Cyborg Monster vs Space Ninja
It was a clear, and sunny day in Tokyo when a semi-metallic monstrosity attacked. Its hooked claws tore through buildings like they were tissue paper, in place of eyes it had a singular red visor, Upon its back were three fin-like wings that somehow allowed it to fly, its mouth was a curved metal beak, and a buzzsaw-like rotating cutter was centered on Its abdomen. It was the biological weapon created by the aliens of the M space hunter nebula, Gigan.
Gigan
Cyborg Monster
As the cybernetic kaiju rampaged to Its hearts content, a different extraterrestrial had his compound eyes set on Earth.
A UFO soared in, and hovered over Tokyo tower. Gigan paid no mind to it as he continued to gleefully cleave through skyscrapers.
"Attention people of planet earth! We, the people of planet baltan have arrived to lay claim to your lands. Cooperate or be destroyed." A deep voice announced, using Tokyo tower to broadcast its message all across Japan.
Gigan did not understand the words, but the modified space dinosaur wasn't appreciative of having his rampage interrupted by some intrusive noise. His visor locked on to the offending saucer, and he let out a metallic roar before unleashing a torrent of flame from his beak.
The UFO quickly raised itself out of the flame's path, but Gigan himself took to the air in an attempt to slice it. Lasers fired from the ship simply bounced off of Gigan's green, and golden scales as he rushed closer.
Seeing as Its attacks had no effect the flying saucer took evasive maneuvers, but it was too late to avoid critical damage. Gigan's buzzsaw grazed the side of the ship, causing it to veer off, and plummet into the city below.
Having taken care of the nuisance Gigan landed back on the ground, wiped his claws together, and roared in delight to return to his demolition of the city.
From the wreckage of the downed UFO stepped a bipedal insectoid creature, he had a mix of human and cicada characteristics, with a turquoise carapace, and silver crustacean-like claws. His normally yellow eyes were red with fury. He wasn't going to let this act of aggression go unpunished.
The alien flew above the skyscrapers, and spied his attacker, stomping buildings into rubble with his back turned to his location. Despite his lack of wings the alien flew at great speeds towards Gigan, firing a white beam of energy from his claws at the back of his head, which made the cyborg turn back around.
The alien flew overhead unnoticed, and landed behind the distracted space dinosaur, before growing to a size that rivaled it.
Baltan Seijin
Space Ninja
Baltan Seijin wasted no time smashing both claws down on the back of Gigan, knocking him flat on his stomach. Baltan opened both his claws to fire a power blast at his downed foe, but the space dinosaur quickly revved his buzzsaw, dragging him across the ground, out of harm's way.
Once Gigan made a city block's distance his rotating cutter came to a halt, he smashed his right hook down on the street, and stabbed his left into a building to pull himself upright. Now that he was back on two feet Gigan turned to face the coward that had blindsided him. Seeing the crater between them, Gigan let out a furious roar, and flew forward in an attempt to impale his opponent, only to pass straight through.
Gigan hooked his tail around the corner of a building as his feet skid to a halt. The image he had passed through disappeared and the real Baltan was nowhere to be seen, but an evil, gloating laugh could be heard in the direction Gigan came from.
"Fofofofofofo." Echoed throughout the city.
Gigan scanned the area for any sign of movement, opting to remain cautious instead of rushing in headlong like a former ally of his would've. As a reward for his attentiveness Gigan noticed Baltan running behind one building to another, the perfect chance to catch him off guard.
A light flashed above Gigan's visor, before firing off a red laser of atomic energy, tearing straight through to the other side of the building, before it collapsed from the damage. Much to Gigan's frustration Baltan was no longer there, and the laughter was getting closer.
Gigan sensed movement to the left of him, but only got a flash of Baltan's image when he turned. He smashed the two buildings Baltan had run between in frustration, revealing nothing.
Laughter again, this time from behind him. Gigan quickly turned to see Baltan standing there, and immediately fired another laser, only for it to harmlessly pass through, another fake. Gigan had had enough, and breathed a stream of fire onto the buildings surrounding him, if Baltan wasn't going to show himself Gigan would burn him out.
For a baltan seijin fire was a minor annoyance, but if Gigan wanted to decrease his own visibility with smoke, who was he not to oblige? Baltan blindsided Gigan with a blast of his own flame, fired from his claws. This turned out to be a mistake.
Gigan resisted his enemy's flames, and fired a laser at the baltan's eye, partially blinding him, and putting a stop to his mocking laughter.
As Baltan recoiled in pain, Gigan hooked his claws around him, pinning the insectoid's arms down. With a gleeful cry Gigan revved his cutter, gashing and tearing through chitin.
If Baltan didn't think quick he'd be ripped to a bloody pulp, he wasn't able to lift his arms, and there was no way his proboscis could pierce those reinforced scales.
Just when it looked like all hope was lost, Baltan opened his claws, and fired downward as intensely as he could, carrying both him, and Gigan high into the air. Gigan's grip loosened in surprise, and Baltan used the opportunity to kick away, pointing his still firing claws towards him for good measure. The ensuing blast knocked Gigan to the ground, and carried Baltan to a shoreside field where he doubled over to catch his breath.
Baltan's reprieve was short lived as a burnt Gigan barreled towards him at mach three. With no time to react in his current state Baltan took Gigan's buzzsaw blade to the head, part of his crest fell to the ground as the sadistic space dinosaur landed behind him.
Baltan quickly turned around, charging what looked like a red beam of light in his claw, but Gigan swung his own claw, hitting the inside of Baltan's causing an explosion that completely destroyed Baltan's arm, and badly damaged Gigan's hook.
Baltan knew he had no hope like this, so he resorted to trickery, creating dozens of false copies of himself as he snuck off in hope of recovery.
Gigan wildly swung his claws at illusion, after illusion, creating small detonations whenever his undamaged claw hit the ground. It wasn't too long before all of the incorporeal copies faded, and Gigan began his search for the real Baltan.
With luck Gigan didn't have to search for long, he noticed the damaged form of his enemy leaning against a pagoda, facing the ocean. Gigan approached, but the baltan had no reaction, maybe he was resigned to his fate, or maybe he had already died? Gigan didn't care, he was going to crush the other alien's head.
Gigan lifted his good claw, and brought it plummeting down on the baltan's exoskull. There was a crunch, not a satisfying crunch, more like a crinkle. Gigan realized that what he just attacked was nothing more than a discarded shell.
That laughter was back, that arrogant laughter.
A flash of red light overtook Gigan's vision. The cyborg monster froze in place, only his single, visor protected eye was able to move, which gave Gigan a side view of the flying dropkick headed his direction.
Baltan slammed feet first into Gigan, smashing him into the pagoda with incredible force. Gigan was completely dazed, this time he had no way of avoiding Baltan's charged white destruction beam. The blast destroyed his other claw, tore apart his wings, cracked his visor, and launched him back into the plain.
His systems were failing, he couldn't feel the ends of his limbs, his cutter was jammed, and everything was shaded deep red. Gigan struggled defiantly to get back up, refusing to accept death.
He got one last look at his most recent enemy flying towards him claw first, it seemed like that molt got rid of all the battle damage that Gigan inflicted on him. Cheap trick.
Baltan clenched his claw around Gigan's head, a red light began to shine from within, and flashed intensely. Baltan removed his claw, and Gigan fell over, foaming at the mouth.
"Pest." The baltan spat as he began to charge one final blast of his white destruction ray.
"Wait!" A feminine voice called from the sky, halting Baltan's attack. The energy gathered in Baltan's claws dissipated.
Countless UFOs filled the sky, one of which landed before the giant baltan seijin, who shrunk back down to human size in response.
"And just why should I?" The baltan asked, with his arms crossed and foot impatiently tapping, as a second baltan exited her ship. This one had a dark brown exoskeleton.
"That is the Nebulan's superweapon, the terror beast Gigan." The female baltan illuminated.
"Fascinating." The male baltan sarcastically drawled.
"And it nearly killed a Baltan warrior."
"I was there."
"You still don't see what I'm getting at?" The female baltan groaned, exasperated. "If this creature can cause that much havoc modified with inferior nebulan technology, imagine how deadly it would be if we were to upgrade it."
"To do that means we would have to halt our invasion plans." The male baltan countered. "We can't continue without the aid of our scientists."
"The earth will still be here by the time our scientists have finished their work."
"With the way that the humans have been treating it, I doubt it." The male baltan scoffed.
"And just why, per say, are we looking for a new planet?" The female baltan queried, pointing out her brethren's hypocrisy.
"I suppose there is logic to your viewpoint." The male baltan admitted. "Very well, the people of earth can rest another day."
"We weren't able to track your ship's signal, so I assume it has been damaged beyond repair." The female baltan concluded. "Do you require transportation?"
"That would be quite helpful." The male baltan accepted.
Both cicada-like aliens boarded the female's stationed vessel. The UFO started up and began to hover over the downed Gigan, a bright light flashed underneath it, and Gigan was nowhere to be seen. With the spoils of their victory the entire baltan fleet withdrew as unintentional saviors of Tokyo.
Aboard the baltans' head ship the figure of Gigan was held suspended from the ceiling by countless metal wires.
The inert terror beast was surrounded by scaffolding that held dozens of baltans working tirelessly on upgrades, while within the cyborg hundreds of baltans that have been shrunk to the size of insects were conducting internal repair.
Gigan's visor began to glow.
This has been a battle between a criminally under-utilized kaiju from the godzilla series, and a criminally under-utilized alien from the ultraman series.
Just something I wrote for fun, and to practice writing a battle scene. I finished most of it in one night, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I think I'll do more like this down the road.
EDIT: Fixed the lie breaks
