The Hybrid

^WARNING - SENSITIVE TOPIC LATER^

The following morning, Damon removes the notes from the closet door as he watches the news about his dead girlfriend, and Elena walks into his room, needing to talk to him. "Just can't stay away, can you?" He jokes, looking at the doppelganger.

"You've been dodging my calls," Elena retorts.

"Yeah, well, busy dating a dead fake girlfriend and all," Damon snarks back at her, hurting a little from the events of the night before.

"Why didn't you tell me?" She demands.

"Happy Birthday, Elena. Stefan killed Andie," He patronises the doppelganger.

"He called me, Damon," The doe-eyed human informs him.

"What?" The older Salvatore questions, surprised at his brother's actions and unsure if it's entirely true.

"Stefan called me last night," Elena repeats herself.

"Well, what'd he say?" Damon asks her, interested.

"He didn't say anything, but it was him. I asked Sheriff Forbes if she would trace the call's origin. It came from Tennessee," She informs him, showing the note.

"Where he's binge drinking on the country folk. We went through this, Elena. Stefan's gone. I don't mean geographically," He replies, throwing the pieces of paper into his fireplace.

"If he was gone, he wouldn't have called," The doppelganger argues, having faith in her boyfriend, and Damon grabs the matches, burning everything, so Elena comes up with another plan.

Alaric is lying in bed after a night of drinking his sorrows, having broken up with Jenna and being kicked out of the Gilbert house in one night. Stuck in his thoughts while he sleeps, someone knocks on the door, disturbing his slumber and waking the history teacher. "Go away, Damon!" Alaric shouts, but they keep tapping, and he groans in frustration, getting up, and walking through his apartment, putting on his jeans before opening the door to reveal Elena on the other side.

"Hi," Elena greets him awkwardly.

"You're, uh… Not who I expected," The Vampire Hunter mutters, buttoning up his jeans.

"I need you to tell me what you know about Stefan and Tennessee," She demands.

"Did you miss the part where I checked out of all this after your aunt kicked me out?" The aunt's ex reminds her, walking to his kitchen, and the doppelganger follows her inside.

"Come on, Ric. Whatever Damon knows, you know," The doe-eyed girl argues.

"Ask Damon," Alaric tells her as she cleans the empty beer bottles.

"Yeah, but Damon's not exactly in the mood to help right now," Elena points out as he puts on a shirt and looks through the fridge.

"For good reason. Because it's not safe for you. Stefan's off the rails," He reminds her.

"Yeah, but he's still holding on to his humanity, which means he can still be saved," She argues, finishing her cleanup.

"And why do you have to be the one to save him?" The ex-hunter questions.

"Because I'm not the kind of person who checks out. Look, he would never give up on me. I'm not gonna give up on him. Tell me what you know, Ric. Please," The doppelganger digs at him, manipulating the human.

"They've been tracking Werewolves, he, Klaus and Lorilei. All over the eastern seaboard. We thought we had 'em just outside of Memphis.…." Alaric explains with a sigh.

Klaus, Lorilei and Stefan walk through the woods of the Smoky Mountains as they head up the mountainside, Stefan holding the unconscious Ray over his shoulders. "You okay? Is Ray getting heavy?" Klaus asks the younger Vampire.

"I'm fine," Stefan replies, not wanting to talk to the Hybrid.

"You sure about that?" He jokes. "You know, we've been walking for quite some time now. If you need some water or a little sit-down…"

"You know, I get that we're, uh… we're stuck together, but if we could maybe just skip the chit-chat, it'd be great," The Ripper says, and Lorilei groans at the two Vampires, her human body growing tired.

"So much brooding. Your self-loathing is suffocating you, my friend," Klaus teases him and stops, seeing the Siphon slowing down behind them.

"Maybe it's 'cause I'm a little tired of hunting Werewolves. We've been at it all summer," Stefan says, looking back at the lagging McKnight Witch. "Looks like she's tired too."

"I bought these shoes. That are not made for walking long distances," Lorilei snaps, pointing at her black boots and groans at the two Vampires, hating wearing such casual clothing for the hike.

"Thanks to our pal, Ray, we found ourselves a pack. There," Klaus says, looking through the trees, and they stop, seeing they've found the pack, who are getting ready for the full moon. Stefan enters the campsite, alerting the Werewolves to the Vampire's presence. He places Ray on the ground with a thud before a woman rushes over to the unconscious wolf lying in the dirt.

"Ray! Oh my God. What's going on? Who are you?" The female Werewolf gasps in shock, kneeling beside him, and the couple joins the Vampire.

"The important question is, who am I. Please forgive the intrusion. My name is Klaus," He introduces himself.

"You're the Hybrid," She mutters, looking at him and getting to her feet, trying to distance herself and the other Werewolf by her side.

"You've heard of me. Fantastic," Klaus smirks.

"Oh great. His ego's gotten bigger. I'm gonna pay for it later," Lorilei mumbles, rolling her eyes and earning a look from Stefan, who is still unaware of the relationship between the Siphon and Original Hybrid.

At the Lockwood Mansion, Carol pours herself a glass of scotch to settle her nerves and quickly puts some vervain from one of the darts into the pot of coffee before her son arrives. "Hey, mom," He greets her, kissing her on the cheek as she stiffly hugs him.

"Morning, sweetheart. Coffee's hot," She says, moving away, watching as he pours himself some coffee.

"Rough night?" He asks, looking at her over his shoulder, seeing the glass of alcohol in her hand.

"Uh, rough week. I'm a little stressed. You?" The mayor replies, trying to make conversation and puts down her scotch.

"Feeling pretty good," Tyler confirms, moving out of the room.

"You know, if you're going to bring a girl home, I wish she'd have the tact to not sneak out like a prostitute," Carol remarks, making her son look down in guilt.

"I'm sorry," He says and looks at her and snaps his head up. "She snuck out?"

"Hmm," She muses, and he takes a sip of his coffee, cringes at the funny taste and tips out the contents.

"Don't wait up tonight," The young wolf tells her, kissing her on the cheek and steps away, but stops, turning back to his mother. "Oh, and Caroline, she's not a prostitude." She nods in agreement, and he walks away; Carol sighs in relief before taking her phone out, calling someone.

"Bill, it's, um, Carol Lockwood. I've gotten myself into a bit of a Vampire situation," The mayor explains into the phone.

Jeremy walks into the Mystic Grill and joins Matt in the changing room as the blond quarterback prepares for work. "Please tell me you're not turning into one of those losers that hangs out at work on his day off," He jokes, tying his apron on, and Alexis walks in behind the youngest Gilbert.

"You remember what we talked about last night, how I've been seeing things?" Jeremy questions, looking at the young Witch.

"Honestly, Jer, last night is kind of a blur," Matt admits.

"What's wrong, Jeremy?" Alexis asks him.

"Well, I saw her again. I saw Vicki," Jeremy confesses, seeming uncomfortable.

"Why are you… Why are you telling me this? You're dating a Witch. Why don't you tell her?" Matt questions, and Alexis can't help the scoff that escapes her lips at the mention of the Benette Witch.

"Tell Bonnie that she brought me back to life and now I'm seeing my dead girlfriend?" He asks him and looks at the young Mcknight Witch. "We've got a Witch here and even if we didn't. There's examples all over the internet. We need…" The youngest Gilbert removes his bag and grabs some papers, showing them to the others. "Personal items, and it works best when a family member tries to make contact."

"No, no, no, no, no, no. We're… We're not contacting my sister," Matt declines, not wanting to avoid the supernatural as much as possible.

"She said, "Help me"," Jeremy informs him.

"If you're messing with me, man…" He warns the younger male.

"I saw her, Matt. She asked for help. You are the one she loves the most. If anyone's gonna be able to help me to connect to her, it's you," The younger teen argues, needing to know what's happening to him, and Matt takes one, looking at it before nodding in agreement.

"I'll make sure nothing bad happens," Alexis promises. "Now, I need to get to work," She looks at the blond quarterback and heads out to see Elena sitting with Tyler and Alaric at the bar, who's watching them.

"A lot of us like to keep to ourselves for the full moon, chain ourselves up," Tyler explains. "But there are some Werewolves that like to gather in places where they don't have to do that, where they can enjoy it."

"What kind of places?" Elena inquires.

"Mountains, state parks, deserts, that kind of stuff," He clarifies.

"Anywhere in Tennessee?" She asks, thinking of Stefan.

"Yeah. Here. Give me your phone. I'll try to pull up a map," The young wolf says, and she hands over her phone.

"Thanks for this. I know it's asking a lot," The doe-eyed teen comments.

"As Caroline like to remind me, Stefan's in this mess because I bit Damon. I figure I owe you one," Tyler assures her and looks at her, having a certain blond on his mind. "Have you talked to her today?"

"No. Why?" Elena asks him with a frown.

"Just curious. Here," The young wolf hands her back the phone, showing the location. "That's your best bet." They quickly say farewells, and Elena joins Alaric at the bar, drinking some coffee.

"How do you feel about a little hike through the Smoky Mountains?" She questions, and he gives her a strange look.

"You wanna hunt down a pack of Werewolves on a full moon?" Alaric quizzes her, thinking she's gone nuts with the loss of her boyfriend.

"We'll be out of there before the moon is full. If you don't come with me, I'm going by myself," Elena announces, manipulating the man, and he looks at her. "What? You're the one who told me that I could handle things on my own now."

"Yeah, I meant, like deal with Damon and your friends," He argues and sees the look she's giving him. "A-All right, fine. Let's just… Let's just go. But, uh, you're driving," He fishes out some money before following the doppelganger.

Lorilei sits on the rock with Klaus and Stefan as everyone in the campsite stares openly at them. "It's fascinating, actually… A Werewolf who isn't beholden to the moon, a Vampire who doesn't burn in the sun. A true Hybrid," Klaus muses, and Ray gasps for air, rolling around in the dirt. "Excellent timing, Ray. Very dramatic."

"Like someone I know," Lorilei whispers to herself, looking at the Original Hybrid, who looks back at her.

"What's happening to me?" Ray demands, rolling onto his front.

"Stefan?" Klaus says, looking at the Ripper, who gets to his feet, facing the pack.

"Are any of you human? Your friend here needs human blood to complete his transition to Vampire. If he doesn't get it, he will die," Stefan warns them.

"Doesn't take much, just a sample," Lorilei tells them, looking around the campsite. "Anyone? A girlfriend or boyfriend that's along for the ride?"

"Why don't you do it, blood bitch," The woman sneers, angering the Siphon and Klaus growls in anger, looking at the man standing next to the female Werewolf.

"You," Klaus sneers, rushing over to the human and biting into his forearm before throwing him towards Stefan, who catches the man and topples him to the ground in front of Ray. The woman protests, but Klaus stops her, wrapping his hand around his neck a little too tight.

"If you don't drink it, Ray, I will. Problem is, I don't know how to stop," Stefan warns him as Ray looks at the blood, fighting the urge to drink.

"It's the new order, sweetheart. You join us, or you die," The Original announces, looking at the woman.

"I'd rather die than be a Vampire," The woman sneers at the Hybrid.

"Wrong choice," He snaps, biting into his wrist before forcing her to drink his blood, and Ray gives into his urges and drinks from the man. "She'll thank me for that later. Heh," He smiles and snaps her neck. "Okay, who's next?" He looks around with a smirk, his eyes turning yellow, and his fangs pop out.

"Just so you know. I hope she stays dead," Lorilei remarks, sitting on the stone bench.

Matt walks over to Tyler as he plays pool and fills his cup of coffee. "You moving in or something? You've been here forever," The blond server asks his friend, who gives up playing and looks at his phone.

"I thought I was meeting Caroline. You haven't seen her, have you?" Tyler asks him, growing worried for the perky Vampire.

"Not keeping up on her comings and goings anymore," Matt sasses his best friend, making light of his break up.

"Look, man, I never meant for me and her being friends to be a problem for you," He argues, hating his friend feeling so awkward.

"It is what it is. Tonight's a full moon. She usually helps you?" The blond quarterback questions.

"Yeah. Whatever," The Werewolf dismisses, growing even more worried.

"Do you, uh… Is this like the kind of thing that you need another person for?" Matt asks him, wanting to help his friend and get out of doing a seance with Jeremy and Alexis.

"I can handle it. But thanks," Tyler assures him and picks up his cup, drinking some of the coffee before cringing from the strange taste. "Ahh. What is up with my taste buds today?"

"Heh. It's the vervain. The Sheriff has me slip it into the coffee here every now and then," He explains, alerting the wolf.

"That's what vervain tastes like?" The young wolf questions, thinking of that morning at home.

"Yeah. I'm surprised you can taste it. The coffee usually hides the flavour. For humans, anyway," Matt replies and walks away, leaving a worried Tyler.

Carol walks to the door after she hears the doorbell and answers the door, letting a man enter the house. "Thank you so much for coming. Does anymore else know you're here?" She questions, closing the door as he looks around stiffly.

"No. I didn't drive through town. I came straight here," Bill answers, and she walks into one of the rooms, heading for the alcohol.

"Can I offer you a drink?" Carol asks.

"I think you should tell me what you expect me to do," The man demands, watching her pour herself a drink.

"I was hoping you could tell me. It's Caroline, Bill. I remember the day when she was born," The mayor argues.

"What does the rest of the council know?" Bill asks her.

"I haven't said a word. I've been putting this together on my own for months now. Any ideas how to handle this? I can't get my hands dirty here for a lot of reasons," Carol tells him, panicking a little.

"She's a Vampire, Carol. We do what we have to do," He reminds her, even if it is his daughter.

Alaric and Elena make it to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, walking along the river and heading for the campsite. "In a couple hours, the full moon's gonna rise above that ridge. If Tyler's right, that's where the pack'll be," The Vampire hunter explains.

"You were a boy scout, weren't you?" Elena teases him.

"Shut up," He laughs.

"A boy scout, slash Vampire slayer," She adds.

"Slash whisky-drinking all-around lost cause," Alaric adds, making the doppelganger laugh, and they come to a quick stop as he drops his bag on the ground, unzipping the front to show all the weapons he's carrying.

"Wow. You came stocked," Elena comments.

"Well, we aren't exactly bird-watching. Here. Put that in your bag," The Vampire Hunter gives her a grenade with a brownish liquid inside.

"Vervain grenade?" She questions, looking at the familiar object.

"Wolfsbane," The history teacher corrects her.

"Well, since we're exchanging gifts…." The doe-eyed teen remarks, taking out John's old magical ring since he found a Witch that made him a new one while tracking Klaus, Stefan and Lorilei.

"That's John Gilbert's old ring," Alaric frowns, looking at the piece of jewellery.

"It was yours once. Go ahead. Take it," Elena tries convincing him. "It'll protect you from whatever supernatural danger we're about to get ourselves into."

"He gave it to you," He argues, not wanting the ring.

"Yeah, but I'm a doppelganger. It's not gonna work on me. He left it for me if I ever have kids," She reminds him.

"Yeah, well, then why don't you save it for future generations of stubborn, relentless baby Gilberts?" The Vampire Hunter retorts, still not wanting the magical ring.

"Okay, and how 'bout you borrow it until after we survive this? I'd feel bad if I got you killed before happy hour," The doppelganger jokes, smiling at him, and he reluctantly gives in, taking the ring off her. She smiles, glad he took it and moves over to the water as she puts his water bottle away, having his back to her. "I don't know why you think that you're a lost cause," She doesn't get to continue as something speeds towards her and pushes her violently into the water. Alaric grabs his crossbow, aiming it at the newcomer in alarm but stops, seeing who it is, and Elena breaks to the surface of the river and sees the older Salvatore standing, leaning against a tree. "Damon! How are you even here?"

"Thanks for the tip, brother," Damon announces Alaric's betrayal as she looks at the older male in horror.

"You sold me out?" Elena exclaims, looking between them.

"Think I'd take you to a mountain range of Werewolves on a full moon without backup?" Alaric questions, looking at her as she glares back.

On the mountain within the campsite, Klaus gives his blood to the human to ensure he doesn't die before the others awake from their transition, having finished turning everyone. "There. Good as new. Now you relax, okay, mate? We're gonna need you when the rest of them wake up," Klaus compels the human as he leans over the human lying in the dirt.

"They're dead. They're all dead," Ray mutters, shivering as he sits on the stone bench as Lorilei speaks with someone on her phone.

"Ah, he's through his transition. He should be feeling better soon," He reasons, walking over to the shivering mess while keeping an eye on Lorilei for her own safety.

"So, is this your master plan? Build an army of Hybrid slaves?" Stefan questions, looking around at the bodies lying all around them.

"No, not slaves. Soldiers, comrades," Klaus corrects him, looking at Lorilei, sharing a look that doesn't go unnoticed by Stefan.

"For what war, might I ask?" He inquires, leaning against one of the trees.

"Oh, you don't arm yourself after war has been declared, Stefan. You build your army so big that no one ever dares pick the fight," The Orignal Hybrid replies, looking at the younger Vampire.

"What makes you so sure that they'll be loyal?" The Ripper questions, trying to get some information.

"Well, it's not difficult to be loyal when you're on the winning team. That's something you'll learn once you shake that horribly depressive chip on your shoulder," Klaus retorts, making the young Vampire laugh.

"That's why you're, uh… you're keeping me around? To witness my attitude adjustment?" Stefan wonders tensely.

"You'll know why I'm keeping you around when I've decided that I want you to know," He assures him and notices that Ray's eyes are bleeding. "Something's wrong," He inspects the man sitting next to him, and Stefan checks him over too.

"That shouldn't be happening, should it?" The younger Salvatore questions, sharing a look with the Hybrid.

"Well, obviously," The Original snipes back. "Lorilei, need help over here," He calls over to them, and she looks up at them, still on the phone.

"Hang on, Edward. Yes, I know. I've already had this conversation… No, you don't have to work. You want to work. I've told Maddox you hate working in the cafe. What more do you want?" Lorilei sighs and moves around to Klaus' side, seeing the state of Ray. "I'm gonna have to hang up now. Wait, is that Jenna? Okay… Sort it out. Bye."

Earlier at the old bookshop, Jenna walks in with a suitcase and tears running down her face; Greta spots the strawberry blond and rushes over to her, helping her with her bags. "Jenna what's wrong?" She asks the older woman, taking her towards the steps that lead upstairs.

"I can't do it anymore," Jenna weeps and Greta looks at Maddox, who shows her he'll be fine on his own, and she takes the weeping mess upstairs to the apartment building owned by Lorilei. The two women walk into Lorilei's apartment to find Edward sitting in the living room on his phone.

"But why do I have to work there?" Edward asks into his phone, unaware that the two women entering the apartment.

"I don't know what to do," She whimpers as Greta places her on the couch next to the Warlock, who jumps.

"Uh, yeah, it is," He whispers into the phone, feeling uncomfortable with the crying redhead. "Wait! Lei, don't hang up on me!" He turns to Greta to see her staring at him. "So… what's going on?"

"I can't do it anymore," Jenna repeats through tears.

"What happened, Jenna?" Greta asks her, sitting next to the distraught strawberry blond.

"I broke up with Alaric last night, and then I heard Elena go behind my back and went off with him to find Stefan." She explains, wiping away her tears.

"I need to call Lorilei again," Edward mutters, calling his older sister, but gets voicemail. "Crap. I'll text her."

"You can stay here, Jenna. Lorilei won't mind a bit. You can staying in the spare room in our apartment," The Witch offers, and the young McKnight looks at them.

"I couldn't do that," Jenna whispers, and they hear a ping.

"Lorilei says you can stay here as long as you want," Edward assures her, reading the text. "Wait. She said you can stay at the McKnight house to make sure Edward and Alexis are okay." He looks at the older woman. "I mean you can stay here or there, it's up to you."

"Thank you," She smiles, but it soon drops, thinking of her nephew. "I should call Jeremy."

"Of course," Greta replies, pulling Edward out of the apartment and letting her have some space. "Get downstairs now."

"Ah! Come on!" Edward groans but follows her downstairs.

Down by the river, Elena stays in the water, refusing to move till she gets her way. "Get out of the water, Elena," Damon orders her.

"If I get out of the water, you're gonna make me go home," Elena argues.

"Yes, because I'm not an idiot like you," He argues back like a child.

"Right now, you're both acting like idiots," Alaric comments, growing annoyed with their childishness.

"You gave up on him, Damon," Elena remarks angrily.

"I didn't give up on him, Elena. I faced reality. Now get out of the water," Damon orders her.

"No!" She refuses outright.

"What's your big plan, Elena? Huh? You gonna walk into a campsite full of Werewolves, roast a marshmallow, and wait for Stefan to stop by?" He taunts her and walks into the river, joining her.

"My plan is to find him and help him. Damon, this is the closest that we've been to him since he left. I'm not going home," The doppelganger argues, standing firm as he stands in front of her in the water.

"Klaus thinks you died when he broke the curse. That makes you safe. This, this is not safe," Damon reminds her.

"I'm not leaving before we find him," Elena sulks, wanting to find her boyfriend no matter what.

"It's a full moon tonight, Elena," He repeats.

"Then we'll find him before then, Damon. Please," She pouts, batting her eyelashes at him, making him cave.

"Okay. Okay. But we are out of here before the moon is full, and I'm Werewolf bair," The older Salvatore warns her, not wanting a repeat the painful side of the venom's effects.

"I promise," The doe-eyed girl replies.

"Unless you wanna relive that whole deathbed kissy thing," Damon teases her, making her a little uncomfortable.

"I said I promise," Elena repeats herself forcefully.

"Fine," He snaps, and they walk out of the water, heading for the Werewolf campsite.

Ray continues to shake as his eyes bleed, the transition not seeming to work as Stefan and Klaus watch as Lorilei pretends to analyse her grimoire for answers. "You said it was gonna feel better. Why doesn't it feel better?" Ray whimpers as his body rejects the change.

"Some master race," Stefan goads the Original.

"Lose the attitude," Klaus snaps, looking at Lorilei, needing to talk to her soon, but his thoughts are interrupted when the woman gasps awake. "Derek, come feed your girlfriend." The human male gets to his feet, walks over to the woman, and Ray begins to snarl at them before racing away, jumping over some of the large rocks, making a break for freedom, and Klaus looks at Stefan. "Go get him." Stefan complies, running after Ray.

Stefan catches up to the Werewolf, tackling him to the ground, but the transitioning Werewolf fights back and bites into the Vampire's arm before leaving; Stefan looks at his arm in fear and pain but gets to his feet and is about to walk away when he hears something.

"How you doing?" Damon asks the doppelganger as they walk closer to the campsite.

"Fine," Elena says shortly.

"You know, I could help you," He replies, wanting her to get to safety as quickly as possible.

"No, thanks," She declines.

"Just one little swoosh," The cocky Vampire gestures, growing bored of walking.

"Yeah, with my luck, you'd drop me," Elena sasses back.

"What are you guys, 12?" Alaric jumps in, tired of their bickering, unaware that Stefan can see them walking towards them and tries to hurry back to the campsite to get Klaus away, but the Original arrives, and he tries to bring the Hybrid back, who doesn't budge.

"Where did he go?" Klaus inquires, looking at the Vampire.

"He, uh… he got away. Forget him. Let's go," Stefan replies, trying to get him away as quickly as possible, and Klaus sees his arm grabbing it.

"A fatal Werewolf bite. Ouch," He comments with a grin.

"Yeah. I'm gonna need your blood to heal me," The Ripper suggests.

"Well, I'll tell you what. You find Ray, and then I'll heal you," The Hybrid tells him.

"Can't be serious," Stefan blinks at him.

"You better hurry, 'cause that bite looks nasty," Klaus replies and walks back to the campsite.

Klaus arrives at the campsite to find that the others have woken up, and Lorilei puts her grimoire away, seeing the arrival of the Original. "Where's Stefan?" She asks. "Not that I overly care."

"He's grabbing Ray," He informs her, and she moves towards him.

"It seems they're a failure," Lorilei announces, taking his hand, seeing the anger and devastation. "We knew this could happen."

"I know, but it still hurts," The Original sulks, and she hugs him.

"We'll find out what's wrong with it soon enough," She promises him.

Carol walks around her dead husband's office, feeling nervous about what's happening and turns the lamp on his desk. "You put vervain in my coffee this morning. Why?" Tyler demands, standing in the doorway, alerting his mother.

"Vervain? What are you talking about?" She plays dumb.

"Let's skip the part where we pretend we don't know about the Vampires in the town. You were testing me to see if I was a Vampire. I want to know why," He tells her.

"You've been spending so much time with Caroline. I had to know for sure," The mayor reveals nervously.

"What does Caroline have to do with it?" The young Werewolf asks, stepping towards her.

"Let's skip the part where we pretend she's not one of them," Carol repeats his words back at him.

"Did you do something to her?" Tyler questions, stepping further towards his mother.

"Tyler, I don't want you to be with her," She warns him, pleading with him.

"Where is she, mom?" He asks her, wanting to find the blond Vampire.

"I can't let you be together," The woman argues, wanting to protect her son from the perky Vampire.

"What did you do to her? Where is she?" The wolf demands.

"You can't be with her. She's a monster," Carol tries to reason with him.

"You don't know about me, do you?" Tyler questions, looking at his mother.

"Know what? Know what, Tyler?" She inquires, frowning, and he can't help but laugh a little.

"We got about a mile left," Alaric announces as the party of three walks, trying to find the campsite.

"The sun's about to set," Damon adds, growing uncomfortable.

"I can see that, Damon," Elena remarks, walking at the back of the group.

"I'm just saying," He replies.

"The moon doesn't reach its apex for a while. We have time," She assures him, and they hear twigs snapping, and a bleeding Ray steps out, alerting them, and Alaric grabs his crossbow, aiming it at the dying Hybrid.

"Stay where you are," Alaric orders.

"Vampire," Ray mutters, looking at Damon before rushing over to him; the Vampire grabs him in a struggle, and the failed Hybrid gains the upper hand, pinning Damon to a tree, trying to bite him. Alaric fires an arrow into Ray's back, but he continues to attack Damon, and Elena quickly takes the wolfsbane grenade from her bag.

"Damon!" Elena shouts, throwing the grenade at the Vampire after pulling the pin, who catches it, holding it in the failed Hybrid's face as it explodes. Ray screams as his face burns from the toxic water, falling to the ground in pain and Damonkicks him in the stomach, rendering the failed Hybrid unconscious.

"Let me guess. Hybrid," Alaric states, looking at the unconscious Ray.

Matt enters the storage room at his house holding his sister's things; Jeremy and Alexis follow him inside. "So this is all her stuff. We were supposed to donate it, but, uh, you know," He says, looking at the many boxes.

"Well, everything I read said that personal items help build a stronger connection," Jeremy informs him, looking through some of the boxes and taking out one of her shirts; looking at her, Matt takes out a bong.

"Does her pipe count?" He jokes, putting it back and finds a photo of them when they were kids. "I don't know why I let you talk me into this, man."

"It's because she's your sister, and you have a chance to help her," The young Gilbert encourages him, but the blond quarterback backs out of it, placing the picture on a crate face down.

"I can't do this. You gotta go," Matt folds, and Alexis walks over to him.

"Matt, please," Jeremy begs, needing to find out what's happening.

"Nah, man. I can't do this, all right? You gotta go," He tells them, and Alexis drags the young Gilbert out of the room, and Matt contemplates for a second when he hears something behind him to see the photo frame standing upright.

Alexis and Jeremy walk away from Matt's house when the young Gilbert's phone rings, and he sees it's Jenna. "Hey, Jenna, what's wrong? Are you crying?"

"Is she okay?" Alexis asks, and he shakes his head.

"I need to go to your sister's apartment?" He replies, and she frowns but leads the way to the old bookshop.

Damon and Alaric tie the unconscious Ray to the tree using all the rope and chains they have on hand. "These ropes aren't gonna hold him much longer. What else do we have?" Damon questions and Elena wets some more ropes with vervain behind him.

"Ric, here. Take these," Elena tells him, handing over the ropes, but Damon grabs them, burning his skin, letting them go.

"Aah! Ow!" He cries out, shaking his hand.

"I said, Ric," She tells him, and Alaric takes them, putting them around the unconscious Ray.

"All right, that's the last of the vervain. We don't have enough stuff to hold him. I don't think we're gonna make that ridge before the full moon," Alaric informs them, stepping away from the failed Hybrid.

"If we can get him to talk, we don't have to," Elena suggests, stepping towards him and reaching out for him when he suddenly gasps, waking up, and Ray screams as he begins transformation, his bones breaking.

"Is he turning?" Damon frowns, watching.

"It's impossible. It's still daylight," The doppelganger argues in horror.

"Tell him that," Alaric says, and Damon steps towards the changing Ray, catching his shoulders and trying to keep him tied to the tree.

"There aren't supposed to be Werewolves out here until the moon is full," Elena snaps in terror.

"You know, those ropes aren't gonna hold the wolf," He warns the others as Ray withers, snarls and screams.

"Damon, we've got to get out of here. We gotta get out of these mountains now!" She orders, pushing the Vampire. "Damon, now!" Damon gives in, and they make a run for it, leaving behind the snarling Ray as he continues to transform.

Up on the ridge, it's grown darker, and Lorilei sticks to Klaus as she looks around at the Hybrid attempts that seem to be failing. "Bad news, my friend. End of the road for you," The Original Hybrid says to the only human in the campsite before drinking him dry and the woman in front of his steps towards the couple. "Careful, love. There's only one Alpha here." He looks around, seeing all the Werewolves' eyes are bleeding, and they seem to be moving around like zombies. "Bloody Hell."

"We need to end this," Lorilei tells him, seeing the heartbreak in his eyes and decides to take action, so she lights a flame in the palm of her hand before blowing it towards the wolves.

Jeremy races into Lorilei's apartment above the old bookshop to see Jenna sitting on the couch with her head in her hands. "Jenna!" He yells and rushes to her side, hugging her, and she clings to him. "What happened?"

Down in the mountains, Damon, Elena and Alaric run through the woods, trying to get away from the Werewolf hunting them, and Elena trips over something; she tries getting up. "Don't move," Damon warns her, and she raises her head to see she's face to face with the Werewolf, snarling at her. "Here, doggie, doggie." He runs using his Vampire speed, and the wolf trails behind him, leaving the humans alone in the woods.

"Come on. Let's keep moving," Alaric orders Elena.

"We can't leave Damon," Elena argues, wanting to help the Vampire.

"He can handle himself. Let's move," He demands, wanting to keep the doe-eyed teen safe.

"No. If he gets bit, he'll be dead. I'm the reason he's out here," The doppelganger objects, not budging an inch.

"I am the reason he's out here. I told him where we were, and I'm telling you to keep moving. Let's go. Elena, now," The history teacher orders her, and she complies, running off.

Tyler leads Carol into the old Lockwood cellar as the moon begins to reach its apex, and he closes the gate behind them. "Tyler, what is it? Just… Just tell me," She pleads with him.

"You need to see for yourself," He tells her, grabbing the chains and locking them to the ground.

"What are you doing?" Carol asks, watching him, growing scared.

"You think Caroline's a monster? I'm the monster, Mom," Tyler snaps, the change beginning to take effect.

"What?" The mother questions, holding onto herself as he grunts in pain as the transformation starts. "Tyler, what's happening?" The wolf pushes her into the cage, wanting to keep her safe and closes the door, locking it. "Tyler, what are you doing?"

"Me, Uncle Mason, it's in our blood. It's our family curse," The young wolf informs her, quickly locking the door.

"What curse?" Carol asks him in a panic as he chains himself, and the transformation grows worse. "Tyler, what's happening?! What's happening?" He looks up at her, fangs out, and his eyes turn yellow; she screams in horror, backing away. "Oh, my God! Ohh! No! Ohh!"

Damon walks through the trees, looking around carefully, when Ray suddenly rushes towards him in his human form; the two wrestle each other, and the Vampire tries avoiding getting bitten again as he tackles the Werewolf to the ground. Ray kicks him off and rushes at Damon, trying to bite him again, when Stefan comes up behind the failed Hybrid, ripping out his heart, killing him, and Damon throws his body to the ground. "Fancy meeting you here," The snarky Vampire remarks, looking at his younger brother.

"What part of "don't follow me anymore" got lost in translation, Damon?" Stefan questions, throwing the heart to the ground.

"Might want to take it up with your girlfriend," He replies, looking at the dead body. "You don't want her chasing you; I'd stop with the late-night phone calls."

"I didn't call her," The younger Salvatore lies.

"Sure you did. She's not gonna give up on you," Damon warns him, missing his brother.

"She has to. Because I'm never coming back. Why don't you get her home? See if you could keep her there this time," Stefan tells him, trying to keep them all safe from the Original Hybrid.

Elena and Alaric make it safely to the car while waiting for Damon to return. "Stefan's out there somewhere, and now Damon, and we're just sitting in this car?" Elena questions, growing frustrated and worried.

"Let the Vampires fight the Hybrid zombie mountain man. I'll take care of keeping the humans safe," Alaric reasons.

"I thought you were checked out of taking care of people," She wonders, looking at him.

"I know what you're doing. Don't. There doesn't need to be a lesson here," The Vampire Hunter tells her.

"You're better at it than you think, you know?" The doe-eyed girl assures him.

"Oh, boy, are you a sucker for a lost cause or what?" The day drunk jokes.

"You're not a lost cause, Ric. You're just lost. But so is everyone else. Our family is broken. We don't have many people. I'm sorry, but you don't have anyone, so… We're kind of right for each other." Elena tells him.

"I'm keeping the ring, then," Alaric replies, looking at the Gilbert ring on his finger, Damon walks towards the car, and the doppelganger notices him.

"Damon!" She shouts, getting out of the car, rushing over to him. "Are you okay? Did you…"

"Fine, bite-free. Get back in the car, please," Damon assures her, wanting to get her out of there quickly.

"Can you just give me a minute to appreciate that you're not dead?" Elena questions, and he grabs her, turning her around.

"I'll give you 10 seconds. 9, 8… Hey, Ric, did you happen to see where I parked my car?" He asks his friend and pushes her towards the car.

"Damon, stop being such a caveman," She snaps at him as he gets her into the car forcefully, and Stefan watches them as they get into the car, and Elena looks through the open window at the scenery and thinks she spots Stefan; but he's already gone.

Jeremy answers the door, having heard the doorbell and sees it's Matt at the front door. "I'm sorry about earlier," Matt apologises, and Alexis walks behind the young Gilbert, who looks at him.

"Hey, don't worry about it, man. You know, it's, uh… It's a lot to ask," Jeremy assures him, and the blond quarterback holds up some beer.

"Come on in," Alexis jokes and the younger teen lets him inside, moving into the kitchen, and Matt shows him a backpack.

"I spent the day going through her stuff. It was weird, you know, all the memories. I realise that most people didn't really get Vic. You know, they saw her as trouble and let it go at that. But you really got her. You know, you… you got her better than I did most of the time, so… I don't know what we're gonna do with all this, but… here," Matt explains and gives over the bag before grabbing a beer and handing it over to Alexis as Jeremy opens it taking out one of Vicki's shirts.

"You know, I don't remember her dying. I don't know if Caroline told you that when she told you everything," Jeremy comments, and Alexis gulps down her beer awkwardly.

"Nah, she didn't," He replies.

"Elena made them take that memory away from me that I couldn't handle it. So whatever my last moment was with her, I don't have it," The young Gilbert explains, and Aleixs offers him a beer,

"I don't either. I don't remember the last moment I had with Vicki before she was a Vampire… When she was still my sister," Matt grumbles, and Jeremy feels something; turning, Alexis feels it too, and they see Vicki standing behind them.

"Matty," Vicki smiles, looking at her brother, who can't see her.

"Do you see something? Is she here?" He asks the younger teen.

"You said you needed help. Tell me how I can help you, please," Jeremy pleads with her.

"I can come back. Help me come back," The ghost explains, tears running down the dead girl's face.

"What is she saying? Tell me," Matt begs and before Jeremy can say anything, a window breaks behind them, startling them, and he turns around to see Anna.

"Jeremy. Don't trust Vicki," Anna warns him, and he looks at Alexis, who nods, agreeing with the ghost.

Stefan comes back to the campsite carrying the dead body of Ray. He returns to see burned-dead bodies lying around the ground, with Lorilei and Klaus in the middle, the Original Hybrid seeming downhearted as he drinks another bottle of beer. "They went rabid. Some of them Lorilei killed. The others just… Bled out. In the end… They're all dead," Klaus explains, getting up and stepping towards Stefan, who holds his bitten arm. "I did everything I was told!" He shouts angrily, throwing the beer bottle that smashes on the ground, the shards nearly hitting Lorilei. "I should be able to turn them. I broke the curse. I killed a Werewolf. I killed a Vampire. I killed the doppelganger." Stefan and Lorilei look at each other uncomfortably for two different reasons. "You look like hell."

"Last I checked, I'm dying… And you don't want to heal me. I had to take him out. I didn't have a choice. I failed you. I'm sorry. Do what you have to do," Stefan says, looking down at the worsening bite.

"It should have worked," He grumbles and walks away; Lorilei stands, walking towards the Ripper.

"Such a pain. Give it here," Lorilei orders, taking Stefan's hand; the two men watch amazed as the Werewolf bite slowly heals.

"How?" Stefan questions, looking at his healed arm.

"Werewolf venom is magical. Anything magical, I can siphon," The Siphon explains, and Klaus looks at her.

"We're leaving. It appears you're the only comrades I have left," Klaus sulks and walks away, the Siphon running after him, and Stefan watches the couple walk away, wondering what will happen next.

After being dropped off by Alaric, Elena walks through the front door and sees the empty house. "Jeremy! Jenna!" She calls, but there's no answer, and she walks through the house, finding a note on the kitchen table. "What?!" She quickly grabs her phone, trying to call her aunt, but it goes straight to voicemail; she tries her brother, but the same happens, so she calls Alaric.

A little while later, Elena walks out of the bathroom into her bedroom to find Damon looking out the window. "Seriously?" Elean questions, looking at the older Salvatore.

"I was wrong," He announces, looking back at her.

"Are you drunk?" She asks him, making him frown.

"No. I thought Stefan was gone, but I was wrong," Damon corrects her.

"You saw him out there? Damon, is he okay?" The doppelganger fires questions at him.

"No, he's not okay, Elena. He's an insufferable martyr that needs his ass kicked… But he can be saved," The snarky Salvatore replies, thinking of his baby brother.

"What happened out there? You've changed your mind," Elena challenges, looking at him.

"I changed my mind because even in his darkest place, my brother still can't let me die. So I figure I owe him the same in return. I'll help you bring him back," Damon explains.

"Thank you," She says with a small smile.

"But before I do, I need you to answer one question. What made you change your mind?" He asks her.

"What do you mean?" The doe-eyed teen questions, feigning innocence.

"You were so hellbent on staying on that mountain, then you just gave up. So what changed your mind?" The older Salvatore challenges.

"We were under attack, Damon," Elena reasons.

"You had a bag full of weapons and a teacher with an eternity ring. You could have kept going," Damon retorts, seeing through her.

"It was too dangerous," She adds.

"It was too dangerous going out there, to begin with, so what was it?" He challenges her, hinting at something.

"Why are you being like this?" The doppelganger asks him, trying to avoid answering.

"What changed your mind, Elena?" The Vampire questions her back.

"I didn't want to see you get hurt, okay? I was… I was worried about you," Elena confesses.

"Thanks," Damon says before leaving, stepping around her, and walking towards the door.

"Yes, I worry about you. Why do you even have to hear me say it?" She inquires, and he stops, looking at her.

"Because when I drag my brother from the edge and deliver him back to you, I want you to remember the things you felt while he was gone," He warns her, stepping towards her, cupping her face for a long second as they look into each other's eyes. "Good night, Elena." Alaric comes upstairs with some of his luggage. "How' 's it going, Ric?" He passes the history teacher, who looks at the doppelganger.

"Know what you're doing there?" Alaric asks her, eluding to her relationship with Damon and him moving into his ex-girlfriend's room, seeing as she and Jeremy have moved out, leaving Elena all alone.

"No, I don't," Elena answers and walks out, leading him to Jenna's vacant room.

Morning comes, and Tyler wakes up naked from the rough full moon and looks to see his mother in the old Lockwood cellar, having been there to witness everything on the verge of tears. "I'll take care of it. I'll make sure nothing happens to her," She promises her son.

"Thank you," He replies, and gets up, letting his mother out of the cage.

"I think we made a mistake," Carol tells Bill on the phone, trying to get the man to stop for her son as she sits in her dead husband's office.

"Carol, you called me in to take care of this problem. Why the sudden change of heart?" Bill questions as he sits in his car.

"Maybe a guilty conscience," She lies.

"Don't feel guilty. They're not human. They're monsters," The Vampire Hunter assures her.

"What if we're wrong?" The mayor questions him, feeling immense guilt for letting this happen to Caroline.

"My family's been committed to this fight for almost 150 years, Carol. You married into it, so maybe you don't understand, but I do. I know what my obligations are," The Vampire Hunter retorts and ends the call.

"Wait," Carol says, but the line goes dead, and she throws her phone onto the desk, hanging her head in shame.

Caroline wakes up alone, chained to a chair in a stone room. "Hello! Mrs Lockwood?! Somebody!" She shouts, but there's no answer, and she hears someone coming down the stairs. "Who's that? Mrs Lockwood?! Please." Bill opens the door, entering the room to the shock of the blond Vampire.

"Hello, Caroline," Bill greets her.

"Daddy?" Caroline whispers in shock.

^A little over a week later, the Werewolf hunting trio made it slowly to Nashville, trying to find a Witch that would help them to find the answers on why Klaus' Hybrids are failing; they make it to Nashville where an old frienemy of Lorilei's lives. "Come on, Blaze, don't be so hypocritical. Last time we talked, you wanted a love potion for that guy that was in love with your ex-best friend. All I'm asking is what you know about the Original Witch," The Siphon interrogates a blond-haired woman tied to a chair in her apartment living room.

"I've heard what you're doing, Lorilei. I won't help you," Blaze sneers back at her, and Lorilei grows angry, grabbing her arms, painfully siphoning from the Witch, who screams in pain.

"Are you going to tell me now?" Lorilei inquires as the woman screams, trying to get loose from her zip ties.

"Never!" She shouts, and Stefan walks into the apartment, heading for the living room, having heard the screams.

"Kill her," The brunette Witch orders the Vampire, who looks at her in confusion, never having heard her ask him in the last few months they've been travelling together.

"Are you sure?" Stefan questions, and she looks at him.

"It's up to you. You kill her, or I do. I'll give you a choice," Lorilei tells him, and he moves toward the Witch hesitantly, and she waves her hand, killing the woman; Stefan looks at the dead Witch and then back at Lorilei in shock. "Don't need you feeling any more guilty than you already do."

"Thank you," He mutters, and she smiles at him.

"Us monsters have to stick together. Plus, I don't want any blood on my new shirt; it cost a fortune," The McKnight Witch jokes, gesturing to her leaf print black and coloured shirt that goes with her black trousers, but her smile turns into a frown as she feels a slight painful cramp in her stomach. She holds onto her belly in discomfort, her trilby hat falling to the floor, and Stefan steps towards her in worry.

"You okay?" The younger Salvatore asks in concern, and she nods, feeling the pain fade away.

"Yeah, come on, Klaus must be bored waiting for us," Lorilei assures him, and she picks up her hat before they leave the apartment.

Lorilei sits eating breakfast the next day with Klaus when another cramp suddenly appears, and she hunches over in pain, alerting the Hybrid, who races to her side and looks down at her white and black striped trousers to see blood spreading down her legs. "Lorilei? Lorilei?!" The Hybrid shouts as she becomes dizzy and nauseous.

"Oh God," She mutters as she faints into arms, and people begin to notice, panicking.

"I've called an ambulance," The woman beside them assures the Original.

Klaus and Stefan sit in the waiting room in the local hospital; the Original Hybrid fidgets nervously when a doctor walks over to them. "Lorilei McKnight?" He calls, and Klaus stands, walking over to the doctor. Stefan stays sitting, letting the Hybrid talk privately with the doctor, but from what he can tell, it seems like bad news. Klaus storms past the doctor, and Stefan follows him, walking through the hallways and coming to a private room; they see Lorilei lying in a hospital bed with a mask over her face through the window. "She just came out of surgery, so she may be a little groggy once she wakes up," The doctor explains after catching up to them.

"What happened?" Stefan asks, thinking about the day before when she seemed in pain.

"She had an ectopic pregnancy," He explains, and the Vampires look into the room again.

"Will she be okay?" Klaus asks him, his voice small, which unnerves the Ripper.

"She will be," The doctor assures them. "You can go in till she wakes up."

"Thank you," Stefan says, and Klaus slowly walks into the room, sitting next to Lorilei's bed.

"Get yourself a room for a few more days and keep our things there," Klaus instructs him.

"Are you staying here?" He questions, surprised.

"I'm surprised you never noticed," The Original comments.

"That you two were together. Heard you one night," The Ripper adds and sits in the chair beside him. "She'll be okay. She's strong."

"I know. Grab some things for her for the next few days," Klaus demands, needing to be alone with her for now.

A few hours later, Lorilei wakes up, feeling groggy from the surgery and feeling something holding her hand; she looks to see a sleeping Klaus holding her hand as he rests his head on the bed. "This is new," She mutters, taking off her mask, and Stefan steps into the room with a bag of her things.

"Hey, you're awake," He greets her, and she smiles, waving at him. "How are you feeling?"

"Better. Not that I'm not used to it," Lorilei grumbles, and Klaus wakes up, hearing her. "This is my 3rd miscarriage."

"3rd?" Klaus asks her, looking at the Siphon, moving some hair away from her face.

"Your not the only one mummy dearest cursed," She reveals with a sad smile.

"I'm sorry," Stefan says, moving to the other side of the bed.

"I've come to terms with it. I've tried finding a way, but no Witch will help me undo it on account of be being a Siphon," Lorilei explains.

"We'll find a way," He announces, and she looks at him surprised. "Us monsters have to stick together." ^

Klaus carefully helps Lorilei into the car once she's discharged from the hospital a few days later, and Stefan puts her things into the boot with the rest of the bags as they begin their hunt for a Witch to help Klaus figure out how to make Hybrids and break Lorilei's curse. "I know of a Warlock in Kansas City, he specialises in fertility spells and potions," Klaus suggests and looks at her, helping put her seat belt.

"Okay," She agrees and looks at her black leggings and a grey hoodie. "I didn't know I owned clothes like this."

"I found them at the bottom of your bag," Stefan informs her, and she smiles.

"Thanks," The Siphon smiles at him, and they begin their drive to Kansas City.

Two weeks fly by for the trio of monsters as they search for a Witch or Warlock to help them, but the only thing Lorilei found was a potion that would stop her from getting pregnant again, even if it was for a short time. They are in Portland, Oregon, outside an empty field that supposedly houses the Parker family. Lorilei must find a specific spell for future use should the opportunity ever happen again. The Siphon looks at Klaus, still unsure if she should tell him that she is carrying his child, but fears the backlash of his anger and denial and continues her silence for now. "What are we doing here?" Stefan asks from the backseat, missing being in the front from when Lorilei was released; they treated her like a china doll.

"I need to steal a spell from them," Lorilei answers and opens the door, walking towards the house. Then she disappears, surprising the men, who wait patiently for her.

"What kind of spell is it?" He asks, looking at the Original Hybrid, who shrugs, being as in the dark as him.

"I have no idea, mate," Klaus answers, trying to at least hear Lorilei, but whatever spell is making the house and Lorilei invisible, he also can not hear a thing.

"Drive!" Lorilei shouts as she runs out of the house towards the car, and the Original Hybrid quickly turns on the car as she jumps into the passenger seat; he drives away as a man storms out of nowhere towards the vehicle.

"Who was that?" Stefan demands as he looks back.

"That was the coven leader. He doesn't like my kind of Witch," She explains as she buckles herself in.

"What spell did you need?" He asks her, and she goes a little quiet.

"Personal," The Siphon replies. "It's one they created for in case of emergency." She looks at Klaus, who drives. "We should head for Spokane next."

"And why is that?" Klaus asks her, glancing at her.

"Because Maddox called me last night. An old college friend of ours phoned the society, which got routed to my apartment in Mystic Falls. And he so who just so happens to be a Werewolf," She informs them. "The reason he called was because he heard a rumour of someone making Hybrids."

"Oh, another pack that hates the idea?" He questions, feeling annoyed at her for bringing it up.

"Actually, no. He talked to his pack, and there's a few of them that liked the idea," Lorilei corrects him with a smug look.

"Really?" Klaus perks up and turns the car, heading for Spokane.

"Yep. Only a few, mind you. Leo only has a few in his pack, and only half want to change," The brunette woman warns him.

"Why?" Stefan asks, intrigued.

"They have kids in the pack. The younger ones are still human, but a few are too young to be turned into Hybrids, though they do want to once they're old enough. And some like being a wolf for some reason," The Siphon explains. "You have to be okay with them not wanting to turn."

"I think any Hybrids are better than none," Klaus assures her, and she smiles.

A few days later, Klaus walks into a small restaurant and finds Leo, the Alpha of the pack in Spokane and sits across from him, looking at the man. "Hello, Leo," The Hybrid greets him, and the sandy blond man looks up, smiling friendly at him, which surprises the Original.

"You must be Klaus. Lorilei said she would be here too," Leo wonders, looking around for his old college friend.

"She'll be here soon," He assures the Werewolf, and Lorilei walks inside, joining them. "Speak of the lady."

"Hey, Leo," Lorilei greets him, hugging him quickly before sitting next to Klaus, taking off her floral kimono cardigan and revealing her black ripped jeans and top.

"It's good to see you after so long. Mia misses you," The Alpha comments, and he looks at the Hybrid. "She found Mia for two of our pack members a few years ago."

"She was an orphan. I learned her parents were Werewolves. At the time, I didn't know any other packs, so I took her to Leo and his pack, and she fell in love with Derek and Robert, who fell in love with her." She explains. "How is she?"

"She's good. She was so excited to learn she'd be seeing you again," Leo replies, looking at the Hybrid. "Everyone's happy to hear about not having to turn every full moon. Maggie hates seeing her girls in so much pain. They began to turn last year. Sara's ex-boyfriend attacked her; they defended themselves and accidentally killed him."

"This is amazing!" Maggie keeps yelling as she hugs Klaus, the rest of the pack watching happily. "The girls won't have to turn anymore. You wouldn't believe how painful it is to watch your child suffer."

"Maggie, we've already talked about it over with Klaus. We've come up with some ground rules for the better of the pack. I'm sorry, Maggie, but the girls won't be turned until they're 18." Leo informs her, and she begins to cry. "I'm so sorry, Maggie. But they're only 16."

"To be turned at that age, it isn't fair to them," Klaus jumps in, defending Leo.

"I see. But you promise you'll turn them?" She asks, pleading with the Original.

"We will, Maggie. Once we've found the answer to why the turn is going wrong," Lorilei assures her.

"What do you mean?" Robert asks, stepping towards them, holding Mia.

"It seems something is going wrong with Klaus turning Hybrids. They all failed. We're trying to find out what's wrong, but once we do. We'll turn whoever wants to become a Hybrid," She explains, taking Mia into her arms as the young girl begs to be held by the Siphon.

"We'll help you," Sara volunteers, looking at her twin sister.

"Yeah," Beth agrees.

"Looks like you have a Pack now, Klaus," Leo smiles at the Hybrid, who quickly wipes away the tears.

"I'll start contacting some contractors to build you guys somewhere to live. Though I'm not sure where exactly," Lorilei announces and looks at Klaus and Stefan.

"I think Mystic Falls," Stefan says, and she looks at him in surprise.

"Are you sure?" She questions, and he nods. "Mystic Falls it is."
