Everyone woke up not long ago. Megumi is holding Kugisaki's hand, rubbing the top of it with his thumb. Maki and Yuta are sitting together and everyone else is scattered in the room.
"So, the plan is to have Yuki assimilate?" Megumi asks.
"Yeah, that's my plan so far." Satoru says holding Niko. He hasn't let go of him since he came back.
"What about Yuki? How does she feel about this?" Yuji asks.
"She's the one who came up with the idea." Satoru says.
"Huh?!" Choso says.
"Why?" Yuta asks.
"Because she's pretty much the only one who can. She knows this, and she wants to help. At least, that's what she told me." Satoru explains.
Megumi nods, "alright. I'll change the rules then it's back to Jujutsu high." He looks to Kugisaki then to the window, "Kogane!"
"Kogane!" Kogane says in response, flying in quickly.
"I want to do a rule change." Megumi says.
"Very well!" Kogane says loyally.
"I want to make a change saying the merger can be activated if Yuki Tsukumo agrees to assimilate in all other players place." Megumi says.
Nicely done. If he tries to change it to swapping everyone with Yuki, Kogane may not accept it. But if she goes in their place willingly, like an exception, he may accept it as a new rule.
"New rule accepted! I shall alert everyone now!" Kogane says flying off.
Suddenly, all of our Koganes barge in and start announcing the new rule.
"Attention! A player has added a new rule to the culling games!!" Everyone's Kogane announces.
"Ugh, fuck off!" I yell. I hate Kogane.
The Kogane's announce the new rule and disappear. Satoru smirks. "Let's head back to Jujutsu high and get this done. Then we can finally rest."
I doesn't take us long to drive back to Jujutsu High. We pass the rubble of the ruined city as we drive and I sigh sadly. All of this because of Kenjaku. All the death, the trauma, the destruction because of one man. It's disgusting. But he's gone now. For good. I don't know what will happen to the rest of the players in the culling games after this is over, but the worst culprits are gone. We can rest a little easier.
Satoru grabs my hand and smiles at me gently. I lean over and kiss him on his cheek and do the same with Niko. Megumi got a ride in another car with Kugisaki. When we arrive she helps him out of the car and we head to a classroom where Yuki is waiting. It looks like this room hasn't been used in years. Perfect to hide Yuki in.
She smiles and walks over to Choso and hugs him. He smiles sadly as they let go of each other. She walks over to Yuji and ruffles his hair. He smirks and swats her hand away playfully. I smile sadly, knowing she is saying goodbye to them.
"Are you sure about this sister?" Choso asks.
"I am." She says confidently, "it's about time I step up I think."
He nods and hugs her again.
Yuki walks over to Yuji and smiles, "You did good little brother. Even if you look as ugly as Sukuna now."
"Shut up." He says smirking, then frowning, "to be honest, I didn't really know you were my sister. But... I wish you didn't have to go." He says.
Yuki sighs and places a hand on his shoulder, "I know, but how about you just keep a promise for me?" She asks.
"Sure." He says.
"Take care of our big brother. He needs you." She says.
He nods, "I will."
She hugs him for a minute, savoring the moment with her little brother. When she separates, she looks to Megumi and nods.
"I'm ready." She says.
Megumi nods to her and activates the merger. Yuki falls to her knees and acts similarly to Yuji when he was possessed by Sukuna. She breathes heavily for a minute, and then relaxes. She stands and her eyes look different. More calm and mature. It worked. We did it.
"Good work. While I know this was not an easy road to follow, I'm proud you were able to succeed." She says.
She looks to Yuji and smirks, "and I see you've taken a new form as well. I assume you know your responsibility as the wielder of Sukuna's power?" She asks.
Yuji sighs tiredly and shakes his head, "not really. I honestly haven't really processed what this all means yet. It's all still a blur." He says exhausted.
Tengen nods once, "yes, well I expect your Sensei's will guide you and your peers through this next phase. We must hold each other up, ans rebuild what was lost. Honor those we lost." She says.
"We will." I say.
"Good. Now, allow me to go assess the damage to Jujutsu High and tend to the broken barriers. Rest, take some time to grieve, cope with the past weeks." She says turning to Satoru, "and you. You are the head of Jujutsu society now. Handle it with care will you?" She says.
"Of course. Jujutsu Sorcerers will keep the peace, and be wise in their judgements. It won't be like that crap from before." He says bitterly.
"And I trust your judgment, Honored One." She says.
She nods to everyone as she leaves. We all bow in respect as she walks out of the room. The room is silent for a minute after she leaves. It's weird. Everything is over. A few loose ends maybe as far as the reincarnated sorcerers, and the rebuilding of course. Government involvement is inevitable as well too, but we can handle all that. If we can take Sukuna, we can tackle this.
We all head back to our rooms and apartments slowly. A few stay behind, a few head outside to check everything out. Satoru and I head back to our apartment and am greeted by Cat. We put Niko to bed, he fell asleep on the walk over.
Cat begs for food and I give him some in his bowl. We both sit on the couch in silence. We don't really know what to do with ourselves.
"So." I say.
"What now?" He asks.
I chuckle, "well, I guess we just live our lives."
He smirks, "yeah. Weird. We get to just...live."
I smile and climb in his lap, "how do you feel Mr.Gojo?"
"Free." He says smiling.
I kiss him hard on the lips, happy we can finally relax for the first time in our lives.
"I love you so much Naomi Gojo." He says.
"I love you more Satoru Gojo." He says.
Finally we can rest. Our family is safe. We've lost so many, but their deaths were not in vain. We will live for them. People will know their names. We will never forget their sacrifice.
We got Megumi back. We lost Tsumiki, and I will never recover from that. But Satoru and I have each other, and Megumi has us. We'll always rely on each other, no matter what. It's what family is for.
And, our little boy has a world where he can grow up normally if he chooses. We aren't going anywhere anytime soon. He can just be a normal kid, with a normal life. We'll get to watch him grow up, and for that I'm thankful.
Moving on is going to be tough. There's a lot to do still. Not to mention a lot to deal with mentally. But we have each other. We'll help one another through this. We are a family.
And that is Our Strength.
———
Hey everyone!
So that's the end of this story. It was a bit long, but I hope it was worth it in the end. Thank you so much for reading and supporting it. It means a lot to me.
It's sad to close this story up after writing it for so long. I love these characters and even my OC's I made. I had a lot of fun writing this, and I hope you had fun reading it. But with that being said, I'll be starting a sequel, sort of an Epilogue, called Our Strength. It's going to be about the recovery of the Culling Games, and more like a slice of Kaisen type fic. But it continues directly after this one. That's in the works starting today and I will be updating that one as frequently as I do this one. So if you like this story, don't worry, it isn't ending yet. Just starting a new book cause this one was getting long lol.
Thanks again for your support, it means a lot to me. I'll be seeing you guys soon.
