Here it is, the fifty-first full chapter of Miraculous Quirks released early because of I am still ahead in my drafting of this story and there should hopefully be one more before the normal update day if things go according to plan. This is a typical transition and filler chapter that has happened before though might not again for a while given the changes coming. However, that is all the administrative stuff I have for now and as there are no review questions to answer or guest reviews to respond to I will end this note here. Do keep the reviews coming as I enjoy hearing from y'all. Now, though, it is time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the 51st full chapter of Miraculous Quirks.

Disclaimer: I do not own either of these great works of fiction.

Chapter 51: Aftermath of Kamino

After the fight ended, Marinette, Todoroki and Momo met up with the others and they took Bakugo to the police to give his statement while the heroes cleaned up, searched for survivors, and All Might was seen to. They changed back into their normal clothes before they did though Ida still had the moustache thing on and Marinette, well she looked rather odd in her pink shirt, jeans, pigtails, and gothic get up though she'd removed the piercings she didn't want and need anymore to let the holes close. The entire time Bakugo didn't say a word which was unusual but there was nothing they could do about it.

With that done they'd finally gone home. Marinette had been able to go straight to the place she was living in Tokyo because Adrien had been released that morning while they were taking Bakugo to the station, so she went that way from Kamino Ward where she bid the others farewell. It had taken a little over an hour to get back and naturally they had an enthusiastic reunion in the living room when she arrived to find him there. That was swiftly broken up by a cough.

"As touching as this moment is." Mage said from the kitchen island where he was having a full and hearty English breakfast and looking at them as they broke apart, his tone becoming serious. "There is the little matter of Marinette's involvement in this little escapade to deal with seeing as you did break the rules by going to Kamino Ward"

"Um…" Marinette said.

"Don't try to hide it, I have read the reports of Bakugo's rescue, I know that Lucky Charm was used." Mage said. "It's kinda hard not to know when there's a report of a strange black and silver ball that encased the rescue team, protected them, and yet there is no trace of it. Most heroes are a bit confused, but I know that it was Marinette who created it. Well that and the fact that you still have the makeup and temporary tattoos on."

"Yeah I'm going to remove it all when I can." Marinette said realizing that there was no way in denying her actions at this point. "I just, you know, wanted to see Adrien right away seeing as he is out of the hospital now."

"That is on you to do but right now I'm going to have to actually be your legal guardian for this." Mage said. "You weren't told by me not to go there, and you didn't actually engage in combat like Adrien did with Stain so that is a plus and I didn't punish him back then though that was mainly because I sanctioned it."

"No, I only went to make sure that Midoriya, Todoroki and Kirishima didn't do that." Marinette said. "And to provide aid with my abilities when they were needed."

"That I do not doubt." Mage said. "However, you still put yourself at risk Marinette and that's not good, especially given how All for One showed up in the end. So, for the next week while you recover and recuperate, and I deal with both the plans at U.A. to change things up and contact some people about Shigaraki and his associates in case they leave the country, you two will not be allowed to share a bed or be in each other's rooms. Adrien, this is also because I know that you were aware of what happened, Marinette wouldn't have gone otherwise, so you are both facing this punishment of sorts."

"We understand and sorry for worrying you." Marinette said and Adrien nodded.

"Oh, I wasn't worried, I knew you'd do it, I just have to actually set some kinda boundaries for you two." Mage said with a grin. "And before you ask, yes I've already enchanted the rooms to only allow the owner of them in, so you won't be successful in anything sneaky. Now go and change before we enjoy a good breakfast and you tell Adrien and me everything that happened, I could use a good story before the clusterfuck that I'm about to walk into."

Marinette and Adrien just nodded and accepted their punishments before Marinette went to her room. She wasn't too tired, she'd slept for a while on Adrien during the day before, but she needed to sort the last things out like wash her face, remove the black nail polish, and change into her usual attire. Then she'd have breakfast and tell them everything that happened in Kamino.

It was a few days later when everything had died down and the nation had begun to adapt to the changes in the wake of the Kamino Ward incident as it began to heal from what had happened. For Adrien and Marinette those days had been spent in the apartment relaxing, catching up on personal projects, having fun with the kwamis, and training in the residential gym in the building on the floor below them to keep up with what they'd started at the training camp the week before.

They were also in contact with their classmates now that everyone was all healed up, but most were in similar situations, they couldn't leave their houses. For most it was due to the whole attack on the training camp, so their parents were being safe bit for others it was just to enjoy the remainder of the summer break before returning to school. However, there was a big change coming that Adrien and Marinette were aware of, but they hadn't talked about it until now as Mage finally had the time to talk with them.

As with their last few talks it was going to take place at the island in the kitchen and over a meal, breakfast this time, before Mage went down to the Guardian Agency to do some work and then head to U.A. for the afternoon. Breakfast though was with them, and they walked in a little tired from sleeping on their own but as they would learn they would have to get used to that dynamic given what was coming.

"Morning my charges." Mage said as he put down his copy of the local paper and took a sip of his classic Earl Gray English tea that he was drinking out of a classic tea cup. "Sleep well?"

"Better now that our sleep schedules are back on track." Marinette said, she was still in her pajamas though while Adrien was just in his U.A. PE pants and a white t-shirt. "Though it has been a while since I slept so much in my own bed."

"Well, it's only for a bit in this place at least." Mage said as they sat down, and their breakfasts appeared before them. "And how is the cut? Fully healed?"

"Yes it is though I still have a bandage on my side just in case, today is the last day I need to have it on and then I can be free of it." Marinette said as her breakfast of two croissants, jam, some fresh bread and a pain au chocolate with a café au lait on the side appeared, she was a baker's daughter after all so fresh pastries were traditional for her for breakfast. "It won't scar which is good."

"That is good news." Mage said as he set to work on his usual larger breakfast than them that consisted of, well, French Toast drenched in syrup and cinnamon powder with fresh fruit on it and surrounded by a few rashes of bacon, sausages, tomatoes, and a few hard-boiled eggs on the side. "And Adrien is fully healed up so you're both good to go when the training resumes."

"Yes." Adrien said as his own selection of toast, a few different spreads, cold meats and soft French bread appeared with fresh orange juice to wash it all down. "But, um, what's with the French Toast?"

"This isn't French Toast, that's the American stuff, this is proper Eggy Bread done the British way." Mage said as he cut off a good portion of it, added some bacon and enjoyed it. "Can't be beat by an American knock off, well except at a true roadside diner but that's only because that's an American original that nowhere else can replicate."

"Alright I'll leave it at that." Adrien said beginning his own bread. "Anyway, what do you have for us? This is the catchup you wanted so there has to be something important to deal with."

"Right first off the update post Kamino." Mage said getting down to business. "First off the big and obvious news, All Might has retired from hero work. The official reason is that the injury he sustained 5 years ago from All for One has caught up to him as it had sapped his strength leaving him with that skeletal form, but the real reason is that the transfer is complete, the last embers One for All has left him with only a ghost of a trace remaining. He can't do hero work without it, so he's retired. He's just been discharged from hospital and will be in bandages for quite a while though he will be resuming his teaching duties when he can. However, he beat All for One and that monster is finally behind bars."

"Yes about him." Marinette said, she'd already told the others about his presence and how strong it was, so they knew how strongly he affected her which showed to Adrien just how evil that man was, well is as he is still alive. "What's going to happen? He's one of the strongest villains out there even with all that life support stuff so can he be incarcerated? Is there a prison that can hold him?"

"That is true he is and that is why he's been taken to Tartarus Prison, which is the only prison that can reliably hold him." Mage said before chuckling at that. "Ah trust the humans to call the highest security prison in the world after, well, that level of literal prison down in the depths of Hades. It's why old Tartarus is still around, no one has forgotten him, and it is fitting as no one has ever escaped from it just like it's almost impossible to escape from the real thing. I've been there once as I had some business with a few of the deities that reside there, and I never want to go there again."

"Um which Tartarus?" Adrien asked.

"The real one." Mage said with a slight shudder. "Still remember it after more than 4,000 years. The human one though, it's just your typical high security prison that houses the worst of the worst under special restraints if their Quirk demands it. It houses them both pre-trial and post along with having a death chamber for executions for those who get sentenced to death."

"Special restraints?" Adrien asked a little confused.

"Yup some Quirks require a villain to be housed under some rather restrictive conditions." Mage said with a nod. "Right now, All for One is being held in a special cell where he is always immobile and restrained with his brain waves being monitored at all times so if he even thinks about activating his Quirk they can act to sedate him or if necessary kill him with the many guns permanently trained on him at all times as they are authorized to used lethal force in several situations."

"Damn that extreme." Marinette said a little taken aback by that before realizing that this was a new society, so things were going to be different when it came to incarcerating villains. "But then again I guess it makes sense, he was as strong as All Might."

"Well, when you see who's housed there it is necessary for some of these people, especially those with power up, strength, and destruction Quirks." Mage said. "In addition to All for One, Stain is there right now though his cell is jut high tech, so are Muscular and Moonfish from the attack on the training camp. Mustard, that gas guy, isn't dangerous enough for it and as his Quirk works on him as well so all he needs is a special cell that most high security prisons have. Other than those lot there are a few other high-profile inmates in Tartarus. The most famous fallen hero, an unmatched sniper called Lady Nagant, who killed a fellow hero in an argument, is incarcerated there, as is a villain known as the Dictator."

"Wait a fallen hero?" Marinette asked shocked as it was something she hadn't really thought about before. "That happens?"

"Corruption, greed, power, disillusionment, there are many things really can cause a hero to fall, and there are some that are bad from the start having only gone into hero work for their own personal gains." Mage said though he new the real reason for Nagant's incarceration and understood why it was done as she did deserve her life sentence but at the same time she shouldn't have died for it given the whole circumstances that led to the murder that she committed to land in Tartarus. "She was just the most public of them as she was a pretty well-known hero when she fell hence why she is there."

"Huh well that is something we'll have to keep an eye on and another big difference to what we're used to, though we should have expected it in such a hero saturated society." Adrien said as he took a sip of his juice. "But back to the topic at hand, what other updates do you have?"

"Yes Ragdoll and Best Jeanist, how are they?" Marinette said recalling what she heard happening to the latter and how the former had looked when she was found in the warehouse. "Did they make it?"

"Yes both are alive, but they will be out of action for a long time, possibly permanently." Mage said. "Ragdoll is fine physically. She was wounded when they caught her, but she's fully patched up however she has a long way to go to mentally recover. The problem is her Quirk, it's gone."

"Gone?" Adrien asked. "As in taken by All for One? Marinette said he claimed it, but I didn't know if that was true or not."

"Yeah I hoped it wasn't but, well, as soon as All Might confirmed that it was indeed All for One there I knew that it had to be true." Marinette said. "This just confirms it then."

"Precisely." Mage said with a sigh. "It's been a while since it's happened, but Search was stolen from her. It is a really useful Quirk, and it has the added effect that it never loses the data of new people it is used on which is likely the main reason why it was targeted and why All for One waited until after she'd used it on all 42 of you. Best to be careful now, if All for One learns of your Quirks he might want them, especially Lucky Charm, and I couldn't protect them from that when I altered your DNA."

"We'll be alert, don't worry." Marinette said understanding the seriousness of it while Adrien nodded. "And Best Jeanist?"

"He lost a lung and had extensive damage to his internal organs, but he'll live." Mage said. "He's out of action for at least half a year though which is a big blow as he's now the number 3 hero with All Might's retirement though it won't be official until the next rankings. He has a long road to recovery, but he'll get there, he's a resilient one."

"That is bad." Adrien said. "But at least no heroes died."

"No, we were lucky and plenty of Nomus were caught but they are all mindless creatures." Mage said sounding disgusted. "An abomination for sure but we got a bunch of them however we are still no closer to finding out who is making them or how they are made. I've suggested using a contact I know back in the UK, he's an underground hero with special training and credentials that might be able to lend a hand in investigating the source of Nomus, but it's not yet been approved as the Heroes Public Safety Commission is still reviewing it."

"Even with that there is bureaucracy." Marinette said. "Though it does make sense if he's a foreigner."

"Alas it does but there are heroes here already looking into it, the HPSC even has one of their top agents on it apparently, so we are hopeful." Mage said. "But yeah that is basically it. Shigaraki and his lot, all but the flame Quirk guy Dabi, have been publicly identified from the Quirk registry and past crimes that they are all wanted for, are on the run and now grace the most wanted lists but we can't find them. Plus, they have Kurogiri, so they are hard to pin down with that guy's Quirk."

"True, the warp ability is a good one." Adrien said. "Though I am surprised that you can't find someone who can create blue flames in the records. That can't be common even with the amount of fire Quirks out there."

"It's not, in fact other than Blaze, he's the Fire Guardian, the only other fire user known to able to generate blue flames is Endeavor and only when he goes Plus Ultra, and it's so hot that it burns even him." Mage said. "Which is strange and means that it's either unreported or worse."

"Worse?" Marinette asked. "How can it be worse?"

"It's there but inaccurate because it's changed." Mage said. "Or the person is believed dead, that is another thing to consider and a good possibility as well."

"Changed?" Marinette asked. "A Quirk can change. I mean I know it can grow, both Adrien and I have extended our time limits to about 10 or so minutes through stamina training, eating before the limit ends, and forcibly surpassing our limits. In addition, I can now change Lucky Charm during the period or even set it to vanish on its own and Adrien can use Cataclysm in both hands."

"And I'm trying to increase that so any tips will be helpful." Adrien said. "We're going to be resuming some intensive training soon so anything you might be able to help with will be very useful."

"Oh, that is simple." Mage said dismissively. "I was waiting until after the training camp, so now, to see how you worked on your own before letting you in on a Miraculous, not secret per se but more an overlooked fact, that may help. I am not sure how they will work now that their your Quirks and part of your DNA, it's why I can't get Lucky Charm to be complete as that second part is tied to my magic so I could only do the standard power of it, but there is a way you two can grow them I think."

"I understand it about not being able to clean up stuff, it is a shame but oh well." Marinette said. "However, we will take any advice we can get on how to improve our Quirks."

"I know but you had to earn it which you have." Mage said. "Alright my advice to you is that the only limit you really have on what you can do with your Quirks is yourself."

"What do you mean?" Adrien asked confused.

"What I mean is that the only limit on the power of a Miraculous is the user's imagination." Mage said. "Didn't you guys once use each other's Miraculouses back in the day?"

"Yeah shortly before the incident." Marinette said as it hit her. "When Adrien used Lucky Charm he got a mirror which was what he wanted but it wouldn't have been what I'd have gotten in that situation."

"Well, it's what I thought I needed." Adrien said with a shrug.

"But when I use it I think of the goal, back then it would be how to defeat the akuma, not the item." Marinette said thinking on it. "Though in the woods when I changed it I pictured the needed change as a change in my goals from chasing down the villain with our classmates to a weapon to fight them with because the situation required it. Until then I'd not been able to do that because of I was just focusing on change the item not the goal which is how I use my Quirk. Huh, that is clever. That gives me a lot of directions to work in."

"Me too." Adrien said understanding it now that Mage had explained it.

"Good to see." Mage said. "I look forward to seeing how you work on them when you take the licensing exam."

"Wait before we continue, and we will because I want to know about this licensing exam, let's go back to a Quirk changing." Marinette said. "That can happen?"

"Yes there are many ways to change a Quirk, training improves it and allows you to do more with it, but some Quirks do change in more dramatic ways." Mage said. "Mostly it's because of puberty. As you get older, your body changes and, well, Quirks are part of your body so it makes sense that one would change when you grow. This is the most common with emitter class Quirks, but some mutant Quirks can change with different applications or realizations."

"Huh and is that all?" Adrien asked.

"There's another way to change a Quirk but it requires certain circumstances that can vary from person to person and is so extreme that it's not known for any in this day and age to have been through that." Mage said. "So best to not think of it unless you encounter it. As for this fire Quirk that Dabi has, my theory is that it is a puberty thing for him, that's the one that makes the most sense."

"How so?" Adrien asked.

"It's all in the flames themselves." Mage said. "Blue flames occur at temperatures above 2,000 degrees Celsius so a child can't handle that, and human biology has been surprisingly adaptive to Quirks for some reason. My best guess is that Dabi was born with an intense fire Quirk that got hotter as he grew older and then changed at some point to blue during his puberty. It would explain his appearance, even with a constitution that can handle it, that sudden and hot a change can cause serious damage."

"That could easily explain his extensive scars but I'm sure that we won't know for sure until he's caught." Marinette said. "But all this is good to know. One thing I've learned from Midoriya is that the more you know about how Quirks work the stronger you can make them and the better you can counter them."

"That is in general how it works." Mage said. "Now back to the hero licensing exam. Due to the whole USJ incident, that little debacle in Hosu that I know you now know about Marinette so you can't speak of it as well, and the attack on the camp, not to mention your little unsanctioned op, the powers that be at U.A. have decided that you will take the licensing exam a year early. It was why the camp was so intensive and that training will resume soon. I've probably mentioned it before, but this exam will, if you pass, grant you a provisional hero license that you can use your Quirks in an emergency just like a fully licensed hero. Basically, it's a learner's permit but for hero work."

"Ah well that would be good." Adrien said recalling Hosu well. "And useful to have so that something like Hosu doesn't happen again."

"Given how several of you end up in situations you shouldn't be near, let alone in, it will be." Mage said. "The exam is at the end of the summer right before the start of the second semester so that is when you will be taking it. However, now that it is over due to being attacked, you need to train for it another way. Thankfully that is where the next thing comes in and I've already signed off on it for you two as your legal guardian pending your approval of it of course."

"Our approval?" Marinette asked. "Why do I feel like we should be worried about that."

"It's nothing bad I assure you, just a major change that Nezu has been thinking of for a long time and now has the reason and justification to put it into effect." Mage said. "A dorm system. Basically, U.A. is becoming a boarding school. They've already built the dorms on the land owned by U.A. and it is right next to the main building so it's convenient for all. The dorms are for all students and are mandatory if you wish to stay at U.A. Do you agree to move into them?"

"We are in this for the long haul." Adrien said simply. "We don't have anything to go back to in France, we ended up here when time caught up with us and we are now at U.A. so I don't see why not."

"Neither and it will help us bond more with our classmates." Marinette said. "We have no reason not to agree. It will be a transition I am sure and there may be issues with the other classes seeing as this is kinda our fault, but it does make sense given what's happened. We have been attacked twice now."

"Yes and there are going to be some rather strict rules to avoid that happening again." Mage said. "Like pretty much you can't leave campus without a reason or a teacher unless it is like right outside the school and near the hero agencies around it and event then that might be hard. I'll have the full new rules on your desks, er, now. Same with the agreement from me to Nezu granting you permission to move onto campus, it'll be on his desk by the time I'm done talking so you're all good there. Because of me being a teacher at U.A. as well, the other teachers, Aizawa and All Might for your class, aren't needed to come and convince me."

"Of course." Adrien said before realizing something and looking to Marinette. "But bugaboo, with this new rule we won't be able to share a bed."

"Yeah they wouldn't let us would they." Marinette said not sounding hopeful. "Right?"

"No, they won't." Mage said shaking his head. "The dorms are by class and will have two identical wings with 4 floors of rooms and four rooms per floor. Your homeroom teacher has final say on assignments, but from what I understand there is no way between the boys and girls sides and there are other precautions in place, especially in your building due to a known couple being in your class and the fact that you guys have Mineta in your class. It's all about decorum and what not and don't expect to be placed on the same floor either, I know Aizawa well enough that he'll take this seriously."

"We understand." Adrien said and he meant it even if he personally didn't like it. "It's like that in European boarding schools, in fact boys and girls don't actually share boarding houses most of the time as far as I recall though I was never going to go to one. I think my cousin did but after mom went missing that side of the family kinda broke away from us."

"It is like that in England." Mage said. "I know all the big co-ed schools, made sure to preserve them after the Quirk Wars while changing many into hero schools as well, and with some small exceptions for younger students that had similar policies as what you now have they only had all boys and all girls houses."

"Well at least this will allow us to all be together." Marinette said. "It will help us bond as a class even if we can't share a room."

"I'll make sure that you have a little surprise to help alleviate that a bit waiting in your rooms when you move in, and I know which rooms you've been assigned to." Mage said with a grin that they didn't like. "And as for stuff, well you will have a few days to plan what to bring and I can have it transported over but remember that it has to be what can fit in a dorm room which will be smaller than either of your rooms from Paris and I am not using my powers on your rooms."

"Makes sense and we can get to work after this with what we want to bring." Adrien said. "Anything else we need to know?"

"Yes one thing and I tried to stop them but, well, they were persistent, and I couldn't stop them if I tried, well I could but I wouldn't, so it's best to go with it." Mage said. "The kwamis…"

"Are moving into the dorms with you!" Plagg said excitedly flying out of the fridge where he'd no doubt been eating cheese seeing as he was still carrying a piece of camembert that he ate before continuing. "So, we're going to be with you in the dorm rooms."

"Yes when Mage told us about them we agreed to go with you because we are always by your side, so we had to be there." Tikki said. "Well not like before but this is going to be fun, and we all promise to be on our best behavior."

"All?" Marinette asked her eyes wide. "You mean…"

"Yup." Mage said with a sigh of resignation. "Despite my best efforts, all 19 are going with you and to split it up the males will be with Adrien and the females with Marinette."

"So that means you get me, Trixx, Nooroo, Sass, Wayzz, Duusu, Xuppa, Daizzi, Stompp and Orikko." Plagg said with a grin. "While Marinette gets Tikki, Longg, Fluff, Pollen, Kaalki, Mullo, Roaar, Ziggy, and Barkk so a pretty even divide between us."

"Yes that is how it will be." Mage said to the stunned kids. "Have fun with them but be careful and I'm a call away for any issues with them. As for their Miraculouses, you will have to take special boxes I've created to hold them but allow the kwamis to be out as well. You can use them as you wish but, well, be sensible though Fu wouldn't have selected you two if you weren't."

"We will be." Adrien said before remembering something that Mage had said he'd do after their final against him. "And speaking of Miraculouses, what is the status with ours?"

"Oh, they're all ready and changed for you guys and will be in your rooms with instructions on the upgrades work when you get there." Mage said. "They're pretty straightforward though you can only upgrade once during an activation as that's the best Technus has managed so far with his artificial tech-based costumes that these are mimicking so I've set that limiter for the moment. Everything is set, you just have to master it."

"We will." Marinette said as their now empty plates and glasses vanished. "But if that is it then we should take our leave and start deciding what to take and what not to while laying some ground rules with the kwamis."

"Agreed." Adrien said looking at Plagg. "Seeing as we will be near others they will need them."

"Good plan, I must leave to attend to my cover job and the shit ton of paperwork that comes with it." Mage said and with that he, and his now third cup of tea, vanished leaving the couple and the kwamis there.

"Let's get to work kitty." Marinette said. "This will take some time to sort out."

"That it will m'lady." Adrien said as they got up and went to get to work with the kwamis following them to 'help'.

A lot had happened in only a few days, but they were learning that at times things in the new society they were in could be fast paced so they were rolling with it. There was certainly a lot of big changes in the wake of the Kamino Ward incident, but they knew that they could keep up with them and prepare for the next big challenge for them, packing to move into the dorms. Things were certainly about to get interesting, and the pair didn't know just how interesting things would get when they moved into the dorms.

Well, there is your standard filler, Mage review, chapter to bridge the Hideout Raid and Moving into the Dorms arcs where we recap what has happened, fill in a few details, and set up for what is to come while throwing a few other things in there that fit well with what was going on. Y'all know what that is going to be so not much more to say other than that there are a few surprises in store for y'all to look forward to. The only thing to really mention from this is that Lady Nagant and Dictator are canon MHA characters that are in the manga during the post war arc so will not appear in the show until season 7 but they worked to mention here (I actually referenced Nagant back in chapter 11 but didn't use her name). Nagant has actually become a bit of a fan favorite and even graces the cover of the 32nd volume of the manga (no English release date for it yet but probably around October 2022) so I know that I'm looking forward to her anime debut in a while. Also, for anyone wondering, I did actually go to a British boarding school for high school, so I know the system there pretty well unfortunately. Anyway, that is all I have for now so I will leave this chapter of here. If you like it or have any questions please let me know in reviews or PMs, I will try to answer them as best I could and post any questions asked between uploads at the start of the next chapter and do follow and favorite this, so you are alerted to future uploads. Do keep the reviews coming as I like hearing from y'all as you enjoy my work, it motivates me to keep producing the best work I can for y'all to enjoy. Until next time.
