AN: Here's chapter 7. In this chapter, we're finally at camp. It also really shows the bond of Grover and Percy. The reason why Grover isn't such a mess this time is because he didn't fail. Yeah, Chiron was the one who brought them to camp, but no one died and Grover still technically protected Percy by distracting the Minotaur. I hope you enjoy.

I don't own Percy Jackson and the Olympians. All credit goes to Rick Riordan.

Chapter 7: G-man Is Best Man

When I woke back up, the girl was gone. I looked around to see I was sitting in a deck chair on a huge porch. In the distance, green hills dotted the landscape. The breeze carried with it the smell of strawberries.

I looked to my side to see a tall drink of iced apple juice. I reached out for it but I was so weak that I almost dropped the glass when my fingers curled around it.

"Careful,"

I looked to the source to see Grover leaning on the railing. He was wearing blue jeans, Converse hi-tops, and a bright orange shirt that had the words, 'CAMP HALF-BLOOD' written on it. He looked like one of the kids from my dream. Under his arm, he cradled a large shoe box.

"You saved my life," Grover said. "As well as Chiron's. The least I could do was bring this back for you."

He placed the shoe box on my lap and opened it to reveal a black-and-white bull horn, the base looked jagged from being snapped off.

"The Minotaur." I said.

"Yeah. Hey Percy, I wanted to talk to you about something." Grover nervously said.

"Shoot."

"Only a few people know about this. It's just me, Chiron, Mr. D, and some of the Apollo kids who healed you. We all promise not to tell anyone in case you don't want to." Grover assured.

"Okay, just get to the point."

"Well, when we were healing you, we found out your blood is black. We thought you were just covered in mud or dust, but we took a blood sample and confirmed it. Percy, your blood is black." Grover told me.

I of course knew this. I knew I had blood that looked like it could be a substitute for petroleum.

"Judging by your emotions of not being shocked, I would guess you already knew this." Grover deduced.

I looked down. Now Grover knew I was a freak, I mean, more than I was before.

"Hey, don't feel ashamed. You can't exactly control what your blood looks like." Grover said.

"But, I'm guessing even by half-blood standards, everyone has red blood. I'm a freak Grover, I don't belong. Even in the world of myths, I AM ALONE." My voice increased with every word until I was nearly shouting at the end.

I thought Grover would have left, or stood awkwardly in silence after my rant. He was never really good with people. But what he did shocked me. He came up and hugged me.

"Percy, never think like that. You're not alone. I will always be your best friend and friends stick by each other no matter what." He consoled me.

A watery smile formed on my face. "Since when did you get good at talking to people, G-man? Now, it's almost like you could read my emotions." I teased.

"Funny. Satyrs can read emotions, but I didn't read yours. You're just an open book for anyone to read." He retorted.

He stood back up, then took the glass on the table. "Drink up, it'll help you feel better."

I didn't know how apple juice could make me feel better, but I took a sip.

It wasn't apple juice. A flood of warmth rushed through my system. It tasted like my mom's homemade blue chocolate-chip cookies fresh out of the oven with the chocolate still melted. It has been so long since I tasted it that I didn't realize I drank the entire glass.

"How did it taste?" Grover asked.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I should have let you taste it." I apologized.

"No no no." Grover said. "I was just wondering."

"Chocolate-chip cookies." I replied. "My mom's. Homemade."

I remembered my dream about how my mom is probably dead. Grover must have sensed my emotions.

"Oh" He said. "How do you feel?"

"Like I could throw Nancy 20 yards" I responded.

"Good." He set the empty glass down. "I don't think you can drink anymore of that."

"What do you mean? " I asked.

"I mean you will burn up, like turn to ash, if you drink more of that. It's nectar, the drink of the gods." He explained.

He held his hand out. "Come on, you should go meet Chiron and Mr. D. Let them know you're awake."

He helped me up. I guess I didn't learn my lesson with the glass because I would've fallen face first on the hard wood if not for Grover.

"Steady. You haven't completely healed yet." He said.

The porch wrapped around the Big House.

As we turned the corner, I was met with the view from my dream. It looked even more breathtaking in person.

Down the end of the porch, two old men were sitting across from each other at a card table. The blonde who spoon-fed me was leaning on the wall next to them.

The man facing me was a pudgy man. He had a red nose and large watery eyes. It looked like he was drunk. I tried to repress my shudders. He reminded me of my step father. His hair was so black it looked almost purple.

"That's Mr. D." Grover murmured. "He's the camp director. Be polite. The girl is Annabeth Chase. She took care of you while you were unconscious. She's just a camper, but has been here longer than almost anybody here. And you already met Chiron."

Chiron must have heard Grover– radar-ears I swear– and turned to look at us.

"Ah, Percy." Chiron said. "You're awake. Great, Now we have four for pinochle."

The other man looked at me with his bloodshot eyes. "Oh I suppose I should say it. Welcome to Camp Half-blood. Now don't expect me to be glad you're here."

"Uh, thanks." I replied.

"Annabeth?" Chiron called.

The girl looked up from her position and walked up to us.

"Percy, Annabeth here helped nurse you back to health. Annabeth, would you be so kind as to check on Percy's bunk? We will put her in Cabin 11 for now."

The girl just looked me up and down like she was thinking of the best way to take me down in a fight. She finally opened her mouth, and I thought she would say something like, "Great job, you beat the Minotaur" or "Congratulations, you healed perfectly." Instead, she said, "You drool in your sleep."

Then she ran away.

AN: There's the chapter. There isn't really anything I will say here so here's a haiku I made about this chapter.
G-man is best man,
When my black blood is revealed,
He is there for me.
