Here it is, the fourteenth full chapter of Miraculous Quirks released early as I have the time but this will be the last of the current surge. This is the start of the next major arc in the series and the first of two buildup chapters for it. However, that is all I have now for you though and as there are no questions to respond to here and no guest reviews to answer I will leave this note here which means that it is time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the 14th full chapter of Miraculous Quirks.

Disclaimer: I do not own either of these great works of fiction.

Chapter 14: Being Challenged

"Did you guess see the news?" Hagakure asked the classroom and those who had already arrived. "We were on it! Though I don't think they noticed me."

"Probably not." Shoji said bluntly. "You are invisible."

"Well, it is hard to stand out when you're just gloves." Ojiro added to make Hagakure feel a little better. "But that is still a good thing for you because you want to be a stealth hero so best to avoid the spotlight."

"That is true, thanks Ojiro." Hagakure said smiling at him though he could only tell that she was at least looking at him and only then because of the direction her clothes were facing.

"The camera's loved us." Kaminari said to no one in particular. "We're basically celebrities."

"Still, it was crazy." Jiro said twirling one of her earphone jacks. "The whole incident was."

"Are you kidding me!" Mineta cried. "I almost pissed myself just thinking about it. I don't think I could go through that again anytime soon."

"Oh, grow a pair pervert." Bakugo yelled at him. "Or get out because you won't be a hero unless you have some stones and face weak villains like that."

"Did you see All Might fight that bird guy?" Sato asked. "He was crazy strong and beat him."

"His strength is truly a thing of wonder." Tokoyami said with a nod. "I wish I was in the center with the others who managed to see it first hand, the inspiration of seeing that so close must have been intense."

"It was something else." Midoriya said with a mix of awe and fear in his voice. "None of us could have beaten Nomu but All Might did. It showed me how much I still have to work to beat him."

"You'll never beat him Deku." Bakugo yelled causing him to flinch.

Marinette and Adrien just watched from their desks as most of the class talked about the recent incident at the USJ. It was their first class back since a group of villains calling themselves the League of Villains had had the audacity to attack a U.A. training facility. They'd injured two teachers and pro heroes, one badly, and tried to kill the kids but they'd fought most of the villains off and lasted long enough for All Might to come and save them before the rest of the teachers arrived to turn the tables and secure victory. Only two villains had escaped, and no one had died.

It was clear that the class had gotten over it for the most part and now knew what it was like to be in real combat with what was waiting for them in the shadows outside of U.A. That didn't faze Marinette and Adrien who'd done hero work before though this was the first time they'd been in combat that was actually life threatening and Marinette had no power to rectify it so that had been intense in its own way. Overall, it was a good experience for the class, and they knew that they'd only grow stronger from it.

Right now, though, homeroom was about to begin, and this was the first time most of the class had seen each other since the incident so naturally they were chatting about it. Marinette did notice that neither Todoroki nor Yaoyorozu, the two recommended students, seemed to be bothered by it either showing that they at least understood more or were just not interested in the conversation but that was to be expected from them.

"Attention, homeroom class is about to begin." Ida said charging into the room and up to the lectern at the front. "Everyone take your seats so that we are all ready for when our teacher arrives."

"But you're the only one out of his seat." Ojiro pointed out.

"Yeah the rest of us are seated." Kaminari added helpfully.

"Damn, the paradox of being the class rep." Ida said frustrated as he sat down in his seat and Uraraka patted his shoulder. "But I must hold myself to the same standard as everyone else."

"So, who do you think will be teaching us today?" Ashido asked Tsu leaning back on her chair and hitting her friend's desk. "It can't be Mr. Aizawa so who?"

"I don't know, Present Mic maybe" Tsu said putting a finger on her chin as she gently pushed Mina away. "Mr. Aizawa is still in the hospital so you're right, it can't be him."

Just then the door opened, and the class gasped as Mr. Aizawa shuffled in slowly. Both his arms were in casts and slings and his face was covered in bandages with only his eyes showing and a gap for his nose so that he could breathe normally. It showed how much of a pro he was that he could come in after his injuries and he ignored the questions from the class as he took his place in front of the class. Marinette and Adrien knew that this act alone would inspire them because if their teacher could still function after what he went through then so could they when the face the real world.

"Settle down." Aizawa said in a weary voice that still held authority in it. "Your battle isn't over so no point in frivolous celebrations."

"What!" Both Bakugo and Midoriya said.

"There are more villains." Wailed Mineta as others in the class showed or voiced worry. "I can't handle more."

"The U.A. Sports Festival is almost on us." Aizawa said in the same tone as before and the class collectively breathed a sigh of relief. "You have to be ready for it."

"Yes." Almost the whole class shouted at that clearly excitement for it.

"This is why I came here." Kaminari said with a grin.

"It will separate the men from the boys." Kirishima said. "And I will be for former."

For a moment, the class devolved into talking about the Sports Festival and how excited they were for it and how well they planned on doing in it. Some also brought up the importance of it though Marinette and Adrien knew that much as Mage had already explained it.

There was also a brief chat about the recent villain attack and whether or not it should be a good idea to hold it with Jiro and Mineta both worried but that was silenced by the fact that they couldn't let U.A. be intimidated by villains. Well, that and the fact that security would be increased for it so no villain would be stupid enough to attack it though that's what they'd thought about the USJ, so they had to be careful.

"Yes, the U.A. Sports Festival." Aizawa said silencing them immediately with his serious tone. "This will be the best chance you have to show off for pros, especially those of you aiming for a spot in one of top agencies, as all will be watching. It comes around once a year, three chances in a lifetime, so no aspiring hero can afford to miss this festival which that means you had better not slack off on your training."

"Yes sir." Most of the class yelled in unison.

"Class dismissed." Aizawa said surprising them with the sudden dismissal before he left the room.

With that the class devolved into their groups as the students chatted amongst each other about the Sports Festival, their few chances, their excitement for it, how to be noticed, the usual stuff for the rest of the period before lunch. Some pointed out how the more unique Quirks would get the people noticed, though Jiro took that as a moment to make fun of Kaminari's habit of short circuiting his brain when he used it too much again. Meanwhile Aoyama was being his usual sparkly self and scaring Koda by the board as the quiet boy cleaned it.

Marinette and Adrien just let them have their moment as they made their way over to the back door to head to lunch with Midoriya, Ida, and Uraraka as always. They were going to try their best and do well because it sounded fun and would help them further integrate into the society they'd found themselves in, but they didn't need to stand out as much if they didn't want to. Mage had already told them as much.

That was because they would have the chance to join the Guardian Agency upon graduation and while they were free to choose, after everything the Guardians had done for them it was a hard offer to say no to. Plus, Tikki and Plagg endorsed it and that meant a lot so they were tempted, and they would likely stay in Japan regardless, so it all made sense.

"Wow everyone is really excited for this." Midoriya said as he came over, his usual nervous self-showing. "More so then I was expecting."

"Well of course we are." Ida said in what passed for excitement with him as he began to make some moves that were, well, very Ida in a sense. "We came here with the express purpose of becoming heroes so let's get pumped and show what we can do in the Sports Festival."

"Wow, those are some interesting moves there Ida, ribbit." Tsu said looking at him.

"You have to be excited too Midoriya." Ida said not hearing Tsu's words.

"Of course, I am." Midoriya said. "And also nervous at the same time."

"Deku, Ida." Uraraka said with a serious look that took even Marinette and Adrien aback as they reached their friends with the sheer intensity the usually bubbly girl was showing. "Let's do our best in the Sports Festival."

"Woah Uraraka what's up with your face." Midoriya said a little worried for his friend. "I've never seen that look before."

"Seriously what's up Uraraka?" Ashido asked. "Your usually like the most laid-back girl ever."

"PMS?" Mineta asked only to be instantly slapped by Asui's tongue much to the approval of all the girls who'd heard him and unfortunately likely the little pervert's pleasure as Marinette was certain that there wasn't a kink out there that Mineta wouldn't at least try once.

"Everyone!" Uraraka said striking a pose. "I'm going to do my best!

"Yeah, sure, uh-ah." Came various voices in the class.

"I said I'm going to do my best!" Uraraka repeated herself.

"Got it." Some people said a little taken aback by the usually bubbly girl's intensity over the Sports Festival.

A few people looked concerned at her as Uraraka continued to rant about doing her best. Only Midoriya looked intently at her clearly thinking about something that he wanted to talk to his friend about but waiting for the right moment when he could ask her when it was only a few of them as it was a bit of a personal question.

"I've been meaning to ask." Ida said as they left the room to go get lunch and he looked over at the French pair. "Aren't you excited for the Sports Festival. I know it is watch globally so you must be looking forward to participating in it as well."

"Oh, we are." Marinette said with a grin before adding the lie she had to add to avoid suspicion. "We watched the last few and it was one of the reason we wanted to try and come to U.A. as we don't really have that in Paris."

"Yeah our system there protects identities so this kinda thing isn't big though the U.K. does do some stuff, but they prefer more hero-based competitions as it's all about pros there." Adrien said glad that they'd watched some past footage the day before to prepare for this. "This actually looks fun though, I can't wait to test myself at it."

"Plus, our friends back home will be able to see us so we can get support from them." Marinette said with a smile she hoped wasn't fake as all their friends back in France were long gone so they wouldn't be watching this. "Our Quirks are quite unique so they will be able to identify us even without any announcements which means that they will learn our identities, but we don't care, we will show off what the French can do."

"Your Quirk is really suited for this Dupain-Cheng." Uraraka said as they walked towards the stairs. "Isn't it?"

"It is." Marinette said with a nod. "I just have to do a lot of study on the class and observe all the Quirks I can in preparation for the Sports Festival."

"How so?" Midoriya asked instantly curious as it had to do with Quirks. "Does that play a factor into how you use your Quirk?"

"It does because the more I know the better the item can be because I can make my idea for what I want to accomplish more specific." Marinette explained. "As you know, my Quirk allows me to create what I need to accomplish a task. The more specific I can be the more useful the item will be. While it works just fine if it's vague it will take more time to deduce how to use it so if I am more specific I can be faster. That said, a fighting style, as with all of us, there are going to be styles that will be harder for me to face then some."

"Still amazing." Midoriya said suddenly pulling a notebook out of nowhere and flipping to a point in it where he began writing. "Like how would the specificity work."

"Ha you are a curious one Midoriya but sure, I can elaborate on it for you as an outside view on it couldn't hurt." Marinette said with some thought. "Let's take two examples from the class. Say I ended up in a one-on-one battle with Yaoyorozu, she has a strong Quirk and good understanding of it. If I tried to create something to just beat her I would wind up with something that would work but it could be anything and have to figure it out but if I wanted something to counter her Creation then I'd get something specific that would negate it somehow. However, with her versatility it might hard, she's actually one of the worst matchups for me I believe so I'd like to spar with her one day to test myself."

"I see." Midoriya said writing down something as they walked and then flipping back to another page. "With her Quirk she can create things from her skin so likely something that covers her but something that she can't move or destroy or hinder her long enough for you to get in close and beat her in close combat as you are stronger physically. That's likely how it would work."

"Um, sure." Marinette said, she never really thought that much about how it would work in depth and honestly there were plenty in the class with Quirks she didn't know what would cancel them or in someone like Uraraka's case couldn't really work until after Marinette was hit with it. "That is just an example and with how unpredictable Lucky Charm can be it will almost always vary."

"But if we are talking Quirks then Agreste's isn't great for this." Midoriya said flipping to another page, one he really wanted to add to as it was one of the few Quirks in the class that he'd not yet seen firsthand. "It's certainly strong from what I've heard but thankfully it only works on inorganic material so its lethality isn't as bad as that hand villain from the other day but that makes it poor in one-on-one combat."

"Correct, though I'm sure destroying an opponents' clothes would cause them to forfeit due to exposure or embarrassment." Adrien said with a grin. "It's better for cancelling some Quirks like Yaoyorozu's creation or Todoroki's ice. It's also why I'm going to start training with Ojiro in hand-to-hand combat. I can't rely on my staff all the time, and I know I can't in the Sports Festival as it is part of my costume, so I need to be able to wisely use my strength as well."

"A good plan to counter a weakness that you have." Ida said. "If one thing having Mr. Aizawa as our homeroom teacher taught us it is that sometimes our Quirks won't be of use so we should be able to fight without them should the situation call for it."

"Precisely." Marinette said. "We are going to be taught that at some point, there's a teacher here who will teach us it, but can't hurt to start early. Back in France we learned how to use a weapon but hand to hand is something I'm weak on as well."

"Huh, fighting without my Quirk." Uraraka said aloud thinking on it. "That is something I could benefit from given my own power."

"Oh, Uraraka that reminds me." Midoriya said as they reached a lower level of the building and hearing his friend speak reminded him of the question he wanted to ask. "Why did you want to be a hero? We know about Ida and me but not you."

"Oh, well, I'm in it for what a hero makes financially." Uraraka said nervously, she wasn't really comfortable with sharing her reasons, but she knew she should with her friends. "I mean I do want to help people and rescue is something I'm really interested in but when it comes down to it a popular hero can make a lot and that is a big factor for me. U.A. is the best there is so I can get a really good internship from here and thus a good job when I graduate with a top agency. That is why I really need to stand out at the festival."

"So, you're in it for the money?" Midoriya asked her.

"Well, when you put it that way, yeah." Uraraka said rubbing the back of her head and not looking at them feeling a little ashamed with how selfish her reason was and adding to it. "You see, my family isn't exactly well off, they're in the construction business and barely making ends meet these day. I want to help them, and this is the best way I can. Plus, I've seen how much heroes being there cheer people up which I want to do as well, but yeah, not the noblest reason."

"Are you kidding me." Ida said. "Wanting to help your family is noble and pure."

"Yeah, you're probably the most grounded one here Uraraka." Midoriya said with a smile that instantly calmed Uraraka's nerves and brought one to her face, as well as a missed heartbeat and a slightly odd feeling in her stomach that she didn't understand so just ignored. "We all have our reasons and yours are still good ones to be here. Much more concrete than mine."

"Yeah, don't feel bad about it." Adrien said. "Heroes are here to help and that is what you are doing for your family as well others. People often forget that heroes are also human, we have our needs, loved ones, families, and what not to think of too. It's not selfish to want to provide for your family."

"Thanks." Uraraka said amazed at how accepting all her friends were of her reasoning. "It means a lot."

"We will all train and do our best so that we really show off to the pros." Marinette said to her friend. "Don't worry about it."

"I know, let's do our best." Uraraka said cheering up.

"What about you two?" Ida asked the French pair. "Seeing as we are on the topic, why'd you want to become heroes?"

"Same noble goals of helping people and stopping villains because it is the right thing to do." Adrien said which was in a sense true just a couple centuries late. "Plus, our families have a history of hero work."

"I didn't realize that the Agrestes or Dupain-Chengs were hero families." Ida said surprised at that. "Though I'll admit I am not well versed in the ones outside of Japan."

"We aren't like the Idas in that sense." Marinette said. "It's not a family business, those are already set and everyone here's heard of the Agreste fashion line, but over the generations we've had some heroes here and there. My grandmother on my dad's side was the last one in my family to be a hero before me though she was an Italian hero not a French one."

"However only the family knows of them due to the strict secrecy policy in France and other European countries." Adrien added. "Neither my parents nor grandparents did it. We are the first in our families in at least a generation."

"Ah I see, that makes sense." Ida said with a nod understanding that now. "There are families like that here as well and plenty only have one or two children who go into the hero world."

"Young Midoriya is here!" A voice called out and they all turned and stared as All Might appeared in all his glory from behind a wall that led down another corridor.

"All Might." Midoriya said as the other four just gapped, Uraraka and Ida because of how unexpected it was while the French duo were more surprised that he'd be so bold as to approach Midoriya this openly in the school. "What are you doing here?"

"Lunch." All Might said nervously before holding up a homemade bento lunchbox that looked tiny in his hands. "Care to join me?"

"That's adorable." Uraraka said spitting with laughter while Ida just nodded at Midoriya as this was a great learning opportunity for his friend.

"Go." Marinette said with a smile. "Don't worry about us."

"Ok." Midoriya said as he left still a little surprised at it but not turning down the chance to eat with his mentor and idle.

"We should get lunch as well." Adrien said. "It is going to get crowded soon."

"Oh yeah, I hope my suggestion was listened to." Marinette said taking Uraraka's arm and leading them away, the brunette a little shocked by the sudden contact but not saying anything as she assumed it was a cultural thing and she knew that Marinette and Adrien had been suppressing their habits around them, so she didn't complain at it. "I have missed them, and our guardian refuses to find them because he's not a big fan of French cuisine."

"Oh yeah you guys live with a guardian." Uraraka said recalling that the French pair had mentioned that before as they walked. "Shouldn't he be more receptive to your tastes?"

"He's very British in his tastes and culture." Marinette said. "And the British and French don't have a great relationship in some regards due to a historic rivalry that has existed for almost 1200 years with varying levels of intensity over the time. He considers escargot to be offensively French trash and won't touch it, so I suggested Lunch Rush bring in to give us the option of more traditional continental European stuff."

"He does have western food." Uraraka said as they neared the cafeteria and Marinette let go of her for propriety's sake as they were about to enter a packed room. "It's not really to my tastes but many like it."

"He has American food, which is traditional modern western that is liked in Japan, it's not traditional European." Marinette said shaking her head. "I'm hoping for something more French like that bouillabaisse I had the other day. You should try some, broaden your tastes."

"Sure, if you think it's good I'll try it once." Uraraka said as Adrien involuntarily cringed at that, Marinette was opening herself up for an attack if she didn't explain what escargot were and it looked like she would. "I take it you like it?"

"I do though I don't eat it often." Marinette admitted. "But it is a classical French dish and sometimes I want a taste from home here."

"What is escargot?" Ida asked Adrien quietly from behind them using the French word as he had no idea what it would be in Japanese. "I've never heard of it."

"In Japanese it would be katatsumari." Adrien whispered back causing Ida to blanch at that. "Don't tell, I think Marinette is looking for a genuine reaction from Uraraka regarding it."

"As this is clearly a cultural thing, and a little joke between friends, I'll refrain." Ida said. "But seriously, the French eat that?"

"And the Japanese don't eat strange things?" Adrien asked. "I've seen a few here that even I would say are strange and the French are not known for pickiness."

"You got me there." Ida said as they got in the line for lunch. "Even I wouldn't touch shirako."

"Oh yeah, I wonder what All Might wanted with Deku." Uraraka asked them as they clumped together in the line and stopping Adrien from asking what shirako was. "That was a little odd."

"I heard that Midoriya saved All Might at the USJ so maybe he's thanking him." Ida said. "And he is our teacher and the top pro, it is an opportunity that Midoriya can't turn down."

"That makes sense." Marinette said. "It is the right thing to do, and we know All Might always does what is right."

"Correct, true honor dictates no less and All Might is an honorable man." Ida said before he remembered something and hit his fist into his hand. "Also remember what Asui said on the bus, Midoriya's Quirk is a lot like All Might's."

"Right, maybe he's giving him some tips or taken a liking to Deku because of it." Uraraka said. "Deku could do with some help, he'll be even more amazing if he had control."

"So lucky, good on you Midoriya." Ida said with a smile as they continued moving in line. "You're already impressing the top pro; I will continue to strive to emulate you and be better."

The only one of them who hadn't spoken was Adrien. That was because after they clumped up in line he'd noticed something out of the corner of his eye and while he stayed in their group he kept an eye on it.

Todoroki was a few people ahead of them and listening to their conversation intently. Adrien didn't know what it meant but it couldn't be good, not with Todoroki's family history. However, that was something to think on another time. First it was lunch and Adrien was looking forward to spending it with his lady and his new friends.

Lunch itself was uneventful as there was no escargot on the menu so no excitement there, though Uraraka and Ida both tried some of the French dishes available to see with Ida finding it decent but Uraraka not a big fan, though she ate everything, as her tastes were very Japanese. Marinette and Adrien didn't mind though, it was just nice to eat with friends and share a bit of their culture with them. It felt like they were adjusting more and more every day.

The afternoon heroics stuff was not practical but theoretical with a class on the various hero laws they would have to follow once they got their license. They were training to be heroes but that also meant learning the governing laws of the Heroic Code and what their responsibilities as heroes were. It was a long, dry, but needed class that left them tired and ready to get home. However, as they opened the door to leave they realized that there was a slight problem.

"What are you doing here?" Uraraka asked shocked at what seemed to be all the first years from the other classes standing outside their classroom.

"I won't let you hold us hostage." Mineta wailed. "Not again."

"They're scouting the competition." Bakugo grunted as he passed his stupid classmates. "Morons."

"What do you want though?" Ida asked the crowd. "We're all just students at the same school."

"We're the class who survived a real villain attack four eyes." Bakugo said as he reached the crown and glared at them. "Take a good look extras, this is what a future hero looks like."

"You can't call people extras!" Ida said shocked at Bakugo's actions. "That is beyond rude."

"Don't explode someone Kacchan." Midoriya pleaded with his old friend and bully.

"So, this is the famous class 1-A." A bored voice said, and the crowd slightly parted to reveal a boy their age with messy purple hair that stood on end. "You don't seem that big a deal to me."

"Who do you think you are." Bakugo growled at the man. "I'm going to be the number 1 hero; I am a big deal to an extra like you."

"See, I wanted to be a hero as well, but I failed the practical." The boy said ignoring Bakugo and making him even angrier by doing so. "So, I entered the General Studies program. However, this is my chance to show off just like you. You see, if we do well in the Sports Festival we can be transferred into the Hero Course at the end of the year."

That got some of the students of class 1-A muttering at that. None of them had heard that that was an option, but they were already in the Hero Course, so it didn't matter to them. Well two of them knew and Marinette was now watching the boy intently ready to make her move if necessary.

"However, that means that one of you will be transferred out if I get transferred in as they have a set amount of spots in the Hero Course." The boy said causing the class to gasp in surprise and he smirked. "You didn't know about that I take it. Well, let me be clear. I am coming for you in the Sports Festival, and I will take one of your spots because I too want to be a hero. I'm not here to see who survived a villain attack, I'm here to challenge you."

"Wait." Marinette said walking forward while the crowd murmured and some of the class looked worried. "If you do want to transfer to the Hero Course then all you have to do is stand out at the Sports Festival to get the chance to transfer. You won't take one of our spots."

"What?" The boy asked, he'd been about to leave when Marinette had spoken, and he turned to her looking confused for the first time. "That's not how it works here."

"It is when there are special cases." Marinette said meeting his gaze. "You see there are 22 not 20 in Class 1-A because me and Adrien are transfer students from France under the transfer program U.A. has, if you can't already tell from my accent that is."

"You certainly aren't Japanese." The boy said, he'd heard the strange accent to her words and knew it was western and the slight formal nature to her words showed that she wasn't a native Japanese speaker, but he hadn't cared enough to place her country of origin. "But I've never heard of a special case."

"It happens every 5 or so years." Marinette said. "But sometimes transfer students come from western schools and there are different numbers in the classes. There are only 20 in Class 1-B so the school has made two spots open to transfers from General Studies should they distinguish themselves in the Sports Festival. You have the Sports Festival and another evaluation if you do well in the former to prove yourselves to teachers to get on the transfer track. You won't be taking a spot from one of us."

"Even if that is the case, I don't care." The boy said his bored tone coming back. "I'm still going to beat you even if it doesn't come at one of your spots."

"Fine, we all enjoy a bit of competition." Marinette said as the boy turned to leave but she wasn't done with him yet. "What's your name?"

"You don't need to know." The boy said as he left much to Marinette's annoyance.

"Move." Bakugo said pushing past the frenchette and out the classroom. "I don't need you to diffuse a situation pigtails, I am going to win the Sports Festival regardless of what those extras say."

Marinette just backed up and shook her head at the boy. He was someone she'd never experienced before frankly didn't like him or his attitude at all, it wasn't heroic in the slightest. That said, she'd enjoy beating him if they ever faced off together.

Bakugo just ignored her as he walked out and began pushing through the crowd. However, as he was doing so, a kid with silver hair, spikey teeth, and a strange mask-like thing around his eyes started talking.

"Hey, he's not the only one coming for you Bakugo." The new boy yelled. "The students of 1-B are coming as well. 1-A had the spotlight at the USJ, now it's our turn."

"Don't care." Bakugo said as he left.

"Hey, I'm talking to you." The new boy said as the crowd began to disperse but Bakugo was already gone so he turned to Marinette and the remaining class 1-A students. "That goes for all of you, this time 1-B will win and show you which class is better."

"And you are?" Marinette asked though she knew full well who he was, but she wasn't going to rise to his bait before turning away as the boy gaped at her. "Never mind, I'm sure we will learn of you at the Sports Festival so long as you can back up that bravado with actions."

"Both Bakugo and Dupain-Cheng were so manly there." Kirishima said enviously. "So much I have to learn."

"Again, I'm not a man Kirishima." Marinette said a bit confused by the second time he'd called her manly as she returned to Adrien, Midoriya, Ida, and Uraraka as the latter 3 stared at her while the loudmouth shouted at them.

The others in the class saw this as their cue and began to leave as well while the crowd outside their classroom finally dispersed. They had 2 weeks to prepare and train for the Sports Festival, they had to get ready.

"That was impressive." Ida said to Marinette as she returned. "You handled yourself well there Dupain-Cheng."

"It's just the truth." Marinette said with a shrug. "When we were accepted into U.A. we asked about the number discrepancy we noticed in the class rosters and were told that when there are special transfer program cases from schools with programs like Francois Dupont's the school opens up an equal number of spots in the other hero class to allow for a few General Studies transfers. That kid was right though, usually it would be for a spot of a current Hero Course student unless they made an exception which is the usual approach as they want as many heroes as possible so are hesitant to kick one out of the program."

"Ah so the spot is just another rational deception to push us to be better." Ida said. "Annoying and we shouldn't be lied to, but I can see the twisted logic in their reasoning."

"That's the spirit Ida." Adrien said patting him on the back. "Now let's not dwell on that, we need to get ready. The Sports Festival is coming, and we all need to do our best in it."

The others nodded and they left the classroom together to head home and begin planning for the Sports Festival. It was going to be one none of them would forget.

This is a good place to end the chapter as the Sports Festival approaches. There is another chapter before the Sports Festival starts and that will likely be out at the usual time Friday though it may be early but no promises. That is all I have though as this was a bit of a transition chapter so I will end this note here. If you like it or have any questions please let me know in reviews or PMs, I will try to answer them as best I could and post any questions asked between uploads at the start of the next chapter and do follow and favorite this, so you are alerted to future uploads. Do keep the reviews coming as I like hearing from y'all as you enjoy my work, it motivates me to keep producing the best work I can for y'all to enjoy. Until next time.
