Sora walked out of the bathroom wearing a fluffy light blue robe and headed to her room. She and Yamato were going on a date for the first time after their second child was born.

"Baby, I don't think I can do this." She admitted after she leaned against the chest of drawers and stared at him.

"I understand what you mean." Yamato put his book aside and sat closer to her.

"Don't you think it's too soon as well?" She asked; tears forming in her eyes and blurring her vision.

"A little, yeah." He said, looking away for a moment. "But they will be alright."

"I know, but still…"

"Everything will be fine." He got even closer to her and ran his hands though her bare arms. "We deserve some time for ourselves."

"Yeah, you're right." She said eventually and sat down beside him, sighing deeply. "We would have to do it at some point."

"That's right. Our kids will be fine. Takeru and Kimi will take good care of them."

"I know they will." Sora looked at her husband and smiled. "Okay, let's do this."

Yamato failed to hide his smile when he saw how stunning his wife was, and honestly, he didn't want to. He whistled at her and that made her giggle.

"What's that for?"

"It's my way of saying you look hot."

"Is that so?"

"It is." He stopped behind her and started massaging her shoulders. "I thought you'd be used to it by now."

"I am. I just think sometimes it's nice to actually hear you say it."

"You look hot. Actually, you are hot."

"Thank you, baby. You are too." Sora closed her eyes and tilted her head to her left as his hand made its way up her shoulder to her neck.

"Thank you." He whispered and leaned down, kissing her neck briefly.

.

About half an hour later, the Takenouchi Ishida family left their apartment to go to Takeru's house. Aiko was wide awake, while Kouji was sleeping peacefully.

"Mommy, why can't we go with you?"

"Because mommy and daddy need to have some time alone too, sweetheart."

"You don't like us anymore?" She looked at her brother for a second.

"Of course we do." Yamato replied. "In fact, we love you."

"So you're not giving us to uncle Takeru and auntie Kimi?"

"Absolutely not. Where did you get that from?"

"That's how you abandon kids, isn't it?"

Both Sora and Yamato were surprised with their daughter's answer and exchanged looks.

"Where did you hear that?"

"I don't remember." The girl shrugged and leaned back on her seat.

"Well, either way we're not gonna abandon you and your brother. We're gonna pick you up tomorrow night."

"Are you going to travel?"

"No, not this time." Yamato said. "But we will very soon."

"With us?" Aiko's face lit up with happiness.

"Of course! We could never leave you. We know how much you love traveling."

"So what are you gonna do?"

Yamato couldn't help but smile at his daughter's long inquiry.

"Mommy and daddy are going to a restaurant and then…"

"To the movies." Sora said, though she was sure her blushing face didn't sound so convincing.

"What movie are you going to watch?"

"We don't know yet, sunshine." Yamato replied, and he could feel himself losing his temper. So he took a deep breath before continuing. "We'll decide when we get there."

"Daddy?"

"Yes?"

"Can we go to the movies together again?"

"Of course." A smile formed on his lips and he looked at Aiko through the rearview mirror. "We'll talk more about this later, okay?"

"Okay!" The girl replied excitedly and looked up towards Takeru's apartment when Yamato turned off the car.

Kouji remained sleeping even though he was picked up and carried to the Takaishi residence by his father. Aiko was still a little hyped; she kept on talking to her parents all the way up.

"What time are you gonna pick us up tomorrow?"

"In the evening, darling." Sora answered.

"That late?" Aiko complained when they entered Takeru's floor.

"It will arrive before you know it." She was assured by her mother. "In the meantime you'll get to spend time with your uncle, aunt and cousin."

"That's true."

"Here we are." Yamato said before he pressed the bell from the apartment.

Kimi answered the door after a couple of minutes with a smile.

"Good evening, everyone." She greeted happily. "I'm so glad to have you here."

"We're glad to be here too." Sora replied with a smile. "Thank you so much for taking care of us this weekend."

"Of course." She winked with a mischievous smile. "I totally understand parents need their moment alone too."

Both Sora and Yamato blushed heavily at their sister-in-law's comment, and she chuckled at that.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to embarrass you two."

"That's okay." The fashion designer assured her. "You're right, though. We need our moment alone too."

"So what are you doing?"

"We are going away for the weekend. We booked a reservation at an inn in a city nearby."

"That sounds nice." Takeru said when he joined them in the living room. "Kimi and I are always looking for cool places like this to go."

"That's right. We never heard about this one before, but we're definitely interested."

"We'll make sure to tell you all about it when we come back tomorrow night."

"That's great. I'm sure you'll appreciate your time away from the kids."

"I think so, but it hurts me to leave them here. We always travel with them."

"We've been there. The first time we left Kenichi to travel alone was hard. We almost didn't go."

"That's what I'm almost doing." Sora confessed. "I'm feeling incredibly bad over it."

Yamato placed a hand on his wife's shoulder and squeezed it lightly, to reassure her it was alright to feel that way.

"It will get easier with time, trust me." Kimi said. "I'm sure Aiko and Kouji want you to have fun."

"I agree. They are already having a lot of fun with Kenichi."

"We should go." The astronaut said and helped Sora to stand up. "We don't want to miss the check in time."

"We can't thank you enough for taking care of them for us this weekend." She said with a warm smile.

"No need to thank us. It's our pleasure, really."

"That's right. Enjoy this romantic weekend alone."

"Thank you."

They all said goodbye and Sora and Yamato made their way downstairs.

"Baby, do you think we will make it to the hotel in time for the check-in?"

"We will." Yamato assured his wife. "Because we're going straight to there."

"What?! But I didn't even pack." Sora said nervously. "And we're just gonna arrive there in these outfits?"

"That's right." He confirmed. "We're having a romantic dinner when we arrive. Everything's settled, don't worry."

"How can I not worry? I was caught by surprise."

"I'm sorry." He looked at her briefly. "I know how you feel about surprises sometimes and not knowing about things, but everything is under control."

"Alright then."

.

Sora was in absolute shock when she and Yamato arrived at their destination. The façade was stunning, and she could tell the inside would be too.

"Baby…" She held Yamato's arm gently. "How much did you pay for this trip?"

"Does it matter? I want to spend a nice weekend alone with my wife."

"That's fair." She conceded and reached for his hand. "I want to spend a nice weekend with my husband too."

"So let's do it." He gave her a smile and they walked inside the inn.

While Sora was fixing up her make-up and dress, Yamato said he was going downstairs to do something. When he came back, she was sitting on the edge of the bed putting her earrings on.

"Looks like I arrived just in time." He smiled widely when his blue eyes landed on her and looked at her up and down.

"These are beautiful flowers." She stated as she stood up and walked to him.

"Not as beautiful as you."

"How charming." She grabbed the bouquet and smelled the flowers. "But there isn't a vase where I can put them. They will die."

"Damn, I should have thought about that before buying them."

"That's okay. I still love them." She stood on her toes and kissed him on the lips. "Thank you."

"You're welcome."

"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you're trying to get me to bed." She said suggestively.

"Maybe I am." He replied in the same tone and slid his hands to her hips. "Is that a problem?"

"Well, I guess now it would." Sora ran her hands through his arms, staring into his eyes. "But later tonight I may have a different answer."

"I'm very happy to know that." Yamato gave her a wide smile. "So let's go have dinner. I'm dying to eat."

"You and your ambiguous sentences."

"Excuse me?" He pretended to be offended. "I don't have ambiguous sentences."

"Oh you don't?"

"No, I don't."

"Okay then, if you say so."

"Let's just go to dinner, okay?"

"Alright, if you have no arguments anymore." Sora kept on teasing him.

"Oh I do have them. I'm just waiting for the perfect opportunity to use them."

"And when will that be?"

"Later." Yamato kissed her neck and placed his arm around her waist and they went to the restaurant.

.

The restaurant of the hotel wasn't that big, but it was still fancy and nice. Due to the time, there weren't many people there, to Yamato's happiness, as he wanted some privacy.

"You can have anything you want."

"Baby…"

"I know what you are going to say." He said calmly. "And my answer is still the same. I want to spend a nice weekend with my wife."

"Okay, I'll try not to worry about things."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome." Sora checked the menu. "I think I'm going for pasta with white sauce and shrimp."

"That's a good choice. I'm almost joining you." He kept going through the menu.

"I don't think you will regret it, but…"

"But what?"

"If you order the same I won't get to try your dish."

Yamato couldn't help but laugh.

"It wasn't supposed to be funny." Sora protested, but she was having fun with the situation too."

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to laugh and be inconsiderate of your feelings."

"You weren't, don't worry about it." She assured him.

"Okay then."

.

It was a chilly night, so they decided to stay in their room and enjoy each other's company.

"Do you think the kids are giving Takeru and Kimi too much trouble?" Sora asked when she left the bathroom, wearing silk red pajamas.

"I don't think so." Yamato replied, without taking his eyes away from her. "If anything, they are enjoying having them there."

"You may be right." She sat on the bed and sighed deeply. "Should we…?"

"I know what you are going to say." He cut her off gently and rubbed her arms. "And my answer is no. I don't want you to think I don't care about them. I just think it's important for us to have some time alone too."

"I know, and I agree with you. I just…" She bit her lower lip and looked at him. "Okay, I'll stop."

"Hey." He said softly and grabbed her hand. "Don't feel bad for being worried about our children. I think it's sweet and definitely something you'd do."

"Well, you're not any different than me. When Aiko was born, you couldn't be away from her for five minutes."

"That's true. That was such a nice time." Yamato reminisced it with tears in his eyes.

"You're such a wonderful father." Sora said tenderly and reached for his hand, holding it within hers. "I couldn't have asked for a better one. And for a better partner."

"Awww, thank you. It makes me so happy to hear that." He looked into her beautiful cinnamon eyes. "I can say the same about you. You're the most wonderful and amazing wife and mother. I'm so glad you had the courage to confess your feelings to me over two decades ago."

"I am too." She smiled warmly at him. "It wasn't easy. I was absolutely freaking out when I was outside the arena."

"I don't blame you. I would be freaking out myself if I was the one to confess."

"In that case we'd be married to other people. How would you feel about that?"

"I have to admit I don't feel so good. The idea of you being married to another guy is insufferable. He would have to be a super great guy."

"Of course. I wouldn't accept anyone as my husband."

"Should I be flattered?"

"I think you should, yes." Sora confirmed with a nod. "I share the same opinion as you. I wouldn't want to see you married to another woman."

"Well…" Yamato sat up and looked straight into her cinnamon eyes. "Lucky for us, we don't have to picture any what-ifs."

"You're right." She smiled at him briefly. "Thank you for doing this."

"You're welcome." He leaned down and pressed his lips against hers for a few seconds. "Happy Valentine's day."

"Happy Valentine's day, baby. On this day, many years ago, I said 'I love you' for the first time."

"Oh that's right. In fact, I was the one to say it first."

"Oh yeah, when you were tap dancing." Sora couldn't help but giggle for a moment.

"Well, I admit I could go without it now, but I absolutely don't regret saying 'I love you' at the time."

"I think tap dancing made everything even more special. I wouldn't want to change that."

"Oh really? I thought you'd prefer these things to happen in private."

"And I do." She confirmed. "As do you. But it's good to hear that in these situations too."

"You're welcome." Yamato stuck out his tongue at her. Then he leaned towards her and kissed her on the cheek. "I love you."

"I love you too, baby." She cupped his face and kissed him on the lips briefly. "All these years with you have been amazing."

"Likewise."

"Your ability with words impresses me sometimes."

"What? You don't complain when I act romantically."

"That's right, I didn't. But it's fun teasing you and see your reaction."

"Is that so?" He asked playfully and wrapped his arms around her, gently laying her down on the bed. "I hope you're ready to face the consequences."

"I think I am." Sora replied as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "So bring it on."

"Alright then." Yamato said and then slid his hand under her silk red top and outlined the contour of her breasts, while his other one rested on her cheek.

They looked into each other's eyes for some seconds.

"Is that how you plan to bring it on?"

"You have a problem with that?"

"Absolutely not. In fact, you are kind of slow if you ask me."

"Slow? I better change that then."

"I think so." She replied and then parted her lips, ready to take him in, in a deep and passionate kiss.
