Takes place while RWBY + JNR are in Argus.

Weiss was walking down the streets of Argus, looking for Oscar. They just got back from a very rough time in the snowy outskirts and told Jaune and his team what they discovered from the Lamp. Jaune proceeded to get furious and... Things went south rather quickly. Then a while after, Oscar's missing and they all split up to look for him.

Looking for Oscar was the goal but... Her mind couldn't help but wander to Jaune.

She's never seen him so angry before. The way he marched right up to Oscar, blowing passed her despite her verbal attempts to stop him. Her voice alone would always get his attention, whether she wanted it to or not... Usually not- but that was besides the point!

The way he just ignored her made her feel... Lesser, somehow. Like she lost some metaphorical grasp on him. Not that she wanted to 'control' him but knowing her words, attitude, and... Even touch could affect him was... Nice in a way. It let her know he cared. It was something she didn't realize she had or even desired until that moment he paid her no mind.

She ended up wandering into a park of some kind, glancing around for Oscar as she sorted out her thoughts.

It wasn't like she could blame Jaune... He had a right to be angry. Ozpin hid the truth regarding his teammate. Even Pyrrha hid the truth from him... Then she goes and dies and... What was-

Weiss gasps, now looking up at a fairly large statue of the Invincible Girl herself.

Her frustration got the better of her. She wasn't even looking for Oscar anymore, just venting to herself and wandered into some park dedicated to Pyrrha of all people... She did hear this was her home, but still. What were the chances?

Her fists clenched, staring up at the Champion. Her own anger was beginning to boil now and her teeth grit. She let out a sigh, relaxing slightly but still kept a glare aimed at the statue.

"Why did you have to go and die like that?" Weiss asked Pyrrha's statue aloud. "You go fight a battle all alone... Just to leave our world..." She looked down. "You left us... Left Jaune... He's devastated..." Weiss' shoulders slumped and she lowered her gaze a bit.

"He throws his life away to avenge you..." She thought back to the time he attacked Cinder back at Haven Academy.

"He's angry, bottling everything up..." She then looked back at the anger he displayed against Oscar just earlier today.

She sighed. "I bet your the only reason he even came along with us this far." She looked up and glared angrily at the statue.

"It's all about you." She nearly spat. "Because you lost one time!" She raised a single finger for emphasis. "You're supposed to be the 'Invincible Girl'! You don't lose!" She knew her emotions were getting the better of her here, she was talking to a statue for crying out loud. But she didn't care, it was all too frustrating.

"Now, Jaune will never forget about you and- and..." She stuttered, crossing her arms and looking away. She felt gross right now, taking out her emotions about Jaune on Pyrrha. She knew the two of them were growing closer... How close? She wasn't sure. But the way Jaune acts about her now... She can't help but think his feelings for her became something... More... Possibly more than his towards herself.

And she hated that.

She let out a groan of frustration and rubbed her temples. She was just riling herself up at this point. What was the point in taking her frustrations out on a statue?!

"Weiss?"

A voice called out to her from behind. Not just any voice, but the one who's been plaguing her mind for days now. She turned around and saw Jaune walking closer.

"I thought I heard you. Any luck finding Osc-" he stopped short and she watched his gaze go up to Pyrrha's statue. She saw how his eyes widened and his expression went from shock to some form of sadness. Likely a mix of the two.

"Oh..." He breathed and slowly walked up further.

Weiss followed him with her gaze until he was beside her then turned to look up at the statue with him. She still felt that frustration in her underbelly, especially as she saw Jaune stare at Pyrrha's statue with such a longing expression.

There was a silence between them for a few moments until Jaune broke it. "She's really something... There's even a statue of her..."

Weiss glanced over to see his hands clenched, even shaking slightly. She wasn't sure if he was more angry or on the verge of tears while seeing this memorial.

She looked back at the statue. "Yes, she is..." Then reached over and placed her hand over Jaune's fist. She could feel him jolt a bit, but accepted her touch and his tremble subsided. A bit of pride swelled in her chest as she realized her touch still meant something to him, however small.

Though they stood there in silence once again. What was she to say to him? Was there even anything more to say? There was nothing she could do or say to take his pain away. Pyrrha would forever haunt his memories... How was she to repair his heart like this?

Her thoughts went back to what occurred at Haven... Jaune running off on a suicide assault on Cinder... His actions... His words... Talking as if he didn't matter...

Her touch turned into a grasp on his fist and she felt him relax further.

"Jaune." She spoke softly. She saw him flinch again and like last time a small flicker of pride flashed through her chest. Like her touch, her voice seemed to reach him just as well.

"I... Well..." What was she to say now? What were the magic words that could flip things around, if any?

"Jaune... I-..." She looked up at him and paused, thinking on how to word this. Though he did turn his head towards her slightly as she spoke, seemingly hung on her words which coaxed her into continuing for better or worse. "At Haven Academy... I was one of the ones you said 'mattered' before you ran in and attacked Cinder..." She started. "And well... You... Matter to me, so... Don't go running into danger like that again, least without me." She said and glanced downward, embarrassed. While she never minced words, she also wasn't one to speak so openly like this...

Her hand held onto his a bit tighter as she said that, unsure of what his response would be if he had any. Did what she said even make sense? Would he care? Could her words truly reach him like this?

First of all this entire scenario they're currently in was all about Pyrrha. The only reason Weiss is even standing here, holding Jaune's hand, and having the opportunity to comfort him was because of another woman. In the back of her mind that irritated her. It was a swirl of emotions where she wanted to selflessly be there for Jaune while also selfishly be the center of his attention. What kind of despicable lady was she becoming?

She-

Suddenly his fist fully opened and grasped her hand. Her eyes widened and a slight gasp left her lips as she turned and took up towards him. He was looking down at her with a conflicted expression.

"I'm uhm..." He spoke, seemingly unsure what to say himself. "I just..." He took a deep breath. It looked like he had a difficult time getting his words straight.

"I- it's okay." Weiss spoke, giving him a reassuring smile. It was bit forced considering the conversation, but she felt it got the message through.

Jaune turned fully towards her now and she accommodated him by doing the same, their hands still in an embrace. His expression seemed brighter which made her chest do a somersault. Something in the air suddenly changed. Rather than them staring morbidly at a memorial statue of their dead comrade, they were now staring in one another's eyes. Her smiles suddenly didn't feel as forced.

She didn't really have time to think about it as Jaune's deep blue eyes, his content smile, and the way his hand held her own all engulfed her world. Her mind began to get a bit fuzzy as she stared at him.

"Weiss... I... I uhm..." His voice made her shiver in this moment. Was he going to ask her out again? Or maybe simply speak his feelings for her plainly? She was hung on his every word, desperately waiting for what felt like an eternity.

Wait, was that even proper right now? They were standing right before Pyrrha's memorial. Something about that felt... Wrong, in a way. Could she really accept Jaune's feelings with Pyrrha staring down at them?

As her eyes stayed focused on Jaune, feeling his hands in her own, looking up at his tall stature which dwarfed her own. She knew that... Yes, she certainly could.

But... It... It was Jaune's decision in the end. If he would only speak up!

"Just say the words." Her thoughts focused in a desperate desire to hear him ask her out once more. "I'll even take a stupid serenade again at this point!"

He seemed to be having trouble getting out whatever he wanted to say, releasing a frustrated sigh. She couldn't completely blame him though. After everything he went through with Pyrrha, as well as everything she put him through in the past likely made this difficult.

She gave his hands a reassuring squeeze.

"Yes, Jaune?" She asked in at attempt to coax him forward. With the physical touch to try making him feel a tad more comfortable.

It was there that she watched his expression lose its timidness. His eyes honed in on her own and she felt her heart skip a beat. The confidant expression he was giving her was one straight out of her dreams. No. It was more than that. This was confidance that she gave him, not some silly dream. These were real emotions that her words and touch brought out of him.

"Weiss, will you co-"

"JAUNE!"

Weiss' eyes went wide as she heard Nora of all people call out Jaune's name. She could recognize her voice anywhere.

"Huh-?" She seemed surprised too.

Acting instantly, she tore her hands away from Jaune and turned her body away from his, crossing her arms.

A second later, Nora was suddenly within line of sight, at the enterance to the opening in the park. She turned off to the side for a second to call for Ren just as loudly, saying she found him.

Weiss frowned. She was so close. He was so close. They just needed a few more moments alone! Because of Nora she had to separate herself from him and-

Wait... Why did she have to separate herself from Jaune? Her head dipped downward a bit as she throught. It wasn't like she was afraid to be with him or anything. W- well... He somewhat makes her nervous... But in a good way!

She turned her head to glance up at him. He wasn't even looking at her anymore. Just whimsically staring off towards Nora as she dragged Ren over.

Was he upset that they couldn't finish too? Was... He upset at her for pulling away? She didn't mean to do it so haphazardly it just... Happened in a panick...

Nora ran up with Ren right behind her, carrying two cups of coffee.

"Hey! We've been lookin' for you!" She said and turned to Weiss and chuckled a bit. "Though looks like Weiss got to you first." She said and gave a sly grin.

Jaune just chuckled a bit. "Y- yeah... We were just talking about... Well." He turned and looked up at Pyrrha's memorial statue behind them.

Nora and Ren both looked up and it seemed the mood dawned on them.

"O- oh..." Nora mumbled. Meanwhile Ren handed Jaune a cup of Coffee. Then turned to Weiss. "Sorry, We didn't get another."

She nodded. "It's fine."

"Here, take mine." Jaune said, handing her his own with a smile.

Weiss looked up at him and took it without thinking. She was simply too emotional at the moment. Not because of Pyrrha either, but due to Jaune's... Everything. "O- oh.. Uhm... Sure. Thanks." She said and took a small sip from the coffee while continuing to keep her eyes staring up and Jaune. He didn't seem too upset... At least she doubts he held anything against due to her foolish action moments ago.

She could hear Nora snicker just a little. But then all took a place in a line, staring up at Pyrrha's statue. Honestly... She felt a little out of place now. When it was just her and Jaune, sure. Being there for him was nice. But with Ren and Nora here, it felt like she was a fourth wheel... No, maybe it was better to say she felt like a fifth wheel.

Jaune, Nora, Pyrrha, and Ren. JNPR. There wasn't a W for Weiss in JNPR. This wasn't a moment she should be involved in, it was theirs...

"I uhm... I'll get going." She said and turned to leave.

Though she quickly felt a hand grab her empty one. It was one she recently became firmly acquainted with, too. Turning, she saw Jaune reaching out to her, even giving her a short tug to have her fall back in line with them.

"No, uhm... I'd like it if you stayed."

Her eyes went wide at his daring request and she felt her cheeks feel a bit hot despite the chilled weather. Her eyes drifted a bit off to see Ren and Nora. The former seemed to have no opinion while Nora just smiled a bit and shrugged silently.

When she glanced back at Jaune she fixed her postured and stood with the three of them. "... Sure." She answered.

He never let go of her hand.

This one felt weird because I feel like I interfered in a good JNPR moment for a shipping one. But I also don't mind because who cares, whatever. It was fun to write regardless.
