In the prosperous, fertile lands of Hyrule's western regions, where emerald fields stretched as far as the eye could see and the air was filled with the scent of blooming flowers, a shadow loomed over the arid deserts of the Gerudo territory. The sages of Hyrule, foretold the rise of a demon king—one born from the Gerudo, destined to bring ruin upon the land and extinguish the royal bloodline. Fear spread like wildfire through the kingdom, seeping into the minds of its people and twisting their hearts.
The Hylian king, driven by desperation and the weight of his crown, resolved to act before the prophecy could unfold. He rallied his soldiers, and with the unyielding resolve of a ruler determined to protect his kingdom, he led them into the harsh Gerudo Desert to crush the perceived threat at its source. The Gerudo, a proud and noble people, were caught unawares, their strength no match for the overwhelming force of Hylian steel. In a single night, the tribe was decimated—women, warriors, and children alike fell to the blades of the invaders, their cries lost to the unforgiving sands around them.
But among the chaos and bloodshed, a single act of mercy would alter the course of destiny. A Hylian soldier, his sword stained with Gerudo blood, found himself standing over a dying woman. Her eyes, filled with sorrow and fear, pleaded with him as she drew her final breath. "Spare my son," she whispered, her voice barely audible above the howling desert winds. Cradled in her arms was a newborn—Ganondorf, the last of his kind.
The soldier, heart heavy with the horrors of war, looked down at the innocent child. His orders were clear, yet as he raised his blade, something within him faltered. The baby's gaze, wide and uncomprehending, pierced through the darkness of his soul. Unable to carry out the grim task, the soldier made a decision that would forever bind the fates of two children. He took the Gerudo infant in his arms and brought him back to his home, where his own son, Link, awaited. The soldier and his wife, bound by love and compassion, raised Ganondorf as their own, alongside Link, forming a fragile but beautiful family.
Years passed, and the once-strong soldier and his beloved wife fell gravely ill. As death approached, the soldier, weakened but resolute, begged his father to take care of Ganondorf as if he were his own son, reluctantly, the old man accepted, promising to raise Ganondorf along with Link. And so, Ganondorf and Link, two boys of vastly different origins, were raised together under the watchful eye of their grandfather. In that moment, the threads of destiny continued to weave, setting the stage for a story of brotherhood, betrayal, and a kingdom's fall.
