The Murder of One

The same day, Elena walks up the stairs of Alaric's apartment building, carrying breakfast for him. She comes to his front door and knocks, surprised to see Damon answer. "Morning, Sunshine," Damon greets her, smiling at the Doppelganger.

"Hey, how's Alaric?" Elena asks, trying to look around Damon, but he keeps blocking her view of the inside of the apartment, and he even closes the door slightly as she tries getting through the door.

"Indecent, but fine," he lies, keeping hidden what they're doing inside.

"So then, does that mean there were no issues last night?" She asks him, looking at him with uncertainty.

"Nope. Slept like a baby, woke up Alaric," the cocky Vampire replies. "No dreams about dead Council Members."

"Then why do I feel like you're hiding something from me?" The Doppelganger wonders, looking at the older Salvatore brother.

"Well, maybe because you're being all paranoid and control freaky," Damon retorts, looking at her. "What'd you bring me?" He takes the bag from her and sniffs it. "Ooo, chocolate muffins. You know what they say; a way to a psycho killer's heart is through his stomach." Elena takes the bag back from him, glaring at him.

"They're not for you," Elena snaps.

"Fine. Keep convincing yourself you're still mad at me," he retorts. "But sadly, Ric's gonna have to miss Elena time today. You know, lockdown and all."

"Just take it and give it to him and tell him that I miss him, okay?" She tells him, handing Damon the bag of muffins.

"With pleasure," the older Salvatore brother replies, trying to close the door.

"Please," the Doppelganger says as he starts shutting the door on her.

"Have a great day, thanks for coming by," Damon tells her, closing the door as she tries to say her name, but she doesn't finish. Damon walks over to Alaric and Matt, both standing by a table saw with the replacement Wickery Bridge sign. The Vampire listens as Elena leaves, heading downstairs and out of the building, commentarying as it happens. "Walking down the stairs, opening the front door, and she's gone." Alaric turns on the saw and lowers it, beginning to cut the sign. Later, Damon, Alaric, and Matt create stakes from the replacement Wickery Bridge sign, and Alaric inspects one of the stakes.

"This needs to have a sharper point," Alaric tells Damon, handing it over to Damon.

"I got it," Damon assures him, sharpening the edge.

"We finally have our own stakes to kill an Original," he remarks, looking at his friend. "I'm not gonna miss because you can't whittle."

"I said I got it. Stop micromanaging," the cocky Vampire grumbles, sharpening the point of the stake, and Alaric puts on his jacket.

"Looks like you guys have got this under control," the Vampire Slayer says, looking at them. "I'm gonna call the Sheriff." Damon and Matt look at him in shock. "I want to turn myself in."

"No you don't," Damon argues, shaking his head.

"I have a homicidal alter ego," Alaric argues back. "Unlike some people in this room, I would like to take responsibility for the people I've killed."

"If you wanted to turn yourself in, you wouldn't be saying it out loud. Just saying," he retorts, holding his hands up in mock surrender.

"Hey, listen, out of all the people you cannot psychoanalyse me. I killed Caroline's father; I nearly killed Meredith. Everything's changed," the History Teacher argues, shaking his head.

"Look, you're not turning yourself in," Matt tells him, making the older males look at him. "Bonnie's herbs are working and we have Originals to kill."

"His morals get very questionable when he has revenge on the brain," Damon jokes.

"Klaus needs to die. We finally have the chance to kill him, so you are not turning yourself in," he replies, glaring at the Vampire. Damon gets up and turns to Alaric, handing him his Gilbert ring.

"Here's your ring, Ric. Put it on," the cocky Vampire tells him, and Alaric looks at it.

"That ring is the reason I've killed people," Alaric argues, glaring at the ring.

"It's also the reason you're alive. You're going Vampire hunting, Ric. Wear it," Damon orders him, and Alaric takes the ring, putting it on.

Caroline sits in the Pack Den family room with Blake and Stefan, tears streaming down her face after Bonnie texted her about what happened with Alaric and her dad. "Alaric Saltzman killed my father," Caroline sobs, and Blake hugs her as Bobby comes into the room.

"Hey, no one expects you to be okay with this," Stefan tells her, holding her hand, and Bobby moves over to the blond Vampire, the two new Hybrids comforting her.

"Bonnie said that they were using herbs for Alaric are healing him and they're keeping the dark side buried," she sneers, wiping her tears away.

"Well, that sounds like they're making excuses," Bobby argues, and the blond Vampire moves into him, wrapping her arms around his thin body as she cries.

"Has Elena tried to talk to you?" Stefan asks her, knowing the Doppelganger will try to get Caroline to forgive everything.

"Yeah. She said that it was horrible and that she feels terrible for me, but he's also a victim of something supernatural, he didn't ask for this, it just happened to him. Like the fact that that makes it okay. She even tried guilting me about Bonnie's mum, Tyler, too." Caroline cries, and Bobby frowns. "Never even mentioned me. Like I had a choice."

"No one asks for it," Bobby retorts, thinking about how he became a Werewolf.

"Yeah," Blake and Stefan mutter, looking at each other.

"God, this is depressing," Caroline muses, wiping her tears.

"He was your father," Bobby replies as she moves away, trying to smile, but they can see that it's fake. "What would you like to do today?"

In the woods out the back of the Salvatore Boarding House, Elena and Matt walk together, both receiving a text from the cocky Vampire. "Hey. What's with the cryptic secret meeting text?" Matt asks her, clearing the silence.

"I don't know. Damon just said to meet here," Elena replies, and Damon appears in front of them with a surprised face. "John?"

"Hello Elena," John greets her.

"Where's Bonnie?" Damon asks, looking for the Bennett Witch. "I texted her too."

"Um, Bonnie's mom bailed on her. Again," Elena informs them. "So, I think we should leave her out of this one."

"What are we doing here?" Matt asks them, having been kicked out of Alaric's apartment after finishing the stakes.

"We found some more White Oak. Long story, wait for the movie," Damon retorts, looking at the others.

"Hang on. White Oak? You have a weapon that can kill Klaus?" Elena asks, looking at her biological father and Damon.

"Nope. We all have a weapon," John corrects her, throwing down a duffel bag with fake White Oak stakes inside.

Meanwhile, earlier that morning, Lorilei gets changed and heads out of her bedroom with a suitcase, ready to leave New York when Klaus arrives. The doorbell rings, and Finn answers the door, seeing his younger brother at the door. "Hello, Finn," Klaus greets his older brother with a firm smile.

"Hello Niklaus," Finn replies, glaring at him a little, still feeling angry at him for putting him in a coffin for nine hundred years. "Care to stay for breakfast?"

"Gladly," he says, stepping into the apartment and moving past his brother to Lorilei, who looks at the brothers. "Hello, Love," he smiles at Lorilei, who smiles back at him, the two kissing quickly. "How has my boring brother been?"

"Leave your brother alone, Nik," Lorilei scolds him. "He's been lovely, what would you like, Finn?"

"I could go for a muffin, a savoury one, like that egg one you made the other day," Finn suggests, and Klaus looks between them, seeing the way his brother looks at Lorilei, the way he used to look at Rebekah when they were human, as a sister. Lorilei moves into the kitchen, and Klaus moves after her.

"I was hoping you'd be able to aid us in finding the spell Esther used," Klaus says, making Finn look at him as he sits at the counter.

"And how would I do that?" He wonders, taking the cutlery and setting the counter for the three of them.

"Well, we think your mother doesn't know that you've decided to live, and we were hoping you'd like to raid her mind and find the spell." Lorilei clarifies, turning around as she puts the muffins in the oven.

"Okay, but I don't know what good it will do, how do you know you can do the spell, Lorilei?" The older Original brother asks, looking at Lorilei as she takes some plates from the cupboard.

"I've performed a few spells from her Grimoire before, when I was much younger. And let's be fair, a McKnight Witch stands on the edge of darkness," she tells him, looking at the Original brothers.

"If you think you can do it, I won't stop you, but Mother used Dark Magic; I don't want you to get harmed trying to unlink us," Finn argues, and the timer dings, making Lorilei turn around and get the muffins out of the oven. She plates them up, places them before Klaus and Finn, and joins them at the counter.

"Thank you for the concern, Finn, but I promise I can handle the spell, but I don't remember seeing it in her Grimoire when I was living with Elijah, is it possible she might not have kept every spell in there?" The Siphon wonders, digging into her muffin.

"It's possible," he replies, looking at them. "I would feel better if I didn't get a Dagger for my troubles." He turns to Klaus, who looks back at him.

"I can assure you, that won't be happening ever again," Klaus reassures him and looks at his girlfriend.

"Once you're all unlinked, I'm putting the immunity spell on all of you, no more Daggers," Lorilei informs them.

"You can't do two big spells after the other, that much magic will drain you," Finn warns her, and she smiles at him.

"I am a Siphon, I use up other people's magic, remember," she reminds him, and he looks at her. "I can use up the right amount for one spell then take more for the next. I've done it before. I killed my parents by draining them of all their magic. I can do this."

"Alright, if you think so, but if anything happens, a few days won't matter," he argues, and Klaus looks at them.

"I agree," Klaus adds, making Finn and Lorilei look at him.

"Least you don't have the Daggers to make your silly little threats," the Original brother snaps, glaring at his younger brother.

"Play nice you two," Lorilei sighs. "Eat your food, we need to get back to Mystic Falls quickly if we want to make sure the Scooby Gang don't try anything while you are all linked."

"Klaus has always been one step ahead of us, but now we have the advantage," John remarks, standing before the others as they plan to kill the Originals. "We're all armed and they are all linked, meaning we only need to kill one of them. We need to seize the best opportunity, which means we need to prepare for every opportunity."

"Scenario number one," Damon says, grabbing Elena and moving her over. "You get to play Klaus."

"Okay," Elena agrees, looking at him, and John doesn't like the doey-eyed look she gives him. Stefan may not have been the best boyfriend, but they were over, and now she's falling for Damon's charms.

"Rebekah is our target so we distract her and catch her off guard," John tells them, having talked with Alaric and Damon about what's been going on in Mystic Falls while he was trying to find a way to kill an Original and ended up empty-handed. "To do that we need to keep Klaus separate and occupied." He looks at the others. "Lorilei is the key."

"How are we supposed to do that?" Matt asks, looking at them. "She's a powerful Witch, who hasn't been in town lately?"

"Klaus left town this morning, I believe he's gone to bring her back," he informs them. "If we can keep them occupied and have Rebekah away from them, we'll be able to continue the plan." Damon walks over to John.

"But for right now we need you to play Rebekah," Damon tells him. "We use the quarterback to distract her. Just keep her talking."

"How?" Matt asks, looking at them.

"Act interested. She's lonely, desperate," he suggests, shrugging.

"Clearly. She slept with you," the human mutters, making Elena suppress a grin.

"Hm. Beefcake holds bombshell. I come up from behind her," the cocky Vampire says, ignoring the comment as he goes behind John, grabbing his arms and putting them behind his back. "Grab her arms like this."

"Ow!" John snaps, and Matt comes up with the stake in his hand, imitating and stabbing John.

"Gives me time for one shot," Matt remarks, and Damon lets go of John.

"Got it? Good," Damon retorts, looking at the others. "So we all have one stake, we keep it hidden and we look out for any opportunity we have. No last minute attacks of pity for any of them." He looks over at Elena.

"Don't worry about me. Not after what happened to Bonnie's mom," Elena assures them, and he looks at her before turning to Matt.

"Busboy?" He asks, looking at Matt.

"Do I have a choice?" Matt replies, looking at him with a frown.

"Good point," the older Salvatore brother muses.

"We have 12 stakes, 12 shots at killing one Original. We can do this. Alright, let's try another scenario," John tells them and looks at his daughter. "Elena grab a crossbow," he instructs her, handing the crossbow. "Matt, you play Klaus." Elena takes it and aims the crossbow, her lessons paying off.

Klaus, Finn, and Lorilei soon arrive at Klaus' mansion. Rebekah comes out into the foyer and is happy to see them return safely. "Gather your Witch. Let's get his blood and get on with it," Rebekah announces, smiling.

"Nice to see you too, Rebekah," Finn retorts.

"I am happy to see you, Finn, but everything needs to move fast or we might be all dead soon enough," she argues. "And I have a welcome home present." She moves aside, revealing Sage as she walks down the stairs. Finn looks at her, still unsure how he feels towards his old flame but smiles at her.

"Hello Finn," Sage says, smiling at him, but it becomes uneasy as he keeps staring at her.

"Sage," Finna replies, and she moves towards him, pulling him into a stiff embrace.

"What do you know, true love prevails," Rebekah mutters, but Lorilei shakes her head at the blond Original, who looks at her. Klaus moves over to Lorilei, smiling and lightly pecking her lips.

"Where is Kol?" Lorilei asks, looking at her boyfriend.

"Somewhere causing mischief, I imagine," Klaus retorts, pulling Lorilei upstairs and leaving Finn and Sage downstairs. "Why, thinking of causing some mayhem?"

"Something like that, and the spells would be easier with a former Witch prodigy and a power source." She argues, shrugging, and Klaus pulls her closer.

"I don't want you to ever siphon from anyone but me unless necessary," he lowly growls, and Lorilei looks at him.

"I make it nice for you, others I don't," the Siphon argues, smiling at him, taking a little from him as he hums, feeling the light tingle under his skin.

"As lovely as that conversation is, I have something to do," Rebekah remarks, making the others look at her. "What do you need from me for this spell?"

"Just your blood and your blessing. Where are you going?" Klaus asks her, looking at his little sister.

"I have some unfinished business with Damon Salvatore," she tells him. "Ask Sage what he did to me. Then you'll understand why retribution is in order." She storms out of the mansion, and Klaus watches Finn and Sage, seeing his older brother uncomfortable around Sage.

Damon places his fake White Oak stake underneath a pile of firewood in his bedroom at his house as Alaric watches, remembering a similar hiding spot with the moonstone some time ago. "I mean, did you learn nothing from the moonstone in the soap dish?" Alaric wonders, looking at his friend.

"Why? Where'd you put yours?" Damon asks him, but they hear a noise downstairs before Alaric can answer. Damon gets up, looking at his friend. "What the hell was that?" Damon leaves the room and walks downstairs. Suddenly, he sees Alaric thrown down the stairs and falling to the floor. "Ric?" The older Salvatore brother looks up the stairs, turning around to help his friend, but gets stabbed in the stomach with a knife; he looks up to see Rebekah standing before him.

"Hello lover," Rebekah purrs as everything goes dark.

Elena walks around Town Square on her phone, leaving a message for Bonnie, who hasn't called anyone for a few days since Abby abandoned her again. "Bonnie, we're starting to worry about you. Call me back or call Caroline. Just call someone, please." She hangs up and walks up to Matt, spotting Caroline and Bobby walking around, almost like they are on a date.

"Mr Saltzman was like the most normal guy in town," Matt muses, looking at his ex-girlfriend as they walk around.

"Yeah," Elena replies, frowning. "Is it weird that Bonnie's not returning my calls?"

"Is it weird that Klaus' brother is in the middle of Town Square?" He replies, and they look over to see Finn and Sage walking around, an awkward air around them.

"That's Finn. I thought he left town," she questions and sits down, pulling Matt with her as they watch the awkward couple.

"So, can you guess why I dragged you out here?" Sage asks, looking at her former lover, feeling the strange air around each other.

"If memory serves me, this is where the Natives used to make sacrifices to their Gods." Finn replies, looking around at the beautiful flower beds around Town Square.

"This statue was built where we used to rendezvous," she remarks, pointing at the statue in the middle. "Back when you used to have to sneak away from your siblings to see your tawdry lady friend."

"I assumed after 900 years you've moved on," he says, hoping she had, as everything now feels different between them.

"I took care of myself," the red-haired Vampire tells him, alluding to her tawdry affairs. "But I never stopped loving you, Finn. I don't want you to die."

John heads to the Salvatore Boarding House when his phone rings. He sees it's Elena on the other end and answers. "Hey," John greets his daughter.

"Hey. Where are you?" Elena asks her biological father, looking around, not wanting to be overheard by any enemy Vampires.

"I just got to the Boarding House. Why?" He replies, closing the door behind him as he walks into the parlour room, hoping to find Alaric and Damon.

"Klaus' brother, Finn is in the town square and he's with some ex-girlfriend or something," she tells him, glad they already told him everything.

"Ex-girlfriend? Guy's been in a coffin for the last 900 years," John questions, then pauses. "Sage. It's got to be Sage." He remembers Damon talking about her earlier.

"We have an opportunity. So how do we do this?" The Doppelganger asks her father, looking at Matt.

"Listen to me, Elena, do not do anything, okay?" He warns her. "Sage is very old and very strong. You don't stand a chance against her."

"Then get Damon and get down here," Elena tells him, and John spots Alaric on the staircase, injured and barely conscious.

"What the hell happened to you?" John asks, kneeling beside Alaric, who looks up at him.

"John?" She asks, growing worried as there's silence on the other end.

"Rebekah happened," Alaric groans, looking at John.

"I think we have a problem," he announces, frowning.

Rebekah brings Damon back to the mansion, clamping bear traps around his wrists as he hangs from the ceiling in the ballroom. "I found them in the shed," Rebekah informs Damon as she finishes prepping him for the torture. "What kind of monster would trap a poor, defenceless animal?"

"You've got to admit, even for me, it's a little kinky," Damon remarks, playing it off as she picks up a knife from the table near the wall, filled with different kinds of torture devices, then walks around Damon playfully.

"You pretended to be interested in me," she sneers, glaring at him. "And then you slept with me so your trampy friend, Sage, could steal my thoughts. Ever since then I felt this incessant need to one-up you. So I've decided to bleed the vervain from your system." She rips open his shirt and cuts Damon's chest with the knife, making him groan in pain.

"You want to compel me to be your boyfriend?" He jokes through the pain.

"Actually, I'd rather compel you to kill your friends. Or Elena. But, since Vampires heal, bleeding you may take a while. We should probably stick to the major arteries," the blond Original argues, cutting Damon's neck, making him bleed profusely as it leaks down his neck. Klaus comes into the room with Kol, who looks at the blood and torture devices.

"Well… look what you've caught," Kol beams, rushing to his little sister's side.

"If you're trying to bleed him of vervain, don't you think it would be easier to hang him upside down?" Klaus remarks, looking at his sister's work.

"I'm perfectly capable of inflicting pain, thank you very much," Rebekah rebuts, looking at her work.

"Well, excuse me, it's not like I have any expertise in the matter," he retorts, rolling his eyes sarcastically.

"I think you're doing a marvellous job, sisters," Kol encourages her.

"You know, why don't you just leave me be and go and manage Blue?" Rebekah tells them, smiling. "And don't even think about it Kol, go bother someone else." Klaus grins before leaving, and Kol groans, following his older brother. Rebekah turns back to Damon, smiling. "Hmm, where were we?" Klaus goes upstairs with Kol to Lorilei's study and sees her sitting at her desk with a few candles around her and some parchment lying before her.

"Tick tock. I should hear chanting by now," Klaus remarks, looking at his girlfriend as she reads through Esther's Grimoire.

"I'm still studying the unlinking spell, Nik," Lorilei snaps. "It's not that easy, especially under your eye. It's not an easy spell to do."

"I get that, Lorilei, but we don't have a lot of time to sit around and hope the spell works," he argues, walking over to her.

"I get that, Niklaus, but it won't be an easy spell to do. I have everything ready, so stop critiquing the way I work," she growls, standing up and moving away from him with the Grimoire.

"Leave her alone, Nik," Kol tells her, moving to the desk and looking over everything. "She's got it all sorted. Let her muster up the magic."

"Thank you, Kol," The older McKnight says, smiling. "So, can I get on with this or are you going to keep looking over my shoulder?" She turns to Klaus, who looks at her.

"Kol, can you leave for a moment?" Klaus requests, and Kol looks at the couple before nodding and closing the door. "I trust you. I know you don't think you can do this, but I have faith in you. All of us do."

"Nik, I need more magic than I can get from either you or Kol. She was channelling the whole Bennett line, I don't have access to that kind of magic on the spot. I mean…" Lorilei says but stops, thinking about something.

"What's going on in that lovely brain of yours?" He wonders, seeing the wheels turning in her mind.

"Your mother is in the basement," she grins, looking at him. "With magic from the Bennett line still coursing through her veins."

After getting Elena's frantic voicemail, Bonnie arrives at the Boarding House and goes into the library, seeing Alaric lying on the couch. "Hey," she greets him, making him look at the Bennett Witch. "I hear you had a run-in with Rebekah."

"Yeah, I'll live. What are you doing here?" Alaric asks her, looking at the poor girl. "I thought you'd still be at home after everything."

"Checking up on you. In case you're not you," Bonnie replies, cringing at the mention of her mother.

"I'm me," he assures her.

"Well I guess not you would say that too. Which is why…" she says, showing him the bottle of herbs she made for him. "Elena said you haven't had your daily dose yet. I hope it tastes better than it smells." She hands him the bottle.

"It doesn't," the Vampire Hunter groans but drinks his medicine. "Mmm. That's disgusting." He puts the bottle down on the table.

"It's either that or kill people, so. Elena told Caroline everything," the Bennett Witch informs him, and Alaric looks at her then looks away, avoiding the judgy Witch's gaze as she sits down before him.

"Caroline," Alaric mutters, thinking of the perky blond teenage Vampire. "I want to tell her how sorry I am. I don't even know what else I could say to her."

"Right after she was turned into a Vampire, she killed someone," Bonnie tells him, making him look at her. "A stranger. She just…killed him. And what's worse, I overheard her tell Stefan that she liked it. She has blood on her hands too, I mean we all do."

"Yeah, but the blood on my hands is her father's," he argues, hanging his head in shame.

"Yeah, it is. And maybe the guy she killed was someone's father too. Look, all I know is, no one is any better than you. So, I'm going to take a page from the Elena Gilbert handbook and choose to believe that you can be saved. Okay?" She assures him, and he looks at her.

"Okay," the Vampire Hunter repeats.

Elena walks up to John, who stands outside the Mystic Grill, looking at his phone as he reads Matt's text. "Hey. How is he?" Elena asks him, walking over to him.

"Hey. He's just banged up," John assures her. "Bonnie's gonna stay with him and make sure Alaric stays Alaric. Matt texted me and said Finn is still in the Grill. We need to plan our next move."

"Wait, wait, Rebekah has Damon; our next move should be finding him," she argues, wanting to get Damon back.

"No, we need to stay on point. See an Original, kill an Original. That's the plan," he snaps, wanting to protect his daughter.

"Yeah, that was the plan before Damon's life was hanging in the balance," the Doppelganger snaps back at him.

"Look, Elena, I understand that you're concerned about Damon's life, but if he even knew, for one second, that we were talking about missing a chance to kill these people he would lose his mind." John argues, not wanting the plan to fail because Elena's got cold feet.

"Yeah, and if the roles were reversed he would stop everything to save you," Elena lies, and John looks at her, knowing she's lying.

"We both know that isn't true, Elena," he retorts calmly, knowing she cares for Damon.

"What he would want and what we should do are two different things," she argues, throwing her hands up.

"You gonna help me with this or not?" John asks her, and she stares at her father scornfully. "Okay, I'll figure it out myself." He leaves, not wanting to get badgered by her some more.

Damon is feeling weaker after Rebekah keeps draining him of blood, and the bear traps keep him trapped. He hears someone approaching and looks up, seeing someone enter the room. As they get closer, they come into focus. It's Elena. "What are you doing here?" Damon croaks, his voice raw from the screaming. "Rebekah will kill you."

"Then hurry up and - and tell me what to do," Elena replies, and Damon looks up at his wrists, which are trapped in the bear traps.

"Open them. Carefully," he tells her, and she opens one of the traps and grabs Damon, holding him up while she opens the second one. Damon is too weak to move independently, so Elena holds him up. They walk out of the room and down the hall. He starts falling over, and Elena urges him on.

"Damon. Come on, come on, we have to keep going. Damon," she mutters, looking around. They make it to the parlour, and Damon collapses on the floor; Elena falls beside him. "No. Look at me. Look at me." She grabs his face in her hands.

"Don't be an idiot, Elena," the older Salvatore groans.

"I am not going to leave you. Damon? No," the Doppelganger argues and holds her wrist to his mouth. "Hey, hey. Drink." Damon bites into her wrist and starts feeding. After a while, he stops and looks at Elena. He moves in toward her, and their foreheads touch. The whole thing is really a delusion. Damon is still stuck in the bear traps. He hears footsteps approaching.

"Uh, you bitch," Damon sneers, glaring at Rebekah.

"It's not fun when someone messes with your thoughts, is it?" Rebekah muses, looking at him with a cold smile.

"Actually, I was having a pretty good time in there," he argues.

"Mmm, well I hope you were nicer to Elena than you were to me," she retorts.

"Oh, come on, I couldn't have hurt you that bad," the cocky Vampire snaps. "You didn't really think I had a thing for you, did you?" Rebekah tries hiding the hurt look, but she can't. "I get it. If Klaus bossed me around for a thousand years, I'd probably be pretty desperate for attention too." Rebekah grows angry and stabs Damon in the stomach, making him scream. Lorilei hears and looks at Kol as they walk downstairs to the basement.

"What is your sister doing now?" Lorilei muses, peeking inside to see Damon and Rebekah. "She seems to be having fun."

"Too much fun," Kol pouts.

"Well, we're going to torture your mother, that should put you in a good mood," she argues, walking to the door that is magically enforced to not let anyone in without a specific spell. Lorilei waves her hand over the door knob that glows before unlocking it.

"I love your magic," he laughs, closing the door behind them. "Where did you learn that one?"

"A friend from college, she used it on our dorm room when we learned there was a thief around," the Siphon replies, turning on the light. "Found the thief trying to get into our room, and Maddox beat the perv, which happened to be our TA."

"Sounds fun," the sinister Mikaelson laughs as they reach the basement to find a nice room. Esther is lying in bed, seeming almost peaceful as she sleeps in constant rest. "She seems almost peaceful."

"She seems almost harmless," Lorilei retorts, walking towards Esther. "Seems almost cruel to do this while she gets to sleep." She moves her hand, touching the Original Witch's hand and beginning to siphon the magic from Esther.

"Don't take too much," Kol warns her. "We might need her later."

"I know, I know," she mutters before pulling away. "Let's get this spell finished before something happens." They race upstairs, locking the door before heading back upstairs to her office with Klaus, who takes out a case and opens it. There are bottles of blood inside.

"Very organised Nik, very nice," Kol remarks, teasing his big brother a little.

"Whose who?" Lorilei asks, looking at her boyfriend, who points at each bottle.

"Elijah. Rebekah. Kol. Finn," Klaus replies, smiling at Lorilei as he points at each bottle before biting into his hand and holding his bloody fist, letting the blood drip from his fist.

"Where do you want this?" Klaus asks, and Lorilei shakes her head.

"Do not get blood on my desk," she warns him, grabbing a bottle and holding it under Klaus' hand, letting the blood drip into it.

"Wouldn't dream of it," he retorts, and she sighs.

"New desk if the blood stain doesn't come out," the McKnight Siphon argues, making him look at her in shock and quickly grab a cloth. Kol howls with laughter as he watches his brother trying desperately to wipe the blood from Lorilei's pure white desk.

"That's not coming out," Kol laughs, and Klaus turns to look at him, glaring at his little brother.

Sage takes Finn to the Mystic Grill for something to eat and drink on their supposed date and sits at a table. "You've never had tequila before?" Sage asks, looking at her former first love, who hums.

"Lorilei and my siblings are trying to get me up to date with everything I've missed," Finn replies, not noticing the sour look as she pours the salt on Finn's wrist. Sage licks the salt off her wrist and shoots the tequila. Finn copies her, not noticing John Gilbert sitting at the bar, watching them. "Happy now?" Sage hands him a lime, and he sucks it, trying to get rid of the bitterness. "I'm truly awed by the evolution of mankind." Sage laughs when a man approaches their table.

"Hey Sage," he greets the woman.

"Hey Troy," Sage replies, and Troy nods at Finn before leaving.

"You know him?" Finn asks, looking at her.

"I turned him," she informs him, and Finn frowns, thinking about what Sage has done while he's been sleeping in a coffin for 900 years.

"You turned him? Why?" He asks her, feeling a little hurt, but not as much as he would feel.

"Because I'm in enemy territory," the redheaded Vampire argues. "When your brother and sister called, I thought I might need a little backup. You can't trust anyone here." Matt approaches their table, and Sage grabs the human's wrist. "Two more tequilas?"

"Yeah, cool, I'll let your waitress know," Matt replies, playing off that he was listening to their conversation. John nods at Matt, sitting at the bar and pushes a tiny bottle of vervain to his side, which Matt grabs with a coffee cup.

Back at the mansion, Lorilei begins to cast the spell to unlink the Original as she pours one of the vials of blood into the cup on her desk as Klaus and Kol watch.

"How many people have you turned?" Finn asks Sage as they sit. He only sees a different person than the one he fell in love with 900 years ago.

"I don't know," Sage replies, shrugging. "A lot. Don't judge me, Finn, you turned me."

"Exactly Sage, I turned you. My passion overtook my morals," he snaps at her.

"My passions overtake my morals on a daily basis. It's called living life to the fullest," she argues, and John texts the others.

John

Get ready

Lorilei continues the spell, feeling the magic draining from her as she mixes all the siblings' blood and pours it onto the parchment on the table.

The waitress places two tequila shots on Finn and Sage's table, unaware of its vervain. "Finally," Sage sighs, and John gets up from the bar and leaves. "Oh, thanks." She raises her shot. "To living life to the fullest." Finn looks at her and sighs, raising his shot glass and clinking it against hers.

"To living life," Finn repeats, looking around, and Sage laughs as they drink their shots. Suddenly, they spit the liquid out and over the table, choking.

"Oh, what the hell?" She sneers, glaring at the shot glass.

"Vervain," he grunts, his throat sore from the vervain. Finn turns his head, and he and Sage see John leaving rather quickly. Though they don't know him, they smell the vervain coming from him. John stops and stares at them before walking out the door. Sage and Finn, in their anger, get up and go after him.

The blood starts dispersing into five different circles as Lorilei continues the spell, smiling as it works.

Outside the Grill, John hides around the corner from the raging red-haired Vampire and older Original Vampire. Finn and Sage exit the Grill, looking around for the human. John goes to stab Finn, but Sage grabs him and throws him onto the ground, making the stake fall down the stairs to the basement of the Grill. "Finn, the stake!" Sage shouts, not knowing the stake isn't the real deal. Finn runs down the stairs to grab the stake.

The flames flare as Lorilei continues the spell. The large pool of blood becomes five separate pools of blood that are moving away from each other. Klaus smiles as he watches his girlfriend.

Finn is about to grab the stake when Elena and Matt exit the basement door. Elena shoots Finn in the stomach with a crossbow, and Matt comes in, stabbing him with another stake directly in the heart. "No!" Sage screams, rushing down the stairs to Finn's side. Matt and Elena quickly go back inside the building and close the door. Sage cries as she watches Finn die and strokes his face, thinking he's dead forever. John looks down from the top of the stairs and quickly leaves, not wanting to face her wrath. "Finn, no." She cries, but Finn doesn't burst into flames like Mikael, though no one in the Scooby Gang knows as they leave the scene before they can find out. Sage backs away from Finn's desiccated body and continues to sob.

Meanwhile, Lorilei completes the spell at the mansion as the blood pools are entirely separated. Klaus looks at her, waiting for a response. Moments later, Rebekah enters the room, wiping blood off her hands and seeing Klaus move towards Lorilei, who seems tired from the strong spell. "Is it done?" Rebekah asks, looking around the room. "How are you feeling?"

"Yeah, it's done. I am wiped," Lorilei replies, lounging in her plush white chair as she feels her magic depleting from the strenuous spell.

"Thank you, Lorilei. I am going back to torturing Damon Salvatore," she replies, smiling before heading out and back downstairs to Damon.

"Give him hell," the McKnight Witch jokes, and Kol laughs.

"I think I'll join you," Kol says, leaving the couple alone in Lorilei's office.

"How are you really feeling?" Klaus asks, turning to Lorilei as the door closes and his siblings leave.

"I told you, I'm fine," Lorilei assures him, closing her eyes.

"Tell that to your eyes," he argues, stroking her cheek.

"I'll take a nap," she agrees, moving into his warmth.

"I like that idea," the Original Hybrid muses, lifting Lorilei into his arms and heading out of the office and into their room, letting her rest.

After supposedly killing Finn, John and Elena arrive at the Boarding House and enter the library. "Hey. How's Alaric?" Elena asks Bonnie as she sits alone.

"He'll be okay. I gave him a bottle of herbs and he went home. Oh, did you guys kill Finn, did it work?" Bonnie asks them, looking between her friend and John.

"Nothing works until I see Klaus' dead body myself," John retorts. Elena's phone rings and does not recognise the number, but she answers.

"Hello? Who is this?" Elena asks, frowning as she looks at John and Bonnie.

"Hello, Elena," Rebekah smirks, teasing the Doppelganger. "I have Damon. I'd be careful about what you do next."

"Rebekah…" she whispers, making John and Bonnie snap their heads in their direction. Elena grows tense after hearing the blond Original's voice and discovering that the other Originals are alive. "Kl-Klaus should be dead. They should all be dead, we just killed Finn," the Doppelganger argues, shaking her head after Rebekah hangs up the phone.

"Lorelei must have done a spell that unlinks all the siblings. She already did it to herself before we could kill them with Esther's help," Bonnie says, sighing. John silently grits his teeth at Klaus and Lorilei being one step ahead of them again. Like Elena, Bonnie grows scared and worried about what will happen now.

"What should we do? Should we get Damon?" Elena asks, looking at John and Bonnie for help.

"It's at Klaus' mansion, Elena. It's bad enough that they're all still alive. We need to be careful about this after we just killed Finn," John argues, looking at his daughter.

"I need a minute," she mutters, leaving the library. She quickly texts Stefan, thinking this will push him over the edge to help them take Klaus, his family and Lorilei down.

Elena

Rebekah just called me and told me that she has Damonx

Stefan

I'll sort it. Leave it to me.

Elena

What are you going to do?x

Stefan

Just stay out of it, Elena.

Stefan jumps from the armchair in the family room, moving quickly out of the room, alerting Blake, Alexis, and Jeremy, who stay away from the mansion while Lorilei performs the unlinking spell. "Where are you going?" Blake asks her boyfriend, tailing after him.

"I need to go to the mansion, Rebekah apparently has my brother," Stefan tells her, going into the foyer and grabbing his jacket.

"I'm coming with you," Jeremy says, grabbing his coat.

"No you are not," Alexis argues, glaring at her boyfriend.

"I need to say a few things before Stefan lets him go," he tells her, and Alexis sighs, knowing that Jeremy hates Damon for temporarily killing him.

"Okay, but don't do anything stupid," she warns him, kissing his cheek, and the two boys head out, getting into Stefan's car and heading on the short drive to the mansion.

John leaves the Boarding House, heading for Klaus' mansion with Elena following him. "Stay with Bonnie. I'll call you when it's over," John tells her.

"John, stop. Klaus is stronger than you, we need another plan," Elena argues, not wanting him to get hurt.

"What we need is for Klaus to be dead," he retorts, and Elena grabs John's arm, turning him around to face her.

"John, stop it! You're acting on anger!" She snaps at her father, not wanting to lose anyone else.

"Anger gets things done, Elena!" The older Gilbert male snaps.

"Or it'll get you killed! It'll get Damon killed along with you," the Doppelganger shouts.

"Klaus does not get to survive this, not after everything he took from us," John argues, walking out and slamming the door. Elena flinches from the harsh noise, and Bonnie enters the front hall.

"He's just trying to help," Bonnie tells her when suddenly the door flies open, and John is thrown through it, hitting the far wall. Sage enters the house, smiling with tears still streaming down her face.

"Ding dong," Sage sneers, and Bonnie uses a spell to protect herself and Elena, but Sage throws the little Witch to the ground. "I'm not here for you. I'm here for him." Elena runs to the front door, but Troy blocks her path.

"I don't think so," Troy teases the girl, and Sage approaches John.

"I had to kill him," John argues, backing away from her on his hands.

"Oh, you think so?" Sage muses angrily, kicking John, making him go flying into a chair. "Good. Then you should know I like to go all ten rounds." Bonnie moves carefully and raises her hand, making Sage start coughing, and her nose starts bleeding as her blood begins to boil. John looks up at her in shock but moves towards his bag of weapons and grabs a stake while she's distracted. John jumps and plunges the stake into Sage's chest, making her look at him in shock.

"Sage?" Troy questions, looking at the woman who turned him. John stands on his feet, and Troy glares at the man, throwing a punch at him as Sage hits the floor dead. John grabs his fist, but he throws the human to the ground.

"Some help here!" John shouts, moving away from Troy as he keeps swinging at the human. Elena rushes at the bag of weapons and grabs the crossbow, shooting at Troy and being careful not to shoot John. Troy backs away in shock.

"What the hell!" Troy shouts, and John grabs another stake, plunging it into his chest; now both Sage and Troy are dead.

"Are they dead?" Elena asks, looking at them.

"Yeah, we're good," John sighs, holding his stomach from the kicks and punches from the Vampires.

"Why would they come here?" She wonders, looking at the dead bodies.

"Sage loved Finn and we just killed him," Bonnie tells them, looking at John and Elena.

"Yeah, I guess that's true, but that doesn't explain why she bought Troy," the Doppelganger muses, looking at them.

"It must have been a Sirebond maybe," John concludes, looking at the girls. "We need to get those stakes back. Something doesn't feel right."

"Like what?" Bonnie asks, looking at him.

"We killed Finn, if the Originals and Lorilei find out, we're dead," he retorts. "We need to work ahead of them, we need to make sure that we live another day."

"And how does giving them the stakes that can kill them going to do that!" Elena argues, looking at her father.

"Who says I'm going to give them all of them," John argues.

Damon is still strung up by the bear traps in the room with Rebekah when Stefan and Jeremy arrive at the room. "This was much different in my mind," Damon groans from the pain.

"What's going on here?" Stefan asks, looking at Rebekah and his brother.

"I'm having a little revenge is all, Stefan," Rebekah retorts, glancing over at them. "I'll let him go soon enough."

"Do you mind?" Jeremy asks, stepping up to the blond Original.

"Sure," she replies, handing over the knife, and Jeremy takes it before stabbing it into Damon's stomach. Damon screams in pain, and Stefan watches, unsure how he feels. Jeremy steps away and stands with Stefan when the door opens again to John, who storms into the mansion with a duffel bag.

"Klaus, I'm here! Let's do this!" John shouts, looking around and spotting Damon. Klaus enters the foyer, looks at Stefan and Jeremy, and then turns to John.

"I believe, Lorilei told you both not to come here," Klaus scolds them. Jeremy cringes, knowing that Lorilei will give him the riot act, and Stefan looks at his friend, wondering where Lorilei is. Klaus turns to John, looking at him. "Oh good, a hero. What do you want?" John drops the duffel bag with the fake White Oak stakes at Klaus' feet.

"I'm here to make a deal," John replies, glancing at Damon. He feels sorry for the man, but he wants Elena safe.

"John, what are you doing?" Damon groans and looks at Stefan, hoping he will help his brother.

"Eight stakes made of White Oak. The part of Wickery Bridge that you forgot to burn," he informs them. The Original siblings, Stefan and Jeremy, look at each other, trying to hide their smiles at the stupidity of the Scooby Gang.

"That's impossible," Rebekah argues, looking at it and hoping they're lying and that Lorilei is right about there being no more White Oak.

"Actually it's not. Finn is dead," John argues, making Klaus and Rebekah stiffen at the news.

"You killed my brother?" She snaps, glaring.

"Damon in exchange for the last eight weapons that can kill you," he declares, seeing the look Klaus is giving him.

"And how do I know there aren't any more left?" Klaus muses, looking at John as he fights the urge to kill him for his brother if the news is trustworthy.

"Because there aren't," he argues, hoping they believe his bluff.

"Let's be certain, shall we?" The Original Hybrid replies, walking over to Damon. "Leave." He compels the cocky young Vampire.

"No," Damon argues.

"Go on. Leave," Klaus repeats more sternly.

"Nik, he's my plaything not yours," Rebekah argues, pouting playfully. Klaus grabs Damon by the throat and compels him again.

"I said, go home," he demands, and Damon starts pulling his wrists out from the traps, peeling the flesh off of it in the process as he screams in pain.

Bonnie comes in from outside to see Elena sitting on the floor in the parlour, placing stuff back on the end table that was knocked off during the fight, "Vampire disposal. Not something I like or ever want to do again. Uck. Where'd John go?" Bonnie asks her best friend.

"Trading the stakes for Damon," Elena replies, and Bonnie sits beside her.

"All of them?" she asks.

"No, not all of them. We still have uh- enough to kill three out of the four of them. If we can figure out who to save," the Doppelganger argues, not looking at her.

"How are we supposed to do that?" The young Witch wonders.

"I have no idea. Caroline was turned with Damon's blood, and Damon and Stefan were turned by Katherine, and we know that Katherine was turned by a Vampire named Rose." Elena explains that she does not want to lose her friends and holds them back so that Caroline will come to her senses and help them.

"Well, who turned Rose?" Bonnie asks her.

"We don't know. But it can only link back to one Original and if the odds are in our favour, hopefully it won't be Klaus. So that we can still kill him," she retorts, and Bonnie suddenly looks worried.

"Elena," the inexperienced Witch mutters, getting up. "Even if Klaus didn't create our bloodline, we know for a fact that he turned one of us." Elena looks at her as it dawns on her.

"Oh my God. Tyler. If we kill Klaus, then Tyler will die," the Doppelganger confirms, thinking of her friend, but then she realises that he's Klaus' henchman. "I don't think it will matter." Bonnie looks at Elena in shock as she hears those words.

Damon continues to pull himself out of the trap under the compulsion from Klaus. "Alright, stop, stop, stop, before you hurt yourself," Klaus teases him, and Damon stops trying to escape. "Well, seeing that he can finally be compelled. Now." Klaus grabs Damon by the throat and compels him again. "Minus the stake that's in my brother, how many more stakes are out there that can kill me?"

"Eleven," Damon groans.

"Eleven! Really? So, not eight then," he muses, turning to John.

"You really shouldn't have lied," Rebekah tuts, glaring at John.

"I'll get you the other three," John assures them, not liking the odds against the two Originals in front of him.

"Yeah, that'll be nice. Or since you lied, maybe I'll just compel Damon to chew out his own tongue." Klaus suggests, glaring at him.

"What is wrong with you?" He mutters, looking at the Original Hybrid, who steps up to him when the front door opens behind them, making them all turn to see Finn with a hole in his shirt coming through the door. "What the hell…"

"Ah, brother, I'm glad to see you're still alive," Klaus says, and John looks at him and then at Finn.

"I'm sure you are," Finn retorts, moving into the room.

"How… I thought you were dead?" John asks as Finn walks past him and joins his siblings.

"That would be because you don't have a real White Oak stake," Stefan informs them, making John look at him.

"We have Lorilei to thank for that," Finn remarks, looking around the room for the Siphon but not seeing her anywhere.

"Now, because you tried to kill my older brother, I feel like you've learned your place," Klaus muses, looking at John, who shifts under the Original Hybrid's glare. "So, we'll allow Damon to leave, but I want those stakes. Even if they are fake. I want them destroyed. And tell the others that any move against me, my siblings, Lorilei or the Pack members, we'll rain hell down on this little town." John gulps as he sees the deadly look coming from the Originals and nods. Rebekah walks over to Damon and releases him from the traps, making the older Salvatore fall to his knees.

"Have a nice day," Rebekah smiles, picking up the duffel bag with the fake White Oak stakes and leaves.

"Remember bring us the stakes. All of them," Klaus says, looking at John. "Or I will wage a war against everyone you love. I hope I'm being clear." John grabs Damon, wrapping his arm around his shoulder as Stefan watches them leave out the door, unsure of how he feels about his brother.

"Can we go now?" Jeremy asks, looking at Stefan, who nods.

"See you in the morning," Stefan says to the Originals and exits the mansion to his car with Jeremy.

"Where is Lorilei?" Finn asks, looking at Klaus.

"She's resting," Rebekah informs her older brother, who looks at her. "The spell was hard on her."

"She'll do the other spell tomorrow, she assured us," Klaus tells Finn.

"She shouldn't try to push herself," Finn argues, looking at his younger siblings, who look at him.

"I'm fine," Lorilei assures them, walking into the parlour. Klaus moves towards her, wrapping his arm around her waist, moving her towards the couch and sitting down. "I'm fine. A little tired, but it's nearly midnight."

"You should still be resting, Love," Klaus argues, looking at his girlfriend.

"I'll be fine in the morning," she tells them. "The spell worked, you're all unlinked. Kol's been making sure. I found blood on my office floor. I'll need that cleaned soon before it stains."

"We can't have anything nice with Kol around," Finn jokes, making Lorilei laugh and the Original siblings smile.

"I heard my name?" Kol asks, coming into the room with his siblings and Lorilei, looking at her and sharing a laugh. "What?" They keep laughing. "What?!"

"Nothing, brother, nothing," Finn smiles, looking at his younger brother.

"I'm really tired now," Lorilei announces, getting up, and Klaus moves towards her. "You can spend time with your siblings. They won't bite. Well, Kol seems like a biter." This gets Finn and Rebekah laughing again. Kol looks at them in betrayal but hides the smirk as he looks at Klaus and Lorilei, seeing a whole different side to his older brother.

Stefan sits in his new room, which he shares with Blake at the Pack Den. He feels bad that Phoebe practically got kicked out of her own room, but she loves not having to share anymore. She loves Stefan's old room, saying she will completely redecorate it. "Hey," Blake says, making Stefan look up at her as she walks into the room in her pyjamas, ready for bed.

"Hey," Stefan replies, moving from the window bay to the bed.

"What's on your mind, you've been quiet since you got home?" She asks, looking at him as she sits on the bed.

"I went over to the mansion and I saw Damon strung up with bear traps and I didn't feel a thing." He replies, sighing and lying on the bed, pulling the covers over him.

"I see," the red-haired Hybrid mutters, lying beside him. "I think you did feel something, Stefan. I know you."

"I… I felt like he betrayed me. He keeps doing things that he shouldn't. He almost killed all of us. Why can't he leave things alone," the former Ripper grumbles, turning over and wrapping his arms around Blake, who snuggles into him.

"I think you should talk with him tomorrow," Blake suggests, closing her eyes.

"I don't know what good that will do," Stefan argues. "All this time and energy that I've wasted in the past trying to connect with him seems wasted. It's done, it's over already. I've lost my brother."

"Seems that you want to work it out with him, maybe get him alone and talk, before you completely write your brother off." She tells him, turning around to face him.

"I think he's completely written me off," he retorts, looking into her eyes, and she looks back at him.

"I think that's a load of crap," the Hybrid says, stroking his hair as he nuzzles into the pillow.

"Thanks, sweetheart," the younger Salvatore brother groans, pulling away.

"Stefan," Blake sighs, wrapping her arms around him and keeping him close. "Listen to me. I love you. I know you want to fix your relationship with Damon and I think you should try, even if it's to find out where you stand with your brother. This is only about you and Damon, nothing more."

"I don't think he'll want to talk to me," Stefan grumbles. He wants a good relationship with Damon, but they're on different sides.

"Why do you think Damon is so hellbent on killing the Originals?" She asks him, turning him to face her. "Why would he want to hurt you? And I'm not saying this because of anything else, but the facts laying before me."

"Elena," he mutters, looking at her. "She's the only reason I can think of why he would push so hard. We've lost people because of her. I almost lost myself, and he's falling for her so easily."

"Because he wants to. Elena isn't even in danger. She must know that," the red-haired Hybrid argues, looking at him.

"Not if she makes everyone believe that she's still in danger," the former Ripper muses, groaning and throwing himself on the bed.

"Very attractive," Blake teases, earning a scolding look from her boyfriend.

Damon knocks on Alaric's loft door, and he answers, looking at his friend. "Ah, he's still alive," he remarks.

"Yeah, for now. I need your stake," Damon tells him, and Alaric goes over to his bookshelf, pulling some books away, but there's nothing there.

"It's right behind these books here," Alaric tells him, moving more books away.

"A bookshelf, really?" He questions, watching him. "At least I was trying to be clever about it." Thinking about his imaginative hiding place.

"Where the hell is it?" The Vampire Slayer wonders, moving more books as he frantically looks for the stake.

"Ha ha ha. Look harder, Ric," the cocky Vampire snaps, growing worried as his life is on the line.

"It's not here, Damon," Alaric tells him, and they search through the other shelves.

"Maybe you just forgot which shelf you put it on," Damon argues, looking behind all the books on his side.

"No, I didn't forget. It's – I – I put it right here! A stake doesn't just vanish into thin air!" He snaps back at his friend.

"Who else did you tell, Ric?!" The older Salvatore brother retorts, throwing books onto the floor.

"I didn't tell anybody, Damon! I'm the only…" the history teacher says, but it dawns on him what happened.

"What?" Damon asks, looking at Alaric.

"I'm the only one who knew about it, Damon," Alaric replies, looking at him, and Damon looks back at him, realising what he means.

"No. Are you telling me that your Vampire hating alter ego has a stake that could have potentially killed an entire line of Vampires, possibly mine?" He exclaims in anger and fear.

"That's exactly what I'm telling you," the Vampire Hunter tells him, leaving a looming feeling over both their heads. "What do you mean potentially?"

"They weren't White Oak. They burned all of it," the cocky Vampire informs him, and Alaric sighs, glad it's not life-threatening. "I would still look for it, Ric, because I only have a few hours otherwise it's my ass that's burned." He shows his daylight ring. "Lorilei cursed it. I burn for the others trying to burn Finn."
