Here it is, the forty-eighth full chapter of Miraculous Quirks released on the set day and time for the guaranteed weekly one that I promise to deliver unless there are extenuating circumstances preventing me from drafting, editing, and uploading one. Recovering has begun but there are still those who want to help their missing classmate but some believe that a little is insurance is needed so this is the attempt to persuade those people. That's all I will say of course so as to avoid any spoilers. Anyway, that is all the administrative stuff I have for now though and the only thing to say from the reviews is don't worry about Cataclysm as I have plans for its growth just as Lucky Charm as already grown. Do keep the reviews coming as I enjoy hearing from y'all, but that is all I have for y'all right no so I will leave this pre chapter note off here. That means that it is time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the 48th full chapter of Miraculous Quirks.

Chapter 48: Convincing the French

Marinette was woken from her fitful slumber by a groan from beneath her head. Instantly she knew what it was and sat up in the hospital bed rubbing her eyes and rolling her left shoulder to get the feeling back into her now numb arm as she looked down at Adrien. He was waking and she wanted to be the first face he saw when he returned from the gas attack just she was when she woke up before him in the mornings.

"Water." Adrien croaked out as he came to and could feel the dryness in his throat. "Need, water."

"Right, forgot you'd be dehydrated." Marinette said flipping off the bed and hurrying over to the side table by the bed where there was a bottle of fresh spring water and a packet of pain killers laid out for when Adrien woke up. "Here Adrien, take these with it, they will help with the headache."

"Thanks bugaboo." Adrien said as he opened his eyes and smiled at her beautiful face as it filled his vision, he'd always loved waking up like this though he could do without the rather extreme dehydration and splitting headache he was dealing with. "You're the best as always."

"I know." Marinette said smiling back, tears of happiness at seeing him ok in her eyes as Adrien sat up in the bed, opened the water and took the pain killers before popping them in his mouth and downing the bottle as he swallowed them. "Feeling better kitty?"

"Man, that water really hit the spot." Adrien said as Marinette took the bottle from him and put it in the trash can. "The headache should be gone soon, the pain meds these days are really fast acting."

"Hosu?" Marinette asked though she knew from the Sports Festival how fast the pain meds these days were.

"Yeah they gave me some when I got to the hospital." Adrien said missing the tone in Marinette's voice about that subject. "Worked fast and helped me relax though I didn't sleep well that night."

"I bet." Marinette said as she turned and walked back to the bed before hopping up on it and hugging Adrien tightly, her head in his chest.

"Woah, what's this for." Adrien said his strong arms encircling her and pulling her closer. "Not that I'm complaining mind you."

"I'm just glad that you are ok." Marinette said as tears began to fall again. "I was worried."

"Marinette." Adrien said softly as he stroked her hair. "I was going to be fine."

"I know, you wouldn't have done that if you didn't think it was non-lethal, but I was still really worried about you." Marinette said as she began to sob against his chest. "Please Adrien, don't do that again."

"Protect you so you can do what you do best?" Adrien asked. "You are the offense of this unit and with Lucky Charm and your skills you needed to stay conscious."

"Sacrifice yourself for me." Marinette said through her sobs before she switched to French as she needed to talk of the old days though she still couldn't look at him. "Adrien, I can't cure what happens to you like I could before, I don't have that power anymore. It was tied to the magic of the Miraculouses and could only cure damage caused by the magic of one of them like your Cataclysm or an akuma but with our power now our Quirks and part of our DNA it doesn't exist anymore, I can feel that it doesn't. You can't go sacrificing yourself for me like you use to because I can't help you like before."

"Marinette." Adrien said as he finally understood what she was saying and sticking to French for this conversation. "I, I am sorry for that, I wasn't thinking, please forgive me for what I did. We are still getting used to this world and the new society we are in, and I forgot that in the moment. I sensed danger and acted on instinct. I should have just picked you up and ran with you in my arms, next time I will I promise. I defaulted to the old ways and made sure you could get an item to avoid the gas and thus bring those villains to justice."

"I know but you have no idea how worried it made me, how upset I was, how, how angry I began after you went down." Marinette said shuddering at the memory. "I, I couldn't go after that gas villain after what he did to you, I knew I wasn't in the right headspace for it. I got you to safety, ran into Kendo, Tetsutetsu and Kodai as they were all still conscious thanks to some quick thinking from some of them and Momo's Quirk creating some gas masks, but Shiozaki and Honenuki were out. Tetsutetsu wanted to go after the gas villain, so I made sure he knew to take him down and I made sure Kendo went to help."

"Bugaboo." Adrien said but Marinette was letting it all out as she sobbed into his chest amazed she still had tears left after all the crying earlier, so he just let her continue.

"Kodai protected you and the other two until Aizawa got to you and you were taken here after all that, so you were safe." Marinette said. "Mage called in a fellow Guardian, the Guardian of Gas, who helped out which is why I knew that you would be fine, but it still worried me, and I scared myself with the rage I had towards the asshole who did that to you."

"I know." Adrien said rubbing her back. "You did the right thing not going after him and that shows that you still had your wits which was needed in the woods because no one in either class is as experienced as you are m'lady. Was the gas villain brought in at least?"

"Yeah I don't know the details but Kendo and Tetsutetsu took him down." Marinette said. "Kendo was the only one left standing though, she was the one who brought the villain back so that he could be arrested when the authorities arrived. It seems that 9 or 10 villains attacked the camp and 3 were caught including the one who took out the most students."

"That's good, he'll never see the light of day again after an attack like that." Adrien said. "And you, what did you do after that my love? I know you; you would have done what was right."

"I went to help on the frontlines as that was where I was needed." Marinette said nodding against his chest. "Dark Shadow had gone wild, so I went there and learned that the villains were after Bakugo."

"Why?" Adrien asked confused.

"For some reason they felt that they could kidnap him and then turn him into a villain." Marinette said surprising Adrien. "We found that out after subduing Dark Shadow and trying to get Bakugo back. Alas a villain got him and Tokoyami without us noticing. Me, Shoji, Midoriya despite his bad injuries, and Todoroki ran after him when he fled after gloating a bit. The was after running into Ochaco and Tsu and learning of the kidnapping we'd failed to prevent. Midoriya had a plan and we followed it because it was best. I went ahead thanks to Lucky Charm, and they followed using the girls' Quirks and got to the villain."

"But it didn't work." Adrien said having heard the tone in Marinette's voice. "Did it? The villains have them don't they?"

"No, it didn't." Marinette said shaking her head. "We got there, faced more villains and one that had been trying to steal blood from Ochaco when we came across her and Tsu in the woods, she was the villain that I faced, but in the end they got Bakugo. We managed to rescue Tokoyami thanks to a last second Navel Laser from Aoyama that forced the compress villain to release our trapped classmates. Shoji grabbed one that turned out to be Tokoyami, but Todoroki missed the other and this fire villain grabbed Bakugo and took him through a warp gate."

"Oh, and is that where you got this." Adrien said lightly touching the bandage on Marinette's right cheek. "Don't think I don't notice you're hurt as well, and I can smell the copper of the blood staining your shirt, not that I need to given how it's more red than white now. Is it yours?"

"Yes." Marinette admitted pulling away slightly and going red, but Adrien gently cupped her left cheek with his right hand and turned her face to his smiling the smile he knew she loved at her to reassure her. "I got them from the villain chick I fought. She's some really crazy girl armed with a lot of knives. I was able to change Lucky Charm during the time limit at last like I've been practicing and got a metal baton."

"Wait really?" Adrien asked impressed. "You finally managed it then. I knew you could do it bugaboo, you can do anything you set your mind to."

"Yeah it just took the right situation and some desperation to imagine it and it happened which was good as I needed it then." Marinette said with a small smile at Adrien's praise. "I deflected her thrown blades but one I couldn't, so I dodged but it cut my jaw. She has a blood Quirk or fetish and after she saw my blood she had to close on me with a final knife and a syringe to get it. I avoided the knife and destroyed the syringe before almost beating her, but she avoided my finishing blow. That's when I realized the side cut that she'd given me. That little bitch cut the side of my boob."

"It won't scar will it?" Adrien asked. "I like that part of you, well I like all of you, so I want you to be fully ok."

"Shh kitty." Marinette said briefly forgetting things and playfully batting his chest. "But thankfully it will be fine don't worry. It was superficial and when she attacked again I dropped the baton, grabbed her wrist and broke her arm with a twist to disarm her. Then I broke her jaw and knocked her out with an elbow to it and sent her back. Alas that's when the Warp Villain from the USJ appeared and things got worse. One of the villains has a fire Quirk that can create blue flames, he was the one who set fire to the woods."

"Blue flames, that means that they are insanely hot." Adrien said. "Not even Endeavor can create fire that hot."

"Yeah I got a minor burn on my ankles just avoiding it, but I am fine." Marinette said. "And yeah that's basically it. We got you here as soon as possible, I got patched up on the way as I wouldn't leave your side, and you were healed. I was really worried. Please Adrien, be smarter next time. We won't be split up unless it can't be avoided but still, you can't do what you once did because we won't get another chance and I don't want to lose you, not after we've lost everything else already."

"I know and I won't, I'll break the habit and learn, I promise." Adrien said before chuckling. "I think I get what Aizawa meant when our last pairing would be for the final."

"Huh?" Marinette asked a bit confused. "He had a meaning to that?"

"He knows our bond and partnership is unbreakable so rather than break it he's going to strengthen it by getting us to work with others." Adrien said as he pieced together what he thought Aizawa was trying to do. "From that we will learn more and the small mistakes or bad habits that we have as a pair that are now ingrained so deep that we don't notice until they happen will be broken. I likely wouldn't have done what I did in the woods if I was with anyone else other than maybe Yaoyorozu because of her Quirk but because it was you I did it."

"Oh, I see." Marinette said getting it and nodding at the wisdom in their teacher's decision. "And I wouldn't have almost lost myself to anger if it was anyone else who did that, I would have just gotten them to safety and then gone after the gas villain without anything clouding my judgement. That does make sense. We should use what Aizawa is doing to make our own partnership stronger."

"Exactly." Adrien said leaning down. "And it will strengthen our love m'lady as it strengthens everything else about us."

"That it will kitty." Marinette said smiling as she lent up and let him capture his lips with hers as her arms moved to around his neck.

Almost at once they deepened the kiss and were locked in a passionate and much needed embrace on the bed. After all that they'd been through they needed this reaffirmation of their love for one another and their commitment to get stronger and it was quickly heating up.

Before long Marinette had shifted so that she was now straddling Adrien, her lips never leaving his, as she moved her hands to cup his cheeks. She felt his hands move to her hips and then sides pushing her shirt up slowly. Thank the Guardians that Mage had had the forethought to get Adrien a private hospital room with a lock on the door, one that Marinette unfortunately forgot to lock.

"Oh my." A startled female voice said from behind them just as Adrien was about to take Marinette's top off. "I am so, so, sorry for disturbing you but we really need to talk to you two."

Almost instantly the moment was ruined and both Adrien and Marinette's eyes went wide to look at each other before they separated, a strand of saliva connecting them briefly before it too snapped. All Adrien could do was fall back in the bed his face bright read as Marinette turned, still on Adrien's lap as he would be in a rather embarrassing situation if she left given what she was feeling there, to see who'd disturbed them and went redder than her hero costume at the sight.

Standing there, both in deep bows of apology and looking at the floor though Marinette could tell that they were as red as she and Adrien were, were Momo and Midoriya, two of the possibly most innocent members of their class. They seemed to have been discharged and were in casual clothes, a nice pink dress and black tights for Momo that was as classy as ever, and an unzipped, short sleeved teal hoodie with a white shirt and dark pants with extensive bandages on his arms from wrists to likely shoulders for Midoriya.

Seeing as they were still in their bows and things were getting extremely awkward Marinette leapt off Adrien and all the grace of an embarrassed teen that had been caught in the act, flipped sideways and spectacularly faceplanted into the floor like old times. Adrien meanwhile sat right up and made sure that nothing embarrassing going on downstairs could be seen.

"Um Marinette, are you ok?" Momo asked still in her bow though she had heard the crash and knew it had to be Marinette.

"Yeah don't worry about it." Marinette said getting up and rubbing her head, but it was just a small sting. "I'm used to it and enhanced constitution remember, a fall like that is nothing to me."

"Right, well, um sorry." Momo said. "The door was unlocked, and we do need to talk to both of you, so we came in hoping that Agreste was up and that you were able to leave if we could persuade you to join us."

"I can, I've been healed and discharged but Adrien only just woke up about 10 minutes ago, so he hasn't been discharged." Marinette said. "And um it's ok to look up. I am the one who should be bowing not you as I didn't lock the door and, er, lost myself in the moment."

And that is what Marinette did, matching her friends' bows for depth as they stood up while Adrien just bowed his head as he still couldn't leave the bed. After a moment Marinette rose and looked at the other two. Midoriya, being the rather innocent boy that he was, was looking anywhere but at them still flushed pink while Momo, likewise surprisingly innocent and pure, was looking awkward, shameful, and concerned.

"No, it's ok seriously." Izuku said though he didn't have the strength to do his usual actions and Marinette was surprised he was able to leave the hospital with all those bandages as he had one on his head and cheek, as did Momo on her forehead. "It's our fault for not knocking."

"Yes it is, um, a reasonable action for you to do that with the man you love when he wakes up." Momo said as the memory of Marinette's admission in the slumber party came back to her and she realized just how close she and Midoriya had come to seeing, well, that, and going red again. "We should have knocked but there is a bit of a time situation, and we need to move soon if you can join us."

"Well, whatever it is I think I'm going to have to be counted out." Adrien said trying to sound nonchalant and move the conversation along. "I just recovered from a gassing; I think the doctors here will want to evaluate me some more."

"Right, that is true." Momo said. "A shame as if we do this then we really could use your stealth skills and senses, Midoriya informed me of their extend on the way here, but if not then I hope Marinette can come at least. We wanted to try and get both of you, but I can understand Agreste not able to make it."

"What do you want me to come with you for?" Marinette asked. "I really don't want to leave Adrien's side. I was very worried when he went down and now he's back, so this had better be really good for me to come along."

"It is." Izuku said. "We, and by we I mean Yaoyorozu, Todoroki, Kirishima, and myself, are going to go and rescue Kacchan from the villains. Yaoyorozu has a way to find where they have him, at least that's what we believe, and so we're going to do what we failed to do in the forest."

"You are going to rescue Bakugo?" Marinette asked. "That doesn't sound like a good idea. We are still students; this is something for the pros."

"Yeah Midoriya, are you sure?" Adrien asked a serious tone in his voice that got Marinette's attention. "We got amnesty for Hosu because of the promise we showed, the way it could be swept under the rug, and our own naivety, but it won't fly again."

"Come again?" Marinette asked as Momo looked confused at the whole. "Amnesty? Adrien, what really happened in Hosu? I think it's time you told me and screw why you can't."

Adrien just looked at Midoriya and he nodded back. It was clear that the other boy had a plan and that it wasn't going to be like Hosu but to assuage Adrien they'd have to be a bit clearer about what happened there even though they weren't supposed.

"Fine but you can't say anything to anyone about this, and I mean anything to anyone." Adrien said in a tone Marinette had never heard before. "It could have real world, legal, consequences for myself, Midoriya, Ida, and Todoroki as we did break the law when we were there."

"Oh, my well I won't say." Momo said her hand over her mouth. "So long as this is proper."

"It is, it was sanctioned by the Hosu Chief of Police." Izuku said. "But as Agreste said, don't speak of this. We don't speak of it, and we were part of it."

"You know you can trust me Adrien." Marinette said. "So, spill, what really happened with Stain."

"Basically, what you've already deduced without me telling you." Adrien said with a shrug. "I faced him in a one-on-one duel and was the one who did the most damage that led to his defeat and capture. Ida, well his part is his part, so I'll leave it at that, had found Stain about to kill Native and fought him but lost easily. Midoriya showed up as he was passing through Hosu at the time on the bullet train when it was hit by a Nomu and when he went to help he learned Ida was missing and deduced where he was and how to find Stain in the back alleys."

"I was just in time." Izuku said taking over the story. "I punched Stain away and fought him briefly but not before sending my location out as that was all I could think to do and was doing it with my phone behind my back so that Stain didn't notice. I got another blow in before he got my blood and I realized how his Quirk worked when he paralyzed me. He deemed me worthy of living and went back to try and kill the other two when again Ida and Native were saved this time by Todoroki and his fire. He engaged Stain for a bit and got me to safety behind him."

"But even with Todoroki it wasn't enough." Adrien said. "I too was in Hosu thanks to a tip to Mage and I went to the alleyway after getting the location in time to see Todoroki get injured and make a mistake with his ice blocking Stain from view."

"Ok Todoroki really needs to stop doing that." Marinette said thinking back to the times he'd done that in the past including how it cost them a chance at rescuing Bakugo by allowing that villain to use sleight of hand to hide the marbles. "But go on."

"Right, Todoroki's injuries and mistake meant that Stain had a chance at Native." Adrien said. "Midoriya had recovered already and began to figure out Stain's Quirk but before he could act I was there and forced Stain away by intercepting him in the air and throwing him. From there were figured out his Quirk worked on blood type and that was why he had the sword and other blades. From there I took charge and had Midoriya, and Todoroki get Ida and Native to safety while using ice to seal me in with Stain to hold him off."

"That is so you and this is what we just discussed." Marinette said glaring briefly at Adrien. "But given the facts it was the right decision. You had the numbers to get the wounded to safety while the best and most suited fighter remained to deal with Stain and hold him off long enough for the still able fighters in Todoroki and Midoriya to return. I presume you were using your baton and fencing skills at the start to keep Cataclysm hidden until the right moment."

"Bingo." Adrien said with a grin while Midoriya was amazed at how Dupain-Cheng had deduced everything so quickly and accurately, she was really good at this and her bond with Agreste showed how well they knew each other if she could figure out what he did in the alleyway like that, they were a formidable team for sure. "I face him in a duel, and I could match his speed and sword, so he tried to change things up on me. That was when I revealed Cataclysm and destroyed his katana, several other blades, and some of his clothes. I also learned that he'd had contact with the League of Villains then."

"Ok that explains the appearance in the video, I knew it was Cataclysm but now you finally confirm it." Marinette said. "And the rest?"

"With limited weapons Stain was easier to face so I ended up using my staff's length feature to deflect a knife and then hit him in the face to stun him." Adrien said. "Followed by a kick to his ribs that broke them and pierced a lung which brought him down in the end, but we didn't know that at the time as I was just trying to defeat him. That blow threw Stain back and into the ice which I believed was the end."

"So, you let your guard down, not like that's the first time you've done that." Marinette said again glaring at him and to the others showing the training the pair had done in France if this was a common mistake for Agreste to make that Marinette could deduce it so easily. "And a monster like Stain would capitalize on that."

"Yup he had many hidden blades and threw two at me, how I was injured is true just the circumstances around it are classified." Adrien said. "And he followed it up with a feint that I leapt away from. In reality he was after my blood and licked it to from the ground to paralyze me. I thought I was done for then because I didn't know where the others were, but Stain called me worthy of being a true hero and let me live."

"You, we'll talk about that later when we get back home." Marinette said holding in the mix of emotions at Adrien being almost killed by Stain or at least at his mercy before turning to Midoriya. "I assume that you and Todoroki returned then to save Adrien's fine ass and that the burns we saw are from him not his father."

"Correct, Ida had recovered and was guarding Native, so we returned, and Todoroki took us to the top of the ice." Izuku said. "He then blasted Stain in the face with fire to stun him before I punched him to knock him out, but I used more power then I could handle and broke my hand in the process. After that we restrained Stain and left the alley where the heroes found us. Mage, Agreste's supervisor, called in a colleague, the Blood Guardian, who healed Agreste of his paralysis and the injures that were bleeding before leaving to help in local hospitals. After that, well you've seen the video."

"Yes and this clears everything up." Marinette said. "I take it the amnesty was from the chief of police because you used your Quirks illegally there and they didn't want to ruin your lives given how well you did, so they concocted the Endeavor story as cover."

"Yes and we couldn't speak of it." Adrien said. "And now you two can't as well so this will be the last time we discuss this. That whole ordeal, well it's how we all bonded."

"Hard not to after that." Marinette said before turning to Momo. "Very well, I am satisfied with that being cleared up at last. Now Momo, what is this plan and why are you going along with it?"

"The plan came when Todoroki and Kirishima came to the hospital to see Midoriya, but he wasn't allowed visitors." Momo said. "But they did see me, well they were outside and overheard All Might and a detective friend of his talking to me about what I did before I passed out from a head wound at the camp."

"What did you do?" Marinette asked.

"I made a tracker chip." Momo said. "It was when the Nomu we ran into that was chasing Awase and me with all its weird weapons suddenly stopped as it was about to kill us, turned, and left. I saw the opportunity of the situation, so I made the chip and had Awase use his Weld Quirk to fuse the tracker to the Nomu's back. It was only possible because I was with Awase so I had to do what I could to bring the villains to justice."

"Clever and good spur of the moment decision." Marinette said smiling at her friend. "You've grown and learned a lot since the Sports Festival Momo."

"Thank you." Momo said with a light flush. "It's because of people like you Marinette, and Todoroki and Midoriya, who have shown how to improve and how different the field is. That was something that I'd realized was a possibility once Awase explained his Quirk as he was helping me to safety as he used it on us so that he could carry me but until then we didn't have an opening. I took that opening the moment it presented itself and made the chip with the last of my strength, but it worked. That tracker has a corresponding device I can make, and I gave it to All Might and a detective friend of his but those two heard. They want me to make another one to find Bakugo."

"As for me, they explained this when they came to see me with the class." Izuku said. "It was after I'd been allowed visitors after my casts were off. My arms, they're really weak now but I agree with Kirishima and Todoroki, we need to rescue Kacchan. I'm going to do so because it's what a hero would do and because he's my friend, but we can't without Yaoyorozu. She's the key to this."

"I am not comfortable with this as this is something that we should leave it to the pros." Momo admitted. "But I trust Todoroki's judgement and the plan is to rescue with no fighting, so we won't be breaking the law. However, with all this, I knew that if we are to succeed and avoid combat that we'd need you two to join us for insurance."

"Can't." Adrien said. "Remember I just woke up; they won't discharge me yet. They'll want to run some tests and as it is already pretty late I think they'll keep me overnight for observation."

"I know which is a shame but if it is just one of you then it is still good." Momo said looking at Marinette. "Please Marinette, join us in rescuing Bakugo."

"Before I give an answer." Marinette said giving both of her classmates a hard look. "Explain why you need me for this. Why should I come and rescue Bakugo when the pros seem to have this safely in hand it seems? Right now, I should be by Adrien's side as he recovers. If I was a fully licensed hero then it wouldn't be a question whether or not I joined, I'd be there with you but I'm not and as Adrien pointed out, he and Midoriya got amnesty for doing something like this. I get that no combat will happen but that can't be guaranteed, and you know it. No plan survives first contact."

"I was the one who wanted you and Agreste to come so I'll say why." Momo said. "Marinette, we need you because of who you are. You must have realized this by now but with the girls you are the best of us, our leader and our inspiration whether you want that or not. You're head and shoulders better than the rest of us, probably combined we couldn't take you down at our current level given how good you are but that's not all. No, I believe that you're more than the best girl, you are, at least in my opinion, the best in the whole course."

"Wait really?" Marinette asked confused and surprised by that. "I get it with the girls, I've realized that myself and while it wasn't my intention it is what I was like back in France and frankly I like it, so I'll always be there to look out for you lot but the whole class? I lost to Todoroki in the Sports Festival remember and we all know how good Bakugo is and Midoriya is improving the fastest and his whole attitude and drive is an inspiration to all of us."

"I may be, but I am nowhere near where I should be." Izuku said. "I still have a lot to go before I can be like All Might."

"Midoriya is right, but he is one of the best as well." Momo said. "But you Marinette, you are the full package as far as I am concerned. You are the best because you are all rounded. Sure, Todoroki is probably more powerful though that loss of yours could have been a win if things went slightly differently but Todoroki isn't a natural leader like you and in my final with him he showed that he isn't the greatest planner, but he knew that and defaulted to me when he realized it because he trusted m. As for Bakugo, sure he's strong but his personality makes him a lone wolf with only a few able to follow him like Kirishima. You have no such restrictions Marinette."

"She's not wrong m'lady." Adrien said. "I've told you as much and more over the years. You're kind, selfless, thoughtful, everything and that's why people follow you. The fact that you can back it up with your power and skills is only icing on the cake."

"Please Marinette, we could really use you in this mission." Momo said. "You have the experience we need. I know that in France and Europe in general they start earlier which is how you got that experience, and you know how to use it. You can make the snap decisions on the battlefield like a pro can despite what is going on around you and you are strong with or without your Quirk."

"There are reasons for that, but you already know them." Marinette said referring to her cover story of Quirk Marriages.

"Dupain-Cheng, it's not just the girls who see this, I saw it first hand as well." Izuku said speaking up for the first time in a bit. "It's both of you and I've seen it now. I saw it in Agreste in Hosu and in you in the forest. You handled yourself like a seasoned pro despite clearly being concerned for Agreste and unable to lead then but Kacchan is my friend and responsibility and you helped without question and did a great job. I saw how you fought that girl; you were in control the entire time and easily beat her. You have field experience and know what it's like, both of you do, so we could use your help to get Kacchan back."

"Francois Dupont second years, so the year before we came here, can go into the field with a supervising hero though we can't fight." Marinette said to explain away her skills and Momo nodded at that as she'd read about it before when looking into Marinette and Agreste's former school after they showed just how good they were at the start of the year. "I just used that in the forest. You were the right person to plan there because you know Bakugo and because I wasn't mentally able at the time given what happened to Adrien. I just did what I could to help bring the villains to justice even if we failed."

"Which is one of the reasons why we have to try now." Izuku said. "I failed to protect Kacchan, I should be one of the ones to get him back."

"I promise we won't fight." Momo said. "It is why I am going, to be their backup and prevent them and it is why I want you. Agreste would have been useful with his stealth skills being what they are, but you are useful for restraint. You are the only one with the strength, speed, and skill to do that should Todoroki need it what with Midoriya's injuries and your experience is something the rest of us don't have but we can lean on it."

"M'lady, I…" Adrien began before Marinette put a hand over his mouth.

"I know you don't want me to go kitty and frankly I don't either because I'd rather be here." Marinette said looking at Momo and Midoriya. "But it is a hero's duty to interfere where not needed and I did fail to protected Bakugo personally which I feel responsible for. Plus, they have made a convincing case for why I am needed there. Unlike you in Hosu, I'll go with them and make sure they do it by the book. I can ensure that they don't fight."

"Alright, I know I can't stop you but be careful Marinette." Adrien said as she lowered her hand. "And keep me in the loop."

"I will be, and I will not fight." Marinette said. "The moment fighting might happen I'm stopping this and pulling everyone back even if I have to knock them out to do so, I can do that without a Quirk so it's not illegal in that sense."

"Thank you Marinette." Momo said with a smile.

"Don't thank me just yet." Marinette said. "I'm doing this for our classmate and to make sure that the boys aren't idiots. That said, um, I could use something from you first Momo."

"Of course, what?" Momo asked glad that Marinette was helping them, with her Momo was much more at ease.

"Er, new clothes as I don't have access to a change of them." Marinette said gesturing at herself. "I am sure you still recall how to make a top for me, and I can give you my pants size."

"Oh yeah that does make sense." Momo said noticing that Marinette hadn't changed since the woods and that her white top was now almost all red from her own dried blood and her jeans had some stains on them as well. "On sec. Midoriya, wait for us outside."

"Right." Izuku said understanding as he left the room so that Momo could get to work glad that they'd managed to convince at least Dupain-Cheng to join as she'd be really useful on this mission.

Todoroki and Kirishima stood outside the hospital entrance as night set in wondering if Yaoyorozu would come. They wanted to rescue Bakugo, but they knew that they couldn't unless they had her. The rest of the class that they'd told, so everyone but Jiro, Hagakure, Agreste, and Dupain-Cheng, had been against their plan. Midoriya had seemed to not mind but he was likely too injured to help. However, all that didn't matter because they only needed Yaoyorozu to pull it off.

At the same time, they knew that it was up to her and if she didn't want to do it then they'd have to call it off. They didn't want to, but they knew that if Yaoyorozu wouldn't help they couldn't force her, she had to help on her own accord. Seeing as she hadn't left the hospital, yet it was a good sign in a sense.

As they were discussing it the door opened up and they say Yaoyorozu leaving, a look of determination on her face. That was good but as Kirishima was a bout to speak he let out a slight gasp as Yaoyorozu looked to either side of her. On her right was Midoriya somehow able to leave the hospital and on her left, a complete shock to them as she hadn't even been part of any discussions which meant that Yaoyorozu had personally recruited her, was Dupain-Cheng in a simple light pink t-shirt and jeans. That needed some answers.

"Midoriya." Todoroki said. "Dupain-Cheng, what are you doing here?"

"Midoriya is obvious." Marinette said. "As for me, Momo persuaded me that my abilities will be needed but I'm here as insurance to make sure you lot stay in the bounds of the law."

"So how about it?" Kirishima asked Yaoyorozu understanding Dupain-Cheng's decision and seeing the need for her, she was one of the best they could have asked for. "You decide?"

"I think that…" Momo began ready to give her justification for joining them.

"Hold on." A new voice said from behind the boys, and they all turned to see Ida standing there looking upset and angry at them.

"Ida." Kirishima said with a note of resignation in his voice.

"Why are you here?" Izuku asked though he had a good feeling that he knew the answer.

"You, why did it have to be you two of all people. "Ida said clearly frustrated and angry at them, and Marinette instantly knew that the two he was referring to were Todoroki and Midoriya which meant that there was only one even he could be referencing. "Two of the three who stopped me when I acted recklessly. Who received amnesty with me and Agreste after Hosu. Why are you trying to make the same stupid mistakes I made and dragging Dupain-Cheng into all this as well, if Agreste was here I'm sure that he'd tell you not to. Didn't you learn?"

"What are you talking about?" Kirishima asked a bit confused as he was the only one who didn't know what they were talking about, but Todoroki put a hand on his shoulder to stop him.

"Adrien did try but he can't do much at the moment as he only just woke up." Marinette said to Ida. "He told me what happened when they came to get us for this, so I know and I'm only here to prevent that."

"That doesn't matter." Ida said angrily. "We're still just students and U.A. is in a bad position as it is. Anything we do will reflect on our school."

"Ida." Izuku began as he walked forward. "We have to. I know you don't like us breaking rules but…"

He didn't get to finish as Ida stepped forward to close the gap and slugged Izuku in the face with his right fist as he let all his anger and frustration out. It was the only thing he could think to do to stop Midoriya, shut him, and hopefully get him to see reason. The act though shocked everyone present as they hadn't expected it from Ida.

"I'm frustrated too." Ida said angrily as he began to shout at them. "And concerned too obviously. I'm the class rep damnit, I'm worried about all my classmates, not just Bakugo. When I saw your injuries all I could think of was my brother in the hospital. What if your bodies end up irreparable just like his because I didn't step in? Have not stopped to think of where I'm coming from?"

As he finished Ida grabbed Midoriya's shoulders, the boy had been unresponsive after the punch, so he needed to get Midoriya to look at him so that he could understand where Ida was coming from. The others were just shocked at Ida for all of it, but they all knew that he made a lot of good points.

"Or are you saying that you don't care how I feel?" Ida asked. "That all we went through in Hosu doesn't matter anymore?"

"Of course, I do." Izuku said from where he was in a soft voice. "I thought about Hosu and how this can be different."

"Ida, you've got it wrong." Todoroki said stepping forward. "We don't expect to face the villains head on and win, this isn't like with Stain. We'll get him back without fighting."

"Yeah we'll be stealthy, I'm talking covert ops here." Kirishima said. "We can rescue him without breaking the rules."

"I trust in Todoroki's judgement but still things could always go wrong." Momo said. "So, I'm joining you as back up. I'll stand behind my classmates. That is why I went to Marinette and Agreste to try and get them to join us as they'd understand it better. We need their experience and skills now more than ever to make sure that we do this right. They are the best in the class but…"

"Adrien just woke up and it seems that Toru and Kyoka haven't which means that it's his enhanced constitution working but regardless he can't leave until the doctors discharge him." Marinette said. "I don't want to be here or go but Momo's right, you need backup and who better than me for that. I know the real world thanks to the French system, and I have the strength and skills to stop you so I can ensure they follow the rules. Together we can get Bakugo back without fighting."

"Oh, that explains it more, good thinking Yaoyorozu." Kirishima said. "Agreste would have been really useful too seeing as he can be as stealthy as a cat when he wants to be, but I understand why he can't come. You guys are the best."

"You can't be serious?" Ida asked stunned by all this and with Yaoyorozu on board they had what they needed to pull off the mission.

"I know I'm hurt." Izuku said quietly but loud enough for all to hear. "But if I can still move at all I can't just sit still, I have to reach out and do something cos all I can think about is saving him."

With that Izuku stood up tall and proud and they all looked at him. They all knew how strong Midoriya was, Todoroki and Ida especially given their experiences with him, but the others as well to a lesser extent but this really showed it. It would have a profound impact on all of them going forward in dire times. For Marinette though, for the first time she truly saw why All Might decide that Izuku Midoriya was the best person to succeed him.

"I'll never agree." Ida said after a moment before pausing. "So, I'm going to come with you."

That got a bunch of gasps and shocked looks from the other 5. That was the last thing they had expected. They had expected Ida to keep fighting to stop them, not agree to join them despite disagreeing with their actions. However, he had and with that there was nothing impeding them from starting off on their mission.

"Midoriya." Ida said as they began to walk off. "I shouldn't have hit you back there, I'm sorry. Forgive me."

With that Ida bent forward in a shallow bow of apology. It was what was expected of Ida and a nice gesture of remorse for his brief lapse of control when he first confronted his classmates.

"I have some concerns Ida." Momo said finally speaking what she'd been thinking on since Ida's change. "What is your justification for changing your mind and joining us?"

"It's fine, you don't need to apologize." Izuku said a little flustered.

"To be clear, I'm coming because I don't condone your behavior it's as simply as that." Ida said turning to Yaoyorozu and ignoring Midoriya because he did need to apologize for punching him. "If there's even a hint that physical combat might break out I'll make you retreat immediately. So, in other words, I'm your watchman."

Ida finished it by pointing in Izuku's face and glaring at him. It was to be expected from him though and it did explain why he'd changed his mind, plus it added another sensible person to keep the trio of Midoriya, Todoroki, and Kirishima in check during this mission.

"Exactly what we needed." Todoroki said though it did seem a bit much to him with 3 on their case but given the power levels present it certainly didn't hurt to have Dupain-Cheng keeping an eye on them as she was his equal in skill and strength.

"The same goes for me." Momo said as she reached into a pocket on her skirt that seemed deep, and Marinette couldn't help but be jealous of. "Rescuing Bakugo is a job for the pros. Objectively speaking there is no reason for any of us to go after him. However, I understand how each of you feels so I'm compromising. Don't forget that."

"Right." Todoroki said as Momo pulled a new tracker out of her pocket that would have the location of the chip she'd made on it.

"Understood." Kirishima said with a nod.

"Ditto what those two said." Marinette added. "I should be with Adrien right now making sure he's ok but you three need chaperones for this so here I am to ensure it by force if I have to."

At this the boys turned and began walking away heading to a train station as they all at least assumed that they would need to be on one. Only Momo hesitated though Marinette noticed and held back as well.

"What's your concern?" Marinette whispered in French to her friend as they set off behind the boys using her native tongue as there was no way they could be understood if the others over heard them. "You've clearly got something on her mind."

"It's the fact that this situation seems so difficult to me and that their plan is unrealistic." Momo whispered back in her still improving but certainly proficient French glad to be able to voice her concerns with someone else who could be objective while also working on her 6th language with a native speaker. "They are all blinded by frustration at not protecting Bakugo at first and their friendship for him, or in Ida's case his concern, so they don't see the full picture. I mean, a rescue without fighting? It seems impossible."

"They are frustrated true, but it might not be blinding them." Marinette said back thinking on the situation and team they had. "We have Midoriya, he's a very good planner and he understands Bakugo in ways no one else can because of their history. Kirishima too understands him more than us seeing as he's been able to actually forge a friendship with him when no one else could. With the 6 of us I am sure that we can pull it off. If anyone can rescue a classmate without fighting it's us."

"I am glad to see that you are at least confident in this." Momo said drawing from Marinette's strength and calm to give herself some confidence in them, she really was good at that which was just one of the many reasons why the girls all say Marinette as their leader. "Bringing you was something we needed, you alone can probably see this for more than it is."

"Possibly but don't put so much in just me, trust all of us." Marinette warned Momo. "We are a team, and we can do this."

"Right then let's catch up to the boys and get moving." Momo said. "I know where to go and what we need to do. We have some time so we should start planning right away."

With that the girls hurried to catch up to the boys and Momo directed them to the train station as they needed to catch one to get to where she believed Bakugo to be. As they set off to rescue Bakugo they all believed that after the USJ, Hosu for those present there, the forest, and for Marinette her experiences with Hawk Moth, that they all believed that they'd seen true evil. Little did any of them know that an evil was on the horizon the likes of which none of them, not even Marinette, had ever seen before.

Well, there it is, a long, emotional, chapter as we get Marinette and Adrien's chat when Adrien wakes up, a realization of where they can improve, a ruined moment, the story of Hosu for Marinette at last, convincing her to join them in rescuing Bakugo from the League, and of course the moment with Ida and going off to rescue Bakugo. For anyone wondering, Awase actually develops a crush on Momo from saving her in the woods and it is one of 3 confirmed canon crushes in the hero course so it will be canon here though how I use it I don't know. Other than that, there really isn't much more to say here as this chapter is pretty straightforward. Next up is the rescue operation so stay tuned for that but for now it is time to end this chapter.
