"She's asleep." Bella's leaning in my doorway.

"Finally." Tylenol has done its job. "I think I'm going to let her stay in here so I can keep an eye on her temperature."

I lay Masie on her side.

She wiggles before settling.

It's one in the morning.

Masie woke screaming.

And burning up again.

"You can join us," I tell her, motioning to the spare spot on the other side of our daughter. "I don't bite."

"Would that be weird?"

"Only if you think it is," I answer honestly.

Not weird for me.

She takes a step. "I trust you."
