Here it is, the fortieth full chapter of Miraculous Quirks released early as I am still a bit ahead of schedule with my draft so I can surprise you with it. As with the last chapter this one is on the shorter side hence why I could get it out early and surprise y'all again but the next one is going to be a fair bit longer and I expect it will be out at the usual time of 00:00 EST Friday as I still need to make the finishing touches to it. Anyway, that is all the administrative stuff I have for now though and as there are no questions or guest reviews to address here, though do keep the reviews coming as I enjoy hearing from y'all, I will leave this pre chapter note off here. That means that it is time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the 40th full chapter of Miraculous Quirks.

Disclaimer: I do not own either of these great works of fiction.

Chapter 40: Training Camp Day 1

Class B yawned and slowly walked behind their homeroom teacher as they made their way through the forest to a clearing where their training for the week would begin. They were up later than Class A so were already behind and Vlad King had already let them know that the moment they set off as a way to motivate them.

Like most of his class, Vlad was very competitive with Class A and saw his own Class B as the better crop of future heroes. Sure, Class A had been the center of attention during the first semester what with them being involved in USJ incident, the way they'd dominated in the Sports Festival to the point that none of Class B advanced to the final bracket, which was made worse by a General Studies and a Support Course student making it to that stage as well. Then to cap it off four members of Class A had played a pivotal role in capturing the Hero Killer.

Now, though, it was Class B's time to shine brighter than the other class, and Vlad made that clear to his kids as they made their way to the clearing where Class A was already training hard. As they walked, Vlad explained how they would get stronger by breaking themselves so that their Quirks grew back stronger than before. He'd already taken every one of his class's Quirks into account and he had worked with Aizawa and the Pussycats to develop a program especially for each of them.

That didn't stop Tokage from asking him how they would do it. She made a good point on the issue as their class had 20 unique Quirks and Class A 22, so space and supervision was going to be hard. Vlad just smiled at that and waited for the big surprise as they reached the large, rocky clearing where the training was taking place. As soon as they did his class just gaped at the sight of Class A before them.

"Damn it!" Bakugo yelled as he thrust his hands into boiling water to expand his sweet glands before blasting off a series of chain explosions above him to increase their power and what he could withstand without his gauntlets.

That cry along got all of Class B to focus on what was going on as they blinked at the sight of their classmates hard at work. It looked like hell and they themselves were about to join them in this torture.

It wasn't hard to see why it was hell. Near them was Todoroki sitting in a barrel of water as he alternated between freezing it and the area around him and melting the ice with his fire by slapping the side of the barrel first with his right hand and then his left. It was clear that he was regulating his temperatures with the two halves of his Quirk, and he was panting as he worked.

This was broken by a series of yells and Class B looked to see Sero on top of a mountain thing screaming as he let out a constant stream of tape from his elbows. He wasn't the only one yelling as Koji Koda was doing the same thing nearby to increase his vocal range and from a cave in the cliffside they could hear Tokoyami arguing with Dark Shadow as he tried to gain control of his Quirk when it was at its strongest but wildest.

As this was happening, Kirishima was pushed paste their views as he hardened, blocked and then backed up from Ojiro's tail attacks that here coming almost too fast for him to react to. It was clear that both of them were using their Quirks to strength each other with the other's Quirk.

They weren't the only pair doing that. Nearby Mezo Shoji was making multiple dupli arm appendages with eyes, ears and noses to try and spy something, which judging by a slight shimmer and movement of some random trash had to be a naked Toru Hagakure who was sneaking around him. That meant that both were honing their Quirks and skills off each other with Shoji increasing his scouting and search abilities and Hagakure her stealth ones.

Then on a table by a cliff face they could see four more of Class A sitting there stuffing their faces. Sato made sense as his Quirk turned sugar into power, so he was increasing his strength by eating sugary cakes and lifting weights with his boosted strength. The same was with Momo Yaoyorozu as she stuffed her face with high lipid foods while constantly making something from her arm. It was what was on the other end of the item she was making that was a bit odd.

On the other end was Adrien Agreste with is Quirk active in one hand and destroying Momo's creation as it came to him. At the same time, he was using his other hand to stuff his face with what looked like cheese or something high in protein to keep his Quirk charged and apparently extend his time limit with it.

In a similar fashion Marinette Dupain-Cheng was at the table as well though unlike the others she wasn't constantly eating. Instead, she was sitting with an item before her in a U.A. sports kit pattern staring at it intently while occasionally eating something from the same pile Agreste was using whenever there was a flicker of pink that indicated the item might vanish. Whatever she was doing, it had to do with extending the time limit of her Quirk though there was likely more to what she was doing as well.

Through all of this Tenya Ida was running in a long circle in what had to be some long-distance running exercise that no doubt helped his Engine Quirk and general leg strength. That made sense though why a ball with a sick looking Ochaco Uraraka was also bouncing around the area, occasionally changing direction thanks to Pixie-Bob's Earthflow Quirk was anyone's guess as they weren't sure how that was helping her Zero Gravity Quirk.

In the back drop of all of this was Tsuyu Asui who was climbing a large cliff using her Quirk, including her long tongue, while Jiro sharpened her Earphone Jacks at the base of the cliff next to Mina who was constantly producing acid next to her. Near them was Yuga Aoyama who was constantly blasting his Naval Laser into the sky and looking really uncomfortable from it.

The last two members of the Class A that they noticed were the perverted duo. Mineta was on his knees constantly pulling off his Pop Off balls as his scalp bled while Kaminari was running his Quirk through a battery likely increasing how much electricity he could handle before he went stupid.

It looked like way too much for their two homeroom teachers to handle and Rin voiced that to their own teacher before his soul briefly left his body. However, before Vlad could answer, Mr. Aizawa approached them through the chaos of his own class to explain everything to them.

Of course, it was too much for the two teachers to handle so they'd enlisted the help for the 4 Wild, Wild, Pussycats to help them train up the first years. Between their range of powers, skills, and experience they were the perfect team to help them increase their strength and their camp the perfect, secret, secluded place to do it in.

In addition to Mandalay, who let them know that her Quirk was called Telepath and she could use it to give orders to all of them without speaking, and Pixie-Bob who's Earthflow Quirk allowed her to control the earth and create all the perfect environments for them, there was Ragdoll and Tiger. That meant that they were getting the full version of the Wild, Wild, Pussycats today.

Ragdoll was a really hyper green haired woman with a yellow theme to her outfit and a Quirk called Search that allowed her to know everything about anyone within her range including their location and weak points. Tiger on the other hand was the only male, though he wore the same outfit as the others did with a brown theme and was born a woman before transitioning, and he didn't say what his Quirk was only that he was here to beat them to a pulp, which given his bulging muscles wasn't an idle threat.

That worried a few of them, especially the strength-based Quirks like Jurota Shishida as they would be with Tiger. That was shown when he went over to a spot behind them where the last member of Class A, Izuku Midoriya, was working out to a stereo system. Tiger then engaged him in combat, showed that his Quirk could affect his body and make it flexible as he dodged an attack and punched Midoriya into a tree. Midoriya just got up, yelled and went back to it as Tiger encouraged him. That was it, Tiger was way too intense.

Of course, that was the moment when Vlad King told them the plan and began splitting up the class to their respective areas and workouts. It was time for Class B to join Class A in the intense training camp that would last until dinner.

Both Class A and B groaned as they walked into a large area near the facility that they hadn't been to yet. In it was a long row of stoves along the edge of it and other cooking stations to one side with several tables in the middle all loaded with more cooking supplies and produce. At the far end, near the facility, was a table loaded with more fresh food that hadn't yet been cooked.

"As I said yesterday, we aren't cooking for you anymore." Pixie-Bob said with a smile.

"If you want to eat you will have to make your own food, starting with curry." Ragdoll said enthusiastically with even more arm waving than Ida was known for.

"Yes ma'am." The group said as a whole.

"Oh man do you guys look exhausted." Ragdoll added laughing at them which was true given the fact that they'd all be up since the crack of dawn and pushed beyond their limits all day until dusk when they were finally allowed to end. "But that doesn't mean you can coast by making sloppy cat food. You need to be able to train or work and then cook right afterwards if you want to be heroes."

Both classes were currently on autopilot and just mumbled about it. They wanted and needed to eat and if this was how it would be then so be it. However, one of them suddenly got what Ragdoll was saying to them.

"I see, an important part of recovering from a disaster is taking care of someone's physical needs, as well as their mental and spiritual ones." Ida muttered as he realized that this was still part of their training to become heroes and it was something he'd expect from U.A. as this was why it was the best school out there for Hero training. "This is a great opportunity class, let's make the most delicious curry in the world."

Ida punctuated his words with his usual robot chops as he moved to the front of the group to rally them. The rest of the class didn't seem too motivated but they had to do it so they may as well start and give it their all.

It took a moment but soon they were all getting to work based on their respective skills. Todoroki was the main fire starter given his Quirk though Sero tried to get Bakugo to help out which ended poorly as the explosive boy used too much power and blew up part of the cooking station and was regulated to chopping vegitables which was scarily good at. Of course, Momo had her own moment were she failed to remember reality by telling others to do it themselves and not rely on others so that they could learn new skills all the while creating a lighter to start a fire.

"Momo, that is good advice, just don't say it while creating an item that negates it." Marinette said kindly as she squatted next to her friend and held out her hand to create her own fire-starting item glad that thanks to the constant food at training she'd been able to maintain her reserves for Lucky Charm. "Kinda defeats the point of what you are trying to get across."

As if to make it clear to both girls, Lucky Charm created an old school flint fire starter in the casual clothes pattern that Marinette was wearing. Momo just blinked at the French girl a little confused as Marinette used it to spark a light and create a new fire in the station before her, after striking it a few times to get it lit as she wasn't used to using one of these things.

"I don't get it." Momo admitted.

"I know but in time you will." Marinette said patting her friend on the shoulder before getting up and going to another station to provide a spark there.

It took a while, and work from all 44 kids, but in the end they made the curry. It was, for a lack of a better word, terrible as most of them weren't great cooks to begin with and their exhaustion didn't help with the matter, but it was done, and it was food. Now if it had been baking then Marinette would have been in her element but it wasn't so her class would still have to wait to learn about her skills in that department.

"If I got this in a restaurant I'd send this crap right back but after today I'm going to eat every last bite." Kirishima said as he and Sero began wolfing down the food.

They weren't the only ones. Momo had finally reached some point and abandoned her dignity for a moment and was eating as fast as possible, though still much more refined than the two boys next to her were doing. Likewise, Adrien and Marinette were eating fast and as much as they could manage as all of them had pushed their Quirks beyond their limits and needed as much food as possible to make sure that they were good.

"Woah, you're really scarfing it Yao-Momo." Mina said noticing that her refined and dignified friend was not acting that way. "That's like your second bowl already."

"Yes my Quirk transforms lipids into brand new atoms to create inorganic material." Momo said though Marinette still had a few noticeable questions about that aspect of Momo's Quirk and how it related to her assets, but she had given up trying to find an answer to them as they likely defied normal logic. "That means that the more I eat the more I can create."

"Huh, kinda like how poop works." Sero noted from next to her idly.

"Apologize." Jiro said leaping up and punching Sero in the face as Momo crouched away in mix of shame and revulsion at the unfortunately accurate statement.

"Ok I'm sorry." Sero said unsure how this was his fault.

"The guys in this class really redefine density." Marinette said with a sigh.

"Huh?" Adrien asked looking up from his 3rd bowl of food. "I didn't notice anything."

"My point exactly." Marinette said as she went back to her food. "Just keep eating Adrien and don't get involved."

"Ok." Adrien said simply as he went back to his food.

As this was happening, Mandalay called out from inside the facility to Kota who was still outside that it was dinner. He didn't care and turned to leave and go to his special place. The only one who noticed this was Midoriya who got up and took a bowl of the curry with him to follow the boy. It was as he was too leaving that Marinette noticed him go.

"Where's Midoriya going?" Marinette asked.

"Deku left?" Ochaco asked worried looking around for the familiar mop of green hair that always put her at ease.

"Yeah right after Mandalay asked for Kota." Marinette said.

"Then likely he's going to talk to him." Adrien said. "You know how Midoriya is. He did save Kota yesterday when he fell from the wall between the baths and likely learned more about him from Mandalay, so he likely feels like he has some duty to help."

"Yeah but is he the right person?" Marinette asked. "He's already started on the wrong foot with that boy, and I don't think that he's yet mastered how to handle kids."

"Deku is good but yeah I don't think he can understand kids yet, neither can most of us I feel." Ochaco said. "It won't stop him though, that's just who he is."

"I've done some babysitting back in France." Marinette said which was dated but truthful. "I could at least provide some advice for how to handle a kid."

"I think this is different m'lady." Adrien said as he noticed Midoriya walking back to the area looking contemplative though he didn't have the bowl he'd brought with him. "There's something more to Kota than what you've dealt with."

"Perhaps." Marinette said but she would talk to Midoriya if he tried again to find out more, perhaps she could help him get through to Kota, but her gut was telling her that this might be something Midoriya had to do on his own for some reason.

"I hope that was good enough for you." Mandalay said coming out of the building to great the hero students as Izuku returned from his failed attempt to give Kota some food and get through to him thus breaking up any conversations they were having about what was going on. "Tomorrow night we're having nikujaga stew."

"Pork or beef?" Ida asked shooting up from his seat though both Marinette and Adrien were confused by this as they'd never had the traditional dish. "U.A. is in the east where pork is traditional, but beef is popular in the west, so which do you have?"

"Both." Mandalay said with a smile. "You kids get to decide which class gets which."

Well, that wasn't a good thing to say though it was clear that it was deliberate. It instantly sparked chorus of voices from the more vocal proponents of pork and beef respectively and they came from exclusively boys in both classes.

"What's the big deal with all this?" Marinette asked Ochaco as the argument raged. "I don't get it?"

"Nikujaga stew is meat, potatoes, and vegitables stewed in a soy sauce base with a bit of sugar." Ochaco said clearly eager for the food tomorrow. "It's a staple of comfort food here though my family doesn't often have it because the meat can be expensive. I can't wait for it, but I don't care what the meat is."

"Yes but I'm confused on this whole meat thing." Marinette said. "Why is there an argument over it?"

"Aren't there dishes back in France that are the same with one difference depending on where you go, ribbit?" Tsu asked. "I think you said something about the snails when we had them at your place."

"Well yeah there are dishes like that." Marinette admitted. "So, this is like that then? Pork or beef as the meat."

"Pretty much." Ochaco said. "In the east of Japan pork is the traditional base while out west they prefer beef but really it can vary from household to household."

"Ah I see ok that makes sense." Marinette said. "And it looks like this won't be…"

"We had better make up our minds!" Ida suddenly yelled over the din waving his arms wildly like he usually did. "Wouldn't you agree Kendo?"

"Sure thing." Kendo said standing from the Class B girls table to meet Ida's challenge. "How about a round of rock paper scissors between class reps to decide it."

"Works for me." Ida said with a nod at the perfectly reasonable and logical way to handle it. "If there are no objections…"

"I object." Monoma said with a grin as he got to his feet to stop the impending game. "A silly game like this to decide the matter is no fun, we need a more worthy battle for this."

This sparked questions from Kendo as rock paper scissors was a fair and easy way to sort this out but clearly Monoma wanted this to be a head-to-head clash with Class A despite objections. Then, of all people, Reiko Yanagi made the simple point of asking if anyone actually cared which meat they got.

This led to a shift from Monoma as more supported the statement with both Kirishima and Tetsutestu fine regardless of the meat they got to eat as it was all tasty. This clearly took the wind from Monoma's sails but Marinette saw a glint in his eyes that she didn't like.

"This isn't good." Marinette muttered to her table. "Monoma isn't done, he's got one more card to play I'm sure of it."

"Bakugo." Adrien said back simply seeing it as well.

A moment later his prediction was right as Monoma seemed to give up and accepted that Class B should have pork as he didn't like beef if all of Class A were ok with it, and he turned to Bakugo at that moment calling the boy out by name to see if it was ok. Of course, after the Sports Festival where Monoma had managed to actually pull one over Bakugo and the way he'd acted since then was more than enough to set Bakugo off. He wasn't going to let this be decided by Monoma and he declared he wanted pork.

That was all Monoma needed to reignite the competition and Bakugo rose to the manipulation to wage war on Class B for it. Ida and Kirishima tried to calm Bakugo down and remind him not to speak for the whole class, but he ignored them and plowed on regarding who started the fight and how he was going to end it.

At this point Momo tried to get their teacher involved but Mr. Aizawa seemed too bored to care. He simply told them that outside training, what they did with their time was their own thing so long as it didn't cause trouble for their hosts.

Naturally this somehow sparked a lesson for Ida that Aizawa wasn't trying to give but he took anyway and ran with it for everyone. That also meant that Ida took it as a chance for the boys to engage in a friendly rivalry over it and decide it with an arm-wrestling contest.

"I have a feeling that I'm now involved." Adrien said with a sigh. "This is about strength, we'll use me, Sato, Shoji, and Bakugo at least in it either due to strength or the fact that we can't stop Bakugo."

"Well, I for one don't care which meat it is." Marinette said. "But win regardless, Class B started this, Class A will end this."

"Of course, m'lady." Adrien said with a grin. "Just like the Sports Festival."

"Alright and now that that is sorted, it's time to announce that the boys are bathing first." Pixie-Bob said as soon as the contest was decided getting their attention. "After yesterday we are staggering it all with different times for the genders. Tiger is there to sort it out for the boys. Girls, you will wait here and wash up. Tomorrow, we flip it, and you get to bathe first while the boys wash up."

The class as a whole seemed to understand that and the boys helped out by taking their dishes to the washing up area and making sure that the girls didn't have to do to much before they headed to the outdoor baths talking excitedly about the upcoming competition between the classes. It wasn't missed on any of them that Mineta was grinning.

"The little creep is going to do something." Mina growled as the 14 girls gathered to start washing up the dishes, which wouldn't take long between them especially with Shiozaki's Quirk which could do multiple dishes at once while getting needed water for it at the same time. "I just know it. Let the boys be all macho and sort out the meat for tomorrow, I just want to prevent the gremlin from trying something again."

"He tried something yesterday, didn't he?" Kendo asked them.

"Yup, tried to scale the wall, ribbit." Tsu said. "His Quirk is good for that but that was to be expected and Kota was stationed up there to help us out. Now we are staggering it."

"That won't stop him." Marinette said as she worked. "We all know that. He's determined to get a look at us."

"He'll find a new way." Ochaco agreed.

"Then we can stop him." Jiro said. "He can't escape my Quirk."

"Wait and bait him." Marinette said as an idea came to her mind. "Then let me handle it."

"Marinette, are you sure?" Momo asked.

"Yes, Kyoka and I are the best for this, but I want the honors this time." Marinette said smiling at the other girls. "Kyoka had all the fun last time, this time it's my turn."

"True." Jiro said though she didn't mention how self-conscious the gremlin made her feel given what she'd heard before she fully realized that it was Marinette who was volunteering for gremlin extermination duty and grinning. "Ok I complete cede to Marinette on this, I really want to see how see deals with him. it will be good."

"You can sort it out Dupain-Cheng?" Kendo asked.

"I can." Marinette said with a smile. "And I've wanted to test this out for a while on Mineta so it's worth it. We need to wait and plan though; he won't make a move just yet and we aren't bathing for a while. Lull him into a false sense of security, obscure his vision, and play to his perverted mind and we got him."

"Plus, I think he'll change it up." Momo said. "He went after us last time but he's not an idiot when it comes to this, he'll go after your class Kendo. Such a waste of potential. If he focused this lust on something like hero training he could be really good."

"Very true and we are grateful for your help." Kendo said. "None of us have Quirks that can really find a peeper."

"This sinner must be punished and brought into god's loving light." Shiozaki said as she worked. "Can you really do it Dupain-Cheng."

"Do you really need to ask her?" Jiro said. "You saw what Marinette could do in the Sports Festival and that's just a taste of her skills. We've seen her all semester, I've personally been knocked out by her, she's the real deal in the class."

"Yeah, she's up there with Bakugo and Todoroki in the class when it comes to combat and hero work." Mina said. "We all trust Marinette to handle this."

"Thanks girls." Marinette said touched by their support.

"Well, she did humiliate most of our class in the Cavalry Battle." Tokage said with a grin. "So, I guess you can handle this, but we will get even."

"I wasn't one of you, I mean I wasn't, er, facing her." Pony Tsunotori said in her still weak Japanese. "But I aftermath saw, I mean, um…"

"Tsunotori, I do speak English fluently so if you are struggling don't hesitate to go back to your native tongue to ask something." Marinette said switching to her accented English. "I know how hard it can be to learn a new language."

"No, I need to practice, and I love Japan so learning its language is a must." Pony said shaking her head and sticking to Japanese. "But at times, I may need help."

"Most of us can speak English." Momo said in unaccented English. "So don't worry about it."

"Thank you." Pony said with a smile.

"Ok I'm going to ask." Tokage said turning to Marinette though now they were back to speaking Japanese and her eyes glinting in a way that Marinette didn't like. "Why is your accent thicker in English than it is in Japanese. Not that I'm knocking it, it's even sexier with the English."

"Oh, um, well it's probably due to how similar the languages are." Marinette said evasively as she didn't want to tell the truth given how artificial her Japanese was and she was also ignoring Tokage's obvious provocative way of talking. "Same alphabets for the most part though we do have accents on some letters and similar Latin roots in a lot of places, so I focused more on learning it than dealing with my accent. With Japanese, I had to learn it fast and how to properly pronounce it, so my accent is likely weaker there."

"Oh, it's still there." Tokage said. "We all know it, just an observation."

"Well, when you hear her speak her native French it's so different." Mina said bumping Marinette's shoulder with her own. "And cute when she and Agreste do it together, it really is the language of love when they speak it to each other."

"I'm not in France, I should be focused on Japanese." Marinette said as they finished the cleanup. "Anyway, we should get this away and begin preparing for later. This is going to be a full-scale plan were we all have parts to play so let's get to it ladies."

The other girls nodded as they finished cleaning up and began to stack the dishes to take them away. They had to plan for later and dealing with Mineta. It was certainly going to be interesting, and they were going to make sure the pervert was punished. They couldn't wait.

Well, there it is, the first day of training is over and as there really isn't much to address there it is naturally short and a bit of a filler. That just means that the next one, which will be based off 3 chapters in the 2nd School Briefs book and is the first full chapter of this series to draw from the light novel supplements in this series, is going to be longer but that's all I'll say on it (though if you've read the book which I recommend then you will know what is coming). In fact, the whole nikujaga stew thing is from the book though I've not directly copied the scene, more paraphrased and glossed over it. The only other thing I want to mention here and that is Tiger, yes it is canon that he is transgender. He was born a woman who transitioned in Thailand long before his debut in the series and he's the first official LGBT character in MHA to appear followed by Magne. The first unofficial LGBT character though was Himiko Toga as she was at first, in non-canon early notes, listed as bisexual and has made indications that she has feelings for men and women in the series. Other than this there really isn't much more to say about this chapter though the end has set it up nicely for what is to come next time so stay tuned for that as plenty has been teased in this chapter but not everything that is still to come. That is all I have for y'all in this chapter so I will leave it off here. If you like it or have any questions please let me know in reviews or PMs, I will try to answer them as best I could and post any questions asked between uploads at the start of the next chapter and do follow and favorite this, so you are alerted to future uploads. Do keep the reviews coming as I like hearing from y'all as you enjoy my work, it motivates me to keep producing the best work I can for y'all to enjoy. Until next time.
