Here it is, the fifteenth full chapter of Miraculous Quirks released earlier than I expected so a nice surprise for y'all. I hadn't expected to have this out this fast but I was surprisingly productive with one of my other stories and realized that I had the time to edit this chapter so here it is nice and early. This is a special chapter as it was actually the most recent one I drafted and only added after realizing the need for it but it is a useful one that helps bridge a gap and set up the coming Sports Festival. That is all I have for now though and as there are no questions to respond to here and no guest reviews to answer I will leave this note here which means that it is time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the 15th full chapter of Miraculous Quirks.

Disclaimer: I do not own either of these great works of fiction.

Chapter 15: Talks, Tests, Training

Momo Yaoyorozu walked a little nervously to the classroom. She knew who she'd find there, it was who she wanted to talk to after all, but she could help how she felt. She was nervous not because of the person she was going to see, it was one of her classmates and budding friends, but she was nervous about the talk because she was going to ask for something that she deemed to be a little improper. After all, it wasn't right to her to be alone with another girl's man in a situation where physical contact would occur unless it was unavoidable.

However, that was what Momo needed right now as the best person in the class to help her with her style of close combat was Adrien Agreste. The French transfer boy was clearly a master with the staff, she'd both faced it personally and seen it in action briefly at the USJ and knew that he could help her. She'd even asked him for help, and he'd agreed to do so and now was the best time to start.

Normally that wouldn't be an issue, but Agreste had a girlfriend, the other French transfer student Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Momo's high society upbringing and personal ethics dictated that she ask permission from the other girl before she trained with Agreste.

She knew that it was more a cultural and societal thing, but it was still something that she had to do hence why she was going to the classroom. She knew that Dupain-Cheng was there studying for the Sports Festival. They had two weeks to prepare for it and the class were doing so in their own ways. Some were at the USJ using the facilities there to train their Quirks, some were in the gym or using one of the other training areas on campus for similar purposes, some were training at home, and others were mentally preparing for it.

Momo was one of the last ones. With her Quirk she needed to keep reading more and more about the molecular structures of things that might be useful for her to make, as well as keeping up her large diet that kept her lipid numbers high. She also needed to do standard workouts and training which she planned on doing, again why she was going to ask Dupain-Cheng about doing so with Agreste during this time, but for Momo Yaoyorozu, mental training was the key to her Quirk and personal power.

For some reason though, Dupain-Cheng was doing so as well. The half French, half Chinese girl had come to school like most of the class but rather than go and train she was studying in the classroom. Momo had learned of that from Ashido who had seen the other girl there when she arrived to drop her things off and had told Momo when she arrived and put her shoes away. Why Dupain-Cheng was studying Momo didn't know but it was the perfect time to talk to her.

What Momo didn't know was that Marinette was in the classroom studying the student directory that they all had access to. She knew that intelligence on your opponents was key to victory so when you had that intel you should review it. It was part of what made Midoriya's potential so high and right now Marinette was doing the same so that she knew who she was likely to face, their Quirks, and how best to counter them with hers. However, she wasn't studying her own class, she knew them well already, she was studying Class 1-B and the General Studies student to learn what she could about them.

Marinette had been so engrossed in her research and note taking, something she was doing in French out of a mix of habit, the fact that it was easier for her to make fast, clear, notes in her native tongue, and to preserve the notes from being spied on though she knew that she should practice her kanji more to get used to using them as well, that she didn't hear the door open. It wasn't until she heard a polite cough did she realize that someone was there.

Momo had to admit, she was impressed when she walked in to find Dupain-Cheng studying intently at her desk. It had to be something to do with her Quirk or battle tactics for her to be so into her work. She'd gotten a leadership vibe from the other girl and that was clear right now as she was using her time to train more than her body and Quirk for the coming Sports Festival. She was also so into it that Momo had to politely cough to get her attention.

Marinette looked up and was surprised to see Momo Yaoyorozu there wearing her PE kit and looking down at her from a polite distance with her hands in front of her. She hadn't expected to see the recommended girl there, she'd expected Yaoyorozu to stay at home and prepare there.

"Yaoyorozu, what's up?" Marinette said putting her pen down, closing her notebook, and looking up. "Do you need something from me?"

"Sort of." Momo said nervously as she sat down in her own desk but turning her chair to face Marinette. "There is something I want to ask your permission for Dupain-Cheng."

"You know, you can call me Marinette if you want." Marinette said with a smile. "We're both girls, classmates, and friends, you don't need to be so formal with me. I know that it's not culturally normal here and if I cause any offense with my request then I am sorry, it's just not something we do in France. Only one person back home called me by my family name, and she wasn't exactly a friend but more my personal Bakugo if that makes sense, but it isn't as significant to me as it is to you I think so do what is comfortable for you."

"No, I'm not offended, I know that we are culturally different, and I want to respect your culture as much as I can just as you are doing the same for mine." Momo said before blushing a little because it was still improper what she would say but she knew what was right, though she did note what the French girl had said about having her own version of Bakugo which didn't sound good. "And ok, I'll do my best but if I am to call you Marinette then please call me Momo. It's only right that I extend the same courtesy to you that you are extending to me."

"Of course, I wouldn't without your permission Momo." Marinette said with a smile. "I am sure that over time all us girls will get used to it. Tsu will likely be the driving force there."

"Same." Momo said with a smile of her own. "And if there are any other cultural things to you that you want to be able to do but can't because of how different they are to Japanese culture then I would be willing to learn them so that you can do them with me. You may be a guest in my country, but it is only right that as an ambassador for Japan that I partake in them with you seeing as you are doing so much for us."

"There is one thing that is culturally acceptable and rather ingrained in French culture that I can't do here right now other than with Adrien or Aoyama because it is not something that would be considered proper in Japanese culture that I do miss as it is hard to not do it with friends." Marinette said and had to repress a smile as it would shock Momo when she did it. "But I can do it when you leave and for Japanese cultural reasons, and because I have a good sense of your personality, I won't ask Adrien to do it as well but leave it to you to decide on that front."

"Ok." Momo said a little confused before surprising Marinette by switching to heavily accented but passable and understandable French even if her pronunciation of some words were terrible. "Um, could I also ask if it would be possible for me to speak French with you when we are alone together, I want to learn it more, and the best way to learn a language is to speak it with a native speaker, but it would only be proper at this point to do so with you."

"Your French vocabulary is good." Marinette said easily reverting to her native tongue surprised and now knowing that she'd have to be a little wary what she and Adrien said together around Momo. "Your sentence structure isn't, and the pronunciations are slightly off. If I had to guess you've used your prodigious memory to basically memorize a French dictionary and how the grammar works but you are relying on your English to pronounce the words and there are a lot of differences between French and English in terms of pronunciation."

"That is a good assessment." Momo said sticking with French and impressed at how Marinette had deduced everything pretty much correctly. "I did memorize a lot of the vocab and grammar, but I am also naturally decent with languages which does help. I do speak English, Korean, Mandarin, and Cantonese fluently so learning a new one gets easier with each new language, especially when I have a base to work with, but practice does make perfect. You are right though; I didn't really look into how pronunciations worked and am relying on my English which is clearly different."

"French has a lot of soft pronunciation in it while English, with a few exceptions, is more phonetic." Marinette said. "We don't often pronounce the ends of words, but English does and some of our letters are switched. We pronounce G as J and vice versa for example. It is actually something I struggle with when I speak English, my pronunciations do defer to French a bit at times, and they have no clue how to spell some of their words."

"I see, well if you can bear with me and talk a little slower than normal I can improve, and I will look into how to pronounce words more when I have a moment to do so." Momo said her skills notably improving as they spoke but still a little off and the heavy Japanese accent to it was a bit hard to fully hear but it was doable for Marinette as she'd gotten used to Japanese accented French with Kagami. "But that is all I have on that front. I did come here to ask you something else and I would like to do so now."

"Of course." Marinette said looking her friend in the eye. "What do you want to ask me. If it is about our Quirks, they are noticeably different that I don't think I can help on that front other than maybe creating something to counter another person's Quirk and showing you so you could learn to create it as well."

"No, you seem to create an item out of nothing, but it is temporary and drains you, which given all that your Quirk entails makes sense while I make permanent items from my lipids which has its own drawback for me." Momo said shaking her head. "No, I was actually going to ask you for permission for something."

"Oh ok." Marinette said a little confused but something in the back of her mind told her that she should know what it was. "What?"

"Well, you see, after you and Agreste beat me and Mineta the other day in the battle trial I realized that I am lacking in close combat skills because of my focus on mastering my complex Quirk." Momo said. "And then, when Agreste spoke to me to check up on me I asked him to train with him as he knows how to wield a staff which is the weapon I'm partially trained on. However, it would be improper for me to train with him alone without your permission because you are dating him."

"I see, I take it that this is a cultural thing?" Marinette asked as she remembered that Adrien had said that he was going to help Momo with this.

"A mix of cultural and societal for me." Momo clarified. "But yes, it would be improper and impolite of me not to ask."

"Alright well it is still the respectful thing to do, that I understand, and sure I don't mind you doing that." Marinette said surprising Momo with her quick approval. "Adrien sees you as a friend as well so go ahead and train with him, he did tell me about your request, and I was fine with it. We are here to make each other better heroes and if this is a way to do so then go ahead. I know that he is planning on training with Ojiro as well for hand to hand and likely Hagakure for stealth but not today. He's with Mr. Aizawa right now being tested regarding his Quirk but he'll be free this afternoon and in the gym working out. I can tell him when we get lunch to meet you in the martial arts area if you would like."

"Yes thank you." Momo said with a nod. "I appreciate it and am glad that you gave me your permission. It is a big ask I am doing so I was expecting more pushback."

"I'll admit, I've danced with the green-eyed monster of jealousy a time or two in the past." Marinette said with a light chuckle. "I had two rivals for Adrien's heart back in France, one being the aforementioned person who only called me by my last name as she was very open about her feelings for him, but Adrien only had eyes for me, inadvertently, so I landed him. I don't fear rivals here and hope to not have any, though I would crush any girl who tried."

"You have nothing to fear from me, I would never dishonor myself by going after another woman's man even if I did have a romantic interest, which I don't." Momo said scandalized by the idea and Marinette had to admit, Japanese honor culture was a good thing, the French weren't exactly known for their fidelity honor after all though Marinette wasn't a big fan of that stereotype. "Thank you, if there is anything I can for you let me know Marinette."

"Well, there is one thing." Marinette said with a smile. "Seeing as you were ready for more pushback and I know that honor is a big thing here, something I greatly respect as the French stereotype on that front is unfortunately not unwarranted, then how about a sparring match with me in a few days in one of the gyms here. We can learn a lot from facing each other due to our similar Quirks and your versatility is actually one of the few things I would really struggle against so it would give me a good test of my own Quirk to see how it stacks up against yours."

"I would be honored to spar with you." Momo said seriously. "And I can learn a lot as well from facing you and your unpredictable creation Quirk. This is more than acceptable to me and my request. However, if that is all I should leave you to your work, I have my own to do after all."

"That is all but as you are leaving I will show you an aspect of French culture that I would like to do with at least the other girls when you are all comfortable with it, and you will be the first as you've volunteered." Marinette said getting up. "This is how we both greet and say bye to people in France and this applies to anyone, even strangers we've just met, and tend to do pretty much every day, but for obvious reasons we only do it in mainland European countries with similar customs or former colonies that understand it."

"Um, ok." Momo said getting up and standing a good bit, close to a foot if Marinette had to admit, taller than her. "What is it?"

"This." Marinette said with a grin as she closed the gap between them and gave Momo a hug but as she was doing so she raised herself on her toes and kissed her friend on each cheek before stepping back and giggling at the now stark still and blushing Momo Yaoyorozu. "You are supposed to return the gesture by the way so as I kiss your right cheek you kiss my left and vice versa. It is common in continental Europe to do it at least with other girls or the opposite sex, though with the French the men do it to each other as well and it is in no way sexual, just how we greet people. You can see why I don't do it here and right now would only do it with the other girls."

"Y, yes that is very, very different to what we do here in Japan and might get misconstrued by some." Momo admitted. "And is this often?"

"Pretty much every time we meet and part ways." Marinette admitted. "We French are a little more touchy-feely than most cultures, in platonic ways of course."

"Oh ok." Momo said. "This will take some getting used to and I will ask that we only do it after longer breaks or hanging out outside of school, that seems more proper to me."

"Of course, whatever you're comfortable with." Marinette said with a smile. "But thank you for letting me, it is a hard habit to break and does keep me in touch with home."

"No, it is good to know how other cultures work, especially should I find myself in France or elsewhere in Europe, I know my family wants to go to Italy sometime soon, so this is good to know." Momo said. "But I will leave you to it. Thank you again Marinette, this was better than I could have hoped."

"Anytime Momo." Marinette said with a slight bow in a more traditional Japanese way that her friend automatically returned at the same level to show that they were equals. "Now let's get back to preparing, we need to show everyone what class 1-A can do."

Momo nodded in agreement and left to do just that, she wanted to get through at least one more book on molecular structures before she met up with Agreste for training. It had certainly been a good chat with her new friend, and she'd learned a lot. She couldn't wait to learn more.

Marinette for her part just sat down and went back to her studying glad that she and Momo were getting on even better now. Eventually all the girls and then most of the class should be like that but all in good time. Right now, Marinette went back to her work but as she did she couldn't help but let her mind wander to her love and how he was doing with his Quirk test with Mr. Aizawa right now.

"Ok Agreste, this is Gym Gamma, a special gym where Cementoss here can create any kind of obstacles needed out of the cement here." Aizawa said in a bored, tired, tone as he, Adrien, and Cementoss stood in the large, empty gym that had a concrete floor and no doubt a good mile or so of concrete beneath their feet. "He will assist me in finally conducting your Quirk assessment test as his Quirk can provide almost all that I would need to test it."

Around the time Momo was seeing Marinette in the classroom, Adrien was in the special gym that Mr. Aizawa had told him to report to this morning on the first day of their 2-week prep period for the Sports Festival. They were finally assessing Adrien's Quirk as their plan to do it at the USJ had been ruined by the arrival of the League of Villains and delayed more in the aftermath. However, with Aizawa's injuries, they had to improvise a bit hence why Cementoss was here to help out and create what was needed.

In addition to the two teachers, there was a softball sized black ball on the ground by Aizawa's feet and a camera set up to record the test so that Aizawa could make notes on it later when he was able to do so again. Adrien himself was just in his PE kit and ready to partake in the test, his protein cubes in his pocket for the recharging he'd need to do between uses.

"What will we test sir?" Adrien asked his teacher.

"I already have a general sense of what you can do from the battle trial and what was reported atop the flood zone at the USJ." Aizawa said. "I know that your Quirk is limited to the area of the item you've touched and won't spread past it. I also understand that it has a general rate of spread based a simple touch and that the large the area the greater the dispersion of the power so rather than fully disintegrating something you just create cracks. I am going to test you in 3 areas; speed, depth, and density, so as to get a baseline of what your Quirk can do. The recharge factor will also be recorded so that I can evaluate it later."

"Ok I can do that." Adrien said with a nod.

"First though, what are your known limits." Aizawa said. "I need to know so we can focus on how to improve it when the time comes to grow your Quirk. I will be able to see them for myself today, but I want your own words on it as well."

"As of right now I can only create it in my right hand, though I plan on working on being able to use my left either or as well and possible extending it over more of my body." Adrien said. "And it will last for 5 minutes unless I touch something in that time. When I do I impart my power into that item, and it is destroyed. With concentration I can retain control of the power for the full 5 minutes I can use it but if I am not focused when I destroy the item then the power goes as it has done its job. Th =e 5-minute limit is currently set and hasn't increased since I started training my Quirk."

"That will grow in time, we've worked with many time limit Quirks and have always grown them so we will figure out how to do so with yours and Dupain-Cheng's Quirk as well." Aizawa said. "Now how long do you need to wait to use it again?"

"Naturally, I don't actually know as I've never tested my own recovery period." Adrien admitted. "Probably until I eat as my body uses the energy from food to recharge. It's not actually a matter of quantity but rather a matter of energy output. Protein, carbs, and sugar work best as they have energy with the former being better for me at least. I used to use cheese, camembert to be precise, to recharge as it has a decent amount of protein and I still keep a few pieces in a special preserving container for emergencies but last year Technus's company developed a specialized pure protein cube that is tailored to my body chemistry and maximizes my recharge time, so I am good to go within 5 minutes or so."

"Ok that is rather specific but again not dissimilar to other recharge or fuel requirements for certain Quirks so again we can work with that." Aizawa said with a nod. "And you have some on you I take it."

"Never leave home without them." Adrien said patting a pocket.

"Good, one of the things I like about the European model is that they start earlier and with theory and practical sense training, so you're already prepared with the essentials." Aizawa said. "Very well, let's start with the first test. Cementoss if you will."

"Of course, Eraser." Cementoss said as he knelt down and placed his hands on the ground.

A second later his hands glowed and then a slab of concrete rose from the ground in front of Adrien. It was the size and thickness of the wall he'd destroyed in the battle trial though Adrien did notice that Cementoss did not move from his position or deactivate his Quirk.

"Alright now Agreste, can you speed up the spread of your Cataclysm?" Aizawa asked. "Or does it work on at its own rate?"

"I should be able to if I focus on it, yes." Adrien said thinking on it. "I've normally just touched something and let it do its job, but I can speed it up a bit if I want to destroy the item faster."

"Good then the first test we will do is have you activate your Quirk, place it on the center of the slab and then I want you to destroy it as fast as possible." Aizawa said. "To add to this, Cementoss will add to the concrete as your power reaches the end to keep it as one item, that way we can see how much you can destroy in 5 minutes. If it is the same item then you should be able to keep it up. Cementoss, you can keep up and meander it around the room if necessary."

"I can." Cementoss said with a nod. "Don't worry about me Eraser."

"Alright then begin." Aizawa said.

Adrien just nodded as he placed his right hand on the concrete and activated Cataclysm. Almost at once his right hand was encased in a roiling black energy that seemed to bubble a bit over his hand. It was the first time that Aizawa had seen it active in decent lighting, and it was like looking into the heart of destruction and the veteran pro was very glad that it didn't work on flesh. Then the power began, and he watched it closely.

Almost as soon as Adrien had activated his Quirk it began to spread outwards from his palm in all directions turning the stone to a brownish black color before it crumbled to a mixture of dust and rubble. It also spread quickly from the point of contact, faster than it had when Adrien had just touched the wall in the battle trial. Cementoss kept an eye on it and began getting ready for it. However, there was one problem that Aizawa didn't see coming.

Agreste's Quirk was most concentrated at the point of contact and soon that part of the concrete was reduced to dust and Agreste actually fell through it, surprised as well, the crumbling concrete around him too brittle to hold and falling apart as he fell. The one good thing though was that the power was still spreading and Cementoss was doing his job adding to it. That meant that they could at least see how far the power went before ending and how long it lasted for. Aizawa was already adapting the second test to work for what he'd wanted to do here anyway.

As soon as Adrien's hand had gone through the wall the power for him ended as his concentration had been broken and from there it was only a matter of waiting until it ended. That took the full 5 minutes as Cementoss kept adding to the structure and the corruption kept spreading and even went onto the floor as it was all connected cracking it on the surface but that was it. It was all good and useful data for Aizawa.

As he'd expected, the further it spread the weaker it got. The initial wall sized section and about 20 meters or so either side of it was reduced to rubble with the very center dust but after that the wall stayed standing though it was a clearly brown color and looked weak. Eventually that just turned to cracks until the finally ended precisely 5 minutes after Agreste had activated it.

If Aizawa wasn't bandaged so heavily his jaw would be on the floor at the scale of the power though his eyes were wide. Agreste was without a doubt one of the four most powerful kids in the class when it came to raw power. Midoriya and Todoroki had more while Bakugo probably had less right now though he thought that the explosive blonde could unleash more power if he tried.

Sato and Kirishima were the others up there, but they weren't near Agreste's level and had stamina issues with their Quirks that they needed to work on. This power was remarkable and Aizawa was glad it was in the hands of a hero as they knew full well what a disintegration Quirk could do in the hands of a villain.

"Ok that didn't go as planned but we can work with this." Aizawa said as Agreste got up and ate one of his protein cubes to recharge his Quirk. "I will have you test the speed with the depth test, but this gave me a good idea for range. As you recharge, show me how much of the wall can be broken but use the appropriate level of strength to do so, that way I can get an idea for the force needed."

"Sure." Adrien said as he went to the wall and began punching it but only using as much strength as was necessary.

A good 50 meters more of corrupted wall could be broken down by Adrien's hits. That said, only about 3/5ths of it could be broken with normal strength blows, the rest were only because of Adrien's enhanced strength which at least showed that those with stronger raw strength like Sato and Midoriya could destroy more of it with ease, if the latter had any control that is. Still, it was impressive and the remaining concrete with cracks in it were still weaker than normal concrete.

"Cementoss, assessment." Aizawa said as Adrien worked. "Can you assess concrete?"

"I can and I can tell you this Eraser, the stuff that has been touched by Agreste's Cataclysm is no longer controllable to me." Cementoss said surprising Aizawa. "Up to the end of the cracks is beyond what I can control with my Quirk. The rest I can control."

Cementoss showed that by putting the concrete into the ground that he could but couldn't move any parts of it that were cracked. They were going to have to get Agreste to destroy them as well when this was over and likely have to remove the cracked parts of the floor before Cementoss could use it again.

"How would you describe the effects of Cataclysm?" Aizawa asked. "It may give us some answers."

"Are we going to mention anything to Agreste?" Cementoss asked in return.

"With the similar natures of their Quirks we should." Aizawa said as Agreste finished up. "We could use his help in some ways regarding disintegration Quirks but give me an assessment now."

"It completely corrupted and destroyed." Cementoss said. "Whatever power that Agreste creates, it doesn't work the same as that Shigaraki person. His Quirk is being called Decay because it seems to accelerate the decomposition of what he touches until it returns to rubble like the gate as we are sure he was the one who destroyed it. What Agreste is doing is different. First off it is an energy he's creating so he has more control over it and it's not so much decaying what it touches but more a simple destruction. Once Cataclysm made contact with my cement it basically ceased to be cement. It was destroyed it on a molecular level and fell apart. That's why I can't control it"

"Interesting." Aizawa said as Agreste returned. "Ok, block time Cementoss. It's time for the second test I need your help with."

"On it." Cementoss said as he moved the cement and created a sold, square block on a free patch that he had control over.

"Agreste, are you recharged?" Aizawa asked his student.

"I am." Adrien replied. "I can feel the power returning. It's hard to describe but I can feel when I can create that energy and when it won't work. I think how long it is active for also plays a part. The less of the 5 minutes I use the faster I can recharge."

"When we grow your Quirk we will find out a way to speed it up, but that assessment does make some sense." Aizawa said. "For now, though, we will test depth, speed, and see if you can keep it up for a full 5 minutes while in contact with a surface. We didn't see what happened earlier coming even if we should so the second test will compensate for that."

"The block I take it." Adrien said deducing what he had to do. "Same thing only keep it up and move with it as Cementoss keeps making more."

"Yes, you are learning fast, good." Aizawa said with a nod. "So, start."

Adrien just nodded and went up to the block and again put his hand on it before activating Cataclysm. While he could activate it again so quickly, he could feel that it was drawing more from him doing it in such quick succession to the last time, so he'd take longer to recharge but he didn't mind. He was going to push himself and see if he could keep it up for the full 5 minutes.

This time, when he put his hand on the block he pressed forward and pushed all his strength into it knowing that the block would keep going so he didn't have to take his hand off it. What happened next was that the Cataclysm spread faster than before and Adrien moved with it as the concrete turned to dust around him, walking through it as he moved. In total he ended up walking a good 150 meters until his power ended, as did the destruction of the concrete, and left him covered in brownish black dust.

"So, he can speed it up and so long as he's in contact he can keep it up until his time limit runs out." Aizawa noted aloud as he couldn't write it down while Adrien returned eating a few more of his protein cubes. "Good to know, this could work with Yaoyorozu's Quirk to improve both of them."

Adrien heard none of this as he returned to his teacher. He had gone further then he'd expected but it was a good indication of what his limits were.

"How long will it take to recharge this time?" Aizawa asked Adrien as he returned.

"A few minutes longer." Adrien admitted. "The more frequently I use it in succession the more it takes out of me, so the recharge time is a bit longer, same with how long I kept it up for within my time limit. Marinette is similar I believe; it's why she didn't try to use her Lucky Charm for one or two of your tests so she could fully recharge."

"I see, I think stamina will be key in improving it so factor that into your workouts." Aizawa said and Adrien nodded at that understanding what his teacher wanted so Aizawa was able to move onto the other thing he wanted to discuss. "Now Agreste, what are you aware of the Quirk the villain who attacked the USJ has?"

"Only what has been reported as I didn't see him use it." Adrien said. "It's similar to mine in a sense that it will destroy what can be touched but it can work in living things as well. Marinette told me it destroyed her yo-yo and that is a Technus support item so really hard to destroy."

"That is correct." Aizawa said. "From what we've gathered it speeds up the decomposition of whatever is touched by it causing it to decay. Yours is different but we are still going to be using the similarity you have to it to see how we could defend against it in the future as there is likely some similarity in the limits."

"I see." Adrien said. "I'm willing to help anyway I can. I don't know much about how my Cataclysm works though. I know it destroys what it touches though, or at least weakens them, and that it won't work on flesh but that's about it."

"There appears to be a fundamental difference to how both work." Aizawa said. "Similar I guess to how Yaoyorozu and Dupain-Cheng have creation-based Quirks, but they work differently and have different sources and item durability in the items they create or how Midoriya and Sato have different kinds of strength power up Quirks."

"That does make sense." Adrien said understanding now. "Well, I will help out as best I can if it means learning more about the villain who attacked us in the USJ."

"It will but for now it is more studying how your Quirk works and what happens when it destroys something." Aizawa said. "I know that your guardian is also a teacher here though I don't know him well. I will discuss this with him however so that we can properly plan this, but your classes and training do take priority."

"I understand." Adrien said.

"Good and not a word of this to anyone, including Dupain-Cheng." Aizawa said seriously. "At least not yet as this is classified but with your Quirk we need you so we're letting you in on it."

"I don't know why but you are my teacher so I will do that." Adrien said.

"As it should be." Aizawa said. "Now are you recharged?"

"I can at least activate it again." Adrien said thinking on it. "Whether it will last the full 5 minutes I don't know."

"That is fine as this is the density test and I want to test simple impartation of your Quirk, not you holding it for the full time you can." Aizawa said as he led Adrien over to the black ball that was resting on the ground and not moving. "This is a special high density metal alloy the support class has made. Usually, we use it in special weights for strength training power Quirks like Midoriya or Sato's, but you said that density is a factor, so I want to see for myself. Destroy it for me."

"Sure." Adrien said with a shrug as he walked up to it and based on its weight he activated Cataclysm first as he doubted he could lift it without struggling right now.

Again, it took more effort, and he knew he'd need a big, protein rich, lunch to fully regain his energy but he didn't focus on that. Instead, he bent down and placed his hand on the ball. The test was that he simply touch it rather than hold it so that is what he did before he removed his hand and his power ended.

It took a few seconds for it to work, the black ball making it hard to see, but in the end the ball cracked and fell apart though only a portion of it where he'd touched was reduced to dust. The high density of the alloy had resisted the Cataclysm enough that rather than reduce it to dust it was simply weakened enough to break apart.

"Interesting and in time we may be able to grow your Quirk to be more potent I believe." Aizawa said. "But for now, we're done here Agreste, I now have a fuller picture of your power. Go and resume your training but at some point I need you back here to destroy the concrete that is still standing. Whatever it is that your Cataclysm does to objects, it destroys them on a molecular level and Cementoss can't manipulate it anymore, so we need to get rid of this and replace what was touched."

"Oh ok, of course." Adrien said surprised that that was how his Quirk destroyed things. "I'll come back and sort it out later today before I go home."

"Good now get going." Aizawa said and Adrien just bowed to his teacher before heading out.

As he was leaving he pulled out his phone and texted Marinette so that they could get lunch and talk about the morning. It had been an interesting one for him for sure.

"Ok make me a staff as I am not allowed access to mine for training for the Sports Festival." Adrien said to Yaoyorozu as both stood on the mats in the martial arts section of the vast gym complex on campus. "And I suggest that you go with the standard one you use so I have a sense for the one you prefer."

"Right." Yaoyorozu said as she held her right arm out to the side and began to produce a metal staff from it.

It was about an hour after lunch, Adrien had needed that time to fully digest the steak, bacon, eggs, and cheese he'd feasted on to regain his energy after his assessment test with Mr. Aizawa. During lunch and afterwards Marinette had told him about her chat with Yaoyorozu and how she now understood French which they had to be careful of. However, that had been a bonus revelation as the main topic had been permission for Yaoyorozu to train with Adrien.

Adrien was surprised that the girl had actually asked Marinette for permission like she said she would, but he didn't question it as it was he choice to do so. He was more than willing to help all his classmates out and they would help him in return as indicated by Ojiro teaching him some basics for hand to hand in a few days' time.

When he was ready, Adrien had come to this part of the gym as instructed, basically a large martial arts hall filled with mats that had various markings for the different martial arts that the students practiced. Several students were here practicing various arts like judo, karate, taekwondo and others that Adrien couldn't identify. There were also people who used swords practice kendo with wooden ones in one area, but Yaoyorozu was in another area already stretching and Adrien presumed that was where bojutsu would be done normally.

He'd gone over there as she was finishing up and he limbered up himself so that they could practice. Now that he was ready he was going to first see more of what he was working with before making changes or suggestions to her.

As soon as Yaoyorozu was done making the staff she handed it to Adrien, and he held it in his left hand while she made a second one for herself. It was a decent length though a shade shorter than he usually used, likely due to the biological differences between him and Yaoyorozu, though it was about the same weight as his own one and that was odd as it was lighter then it looked.

"It's not a standard metal, is it?" Adrien asked switching to French as Yaoyorozu finished making her own one. "And Marinette told me you're practicing French with her so you can with me as well if you want."

"No, it's an alloy I know of that is lightweight so won't do as much damage but will still take down most villains." Yaoyorozu confirmed in French surprised that Agreste was ok with it but not complaining as she did want to improve and wondering if he knew any Italian as she was planning on that being her next language due to her family's planned trip to Venice. "Also, I was initially trained on wooden staffs, so this is similar enough in weight and length. I know yours is adjustable though not how."

"Propriety tech." Adrien said simply. "I don't know either and Technus guards his patents closely."

"Makes sense, all the support people do." Yaoyorozu said. "So, what now?"

"Now we practice." Adrien said as he spun the staff in his left hand to assess it and get used to how it would move in combat. "I need to get a feeling for your skill level first as I didn't assess that in the battle trial. I'll be on the defensive more. I can't teach you my style, you lack the dexterity and strength that I have but I can at least see how you fight. Our last one I was focused on beating you not how you actually fought."

"I get that." Yaoyorozu said and she suddenly attacked holding the staff in two hands and swinging the top portion at him.

Adrien easily parried it still only holding it in his left hand before he began to spin it more and went defensive to continue parrying Yaoyorozu's attacks so that he deflected them away from him. It wasn't hard as while she knew how to use a staff, it was clear that she lacked some finesse with one. She also seemed to favor the overhand part of the staff above her right hand and going high rather than the lower part beneath her left hand.

In the end Adrien just held his staff between his hands and raised it to intercept another overhand strike before he used his strength to push it up and throw the girl off balance with the move, something that showed him that she needed to work a little on her footwork to avoid it when a stronger opponent used his or her strength on her. He then swept his staff low and hit Yaoyorozu in the ankles hard enough to take her legs from under her and put her on her back on the mat while causing her to drop the staff that he then kicked away but not hard enough to do anything more than bruise her.

"Not bad." Adrien said barely panting as he offered Yaoyorozu his hand which she took so he could haul her up, but she still blushed a bit at the contact of their hands even if it was permissible and let go as soon as she was on her feet. "You have a basic understanding, but you rely on your dominant hand too much."

"What do you mean?" Yaoyorozu asked panting a bit from the exertion she'd exerted to try and hit Adrien and had failed in that endeavor.

"A staff is a useful weapon due to its length but only if it is used properly." Adrien said replicating Yaoyorozu's hold in front of her. "You have a good base and hold but you favor the right-hand side."

Adrien showed her with a few practice swings before he transitioned into using the left for an upward strike to hit low surprising her. He then spun the staff in his hands before he held it in his right hand at a ready position by his side.

"When fighting with a staff, your greatest assets are your reach and your defense while your weakness is enclosed spaced like hallways as that is where the size can be a problem." Adrien explained. "With my staff, I can block any attack from a similar style weapon while only using half my weapon which means that I still having the other half. Here, I'll show you. Attack me again."

Yaoyorozu just shrugged and did that as she attacked Adrien again with an overhand strike. Right than move his body, Adrien simply moved up the left side of the staff to block it and then swung the right side around to strike Yaoyorozu in the elbow though he slowed it down enough to not do anything more than sting her before he stepped back.

"See." Adrien said. "I was able to block and counter with the other part of the weapon. It is similar to dual wielding swords or daggers only you have one whole weapon so you can also block a middle strike but don't have the greater variance of attack angles a dual wielder would have. That extra reach adds to your defensive capabilities as well."

"I see, I have done some training with that part of the staff, but I always favored the over hand stuff as it worked better, and I didn't have the time to focus more on it due to my Quirk studies." Yaoyorozu admitted. "But I know that a weapon is an extension of your own body, so it makes sense to be like that."

"Exactly." Adrien said. "A staff does work well offensively but it's true skill lies in defense and counter, though footwork is important to which we will work on in time. Let's go again."

Yaoyorozu nodded as she attacked Adrien once more. Adrien instantly went on the defensive though he was impressed by how much Yaoyorozu had understood and adapted between fights. He still put her on her back though she showed more potential this time. She got up and they kept at it for the rest of the afternoon.

By the time it was time to head home Yaoyorozu was bruised but glad about the progress they had made as she was almost able to hit Agreste. They'd have a few more session but so far it was going well, and she was improving with a staff under Agreste's guidance.

"Ok you two, this will be a standard sparing match as if it was in the Sports Festival and under the rules we use in the Sports Festival." Cementoss said to Momo and Marinette as they stood in a square of concrete in Gym Gamma facing each other. "You will be out if you end up out of the white markings, or if you are rendered either immobile long enough for capture, or unconscious by your opponent, or you yield. Understood?"

"Yes." The girls said with a nod at the teacher.

It was a few days after their chat and as Adrien was off training with Ojiro right now they'd decided that this was the perfect time to spar. They needed a teacher present and had asked Cementoss as he had one of the best two Quirks for it, better in fact as Midnight's apparently didn't work as well on women as it did on men for some reason, and was available for it at the moment. He'd agreed and taken them to Gym Gamma that had been fully repaired with Power Loader's aid after Agreste's tests and was now set up.

"Very well." Cementoss said as he created a seat for himself at the halfway point and sat in it to officiate the fight. "Then begin."

As soon as he said that both girls acted right away. Yaoyorozu created a net from her forearm that she threw at Marinette more to distract her then to incapacitate her. Momo knew that Marinette's Quirk took a moment to activate, and she had to make her item as fast as she could but due to its size she needed an extra moment to make it. That was why she used the net to distract Marinette.

Marinette saw the net coming and leapt back with a flip as she activated Lucky Charm, the pink light it created forming under at her right hand. As she was flipping, Momo had ripped her shirt off, it seemed to be designed for that specially, so that she was just in a sports bra that didn't manage to entirely hide her cleavage and she created her item from her side and abdomen. She did all this while Marinette was flipping back and landed a good distance away from her and looked at her hand to see what she'd gotten.

In her hand was a squish, almost putty like, ball with a U.A. PE kit design as that was what Marinette was wearing at the moment. She was confused by it until she looked up to see that Momo had created a canon, a gods damned canon. She'd heard that the girl liked them, but it was still a bit of a surprise to suddenly be staring down the business end of one.

However, as Momo brought the canon to bear, Marinette's visioned grayed and she saw the ball in her hand, then the mouth of the canon and finally the ignition that Momo was about to hit light up in that order. Instantly she knew what to do.

With an experienced pitch that any baseball pitcher would be impressed by, Marinette tossed the ball at the mouth of the canon with all her strength as Momo went to set it off. Years of throwing her yo-yo had made Marinette accurate with a projectile and the ball sailed fast and true. Thanks to her enhanced strength she got it there as Momo hit the ignition and the ball went into the mouth of the canon.

Marinette had an idea what was going to happen, but she charged forward anyway as whatever explosive thing Momo was using, likely a capture based one, hit the putty ball and blew up the canon. Thankfully it was far enough away so as not to hit Momo with shrapnel.

Momo was surprised by that as she hadn't seen what Marinette had done but because she was behind it she wasn't too effected. However, the smoke it created was a problem and she staggered back and coughed as it engulfed her, creating a staff in her right hand to defend herself as Marinette was no doubt using the smoke to close the distance between them.

That was where her mistake was. Momo's Quirk, like Marinette's, had some strange side effect in creating a light when it was active, and Marinette saw that through the smoke as she charge and knew roughly where Momo was. Just as Momo finished making the staff she felt slender but strong feminine fingers encircle her right wrist and twist hard. Marinette was a lot stronger than Momo and she had to roll with it to avoid the other girl breaking her wrist and dropped the staff in the process with a clang. That was basically it for her.

As soon as Marinette had Momo's wrist she pressed her advantage. First she disarmed her friend and then she slammed her knee into Momo's gut as hard as she had done to Jiro in the battle trial. Momo gasped as the air was driven from her lungs and she bent forward unable to think straight after the hit. Marinette used that to grab her around the throat with her free right hand before she swept her right leg at Momo's left and took her legs from under her so that the taller girl was now in midair being held by the wrist and throat.

However, rather than slam Momo into the concrete like she wanted, she pivoted and threw Momo with all her strength to where she thought the nearest out line was. The reason for this was that Momo's Quirk created items through her skin, so Marinette didn't want to hold the girl any longer then she absolutely had to and used that move to toss her to the side rather than risk seriously hurting the girl by trying to knock her out with a slam into the concrete.

Momo was still winded and too shocked by what had happened to react as she was throw hard enough to dispel the remaining smoke before she hit the concrete hard and rolled out of the ring. She was done for, and Marinette quickly ran to see if her friend was ok.

"Yaoyorozu is out, Dupain-Cheng wins." Cementoss said simply to officially end the sparring session before looking at Marinette. "I think you should take her to Recovery Girl Dupain-Cheng, just to make sure that she's ok."

"Of course." Marinette said as she reached her friend and crouched down. "You ok Momo?"

"Give me a moment." Momo panted in Japanese, she was nowhere near coherent enough to try and use French, from the ground upset at losing but knowing that it was a chance if she let Marinette get close to her and glad she'd at least gotten some form of offense off. "I need to catch my breath, you winded me good but nothing feels broken. Just a sore throat."

"Yeah I did the same to Jiro during the battle trial, but I knocked her out rather than throw her, sorry." Marinette said sticking to Momo's native tongue. "I couldn't let you use your Quirk while I had a hold of you so winding you and then throwing you was the best tactic, and the throat hold was just easiest for me."

"Clever, if you hadn't I would have produced something to catch you or get you off me at least." Momo admitted. "I just wasn't expecting the smoke or what happened with my canon. What did happen by the way?"

"I used my Quirk to give me something to beat you and it gave me a ball that was squishy like putty." Marinette said surprising Momo. "Then when I used the second half of my Quirk and it told me to throw it into the canon and it all made sense. It created an item to block your canon and distract you long enough for me to close the gap, find you thanks to you activating your Quirk, and then it was just a mix of close combat and speed to beat you. I couldn't pin you and I didn't want to knock you out as I don't know how to do so safely, so I went with winding and throwing you."

"Not bad, it certainly worked." Momo said as she got her breath back. "Let's go to the nurse's office so I can be looked over and we can debrief that fight. You beat me really quickly there."

"Sure, sounds good." Marinette said as she helped Momo to her feet and allowed her to lean on her as they headed off to see Recovery Girl talking about the fight the whole way.

Marinette was glad for the training, and it told her one important thing, her Quirk when facing Momo would likely give her something to distract the girl as a way around Momo's versatility that Marinette's own Quirk couldn't take into account. That was interesting for sure, and it meant that sometimes she wouldn't get a complete negation like she did with Jiro but rather a work around to win which made sense given the versatility of some Quirks. Hopefully Adrien was currently having as much fun and learning plenty while training with Ojiro.

"Alright today we're just going to do an assessment of your raw abilities and then we're going to use the clear area to go over proper techniques." Ojiro said to Adrien as they met in an area of the gym for boxing and other hand to hand solo training. "I want to see what I'm working with with you, so I know how to teach you going forward. With your strength though I'd rather not spare hand to hand with you but I would like to face you with a staff in a bit once we're done with your basic training."

"I understand and sure I can do that." Adrien said. "How about this time next week for the sparring?"

"Works for me." Ojiro said with a nod. "It will help me be able to counter a staff should I ever face a villain who uses one."

"Makes sense." Adrien said before asking. "Now what?"

It was a few days after Adrien had begun to help Yaoyorozu with her staff work but today was a break from that so that he could train with Ojiro while Marinette for some reason was sparing with Yaoyorozu. Ojiro had been helping Hagakure out a bit as well, but she was working out alone in the weight room so now it was just the pair of guys. Adrien would also help the invisible girl with stealth but that wasn't necessary at the moment and she still hadn't talked to Marinette yet so they weren't doing that just yet.

Currently Adrien and Ojiro were in the special area where kids with boxing or martial arts experience came to train their blows alone. Already a few were doing so be it on a speed bag, using the mirror to work on their kicks and punches, or using a standard punching bag. As for the two first years, they were with the last one of those and in the area where there were a few punching bags, most were normal ones but one was a special reinforced bag for those with strength Quirks, it was where Sato and Kirishima worked on their punches.

To no one's surprise, they were at the reinforced one. While Ojiro had thought that with him on the other side he could hold the normal one for Agreste, his raw strength would likely got through the bag if the French boy wasn't too careful. It wouldn't with this one though, but he was still on one side to hold it steady.

"Now I first assess how hard you can hit, kick, knee, and deliver an elbow blow." Ojiro said. "Show me how strong you are when you are attacking."

"Ok." Adrien said with a shrug as he took a fighting stance on the balls of his feet and then kicked the bag as hard as he could.

Ojiro had to admit, for someone with apparently no martial arts training, Agreste could at least stand like one. Then again he did have weapons training and he'd watched the French boy closely during the battle trial and knew that he was exceptionally light on his feet, more so then he should be without his mother's constitution thanks to her Quirk, but all that would help. Then came the kick.

Agreste may not have had training, but he knew how to kick. The bag moved a bit and Ojiro used his body to brace it. What followed was a series of kicks that showed that while there was no technique behind them, Agreste had a basic understanding of what to do when it came to hand-to-hand fighting.

"Ok you're your kicks are good now show me your punches." Ojiro said as he held the bag. "Don't hold back."

Again, Agreste attacked it with vigor and the skill was there. The force of his punches moved the bag and Ojiro didn't doubt that taking either a punch or kick from Agreste would break through a defense easily and probably most bones.

After that they worked in knees and elbows. Those were worse for sure but would still cause some damage if they landed, likely more if done correctly. Ojiro knew that Dupain-Cheng had knocked out Jiro with a single knee and there was little doubt in his mind that Agreste could do that as well.

"Alright I've got a good assessment." Ojiro said as they moved away from the bag. "Your punches and kicks are fine though I will teach you some more traditional ways to use them, so they aren't so raw. As for your knee and elbow blows, those could use some work so we will start with those."

"Sounds good to me." Adrien said. "Where shall we begin?"

"Let's start with your weakest, your elbows." Ojiro said. "They're an underrated style these days anyway so worth some work. Elbow strikes, same with knee strikes in fact, are really useful when you get in too close to your opponent and can be really good to take them down as they're usually used for headshots."

"Alright so how do we do this?" Adrien asked.

"First I teach you and then it is repetition until it is second nature." Ojiro said with a grin. "So, watch and then copy me."

Ojiro showed Adrien how to throw a proper cross elbow. Adrien copied it and then after a few corrections from Ojiro he was able to do it at an acceptable level. From there it was just repetition and practice to perfect it.

For the rest of the session, the boys practiced various blows and Ojiro told Agreste that when training he should try to do a set number of the same blow every day so that he could do it in his sleep. Overall, it was a good session and Adrien took what he learned to make himself stronger and better when it came to close combat. Hopefully Marinette's sparing with Yaoyorozu was as productive as his training with Ojiro had been.

The rest of the two weeks flew by for all of Class 1-A as they all prepared for the Sports Festival. They all continued their training, both solo and in groups whenever planned, and all got stronger.

Adrien helped with Yaoyorozu's staff work more while also training with Ojiro and on his own to improve his hand-to-hand skills, and with Marinette but that was more normal for them. He even spared with Ojiro in combat using the staff that Yaoyorozu had made him. It was close but he won more due to strength then skill but still it was a good learning experience and Ojiro's tail was unpredictable to face so it was no surprise he'd earned his spot at U.A.

All that was behind them now though as the day had finally arrived. It was time for the U.A. Sports Festival, first year's edition, to begin and now they were all in it to win it. No one knew how it would pan out, but they all knew one thing for certain, it was going to be intense, interesting and unexpected so they were all eager for it to start as they gathered in their waiting room as the moment that the Sports Festival began drew near.

I think that is a good place to end this long, training montage style, chapter as we see but a fraction of how some of Class 1-A got ready as well as how Adrien and Marinette are continuing their bonding with their classmates. Next up the Sports Festival truly begins and that will be a good few chapters so stay tuned for plenty of excitement and action to come. That is all I have for now though so I will leave this chapter off here. If you like it or have any questions please let me know in reviews or PMs, I will try to answer them as best I could and post any questions asked between uploads at the start of the next chapter and do follow and favorite this, so you are alerted to future uploads.
