The Reckoning

The night before the new school year begins, Matt trains in the weight room in the empty building, or so he thinks, when he hears a noise that makes him stop and get up from the weight bench. He walks through the dark, creepy hallways, finally comes to a classroom, and carefully opens the door, setting off more noise. He switches on the light to see a lot of mouse traps at his feet and looks up to see his friends, Tyler, Caroline, Elena and Bonnie, sitting around the room. "Ohh! Oh, come on! Seriously?!" Caroline complains, throwing her arms in the air in exasperation. "Do you know how long it took for us to set all this up?!"

"Forget about senior prank night, huh?" Tyler asks his best friend, rolling his eyes.

"Clearly," Matt replies, his heartbeat growing slower now that he knows he's not in a horror movie.

"How could you forget?" Caroline exclaims, looking at her boyfriend and ex-boyfriend in disbelief.

"Yeah, Matt. If I'm doing this, you're doing this," Elena tells him, rolling her eyes at the overexcited blond Vampire.

"I'm kind of surprised any of you are doing this," Matt replies, looking at his friends and thinking about their troubling summer.

"Caroline's making us," Bonnie answers simply, smiling at her bubbly blond friend.

"We're about to be seniors," Caroline argues. "These are the memories that stay with us forever, and if we don't…"

"And if you don't create these memories now, then what's the point of it all?" Elena finishes, having heard this before.

"Go ahead and make fun; I don't care," She replies, smiling. It hurts a little, though she knows it's only light teasing.

"You're all lame. And I've got ten more classrooms to prank," Tyler announces, jumping from the table and taking his bag before leaving, and Elena decides to join him in leaving the classroom.

"Hey! Where are you going?" The blond Vampire questions, looking at her friend as she walks to the classroom door.

"To superglue Alaric's desk shut. I'm making memories," Elena replies with a cheeky grin.

"I love you!" Caroline shouts after her with a bright smile as Elena walks outside to see Tyler with other students to give them instructions to cover the whole school.

"Get the faculty toilet seats, and Dana needs bodies in the gym. Let's go," Tyler instructs, giving them some equipment to help; Elena watches and can't help but laugh before heading down the hallway, opening a set of double doors and coming face to face with Klaus.

"There's my girl," Klaus smirks, making Lorilei scoff, still feeling the brunt of his anger for lying to him.

"Klaus!" Elena gasps, spotting the Siphon. "Lorilei!" She looks at the dark-haired woman dressed in all black and dark red lips.

"You're supposed to be dead. What are we going to do about that?" Klaus wonders, though he knows what they have to do.

"You know what you're going to do." Lorilei rolls her eyes at her boyfriend, though she isn't sure if they are even boyfriend and girlfriend anymore, and she's been too scared to ask since the big reveal.

Damon and Katherine are in his car as they drive out of Mystic Falls, trying to stop Klaus, though the older Brother isn't enjoying his ex-lover's company. "Are you hungry?" Katherine asks him. "Let's stop for a bite. A truck stop. Or a trucker."

"Oh, stop being cute," Damon warns her, growing bored of her talking already with only being on the road for a day.

"It's not possible," She replies with a flirty smile.

"We've been driving around aimlessly for hours. Where are we going?" He asks her, growing restless.

"Far enough away so that you can't go running back," The Vampire ex-lover tells him.

"Not to worry. Mystic Falls and I are on a bit of a break," The older Salvatore Brother assures her.

"You and Mystic Falls, or you and Elena?" Katherine questions, looking at him, already knowing the answer.

"Let's just say Elena and I are having a bit of a difference of opinion on how I should behave," Damon replies, needing away from the human girl, who has him wrapped around her finger.

"Ooh. Let me guess…" She teases him. "Elena wants you to be the hero, and you don't like playing pretend."

"Something like that," He replies, frowning.

"Her loss," The Vampire Doppelganger tells him, trying to lift his spirits in some sense, and kisses him, but he finally pushes her away, back onto her seat. "What are you doing?"

"I thought I'd give it a shot. Truth is, you just don't do it for me anymore," The younger Vampire responds, though he isn't sure how true or false that is anymore.

Stefan sits in the car as they wait outside the school with Rebekah next to him, waiting a little while before heading inside after Klaus and Lorilei. "Why did you lie?" Rebekah breaks the silence.

"I wanted to protect my friends and Damon, but mostly Elena," Stefan confesses, shifting in his seat a little.

"I see. Did you kill Gloria to hide your secret?" She asks another question.

"No. Lorilei killed her to protect me," He answers, surprising her. "We're friends, I guess."

"I see. So you don't have any romantic feelings toward her?" The blond Original questions, making him laugh.

"No. Your Brother and Lorilei are together," The Ripper replies, smiling at his ex-lover.

"Yeah. See, she could do so much better than my Brother." Rebekah remarks. "Why him?"

"Us monsters have to stick together," Stefan says, making her look at him in confusion. "She said that to me after she killed this Witch that I was going to kill, but she asked me first if I wanted to."

"I see. Your bloodlust, too, it's calmer than I remember. Almost normal." She comments, making Stefan think about it.

"She gives me this," He shows her the packet of mixed herbs.

"What are they?" The Original asks him, inspecting the bag.

"I think she said there is lavender, chamomile, ginseng, St. John wort and passion flower." The younger Vampire lists and puts the bag back into his pocket. "I take a pinch in my tea every day."

"It seems to work well for you," Rebekah smiles. "How does it work?"

"I'm not too sure, but after the first failed Hybrids, Lorilei took me to a friend of hers in Charlotte. She's a Psychiatrist." Stefan explains. "She suggested I take this for six weeks."

"Interesting. I'm glad it's working for you." She smiles.

"Thanks. I feel more like my old self again." He smiles, not so glum, and takes out the part where he talks to Lorilei's friend over the phone once a week for a therapy session. "Ready to go?" He asks her, opening the car door.

"Yep." The blond Original replies, opening her side door, and they head towards the high school.

Klaus drags Elena through the school with Lorilei behind them, giving the Hybrid some space, even if they are somewhat working it out. "You put a rather large kink in my plans, sweetheart," Klaus comments. "The whole point of breaking the curse and becoming a Hybrid was to make more Hybrids. Our Pack is not too happy about this," Lorilei looks up at him in surprise. "We haven't been able to do that. Now our bet is, it has something to do with the fact that you're still breathing."

"If you're going to kill me, just do it!" Elena replies, trying to put on a brave face, but they can see her shaking a little.

"Not until we know we're right. But we do have ways of making you suffer," The Original Hybrid tells her, entering the gym to see more students inside, setting up pranks.

"God, I hate senior prank night." Lorilei mumbles in disgust, remembering some of the pranks set off just for her. Like her locker full of acid that ruined all her homework, she got a week's worth of detention.

"I keep forgetting you were from Mystic Falls," The Original Hybrid replies, looking at his girlfriend, still feeling the slight betrayal, but he understands a little as to why she did it. "Attention, seniors," He says in a terrible American accent, making Lorilei snigger a little at his failed attempt. "You have officially been busted. Prank night is over. Head on home." The Hybrid spots two familiar faces and stops them. "You two. I remember you," He says to Dana and Chad, who look at Klaus in confusion.

"I'm sorry. Who are you?" Dana asks him, looking at the new face.

"Oh, don't worry, I wasn't in my right head last time we met," Klaus assures her, tightly gripping Elena's arm. "Lift your foot up, please, Dana." He compels the girl, who complies, and he turns to the boy. "If she drops her foot, Chad, I want you to beat her to death. Understood?" He compels the boy.

"Don't, Klaus. You don't have to hurt anybody," Elena pleads to him, but it falls on deaf ears.

"Come on, dearie, of course he does. He's the Big Bad Hybrid." Lorilei replies, taking her into her arms, making the younger brunette struggle in her grip, but she doesn't let go. "I wouldn't if I was you." She warns the girl. "I will hex you and your future descendants."

Damon has had enough of driving around at night with Katherine and stops his car, getting out, followed by the older Vampire. "Why are we stopping?" Katherine demands, stomping toward him.

"I thought we might want to stretch our legs. Take a break from the sexual tension. I'm tired of driving. It's your turn," Damon replies, not looking at her.

"Fine," She snaps, and he tosses the keys into the bushes. "Hey! I…"

"We're not going anywhere until you spill your guts," He warns her, growing tired of her half-truths.

"Fine," The Vampiric Doppelganger grumbles, getting annoyed at the man's childish behaviour. She takes something out of her pocket and shows it to him. He recognises it as Elena's necklace. "Do you recognise this, hmm?" She teases him. "A little birdy told me that Klaus wants to get his hands on it."

"Why would Klaus want Elena's necklace?" The older Salvatore Brother wonders, looking at the conniving woman.

"Does it matter? He wants it, and I have it. It's leverage, Damon." Katherine reminds him. "Always stay one step ahead of your enemy."

"I'll keep that in mind," Damon replies snarkily.

"But more importantly, when I stole the necklace from Bonnie, I found out someone else… Something better." She informs him, smirking like the Cheshire cat.

"Oh, yeah? What's that?" He questions, looking at her intrigued.

"Are you willing to do whatever it takes to stop Klaus? No turning back?" Katerina asks him, knowing he will do anything for the sweet, innocent Elena.

"I'm not turning back," The younger Vampire argues, needing space from Elena and the others.

"Good. 'Cause this isn't going to win you any points at home," She warns him, moving to the trunk of the car and opening it with an unconscious Jeremy inside. Damon peaks to see the unconscious young Gilbert boy and cringes internally before looking at his ex-lover.

"Jeremy? Really?" Damon questions, looking at her, thinking about how much trouble he will be in for it if Elena finds out.

Caroline and Tyler stand in the hallway alone, needing some time away from the others while pulling more pranks and putting honey into lockers when Tyler kisses her. "Do you think Matt's going to be okay?" She interrupts the moment.

"I'm kissing you, and you're wondering about your ex-boyfriend?" Tyler questions but likes that she's such a caring and kind person and knows she feels a little guilty about how she and Matt ended before the summer.

"I'm asking you if you think our friend, who we both love, is okay?" Caroline responds with a little attitude.

"I think he probably doesn't have a lot of people to talk to anymore." He reasons, trying to assure her. "I think he's struggling more than he lets on. I think that I love how big your heart is." That statement makes her smile lovingly at her boyfriend.

"I just want this school year to be great, you know?" She tells him. "I just want everyone to be happy. Even in the midst of all the crazy unhappy bits."

"I'm happy," The Werewolf replies, leaning in for another kiss when Rebekah arrives.

"You two are adorable," Rebekah remarks, walking over to them and making the couple stare at the new face.

"Uh, do we know you?" Caroline asks her, looking at the taller blond Vampire.

"You're Caroline, Elena's friend, which makes you Tyler. The Werewolf," She comments, pointing at them.

"And who are you?" The young blond Vampire questions, glancing at her.

"I'm the new girl," The Original Vampire replies, and Caroline suddenly falls to the ground, making both Rebekah and Tyler stare at the young blond teenager.

"Caroline!" Tyler exclaims, looking at his girlfriend in shock as she lies on the floor, then up again to see Greta lowering her hands.

"I'm glad Lorilei called," Greta remarks with a grin, not wanting to miss out.

Alexis and Edward sit at home with Jenna, wondering where Jeremy is as he hasn't been home all day or most of yesterday. The Aunt panics over losing her Nephew in a town practically overrun with Supernatural beings, and the twins try to find him over a map of the area and a few drops of the woman's blood. "We found him; he's stopped," Edward announces, making the woman jump to her feet and grab her car keys.

"I'm coming with you," Alexis says, walking out to the car with the older woman on their way to find Jeremy.

"I will stay here," He mutters to himself as he sits alone when his phone pings and looks to see a text message from Luca, letting him know that Lorilei and the others are back in Mystic Falls, so he grabs his jacket and races out of the house, needing to see his older Sister.

Bonnie and Matt are in the swimming pool, putting toilet paper around the room. "This is fun, right?" She asks her friend, trying to get his mind off of everything and hers too.

"You sound like Caroline," He remarks, teasing her a little.

"Come on, I am embracing her philosophy. You should be more into this," Bonnie tells him, trying to cheer the human up.

"I know. Where's Jeremy tonight?" Matt asks, changing the subject.

"I haven't talked to him all day. We're having, um… He, uh, he told me about seeing Vicki," The young Witch replies, seeing the look on his face.

"Ohh. Good, I'm glad that you know," The blond teen human shifts, growing uncomfortable.

"I'm sorry." She sighs, seeing the sadness in his eyes at mentioning his Sister. "Is it weird talking about your Sister like this?"

"No, I… I just kind of want to see her myself, you know? I mean, I never got to say goodbye to her," He replies, exhaling deeply, thinking of his Sister. "Do you realise that just last summer, you and I were lifeguards at the pool? And the only two problems I had in my life were that Elena was breaking up with me and I sucked at CPR."

"Everything was so different then," Bonnie agrees, thinking about the time before she knew she was a Witch.

"Yeah. Now Elena's dating a Vampire, you're a Witch, my Sister's a ghost, and… I'm… I'm just a guy who's wondering how life got so screwed up." Matt replies, trying to sort his mind with everything that has happened over the last year.

"It's crazy, Matt. I… I can't imagine what it must be like for you," She sympathises with him a little, missing her Grandmother.

"It just, uh, kind of explains why I'm not that into senior prank night." The blond quarterback retorts, sighing. "I'll go grab a couple more rolls. Then we hit the gym." He walks out, heading for the bathroom

Matt hunts in the men's room for more paper rolls in the cubicles, and one of the doors opens by itself next to him; he looks inside to see some graffiti on the wall behind the toilet. He reads 'R.I.P. Vicki', and the door closes with Vicki behind him. "I'm here, Matt. I can help you." Vicki says, but he can't hear her because she is a ghost.

Dana is still on one foot in the school gym while lifting the other, straining herself. "Keep it up," Klaus encourages the teenager as Chad stands beside her.

"Where's Stefan? What did you do to him?" Elena demands, making the Supernatural beings glance at each other.

"Stefan's doing something important right now," Lorilei answers, surprising the Doppelganger when suddenly the door opens and Bonnie and Matt enter.

"Bonnie, get out of here!" She shouts, alerting the young Witch and forgetting her ex-boyfriend.

"Ah, I was wondering when you'd show up. Now we can get started," Klaus claps his hands before glancing at Dana. "Ah, Dana, why don't you relax? You and Chad sit tight." He turns back to Bonnie. "I assume you're the reason Elena's still walking around alive?"

"No." Bonnie answers, making the Siphon smirk.

"Least she's honest." He muses, turning to his girlfriend, already knowing it was her because of her little confession.

"Hmm. Can't fault Bennett Witches for that," Lorilei muses, looking at the young Witch. "And they can't help but get their noses stuck into other people's problems and want to save the day." Just in time, Rebekah and Stefan slam open the gym doors, making everyone stare at them as they come closer with a struggling Tyler in their arms.

"Get off of me!" Tyler shouts, trying to rip his arms from the two Vampires with a firm grip on him.

"Hush now," Rebekah orders him.

"I'd like you all to meet my Sister, Rebekah. Word of the warning… She can be quite mean," Klaus warns everyone, being the protective older Brother as the two Vampires pass them with the struggling Werewolf. What surprises the Witch, Human and Doppelganger is Stefan is back in town and seems to be on the wrong side.

"Don't be an ass," Rebekah and Lorilei reply, and the blond Original throws Tyler into Klaus' arms.

"Leave him alone!" Elena plucks up the courage to shout, avoiding Stefan as he stands near Lorilei.

"I'm going to make this very simple…" Klaus concludes, ignoring the Doppelganger. "Every time we attempt to turn a Werewolf into a Vampire Hybrid, they die during the transition. It's quite horrible, actually." He bites into his wrist and forces Tyler to drink his blood. "I need you to find a way to save my Hybrids, Bonnie. And for Tyler's sake… You better hurry." He quickly snaps the young Werewolf's neck, sending him to the floor as his friends watch in shock.

"I think that went well," Stefan comments, shocking his former friends, and Klaus can't help but smile at his old friend.

"He killed him," Matt mutters, moving forward the body of his best friend on the gym floor as Dana and Chad sit on the floor, fearing for their lives.

"He's not dead." Elena corrects him. "Klaus' blood will turn him into a Vampire."

"And if Bonnie's successful, he'll live through his transition. Go on, then," Klaus tells the young Bennett Witch. "Go and fetch your Grimoires and enchantments and whatnot. We'll hold on to Elena… For safe-keeping." Stefan moves closer to Elena, making her feel safe, and she gives Bonnie a reassuring nod, letting her not feel guilty as she leaves with Matt. Once the Witch and Human exit the gym, Rebekah turns her attention to Elena, looking at the young Doppelganger with distaste.

"So, this is the latest Doppelganger. The original one was much prettier," Rebekah remarks, eyeing Elena.

"I'm sure she was," Lorilei muses, glancing at Klaus, and it makes him wonder what his older Brother told her about their past.

"Enough, Rebekah. Take the wolf boy elsewhere, would you?" Klaus orders her, earning a glare from his little Sister, and she drags the dead Werewolf by his foot along the wooden floor, not caring if he gets a splinter to the face.

"Just ignore her," Klaus jokes, turning to Elena. "Petty little thing."

"Not the only one," Lorilei mutters, rolling her eyes, earning a look from the Original Hybrid.

Matt and Bonnie rush through the school corridors, needing to get as far away from the Vampires and Siphon as possible before they can think of what to do next. "What are you going to do?" Matt asks her, coming to a stop, thinking they're a reasonable distance away.

"I have no idea," Bonnie answers truthfully. "The curse he's talking about is a thousand years old. My Grimories don't go back that far."

"Can you ask those dead Witches that helped you before?" He wonders, keeping in step with her.

"I don't have contact with them anymore… They cut me off when I brought Jeremy back to life." She replies, and then an idea comes to mind. A bad idea. "That's it! I can't contact the dead. Jeremy can."

Katherine and Damon sit in the car in silence, still in the middle of nowhere, with an unconscious Jeremy still at the back of the truck. "I'm listening," Damon breaks the silence.

"What if I told you there was a way to kill Klaus? And not Dagger dead. Dead, dead." Katherine informs him, surprising the young Vampire.

"I'd say you were desperate and lying," He retorts. "Or desperate, lying and drunk."

"Do you remember my friend Pearl?" She asks him.

"Vividly," The older Salvatore Brother replies, cringing on the inside, remembering the older Vampire that stabbed him in the eyes once.

"Centuries ago, she told me about a Vampire who knew how to kill Klaus. Then she wouldn't tell me any more," The older Vampire informs him.

"Well, why not?" Damon questions, frowning, thinking the two were close, but remembers it is Katherine.

"Because it was her leverage. She knew it was valuable information and wouldn't share it with me." Katherine explains, making herself appear even colder than ever.

"Well, this is all great… but she's dead," He reminds her, not beating about the bush with it.

"Which is why I never brought it up," She retorts, huffing a little as she explains her devious plan. "Because she only told one other person."

"Who?" The young Vampire questions, nothing thinking with his big brain.

"Her Daughter. Anna," The older Vampire answers.

"Also dead," Damon replies without hesitance.

"Which brings us right back around to…" Katherine says, and with perfect timing, Jeremy gasps awake.

"To me. Back around to me," Jeremy answers, making the Vampires look at him.

Elena moves away from the Supernatural trio and goes to calm Dana down, stroking her hair as the human cries silently. "Stefan…" Elena whispers, looking at him, trying to find an idea if he is really with Klaus and Lorilei or her.

"Klaus," Stefan says, breaking the silence and surprising the Doppelganger.

"She giving you grief? Or is it the pouty stare?" Lorilei asks, moving to stand by her friend.

"Both?" He replies, making Elena's jaw drop.

"Want to stay here or cause some trouble?" She questions, looking at him. "Klaus has it handled for now. Bonnie's got her little chore. Want to go hunting?"

"Sounds like fun, but who's going to help look after the blood bags?" The younger Salvatore Brother wonders.

"I'll keep an eye out," Edward offers, stepping into the gym with Greta. "I mean we will." He points to him and Greta, who rolls her eyes.

"I thought you hated your Sister?" Elena questions, standing up and moving towards them. Klaus grows annoyed with her, smacking the Doppelganger so hard she goes flying, skidding across the floor. Stefan doesn't move an inch, though he stiffens, surprising everyone, but they see how loyal he is to his new friends.

"Interesting. Go cause havoc," Klaus dismisses them as Greta moves to his side with Edward in tow as Stefan and Lorilei exit the gym, leaving Elena to Klaus' devices.

"I see what my Sister sees in you now. You let her walk all over you," Edward muses, getting a mean glare from the Original Hybrid. "Did I say that out loud?"

"Yes," Greta and Klaus say together.

"Sorry. I get my mouth from Lei apparently from my very dead Uncle." He replies, letting his gob run wild.

"Look who's closing the shop for the next few weeks," Greta announces, making the young Warlock look at her in horror.

"You can't do that!" He shrieks in horror. "Maddox does the routers. Just because you're sleeping with him doesn't make you in charge!"

"It kinda does," She argues, and Edward looks ready to run after his Big Sister.

"Does not. My Sister is in charge. I will tell her right now about how cruel you are to me." The young Warlock argues, wishing his Sisters were there with him now to help him. "I want my Sisters." He grumbles to himself, folding his arms in defiance.

"Was it nice seeing Elena again?" Lorilei asks Stefan as they walk the school hallway, wondering where they are going.

"Not really," Stefan answers truthfully. "I don't feel that thing I did before. Now I just think back and remember a copy of Katherine in the works." He stops, leaning against the lockers, remembering his relationship with the human Doppelganger.

"Oh God. That's my old locker," She changes the subject, moving the Vampire out of the way, waving her hand, unlocking it. "The acid stains are still there."

"Acid stains?" He questions, looking, seeing it's Jeremy's locker. "That's Jeremy's locker."

"This isn't going to work," Jeremy denies, sitting on the back of the truck in front of Damon and Katherine when a phone vibrates in her pocket, and she gets it out to see it's from Bonnie.

"I think your Witchy girlfriend's worried that you've run away with your Ghostly lover." Katherine teases him, pocketing the phone again.

"Stop with the teeny-bopper drama. Focus," Damon snaps, growing frustrated and worried for everyone back in Mystic Falls. Jeremy gets fed up and closes his eyes, focusing on Anna, and she appears near the truck, looking at everyone.

"I'm not helping them," Anna argues straight away, knowing what they want and how dangerous it is.

"No, it's okay to help," Jeremy assures her, making the Vampires look at each other as they can't see Anna's ghost. "They're looking for a way to stop Klaus."

"I don't care," She stands firm. "Katherine is not a friend to you. Neither of them are." She warns him.

"What's she saying?" Damon asks, looking at the youngest Gilbert sibling, growing annoyed.

"Well, she doesn't want to help you," Jeremy confesses.

"My advice?" Katherine whispers to Damon. "If you want to make an omelette, you have to break a few eggs." Taking her advice, Damon gets closer to Jeremy, trying to come across as approachable as he's still trying to get on Elena's good side.

"Jeremy, I just want you to know it's nothing personal," Damon warns him, taking Jeremy by the head and hitting him against the truck.

"Ow! What the hell?!" Jeremy shouts, holding his head in pain and feeling a trickle of blood coming from his forehead.

"Jeremy!" Anna shouts in fear, not being able to do anything to help him fight against the two vampires.

"Anna, I know you can hear me. Tell us what you know. The sooner, the -." Damon threatens her when something fast knocks into him, sending him flying away from the Human. Katherine looks in shock, seeing the black 1969 Corvette skidding to a stop, blocking her from attacking the young Gilbert boy.

"Get the hell away from my Nephew," Jenna shouts, getting out of the car. She's glad she can borrow Lorilei's car while she's gone. Alexis jumps out of the passenger seat and runs to Jeremy's side; seeing the blood, she takes off her hoodie, using it to stop the bleeding.

"Jeremy?" Alexis mutters, looking at him. "Are you okay?" Anna looks at the young Witch, seeing how she looks at the young Gilbert boy and disappears again.

"Yeah. I think so," Jeremy replies, holding onto the hoodie over Alexis' hand. Jenna walks over, looking at her Nephew after scaring Katherine away with a warning from Klaus, thanks to Greta and Edward texting her.

"Let's get you home," Jenna suggests, helping Jeremy to his wobbly feet to the car.

"Who's car is this?" He asks, getting into the backseat with a little thud.

"Lorilei's. She left it at the house," She answers, getting into the driver's seat and starting the car. Anna appears again, thinking about what Damon and Katherine want and must warn Jeremy about.

"Jeremy. Be careful. Damon and Katherine want to wake Mikael. He's a Vampire who hunts Vampires. He's dangerous." Anna warns him before disappearing again.

"What did she say?" Alexis asks as the car peels off the side of the road, heading back for Mystic Falls.

"I keep forgetting you can sense Ghosts," Jeremy chuckles and groans, feeling more pain, making her turn around to check on him. "She said they were trying to wake someone dangerous up."

"Mikael," She mutters, making him stare at him.

"Who's Mikael?" Jenna asks, looking at the young Witch.

"How did you know?" Jeremy asks her at the same time.

"He's the destruction of all Vampires," The young McKnight girl answers in fear, knowing what could happen to the rest of the world. Unaware, they were still in range of the two Vampire kidnappers, and they heard everything.

Back at the school, Caroline wakes up, finding herself still by the lockers, lying on the floor with Rebekah sitting with her on the younger blond Vampire's phone, still fascinated with the new technology. However, Stefan and Lorilei, along with some of the younger members of the Pack, were helping to keep her up to date with the new things in the world and what's happened since she was Daggered. "We didn't have mobile telephones in my day. Would have made life a whole lot easier, I suppose," Rebekan comments, taking a picture of herself with a fake smile.

"Where's Tyler?" Caroline demands, looking around.

"He's dead. Ish," She answers, and the young blond spots him lying on the floor.

"What did you do to him?" The Forbes girl asks, touching his face, growing scared and alone.

"Think of it as he's having a nap. When he wakes up, he'll be a Hybrid," The Original Vampire explains, looking through the pictures and coming across one with Stefan and Elena. "Ugh. Vomit." Suddenly, she notices the necklace hanging from Elena's neck. "Is that my neck…" She zooms into it, getting a better look, seeing it is, in fact, her necklace. "Why is that Doppelganger bitch wearing my necklace?!"

Lorilei and Stefan return to the gym with Klaus and the others; Edward immediately goes to his older Sister, snitching on Greta. Stefan grows peckish and feeds on Chad calmly, scaring Elena as she watches them. "It's always nice to see a Vampire in his true element. The species has become such a broody lot," Klaus comments, watching them and wrapping his arm around Lorilei, surprising her at the show of affection.

"No. You did this to him," Elena argues, glaring angrily at the couple, and Edward holds his Sister's hand, missing her while she was gone when he didn't hate her.

"We invited him to the party. He's the one dancing on the table," Lorilei tells her, smiling at how well Stefan has done since they met, and he asked for her help. Rebekah bursts into the gym and marches toward Elena angrily.

"Where is it?!" Rebekah demands, scaring the Doppelganger. "Where's my necklace?" She lunges at her, and Klaus stops her, holding his little Sister so she doesn't attack Elena, still needing her alive if Lorilei's theory is correct.

"What are you talking about?" Klaus asks her, stopping her from struggling to attack the teen nuisance.

"She has my necklace," She sneers, taking out Caroline's phone and showing the picture. "Look." She hands him the phone, and he looks; Lorilei grows concerned with his silence and looks at the image over his shoulder.

"Well, well, More lies," He muses, looking at his girlfriend and Stefan, feeling even more betrayed by their lies.

"Where… is it?" The blond Original demands, looking at the Doppelganger in pure anger.

"I don't have it anymore," Elena admits, cowering in fear of the Original Vampire out for her blood.

"You're lying!" Rebekah shouts, Vamping out and lunging at Elena, biting into her shoulder, making the teen human shout. Lorilei covers Edward's eyes as Klaus pulls her away, keeping her away from the Doppelganger.

"Knock it off!" Klaus warns her, pulling her behind him.

"Make her tell me where it is, Nik!" She demands, and he looks at Elena, watching her put a hand on her bleeding neck.

"Where's the necklace, sweetheart? Be honest," He orders, looking at her and tries getting under Lorilei's skin with the nickname.

"I'm telling the truth. Katherine stole it," Elena confesses, making the Supernaturals roll their eyes.

"Katerina," The Original Hybrid grumbles. "Of course. Well, that's unfortunate. If we had the necklace, it would make things a whole lot easier for your Witch, but since we're doing this the hard way, let's put a clock on it, shall we?" He moves away to the giant scoreboard controls and turns the clock on, making the buzzer sound as it appears. "20 minutes. If Bonnie hasn't found a solution by then, I want you to feel pain again. Only this time, I want you to torture Elena. You know what to do, Greta."

"No, Klaus! Don't do this!" She begs, looking at the Supernaturals in fear.

"No one leaves. If she tries to run, fracture her spine," Klaus suggests, and Rebekah looks at them, leaving with Klaus.

"Edward, you're coming with me," Lorilei orders, taking him by the hand and leading him out of the gym with the others, leaving only Greta and Elena.

Matt goes into the workout room on the phone with Bonnie as he looks for something. "Did you find Jeremy?" He asks her, growing worried for their friends.

"No! I called him like 20 times," Bonnie replies, growing frustrated with her boyfriend, thinking he's spending time with Anna again and ignoring him.

"All right, I'll grab my keys; we'll head to his house," He suggests, grabbing his bag.

"Okay. I'll meet you by your truck," The Bennett Witch agrees, and he hangs up, looking at all his stuff over the floor.

"What the hell?" He mutters, looking at his bag, but he doesn't find what he wants. He heads for the pool and finds his keys at the bottom. "You've got to be kidding me!" He takes off his jacket and shoes, and Vicki appears behind him, but he still can't see her.

"Matt!" Vicki shouts, trying to be heard, feeling ever more alone on The Other Side. "I can help you, Matty, but I need you to hear me." She angrily kicks one of his shoes into the pool, and he watches it sink to the bottom when he gets a text and looks at his phone to see it from an unknown sender. "Whoa! Vicki?" He quickly calls the one Witch he can trust and gets a hold of in a hurry, so he calls Bonnie.

"What is taking so long?" Bonnie answers the phone as Matt gets some iron chains and a weight to keep him down if his plan goes well.

"This is going to sound crazy, but I think Vicki's trying to reach out to me." He tells her, looking around and tying himself with the chains.

"What?" She exclaims, looking around.

"I think she can help us save Tyler," The blond Human declares, looking into the pool.

"No, Jeremy can help us save Tyler," The Bennett Witch argues, growing scared about her boyfriend, who is missing and won't answer his phone.

"We can't find Jeremy," Matt reminds her. "We need to try something else. I have an idea, but I'm going to need your help. Meet me at the pool."

"I don't understand," Bonnie frowns.

"Jeremy can see Ghosts because you brought him back from the dead. I need you to do that for me," He informs her.

"What?! No, Matt, that's crazy!" She yells down the phone.

"This is going to work, trust me," The quarterback promises.

"No, Matt, I can't do that kind of Magic anymore," The young Witch reminds him angrily.

"You don't need Magic, Bonnie," Matt corrects her. "You just have to be better than I was at CPR." He puts the belt around his waist and attaches the heavy weight to it, then jumps into the water with a big splash, sinking to the bottom. After Matt hangs up the phone, Bonnie runs through the school hallways, slamming the doors to the indoor pool and finds Matt at the bottom. She jumps in, removes the belt from around his waist, and swims to the top.

In Lorilei's car on its way back to Mystic Falls, Jeremy tries not to fall asleep, and Alexis turns around and warns him. "Don't fall asleep, Jeremy. You might have a concussion."

"Thanks for the concern, Al," Jeremy replies, holding the hoodie to his head to stop the bleeding. He can't help his eyes from drooping at the lavender perfume coming from the piece of clothing.

"Welcome. We'll get home and I will heal you up as if nothing happened." She promises with a smile.

"What are we going to do about Katherine and Damon?" Jenna asks, keeping her eyes on the road.

"Good point," The young McKnight girl muses and gets out her phone, dialling one number she knows can help now. "Maddox, hey, are you and Luka free?"

"Yeah? What's going on, Alexis?" Maddox asks, answering the phone.

"I need a big favour. I think Klaus is going to be in trouble," Alexis replies, looking at Jenna and Jeremy, who nod, agreeing, though they don't entirely trust the Hybrid.

"What kind of trouble?" He asks her, frowning and looking at Luka.

"The bad kind. From his past," The youngest McKnight sibling replies. "The possible end to all Vampires."

"What is it?" The older Warlock questions, getting up and moving out of the apartment. "Where is it?"

"Will Anna tell you?" The young Witch asks, looking at Jeremy, who seems to be looking around for his ex-girlfriend.

"She's not here, wait," Jeremy answers, seeing Anna sitting beside him. "Will you tell me where it is?"

"Yes, but you have to be careful. They know," Anna warns him.

"She said she will, but I think Damon and Katherine know," He tells them, looking at Alexis as she talks into the phone. "Where is Mikael?" He demands, looking at his ex-girlfriend, and his phone goes off, surprising him.

"Who is it?" Alexis asks, turning around as he answers his phone.

"It's a voicemail. It's Bonnie. She needed me for something," The young Gilbert boy tells her, looking at his phone. He sees a message from an unknown sender and looks at Anna to see she's gone again.

"I've got it," Maddox informs Alexis, making her frown. "Jeremy texted me the location. We're on our way. Get home safe."

Damon looks at his phone, seeing a message from Bonnie after she gave up looking for Jeremy. "What is it?" Katherine asks, looking at him.

"It's Klaus," Damon answers, turning around.

"No turning back, Damon," She reminds him, not wanting to do this alone, especially with Klaus involved.

"Shut up, Katherine," He snaps at her, thinking about what to do next.

"Hey, look at the big picture. The best shot at taking out Klaus is by finding Mikael," The older Vampire reasons and looks at the keys, giving them to her.

"Stay on Jeremy so they can guide you. I'm going back," The older Salvatore tells her, walking away.

"You're going to get yourself killed. The Damon I remember wouldn't have been that stupid," Katherine shouts after him.

"I wouldn't have done it for you," Damon replies, leaving her, and she looks at the keys in her hands.

Bonnie thumps on Matt's chest, trying to save him. "Matt, please!" She shouts, breathing into his mouth. "I can't do this. There's nothing else I can do!" Matt watches her in the in-between and spots his Sister.

"Matt. Matt," Vicki calls to him, smiling.

"Vicki?" Matt questions, frowning at seeing his dead Sister, wondering if this is how Jeremy felt for the first time.

"Matt, please!" She cheers, beaming.

"I can see you," He states, looking at her with sorrow and confusion, having missed his Sister so much.

"I need you to listen to me very carefully. I don't have much time," The Ghost warns him.

"Why, what's happening? Where are we?" The blond teenage boy asks her, feeling something pulling him back.

"It doesn't matter. I need you to give Bonnie a message," Vicki tells him, and he wakes up, spitting out water as he regains consciousness; Bonnie looks at him in shock, catching him.

"It's okay. You're okay," Bonnie assures him, holding him as he coughs up water.

Greta stands in the centre of the gym, watching Elens with 6 minutes left on the clock above their heads. "It's just you and me again, little girl, at the end of the line yet again," Greta comments, smiling.

"Why are you doing this?" Elena asks her. "Why help Klaus and Lorilei?"

"The same reason as before. The order of the new world. And I owe a debt to Lorilei. She saved my Brother from your lover." She replies, looking at the Doppelganger and then the clock. "I will always serve Klaus and Lorilei for what they have done for me and my family."

"What could possibly be worth sacrificing yourself to them? Why?" The Doppelganger questions, not seeing the big picture.

"You really don't get it do you, Elena. Klaus saved my life years ago. I was only young, and one night when I was walking home alone, I was attacked by a group of men. Klaus killed them, and I pledged myself to him in return. And Lorilei saved my Brother's life and promised to always protect us. And I won't ever go back on my word." The Martin Witch explains, thinking of that dark night.

"I don't believe that. They've done something to you. Your Father said you were kidnapped. Why would you leave him and your Brother and run away with Klaus?" Elena asks her, not hearing the words clearly, or she's just dumb.

"I came of my own free will. My home life after my mother's death was terrible. I wanted a way out, and Klaus gave it to me. I wish I gave it to Luka too but he's here now and safe. And I will do anything to protect my Brother." Greta says with such certainty. "My Father was a good man, but he was a drunk when I knew him, and I wanted to see the world, and I did. And I will help Lorilei and Klaus in everything they wish. Even killing you if needs be."

Rebekah watches over Caroline and Tyler in a science room, which seems appropriate for the night they are having, and Tyler awakens from his dead slumber as the transition truly begins. "Where am I? What happened?" He questions, looking around in fright and seeing the blond Original.

"Tyler!" Caroline exclaims, jumping from her seat to her boyfriend.

"Don't be shy about it," Rebekah tells her.

"What's going on?" Tyler asks, looking at his girlfriend as he grows confused, the heightened emotions running wild.

"Klaus is turning you into a Vampire. A Hybrid. You're in transition." Caroline explains rather delicately.

"Don't leave out the hard part, sweets," Rebekah reminds her. "You'll only survive if your Witch is successful. If not… You're pretty much dead." She looks at Tyler.

"You're going to be okay. Okay? It's going to be okay," She promises him, having faith in Bonnie.

"I wonder how she's doing," The blond Original remarks, looking at the clock on Caroline's phone. "Tick tock goes the gym clock."

Matt and Bonnie run down the hallway, needing to get away from the pool and find a way to save Elena. "As soon as you're feeling better, I'm going to kill you," Bonnie warns him.

"It worked. I saw her, I saw Vicki," Matt tells her, catching his breath.

"You did?" She asks, looking at him.

"She said she had a message for you," He informs her.

"For me?" The young Witch wonders, looking at him.

"From the Witch that put the Hybrid Curse on Klaus. She said that Elena shouldn't have survived Klaus' ritual. The Hybrids can't transition because Elena's still alive," The blond Human explains, not knowing the lies spilling from his lips.

"Tyler…" Bonnie mutters, feeling split at choosing between her best friend and her other best friend's boyfriend.

"He's going to die, isn't he?" Matt asks her, seeing the look in her eyes.

"I wouldn't be too sure about that," Klaus announces, stepping into the room with Lorilei behind him, being careful not to slip in her heels. "Given the choice, Doppelganger or a Hybrid, I go Hybrid every time."

"See ya later," Lorilei waves, walking out. "Oh, Doppelbitch, time for death!" She laughs, and Bonnie and Matt look at each other in worry for their friend.

"Gotta love her," Klaus muses to himself, following her.

In the gym, there are only a few seconds left on the clock, and Greta is growing bored, standing and staring at Elena. "I'm surprised you haven't tried to make a run for it," Greta comments, looking at her.

"Klaus said that if I run…" Elena argues, shaking her head, afraid to move a toe toward the door.

"I know what he said; I was there. But I'm still surprised you haven't tried to run after Stefan, that is what you've been doing all summer, haven't you?" She questions, trying to get under her skin.

"There was hope for Stefan then, Lorilei messed with his head or something," The Doppelganger fumes, hating feeling this way, and the buzzer sounds, meaning the time has passed. "Greta… please, I'm begging you. Please don't do this!"

"I want to do this," The Witch grins, stepping towards her, and Elena rushes away, heading for the doors with a scream. "I get it why Vampires play with their food."

Elena runs through the school corridors, trying to outrun Greta as she fires spells at the younger girl's back, but it's too late as Klaus corners her with Lorilei, catching the girl as she rushes through the doors into his arms. "We've got to stop meeting like this," Klaus jokes, wrapping his arms around her shoulders, stopping her from escaping. Greta comes into the cafeteria, frowning when she sees the Doppelganger in the Hybrid's arms as they enter from the other set of doors.

"Boo! You've ruined my fun," Greta fake pouts, making Lorilei laugh, and Stefan comes in, seeing Elena safe for now.

"Now, what are we going to do?" Klaus wonders, looking at Stefan, who shakes his head. "Don't worry, I won't do anything, we're all here for Elena. We need to decide, dead or alive?" He teases her.

"No!" Elena shouts, struggling in his vice-like grip.

"Come on. You didn't think I was going to just let you walk away. I just got word about what your little lover did to your Brother. You should really keep him on a tighter leash," The Hybrid taunts her, pushing her towards Greta, who catches her.

"If you don't, we will," Lorilei warns her, knowing why the two old lovers took Jeremy.

"Stefan…" Elena whimpers, looking at her ex-boyfriend, wishing he'd save her, but from the look he gives her, there is no way he's betraying his new friends.

"Give it up, Elena," Stefan tells her, breaking her heart further as he steps away.

"Let's get this over with, please, I want to go home to a bubble bath," Lorilei groans, wanting to relax after the stressful summer of Werewolf hunting.

"Get off me!" Elena shouts, ripping her arms from Greta's hold and tries to flee, but Stefan grabs her, holding her securely in his arms.

"I don't think so, Elena," Stefan tells her calmly, and she almost melts into his familiar warm embrace, but it's no longer warm.

"What did you do to him?!" She yells, looking at Klaus, blaming him.

"We helped him," Lorilei defends her boyfriend and friend. "Why don't we get this over with." She steps towards the Doppelganger, moving her hair away from her neck.

"Don't kill her, Stefan. We need to test it out, remember," Klaus says, looking at the recovering Ripper, who nods as his face changes and his fangs pop out. Elena screams as he sinks his teeth into her neck.

Klaus and Greta step into the science classroom with Rebekah, Tyler and Caroline inside, waiting. "Well, the verdict's in. The Original Witch says the Doppelganger should be dead," Klaus announces, teasing Elena's friends, and Rebekah gets up from her hair, seeming a little too happy for her Brother's liking.

"Does that mean we can kill her?" Rebekah asks, grinning from ear to ear.

"No," He tells her, making her pout. "Lorilei was right, it means the opposite."

"No!" She groans, hating the Doppelganger already.

"Don't pout about it," Greta jokes, liking the blond Original, who gives her a nasty look, and Klaus shows them a test tube containing Elena's blood. Rebekah quickly holds Caroline, not wanting her to interfere.

"Elena's blood. Drink it," Klaus orders Tyler, handing it over to him, and the Lockwood boy takes it quickly, not being able to hold back the overwhelming bloodlust from his awakening Vampiric side.

"No!" Caroline protests. "No, no, no, Tyler, don't!" She shakes her head, trying to escape Rebekah's tight hold.

"If he doesn't feed, he'll die anyway, sweetheart. Consider this an experiment," He tells her, and Tyler struggles, smelling the blood and grabbing it from the Hybrid, swallowing it in one gulp. "There we go. Good boy." Tyler suddenly stiffens in pain, screaming and groaning in pain, writhing around, holding his head as his face finally changes. His eyes turn yellow, and fangs pop out, veins spreading under his eyes. "Well, that's a good sign."

Meanwhile, Stefan holds Elena in his arms as she grows faint from the blood loss and keeps his jacket on her bleeding neck as they head for the car, and Lorilei walks with them, seeing Edward standing waiting for them. "Took you long enough," Edward fakes his irritation and spots Elena. "She dead?"

"No, we need her alive," Stefan tells him, still surprising the McKnight siblings. Lorilei unlocks the car, having taken the keys from Klaus. Stefan gently places Elena in the back of the vehicle, and Lorilei gets in with her, leaning her head against her shoulder.

"If you get blood on my blouse, I will be fuming," Lorilei warns the barely conscious Doppelganger.

"What is she doing?" Edward questions, looking at Stefan and pointing at his older Sister.

"She's compelling her to give blood willingly, I know, doesn't make sense," Stefan tells him and sees the look on Edward's face.

"Shut up," Lorilei snaps at the, as she moves her hand fluidly at the side of Elena's head with wisps of red flowing into her head. "Done. She will give blood once a month. Can we go now? Let's leave her on the side of the road. No?"

Elena slowly wakes up, finding herself in a hospital bed with a nurse next to her. "Where am I?" Elena asks the nurse as if it isn't apparent.

"In the hospital, sweetie. You suffered through a terrible ordeal," The nurse tells her, repeating the words said by Stefan when he compelled her.

"I have to get out of here," She tries moving from the bed, but the health care professional stops her.

"Ah. Not an option. You've lost a lot of blood," The nurse warns her, and Elena looks down, seeing a blood bag next to her.

"Wait… You're taking my blood?" The Doppelganger questions and the compulsion from Lorilei settle in.

"Of course," She replies calmly and politely smiles. "It's very important for your friend, Klaus." Elena calms down, sinking into the bed and closing her eyes. "That's good, dearie. You need plenty of rest."

"Yeah, plenty of rest," Elena mutters, letting sleep overtake her as her eyes grow heavy, and everything goes blank, unaware that the nurse has given her a tranquilliser to keep her calm, not knowing if the compulsion from Lorilei would work.

Outside, the Original siblings, Lorilei and Stefan, sit outside the hospital as they wait for the blood bags from Elena. "So the Doppelganger isn't the problem like Lorilei said. Her blood is the solution," Rebekah muses, looking at her older Brother and ex-boyfriend as she wraps her arms around Lorilei's shoulders.

"Seems so," Klaus smiles, seeing how close his Sister is with his girlfriend.

"How did you know?" Stefan asks Lorilei, leaning against the car.

"Well, you know how much the Original Witch hated Klaus from what Elijah and Klaus told me. Do you honestly think he would do anything other than the opposite of what she says," Lorilei explains, looking at her black nail polish needing a retouch.

"A thousand years in the grave, and she's still screwing with you," Rebekah jokes, teasing her older Brother.

"Well, it makes sense if you think about it from her perspective," Klaus replies, looking out into the distance. "It was her failsafe in case I ever broke the Hybrid Curse. The Doppelganger had to die in order for me to become a Hybrid, but if she was dead…"

"Then you couldn't use her blood to sire yourself a new species," She finishes, seeing how upset he is.

"Leaving me alone for all time," He finishes, correcting her.

"Is that what this is about?" His Sister asks, looking at him with sympathy. "Your obsession with Hybrids. You just don't want to be alone?"

"What I want is to take my girl and celebrate with my Hybrids in this one pony town. You know, why don't you, uh, why don't you head there? We'll get Elena," The Original Hybrid orders her, sensing Damon approaching. "Why don't you go with her, Stefan." Rebekah nods, and Stefan joins her, leaving the couple when Damon arrives. "Well, look who finally decided to show up to the party."

"Where is she?" Damon demands, standing before the couple, who glare back at the young Vampire.

"Elena?" Lorilei questions, smirking, which annoys Damon. "Ah, she's making a donation to a greater cause." Damon steps toward the hospital, but Klaus stops him. "I'm afraid I can't let you interfere, Damion."

"You'll have to kill me," He warns them, trying to act tough around them.

"Oh, I would love to kill you, but I made a pledge to your Brother, and unlike him, I keep my word. No, that's not true, I just don't lie about it. Although, you know what, thinking about it now, he probably doesn't care that much anymore," Klaus jokes, taunting the younger Vampire.

"Stop teasing him, just kill him if you're going to," Lorilei rolls her eyes, and Klaus pushes Damon roughly against a car about to kill him, raising his arm about to strike.

"You don't want to know about your friend Mikael?" The older Salvatore Brother taunts the older man, who hesitates at the mention of his stepfather.

"What do you know about Mikael?" Klaus demands, pulling away and looking at Lorilei, who grows just as worried.

"Just that he knows you're here," Damon tells him, bluffing badly.

"You're bluffing," Lorilei argues, getting her phone out, needing to call someone to find out the truth.

"Katherine and I found him. Consider it our leverage," He replies, and in retaliation, Klaus throws him onto the ground; when Damon gets up, Klaus and Lorilei have disappeared, so he goes into the hospital.

Damon stalks the hospital hallways, looking for Elena, and finally finds her asleep. He rushes into the room, checking on her before pulling out the wires and drips, which wakes Elena from the sudden movement. "Damon…" Elena mumbles, feeling groggy at the sudden awakening.

"Hey," Damon greets her, putting his arms under her knee and shoulders before lifting her from the bed and carrying her outside to his car.

Klaus and Lorilei step into the False Moon Pack Den to see the place already furnished and head to the living room to find them all sitting around enjoying themselves, watching a movie. "Hey, guys!" Lorilei greets them, making them turn around to see the couple.

"Lorilei!" The younger children cheer, running to her, and she opens her arms, welcoming them happily.

"What are you doing here so late?" Leo asks, looking at them confused, though happy to see them again.

"It worked," Klaus announces, surprising the others before cheers break out throughout the room.

"We're gonna be Hybrids! We're gonna be Hybrids!" Sara and Beth cheer as their birthday is only a few months away.

"Not for a few months!" Their mother snaps, though she is happy to see them so excited. "But yes we will be!" She hugs her husband, and Klaus looks around at the happy faces and can't help but smile, feeling not so alone anymore.

"Where is my Brother!" Rebekah shouts, storming into the room with Stefan not far behind her. "There you are!" She wraps her arms around him.

Caroline and Tyler remain in the high school, walking through the hallway after Klaus and his evil minions leave. "Are you sure you're okay?" Caroline asks for the second time, growing worried for her boyfriend.

"I'm great, Caroline," Tyler assures her, feeling brilliant. "I mean, like, phenomenal. It's a rush. I wish I could explain it. Everything's just… Better." He takes her in his arms, making her laugh and pulls her into a sweet kiss. "This is going to be an amazing year."

Elsewhere in the school, Bonnie joins Matt in the gym after everything, wondering what happened to everyone, but knows they're all alive at least. "You ready? I could still use a ride over to Jeremy's," Bonnie says, needing to see where her boyfriend has been for the past day.

"Yeah, just a second," Matt agrees, deep in thought, as he sits on the bleacher.

"Listen to me," She sits with him. "I know you want to help, and I know you miss your Sister. But what you did was reckless and stupid."

"I know. Bonnie. I know. But it worked. It was worth it," He argues, looking at her sincerely, missing Vicki.

"You don't want to be a part of all this, Matt," The Bennett Witch warns him. "You are the only one of us who actually gets to live your life like a normal person, no matter how lost you feel. Don't forget that." Feeling nostalgic for the good old days when she wasn't a Witch or involved with any Supernatural problems.

"I get it, Bonnie. I'll be out in a minute, okay? Vicki's here. Watching me, and I just, uh, I just need a minute to say goodbye, okay?" The blond Human pleads, and she leaves, giving him some alone time, but he's not alone. "Bon, seriously, I'm not going to do anything stupid, I just…" He thinks it's Bonnie and turns his head but sees Vicki standing beside him. "Vicki?" She quietly sits down next to him.

"Hi, Mattie," Vicki greets him, smiling, and Matt can't help the bright smile spreading across his face.

Damon gives Elena a glass of bourbon as she sits on the couch in the living room at the Salvatore House to calm her nerves. "Hey, have some bourbon. It'll help you forget," Damon tells her, and she takes the drink, sipping it, though she doesn't seem to enjoy it as her face scrunches up a little. "Yeah, it's strong. You know I can help you forget, too. At least the memories you don't want to keep."

"No. No compulsion. I need to remember. All of it," Elena argues, and he shows her the old necklace she got from Stefan.

"I stole it back for you," He informs her, hanging it in front of her.

"He's really gone this time," She finally gets it. "I watched it happen. After everything that we went through to get… to help him. Now he's just… Gone. Where were you, Damon?" She asks him, and he sits beside her, putting his hand on her leg comfortingly.

"I shouldn't have left. I promise… I will never leave you again," The raven-haired Vampire promises her, never wanting to leave her again, and they look each other in the eyes.

"Well, isn't this cosy?" Stefan ruins the moment as he enters the house, needing to get some sleep after the hard day and wanting to sleep in his own bed after months away. Damon and Elena look at Stefan in shock, and Damon gets up, moving away from Elena.

"What are you doing here, Brother?" Damon asks his younger Brother, wondering why he's back home.

"Last I checked, I lived here," He replies, shrugging. "Klaus and Lorieli have gone, but he's asked me to keep on you guys until they return. From now on, you're unfortunately under my protection." He looks at Elena. "Mmm, but by all means. Carry on, I'll be in my room." He strolls upstairs, leaving them alone again, and they look at each other.

Alexis leads Jeremy into the living room, with Jenna watching them with a fond smile as she sits on the couch and looks at the cut on his forehead. "Does it still hurt?" Alexis asks, moving her ruined hoodie from his forehead and seeing the bleeding has stopped.

"Not as much anymore," Jeremy answers, looking at her when his phone pings again, and he takes it out as she places her hand on his forehead, healing the tiny wound. Jenna moves into the kitchen and pours herself a large glass of wine to ease her nerves before she goes upstairs to sleep.

"What does Bonnie want?" She wonders, pulling her hand away, and Jeremy looks at her.

"Oh, um, the same thing as Damon and Katherine," He tells her, throwing his phone on the coffee table.

"I'm sorry about what happened," The young McKnight Witch sighs, "you get dragged into this mess all the time."

"It's not your fault. You saved me tonight, how did you know I was in trouble?" The young Gilbert boy asks, frowning as she removes a tissue to wipe the blood away.

"I just did I guess, considering you were missing all day," Alexis reasons, smirking at him, and he smiles back at her, forgetting about everything as he leans close to her, their lips almost meeting.

"Night you two!" Jenna shouts, ruining the moment and making them jump away as she heads upstairs to her room, smirking a little. However, she feels sorry about ruining their moment as she quite likes the young blond McKnight girl over Bonnie at the moment.

With Jeremy's direction, Maddox and Luka arrive at the cemetery to find the destruction of all vampires. "How does Jeremy know that Anna wasn't tricking him?" Luka wonders, stepping into the crypt.

"We don't. But Alexis texted and said she saw Katherine following them home. We're free from that Doppelganger messing with our plans," Maddox assures him as they look around, using a torch due to how late it is.

"I can't believe he's been entombed here since the nineties," He frowns as they look through the door, and there is a tomb in the centre of the crypt. "Look there." Maddox opens the double doors using his Magic and opens the tomb, revealing a mummified and chained Mikael lying inside. As soon as the tomb is opened, his eyes pop open, spooking the Warlocks, who take a step back.

"God, that's freaky!" Luka yelps, earning a look from the older Warlock, who flashes the torch in his face. "Do not tell my Sister."

Klaus drives the car out of Mystic Falls after celebrating with the Pack and changing everyone that wanted before announcing he and Lorilei are leaving to look for more Werewolves. Lorilei sighs, leaning against the window and feeling the long day catching up. She closes her eyes. "Tired?" Klaus questions, taking her hand as he drives, smiling softly at her.

"Very." Lorilei yawns. "I don't even care about going to a hotel."

"That's a first," He jokes, though he's feeling a little tired too.

"Okay, I lied. I want a real bed," The Siphon groans. "I want to cuddle with you too, I suppose."

"Thanks." The Hybrid grins sarcastically but doesn't get a response and looks over to see Lorilei fast asleep. "Please, don't drool on my car."

"I heard that…"

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
