I had this rattling around in my head since I saw the trailer. I wasn't expecting Until Dawn to get a remaster. Let's hope it lives up to expectations. SEE NOTES AT THE END.

"Hello, friends and fans," said Josh. "I am super excited to welcome all my pals back to the annual Blackwood winter getaway."

The bus pulled away and Sam started walking up the path.

Matt carried his and Emily's luggage as they crossed the covered bridge. They both stumbled back with yells when Mike dropped down from the roof. Mike laughed.

"Nice one," said Matt.

Jessica picked up some snow and rolled it in her hands. "You can't hide from me, Michael."

"Oh, you're going down," said Mike from behind a tree.

Jessica threw a snowball at Mike as he ran and hit him.

Sam put her hands on her hips and looked at the view of the mountains and setting sun.

"It means so much to me that we're all still here together."

Ashley and Emily moved an injured Mike to the sofa in front of the fireplace.

/ Fight the break of dawn . . . /

Mike lit the fireplace and sat next to Jessica.

"I feel like someone's watching us," Jessica said.

"There's no one out there," Mike said with a laugh.

A figure stood in the trees outside the cabin with a butcher's knife in hand.

/ Come tomorrow . . . /

"Let's make this one trip we will never forget."

/ Tomorrow I'll be . . . /

Mike and Jessica were making out on the sofa when a window shattered, startling them.

Josh mimed shooting himself in the head and his brains being blown out.

/ Gone . . . /

Mike, half dressed, ran through the snow with an unlit lantern.

Emily pounded frantically on a door.

Sam sat up in the oversized bathtub. "Mike? Emily?"

Chris and Ashley swept their flashlights across tiled walls with meat hooks all around. A door slammed behind them, causing Ashley to scream.

Sam, Mike, Ashley, and Emily stood around a storm grate.

"I was down there," said Mike.

Mike walked next to the wolf in a dark tunnel, a shotgun in his hands.

"You were?" asked Sam.

"It was horrible," he told her.

/ Tomorrow I'll be gone . . . /

Something moved and he fired the shotgun at it.

Mike shot a lock off a gate and kicked it open.

"I don't want to make hasty decisions that get everyone killed," Emily said.

Chris sat at a table and held a pistol in his hands. He pointed it as Ashley, who was strapped to a chair across from him.

"No!" she begged him.

Emily screamed as she fell through a window.

"No!" Matt hung from a beam, unable to do anything to help her.

"We should stay put right here until dawn," said Sam.

Jessica was being dragged into the mine by something. She grabbed futilely at the snow as Mike ran after her.

"Jessica!"

Ashley and Josh were tied up with a spinning saw blade in front of them on a track. Chris stood on the other side of some metal fencing looking at pictures of Ashley and Josh.

"You can't let me die!" sobbed Ashley.

/ Tomorrow I'll be gone . . . /

Chris pulled the lever.

/ Gone . . . /

Emily ran through the mine with a flare in her hand.

Matt whipped around, hearing something behind him.

/ Gone . . . /

Ashley back away.

Emily dangled upside down, her foot cough in a cable.

/ Gone . . . /

Chris held the gun under his jaw.

Jessica stumbled forward, looking over her shoulder in fear.

Mike pressed himself against a cave wall and turned his head away.

Sam staggered back, only wearing a towel. She let out a scream.

Blood splattered across Josh's face.

A large hand came out of the dark and tried to grab Emily. She let out a scream into the blackness.

A gasp filled the car's interior. Gray eyes lined in aqua were reflected in the rearview mirror. The car's hazard lights ticked rhythmically. The cellphone in the sitting in the passenger seat lit up and showed a notification. The hand that picked it up was decorated in butterfly rings.

UNCOVER THE MYSTERIES. SAVE THEM ALL.

"Round two. You got this, dreamer," I said.

October 2024

Did I just transcribe the trailer just to be able to put a quick paragraph and a half to tease the dreamer's return? Yes. Yes, I did. Hope to see you here.
