had an unsatisfactory ending, or I wanted one thing to change, or wanted to see how the story would play out differently if I were the author. And I have no regrets doing so as writing took up a great deal of my free time. I did this not for myself, but for the fans of certain fandoms. And the response was overwhelming, in a good way.
Sure, there are some readers who flamed me in the past, which caused me to nearly stop doing what I had loved doing. But, with the support of everyone here, whether they be a random stranger on the internet, or who became a friend and /or fellow writer. You are the ones who encouraged me to not waver nor give up due to some pretty bad reviews.
Now I write this with a heavy heart as I no longer have the motivation to continue my now-unfinished stories, and for that, I deeply apologize. I know you all want to see these stories have a happy ending, but alas, that won't be possible. Maybe if I had entered the world of fan-fiction at a much younger age, things may be different today.
I will not be leaving the site, but I will not be writing anything for the foreseeable future.
But who knows when inspiration will strike again, so I can someday return to writing for a fandom that did not end over a decade ago. If you know, you know.
Thank you for your support for these past 14 years, and for you time reading my farewell speech.
Until next time,
Bob Luce (Gamera68)
