All My Children

The night after the Mikaelson Ball, Elena wakes up and calls Stefan, needing to talk to him about them. Meanwhile, Stefan is already awake at the Pack Den, writing in his journal at his desk as Blake lies in his bed, sleeping in after their night together. His phone buzzes, and he looks at it to see it's Elena; he declines the call, shocking Elena as she looks at her phone and leaves him a message. "Stefan, hey, umm… it's me. I really have to talk to you. Please call me back," Elena begs pathetically through the phone before hanging up and calls Damon, who is still in bed and rolls over to answer his phone.

"What?" Damon asks, not checking to see who's calling him so early in the morning.

"Hey, I-I called you ten times last night," she replies nervously. "We need to talk."

"Sorry, I've been busy," He says, smirking and looking back at the figure lying asleep behind him.

"If you're mad at me, Damon, you need to get over it," The Doppelganger snaps, gaining some courage through the phone.

"Oh, I'm over it," The older Salvatore Brother sneers, hanging up and laying back in bed, staring at Rebekah as she sleeps beside him.

At the Mikaelson Manor, Lorilei gets up from bed and looks at Klaus as he wakes up. The couple is beginning their day already. "I'm surprised you're up already," Klaus remarks, kissing her neck.

"What can I say? You need to do better," Lorilei teases him. She walks out of the room and grabs her matching silk robe, covering her as she walks out, leaving Klaus to watch her.

"That woman," he mutters, putting on a top before following her downstairs to see her shaking her head as Edward comes down the stairs behind her, his usual controlled and gelled hair now a tousled bedhead. Klaus watches as she tries calming his messy hair lovingly, and he wishes he could give her a baby that was theirs, but he can't give it to her, and she's cursed never to have children.

"What's for breakfast?" Edward grumbles, looking at his big sister as they walk into the kitchen. Klaus follows them to see Elijah sitting at the bar, already dressed and waiting for them.

"What would we like today?" Lorilei asks as Kol strolls inside, looking at his older brothers with Edward and Lorilei. "Morning, any special requests for breakfast?"

"He gets to decide?!" Edward gasps loudly, looking at his big sister.

"You can decide tomorrow," she suggests. Edward beams as his twin Alexis walks in with Jeremy, who is not far behind.

"When can I decide?" Alexis asks, joining Elijah at the bar.

"Should we just have a schedule or something?" Lorilei questions, looking at everyone, and Finn joins them, intrigued to watch the scene.

"Yeah, that sounds good," Jeremy agrees. "I pick Saturdays."

"Today's Saturday," Alexis tells him, making him groan. She wraps her arm around her boyfriend, kissing his cheek. "You could share with Kol."

"We all know what you want, Gilbert," Edward grumbles. "Pancakes - so boring. Lorilei makes anything for breakfast, and you always pick pancakes."

"Lorilei's pancakes are legendary," He argues, faking a glare at Edward. "And they're not always the same, either."

"Thank you, Jer. So, Kol, what would you like?" Lorilei asks, turning to Kol, who looks at the Siphon. "Whatever you want. I can make something simple or, as Jer said, my legendary pancakes or builders breakfast—that's Nik's favourite."

"She makes the best hash browns," Klaus remarks, smiling.

"So many choices," Kol muses and looks at Jeremy. "I'll try the legendary pancakes."

"Coming up," Lorilei replies, smiling. "Want syrups, chocolate or fruits?"

"I'll have chocolate," Jeremy adds, making everyone look at him. "You weren't asking us, were you?"

"No, but I'll do them for next Saturday," She promises, smiling gently at him. "Or we could have a surprise?"

"I like that idea," Kol smirks, looking at the others and sits between Elijah and Klaus at the bar as Lorilei gets to work making food as they decide on their weekly breakfast schedule.

"So, Saturday's are Jeremy and Kol's forever," Edward declares, getting a pen and notebook from the counter drawer. "Which Kol will probably outlive."

"I have Sunday's," Alexis reminds him, watching him write on the page.

"Lijah will have Monday, because he's boring," Kol jokes, watching Lorilei.

"Bekah likes Fridays," Lorilei adds, knowing Rebekah isn't home. "What about you, Finn? What day do you want?" She glances over her shoulder at the older Mikaelson brother.

"I don't mind," Finn replies, sitting at the end of the counter.

"I want Wednesday," Edward declares, already writing his name down.

"You can have Thursday, Finn," Lorilei decides, turning around and plating the pancakes. "That leaves Tuesday for you, Nik."

"Thank you," Finn mutters, looking at the food. She places it before everyone, then sits next to Nik, leaving only one plate for Rebekah later.

"No problem. Enjoy your cinnamon roll pancakes," She declares, and everyone tucks into their food.

Rebekah and Damon walk towards the front door, both awake and dressed, mostly as the older Salvatore is shirtless. "My thoughts exactly," Damon agrees, knowing last night was just a helping hand in relieving stress.

"Besides, I expect you'll come calling soon enough," Rebekah jokes, not taking it seriously.

"Let's not hold our breath," he mutters and opens the door to find Elena standing outside, about to open the door. She stands in shock, seeing Rebekah and Damon together. The Original sister smiles and walks outside, glancing at the Doppelganger. A few moments later, Elena storms into the house, glaring at Damon as he grabs a shirt and puts it on as the Doppelganger gets over her shock.

"Did you stop taking your vervain?" Elena demands angrily, glaring at the older brother.

"You think Rebekah had to compel me?" The cocky Vampire questions, looking at the jealous Doppelganger.

"What's wrong with you? She tried to kill me less than forty eight hours ago," She reminds him, huffing and pouting.

"Can we just move past that, Elena?" Damon asks her, looking at the woman.

"So is that how it's going to be now?" The Doppelganger questions, looking at him. "I hurt your feelings and this is how you lash out at me?" Damon ignores her question and pours himself a drink.

"Well, maybe, for once, something I did had nothing to do with you," He argues, holding up his glass before taking a drink.

"You should know that Esther is planning on killing her entire family," Elena reveals. "She's linked them all together with a spell. Whatever happens to one, happens to all of them."

"Well, that's great! Klaus will finally be dead. We win," The older Salvatore brother replies, smirking. "Why do you look like someone just shot a panda bear?"

"Uh, because to kill Klaus she has to kill all of them, including Elijah. And he doesn't deserve this!" She argues, feeling guilty.

"I'm supposed to care about Elijah?" Damon retorts, glaring at her. "What about Lorilei? Once Klaus and Elijah are dead, she's next on our dangerous enemies list."

"She's also linked," the Doppelganger answers, and Damon nods. "And shouldn't you at least care about Rebekah?"

"Two seconds ago, you were pissed that she attacked you. It's a win-win," He argues, and Elena goes to leave, but Damon blocks her, unsure if she will go through with killing the Originals and Lorilei. "Don't do anything to screw this up, Elena."

"Why are you doing this?" Elena asks him. Alaric walks into the house, needing to talk with Damon, and overhears what's going on with the Original family.

"He's right, you know. Klaus has to die. They all do," Alaric argues, sticking with his friend.

"See? It's democracy in action," Damon announces arrogantly, and Elena storms out of the house, knocking Damon on her way and spilling his drink.

After breakfast, everyone leaves the kitchen, and Elijah enters Lorilei's study, knowing that Esther has been using it. He walks around the room and finds the burnt sage his mother used last night. Meanwhile, Rebekah enters the house downstairs, passing the living room where Kol and Klaus are. The Original Hybrid sits on the couch sketching as Kol lounges beside him, bored. "Well, well, well, there's our girl!" Kol exclaims, jumping from the sofa and blocking her way.

"Get out of my way, Kol," Rebekah snaps, trying to get past her brother.

"Out all night. What a scandal!" he teases her, smirking. "I trust you did better than that commoner? Matt, was it?"

"If you don't shut your mouth, the next thing to come out of it will be your teeth," She threatens him, and Klaus grins, watching his younger siblings bickering like old times. "Don't start, Nik!"

"I didn't say anything," Klaus argues lightly, looking up at them.

"I'm bored," Kol declares. "Our sister is a strumpet, but at least she's having fun. I need entertainment." He walks towards his half-brother.

"What are you waiting for? Go on, have at it," He replies, waving his brother away.

"It's not fun to go alone. Join me, Nik!" The Sadistic Original replies, falling onto the couch. "It's the least you can do after sticking a dagger in my heart." He pouts fakely at him.

"Okay. Why not?" The Original Hybrid says, giving in to his brother's pleas. "I didn't have nearly enough to drink last night, what with you trying to murder Rebekah's date."

"Yes, please go, this house has enough men rolling around in it!" Rebekah snaps, watching them walk out the door.

"Just like you, Bekah," Kol jokes, and she throws her heel at Kol, but it misses him as he closes the front door. "Good riddance, both of you!" Elijah hears his younger siblings and heads downstairs, still holding the burnt sage.

"Rebekah," Elijah calls him, and they hear a shriek from Kol from outside; then the front door opens to see Lorilei enter.

"Not you too, Elijah," Rebekah sighs, wanting to get out of her dress.

"I'm worried about mother. Have you not noticed her strange behaviour?" He asks her.

"She's been dead for a thousand years. What's strange for her?" She questions, and Elijah holds out the bowl towards Lorilei.

"Burnt sage?" Lorilei asks, looking at her former guardian. He nods, showing Rebekah the sage, and she takes it from him.

"She was doing a privacy spell," Elijah announces, looking at the women.

"You know she fancies such things. Why don't you ask Finn? He's been doting on her," Rebekah suggests, and Elijah and Lorilei look at each other.

"I don't know if I trust Finn. He hates what we are, he always has," he replies, thinking about this morning at breakfast. The usually sullen Vampire brother smiled at Edward's jokes and seemed lighter around his family.

"That's not true. And as for mother, she returned for one reason, to make our family whole. She loves us. What trouble are you looking to find?" she argues, walking away upstairs to her room.

"What's your idea?" Lorilei asks Elijah.

Bonnie sits on Elena's bed at her house with her Grimoire and a tray before her containing three lit candles and a bowl with burning sage as she tries replicating Esther's spell. Elena talks to her from outside, with the door closed. "He was gloating. Like actual gloat. Like he was proud of himself for sleeping with her." Elena grumbles and turns to the door. "Is it working?"

"It's not working. I can hear every word you're saying about Damon, the Vampire gigolo," Bonnie replies, glancing at her Grimoire. "I don't know, it's a tricky spell," She says, looking at the items, still not having a clue how to do the spell.

"When Esther did it, she kept the sage burning. There was a lot more smoke," She tells her, trying to help, but it does nothing as she only saw the tail end of the privacy spell.

"Alright," the Bennett Witch mutters, relighting the sage. "Try it again." She waves her hand over the sage, hoping something happens "Speaking of Esther, you should know that she came to see me and Abby this morning."

"And all this time you let me vent about Damon?" the Doppelganger questions, looking at the door in surprise.

"I don't want you to worry," Bonnie replies.

"Okay, well, what did she want?" Elena asks her.

"She wanted to introduce herself. Abby and I helped bring her back," She explains. "She's channelling our entire ancestral bloodline for power. I think she thought she was being polite."

"Okay, well, is there a way to stop her from channelling you?" The Doppelganger asks her, worried something might happen to her friend.

"Even if there was, why would I want that?" The Bennett Witch wonders, looking at the door, wondering what's got her friend so worried.

"I just keep thinking...Before the Sun and Moon Ritual, Elijah found a way to keep me alive," Elena explains. "And now I'm in exactly the same position and I'm just gonna let him die? It just doesn't feel right." Bonnie looks at the door, knowing the spell isn't working.

"Okay. First of all, this privacy spell is totally not working," Bonnie tells her. "Second, Elena, you are not doing this, Esther is doing this. So there's no time to change your mind, Elena," she adds. "He'll be dead by the end of the night."

"What?" She asks, looking at her as they stand in the doorway.

"It's a full moon. Esther needs to harness the energy of a celestial event. She asked me and Abby to join her," The inexperienced Witch reveals.

Damon enters the living room with a glass of blood and whiskey for him and Alaric. "Join me for a little victory drink?" Damon asks, looking at his only friend.

"Shouldn't we wait until Klaus is dead." Alaric questions, looking at the older Salvatore brother.

"Why are you so extra broody?" he asks. "Did you see the way we stood up to Elena? I like you on my team. Must have driven her nuts."

"You still think she's gonna screw this up, don't you?" The history teacher questions, looking at him and taking the glass.

"I think somebody needs to talk to her. She's not gonna listen to anything I say," The cocky Vampire tells him.

"Is it because of your little sleepover?" Alaric wonders, glancing at him.

"It's not my fault she decided to get jealous," Damon retorts, smirking as he enjoys the Doppelganger's attention and jealousy.

"Well, given who you chose to sleep with, I would say it's one hundred percent your fault." He argues.

"Whatever. Did you a favour. Now you can come in and save her," the older Salvatore brother teases him.

"Nah. She's better off without me. Sure as hell better off without you," Alaric retorts, knowing Elena is better off out of the Supernatural world.

"Fine. No one gets her. Just make sure she doesn't screw up Esther's plan," Damon warns him, wanting Klaus and Lorilei dead. Damon walks out of the room, leaving Alaric to nurse his glass.

Later that day, there's an unexpected knock on the door, and Elena walks downstairs and answers it to see Elijah standing outside on her porch. "Elena," Elijah greets her, looking at the Doppelganger through narrow eyes.

"Elijah," She replies, looking at him and wondering why he's here, especially after the Mikaelson ball.

"I don't mean to intrude. I was hoping you might accompany me. I want to show you something," he tells her. After learning Lorilei sensed a spell hanging over her, he had a plan, and she confirmed it with a simple spell. But Lorilei needs time to unlink herself from the Originals and to find a spell that will unlink the siblings.

Elijah parks his car in the woods on the outskirts of Mystic Falls, close to the Pack Den. He and Elena get out of the car and walk through the trees. "Forgot how much I missed this land," Elijah remarks, looking around, remembering everything from his time before he was a Vampire.

"I can't even imagine what it must have been like a thousand years ago," Elena replies nervously, looking around as if suspecting something or someone to jump out and attack her.

"You know, your school was built over an Indian village? Where I saw my first Werewolf. The town square was where the natives would gather to worship. Matter of fact, near that, there was a field where wild horses used to graze," he informs her, walking through the woods with such nostalgia.

"That's incredible," She mutters.

"Come," The Noble Original tells her, moving through the trees.

"Do you know this place too?" The Doppelganger asks him, looking around.

"I do. Below us is a cavern I used to play in as a boy," Elijah informs her, smiling fondly. "Connects to a system of tunnels that stretch across the entire area. Perhaps it's nature's way of providing us with shelter against the savagery of the full moon. My mother said there must be a balance."

"Elijah, I should probably go home," Elena says, looking at him as the feeling of impending doom rises.

"I admire you, Elena. You remind me of qualities I valued long before my mother turned us. It's not in your nature to be deceitful and yet when I asked about your meeting with my mother the other night, you lied to my face." He replies, moving towards her and glaring at her.

"That's not true. I told you that all your mother wanted was a new start," She lies again.

"I can hear your heartbeat. It jumps when you're being dishonest with me," The suit-wearing Original snaps, growing bored and angry with the lies. "You lied to me at the ball; you are lying to me now. Tell me the truth."

"I never wanted this to happen," The Doppelganger argues, shaking her head.

"What, Elena?" Elijah asks her, needing answers.

"We were told that whatever was going to be in that coffin was going to kill Klaus. When we found out that it was your mother...We didn't know what to think," Elena replies urgently.

"Since her return she says she only wants this family whole again," He argues, wanting to believe his mother, but everything says otherwise.

"When she asked to see me, I...I thought that maybe she could help," She tells him. "That she would find a way to kill Klaus. It's not just Klaus that she wants to kill."

"She wants to kill us all, doesn't she? She wants to undo the evil she created," The Noble Original realises that Lorilei is right.

"I'm so sorry, Elijah. I wish there was something I could do to help," The Doppelganger replies with regret.

"You know, one thing I've learned in my time on this Earth...be careful what you wish for," Elijah smirks. He stomps his foot onto the ground and creates a hole in the Earth before grabbing Elena and jumping down into the hole with her. Later, Elena finds herself alone in the cavern, trying to get a signal on her phone to call for help.

Damon stands in the living room on the phone with Alaric, needing to talk with Elena. "I haven't seen Elena since this morning," Alaric tells him.

"Well she's not answering her phone," Damon snaps, growing worried about the Doppelganger.

"Well, I'm surprised you have time to call, what with all this Original sex you've been having." He teases his friend.

"Stop using that against me!" The cocky Vampire groans.

"Oh, come on if it was the other way around, you'd use it against me," The Vampire Hunter argues.

"Please, I would say props, it's not like you have a Vampire blood using Doctor on the side," Damon retorts.

"Hey, leave Meredith out of this and I don't even know what we are, so she can't be my Doctor on the side," Alaric snaps.

"Well, whatever. I think we need to tie Elena up, lock her in her room, till this is all over," he suggests, growing worried about Elena's conscience about killing the Originals.

"Well, I wouldn't if I could and I can't because I'm busy," The history teacher informs him.

"Busy doing what?" The older Salvatore asks.

"Don't worry about it," Alaric replies rapidly.

"Are you with the sexy, psycho doctor?" Damon wonders, smirking, and Alaric can hear it through the phone.

"Goodbye, Damon," He mutters, hanging up.

Alaric and Meredith sit at the bar at the Mystic Grill, enjoying a drink on their little lunch date. "Sorry about that," Alaric says, referring to Damon's call.

"Does he still think I'm a serial killer?" Meredith asks him, smiling, finding the whole thing a little funny.

"He's a little judgmental," He replies, smiling apologetically.

"Speaking of. Your x-rays were inconclusive. Your knife wound was already semi-healed," She informs him. "It's impossible to tell anything about whoever stabbed you. Short, tall. Left-handed, right-handed. No clue."

"Well, what about my head? Why can't I remember anything about the attack?" The Vampire Slayer wonders, looking at her.

"Your CT scans were clear. Maybe you were compelled to forget," Dr Fell argues, wondering the same thing.

"Wait...you think the killer's a...a Vampire?" Alaric questions, looking at her in surprise.

"There are no other suspects. It's the obvious conclusion," Meredith replies when Kol and Klaus step into the Grill and look around at the place.

"Oh come on now," Klaus remarks, hearing what they are saying and walks over to the couple at the bar. "Let's not go blaming the new family in town just because you lot have got yourselves a killer at large. Don't mind us. My brother and I are just here to let off some steam, right Kol?"

"Right," Kol replies, eyeing Meredith. The hunger she can see in his eyes makes her a little uncomfortable. Alaric notices the way they're staring at each other.

Abby and Bonnie arrive at the Old Witches' House to see Esther and Finn walk out of the entrance, waiting for them. "Who's the creepy, lurky guy?" Abby wonders, not realising he can hear her. Finn looks at the older Bennet woman and wishes he was anywhere else, having second thoughts about killing himself and his siblings, especially after this afternoon. That was the first time in a long time he felt like he belonged, and it was because of Lorilei and her siblings.

"Esther's son, Finn, he's a Vampire, so…" Bonnie tells her mother, pointing to her ear, reminding Abby they have excellent hearing.

"Wonder what your Grams thinks about the part we're playing in all of this balance-of-nature stuff," she remarks, looking at her daughter.

"She's probably on the Other Side, screaming about getting involved with Vampire business," the young Bennett Witch mutters, hanging her head a little in shame.

"Bennett Witches, thank you for coming," Esther greets them. "I can think of no better allies than the woman who sent Mikael into his long sleep and the girl who fought Niklaus so bravely."

"Why exactly did you invite us here?" Abby asks her.

"You are the descendants of the Witch Ayana. She was a great mentor of mine and I think it's only fitting that I draw from her bloodline." She replies, making the Witches look at her.

"So are you channelling our ancestors?" Bonnie questions, looking at the Original Witch in shock.

"I draw from the entirety of the Bennett bloodline, living and dead," Esther explains. "The connection affords me great power, although it is somewhat difficult to maintain, which is why I require you, mother and daughter. The bloodline made manifest. Tonight, my sisters, we shall bring peace to the spirits of nature that we serve and for that I thank you." Finn looks at the three women and moves away, wishing he could find a way to warn his siblings after everything; his thoughts of being a Vampire don't seem so bad anymore.

Elena walks around in the underground tunnels below the woods, trying to find a way out. She thinks she's found a way out when Rebekah appears, blocking her escape. "Going somewhere?" Rebekah questions, smirking at the Doppelganger as she thinks about killing her.

"What are you doing here?" Elena asks her, though she has a good idea why.

"Not much. Unless you try to run. In which case, I get to kill you," she replies, and Elena backs away in fear.

Damon walks downstairs, heading out to look for Elena, who still isn't answering her phone. "Having trouble finding the little girlfriend?" He hears a voice and turns to see Lorilei sitting in the armchair by the fireplace. "Hello, Damon."

"You have Elena?" Damon questions, looking at her as she smirks at him.

"Actually, she's with Rebekah," Lorilei replies. "As you can imagine, she is just dying to tear her throat out. So...if you want to save Elena's life, I need you to help us stop Mama Original."

"I'm a little embarrassed to admit, but when it comes to killing thousand-year-old resurrected Witches, I'm a little rusty," he jokes, making Lorilei scoff.

"Yes, unfortunately, even when killed, dear old Esther doesn't seem to want to stay dead—not with the spirits of nature at her side. But see, I know how to make that happen," she tells him.

"So, what are we supposed to do?" The older Salvatore brother questions, looking at her.

"The Witches who released Mama Original, she's drawing her power from their bloodline. That line needs to be broken. And I'm giving you some help in that department," the Siphon tells him. The front door opens, and Stefan and Blake walk in.

"Broken?" Damon asks, looking at his younger brother and the red Werewolf.

"Yeah, she means," Blake replies, cutting her forefinger across her neck.

"You want us to kill them?" He asks again, looking at the Siphon.

"See, I'd do it myself, but they'll see me coming a mile away and know what my intentions are. They won't expect to be harmed by the likes of you. Anyway, you have until 9:06 to find and kill them," Lorilei informs him.

"Oh, how super specific of you," The cocky Vampire remarks, looking at her.

"By 9:07, the moon will be full, Esther will have the power she needs to kill me and the Original family. If you do not stop her before then, Rebekah will kill Elena. So we all have our timeline? I suggest you get started," She warns him. "Because if any of them dies let alone one, you'll wish you were alive to see me kill Elena myself." She leaves the house, leaving Stefan and Blake alone with Damon.

"What does she mean by that?" Damon asks them, and Blake shakes her head at Stefan, warning him not to tell him.

Rebekah starts recording Elena on her phone, taunting the Doppelganger. "Alright, love, now look into the camera," Rebekah teases her.

"What are you doing?" Elena asks her, looking at the blond Original.

"Shooting a picture to inspire your boyfriend. Why don't you tell him how delightful it is being stuck in a hole with your biggest fan?" She taunts the Doppelganger.

"I guess you think I had this coming, huh? After what I did to you?" The Doppelganger questions, looking at her in fear.

"You know, I don't know what I want more, to find out we're saved or to find out it's alright to kill you." The blond Original retorts.

"This isn't my fault," Elena argues. "I wanted to get rid of Klaus. At one point, so did you. I didn't know that your mom was planning on killing all of you."

"Do you think I want to spend what could be the last few hours of my life having idle chit-chat with a girl who literally stabbed me in the back?" Rebekah snaps, glaring at her. "Of course not. But for some reason, everybody seems to want to bend over backwards to save your life, which is incredibly annoying but makes you the perfect hostage. So, why don't you sit down and shut up before I ruin everything by ripping your head off." Elena complies and carefully sits on a rock, eyeing the Original Vampire.

Stefan heads down into the basement and looks in the freezer where the blood bags are. He pulls one out and looks at it before opening it, and Damon enters as Blake is on the phone with the Pack. "Clock's ticking," Damon warns him. "You gonna help me brainstorm a plan, or are you too busy fixing yourself a snack while your girlfriend's on the phone?"

"We need to call Bonnie. There's got to be a way for her to stop Esther from channelling all that power," Stefan suggests.

"A. What if she's with Esther? B. What if she can't cut her off? C. I don't know how any of this stuff works, and D. Neither do you!" He argues, growing frustrated.

"You got a better plan?" The former Ripper questions, looking at his brother.

"Worst case scenario, simple mechanics. Can't draw power from a dead battery," The older Salvatore brother retorts.

"Kill them," Stefan answers sternly, looking at his brother.

"If it comes to that," Damon replies, glancing at his younger brother, wondering what's changed about him. Stefan takes a sip of the blood bag, but Damon snatches it, sucking more blood out before giving it back to Stefan.

"There doesn't seem to be another way," he argues, shrugging, not caring for the Bennett Witches so much any more, only about his new family, the one that's been there for him in the last few months instead of his brother and friends, that want to change and mould him into someone he isn't.

"Well, what if I told you I had a less diabolical plan?" The cocky Vampire questions, planning on deceiving the Originals and Lorilei. Damon pulls out a silver dagger, unaware that Lorilei is working on them as they speak.

"You want to dagger Elijah!" Blake snaps, making Damon jump, and Stefan smirks, looking at his brother.

"They're all linked. One goes down, they all go down. The Witches live, Elena's safe, problem solved," Damon argues, glaring at the Werewolf.

"You don't know if that'll affect Klaus," Stefan warns him, knowing it won't, having seen it firsthand. "And it will kill Lorilei. What do you think Elijah and Klaus will do to you if that happens?"

"Ironically, Klaus isn't our current problem," He retorts, shrugging, not bothered about Lorilei dying.

"Dagger is lethal to any Vampire who uses it," Blake reminds him, smirking, though she is hoping he is stupid enough to use it himself.

"Well, I just so happen to know someone crazy enough to give it a shot," The cocky Vampire retorts, smirking.

Lorilei walks through the bookshop, passing Greta and Maddox, who watch her go into the back room, which they use as a storage/dungeon. "What's got to her?" Greta wonders, and Maddox shakes his head. Lorilei stands in the centre of the room, rolling her shoulders before closing her eyes, letting herself siphon the spell. She senses the spell fighting back as her skin feels on fire, and she hears the door open. "I don't want you in here," Lorelei tells them, opening her glowing eyes to see Maddox stepping inside.

"What's going on Lollipop?" Maddox asks her, and she sighs.

"The Originals and I are linked because of their bitch of a mother. And I'm siphoning the spell so I can kill that little bitch before one of them gets into any trouble that could kill me." She explains, making Maddox look at her in shock.

"How can we help?" He asks her, wanting to help them.

"Find Esther and Finn, and tell Greta to keep my siblings out of danger. If we succeed, then I fear Damon will retaliate by going after them next," The older McKnight warns him and closes her eyes, continuing to siphon the spell.

Meanwhile, Alaric is on the phone with Damon at the Mystic Grill, standing near the pool table while Meredith plays pool. Klaus and Kol are still drinking at the bar, enjoying their time together, which is a first, and Kol plans on telling Lorilei something later. "Yeah, no, they're still here," Alaric mutters, trying not to be heard by the Original brothers. "Yeah, they've drunk their way through half the Grill's liquor supply."

"Good. It'll be easier if they're wasted," Damon tells him, though the 1000-year-old brothers have a higher tolerance than them.

"So, what's the plan?" He asks, growing nervous.

"Divide and conquer. First, we'll need a little distraction," the cocky Vampire suggests, and lucky for them, Caroline enters the Grill. Alaric hangs up, spotting Caroline as she walks, needing to talk with Klaus about what she heard from Bobby.

"I remember her from last night. She looks like a tasty little thing," Kol remarks, pointing at Caroline.

"Say another word, and Bobby will tear out your liver. The dear boy is smitten with her," Klaus warns his brother, and Caroline approaches them.

"Oh, it's you," Caroline sighs, looking at the Hybrid and Vampire.

"Join us for a drink?" He asks, looking at her.

"Not right now, I need to talk to you," She tells him, looking at Kol. "In private." She quickly leaves out the door.

"Well, that was interesting," The Original Hybrid muses, looking at his younger brother.

"Indeed. I wonder what she wanted," Kol replies, looking at the door.

"I'd better find out," Klaus says, putting his drink on the counter. He then walks after Caroline outside, leaving Kol to his own devices.

Caroline races outside and crosses the road, wanting to get as far away from the Grill as possible. She needs to talk with him, though she almost gets hit by a car. "Caroline!" Klaus shouts, making her stop and turn around to face him.

"What the hell is going on!" Caroline snaps, turning around and walking over to a bench.

"What do you mean? What's wrong, Caroline?" he asks, moving towards her.

"Bobby just texted me and told me that my former friends are trying to kill you and your family and Lorilei. But not to worry!" She retorts angrily.

"Why would he text you that?" The Original Hybrid asks her, though he knows Bobby is sweet on the blond Vampire.

"You know why he would call me. Don't act stupid now, Klaus!" the blond Vampire snaps, growing tired of being thrown around from Elena's group to Klaus' Pack. "How can I help?"

"I don't know if you can, Caroline," Klaus tells her. "It's nice to know you care, but even if you could help, I don't think Bobby wants you getting in the middle." He sits on the bench with Caroline, who scoffs at him.

"Well he shouldn't have told me then, should he. But I can help, Elena wants me back in the fold. I mean, Damon texted me earlier, wanting to distract you and keep you away from Kol," Caroline informs him, making him glare at her. "I'm telling you so you can warn him."

"Okay, fine," He agrees reluctantly, getting his phone out and texting Kol quickly to make sure he's more aware of his surroundings, though he knows his younger brother loves chaos. "Why would you want to help us, Caroline?"

"Because I care about Bobby and Blake. I'm Stefan's friend and I'm sick of Elena using us up like used tissues so she can live a happy life with Damon, the man who used me to get to her and Stefan." She tells him, and he looks at her, feeling sorry for the young Vampire.

"How would you like to get some payback?" The Original Hybrid asks her, smiling, making her smile back at him.

"I'm listening…"

Outside the Old Witches' House, Finn and the Bennett Witches stand, watching Esther lighting torches around a pentagram on the ground made of salt. "The pentagram represents our connection to magic. The salt is a symbol of the Earth," Esther explains to the women.

"The torches?" Bonnie asks her, looking at the six torches around the pentagram like a circle.

"Six torches. One for each of my children and Lorilei," She replies, smiling kindly at the Witches.

"What's the spell you're doing?" the young Bennett Witch asks, leaning in close as she takes everything in.

"As the Witch who cast the spell that made them Vampires, I can also reverse it. When they become human again, they can be killed," The Original Witch informs them. "As they are linked as one, my brave Finn will be the sacrifice. With his death, will come theirs," She looks at her eldest son, who looks at her.

"And you're just willing to die?" Abby asks him, seeing something in his eyes.

"My mother has released me from an eternity of shame. It's not a sacrifice, it's a gift," Finn replies, lying to the Witches.

Inside the Grill, Kol looks at his phone, sees Klaus's text, watches Meredith and Alaric, and decides to play with them. He then walks over to the Doctor. "A woman of your calibre ought to choose more suitable company. What's your name, love?" Kol asks her, recognising the Vampire Slayer.

"None of your business," Meredith sneers, glancing at the Original Vampire.

"Let's try that again. I'll start. I'm Kol," he replies, playing with her.

"Why don't you get lost, Kol?" She snaps, growing annoyed with him.

"And why would I do that? I like pretty little things with sharp tongues," the mischievous Original smirks. He walks towards her and touches her face, making her slap his hand. Alaric, watching them, storms over to them and stands behind them.

"I'm pretty sure she told you to get lost," Alaric snaps at the Original Vampire.

"I'm pretty sure I don't care," Kol teases him, turning around and facing Alaric. The Vampire Hunter stabs him with the silver dagger, making him grey as he slumps over.

"Next time, take a hint," He mutters, not wanting to draw too much attention to them.

In the tunnels, Rebekah suddenly cries out before dying and falling to the ground. Elena notices and quickly gets to her feet, running past the decaying body and tries making her escape.

Finn suddenly falls to the ground at the Witches' House, greying as the dagger takes effect. "Something's wrong," Esther realises, looking at her son.

Outside the Mystic Grill, Klaus feels the dagger piercing his heart, places a hand over it and gets to his feet. He then looks at Caroline, who looks just as confused as he does. "Klaus, what is it?" Caroline asks him, worried about the others.

"I think they've done something to one of us," Klaus tells her.

"Okay, but what could they have done and to who?" She wonders, and he grabs his phone.

"I think I know who, but you need to find either Elijah or Lorilei. I need their help," he tells her.

"I can't just leave you!" the blond Vampire argues, but he moves away and heads for the Grill.

"Yes, you can. I need to save Kol!" the Original Hybrid replies, running into the Mystic Grill.

Alaric drags a desiccated Kol into the alleyway at the back of the Grill, with Damon waiting for him. "Here, grab him!" Alaric begs, feeling the heavy dead weight of a desiccated Original.

"Tell your sexy doctor "Good work," Damon tells him when Klaus rushes over, undaggering Kol before knocking Alaric against the wall. Damon tries to attack the Hybrid, but Klaus knocks him out, too, making Finn, Rebekah and Elijah revive again, along with Kol.

"I should have killed you months ago," Klaus growls, holding Damon by the throat.

"Do it. It's not going to stop Esther from killing you," He retorts through gasps, struggling to pry Klaus' hand from his throat.

"What did you say about my mother?" The Original Hybrid snaps, glaring at the Vampire.

"You didn't know I was friends with your mummy?" The cocky Vampire teases him. "Yeah, we have a lot in common. She hates you as much as I do." Klaus goes to punch Damon when Elijah appears at the top of the stairs with Blake and Stefan flanking his sides.

"Leave him! We still need him, Niklaus," Elijah orders his younger brother, who lets go of Damon for now.

"What did mother do? What did she do, Elijah?" Klaus demands, turning to him, and Elijah walks down the stairs towards Damon, holding a phone to him.

"You tell me where the Witches are, or I'll have my sister kill Elena right now," he says, ignoring his brother's glare. Damon looks at the clock tower and sees that it's only 8:30.

"Lorilei told me we had until after nine," Damon argues, glaring at the Noble Original.

"I'm sure Rebekah will be more than happy to start her work early," Elijah retorts, smiling and placing his phone back in his pocket.

Rebekah gets up from the ground inside the tunnels and notices Elena is missing. She runs through the vast tunnels as she tries to escape the Original Blond Vampire. "You can't hide, Elena!" Rebekah shouts, which echoes through the tunnels, making the Doppelganger trip as she looks back and falls. "Not sure why I'm feeling under the weather. Must be your boy toy trying to find a loophole. Won't matter, I could chase you down on my worst day." Elena gets up and finds the entrance to the cave with the Native American drawings. Rebekah finds Elena and grabs her from behind. "Boo!" Elena headbutts the Original and jumps into the cave. "You little bitch!" Rebekah tries entering the cave but can't because of the barrier. "What is this?"

"Sorry. No Vampires allowed," Elena tells her smugly as she stands safe for now inside the cave.

Meredith returns to her apartment and gets an ice pack from the freezer for Alaric as he tries to get up from the sofa. Still, she pushes him back down, not wanting him to move after his encounter with the Original brothers, especially after Kol woke up and nearly killed him. Still, it seems Lorilei healed him enough as a parting gift to get Damon to obey. "No, no, no, no," Meredith tells him.

"Listen, Elena's still out there. I need to go find her," Alaric argues, trying to get up, but his body is still weak.

"Shut up, stay seated, you might have a concussion," She warns him, placing the ice pack on his head.

"So this is your place, huh? Kind of a slob," he comments, looking around the place.

"Housekeeping is not high on my priority list," The Doctor argues, smiling at him.

"I see that," The Vampire Hunter remarks, smiling back at her.

"Look at me," Meredith tells him, shining a light into his eyes. "Pupillary response is normal." Alaric tries sitting up again but shuts his eyes in pain and groans. "You might have a broken rib."

"That kind of sucks, getting my ass kicked on a date," Alaric groans, feeling the pain.

"That's what you get. Picking fights with guys thirty times your age," She jokes, teasing him a little.

"Yeah," he agrees.

"Rest. Damon and Stefan are going to take care of Elena. I am going to take care of you," Dr Fell assures him, and Alaric takes Meredith's hand and smiles.

Damon and Stefan pull into the woods near the Old Witches' House in Damon's car. They must find Bonnie and Abby before Rebekah or any of the Originals decide Elena is fair game. "So how do we know they're going to be at the Old Witch House?" Damon asks his brother.

"We don't. But Lorilei said they will be there. So stop you're worrying because we have about ten minutes until Rebekah tears Elena apart," Stefan retorts, looking at his brother.

"You know if Esther completes her spell, Klaus dies, you don't have to pretend to be his best friend anymore and you can come home. So what's your problem?" He asks, looking at his younger brother.

"I'm not pretending anything, Damon, you need to realise that. My best friend is Lorilei, who has helped me out in more ways than you ever have." The former Ripper snaps, making Damon look at him.

"Well thanks, I feel the love there, Stefan, but they have sort of hex or spell or whatever. Because you're not the same person I remember," the older Salvatore brother retorts angrily at him.

"Let's just get this over with so I can get back home," Stefan growls, getting out of the car.

"Yep," Damon agrees, joining him and locking the car behind them.

"No ones going to steal your car, you know?" He argues, angering Damon a little.

"So, do you want to talk about how we are going to do this?" The cocky Vampire asks his brother. "I mean she's going to hate one of us. Only one of us has to do the actual deed."

"Hm. So, who's it gonna be, brother?" the younger Salvatore brother wonders, not caring either way, and Damon pulls out a coin.

"Well, heads I do it, tails you do it," Damon suggests.

"Awful lot of effort for someone who pretends not to care about her any more?" Stefan asks, looking at him and the coin.

"Pot, kettle, brother," he mutters, rolling his eyes.

"Flip the coin, because it won't matter," the former Ripper snaps and Damon flips the coin, catching it and putting it on top of his other hand. He removes his hand, shocked at the result.

Elena turns on a flashlight and searches for an exit to escape Rebekah when the Original blond Vampire appears before her. "Elena! Let's pick up where we left off," Rebekah suggests, holding a canister filled with gasoline, and she starts throwing some on Elena.

"What are you doing?" Elena asks, gasping as she's splashed with more gasoline. Rebekah pours more around the rest of the cave.

"Thought I'd shake things up a bit," She replies, smirking.

"Are you insane?" The Doppelganger snaps at her, trying to move away.

"I prefer spontaneous. It's probably why Damon likes me so much," The blond Vampire teases her, throwing the canister at Elena, who ducks in time, and the canister hits the back wall instead, and Rebekah pulls out a box of matches. "Here's what's gonna happen." She lights a match and throws it into the cave, starting the fire. "You're gonna come outside," She orders, lighting another match, throwing it into the cave, and starting another fire. "Or you're going to stay in there and burn." The fire burns itself out. "The next match is landing on you. So, Elena, how does it feel to know that these may be your last moments?" She wonders and takes out her phone to record Elena.

"I don't know, you tell me. You're the one whose mother's trying to kill you," The Doppelganger taunts her back, feeling relatively safe right now.

"You should be very careful what you say to me," Rebekah warns her.

"You're still wearing her necklace," Elena argues, pointing to the blond's necklace that once belonged to Esther.

"Do you want it? Is that your last request?" She asks her, ripping the necklace off and throwing it into the cave. "Here. It's all yours."

"She's not doing this because she hates you, Rebekah. She told me that she...she just doesn't have another choice," the Doppelganger tells her, believing Esther's lies.

"Spare me your pity, Elena. We're not girlfriends," The blond Original snaps. "Want me to prove it? Just say the word." She lights another match.

"You're not gonna do it," Elena argues, shaking her head.

"And why is that?" Rebekah asks her.

"Because there's still a chance that you might be alive tomorrow. And if that's the case and you kill me now, you'll have used up all of your revenge. Wasted it and isn't that what you want? Revenge? Because I- I pretended to like you and then I stuck a dagger in your back. I mean, that's why you slept with Damon, isn't it? That's why you're tormenting me, because I hurt your feelings," She guesses, and the match burns out, making Rebekah drop it.

"The tough act doesn't suit you," the Original Vampire remarks. Looking at her and thinking about her words, she finds she's very right. If she lives past tomorrow, she wants her revenge to last sometime.

"I never said I was tough. But we both know that I'm right," The Doppelganger retorts, eyeing Rebekah.

Finn finds himself standing in the centre of the pentagram at the Old Witches' House, wishing he was anywhere else. "They're coming," Finn mutters, but Esther hears him.

"No, it's too soon, the moon is not high enough. Go! Quickly!" Esther shouts, herding Bonnie and Abby into the house before joining Finn inside the pentagram. Kol, Elijah, Klaus, and Lorilei walk up to stop the Original Witch. "My sons and Lorilei, come forward."

"What are you going to do, mother?" He asks her, looking at her and then at his brothers and Lorilei.

"It's okay. They can't enter," she assures him. Kol approaches the pentagram, but the torches around it flare up bright, driving back.

"That's lovely. We're stuck out here, while the favourite son plays sacrificial lamb. How pathetic you are, Finn," Kol snaps, and Lorilei looks at Finn, seeing the regret in his eyes.

"Be quiet, Kol. Your brother knows virtue you cannot even imagine," The Original Witch snaps at her youngest son.

"Whatever you think of us, killing your own children will be an atrocity," Elijah snaps back at her.

"My only regret is that I did not let you die a thousand years ago," Esther sneers and Finn looks at her in horror.

"Enough. All this talk is boring me. End this now, Mother, or I'll send you back to Hell," Klaus snaps at her, glaring at the woman.

"For a thousand years, I've been forced to watch you. Felt the pain of every victim, suffered while you shed blood," She shouts and looks at her children. "Even you, Elijah, with your claim to nobility, you're no better. All of you. You're a curse on this Earth. Stretched out over generations. If you've come to plead for your life, I'm sorry, you've wasted your time."

Abby and Bonnie steadily walk through the Old Witches' House, trying to stay hidden while everything goes on outside. "This place has some serious vibe in it," Abby remarks, looking around the decaying house.

"The Witch spirits will protect us from the Originals, but we should get into the basement," Bonnie tells her, walking down into the basement, but Abby doesn't follow. "Abby!" she shouts, noticing her mum hasn't followed her. Suddenly, Damon appears in front of her, thinking Abby is with her. "Damon? What's going on?"

"They took Elena. They're going to kill her unless we stop Esther," Damon informs her.

"Damon, I- I can't stop her. She's channelling us!" She tells him, scared of what he'll do.

"Bonnie, if you can't stop her. I have to find another way," He warns her, and they look at each other for a moment as she grows more scared.

"No… Damon, no," The young Bennett Witch pleads and tries escaping, but Damon rushes over and blocks her exit. "What are you gonna do? Even if you kill us, Esther is channelling every Witch in our ancestry, living and dead."

"Esther's drawing from the Witches. The only way to cut her off is if one of you is no longer a Witch," The cocky Vampire argues. Meanwhile, upstairs, Stefan quickly grabs Abby before biting into his wrist and feeding her his blood.

"This will only hurt a second. I'm sorry, but I will do anything for my family," Stefan assures her before killing her.

Outside, Esther feels the connection to the Bennett Witches disappearing. "No!" Esther shouts. "Sisters! Do not abandon me!" The pentagram torches flare up, and Finn grabs Esther while the other brothers and Lorilei cower from the flames, Klaus shielding Lorilei. After a moment, the torches die out. Elijah, Klaus, Kol, and Lorilei stand around in shock, seeing Finn holding Esther as she struggles with his firm grip.

"What made you change your mind?" Lorilei asks him, looking at Finn.

"It seems different now, I don't have to be such a monster anymore," Finn replies, looking at his brothers.

"Was it the packaged blood, brother?" Kol wonders, looking at his eldest brother, who nods.

"Things have changed. And I see things more clearer now," He replies and shoves Esther to Klaus, who holds her tightly.

"Will you be staying, Finn?" Lorilei asks him, smiling kindly at him.

"If you will have me," The older Mikaelson brother replies, looking at her and his brothers.

"Always and Forever, Finn," Elijah assures him.

"Now, Mama Original, what are we going to do with you?" Lorilei muses, turning to Esther and waving her hand, making the Original Witch fall unconscious. "That should keep her asleep until we know what to do with her." She looks at the brothers. "So, what's for dinner?" The brothers look at each other and can't help but laugh at the Siphon, who smiles back at them.

In the cave, Elena sits on the ground, waiting for news or Rebekah to kill her, when the blond Original calls out to her after receiving a phone call from her brother Elijah. "You can come out now. Seems your ex-boyfriend took care of the problem."

"How did he do that?" Elena asks her, getting up and dusting herself off.

"Stefan turned your Witch friend's mother into a Vampire," She informs, seeing the Doppelganger's face fall.

"What?" The Doppelganger questions in shock.

"Quite clever, actually," the blond Original remarks. "They needed to sever the Witch line, and, well, you can't be a Witch and a Vampire. In any case, you're free to go. Oh, and, uh, by the way, you were right. I do prefer taking my time watching you suffer. Much more satisfying."

Abby lies on Caroline's bed as she transitions. Bonnie needs someone other than Elena because this is all to save her, and the young Bennett Witch is sitting beside her on the bed, holding her hand and crying. Caroline stands on the front porch, talking to Elena, who immediately heads to Bonnie's house, but her dad says she is at Caroline's, which is weird, considering Caroline hasn't spoken to either of them for a while now. "She doesn't want to see you," Caroline tells her for the tenth time.

"Please, just let me talk to her," Elena begs, wanting to fix everything with sweet words.

"Abby's in transition. It's going to be really hard over the next few days, and if Bonnie needs some time to deal, then I think you should give it to her," she tells her, sighing at the sad look on her former friend's face.

"She's always been there for me, Caroline. Please, let me just be there for her, too," the Doppelganger pleads with her.

"I'm sorry, Elena. I know that you want to help, but put yourself in her shoes. Everything that happened tonight was to save you, and that's okay for you because she loves you—so much. But somehow, she's always the one who gets hurt," the blond Vampire argues, wanting to be there for the young Bennett Witch. Elena nods in understanding, tears running down her face.

"You know, you're right. I just...just tell her that I love her, okay?" Elena asks her.

"Of course I will," Caroline assures her, watching Elena walk away as Bonnie stands in the hallway, crying. Caroline steps back inside to see her friend crying. She rushes to her, holding her sobbing friend.

Damon washes his hands in the bathroom at the Boarding House, dries them, and puts his ring back on when Stefan steps into the room. "Is she safe?" Damon asks him, looking at his brother.

"Elijah kept his word. Rebekah let her go," Stefan informs him.

"Good. All's right in the world again," He remarks, moving into the bedroom and picking up his glass of whiskey. "I lost that coin toss, Stefan. It should have been me who turned Abby. Why did you do it?"

"Cause I'm not blind," The former Ripper retorts. "I see what's been going on around here. You're hanging by a thread, Damon. You need something to cling onto that isn't trying to return me to my mopey old self. Because that part of me is gone for good."

"Oh yeah? How long has it been since you've had a drop of human blood?" The older Salvatore brother wonders.

"What are you talking about?" Stefan snaps. "I drink human blood, Damon, I have for months."

"Okay, okay, fine. You seem to be handling it a little better," Damon remarks, raising the glass to his mouth and drinking.

"I am, it's all thanks to Lorilei," he tells his brother, making him cringe visibly.

"Seriously?! What did she do to you that makes her so special?" the cocky Vampire asks him.

"She helped me, told me I wasn't such a monster and that I just needed to figure things out about myself," the younger Salvatore brother explains. "She got me to realise that the blood wasn't controlling me."

"What do you mean the blood wasn't controlling you?" Damon asks him.

"I have issues, that's all. Everything in my past made me out of control with blood, and fixing them made the control easier, along with some herbs and talking to someone, which I sometimes do," Stefan explains. Damon looks at his baby brother in a new light before leaving the room, needing time to think about everything.

Elena returns from the cave home and walks into her bedroom. She spots a letter on her bed, picks it up, opens it, sees it's Elijah, and reads it: "Elena, today I did things I abhor to protect the one thing I value most: my family. If anyone can understand that, it's you. Your compassion is a gift, Elena. Carry it with you, as I will carry my regret. Always and forever. Elijah."

Rebekah returns from torturing Elena and comes home to find Elijah staring out the window at the vast garden, where Lorilei and Klaus are sitting, enjoying a glass of wine together. "Where the bloody hell is everyone?" Rebekah asks him, joining him at the window and sees Lorilei and Klaus. "Well there there, where are the others?"

"Kol is sulking in his room and Finn is packing a bag," Elijah replies, sighing.

"Where's mother?" She asks, wanting to give her a few choice words to the woman who wants to kill her and her family.

"We have no mother. Only Esther, and Esther was right," He retorts, looking away from the window at his sister.

"What do you mean?" The blond Original wonders, seeing regret in his eyes.

"My talk of virtue. When it suits my needs, I kill, maim, and torment. Even today, I terrorised an innocent," The Noble Original remarks, thinking of Elena.

"Elena is hardly innocent," Rebekah argues, and Klaus and Lorilei step inside.

"Very right, Bekah," Lorilei agrees, looking at Elijah.

"And I used Rebekah's hatred of her to get what I wanted. Wielded you like I would a sword. My sister," Elijah argues, looking at them.

"You did it to protect us, Elijah, and rightly so! We deserve to live! We are better than they are," Rebekah snaps.

"Are we? Mother made us Vampires. She didn't make us monsters, we did that to ourselves," He retorts, walking out of the room.

"Let me sort this out," Lorilei mutters, following him upstairs to his bedroom. "You know, your self-loathing is getting old."

"Please don't, Lorilei," The suit-wearing Original pleads with her, grabbing a bag.

"We did the right thing," she tells him. "We protected our own. You taught me that. And no offence, but Elena and her little gang are in the wrong, because I found something interesting while I was looking at unlinking everyone."

"What did you find?" Elijah asks her, stopping his packing.

"Are you sure you care?" The Siphon retorts, folding her arms.

"What did you find?" He repeats, and she smiles.

Downstairs, Klaus moves into the parlour at the fireplace, burning some papers, when Rebekah comes in behind him. "I thought you'd have gone by now. Elijah might be leaving. Kol's sulking in his room because Lorilei won't let him kill Damon just yet. Finn is packing a bag to go with my girlfriend out of town. And Esther is in the basement," Klaus grumbles.

"I hated you when I learned you killed our mother. But I realise now that after a thousand years together as a family, you're the one of the only ones who never left me." Rebekah remarks, looking at her brother.

"Well, aren't we a pair?" He jokes, looking at her.

"There's something I need you to see," She tells him, pulling out her phone and holding it up to show Klaus the video of Elena she took earlier in the tunnels.

"Come to brag about your skills as a torturer?" The Original Hybrid questions, taking the phone and looking at the screen.

"Look at the images on the wall behind Elena," the blond Original snaps. "The Natives told the story of our family history; look at the images on the far wall."

"What is it?" Klaus questions, squinting.

"A Native worshipping at the Great White Oak tree," Rebekah informs him.

"And? We burned that tree to the ground," He argues, not understanding what she's getting into.

"Look at the markings that precede it. That's the Native calendar," She snaps, showing him.

"This can't be right," The Hybrid mutters, finally getting it.

"A White Oak tree, three hundred years after we fled back to the Old World. There must have been a sapling, a new tree to replace the old. That tree could kill us. It's not over, Nik," The Original Sister tells him.

"We need Lorilei," Klaus tells her, marching out of the room.

Alaric finds himself waking up on the sofa at Meredith's Apartment and gets up, walking over to the bathroom. He glances inside to see Meredith asleep in her bed. He heads into the kitchen to grab some medication and quickly takes it, wanting to stop the headache and body ache from coming back from the dead. He notices his hospital inpatient medical file lying on the counter and briefly opens it before returning it. Then, he notices another one, opens it to see it's Bill Forbes, and rifles through it. There are crime scene photos of the knife used to kill him, and he soon finds the same knife wrapped in a cloth. He suddenly hears a gun click and looks up to see Meredith holding a handgun at him. "You weren't supposed to see that," Meredith remarks before shooting him.

Klaus marches into Elijah's room to see Lorilei and her brother talking. "We have a problem," Klaus tells them, and they look at each other.

"Another one?" Lorilei groans, making her boyfriend look at them.

"What do you mean another one?" He asks them.

"Lorilei found something interesting when she was looking at spells to unlink us," Elijah explains.

"I found out that if an Original dies, their entire Sireline dies with them. Esther wasn't just trying to kill you and your siblings, she was trying to wipe out the entire Vampire race," Lorilei informs Klaus, who looks at them. "What did you find?"

"White Oak Tree," Klaus says, and Lorilei sneers.

"Do we ever get a break in this damn town?" She snaps. "Where is it?"

"I was hoping you could find out," He replies, and she sighs.

"You do know I have to be in New York the day after tomorrow," The Siphon reminds him.

"No, you said you had to go out of town," The Original Hybrid retorts.

"Why do you have to go to New York?" Elijah asks her, knowing she got a phone call on their way back to the mansion from someone about something.

"I'm still technically employed by the University, and no one is a better lecturer than me. I'm going down for a few days to guest lecture, and I thought I'd take Finn to explore." Lorilei informs the middle brothers. "Don't argue, Nik. Finn will be there to "protect me" even though I can very well do so myself and he still needs to figure things out for himself."

"Fine, but I want texts and calls," Klaus tells her, pulling her into his arms.

"I will, I promise," She assures him. "So, you want me to find the White Oak Tree?"

"Immediately, Damon is still hellbent on killing us," Elijah warns her.

"Got it," the older McKnight Witch agrees, moving out of the room to see Kol strolling the hallway, looking bored. "Kol, do you want to help me?"

"Please, I am deadly bored," Kol beams, moving towards her, and they head into her study.

Kol closes the door, and Lorilei looks at him questioningly. He moves towards her. "Going to kill me, are we Kol?" Lorilei jokes, but he seems serious.

"I need to talk to you privately," Kol tells her, and she grabs some sage and performs the privacy spell. "Are we safe to talk?"

"Yeah, what is it?" She asks him, grabbing a local map of Mystic Falls and placing it on her desk.

"I heard you and Elijah talking," He informs her.

"What, just now, because I don't think that requires-" the Siphon argues, grabbing candles to cast a location spell.

"The night of the ball," The chaotic Mikaelson corrects her, making her stop in shock and turn around to look at him. "I didn't mean to, but I'm sorry about what happened to you."

"Thank you, Kol, but I'm okay, I've lived with it for years now. I've lost my fair share and I know I can never have children of my own," Lorilei assures him.

"What if you could?" Kol questions, making her look at him.

"Like placing the baby into someone else's body?" She asks, making him look at her in shock.

"You've already found the spell?" He gasps, smiling at her.

"Of course, who do you take me for?" The McKnight Witch smirks at him. "But I couldn't do that to someone I don't trust or even like. And I'd have to tell Klaus about what happened over the summer, and I don't know if we could survive that."

"I know my brother can be hard around the edges, but I think Klaus would be a wonderful father, and I will deny that if you ever tell him I said that," The mischievous Mikaelson retorts. "And I'm sure he will understand why you didn't tell him."

"Thank you, Kol. You're not as bad as you think you are," Lorilei says, making Kol fake a gasp. "So, location spell to find White Oak. Easy enough." She closes her eyes and lights the candles before placing the White Oak ash into the centre of the map. The flames flare up as the ash moves across the map. Lorilei opens her eyes and looks at the map with a smile, seeing that the ash has moved to the Wickery Bridge.

"Found it?" Kol asks her, and she turns to him.

"Yep, better tell them they get to burn a bridge," Lorilei replies, smiling.

Rebekah and Kol head to the Wickery Bridge, smiling at the thought of unleashing Hell on Mystic Falls and ensuring that nothing can kill them. At the same time, Klaus and Elijah stay at home to make sure Esther can't escape, though she is still unconscious, lying in the basement in chains, while they figure out a way to stop her spell and keep her from ever messing with the Original Family again. "Sister dear, would you do the honour?" Kol asks, holding up a match as he holds the gasoline.

"Why thank you, brother," Rebekah replies, smiling and taking the match. "Shame Lorilei and Finn couldn't be here for this."

"They're on their way to New York as we speak," he reminds her.
