Auxiliary Chapter: The Captive Elf

It's all my fault. My recklessness caused all these losses. I should've known my place and left when Shadow ordered me to. But I didn't... and it costs me dearly.

I allowed myself to be captured in order to allow the other Shades to escape. Most of them were reluctant to leave but… surprisingly Necromancer took only me. Considering his evil, he should not have missed that chance to capture all seven of us, especially after he just banished Shadow, the only obstacle to his supremacy.

I've taken care of them since Shadow and I found and saved them from Possession. They are my new family and I can't bear having them suffer under Necromancer's hands because of my mistake. It is good that they are spared that fate. Only I should suffer.

At first… I was in despair and so I don't know what to do… and I didn't notice the signs… the oddity in Necromancer's behaviour. I behaved too emotionally during our fight, the same mistake I made all those years ago when I led a team of Numbers to raid one of his tombs, resulting in their deaths. I should've… been more cautious and know when to retreat. Now Shadow is gone and it's all my fault. I suppose my capture is punishment. Whatever horrible fate awaits me from now on… is the result of my failed leadership.

I was teleported to Oriana throne room where 666, the Acolyte, Adra and Oriana nobles, officials and royal guards are waiting. Necromancer wasted no time and proceeded to brag about his evil deeds to 666… to Rose Oriana… and forced her and the entire kingdom into servitude. Such wickedness makes me hate him more… but… I can't deny how perfectly crafted his evil plans are. He toyed with all of us not only in combat but also in schemes as well. Even Shadow struggled to keep up with his schemes considering even he couldn't prevent this when he confronted Rose… resulting in her activating the Black Rose as Necromancer wanted her to.

"Apprentice. Follow."

"Y-Yes, master!"

He called out to the Acolyte, his apprentice, the only one who received his magical knowledge directly. From her demeanour I deduced that the Acolyte is a young woman. She was distracted by something. Is she feeling pity for Rose Oriana? Who are you behind that mask, Acolyte? How curious.

Then he brought me to his base using teleportation, parading me as I was bound in chains made of my own slime suit. My suit is designed for flexibility and thus I cannot help it when it accentuates my body shape so well… But thanks to that, his minions, the Reaper Squad, ogled me with lust in their eyes. I hid it well but… I fear he would just give me to his minions… or even take me for himself. But… in case he decides to take me to his bed himself, can I use that chance to kill—Why am I even bothering? I stabbed him in the heart and it didn't work. I doubt it will make any difference no matter where I stab him. He is a monster, be it in appearance, in behaviour or in power. His minions I can handle. But if he himself were to…

Surprisingly, he didn't allow his minions to take me, nor did he take me himself. Of course… I'm not a person in his eyes. I'm just an animal… a test subject for his profane experiments. My beauty didn't move him. Only pain, death and destruction would…

He took some samples of my blood and locked me in a cell which is warded with anti magic barrier, which makes me unable to use magic inside and thus unable to utilize my smile suit, which he already took away. For modesty, he gave me a white robe similar to the one Olivier used to wear when she was experimented upon in the Sanctuary. How surprisingly kind of him.

Then I spent a few days in that cell, expecting him to come to torment me again. But he never came. Is he so busy with other experiments or evil plans that he neglects me? Is he really the type to micromanage the takeover of Oriana instead of just delegating things to his subordinates?

Either way, all these silent days left me with time to think… as I have nothing else to do but think these days. After thinking about it, I realize I cannot give up now… no matter how powerful he is, Shadow will return. He always do. Even Necromancer seems to imply that will be the case. I must have faith in him.

Also, now that I think of it, Necromancer's behaviour was… odd, unlike what I usually expect of him. He behaved strangely ever since that monster tried to absorb his magic. I recall he mentioned about not allowing someone to control him. Someone's trying to control him? If so… who? That eldritch creature from another world?

Also… when he was about to deliver the finishing blow to Delta… he stopped and muttered "Char"… what or who is this Char? And why did this Char stop him from killing Delta? Ugh… too little information.

Speaking of information… my captivity should be an opportunity for me to gather information. I remember that Shadow was able to unleash his ultimate magic even within the Sanctuary, which drains magic of whoever is inside. Also, when we were younger, when he taught us magic, he emphasizes that control and solidifying your magic is key to making your magic more powerful. I spent the next few days training my magic control like we used to, something I almost have no time for after I assumed leadership of the Seven Shades. Even though my magic is sealed, eventually I managed to solidify my magic internally so that even if I cannot properly use magic outside, the magic inside my body is mainly untouched. So this is how he did it in the Sanctuary.

With my magic available to me again, I used it to enhance my hearing, allowing me to hear sounds even if they are far away and muffled by the walls. There are a lot of whispers and sounds so I need to specifically search for his voice… or the voice of anyone relevant among his minions… like the Seven Wraiths.

Eventually I found him… I found his voice… muffled but unmistakable.

"… Coordinate… 17623… I must… weave them… ike this… carefully… chase Thanatos… to Earth…"

I can't make out what he's saying due to how muffled it is but… he seems to want to chase that monster whom he named Thanatos.

"… Orbit… too far after tomorrow… must open portal... tomorrow." He seems to plan to leave tomorrow. I believe I must too.

When the next day comes, I broke through my cell and disposed of the undead guards through surprise attack, making sure they cannot alert the others… though it seems that I've been found out either way when I heard beeping sounds and many footsteps searching for me. With my enhanced hearing, I managed to avoid all chasers, be they the undead or the Reaper Squad. Sadly I still don't know where the exit is and thus I end up at the laboratory where Necromancer was yesterday.

There I saw an open portal, stable and not as big as the Black Rose, only the size of a regular door. I was about to enter it for a possible escape but I decided to look around his room before leaving. There are various corpses laying on the examination tables, all of which are in horrible conditions, no doubt part of his experiments into creating undead minions. There are vials of blood (probably including my own) and other unknown liquid vials lying in his tables. The papers on the desk have notes that are sadly written in a language I don't understand. I'd take them with me so I can have Eta decipher them but without my slime suit I have no pockets to store the—

Oh, it looks like he stored some of our slimes in his lab, within one of the bottles. But the amount is sadly not enough to form a suit but I took them anyway because they are still enough to form a sword. At least I found a small bag to store the papers and a few items that might be of interest, like these pieces of metal that I detect are stronger than mythril. I destroyed the rest, hoping it would hinder his plans even for a little bit.

Wearing nothing but a white robe and armed with a bottle's worth of slime, I jumped to the portal, passing through darkness and eventually a kaleidoscope of colors... and beheld as I enter an entirely new world… A world with extremely tall buildings which somewhat resembles the Don Jon Tower… A world that looked like it has went through an apocalypse judging from the lack of life and ruined buildings. What… is this world?

Author's Note:

Decided to have Alpha join him in Japan. I almost scrapped this chapter because at first I didn't know what she should do on Earth, what role she should play, considering she couldn't communicate in Japanese, at least for a little while… but then I remembered something about the Japan arc and… well, it fits together more than I thought.

borregodillon9: Great chapter as always

Answer: Thanks as always.

BetweenIandGirl: Shadow must be midway on earth

Answer: Maybe.

Guest: I wonder if Necromancer will bring the the Doomsday Cult to the isekai world to replace the Cult of Diablos with loyal followers after he inevitably destroys them. Or, if the Doomsday Cult turns out to be such a massive disappointment that he wipes them all out instead to show them what true villainy is.

Answer: You will see which one it is soon.

TheVirtualPug: Nishimura is so screwed. I don't think Shadow can make it in time.

Answer: Yeah probably.

Maxplayz21: i bench read this fanfiction less than a week while going to college and your work is so good that motivated me to continue rewrite my original story so keep up the good work

also do you have any tips to self motivation if so please tell.

Answer: Glad my work can inspire you to create. My tip for motivation is to enjoy other fics too. I enjoy other fictional works and thought to myself "I wanna make my own version!" That's how I ended up writing this fic. Also, everyone starts somewhere and learns on the way. Don't be discouraged when you didn't do as well as you'd hoped. You'll get there and neyond if you didn't give up.
