Author's Note: Hello, beautiful readers! Welcome to my second crossover with Spider-Man and the X-Men. While the first crossover is based on the two 90's animated series, I wanted to do something different for this one. At first, I was going to use X-Men: Evolution and combine it with whatever I came up with for Spidey. But then… I thought about it some more, and I changed some things. Let's just say this. On the X-Men side of things, this is heavily inspired by Evolution, but it's not actually Evolution, if you get what I'm trying to say here. Basically, this is my own created universe. This is a combination of Evolution, the 90's series, comics, and some of the movies.
As for Spider-Man, the same thing applies. Though, I will say the most obvious influence that can be seen for Spidey in this fic is The Spectacular Spider-Man show. Additionally, this fanfic is inspired by other forms of media. It should be fun for me to tackle. By the way, I will say this immediately, since I know how intense shipping can get. Even if I think I have somewhat of an idea on who I'm going to ship Spidey with, I also must clarify that nothing is set in stone. This is my way of saying I kinda have no idea what's going to happen, lol. We'll discuss it more at the end of this chapter. Anyway, I'm talking too much, so let's go ahead and get this party started!

Chapter 1: Welcome To Midtown
BGM: Simple Minds – Don't You (Forget About Me)
Hey, everyone. I'm Peter Parker, your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. I hope you don't mind me narrating for a few moments. Don't worry, I'll try to make this quick so we can get right into the story. Let's talk about new experiences, shall we? It can be fun to experience new things in life, but it's natural to feel a little scared due to your unfamiliarity with everything. This is how I feel right now, to be honest. I just got transferred to Midtown High School, and well… I'll say that being the new kid is definitely not for the faint of heart. Most people already have their circle of friends, which can make it tough for somebody like me to build any meaningful friendships.
If my Uncle Ben were still here, he would try to point out the silver lining in all of this. I'll do my best to always remain hopeful, because I know it's what he would want me to do.
Queens, New York
This is a brand-new day for Peter Parker. What makes today different, you may ask? Well, he just got transferred to Midtown High School, and what this specifically means is this will be his first day of school. After a long night of patrol, he was in a deep sleep, but this would sadly be interrupted by his alarm clock.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
Upon hearing his alarm clock constantly beep, Peter's eyes started to flutter, and a loud groan could be heard coming from him. "Five more minutes…" Peter told himself, even though he knew this statement would ultimately mean nothing. Reaching for his alarm clock, he turned it off and sat up in his bed, proceeding to stretch and yawn.
BGM: Tears For Fears – Everybody Wants To Rule The World
"Okay, Peter. Time to get ready for your first day at your new school." he said, before getting out of his bed and doing the usual things a person did to get ready. Brushing his teeth, washing his face, putting on some clothes, ya know, the typical stuff. Once that was done, he looked at a picture of Uncle Ben that was on his nightstand. With a small smile, Peter managed to say, "Morning, Uncle Ben."
Afterwards, he left his room and went downstairs. Though, just as he was about to enter the kitchen, he stopped when he saw his Aunt May looking at a ton of mail. A sigh escaped her lips, mainly due to the fact that the mail was nothing but bills, with some of them being overdue.
Peter wasn't a dummy. He knew what that look on Aunt May's face meant all too well. For the Parkers, they've never had the best financial situation, but things have been extra tough ever since Uncle Ben's death. Even with Peter getting some money from The Daily Bugle by taking pictures of Spider-Man, he can only do so much with the amount he's currently getting paid.
"Aunt May, I'm gonna find a way to help you more. That's a promise." Peter thought to himself, before actually walking into the kitchen. "Good morning, Aunt May. I swear, it's like you're getting more beautiful with each passing day!" he exclaimed, accidentally rhyming while also trying to lighten the mood with his compliment as he kissed her on the cheek.
Aunt May had to laugh at Peter's comment. "Good morning to you too, Peter." she replied sweetly, while going on to hand Peter his lunch bag. "Breakfast should be done in a minute. I just got sidetracked with all the mail and-"
BGM: Huey Lewis & The News – The Power of Love
Before Aunt May could finish, Peter noticed something odd from the corner of his eye. When he fully turned around and looked outside the window, he saw the school bus was already driving off. "Oh crap!" Peter shouted, going on to add, "Don't worry about breakfast, Aunt May! I gotta catch the bus! Love you, bye!" Peter managed to say all of this in one breath while zooming out the door. Aunt May wasn't even able to get an extra word in, but she did sigh once more.
"Love you too." she replied, watching her nephew try to catch the bus.
Now being outside, Peter was running after the bus, constantly waving his hand to get the bus driver's attention. "HEY! STOP THE BUS!" Unfortunately, Peter's words would fall on deaf ears, as the bus continued to drive off.
Peter pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration, realizing it was hopeless to get the bus to stop. Luckily for him, there is another way he can get to school on time. "Yep, this is the perfect way to start off your new journey." Peter's words had obvious sarcasm. "I swear, if I didn't have Spider powers, I'd be outta luck right now." he stated. Next, he would find a safe place to change into his Spider-Man costume, and when he was finished, he started to web-swing all the way to Midtown High School.
Midtown High School
BGM: Persona 3 Reload – Want To Be Close
It took some speedy web-swinging, but Peter was able to make it to Midtown High on time. For a moment, he was analyzing what he was walking into. To be specific, he was looking at the building, the students, and the overall vibes. "Seems normal enough, I guess." Peter said, pulling out his schedule. He knew his first class was biology, and it was located in room AF15. Though, there's only one problem.
He has absolutely no idea where room AF15 is.
Plus, bringing out his schedule is a dead giveaway that he's a complete noob, and this made him embarrassed. "Great, just great." Clearly, Peter didn't really feel like asking for help, because in a weird way, he feels like he'd be bothering someone. You know how that goes. Sure, he could try finding where the room is by himself, but that might not work out well.
So, deciding to swallow his pride, Peter tried to look for somebody that looked nice enough to help him out. Currently, it wasn't looking too good for him.
But then, his Parker Luck would give him a break for once.
"Need some help?"
Peter stopped dead in his tracks when he heard somebody speaking to him from behind. When he turned around to see who it was, his eyes momentarily widened. He saw a beautiful girl with long red hair and green eyes. Her attire consisted of a light lavender shirt with a small V-neck that exposed her navel. With this, she also wears tan cargos with pockets at the side, as well as brown open-toed sandals. She also has golden bracelets on both of her wrists, while having red lipstick.
To make sure things wouldn't get awkward, Peter knew he had to reply eventually. "Uh, yeah." Peter managed to say, pulling himself together. He did have a thing for redheads, that's for sure. "Sorry, I'm new here."
A small smile formed on the redhead's face. "I can tell." she replied, before adding, "Where are you headed?"
Peter would then show the girl his schedule. "I'm looking for room AF15. You know where it is?"
The redhead looked at Peter's schedule and nodded a bit. "Yup. It's actually my first class, so this pretty much works out. You can follow me so you won't get lost."
On the outside, Peter was playing it cool, but on the inside, he felt like doing some joyful backflips right about now. It's only his first day, and an extremely pretty girl was already helping him out. It can't get any better than this, right? "Thanks. You're helping me out big time." Peter told her, but then he thought about something else. "Oh, my name is Peter, by the way. Nice to meet you." he said, putting his hand out for a handshake.
The girl would shake Peter's hand and reveal her name. "I'm Jean. Nice to meet you too." After that, the two went on to have casual conversation as they walked together to room AF15. "So, Peter, what brings you to Midtown High?"
Peter thought about what to say here. He knows the real reason why he's at Midtown High right now, but he's embarrassed to actually say it. This calls for some sugar coating!
"Just felt like I needed a change of scenery." replied Peter, intentionally being vague. "What about you? How long have you been going here?"
"I've been going here ever since I was a freshman," confirmed Jean. "I'm a junior now."
"Nice. I'm a junior too." Peter added, pausing for a moment before asking, "Now, here's the real question. Do you like this place?"
Jean shrugged. "Can't say I dislike it, so that counts for something, right?" she joked, as she and Peter laughed a bit. "But in all honesty, I think high school is what you make it. At least… that's how I try to look at it anyway." Jean explained. "Not to mention it helps having friends to talk to."
"Right… Friends." Peter thought to himself, not wanting to say anything out loud since he didn't want to make it seem like he didn't have any friends. He does have friends, but to his knowledge, they don't go to this school.
Eventually, Jean and Peter would make it to room AF15. "Thanks again, Jean. Couldn't have found this class without you."
Jean revealed a smile. "No problem. If you ever get lost again, feel free to ask me for help." With that being done, Jean went on to take her seat that was somewhere in the middle, while Peter sat on the right. Some people in the class took note of Jean and Peter walking in together, and just like that, rumors started to spread, especially since they had no idea who Peter was. You know how high school works.
"Who's that guy? I've never seen him before."
"Is he new?"
"Dang, he's new and he's already walking with Jean? His game has gotta be on another level."
These were only a few of the whispers and comments being made, but all of that would come to a halt when the teacher started his class. On the board, the teacher's name was written as Mr. McCoy. As you would expect, this is no one other than Hank McCoy, who appears to be human.
"Good morning, class." Hank told them all. "I've been informed that we have a new student joining us today." He would glance at Peter, as it didn't take long for him to figure out he was the new student. "Would you like to introduce yourself?"
"Oh, uh, sure." Peter said a bit awkwardly, before standing up. "Hi, everyone. I'm Peter Parker. Nice to meet you guys." He sat back down after he introduced himself, allowing for Hank to continue his class.
"Hello, Peter. Welcome to Midtown High. I'm Mr. McCoy." Hank informed him, moving on to look at the rest of the students in the class so he could take attendance. When he was finished, he decided to move on with his lesson. "I advise for everyone to take all the notes they can."
RING!
When the bell rang, it signaled that it was the end of class. All the students started getting up, and Hank began to tell them some news. "Review all of the materials we covered today, class. There will be a big test coming up within the next few weeks, so make sure you're studying hard." As this was said, Peter was about to exit the classroom, but was stopped when Hank wanted to get his attention.
"Mister Parker!" Hank called, making Peter turn around. "Mind if I speak with you?"
"I'm not in trouble, am I?" Peter asked, but by the tone of his voice, he showed he wasn't serious.
"Oh no, no. Quite the contrary, actually." Hank assured him. "I just wanted to inform you that you were excellent in class today. I can tell you really know your stuff."
Peter grinned at the compliment. "Thank you. Science is definitely my best subject."
Hank nodded in agreeance. "Well, in that case, keep up the good work. With that brain of yours, you're bound to go places."
Upon hearing this, Peter gave a nod of his own, before walking out of the classroom and looking at his schedule again. He hoped Jean could show him around again, but by the looks of it, she was already long gone. "Welp," Peter said, as he sighed a bit and started talking to himself. "Okay, Pete. Looks like you're on your own for-"
"Yo, new guy!"
BGM: TLC – Creep (Instrumental)
Peter looked up when he heard the 'new guy' nickname, because he knew somebody had to be talking to him. However, that wasn't the only reason why he looked up. For some strange reason, his Spider-Sense started tingling, and it caused him to form a suspicious look on his face.
In the same breath, the person who called for Peter also formed a suspicious look of his own.
Weird. Very weird.
This person was a teenage boy with a darker complexion. He had a mid-fade haircut, slender build, brown eyes, while wearing a black and red hoodie to go with black jeans. For his footwear, he's wearing the iconic Chicago Air Jordan 1's.
"Who are you?" Peter questioned, raising an eyebrow as he tried to figure out why his Spider-Sense was warning him about this dude.
"Miles." he replied, while adding, "Miles Morales, to be exact. We just had biology class together."
Peter nodded, remembering Miles' face. "Ohhh, right, right."
Miles then put out his hand for a handshake. "Wanted to introduce myself to you, because I know all too well how hard it can get being the new kid. I transferred from Brooklyn Visions to Midtown last year."
Peter shook Miles' hand, but as he heard about Miles' own transfer story, it caused Peter to tilt his head and show a look of surprise. "Brooklyn Visions? That's one of the top schools in New York."
"Yup!" Miles exclaimed. "And that's exactly why I left in the first place."
"I am so confused right now." Peter admitted, scratching the back of his head.
"Well basically, I felt like Brooklyn Visions was a little too… serious?" Miles paused, wondering if he was explaining this well enough. "Like, I get that it's supposed to be serious, but I wanted a more normal high school experience, if you get what I mean." This was the short answer Miles gave. There are other factors, but he pretty much simplified the explanation. "But enough about me, man. We gotta talk about you, especially since you were walking with Jean." he said, having a smirk on his face.
"Especially since I was walking with Jean?" Peter repeated, not knowing where this was going.
"Yeah, bro!" Miles stated. "Jean is one of the most popular girls at this school. You're the new kid on the block that literally showed up today and you're already walking with her. That's increasing your rep around here."
Rep. Rumors. Cliques. Popularity. Good ol' high school. It never, ever changes.
"You're making it bigger than what it really is. Jean was only trying to help me find Mr. McCoy's class." Peter pointed out.
"Sure, that might be the actual reason, but this is high school! Rumors are gonna spread, regardless of if you like it or not." Miles was speaking the truth here, and it caused Peter to shake his head. "But don't worry, I'm here to help. I can give you a list of some of the most popular girls in school so you can at least be aware of what you're getting yourself into."
Peter looked like he wanted to say something in return, but Miles was already naming all the girls he could think of. There was no escape! "Okay, so you already met Jean. Smart girl, plays sports, obviously hot. Then there's Rogue, the southern belle from Mississippi. She's nice, but tends to keep to herself sometimes. She's also hot."
Miles would keep going, and eventually, Peter found himself taking all this information in.
"Next, you got Ororo. She seems to be more serious than the others, but she's pretty chill once you get to know her. Goddess-like beauty. Then you have Kitty. Probably the most cheerful of the bunch. Like everyone else, she's hot too. You also got-"
"I advise for you two to stop talking about girls and get to class."
This was the voice of Assistant Principal Darkhölme, a tall woman with short black hair who wore a grey buttoned up blouse that was accompanied by a matching skirt with mundane brown tights, a lilac shirt, and a pair of white earrings. She also wears glasses.
Upon seeing Principal Darkhölme, Miles gulped a bit. He knew better than to mess with her. "Yes, Ms. Darkhölme!" Miles replied, proceeding to whisper in Peter's ear. "We'll talk later. Hopefully, we'll have the same lunch period." he said, making his way to his next class.
With Miles gone, now it was just Principal Darkhölme and Peter. "You must be Peter Parker, correct?" she asked, her voice naturally being serious.
Peter gave her a confirming nod. "Yes, ma'am."
Principal Darkhölme placed her hands on her hips. Judging by his appearance, Peter seemed harmless enough, so she'll go easy on him for now. "Well, Mr. Parker, you have approximately 34 seconds and counting to make it to your next class. Hurry up."
Peter decided to take Principal Darkhölme's advice by not saying anything and simply try to search for his next class. Principal Darkhölme watched Peter as he walked away, letting the silence overtake the hallways.
Until somebody would break the silence.
"You were nicer than usual, Darkhölme!"
Darkhölme rolled her eyes, not even having to look to figure out who was talking to her. Remember, she's the assistant principal, but the head principal is no one other than…
"It's his first day, so I let him off easy, Stan." she replied, clearly not being in the mood.
Principal Lee could only laugh at Darkhölme's reasoning. "Alright, alright. I'll stop messing with ya. But don't forget, we're playing bingo at 12 in the teachers' lounge! Excelsior!" Principal Lee's signature enthusiasm was always a stark contrast to Darkhölme's serious nature. After Principal Lee said what he needed to say, he soon left, and Darkhölme could be seen closing her eyes while pinching the bridge of her nose in annoyance.
BGM: Marvel vs. Capcom 2 – Network (Unused) Extended
After Peter was out of Darkhölme's sight, he ended up getting lucky and found his next class. Literature. When he walked inside, he was taken back by who the teacher was. "Mr. McCoy? You teach literature too?"
Hank nodded, having a grin on his face. "Indeed. I'm passionate about both science and literature." he revealed, raising an index finger. "Also, you are slightly late."
"Sorry, I got lost trying to search for this class." Peter told him, as Hank started rubbing his chin. Since it was Peter's first day, Hank wouldn't make the situation a big deal.
"Very well." responded Hank, motioning for Peter to find his seat so he could continue with his lesson. Peter, who was trying to look for an open seat, ended up finding one right in the middle. Though, on his right side, he couldn't help but notice an extremely attractive girl with long auburn hair that had a white streak. She has green eyes, while wearing a predominantly green jacket with white stripes. Her pants also follow the same color pattern. Her jacket was unzipped, which revealed a black shirt. Around her neck, she wears a black choker with silver studs and matching bracelets on her wrists. Finally, she has black gloves, black boots, and light purple lipstick.
Peter has to say something to her, right? What will he possibly come up with?
"Ahem. Uh…" Peter said, clearing his throat. "Hi there. Hope I'm not invading your space." Mentally, he was disgusted with himself. "Seriously?! That's the best I can come up with?!" he thought.
The girl turned her head to Peter, looking at him up and down. She could tell he was kinda awkward, but he at least meant well. "You're okay, sugah. No need to worry." the girl assured him, having a southern accent that could bring any man to their knees.
"Oh, well that's good." Peter stated, feeling somewhat relieved while noticing Rogue's southern accent. It just… sounds right to him. "Still trying to figure out my way around here since I'm new. My name is Peter, if you wanna know."
"Rogue." she replied with her name, as Peter remembered hearing about her due to his conversation with Miles. He would've liked to have talked longer with her, but they couldn't talk long considering that Hank was in the middle of teaching his class. On the left side of Peter, there was a guy who took note of his presence. He has clean-cutbrown hair, and his eyes are hidden by his ruby quartz glasses. He usually wears a blue sweater over a pale-yellowshirt, while having tan pants with a brown belt and light brown shoes.
"Not gonna introduce me, Rogue?" the teenage boy joked in a whisper.
Rogue sighed, before saying in her own whisper, "Peter, this is Scott."
Peter looked at Scott, showing a smile. "Nice to meet you, dude. Those shades are sweet."
"Appreciate it." While Scott appreciated the compliment, his shades served as a constant reminder that it was the only thing keeping his powers in check.
After the trio introduced themselves, they went back to focusing on Hank's lesson.
So far, Peter's first day was going well. Hopefully, his usual Parker Luck doesn't come back with a vengeance.
Meanwhile, with Wolverine…
BGM: Johnny Cash - Hurt
The man known as Wolverine, AKA Logan, could be seen lying on his bed within his crappy apartment. Cracked beer bottles were scattered all over the floor, but this was rather common for him. While lying on his bed, he was holding a picture frame, and used this time to simply stare at it, letting the eeriness of silences control the vibes.
He placed his hand over the picture, as his expression turned somber.
"I know you're still out there somewhere."
END OF CHAPTER 1: WELCOME TO MIDTOWN
BGM: The Spectacular Spider-Man End Credits Music
Peter: Midtown High has actually been pretty cool so far.
Kitty: That's great and all, but can the author, like, give me some lines for the next chapter please?!
Storm: I would like to have some lines as well.
Miles: Don't worry, I'm sure you guys will get your wish.
Scott: Crap, we're out of time! We were supposed to explain the next chapter!
Rogue: Y'all are the worst narrators ever…
Next time on Broken Hearts!
Interactions
Jean: You don't wanna miss it!
Author's Note: There goes chapter 1, y'all! By the way, remember what I said about discussing the shipping in my first author's note? It's time to talk about it now, lol. So, here's what I came up with. I'm not really interested in this being a harem, at least not in the usual way. What I mean by this is Peter won't be dating 10 girls at the same time or anything like that. However, I looked at Spectacular Spider-Man, and we all know how good that show is. In total, Peter could be shipped with 4 women. Gwen, Liz, MJ, and Black Cat. He was never dating them at the same time, but their friendships/relationships were written pretty nicely.
Basically, this is what I'm trying to do with my fanfic. I will say that the current plan is to make the 4 women be Jean, Rogue, Storm, and Kitty. BUT, stick with me now, I am open to hearing who you guys would be willing to suggest. There will be somebody (Somebody meaning ONE person, lol) that Peter ends up with in the story, but I don't know who. That is why I'm giving y'all a list of X-Men/Mutant Women to choose from, and if a certain character seems to be a popular choice, then it's not out of the question for me to make some type of relationship happen. Also, even if your choice isn't ultimately chosen, I hope all of you will continue reading, since I believe this is going to be a very fun fanfic. Anyway, moving on with the list:
Jean Grey – Considering that I've never shipped Peter with Jean before, I will admit that I'm interested in keeping her in this 4 women thing.
Rogue – She's arguably my favorite X-Men character, but I am already shipping her with Peter in my Spider-Man & The X-Men: Dreams & Nightmares fanfic. Check it out whenever you guys get the chance.
Storm – I am very interested with keeping Storm, because in general, there's really not a lot of StormxSpidey fics out there. It would be something different.
Kitty – KittyxSpidey is a very popular ship. You can thank the Ultimate comics for that, but it truly was written well when they were together. This is another ship I haven't done.
Now, aside from the current 4, let's discuss other possibilities!
Scarlet Witch/Wanda – She needs no introduction. I suspect she will be a popular choice.
Emma Frost – She also needs no introduction.
X-23/Laura – This is going to spark some debates in the reviews, I can feel it.
Psylocke – Our favorite ninja.
Jubilee – Don't tell Sunspot!
Angelica Jones/Firestar – Can't forget about her.
Domino – Fun character.
Dazzler – A singing chapter would be guaranteed.
These are the additional options that I thought about, but if there's anybody I'm missing or someone I didn't suggest, then don't be afraid to let me know in the reviews. Remember, you guys are free to choose FOUR girls as long as they're related to the X-Men franchise in some capacity, so go as crazy as y'all can.
I think that mostly covers everything. As always, if you guys enjoyed this chapter, then give it a FOLLOW AND A FAVORITE! Don't forget to READ AND REVIEW! See ya guys next time!
