Here it is, the seventh full chapter of Miraculous Quirks released a lot earlier than expected. Yeah I am in a bit of an editing mood and got this out a lot faster than I expected (I also couldn't sleep because Hypnos hates me) so here is this nice filler, further developmental chapter nice and early for y'all to enjoy and there may even be another by the end of the day. There are no questions to respond to here and no guest reviews to answer so I will leave this note here which means that it is time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the 7th full chapter of Miraculous Quirks.

Disclaimer: I do not own either of these great works of fiction.

Chapter 7: Battle Trial Aftermath

"Agreste, a word." A voice said as Adrien pulled his shirt on. "If you have a moment that is."

Adrien turned, buttoning and tucking in the dress shirt as he did, to see that the speaker was the bird headed Tokoyami who was already fully dressed and clearly waiting for him with his costume case in one of his hands. Adrien was a little surprised that his classmate had waited for him but was more than willing to chat. He wanted to be friends with all his classmates, so it was a good start that one he hadn't yet spoken to wanted to chat with him.

It was right after their battle trial with All Might in their first heroics class. The exercise had been interesting and informative regarding a potential situation that they might encounter in the field someday when they were fully licensed heroes. Even the random pairs that they had been put in, except for him and Marinette as this was their first real assessment in combat and to show off how Francois Dupont did things, had been educational as in the field you never knew who you might end up in a team with.

In the end the exercises had some surprises, mainly Midoriya besting Bakugo without injuring him though at the cost of injuring himself, as well as showing the clear gap between some people in the class. Adrien and Marinette had shown off their teamwork and abilities and put themselves near the top of the class but that would only motivate the others to work hard so that they could surpass them, something Adrien was looking forward to. The best way to get better was to get stronger together.

Adrien himself had watched all the battles closely to see the level of his classmates and had made a few correct assessments when asked by All Might for the class's feedback. He'd seen the footage of the entrance exams but that could only tell him so much as robots weren't much of a challenge, real human on human combat was key to understanding one's power.

That was why Adrien now knew that Tokoyami was one of the stronger members of the class when it came to raw combat. His Quirk, Dark Shadow, was especially good in combat situations and ranged fighting and had easily taken care of Kirishima and his Hardening Quirk and distracted Sero long enough for Asui, Tokoyami's partner, to use her own Frog Quirk and the agility it gave her to avoid Sero's tape and secure the bomb for their team.

"Sure, what do you want to talk about Tokoyami." Adrien said as he pulled on his jacket and grabbed his case, he decided not to put on the tie as it was the end of the day, and they were just packing up class before going home so he didn't need it. "Does it have to do with the Battle Trial we just did?"

"In a sense yes." Tokoyami said as they left the changing room, the last two as Adrien had opted to shower after the trial so took a little longer than the others to leave the room. "You and Dupain-Cheng were rather impressive I must say, really in sync as a team."

"Well, that's because we've been fighting and training together for two years, so we know each other really well." Adrien said, which was the truth even if that two years had been over 230 years ago, and which the Guardians had factored in when they began the long plan to prepare their backstory. "Francois Dupont, like most European schools, is a 5-year program so we began at 13. They have a test at the start, and if you are accepted then you are paired with a partner who will complement your skills for heroics there. Marinette and I were paired together, though we didn't know our identities back then as those are secret for hero students and have been training together ever since."

"I see, that is an interesting way to do it, but I can clearly see the benefits of a system like that." Tokoyami said with a nod. "I am aware that other nations have different school systems when it comes to high school and that Japan is a little different in being a 3-year program. I heard that in America it's 4 years, I didn't realize that it was 5 in Europe."

"It's an interesting system for sure." Adrien said. "But it's good and it is why Marinette, and I were allowed to come to U.A. as we had the skills to pass the transfer test when it was offered. I believe there's a girl in 1-B who also passed the test but from an American school though I don't know her at all."

"I don't know the other class well so I can't say." Tokoyami replied as they walked. "But it does explain why you two are already at the same level as Todoroki in terms of combat abilities. It shows how hard we have to work to close that gap."

"I don't know, I think in terms of combat you are at least on the way to matching us." Adrien said. "Your Dark Shadow is pretty strong a Quirk and with its mobility and sentience it could easily give me a challenge. I can't destroy it so it would come down to whether I could reach you before Dark Shadow beat me."

"Yes he is strong, and it means a lot for someone of your skill level to notice that and admit that you'd struggle against him." Tokoyami said with pride at his Quirk and friend's skill while avoiding mentioning his one big weakness. "And I look forward to showing it off at the Sports Festival, hopefully against you if it works out that way. Actually, I am glad that you mentioned Quirks. That is the reason I wanted to talk to you. I want to ask you about your Quirk."

"What about it?" Adrien asked calmly but internally wary just in case Tokoyami had noticed something off. "I know I didn't show it off in the assessment test but as you saw, it's not one a Quirk that can be tested normally though I am sure that Mr. Aizawa will have a special set of tests for me soon just as he said he would. I did show off the inherited side effects of generations of Quirk marriages though."

"So that is why you are above human normal in those departments." Tokoyami said. "And I presume Dupain-Cheng is the same. She didn't show it as much as you did in the assessment, but it was still noticeable at times and her abilities today confirmed it."

"Yeah it was a huge fad in the upper classes of Europe back in the day." Adrien said. "Really worked with the mentality over there given our history with arranged marriages and noble power."

"As it did here from what I've heard though it is thankfully not approved of now." Tokoyami said. "But I can see why you couldn't show off your Quirk in that test."

"Kinda hard to when it destroys anything inorganic I touch so I can't throw that ball or grip and it is of no use in physical test like running and jumping." Adrien said. "Though I can only keep it active for about 5 minutes at a time before I run out of energy to power it and need to recharge. Practice will increase the time though."

"So, you do create that dark energy." Tokoyami said thinking, impressed that Agreste had been able to harness the abyss the way he had with his Quirk. "That is interesting. I was curious about it as you are like me, you walk the path of darkness."

"In a sense you could say that." Adrien said a little confused but realizing that this was part of Tokoyami's apparently slightly archaic personality, likely due to his Quirk, and doing his best to understand it which surprisingly he did in a sense as he knew what his power came from before Mage made it his Quirk and Tokoyami didn't know how right he was about the darkness that Adrien could harness. "My Quirk, Cataclysm as it is called, is in a sense the very essence of pure destruction in the world. It is the blackness that fills the void in the world from whence creation can come."

"That is an apt way of describing it and a fitting name for a Quirk with that kind of power." Tokoyami said with a nod, impressed by how well Agreste understood his own Quirk and the nature of the abyss he too had looked into. "When I saw your costume, I had a feeling your power was one that knew the black abyss but when I saw that black energy you created, I knew that it was the abyss itself you were harnessing. The sheer destruction you showed in that first battle took us all by surprise though, we didn't expect that to be your power and in time it could become something few can reckon with."

"I can destroy what I touch when it is active." Adrien said looking at his right hand. "So, I don't show it off and only use it when I need to, such dark power must be used responsibly by those who have been graced with it as you know well. It does fit well with Marinette's Quirk though; it's why I think we were paired together 2 years ago as we complement each other well."

"Yes her Quirk can create whatever she needs to accomplish the task she has in her mind, as Ida and Uraraka discussed for all to hear while we were watching your first battle." Tokoyami said. "It is as if fate put you two together and more. I am not blind; I know that you two are a couple."

"We aren't exactly subtle on that front; we do have a lot of time to make up." Adrien said with a chuckle. "We spent too long being in love and not realizing it thanks to how Francois Dupont works so we are making up for what we missed over the last few years. Well, that and I need to make sure Mineta knows that my lady is off limits, not that it will stop him creeping I fear."

"I think he got that point first hand in your match with him and Yaoyorozu." Tokoyami said with a smile. "She really kicked him and took him out the way a hero should, the window entrance was a nice touch by the way."

"Yeah we kinda forgot our strength today." Adrien said a little embarrassed. "Most of the people I sparred with back in France either had similar inherited traits or at least had suits made by Technus that helped absorb our hits. Marinette has already gone to check on Jiro, and Mineta, to make sure they're ok after our battles. I'm going to see Yaoyorozu myself once I drop this off, to make sure that there are no hard feelings after I beat her. I do agree though, Marinette's use of the window pretty cool and unexpected."

"A sensible idea, something we should all get used to when we have similar exercises." Tokoyami said as they reached the classroom. "I will leave you to it then, I just wanted to talk about your Quirk a bit as I feel like we can relate on the understanding of darkness as we both know the endless black void well."

"That we can." Adrien said with a nod. "Only those who walk the path of darkness and know what the powers it contains can truly understand it."

"That is true." Tokoyami said. "Though I do ask this of you Agreste. Should we ever face off in battle, do not hold back. Dark Shadow and I can take whatever you've got, and we are really looking forward to the time we can battle you."

"I wouldn't dream of it." Adrien said with a grin. "And I expect the same from you Tokoyami."

Tokoyami just nodded as they entered the classroom to store their things, returned their bags, and then headed back out. Most of the class was already gone, though Adrien did note that only Midoriya's stuff of the 4 students taken to the nurse's office was gone. That meant that Yaoyorozu was still there. Good. Adrien needed to make sure she was ok after their battle as he had a feeling that she was the kind of person who could easily have her confidence destroyed if she lost quickly to a foe no matter how good they were. He wanted to make sure that his classmate was alright after her loss.

Marinette walked down the hallway with her hands behind her back as she returned to their homeroom to grab her things, the light fading outside, ready to go home with Adrien when he was done with his own task, though not ready to start her homework. She had just been to the nurse's office to make sure that Jiro was ok, and that Mineta wasn't too badly hurt, after their battles but Recovery Girl had sent her away as both were still recovering and needed time to rest so she could fully heal them.

That meant that Marinette would have to wait until tomorrow likely, but she could do that. She just had to come up with some way to make it up to Jiro as that was a heavy blow she'd landed when she'd kneed her classmate in the head, after punching her hard enough to almost cause her to vomit. Mineta deserved it for his pervy actions towards the girls, but Jiro was her fault for forgetting her own power, so she'd make it up to the punk girl.

It was as she was walking back that Marinette saw a strange sight. In the middle of the hallway, Uraraka had he face pressed right up against the glass with Ashido and Asui on either of her standing normally as they all looking out and down to the entrance way to the school. Well, this was a chance to talk to some of the girls in her class more, well two of them as she'd already had some chats with Uraraka, so Marinette approached them and looked over the brunette's shoulder at what the other girls were looking at.

Down in the walkway up to U.A. was Midoriya and Bakugo having a heated conversation. Bakugo looked pissed, upset, and on the verge of tears likely due to his loss earlier, while Midoriya, still in his ruined hero costume with his healed right arm in a sling, tried to talk to him.

"What's going on down there?" Marinette asked deciding to make her presence known.

"A fated battle between rivals." Uraraka said seriously not phased at all by Marinette standing right behind her as she was so engrossed in what was going on down below them while both Mina and Tsu jumped at Marinette's arrival.

"Dupain-Cheng, you scared me." Ashido said her black eyes narrowing at the French Chinese girl. "When did you get so light on your feet? I thought that was Agreste after what we saw today"

"Years of training and the indoor shoes we have to wear are really quiet." Marinette said with a chuckle. "Though only in my costume am I actually coordinated. Usually, I'm a total klutz. I'm surprised I made it down this hallway without tripping though again I'll credit the shoes, something I'm still getting used to but oddly I prefer it to how we did things back in France. Also, Adrien isn't here, he usually exacerbates my clumsiness though we've mostly worked out that out since getting to Japan and realizing a few things."

"What does he have to do with it, ribbit?" Tsuyu asked her finger on her chin as Uraraka continued to stare intently at the conversation below them not really paying attention to the other girls now. "Why would Agreste cause you to be clumsy Marinette?"

"Well, back before we realized that we liked each other but didn't know it due to Francois Dupont's system, I was a little love shy around him." Marinette admitted with a slight blush. "Alright, I was very love shy around him. I couldn't speak in sentences around him, often what I go out was super lame or awkward, and I could trip without moving, it was really embarrassing. When we found out that we had liked each other all along without realizing, well it solved a lot of problems and now I am normal around him because I know he loves me as much as I love him."

"That is so cute!" Ashido squealed her heartstrings instantly being pulled the way only an expert harpist could as she heard the romantic and cute tease of Dupain-Cheng's love life. "You will have to tell me the full story one day. I love a good romantic story and I feel like yours is a really good one."

"It is rather sweet so sure, I'll tell you." Marinette said already getting an extremely girly girl and romantic vibe from the confident Acid Quirk user who already was starting to remind her a bit a Alya which was bittersweet in a lot of ways but Marinette pushed the thought of her long gone best friend aside. "But another time as I do need to head home once Adrien is ready."

"Do you two live together?" Tsu asked surprised. "That seems a bit improper, even to me and I'm not one for most proprieties as you well know, ribbit."

"We have separate rooms but yes we do live together." Marinette said not adding that they actually shared a bed every night though they hadn't gone farther than, well Marinette wasn't going to admit how far her and Adrien had gone yet though it wasn't all the way. "And we have a guardian who looks after us as a supervising adult, so we aren't alone."

"Aw that must frustrate you two." Ashido said. "You two are a couple, you should be getting frisky every moment you can. We don't get many as part of the Hero Course and you guys actually live together."

"We've been dating pretty much since we got to Japan and after got clearance to know the other's identity which was what led to us realizing that we liked each other." Marinette said. "And that is all I will say for now. Can't go giving you all my secrets yet now can I Ashido."

"Where is Deku going?" Uraraka asked as Mina pouted and Tsu looked at Marinette intensely the way she did when she was studying someone. "And why is All Might here?"

That got Marinette's attention right away. She quickly looked and saw All Might trying to comfort Bakugo who looked like he was holding back tears before he angrily left while Midoriya was nowhere to be seen so likely back in the building.

That wasn't a good sign and Marinette was worried that Midoriya might have said too much to his old friend and bully to explain the sudden change in his status from Quirkless to having a really powerful Quirk a decade after he should have gotten his Quirk. Course she couldn't do anything about it as the green haired boy was unaware of her and Adrien's knowledge just as he was unaware of their unique arrival situation.

"I don't know but maybe you should go find him." Marinette said to Uraraka. "You two seem to be good friends already, I think he needs a friend right now as I doubt those two even know how to have a healthy conversation. Tell him about the other battles, you know how Midoriya gets when it comes to hero stuff, and he doesn't know what Adrien's Quirk is yet. You can be the one to tell him, he'd like that."

"That's a great idea Dupain-Cheng." Uraraka said pulling away from the window and running off as fast as she could to find Deku. "I'll do just that, that's what friends should do."

"She left in a hurry." Mina said a slight smile on her face, that was something she had to keep an eye on just in case a ship began to sail. "Almost as fast as Ida I'd say."

"They were paired together and had some sort of interaction in their entrance exam I heard so it makes sense." Tsu said neutrally not going where both Marinette and Mina had already gone. "And they're already friends, as is Ida with them, so I'm sure she's gone to find him as well."

"Well, we should all be friends, we will be classmates for 3 years." Marinette said taking Uraraka's spot and turning to face the two other girls as she casually lent her back against the window. "And then pro heroes after that who will work together and rely on one another in the field. Rivalries will be healthy as they will help us get stronger together but deep down we all need to be close."

"Even with that little gremlin." Mina asked. "I've already noticed he's a complete perv."

"That may be but he's part of our class." Marinette said with a sigh. "So, we will have to just train him and hope he improves his ways. If not, well we can always make it clear that we can hold our own against a little creep."

"And you started that today." Mina said with a grin. "That was some kick you gave him and that was after you swung in through the window and bounced him off the floor and then the wall."

"He tried to look up my skirt this morning and after I pointedly made it clear that I was taken yesterday so I had to make it clear that he was not allowed to do that." Marinette said with a shrug. "And show off that I am more than my Quirk in battle."

"Yeah about your Quirk, Marinette." Tsu said. "How does it work? In the first match you created a set of thermal googles that clearly allowed you to see the 'villains' while in the second one you created some speaker thing that must have played a noise that prevented Jiro from searching for you. That's not to mention all the stuff you created in the Quirk assessment test."

"Whenever I use my Quirk, it decides was will be best to accomplish what I wanted to accomplish when I activate it." Marinette explained. "I don't have control over what I create, all I know is that it will be what I need to accomplish the task at hand and as I am not the most linear thinker out there it can be something really unexpected."

"It can be?" Tsu asked confused. "But all that you've created so far, at least from what I've seen, have been relatively easy to guess what they were for even if they were a little out there at times like that rocket launcher thing for the soft ball throw."

"I haven't been faced with a situation that wasn't straightforward yet." Marinette admitted. "The tests were obvious. Then today, in the first match I needed something to find the villains and it gave me those googles. In the second, I needed something to cancel out Jiro's Quirk and it gave me that speaker that played a sound the human ear couldn't hear but Jiro could with her Quirk. She waited it out though which was clever, even if she couldn't beat me in a straight up fight."

"That is really useful." Mina said her eyes wide at Marinette's description of how her Quirk worked. "So, if you used it against us? What do you think you'd get."

"For you it would probably be some alkaline solution or item to neutralize your acid." Marinette guessed. "And for Tsu, it would be something that could incapacitate her frog attributes, but I don't know what that would be so that would be a case of real randomness right there. However, that would be only if I focused specifically on canceling your Quirks and not in the general sense of beating you in combat as that could produce something complete unexpected. It's not an exact science with my Lucky Charm and often I need a moment to figure it out but that too is part of my Quirk though harder to explain."

"Still, that is pretty good, ribbit." Tsu said. "And it allowed you to win both your battles."

"Our training helped a lot as well." Marinette said. "As well as our teamwork, and Adrien's Quirk of course. His does complement mine after all."

"True that was a surprise as well." Mina said recalling how shocked she'd been when Agreste had straight up reduced a wall to dust and rubble with the strange energy he could produce. "I didn't expect him to go through the wall with destruction like that though I'll admit I had no idea what to expect from the one Quirk that Mr. Aizawa said he couldn't test."

"Or destroy the circuit breaker." Tsu added. "That allowed you to split Kaminari off though it was his training and incredible reflexes, which I'll admit are currently better than my own, that allowed him to dodge Kaminari's discharge."

"Adrien is very smart, same level as Yaoyorozu I'd say though her memory is likely better than his due to her training for her Quirk." Marinette said. "And he knows how to use his Quirk well. He was always going to go through the wall in the first match regardless though thanks to my Quirk he was able to know it was the right move and that there was no traps in the way."

"Speaking of your boyfriend." Mina said grinning at the cute blush Marinette got at that, it filled Mina's romantic heart to know that Marinette was so in love with her man that she was still bashful about the term even after what had to be months of dating. "Where is he?"

"He's gone to the nurse's office to make sure that Yaoyorozu is ok." Marinette said. "I just went to check up on Jiro, and Mineta as, and he's going to make sure Yaoyorozu is good as well but after I was done. It's just the right thing to do after the battles."

"I never really thought about that, but it is the right thing to do after a battle, especially if we are to all be friends." Tsu said thinking on Marinette's words. "We should all do it."

"Aren't you worried though?" Mina said. "Adrien talking to Yaoyorozu, and her assets and she'll still be in her costume, which we all know she's basically one misstep from bursting out of though I think she has some strange innocence about nudity and doesn't realize how sexual she's being."

"I am not the jealous type, though there was one girl I was really jealous of back home." Marinette said thinking of Kagami before remembering Chloe as well. "Ok, two girls if I'm being honest and one was a big rival of mine but me and the first girl put it aside and had a healthy rivalry for Adrien in the end. The other one not so much but we'd been like Midoriya and Bakugo long before we both fell for Adrien. Anyway, I trust Adrien and know he's only doing what is right. Besides, he's not into massive tits."

"So, he likes yours just fine." Mina teased causing Marinette to go bright red. "That is so adorable."

"Ashido, I think that this is not appropriate for her or school in general." Tsu said before shifting the topic back. "So how are Jiro and Mineta? You did knock both of them clean out in your battles so I do hope that they are ok."

"Yeah I did knock them out." Marinette said glad for the change of topic and still a little embarrassed by what she did. "And both have concussions thanks to me and Mineta is pretty banged up, but his compact body is apparently pretty durable. They've had a round of healing but are currently sleeping and will be for a while as they regain their energy for a second and final round. Recovery Girl said they'll be fine by tomorrow, so I'll talk to Jiro then and make sure she's ok. Mineta I'll leave once I know that he's ok, he needs to know that that will happen if he tries anything with us."

"I like your style with him." Mina said. "I think I'll have to adopt it and threaten to melt him if he tried anything funny."

"I'm just glad that Jiro will be ok, that was a hard pair of hits she took though it is training so we should expect it." Tsu said. "And Yaoyorozu? How is she doing?"

"That's for Adrien to determine though she was up when I was there, but she wasn't in the mood to chat." Marinette said. "I hope she's fine though, that was a quick loss, and it can mess with a person's confidence if she dwells on it too much."

"She'll be fine, she got in on recommendations, so she'll be good as soon as she's recovered." Mina said. "Though we should probably get going, it is pretty late, and I have a bit of trek to get home."

"That it is, ribbit." Tsu said with a nod. "See you tomorrow Marinette."

"See you guys tomorrow." Marinette said as the girls left while Marinette headed to the homeroom to get her stuff before going to wait outside by the entrance for Adrien.

She hoped that Yaoyorozu was ok. She did strike Marinette as the confident type but one who's confidence is drawn from her abilities and status which meant that that could be shattered easily if she lost quickly, especially when it was against the one person in the class who could fully negate her Quirk.

However, Adrien was kind and understanding, likely more than anyone else would be with Yaoyorozu, so Marinette knew that she was in good hands, hands that she'd be in later in a much different sense. That Marinette definitely couldn't wait for.

"How're you feeling?" Adrien said as he entered the nurse's office to find Yaoyorozu leaning up on a reclined bed looking tired from her healing but otherwise unharmed.

"Good thank you." Yaoyorozu replied a little surprised that Agreste was here as she hadn't expected him to be serious when he said that he'd come see to check and chat and what was more was that he was pointedly making eye contact with her and not looking lower. "If you're looking for Dupain-Cheng, she was just here checking on Jiro and Mineta though they are sleeping, but she left. I had just finished healing and was still going over my loss, so we didn't chat."

"No, I know that my lady has already been here." Adrien said and Yaoyorozu blinked at the affectionate term he'd used for the other French student, and she realized that the rumors of them being a couple she'd heard were true. "She'll probably be waiting for me to meet up so we can go home together. No, I came here for the same reason she did, to make sure that the person I, er, injured is doing better. I know Recovery Girl's Quirk does wonders but, well, I just wanted to make sure. I did say I would after all."

"Oh, yeah I'm all healed up just regaining my stamina as her Quirk draws on a person's natural stamina to heal them so I can't move for a little bit." Yaoyorozu said impressed that Adrien, who she barely knew, had honored his word and come to see her after their fight to make sure she was ok after he easily beat her, a fact that had shaken her confidence even if they were supposedly on the same level. "I just had a bruised sternum and a few cracked bones, nothing she couldn't heal with ease, and I barely lost any stamina in that fight, so it was only one go. Mineta and Jiro are both sleeping though, they need time to regain their stamina after a brief healing and then Recovery Girl can finish the job."

"Ah that explains the curtains." Adrien said as he looked over and noticed two beds by the windows at the far end had curtains around them and Recovery Girl was likely looking at one of them as she wasn't here either, that or she was giving them space to chat which was nice of her. "I guess we went a little overboard in the battles. We put 3 of you in the nurse's office and Kaminari short circuited his brain."

"No, you did what you were asked to do, I can't fault you for that." Yaoyorozu said shaking her head and bringing Adrien's attention back to her. "We can't hold back in the field, we shouldn't in practice or else we will make mistakes when the situation is real. You and Dupain-Cheng make a great team and easily beat us. I was the failure there."

"It was just the first training session, hardly a failure." Adrien said noticing that Yaoyorozu was already feeling self-conscious following her defeat and committing to reassure her. "You shouldn't feel bad that I beat you. I have been training, all that in my costume by the way and even with the upgraded system my old one had a similar boost, for 2 years and all that was with Marinette, so we are a near unbeatable team right now. I am also far stronger than you naturally as the tests the other day showed so once it came down to that you had no chance and should feel no shame."

"Yes but I'm a recommended student and my Quirk is really powerful due to its versatility and my own memory." Yaoyorozu said a little despondent. "I should be held to a higher standard."

"And I got in as a transfer student, so you lost to someone who is considered to be on the same level as I'm basically a recommended student as I had to be recommended to take the transfer exam." Adrien said seriously even if it wasn't true other than on paper. "There's nothing wrong with that. Plus, you faced me. My Quirk is effectively the antithesis of yours."

"Well, that is true." Yaoyorozu admitted a little taken aback by Adrien's serious tone, he was making sure she was ok in more than a physical way she realized but a mental one as well, something that only came from experience which took her aback a bit as how did he have the experience knowing the full range of what a hero had to deal with, but she'd dwell on that later and focused on his Quirk instead. "How does your Quirk work? I was surprised by it for sure and you are right, it is the worst one for me to face in a battle. Destruction will always be the antithesis of creation."

"My Cataclysm." Adrien said looking at his right hand and then back to Yaoyorozu's eyes. "It destroys anything inorganic, so effectively anything you can create I can destroy if my power is active. I have limitation due to the stamina it requires to keep my Quirk active, something we may actually be able to help each other with in time if you'd like as I think there's a way we can mutually assist each other in improving, but for now you should remember that I can cancel you long enough to close on you and beat you. That will happen in the field, for every Quirk there is almost certainly an opposite one. Hell, our teacher can cancel Quirks outright with his. Don't feel bad you lost to someone who's a mismatch."

"Quirks can counter other Quirks." Yaoyorozu muttered and realized that Adrien was right, she'd just never given it any thought as until the day before she'd never met someone with a Quirk that could truly cancel out hers and now she'd met two people with Quirks that could at least negate hers long enough for her to lose in a Quirkless fight. "I should know that. Still, even though you countered me, you still beat me in combat."

"Yes because I am trained with a staff and as I said am much stronger than the average human male at peak strength without a Quirk, a 15 year old girl, even one with your training, won't match that." Adrien said bluntly but not unkindly though it wasn't entirely true as his Miraculous had given him the knowledge to use his weapon, but his skills were effectively self-taught with fencing training on top of it. "As well as with a foil but that's more traditional fencing and the weights and designs are different, so I don't use that much. You chose to fight me with a staff, I can counter that and beat you."

"I did notice you were good with that staff." Yaoyorozu admitted. "How are you trained in it?"

"At Francois Dupont we're expected to master a weapon as well as our Quirk." Adrien said with a shrug. "We can't always rely on our Quirks after all, especially people like me and Marinette who have limits on how long we can maintain our Quirks. Sometimes we may face someone like Mr. Aizawa who can cancel our Quirks. Sometimes we can't use them given the situation. Sometimes we simply don't have the strength to use them. I can only keep Cataclysm up for 5 minutes at the moment before I give out. I can recharge by eating food but that takes time, though I keep special protein cubes for that that do speed my recharge up as protein is the best source for it."

"That, makes a lot of sense." Yaoyorozu said realizing just how important knowing non-Quirk-based combat was, it explained why some heroes made sure that they and they're sidekicks knew martial arts or had standard weapons training. "I have a limiting factor as well but it's not time, it's my lipids. Once I run out then I can't use Creation anymore until I too eat though protein is actually the worst thing for me to restore them. I just never really practiced any other form of combat."

"Let me ask you this Yaoyorozu." Adrien said knowing the answer but still confirming it and helping develop a friendship with the recommended girl. "You're Quirk, it requires a high degree of intelligence to use, right?"

"At the very least a near photographic memory yes." Yaoyorozu said with a nod. "I can only create something if I know it on the molecular level and that is for everything in what I create so the more complex the item the more I need to know it. I mastered it with Russian nesting dolls as I had to get the wood and various paints just right to make them. It's why I keep a special book on my costume in the holder on the small of my back as it gives me that break down to make items I might need but don't already know. It's also why I favor canons as my offensive weapon for ranged combat as they are simple to make compared to firearms so thus faster to make."

"That explains it then." Adrien said nodding as he understood now. "I get it."

"Explains what?" Yaoyorozu asked confused. "What do you get?"

"Your Quirk is really powerful." Adrien said simply. "And with a lot of versatility, especially compared to Marinette's which is rather random in what she can create and limited to one item though it will be exactly what she needs to complete her goal, but that power comes with a tradeoff that isn't tied to your lipids limit. You have had to spend years mastering the nuances of multiple molecular structures, something few our age could grasp, to perfect your Quirk."

"That's pretty accurate." Yaoyorozu said surprised at Agreste's insight, the boy was very smart it seemed, almost as smart as she was if she had to guess which only added to her already high assessment of the French transfer student. "I always wanted to be a hero and go to U.A. and with my Quirk I had the power. I also have the connections thanks to my parents to take the recommended exam which gave me a better chance to get in compared to the normal one as that doesn't test a Quirk like mine well. However, my intelligence is what allowed me to maximize the power of my Quirk and is why I am here. It took years to first be able to make things right and longer to master it as second nature."

"Exactly which means that you don't have much experience with close combat then." Adrien said. "And the fact that you favor canons for your ranged weapons only adds to your lack of close combat abilities."

"Not really." Yaoyorozu admitted. "Like many Japanese students, especially those of us in the upper class, I do have a martial arts background as it was expected of me to learn one, but it took a backstep to my Quirk control once it became apparent how strong my potential was. I have a basic understanding and skill in Bojutsu but that's it, with my Quirk it made sense that a weapon based martial art be the one I learned, and a metal bo was the easiest for me to make so that was the art I chose to learn. However, as you showed today my skills are nowhere near your level though your style is unlike any I've seen."

"That's because I am mostly self-taught with the staff, and I rely more on my natural strength and agility when I use it." Adrien said. "Though if you have training in Bojutsu then that does explain why you opted for a staff."

"That and a staff of a single metal is easy to make quickly and not as lethal as a sword even if I wish I knew how to properly handle a katana." Yaoyorozu said. "And as we were inside I couldn't make a canon due to the collateral damage it would cause, especially after what Bakugo did to Midoriya in their match."

"True that was excessive." Adrien said recalling how far over the top Bakugo had gone. "Anyway, you feeling better after what I said? Don't let a single loss get you down, I just wanted to make sure you were feeling good both physically and mentally, that is something that we as heroes will have to be able to do, as well as spiritual but I am not sure how to do that yet. Marinette will do the same with Jiro when she can. Mineta, well I think he's learned his lesson."

"Yes, I am feeling better." Yaoyorozu said and surprised herself with how true it was, but Agreste had shown her that there was more to being a hero than she had thought, and mental wellbeing was part of that though how he knew to make sure she was ok in that department as well was beyond her. "Thank you for stopping by. I didn't realize I needed this, but it helped a lot, and we did have that chat that I had hoped we'd have."

"No worries, we are all classmates so we should look out for each other and bring out the best in all of us as we grow together." Adrien said with a smile that was warm and dazzling at the same time as he turned to leave. "And if you need anything, just ask. You aren't the only one here from a wealthy background, I understand more than you would think about the life of rich elites and a little more than you'd expect about the Japanese elite system though I do know the European one better naturally."

"Actually, there is but it has nothing to do with your wealth, I know you're from a similar background to me but I think we have similar mentalities in that department so we will understand each other well there." Yaoyorozu said as Adrien was leaving, she'd heard what he'd said about them helping and realized there was something that he could help her with beyond what he'd suggested with their Quirks as she did understand that in that department they could definitely help each other out. "There is something I want to ask of you, if it is ok that is?"

"Sure, what?" Adrien asked turning to face his classmate again and again looking her in the eye as they chatted.

"Could, could you give me some pointers with how to wield a staff and maybe train me a bit in your unorthodox style." Yaoyorozu said a light blush on her cheeks at having to make such a request, especially as it meant one on one training with another woman's man, something she found slightly improper. "You know how to use one and as you pointed out, I have neglected my close combat training and relied too much on my Quirk and the range my canons can provide. I need to be more well-rounded beyond my Quirk if I am to be a good hero."

"Sure, I can show you what I know." Adrien said with a smile, he was already making a new friend here and without his dad restricting him he could actually have that normal high school experience, well as normal as U.A. would allow which he'd never thought he'd be able to have. "But I don't know any traditional fighting styles. It's more self-taught and does rely on my increased constitution. Perks of generations of Quirk marriages."

"I figured that that was what you and Dupain-Cheng had going on for you the moment I noticed that your strength and speed was above human average but not at the level of a Quirk." Yaoyorozu said glad her theory had been confirmed as to why the French teens were naturally above average for humans, the French had really embraced Quirk marriages for about 200 years, so it made sense that they'd be the end product of a few generations of that system. "And that's fine, any help will be needed and if it is unconventional that might be really good for me. I do hope Dupain-Cheng is ok with it though. I know you haven't confirmed it to me yet but from the way you were speaking, you are dating, right?"

"Marinette isn't the jealous type as far as I know." Adrien said confirming that he and Marinette were in deed a couple while also showing his density to the three-way war that had gone on between Marinette, Kagami and Chloe back before everything changed that fateful day 230 years ago. "But you can ask her yourself if you want, we do want to get to know all our classmates better as we will be learning together for 3 years and heroes together afterwards. Just let me know when works and we can use the gym to practice."

"Oh, that's good to hear." Yaoyorozu said and she was definitely going to ask Dupain-Cheng her permission, it was the proper and respectful thing to do after all. "And of course, I'll let you know once I have permission and am ready to train."

"Good, I look forward to seeing you improve so you can give me a good rematch when we next face off." Adrien said. "But I should go, I can't keep my lady waiting any longer and we have a bit of commute to get home."

"Wait, you two live together?" Yaoyorozu asked a little scandalized just realizing that now. "Isn't that improper."

"We don't share a room." Adrien said which was technically true even if they did only have their rooms for their stuff and to use when they needed to work alone, they always shared Adrien's bed at night. "And we aren't alone, we have a guardian who is part of the transfer program. He looks after us and makes sure we abide by the rules."

"Oh ok, that is a relief." Yaoyorozu said with a sigh that the French couple weren't doing improper things that were best saved for marriage even if they did love each other already and would likely end up married. "I am glad that you have an adult looking after you."

"As am I." Adrien said and for once meaning it as Mage was better than his father with the freedom Adrien was allowed though he did see the slightly strange Guardian as a big brother rather than a father figure. "See you tomorrow Yaoyorozu."

"You too Agreste." Yaoyorozu said as Adrien left her to finish recovering before she changed and headed home.

Adrien just smiled as he headed back to the classroom to grab his bag and then meet Marinette outside the school where he was sure that she was waiting for him so that they could head home. It had been a good day. They had begun to make friends with several of their classmates, had a good heroics class, and showed off their stuff. Things were finally starting to feel normal for them and Adrien couldn't wait for what was to come. Little did he know what outside forces had in store for Class 1-A.

Ah a nice little bit of foreboding for what is to come after a nice, filler, chapter that further showed the interactions between the Miraculous duo and their new classmates and friends. There will be much more to come and a little more filler before the arc y'all know is on its way.
