New York to Tennessee
Lorilei sits in the passenger seat of Klaus' car with Stefan in the back seat, brooding away as usual since they've been on the road for the last day. "Could you stop brooding, it's getting on my nervous," The Siphon complains as she looks over the back of her seat at the ripper, who ignores her.
"We're almost there calm down," Klaus tries defusing the situation as he drives into the busy city.
"You're going the wrong way. NYU Culture building is in Washington Square East," She argues, and he groans. "I already told you that."
"She did," Stefan defends her, and Klaus turns the car down another road heading for their destination.
"Alright already, I heard you," The Hybrid groans and looks at the McKnight Witch. "Why are we going to your workplace anyway?"
"I told you. I was initially on sabbatical, but if I stay with you for however long. I can't keep working there, and I need to sort a few things out here, considering that is where my little office is too." Lorilei explains, and they come to the car park of the culture building, and she lets him park in her parking space since this will be the last time she uses it. The Siphon gets out of the car and fixes her beige blouse, tucking it into her black trouser before heading into the building, being careful of the puddle since she's wearing one of her most expensive pairs of high heels.
Lorilei walks into her office, past her old secretary, to find someone in her chair. "Who the hell are you?" She demands, looking at the older woman at her desk.
"I'm Professor Heartchild, and you are?" The woman replies, and Klaus walks in with a box.
"I'm Lorilei McKnight. This is my office or was. But I'm pretty sure I told Jessica no one was to set foot into my office." Lorilei retorts, and Jessica looks between her bosses in fear.
"Are you coming back?" Jessica asks in hope and looks at the Hybrid carrying the box. "Oh…" She deflates.
"I've already talked with the dean. I'm leaving the university as I got a job researching while I was away, and it's more money," The McKnight lies and begins packing her things away. "Oh. You'll be wanting this," She hands the new professor a stack of files. "And these, as Michelle likes to ask stupid questions. Also, Noah is one to watch out for as he likes to delay his essays." She hands over some papers before continuing to tidy up her office. "I'll get some movers to collect my furniture into storage. You'll probably want to find your own." She picks up her box of things and walks out of the office with the Original Hybrid following.
"You were almost cruel in there," Klaus comments as he sees how the students react to her presence as she walks through the hallway, and they part like the red sea, making the Hybrid smirk at the power she holds, even in the human world.
Klaus closes the car's boot with Lorilei's box of office things, and Lorilei gets into the passenger seat; she looks back to see Stefan brooding still, and Klaus climbs into the car. "You're apartment?" The Hybrid questions, and she nods, getting out her phone.
"I'm keeping the apartment. I just need to grab a few things and have some sent stuff sent to Mystic Falls," Lorilei explains as he drives to the Siphon's apartment building.
"How many apartments do you need?" Stefan questions, not meaning to, but he can't help himself.
"Well, I technically own two here in New York and the apartments over the bookshop in Mystic Falls," She informs them.
"What do you mean technically two apartments?" Klaus asks her, turning down a busy street and getting stuck in small traffic.
"Elijah has one a few blocks away from mine. It's where we lived together before I got my own place after graduating college," The Siphon explains, and they come across her apartment building. "This is it; you'll have to park down the block in the underground car park."
Lorilei opens the front door of her apartment, leaving the Original and ripper at the door; she places her bag before looking back at Klaus and Stefan. "Right. Sorry. Please come to my expensive apartment that will not have dead bodies lying around or blood on the furniture. Are we clear?" The men nod, and she points down the hallway. "Guest bedrooms are down the end of the hall. Take your pick." She turns back around, entering the kitchen, looking for something to eat, but there's nothing edible.
"It' 's a nice place. How can you afford it?" A voice makes the Siphon jump, seeing Stefan walking into the room.
"I'm a college professor and one of the leading experts in the Occult. I've written a few books based on my own experience and history, and I own a business exclusively for the Supernaturals." Lorilei replies and sits at the kitchen island, opening her palm, and a ball of purple magic appears before one of her many Grimorires appears. "Be it Daylight amulets, spells, herbs and maybe even a little help. And I don't discriminate." She gets out her phone, planning on getting some takeout from her favourite place. "By the way, you still owe me for damages to my apartment building, so you can pay for takeout." She hands him her phone, and he looks, seeing she's put in a large order of Chinese. "You can add whatever you want. Considering you're paying. Don't forget to ask Klaus if he wants anything."
The next day, Klaus walks into the kitchen to find Lorilei cooking breakfast; she looks up to see him staring at her. "I got Stefan to grab some groceries this morning."
"I can see that. What are we having?" He asks, sitting at the bench, watching her as she plates up their breakfast and admiring the casual red silk jumper and checker jeans with black pumps, surprised that even that seems like expensive brands.
"Bagel Breakfast Sliders. Bacon, cheese, egg and onions. Enjoy," She puts the plate in front of him; he looks at them and takes a bite. "Good. Aren't they?" He nods with his mouth full. "You're brother liked them too." That statement makes him choke on his food as Stefan walks in, and she plates him some sliders.
"What are we doing today?" Stefan asks the other supernatural beings in the room.
"I need to grab a few things from my workshop if we're going to start our hunt for Werewolves." Lorilei tells them, biting into her own bagel.
"What could you possibly need? You have your own Witchy room in your apartment," Klaus questions, pointing to the secret entrance that holds behind it one of her many Witch rooms.
"So I converted my dining room into a little Witch room, but it doesn't hold anything to do with the Society of the False Moon. Everything to do with my little supernatural business is at my workshop." She explains and puts her empty plate into the sink, her mind slipping into a memory that makes her smile.
After their shopping trip, a teenage Lorilei stepped out of the elevator with the Noble Original to get the young brunette some new clothes and even did her hair. The young Siphon can't help but check her new red checkered flannel shirt hiding her dark grey crop top that goes with her new black skinny jeans and brand sneakers. "This is your new home," Elijah announced, opening the door to his apartment and letting the young Siphon inside as he closed the door, seeing the happiness in her eyes. "I'll show you to your room."
"I have my own room?" Lorilei asked him, looking at the Original as he guided her into her new room.
"I wasn't sure what you'd like, but I hope it's to your liking," He said, feeling a little nervous about the teen's reaction and opened the door.
"This is mine?" She questioned in awe, looking at the beautifully decorated room fit for a teenager.
"Yes. Do you like it?" The Noble Original inquired as the young brunette looked around the room, and she spun around to face him with a big goofy smile that she couldn't get off her face.
"Thank you!" The young Siphon exclaimed in glee, hugging the man, who seemed shocked at her action, but hugged her back, stroking the soft brunette hair she had dyed with purple streaks at the end. The Vampire can't help the smile off his own face as he keeps the teen close, glad to make her happy and would do anything to keep her that way.
Klaus looks at Lorilei as she snaps out of the memory and turns around with a soft smile. "Ready?" She asks them, looking at their empty plates.
"What about the dishes?" He wonders, and she shrugs.
"I have my housekeeper. She comes once a week. That won't change," The Siphon replies and grabs the duffle bags by the door. "Do you think you'll have enough room in the car?"
"Why?" The Hybrid frowns, looking at her bags full of clothes, shoes and other items.
"I need to get some things from my workshop. If you want to find the Werewolves, I'll need to get a few things, like a book containing every contact I've come across." Lorilei counters and opens the door to her apartment, letting Stefan and Klaus through before closing it for possibly the longest time.
Klaus parks the car outside a storage building and gets out with Lorilei and Stefan, the Siphon taking the lead into the building. The brunette goes to the reception desk, signs into the building and heads down the long corridor towards one of the doors. "This is it?" Stefan asks, seeming unimpressed with the door, but she opens it and shows the spacious workshop filled with numerous magical items and books.
"You were saying?" Klaus teases the young Vampire as they step inside the room, and Lorilei walks to the wall trinkets and goes into one of the drawers by her desk, getting out an address book filled with odd pieces of paper. "That it?"
"Yep. Every Vampire, Witch and Werewolf that's ever needed my help is in this book." Lorilei confirms and flips through some of the pages. "No. Nope. She's a pain. He's a loner. He might be our best bet."
"So, where are we heading?" The Hybrid asks, and she slams the book closed.
"Looks like we're heading to Florida," She announces, and Stefan groans, making her smirk a little.
Stefan gets into the car and looks at his phone, seeing the missing calls from Elena, Damon and the rest of his friends. Lorilei gets into the car after placing more of her things into the car boot and waits for Klaus to start the car as she looks through her contact book, her eyes lingering on one name in particular before she closes the book again. "What is this man's name?" Klaus asks her, starting the engine.
"Jackson Smith. It's a fake last name. The last time I talked to him, he was living in Lake City. We'll start there." She tells him, and he nods, beginning the long drive. "We're not sleeping in the car, are we?"
Lorilei opens her eyes after dozing off to find herself in front of a hotel, Klaus takes the keys out of the ignition and goes to wake the Siphon, but she opens the door, stepping out to see they're at a nice hotel. "When I asked if we were sleeping in the car. It was fine if we didn't go too far off from our destination," Lorilei remarks as she walks in behind the Hybrid as he goes to the reception desk, booking them a room.
"What do you mean there's only 2 rooms available?" Klaus questions, looking at the poor man cowering behind the desk.
"What rooms do you have?" She asks the receptionist.
"We have 2 Queen beds and a King bed, ma'am," He answers, and she reaches into the Original's jacket, takes his wallet out and places down his platinum card.
"We'll take them," The Siphon announces with a grin. "You boys can bunk together for one night. Do you do breakfast?"
Klaus groans as he looks at the two beds he and Stefan have to share while Lorilei gets her own room. He looks at the ripper as he moves around the room and goes to the bedroom door. "I'm going out for a bite," The Hybrid announces and steps out of the room, leaving the young Vampire alone while the Original goes down a floor, seeing Lorilei walking towards him on her phone. "Where are you going?"
"Oh! Klaus. I was going to find something to eat. Care to join me?" She invites him. "There's a good restaurant a block away."
"I would like that," Klaus agrees, and they head out of the hotel, leaving Stefan to fend for himself.
Lorilei sits across from Klaus in a unique restaurant full of Vampires; the Original looks around the room in surprise. "How do you know about this place?" He asks her.
"I own 5% 0f the business. Val loves to cook," Lorilei explains and smiles when their food comes out. "Klaus. Meet Valentina, I believe your brother Kol turned her some time ago."
"Nice to meet you, Klaus. I hope you enjoy it," Val says, seeming nervous as the Original Hybrid takes a bite of his Melanzane alla Parmigiana, and he seems to enjoy it as he takes another bite.
"Good, isn't it?" The Siphon questions, looking at Klaus as she digs into her Chorizo and Mozzarella Gnocchi bake. "Heavenly as always, Val."
"Thank you, Lorilei. If it wasn't for you I never would have opened my little restaurant," The Vampire replies with a smile. "I'll let you both enjoy your dinner."
Klaus and Lorilei move from the restaurant and go to a bar not far from the hotel; they sit at a table nursing some scotch. "So, what happened to your mother?" Lorilei asks as she looks at the Original. "Elijah was rather vague about it."
"I'm surprised he mentioned her at all," Klaus counters, avoiding the question.
"He didn't really. I found her Grimoire one day. He let me study some of her spells," She explains and sips her drink.
"What about you? What happened to your parents?" The Hybrid asks her, and she smiles almost.
"I killed them," The brunette answers, making him smirk at her.
"Really?" He questions, and she looks at him.
"Of course. I was only 16. I'd had enough of their abuse and cruelty," Lorilei replies. "I hear your father was a piece of work too. Heres to shitty parents," She raises her glass, clinking it with Klaus' glass, and they continue their talk about their crappy pasts, seeming to bond over their shared parental abuse.
Lorilei and Klaus stumble out of the bar past midnight and make their way to the hotel when it begins to rain; the pair don't make it far from the bar when the McKngiht Siphon looks at the handsome Hybrid, stopping them from walking up their stairs and plucks up the drunken courage as she plants her lips on his. Lorilei drunkenly kisses Klaus, who happily reciprocates. The Hybrid pushes her back on the opposite wall as the kiss grows heated; the pair can't seem to get enough of each other as the bar door opens, stopping their heated make-out session. "Go on home! Love birds!" The barkeeper shouts, and the two supernaturals separate before laughing and deciding to head for their hotel, the Siphon leading him to her room. Klaus pins the brunette against the wall, kissing her lips, both enjoying themselves in the moment that leads to them spending the rest of the night in each other's arms.
The following day, Lorilei opens her eyes to see herself back in her hotel; she squints a little from the bright light coming from the open curtains she must have left open the night before. She turns around in her bed, spotting a certain Original lying behind her, his arm around her waist as he snuggles into her hair. "Well this is something," She mutters, closing her eyes again.
That same day in Mystic Falls, Edward and Alexis McKnight look at the busy bookshop and walk inside to see many people, along with two new faces serving customers in the small cafe and no sign of Lorilei for the last few days. Edward walks up to the counter with Luka serving a customer and waits his turn before standing in front of the Warlock, who looks startled at the appearance of the male McKnight twin. "Where is she?" He demands, and Luka looks at him, then at his sister and Maddox.
"Where is Lorilei?" Alexis asks, nicer than her twin brother.
"Why do you want to know?" Greta asks, and Maddox walks over, looking at the twins.
"Ah. You're the twins. I saw you at your uncle's funeral," Maddox comments, surprising the twins.
"You were there?" Edward shrieks, looking at the older Warlock.
"Yeah. Your older sister was there too," He confirms, surprising the twins.
"Is she okay?" Alexis asks, seeming genuine.
"As far as I know," Luka tells her. "Why do you want to know?"
"She gave us this letter," Edward informs them, taking out a letter, which Maddox takes, seeing the familiar handwriting of his college best friend.
"She wasn't kidding," Maddox whistles, and Greta takes the paper, reading it over.
"Call her, Luka," Greta orders her younger brother after reading the letter.
At that very moment, Lorilei sits in the car as they drive along the road heading for Lake City, and the brunette gets out her notebook, ignoring both men. She's ignoring Klaus because he hasn't talked to her since the night they spent together, and she's being a little petty with ignoring the Original, but she wants to act a little childish like Stefan. Lorielei is ignoring him, too, as he keeps brooding about leaving his girlfriend, brother and friends. Suddenly, Lorilei's phone goes off in the back pocket of her red checkered jeans, startling her, and she closes her notebook and fixes her black woollen jumper that keeps riding up her back. The Not-Witch sees Luka calling her and answers her mobile. "Hey, Luka. What's wrong?" She asks, making Klaus look at her as he drives.
"The twins are here to talk to you apparently," Luka informs her, and she hangs up the phone, trying to ignore the looks from the two Vampires.
"What?" The Siphon snaps, making them look away. "God, what could they possible want?"
"To talk to you," Stefan grumbles, earning a small pain spell, making him yelp, and she smirks a little, glad to hurt the ripper a little since all his brooding has grown tiresome. "Shut up." He hisses, and Klaus opens his mouth, about to say something but earns a glare from the Siphon and shuts his mouth.
"She hung up," Luka announces, looking at the twins.
"Sounds like her," Maddox comments. "I'll talk to her later. Don't worry about it."
"We wanted to thank her," Edward sighs, clenching his fists in anger, and Alexis takes her brother's hand, trying to comfort him.
"She's a complicated Siphon. I'll talk to her later. Promise," The older Warlock assures the twins.
"Thank you. Here's are number," Alexis tells him, handing him a slip of paper before they leave.
A few days later, the Werewolf hunting party finally arrive in Lake City, and Stefan is on the phone trying to find a hotel for the three of them. Lorilei continued not talking to Klaus since their night together, and Stefan, who was brooding and asking awkward questions again. "Have you found a hotel yet?" She asks the ripper, tired of driving around waiting for a room.
"It's kinda hard to find a hotel on such sort notice," Stefan argues and returns to his phone, trying to find a hotel for them to spend a few days.
Later that day, the three supernaturals find themselves a hotel, and Lorilei drops her bags on the bed, glad she gets her own room, not wanting to spend another second with Klaus and Stefan. She takes off her dark grey blazer, wishing to get undressed out of her black top and jeans, having enough of the long car journey. While a few doors down, Klaus sits on his bed, thinking about the brunette woman a few rooms down, wondering why she isn't talking to him after their night together.
Klaus lay in the hotel bed beside Lorilei, his arm around her waist; he felt her move, but he kept his eyes closed, snuggling into her hair. "Well, this is something." She muttered and seemed to go back to sleep, and he enjoyed the moment, but his phone went off, and he used his Vampire speed to answer before it woke the beautiful Siphon.
"What?!" He hissed and collected his clothes from the floor, quickly dressed himself and left a note before leaving the room.
"Oh shod this!" Klaus exclaims and rushes out of the room, heading for Lorilei's room; he feels his palms getting sweaty but pushes his nerves away and knocks on the door, waiting for the brunette he needs to talk to open her door. "Come on," He mutters, and the door flies open; he opens his mouth, trying to find the words as he looks at Lorilei in her pink cotton shorts and tank top.
"What do you want?" Lorilei huffs, getting agitated at the Hybrid.
"Why are you angry at me?" He asks her, and she scoffs before trying to close the door, but he stops her, using his inhuman strength to stop her.
"Your an idiot. That's why!" She snaps, fighting with the Hybrid in trying to close the door.
"I left you a note!" The Hybrid yells, attracting some unwanted attention from other hotel guests.
"No you didn't!" The Siphon reveals, and Klaus freezes, letting her slam the door in his face, but he doesn't stop, banging on the door, making her swing the door open again.
"I left a note. I did. I got a call, and I didn't want to wake you, so I left," The Original confesses, and she looks at him in shock.
"Okay. Well, it wasn't there when I woke up. You didn't even try to talk to me afterwards. You're 1000 years old; surely you're not that much of an idiot." Lorilei argues, pushing himself into the room and closing the door behind him.
"Look, I can be an ass. I agree somewhat," Klaus agrees, earning a scoff from the Siphon. "But you already seemed angry with me. What would you like for me to have said?"
"Anything. Asked if I got your mysteriously missing note. Something. Moron," She grumbles and sits on her bed, crossing her arms as he watches her, and he can't help but admire her fire and beauty.
"I'm… sorry. I really thought you'd read the note and seemed angry at me for some reason. I guess. Okay. I am a moron," He rolls his eyes and sees her shaking her head at him.
"Yep. You certainly are," Lorilei agrees, getting up from bed, and walks towards the Original Hybrid, wrapping her arms around his neck. "You know. Next time, you should think about staying. Though if you wake me. I might have to kick you somewhere no one likes to be."
"Dully noted," Klaus muses, pulling her into a kiss that grows heavy.
When morning came, Lorilei dressed for the day in some black and white sneakers with the same black jeans, but due to how humid it was, she changed into a black tank top and put on a light grey blazer and came down to breakfast to find Stefan already at a table. She sits with him as they wait for Klaus, who comes into the restaurant shortly after the Siphon, making her grumble about how obvious the Hybrid is. "So, do you know where this guy lives?" Stefan asks the dark brunette, who looks at the breakfast menu.
"Not far. When I last talked to him, he was living in an apartment building," Lorilei explains, and the waitress comes over to take their order.
"How long ago was it that you talked to him?" Klaus asks her after the waitress takes their order.
"A few years. He was looking for a spell or potion to make the turn less painful," Lorilei answers and sees the look the Vampires are giving each other.
"There is such a thing?" The Hybrid questions, thinking about how amazing the Siphon is.
"Course. I made a few potions for him and a few others. It's pretty easy once you think about it. I'm surprised baby Bennett didn't think about doing it for the Lockwood boy." The Siphon comments, looking at the ripper. "I could always call her and give her some advise."
"You won't even take a call from your siblings, but you're willing to talk to Bonnie who you've said you hate multiply times." Stefan argues and earns a glare from the brunette woman.
"The reason I hate all Bennetts are because they are self righteous, nosy, Vampire hating Witch Bitches. I'm sure you've witnessed it a few times since you've met her," Lorilei reasons, and she sees a flicker in his eyes.
"Yeah," He mutters, and their food arrives.
Lorilei knocks on the apartment door of Jackson Smith, but there's no answer, and she tries again louder. "Open up! Jackson!" The door opens, and a woman answers, looking at the three supernaturals suspiciously; then it turns to anger, looking at Lorilei, who checks out the strange woman.
"Who the hell are you?" The woman demands, looking at the two Vampire and Siphon.
"Does a Jackson Smith live here?" Stefan asks her, and she groans.
"He moved again, didn't he?" Lorilei questions, and the woman nods. "Do you know where?"
"Last I heard, the guy moved to Tempa," She informs them, and they groan.
"Got an address?" Klaus asks her, and the woman sighs, closing the door for a second before handing him a piece of paper. "Thank you, love."
The trio of supernaturals check out of the hotel and get into the car for the three-hour drive to Tampa. "We'll have to find another place to stay once we get to Tampa," Lorilei hints, looking back at Stefan.
"Why? Once we find him we can get out of here," The ripper replies.
"It's 4 now. Once we get there after we've eaten, because unlike you. I need to eat. It'll be close to 8 and I want to sleep on a bed not a car, even for a night." She explains and looks at the Original Hybrid, sharing a look.
Lorilei groans as she stretches in the car, growing tired from the car drive, and Klaus finally stops outside a small hotel in Tampa. "We're here. Get the bags out of the car. I'll get us some rooms," The Hybrid instructs, and Lorilei looks at Stefan.
"What about the car? I don't think they have valets." The McKnight Witch teases him.
"You heard her, Stefan," He counters, looking at the brooding ripper. "And find us a bite." Klaus gets out of the car after throwing the car keys to the younger Salvatore, and Lorilei gets out of the car, grabbing the bags out of the boot before heading inside. Stefan takes the car around the back while Lorilei struggles a little with some of the bags and heads into the hotel to see Klaus taking three sets of keys from the receptionist. "Ah, there you are love. Let me take that," Klaus offers, taking one of the heavy bags, and she drops the other on the floor with a thud.
"I thought we were sharing a room? Klaus, I thought we agreed," Lorilei grumbles and the door behind them, making them turn to see Stefan walk in and the couple move away from each other.
"I got us some rooms. Here's your key," Klaus gives him the key, and the ripper gives them a look before grabbing his fallen bag and heading up to his room. "And these are our keys," He shows the matching set, making Lorilei grin.
"Very clever, Mr Hybrid," She jokes and takes one of the keys.
"How many nights did you pay for?" Lorilei questions, changing into her grey cotton matching top and shorts before getting into the bed.
"A few. I've got a feeling he's not in Tampa anymore," Klaus replies and gets into bed beside her.
"Don't have any faith in me?" She asks, looking at him.
"No. I think he's a runner," He retorts and pulls her into his arms.
"True. The time before, he was living in Gainsville," The Siphon muses and closes her eyes, trying to get some sleep.
"Gainsville?"
The trio of supernaturals arrive at the small house that supposedly Jackson Smith is living in the following day. "50 on he's moved again," Stefan jokes as they approach the front door.
"So negative, Stefan," Klaus teases, and Lorilei knocks on the door.
"Don't joke," Lorilei warns them when the door opens to reveal an elderly man. "Hi. We're looking for a Jackson Smith. We heard he was living here."
"That's sounds like my grandson. Though his name last name isn't Smith," The old man muses, looking at the two Vampires. "I know that vile smell anywhere."
"Yeah. They're Vampires. Well, one of them is. He's a Hybrid," She points to Klaus, who shows his glowing golden eyes. "We need Jackson's help."
"And who are you?" He demands, looking at the Siphon.
"I'm Lorilei. An old friend friend of Jackson's," The McKnight explains, putting on a fake smile, and fixes her blue blazer that matches the trousers and top she's wearing, even her shoes.
"I see, you're the girl who helped his friend Hayley out with that problem," The man muses, and she nods.
"Yeah. I know Hayley. She's a good friend of mine," Lorilei smiles, thinking of the younger woman. "Is he staying with her?"
"I believe so. The last time I talked to him was a few months ago," The old man informs them, and Stefan smirks, holding his hand out to Klaus, who slaps the money into his hand.
"Has he changed his name again?" The Siphon inquires, and the man nods.
"He said to call him Jack Turner in any letters I send him," He informs them. "But I don't know where they are now."
"Don't worry. I do know. Thank you for the help."
Klaus and Lorilei return to their hotel room, and the Siphon gets out her phone and looks through her contacts. "I'm not running over to the Appalachian Mountains," She grumbles and calls someone she knows for some answers. "Hey, Hayley? Yeah, it's Lorilei. Yeah, it's good to talk to you again. I need to know if a Jack Turner or Jackson Smith are staying with you and the pack." Klaus looks at her, wondering why they're bothering to hunt for Werewolves when she knows about one already.
"Love, why aren't we going to the Appalachian Mountains?" Klaus questions, and she stares at him, making him shiver a little at the intense look.
"Because I like them, and we don't even know what could happen to them. Now shut up," Lorilei goes back to her phone call. "Sorry about that, Hayley. Yeah. Okay. Thanks," She hangs up the phone. "He said he was going to Miami before he left her a month ago."
"Good to know."
Over a week later, Klaus, Lorilei and Stefan walk down the streets of Orlando, making their way to a specific theme park. "He's at Disney World?" Stefan blurts, looking at the entrance suspiciously.
"He had a kid apparently a few years ago and he's staying here for a little while according to his ex." Lorilei explains and takes out Klaus' card, handing it over. "Three adult tickets."
"We could have compelled her," Klaus grumbles as they walk through the gates, earning a few strange looks from parents as they walk through the park.
"Yeah, sure. And what happens if they can't be compelled?" She counters, and the Original looks at her, grumbling under his breath. "His ex said he'd be at the waterpark since the kid likes them."
After an hour of looking, Lorilei spots Jack Turner with his kid lining up for one of the rides, and she runs over to him, glad she picked trainers today instead of heels seeing as she's wearing a thin silk black and white striped shirt and black trousers. "Jackson!" She calls out to him, and he hears her, looking in their direction.
"Lorilei?" Jackson frowns, seeing the familiar brunette with two strange men. "Are you okay?"
"Fine. I'm just glad I found you after traipsing all over Florida," Lorilei replies. "I need your help. We're looking for a pack. You know one we all hate."
"What, like those living in Florida a little while ago and suddenly left?" He questions, looking at his kid, who jumps around on the spot in excitement for the ride.
"They moved to Mystic Falls. And their dead," She corrects him, and he tries to cover the boy's ears. "Anyone else?"
"I know a Timmy Carson. He lives in Jacksonville. We went to high school together. He always asks me to join his pack every few years," Jack informs her, and she smiles.
"Thanks, Jackson. Hey, little man. What rides you've been on?" Lorilei asks the little boy by their feet.
"All of them!" The kid replies with a big smile.
"Awesome! Thanks again, Jackson. See ya later," She waves him goodbye but stops. "Ever thought about becoming a Hybrid?"
"Hybrid? You mean… that's him?" Jackson points at Klaus, who smirks.
"Think about it, mate," Klaus tells him, and they walk away.
"Can we go on a few rides?" Lorilei questions, looking at the Original, who seems to cave a little at seeing her doe-like eyes.
"Timmy Carson?" Klaus asks, walking into the restaurant owned by the Werewolf, who looks up in fear as the Original Hybrid strolls towards him with Stefan and Lorilei flanking his sides.
"Yeah? What can I help you with?" Timmy asks the Hybrid.
"We heard you know of a wolf pack. The bad kind," Lorilei inquires, looking at the scared wolf.
"I don't associate with those kinds of wolves. My pack and I stay clear of them," The pack leader argues, and Klaus steps towards him.
"Is there anyone you know that hangs around those types of wolves?" She questions, and he looks around.
"Yeah. There were rumours of a pack of kids starting their own pack. You know, trying to find their own place in the world. Nothing but trouble. I heard they were in Clearwater last time. Their leader is an old pack member, Juliet Heynes." The Werewolf informs them. "If you could. Get her to come back."
"We'll try our best. Thanks, Timmy," The woman replies, pulling a business card from her denim jean pocket, handing it to him, and walking out of the restaurant with the two Vampires.
"Why'd you give him a card, love?" Klaus asks her as they walk back to their hotel, needing to head for Clearwater.
"It's my business card. Gotta get new customers some way," Lorilei reasons and sneakily places her hand in his as they walk.
"How are we going to find this Juliet?" Stefan questions as he walks in front of the couple.
"I swiped a picture off his wall on our way out. It's a family photo," She reveals, showing them the picture she took. "A simple shadow locator spell will find her."
"I'm sure I saw her here," Lorilei says for the fifth time as they walk around the botanical gardens trying to find the teenager they've been looking for the past week.
"You said that an hour ago," Stefan complains as they turn another corner and spot the girl they've been looking for. "Thank God."
"Juliet Heynes?" Klaus calls to the girl, who turns in fear, looking at the Hybrid, but she almost relaxes, seeming happy to see them.
"Who are you?" Juliet asks them.
"I'm Lorilei. This is Klaus and Stefan. We've been looking for you and your pack," Lorilei explains, taking off her white blazer and showing her black top tucked into her black joggers as the heat seems to get to the Siphon.
"My pack?" She shrieks, looking around frantically in fear. "You haven't seen them have you?"
"No. We're trying to find them," Klaus tells her, and she sighs in relief.
"A man came into the pack some time ago, and he turned everyone against me. I was kicked out of my own pack. I have nowhere to go." The young Werewolf girl breaks into tears, hugging Lorilei, who seems uncomfortable with the sudden hug and tries to give her some comfort.
"We saw Timmy Carson," Lorilei tells her, making the girl look at her. "He told us to get you back."
"He did?" Juliet asks, wiping away her tears.
"Yeah. I think you should go back. You can't be without your pack," Klaus adds, and Lorilei looks at the Hybrid, understanding why he wants more Hybrids so that he'll never be alone without a pack.
"I will. Thank you," The young wolf smiles and goes to leave.
"Wait. We need to find your pack, or someone who can lead us to one of the packs we've heard is causing some terrible trouble," Lorilei asks her, and Juliet stops, turning back to them.
"I won't betray my old pack. Even if they kicked me out. But there was a mean Werewolf we crossed a while ago who was trying to recruit some of the pack members. I'd heard he was one of the wolves who kill for pleasure. They let themselves lose in populated areas hoping to come across humans to kill. I think he was called Robert Baines. A few of the older boys went with him. He lives in Pensacola!" The young Werewolf girl informs them. "I should be going back to my mother. The full moon is coming soon. Thank you!" She runs off, leaving the three supernaturals alone in the gardens.
"I hope we find a pack soon. We've been searching for nearly two months for a wolf pack. We found Robert Baine, who led us to Memphis for this Ray Sutton, who moved to Knoxville, then Huntsville and finally said to have settled in Clarksville with two women." Stefan summarises as they sit in the car on their way to their next destination.
"Sounds about right. You can't complain, mate. You've had your fun killing along the way," Klaus replies and stops the car on the side of the road.
"Are we there?" Lorilei asks after waking up from her nap and looks around to see that at the roadside. "We break down or something?"
"No. I've got an idea," The Hybrid says and turns the car off. "Follow my lead."
