Here it is, the twenty-third full chapter of Miraculous Quirks released on time as promised. I have been making good progress on the draft with at least 2 more drafts done since the last upload and well on my way to getting two to three more done this weekend depending on outside factors. That is all the administrative stuff I have for now though but there was a question from a recent review that I will answer now and do keep the reviews coming as I enjoy hearing from y'all.

Are their friends going to discover their secret? Well, already one of their friends is curious regarding the Miraculous duo due to their abilities, tactical knowledge, and battlefield actions but I won't say whether or not any find out. At least 2 more will get curious about things going forward during different events and others might but you will have to wait and see if their secret is ever discovered.

Anyway, that is all I have for this pre-chapter note which means that it is time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the 23rd full chapter of Miraculous Quirks.

Disclaimer: I do not own either of these great works of fiction.

Chapter 23: Names and Offers

Marinette and Adrien walked into their homeroom and dropped their stuff off as the class began to fill up and their classmates discussed the fallout of the Sports Festival. It was a few days after the end of the Festival and already they were seeing how famous they were becoming from it. People in the streets were staring at them when they were in their uniforms, some even came up to talk to them or get pictures in the wake of how well they'd done in the Sports Festival.

For most of the class this was a first as they commented on it, or in Sero's case complained after the 'Nice Try' chant he got after his stunning loss to Todoroki that saw half the stadium get frozen when Todoroki used too much power. However, for the French duo this was something they were used to. Adrien especially as he'd gotten it back in the day in civilian and hero form while Marinette had gotten it only in hero form. Still, they were already used to it so when they got stopped for it they didn't mind.

The one thing that was still constant from the Sports Festival was that Marinette still had her entire left arm and side wrapped in bandages. The burn had been pretty bad to begin with, and she'd made it worse by ripping her shirt off so while she wouldn't see any scars from it, she was still under orders to keep it wrapped up just to be safe.

She'd get all clear after one more session with Recovery Girl in a few days to make sure that the old hero had fully healed her. The only other one in their class still bandaged was Midoriya but after what he suffered that wasn't a surprise.

There was one more development that they'd all learned about in the wake of the Sports Festival, something that had happened elsewhere but during it. Ida's elder brother, the Turbo Hero: Ingenium, had been tracking the Hero Killer: Stain, a villainous serial killer who was targeting heroes throughout the nation, in Hosu City, when he'd come across villain. A fight had ensued and while Stain had left Ingenium alive, it was clear that the Hero Killer had won and made sure that Ingenium would have to retire by permanently paralyzing him from the waist down.

That had occurred during the semifinals of the Sports Festival and had been why Ida had left so suddenly during it as he had to go and check up on his brother and make sure that his family was ok. He'd come back when classes had resumed and seemed fine but all of them were worried about him and they were keeping a close eye. However, today he seemed good as he came into the classroom with Midoriya chatting as they made their way to their seats.

"Alright class take your seats." Came the bored and tired voice of Mr. Aizawa as the door opened again and everyone was suddenly in their seats. "This is going to be an important class so pay attention."

"Mr. Aizawa, you're bandages, ribbit." Tsu said and they all noticed that their teacher didn't have any facial bandages anymore though he now had a crescent shaped scar under his right eye and his arms were still bandaged but no longer in slings. "They're gone."

"Yes the old lady went a little overboard with her latest healing." Aizawa said rubbing his scar. "But that's beside the point. Today is a special class on hero informatics."

Instantly the whole class went stiff with worry, though mainly that was because none of them knew what the word informatics meant. Some were worried about a test, others an intensively dry lesson, others just didn't know what Aizawa had in store for them other than the fact that they might be expelled. That was why none of them expected what happened next.

"You need code names." Aizawa said causing the whole class to breathe out a collective sigh of relief at it. "It is related to the pro hero draft pics I mentioned after the Sports Festival."

"What?" Kirishima asked. "What's that?"

"The pro hero draft where pros make internship offers to students." Aizawa explained in his usual tone. "Usually, you wouldn't have to deal with this until next year, but your class is different. Already a lot of pros have expressed interest in you, so we are addressing this now. On the board are those of you who received offers from pros in the wake of the Sports Festival."

Aizawa pressed a button and instantly a series of names appeared on the board with bar lines next to them that extended and counted up until they ended. At the top was Todoroki with more than 4,100 offers and Bakugo behind him at over 3,000. After that it was a big drop before Marinette's name appeared third with 527, Tokoyami with 360, Adrien with 318, Ida with 301, surprisingly Kaminari with 272, Yaoyorozu at 108, Kirishima with 68, Uraraka at 20 and finally Sero with 14. The notable absences on the board were Midoriya and Ashido despite both of them reaching the quarterfinals.

"Huh Todoroki got more than Bakugo, that's the opposite to how they ended up in the Sports Festival." Sero noted as Bakugo growled at losing to Todoroki. "Who would have thought."

"Dupain-Cheng got a fair bit more than Tokoyami despite both reaching the semifinals." Hagakure said excitedly turning to her. "You go girl, way to represent the women of the class."

"I'm honestly surprised at that amount." Marinette said her eyes wide. "That's a lot of interest in me."

"Likely because you gave Todoroki a good fight and took a lot of damage to lose while I was a bad matchup to Bakugo." Tokoyami said with a bow of his head to Marinette. "Well done though, you showed who was better."

"I guess Agreste got that much for such a good performance against Bakugo." Sato said as Koda just nodded. "Probably the same for Uraraka though I'm surprised by how many Kaminari got after his quick loss to Dupain-Cheng."

"I can't believe people want us." Uraraka said shaking Ida who was as serious as ever. "This is unreal."

"Few, at least I'm wanted." Yaoyorozu said with a sigh as she wasn't expecting anything after failing as badly as she had against Tokoyami. "You did well Todoroki."

"Most of that is because of my father." Todoroki said dismissively. "Not because of my skill. Bakugo earned his offers, I didn't."

"Bakugo probably lost some because they didn't want a dude who had to be chained up at the end." Kaminari said. "That personality of yours is really going to be a problem man."

"If a hero doesn't want me then that makes them weak." Bakugo yelled at him. "How that many wanted a brain-dead idiot like you who had to be carried out like a princess is beyond me."

"Harsh but true." Jiro said with a snicker. "I have so many pictures and a video of Dupain-Cheng carrying you like a damsel in distress Kaminari, it makes those outfits worth it."

"I did say I'd make it memorable." Marinette said with a smile as Kaminari sighed at the ribbing he was rightfully getting. "Still, you must have been impressive at other stages Kaminari to get that much interest."

"Thank you." Kaminari said with a smile.

"Or they just want a charger." Jiro said unable to contain it and Kaminari sighed again.

"Midoriya, they were probably creeped out by your strange Quirk after what you did against Todoroki." Mineta said shaking Midoriya before him as Midoriya tried to parse the fact that he had no offers while holding himself just above his chair as part of his training. "Who would want a sidekick that is always breaking himself."

"Silence." Aizawa said his Quirk briefly activating to silence the class. "You will all be interning for a week at a hero agency regardless of your offers hence the need for codenames. Remember this though, these offers are from heroes who are investing in your potential so don't mess them up as they can be rescinded. Now, to pick your names, I've brought someone in to help as this isn't my forte."

"Yes, you want to make sure that you have chosen a good name or else you will be stuck with a bad one for life." Midnight said as she strode in in full costume causing a few of the guys to cheer. "Right Eraser Head?"

"Midnight has final say, I'm taking a nap." Aizawa said ignoring her as he got out his sleeping bag and was in it a second later napping in a corner.

"Think carefully on your names." Midnight said seriously as she passed out 22 whiteboards and markers for them to write their names down. "Your name says what kind of hero you want to be. That said, two of you already have registered names so if you can please come up and share them. I've already approved of them as I agree with my counterpart in Paris, they are good names for both of you and fit your styles well. Dupain-Cheng, you can go first."

"Oh, ok." Marinette said nervously as she wrote down her hero name for the first time in a long time and felt warmth in her chest at it as it was finally time to reclaim it officially and share it with her friends and classmates. "Thank you."

With that Marinette got up and walked to the front of the classroom. Once there she flipped her board over to reveal her name to the class. Instinctively she'd written it in French not Japanese or with kanji, so it took a moment for some of the class to read it as it was the same in English that most knew.

"Ladybug?" Mina asked looking up at Marinette. "Just that, no special hero title."

"Not yet, those things aren't as common in France." Marinette said shaking her head. "And yes Ladybug, that's my hero name. They're considered lucky in many cultures and as the base of my Quirk is essentially luck, so it felt right. I actually had my costume made to fit the name."

"That explains the pattern." Jiro said. "Now I get it."

"It's a great and fitting name for you." Midnight said as Marinette smiled before returning to her seat. "Agreste, you also have a name that is officially recorded back in France so you can share yours with us as well."

Adrien nodded having written it half in Japanese and half in French as the second half was always in his native tongue and got up once Marinette was seated to go to the front of the class. Once there he flipped the board over to reveal his hero name to the class at last. Finally, he could go by it again.

"Cat Noir?" Kirishima asked, the latter word unfamiliar to him as it wasn't in Japanese or English. "I am reading that correctly, right?"

"You are." Adrien said with a nod. "Noir is French for black, so it is literally black cat. They're bad omens in most of European culture and bringers of bad luck which includes destruction. Seeing as my Quirk is called Cataclysm and you know what it can do I chose a name and outfit that fitted its darker nature. Hence Cat Noir."

"A truly worthy name for another walker of the dark." Tokoyami said with a nod of approval at the fitting name Agreste had used. "I will use it as inspiration for my own name as I too draw from the abyss for my hero identity."

"It's not cute or cuddly but with your Quirk it works, and it adds to that pretty bad boy look you have." Midnight said with a little shake and wink as Adrien uncomfortably walked back to his seat and Marinette growled slightly at the coy flirting of her teacher though only Momo picked up on it. "Ok, now that you have seen two approved names it's the rest of yours turn. Who's first?"

Almost instantly Aoyama was up as if he didn't want to be upstaged by his countrymen. Though this was Aoyama, he likely was doing this more for attention than anything else. That was proven a second later with his hero name.

"Behold." Aoyama said smiling as he proudly held his sign above his head. "I am the Shinning Here: I Cannot Stop Twinkling."

"Bit of a mouthful, here let me help." Midnight said as the class looked confused, and she began to change it. "How about this?"

She'd changed it to Can't Stop Twinkling. Aoyama looked at it and nodded in agreement at it.

"It fits me, merci." Aoyama said and sat down with his name approved while the class still processed that.

"I'm next." Mina said going up and showing her sign. "Alien Queen!"

"Like that monster with acid blood from that pre-Quirk era film, no way." Midnight said rejecting it to everyone's surprise as it wasn't a bad name.

Mina groaned and went back to her seat as Asui came up with her sign and explained that it was a name that she'd been thinking of for a while. She revealed it to be the Rainy Season Hero: Froppy. That one was accepted by the whole class, and many chanted the name. With that cheer they began to work on the names in earnest.

Following Asui, there was a run-on accepted names as, in no particular order, many of the class came up with their names. Mineta was to be the Fresh Picked Hero: Grape Juice. Kirishima was honoring his favorite hero Crimson Riot by going with the Sturdy Hero: Red Riot so had had lot to live up to. Momo was blunt with her choice of being the Everything Hero: Creati. As were Sero, Sato, Hagakure, and Ojiro going with the Taping Hero Cellophane, the Sweets Hero: Sugarman, the Invisible Hero: Invisible Girl and the Martial Arts Hero: Tailman. Jiro just used her Quirk's name as she became the Hearing Hero: Earphone Jack while Kaminari rejected her suggestion and opted to be the Stun Gun Hero: Chargebolt.

Others had followed Marinette and Adrien's lead and not chosen a title just yet. Those were Shoji as Tentacole, Uraraka as Uravity, and an accepted name for Mina as Pinky. Todoroki and Ida just went with their first names of Shoto and Tenya respectively for their names.

Tokoyami had stuck to his words and gone with the Jet-Black Hero: Tsukuyomi who was apparently the Japanese god of the night and no doubt a good friend of Plagg's if Adrien knew his kwami well so that could be interesting when he told Plagg about that. Koda had been the only one to not speak his name but showed them and was approved that he would be the Petting Hero: Anima.

That only left Bakugo and Midoriya on names. Bakugo became the first since Mina to get a name rejected when he went with King Explosion Murder and for good reason as it was a little too violent though it did fit Bakugo's personality well. Then it was Midoriya's turn, and he came up and flipped it over to much of the class's shock as they read his shaky kanji.

"Really dude." Kirishima asked. "That's what you've picked?"

"Yeah that could be your name for life." Sero added. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah I am." Izuku said with a smile. "I used to hate it but then someone helped me see it in a new way, a better way and now I really like it. Deku. My hero's name has to be Deku."

Marinette couldn't help but notice that Uraraka was practically glowing at that as she beamed at Midoriya while he praised her for helping him take ownership of the name Bakugo had used to belittle him for years. She was the one who'd helped Midoriya see it in a positive light and called him that in a good way. Sure, Bakugo also called him Deku in the negative way, but Uraraka's use of it had really helped change it for him and she was clearly happy.

Not to be outdone Bakugo got up and went with Lord Explosion Murder next which was rejected as well as it was basically the same thing. It looked like he wouldn't have a hero name as he wasn't going to change it and Midnight wasn't going to approve it before the bell went to end the class and Aizawa got up while Midnight stood to his side.

"Ok I hope you all have names." Aizawa said in a bored tone. "As you will be using them in your internships. They will run a week starting on Monday. Those of you with offers will chose from them. Those without will get a list of 40 agencies who have agreed to take students from U.A. I will now hand out your lists and forms, please get them to me by the end of the week."

With that Aizawa began handing out forms and giving the lists of those with offers to the students in question while Midnight helped and handed out the generic list to those without offers. Soon it was over and both teachers left indicating that it was lunch. At that some students began to look over the lists, others chatted, and a few left for lunch.

"Ok I have to ask." Mina said coming over to Marinette and Adrien's desks in the back corner. "Why did you two already have names?"

"Oh yeah, I remember you saying you had them back at the start of the year but wouldn't tell us until it was the right time." Uraraka said joined Mina as Tsu came over while Mineta began harassing Midoriya. "So, you are Ladybug then Marinette and Agreste is what was it, Cat Noir?"

The French word was clearly foreign to the Japanese girl, and she struggled a little with it. However, Marinette knew that her friend would eventually get the hang of it. Plus, now she got a chance to explain a bit about her life in Paris and most of it would be the truth only a few centuries out of date.

"It all has to do with the history of Francois Dupont High School." Marinette explained. "And the secrecy of the Hero Course there. You see, we all chose a name after getting accepted and while we can change it during or after, we often stick with it, so I chose Ladybug and was known as that for 2 years there before the exchange allowed me to reveal that I was Ladybug to Adrien."

"And I was Cat Noir." Adrien said. "When we were accepted to U.A. we were told we could keep them, but we couldn't mention them until it was time which is now."

"I see, I have heard of the secrecy of that school, so it makes sense." Momo said having done a fair bit of research on the French school her classmates and friends had attended prior to coming to U.A. so as to know a little more about them though the secrecy meant that she couldn't find out specifics. "But why animals? Both of you have an animal-based name which is a little odd to me."

"Old French tradition." Marinette said evasively as she reached into her memory for the full backstory that had been prepared for them so as to explain away their name choice. "Dating back to the pre-Quirk era in fact."

"Wait that long ago?" Ojiro asked having come over with Hagakure to get in on the conversation going on in the back of the classroom. "That's what, 250 years ago?"

"The Quirk era officially began with the first recorded Quirk, or as it was called back then Meta Ability, and that was 221 years ago." Momo said as if she was reciting it from a book, which knowing her memory she might be. "The moment is considered the advent of Quirks though the current society really didn't come about until after the Quirk wars that began about 150 to 200 years ago or so, depending on the conflict you look at."

"As expected that is accurate." Adrien said with a nod at Yaoyorozu and her intelligence that was inadvertently helping them solidify their backstory. "France was one of the many countries that was ravaged by the Quirk wars, especially Paris. We're, er, not we have known for our rational behavior when power and usurpation or removal of it is involved."

"Huh?" Uraraka asked confused.

"What happened in France and Paris in particular during the Quirk wars made Maximillian Robespierre look like a tame puppy." Marinette said. "Which given what the Reign of Terror he unleashed on our city."

"Who?" Mina asked. "I don't know European history at all."

"A radical left wing French revolutionary who was one of the key figures in the fall of the French monarchy in the late 1700s I believe." Momo said looking to Marinette and Adrien for confirmation and they nodded for her to continue. "Instituted the Reign of Terror that decapitated a lot of people with a guillotine I believe. It only ended when he himself was guillotined."

"A little simplified but that's a rough overview of it, yes." Adrien said. "Basically, it was a bloody period in French history, and we had a habit of multiple such rebellions and revolutions over the following century after our first one. They died down until the advent of Quirks when the worst of all of them occurred during the early years of the advent back when Quirks first manifested in Paris. It was so destructive that we have very few records from that period, along with about a century prior to the advent. That's how much Paris lost in the Quirk wars."

"Woah that's worse than it was out here in Japan." Momo said her eyes wide. "And it was bad here for a long time."

"When the French do civil strife we kinda go all out and push the limits of the extremes, usually left wing but occasionally right as well." Marinette said with a shrug. "And it was bad back then. We got out of it faster than most though because of the old legends and that is what is tied to our names."

"Yes that." Momo said clearly interested and glad that they were back on topic. "What are these legends or traditions you speak of?"

"Honestly we don't know that much about them ourselves." Adrien lied. "Because most of the records of that era were destroyed, in large part to destroy the symbols of the past that some revolutionary group did because another revolutionary group was using them as a rallying point, but what helped Paris end the violence and recover was the legends of our pre-Quirk heroes."

"Wait you had pre-Quirk heroes?" Uraraka asked before glancing at Deku to see if he was interested in this as it sounded right up his alley, but he was currently pouring over his internship options and lost to the world in a cute mumble storm, well it was cute to her but annoying to everyone else. "Ok I'll ask Deku later if he knows, I don't want to disturb him just yet."

"I doubt Midoriya knows seeing as we barely know ourselves." Marinette said. "All we know is that a few decades before the Quirk wars ravaged France, there was a battle of good and evil going on in Paris between two heroes and at least one full time villain who may or may not have had help. Same with the heroes in fact if the few surviving records are to be believed."

"But they would have been normal Quirkless humans." Momo said a confused look on her face. "Right?"

"We of course don't know as the records don't exist but as far as we know they weren't." Adrien said hating that he had to lie but they couldn't reveal the truth just yet. "We do know that there were two main ones who used an animal theme to their outfits and their names apparently. They appeared, or at least the experts who study them theorize, to have used advanced technology in their battle with an equally technologically advanced villain."

"That would make sense." Momo said buying it and again helping Adrien and Marinette in their story without realizing it. "It is known that because of the Quirk wars humanity is at least a century behind where it should be technology wise if not more so. We are barely beyond what we were before Quirks when it comes to the general public. If these heroes were high tech then that tech was almost certainly prized during the Quirk wars and would have been lost or destroyed to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands. I know that while Paris is known as a leading source for hero costumes, mainly thanks to Agreste's family, they are behind the UK when it comes to support items thanks to Technus being based there."

"My family has been in the fashion world since before Quirks." Adrien said which was true. "And after the advent they kept it up, adapting with society until the heroic age came and then capitalized on it, naturally. It's how we maintained being in the upper class throughout the conflicts. Well, that and the habit of the rich fleeing Paris at even a whiff of revolution seeing as we have a habit of lopping off the heads of the rich first and then anyone else who disagrees with whichever tyrant or group of tyrants have taken charge."

"That sounds so wrong." Mina said.

"Well old Japanese history isn't much better." Ojiro pointed out. "Weren't we the losers of some major global conflict and have had our own history of internal power struggles."

"It was called World War II and it is still taboo to really talk about it and the crimes our nation committed during it." Momo said. "We've long atoned for it but still, best to not dwell on it. As for the other stuff, yes, for centuries Japan was closed off to the world with the exception of a southern port that traded with the Dutch and during that period we had many internal conflicts as various shoguns rose and fell."

"All nations have dark histories that must be learned from but never repeated." Marinette said simply. "But back to the legends of our pre-Quirk heroes."

"Yes I am enjoying this tale, ribbit." Tsu said with a nod glad to be back on a better topic. "Animal based heroes sound cool."

"We don't actually know what animals they were." Marinette lied. "There are theories and records of an owl-based hero, but he seems to have been a supporting one and not one of the main two that were active at the time."

"However, what we do know is that they were animal themed and fought a villain who also had an animal theme for a few years on a near daily bases in the late 2010s." Adrien said truthfully, he had lived it after all. "And were beloved in Paris for their work. Even generations later when all records were destroyed during the Quirk wars, their memory was alive and maintained as they became legend. Right Aoyama?"

"Huh, what do you want from moi?" Aoyama said coming over with sparkles for some reason when Adrien raised his voice to get Aoyama's attention.

"We were just talking about the pre-Quirk heroes of Paris." Adrien said. "You know them right?"

"How can I not." Aoyama said. "Zey were très fantastique back in ze day. Anyone of French descent knows of zem. Ma mama and papa told me stories of zem as a kid zough zey were later interpretations of zem and almost certainly fictionalized."

"So, they were real?" Momo asked. "I don't mean to doubt you two, this is just a lot to take in as we don't know much about the last few decades of the pre-Quirk era here let alone in Europe."

"No worries Yaoyorozu." Adrien said. "It was hard for us to believe as well growing up. We heard stories but there is scant evidence on them beyond confirmation that they at least existed."

"Zat is true." Aoyama said. "Ma mama used to tell me bedtime stories about zem. Ze great heroes of Paris before zere were Quirks. Zey protected the French from an evil villain and are an inspiration to all of us. One of my reasons I became a hero was listening to the stories of the dynamic duo who are lost to time."

"What did happen to them?" Uraraka asked as Adrien and Marinette had to keep straight faces and not look at each other as Aoyama was closer to the truth than he knew as they were indeed lost to time. "The heroes that is."

"No one knows." Marinette lied. "They were active for only two or three years before they disappeared, at least based on what records survive."

"Naturally there are some theories." Adrien said. "The main one is that they succeeded in beating the villain and retired while keeping everything quiet so that few knew what had happened so as to protect those close to them."

"That one is the most likely as the villain too vanishes from the records around the same time as they did." Marinette said not adding that Hawkmoth retired for unknown reasons shortly after they vanished and relinquished his Miraculous as well as the Peacock and Rabbit ones to show he was no longer active. "But there are other theories."

"Oui." Aoyama said with a nod. "Some believe zat zey were defeated but at a cost of the villain's life or at least sacrificed zemselves to stop him."

Technically that wasn't too far off in a way Adrien thought. It was more that they were defeated in such a way that Hawkmoth couldn't fight them ever again and they couldn't return to the past but still.

"But I prefer what ma mama told me." Aoyama continued. "Zat they simply went dormant and zat one day zey will return when ze world needs zem the most and reveal zemselves to us once more."

"That is a bit fanciful though." Adrien pointed out even if Aoyama was right, they were back and currently sitting right in front of him. "They were around over 230 years ago so I doubt they would be alive today."

"True but zey vanished so who knows." Aoyama said with a shrug. "Zey are a great inspiration zough and for all we know zey were frozen in time and as such zey will one day return."

"As cool as that would be I doubt it." Adrien said. "But their legacy lives on at least. It was that legacy gave the people the heart to rise up against yet another tyranny and when the hero code of Rhode Island became the first one, France wasn't far behind."

"As much as we don't like to admit it, we do like to follow American trends in France." Marinette said. "Just never as good as seen by how our revolution actually went after being inspired by the American one, which we helped with. Paris was the first non-American city to have a heroic code and France became the second country after the United States to have one on a national level."

"We beat the Brits on that which was good." Adrien said with a smile. "We often one up them but they always return the favor as arrogantly as possible."

"Huh?" Mina asked again.

"France and England have a long rivalry." Marinette said. "But we beat them to the hero code and in homage to the heroes of the past, many French heroes chose animal themed names and outfits so long as they fit their Quirks and/or personalities."

"Francois Dupont became the first and eventually premier hero school in Paris." Adrien said though he didn't add that it was apparently founded by the Guardians in part to help with their potential cover when they returned and had to adapt to the new society they found themselves in. "Named after a pre-Quirk school that seemed to have some tie to the heroes though again records are extremely vague at best, and none are first hand from what I know."

"That and the whole added secrecy thing has become a tradition there, so we followed it." Marinette said with a shrug. "Some of our friends back home didn't even know that we were hero course students until the Sports Festival. Then again those are our civilian friends, our hero friends just learned our identities as they know our powers so could figure it out without Present Mic's helpful commentary."

"Oh yeah, were they rooting for you?" Uraraka asked. "You said they would be."

"Yeah they were." Marinette lied and this one was the most painful as it brought back memories of all her long-lost friends. "They got the time off to watch their corresponding year's U.A. Sports Festival, so they did that for ours. They were stunned to see Adrien and me in it as we didn't tell them why we were leaving Paris due to the whole secrecy thing."

"That's caput now though." Adrien said with a shrug. "Still good that we had support back home. They were impressed at how well we did."

"Though they all did comment on my injuries as they didn't expect me to suffer that many." Marinette said causing them all to look at her still bandaged left arm though they could only see her hand as she had her uniform on. "And my, er, attire in the semis."

"It was certainly improper, but we understood." Momo said sympathetically. "I too would have ended up like that, so I understand, and you did what was best."

"I wish I'd see…" Mineta began turning around at the mention of when he got a glimpse of Dupain-Cheng in her bra before Tsu used her tongue to slap him into silence.

"No perversions Mineta, you're lucky to be alive." Mina said. "Agreste can pack a punch."

"Just defending milady's honor." Adrien said before looking hard at Mineta. "And I will do it again if you creep on her, or any girl in this class for that matter."

"I always appreciate it." Marinette said getting a coo from Mina at the cuteness of the couple, they always knew how to play on her heartstrings and fill her need to see love. "Even if I can defend myself, as Mineta knows well, it is still nice to know I have backup when I can't do anything because I'm burned, bleeding, and trying to beat Todoroki at the time."

"So yeah, that is why we have those names." Adrien said. "But enough about that."

"Yeah have you decided on internship choices?" Marinette asked the girls. "We have a fair amount of options it seems."

"Not yet but I know that I will be going for a place by a large body of water so the sea or maybe a lake." Tsu said. "It's where I will really show off what I can do."

"Makes sense Tsu." Momo said. "As for me, I will be taking my offers home and thoroughly researching the heroes who were kind enough to offer a failure like me a chance to see where I best fit."

"It's Mt. Lady for me." Mineta said before anyone could address what Momo had just said.

"What about you Ochaco?" Tsu asked ignoring the little gremlin as it would just lead to something pervy from him. "You decided yet?"

"Yup, I'm going with the one run by the Battle Hero: Gunhead." Uraraka said doing a punch. "His offer is the one I'm going to accept,"

"I thought you were looking to rescue Uraraka." Izuku said turning to look at them at last having finished his analysis uninterrupted and decided on his top 3 from the 40 he could choose from. "You know, like Thirteen."

"That's the plan eventually but I want to broaden my knowledge and skills." Uraraka said. "The Sports Festival taught me that I really need to improve on my combat abilities if I want to be a more rounded hero."

"Makes sense." Marinette said. "I know that Adrien and I will be sitting down with our guardian to discuss this more and figure out which offer is best, but we do have a lot to look through, so it is for the best."

"Guardian?" Ojiro asked.

"Oh, right we haven't really explained that to most of you." Marinette said slightly embarrassed. "Our families aren't here so in order to live in Japan we need a guardian looking after us."

"He's a pro hero from Denmark, though he's extremely British, and a teacher at FDHS." Adrien said. "But he is good friends with Principal Nezu and is well connected in Japan, so he's come over to teach at U.A. while we are studying here."

"We'll see him in the third semester." Marinette said. "He's the instructor on Quirkless combat."

"Makes sense." Izuku said causing them to look at him though he didn't reveal that he already knew this as he'd yet to talk to Agreste and Dupain-Cheng about All Might. "Well think about it, some of us can't just use out Quirks to fight. Mr. Aizawa is the best example; he knows multiple martial arts that he uses to fight in conjunction with his Quirk. Even in our class, most of us don't have offensive based Quirks and some like Agreste and Yaoyorozu already use weapons in combat."

"That's part of why I am choosing Gunhead, he'll be able to teach me how to fight both in conjunction with and without my Quirk." Uraraka said with a nod. "Also, Deku, why were you shaking earlier."

"Oh that, training." Adrien said. "I was keeping my body just above the seat the entire time to work on my leg strength and core. The stronger I become the better my body can handle my Quirk."

"What a weird way to train." Hagakure said.

"But effective." Ojiro pointed out impressed with his classmate's training. "The isometric muscle contractions needed to keep you off your seat takes a lot of strength to accomplish."

All this was too much for Bakugo and he got up and left with a growl. He didn't care for any of that, he was here to be the best and was going to choose the best hero on his offer list so as to see how a true top hero worked. He'd seen who that was and was going to put his form in before grabbing some food. The rest could have their chat, he was going to the top.

-break-

The rest of the day passed by normally enough. The afternoon classes were normal and then it came time to leave for the station. Normally Marinette and Adrien would walk back with Midoriya, Uraraka and Ida but they needed to get back right away for their periodic catch up with Mage and to go over the internship offers they had, which they'd noticed included one each from the Guardian's Agency that they knew was the front for the Guardians of the Elements, so they had to discuss that with him.

That was why they didn't notice that Ida had already left, didn't see All Might approach Midoriya and Uraraka as they left the classroom in a bizarre position with an internship offer for Midoriya, none of that. They just enjoyed their return home glad to finally be able to use their hero names again and excited to see what the internships had in store for them.

Well, there it is, at last the class knows that Marinette and Adrien go by Ladybug and Cat Noir and at last the Miraculous duo can use their names again. They even got to tell a bit of their history to their classmates even if it was vague. Next up, the second Mage catchup and the internship offers, I wonder who will have made offers to them. However, that is all for this chapter so I will leave it here.
