Here it is, the 107th full chapter of Miraculous Quirks released on the right day as promised. This is the last and longest of the series of transition chapters that connect the Joint Training arc to the Endeavor Agency arc while also acknowledging the events of at least the latter part of the My Villain Academia arc. This chapter is also one of the handful of chapters that is based off something from the School Briefs books, in this case the 5th book in that series and the Yaoyorozu family New Year's party story between two of the chapters only with Marinette and Adrien present to add to it. As soon as I had Momo learn of their pasts I knew I'd do this chapter so here it is for your enjoyment. That is all the administrative stuff I have for now and while there are no review questions to answer there are some clarifications and responses from reviews to make which I will do now. Do keep the reviews coming as I enjoy hearing from y'all. That is all I have for this pre chapter note so that means that it is time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the 107th full chapter of Miraculous Quirks.

Disclaimer: I do not own either of these great works of fiction.

Chapter 107: Happy New Year!

"As always you are looking amazing Adrien." Marinette said as she entered the living room and kitchen area of the penthouse to find Adrien waiting for her having gotten ready quicker than she had but then again she did have to sort her hair and makeup out which she was still not great at, so it wasn't a surprise. "And I'm not just saying that because I love you and made that suit."

"I know and you look as beautiful as ever my lady." Adrien said with a smile. "We'll fit right in at this."

"You at least understand high society." Marinette said as she reached him, and they looked each other over. "I don't. Just so long as they aren't like Chloe I'll be good though."

"True and I doubt it, the culture is significantly different here, so I don't think they'd tolerate behavior like hers when she was at her worse though Chloe wasn't as bad as all that at times." Adrien said. "But right now, you look like you're part of it which is most of the way there, the rest is just attitude and poise and I know you'll nail that."

Adrien wasn't wrong, Marinette looked stunning in a form fitting black dress that hugged her in all the right places to show off her athletic and slender build while still being modest as it came down to just above her ankles. It was just the kind of dress that would suit Marinette hence why she'd made it.

The dress itself wasn't low cut, not that Marinette really had anything to show off there anyway and had two simple straps over her shoulders with two more larger ones coming from the side of the bustline to attach to her biceps. The shoulders straps were specially made to be just thick enough to hide the scar on the back of her left shoulder blade from the raid as she didn't want to answer questions about it.

To accessorize Marinette had donned her new bracelet without opting for gloves, a white sash over her hips and waist that had a silver center right at her navel to hide any potential outline of the piercing there and a simple white clutch bag to hold her phone and other essentials that she slung over her shoulder. She hadn't opted for heels, she was still terrible in them and didn't want to embarrass herself at this event, so she was wearing a pair of tasteful black formal women's shoes.

Finishing it off she'd let her hair down as the pigtails wouldn't fit in this setting though a silver clip held the fringe up a bit higher than normal. Then she'd applied a light application of makeup to accentuate her features with some tasteful black eyeliner, simple lip gloss and clear nail polish to complete the look.

Of course, her own eyes were drawn to Adrien who as always rocked his outfit. He was wearing a clean, tailored, and crisp white suit that clung to his muscular frame perfectly if Marinette did say so herself though she was extremely biased there and not just because she loved him but because she'd made the suit herself. He'd accompanied it with a pitch-black shirt and shoes that were polished to a mirror shine and his ring was as always on. He looked perfect to Marinette.

They had been invited to the Yaoyorozu annual New Year's party at the Yaoyorozu family estate by Momo. It was mainly to be there with her as she was going to be the only one their age present as this was for her parents and 300 of their friends but also to give them something to do on this one day at home they got before the second round of work studies began. The rest of their class were either at home, an impromptu concert, making mochi, or other activities with their families but Adrien and Marinette couldn't do that, so Momo had invited them to this after the bakery update the day before.

It helped that Momo knew the truth about them and had done a work study with Mage who would be the member of staff on duty for all this. Even then, Momo's mother had been more than happy for the additional school guests to be added to the list at the last minute and her father was keen to talk with Adrien as he no doubt wanted to get in on the Agreste fashion line's expansion into Japan that was coming. It was going to be fancy and a lot of networking, but they were ready for it.

"You both look good for this." A female voice said causing them to turn to find that Sanguina had appeared in the kitchen area and walking towards them on a pair of red stiletto heels that sparkled with what looked like a few rubies as if it was nothing. "This is something you should get used to; your families are both well respected still thanks to our work so consider this a bit of a dry run for when you both take over your family businesses full time and have to attend and host such functions. Plus, there is always infiltration missions that may require these kinds of social skills."

Sanguine really looked ready for it in a blood red flowing dress that came to her ankles with a slit from the hem all the way up to just below her right hip so as to avoid being inappropriate while still remaining tantalizing to look at. It was sleeveless with a halter top that came up to her throat were a caduceus pin rested in the hollow of it that had to be her weapon in disguise while still hugging her modest bust just right and judging by the cut it was backless if Marinette had to guess.

The Blood Guardian completed the look with long red gloves that came up to her biceps and a simple red purse in her hand and a pair of red rubies cut and smoothed to look like small drops of blood hanging from her ears. She'd even styled her hair up into an elegant but slightly messy bun so that it was off her shoulders with the red tips on prime display.

The one odd thing was that she was wearing a pair of red, wrap around shades to hide her eyes and which matched the blood red lipstick she had on which was a contrast to her pale skin. It was odd and Marinette had to ask about it.

"Um, what's with the shades?" Marinette asked unsure how to really ask about it or how to talk with the Guardian of Blood as she'd not really had many interactions with the woman. "Is there a need for them at an evening, indoor, party?"

"There is because while I can change my eyes, I opted to make them the way they are when we adapted to the Quirk world to blend in." Sanguina said. "I'm not the only one who's done something like that mind you but, well, when your eyes are twin pools of what look likes liquid blood, which they kinda are, it can be disconcerting to some people. As this is mingling with high society and I have a certain reputation as a Guardian and healer, which will no doubt please the Yaoyorozu patriarch to have two Guardians at his party, so I need to avoid upsetting people if I wish to maintain strong relationships. Certain prejudices and discomforts still exist, unfortunately, and I don't feel like dealing with them tonight."

"Is that also the reason for the gloves?" Adrien asked as Marinette processed Sanguina's answer to her question. "Japan is still a little uncomfortable with tattoos if I recall."

"Yes they are still more associated with the underworld though not as bad as it used to be." Sanguina said. "But again, this is high society, and the styling of my tattoo is rather morbid so again best to hide it so as to avoid questions or gawking at it. At least the gloves are part of the get up and many women will be wearing them, so I'll fit right in. The male Guardians have this easier. Now if only…"

"Alright let's get going." Mage said suddenly appearing in the room in a flash of white light his knife in his hand as a white glow receded from it while he was speaking. "I've had to leave Yaoyorozu there for a moment so let's be quick about this."

"…some of the men in our Order had better fashion tastes in their formal wear then it would be good." Sanguina said with a sigh as Marinette and Adrien blanched at Mage's outfit. "I swear back in the day it used to be better, but the more eccentric styles have become in vogue these days."

There was good reason to react the way they did to Mage's outfit because while he was wearing formal clothes that looked expensive, well-tailored, and nice, the issue was in the color. The entire suit down to the shirt, tie, and shoes was lilac, the color of his shirt and cloak when in costume or more accurately his Guardian color.

Sanguina had been right that in the past the male Guardians had gone for black or white suites with their chosen color as their formal shirt or even just a black suit, white shirt and the colored tie if they felt that looked better. These days though Mage had decided to change things up and opted to go with a full suit in his chosen color though at least he wasn't adding any ruffles, masks or, flashy touches that had been in fashion intermittently over the centuries.

The female Guardians, at least those who preferred dresses over pantsuits or straight up women's suits for such events, at least could get away with a dress in their chosen color and cut as they liked it for the most part but, well, Mage couldn't pull off the full color option. It was no wonder that it had caused such a reaction from them.

"Come on it looks good." Mage said with a grin. "And it stands out so perfect for the schmoozing we have to do at this thing."

"I hate that I have to be seen with you in that." Sanguina said and Marinette was sure that she was glaring at her fellow Guardian from behind her glasses. "I'm going to be glad to get back to the States tomorrow after all this."

"Yes I would like to resume my main duties here as soon as possible so this works out well." Mage said. "Now let's go, I'm only able to get away with this because Nezu knows of my true nature, but it will only last for so long."

"Alright let's get moving." Sanguina said. "I take it you've set up a mirage point to hide the nature of our arrival."

"Of course." Mage said as he placed a hand on Adrien's shoulder and his knife began to glow while. "Tap into Bright's power and follow me with Marinette."

"Wait your knife?" Marinette asked but Sanguina just grinned at that and moved her dress a bit to show that she had a red garter on her upper thigh with her knife strapped to the inside of it which Adrien tastefully looked away from. "Oh."

"I'm always strapped." Sanguina said as she drew it, grabbed Marinette's arm with her free hand and they all vanished in two flashes of light from the knives.

The teleportation, something that Marinette and Adrien were still not sure how it worked though it seemed to be tied to the Guardian of Light's power, was near instantaneous and they landed on the long block that had the Yaoyorozu estate on it. Mage had ensured it that they landed at the end of the long line to get in and the person in front of them didn't bat an eyelash at it as they joined the line slowly made their way into the castle-like estate of the Yaoyorozu house while Marinette and Adrien recovered from the slight disorientation that the travel had caused.

"Ah Mr. Mage, you have the other guests you left to collect I see." An attendant said as they reached the front door. "These must be your colleague Lady Sanguina and Momo's school friends Miss Dupain-Cheng and Mr. Agreste. I've heard of both your families; it is an honor to have their scions and heirs here tonight. Please, the banquet hall awaits."

"Banquet hall?" Adrien asked as they were shown in, and Mage led the way to were Momo would be.

"It's Momo." Marinette said with a sigh. "It should be expected from her at this point."

Adrien just nodded as they headed to said banquet hall and then marveled at it when they got there. Adrien had been around wealth all his life, but this was a level his dad could only have dreamed of he felt and certainly explained why Momo was always a little out of touch with the others when it came to mundane things if this is what she grew up in.

"Well, it's time to mix and mingle with high society." Sanguina said as she took a glass of champagne from a passing server and walked into the crowd. "Mage, get to it, you are our representative here full time, so you need to be extra schmoozy while I find some rich donors for various charities I work with, this is a great place for that."

"Have fun, don't drink and behave yourselves." Mage said as he too grabbed a drink and looked around the crowd. "And don't forget to use your family names, they will actually carry weight here. Now if you excuse me I think I see one of the support gear finalists for Technus's expansion into Japan so I must make small talk. Excuse me, Mr.…."

"May as well at least find Momo." Marinette said as Mage approached an older man in a traditional Japanese suit who clearly looked pleased to see the Guardian approaching him first. "She'll at least help us."

"Of course, m'lady." Adrien said offering her his arm. "Shall we?"

Marinette just nodded and took his arm they headed into the crowd to find their friend. It would take a while, they knew it as there was over 300 people here, so as they moved they made small talk with curious attendees as they meandered through it while explaining that they were classmates of Momo's who were at U.A. thanks to the special foreign transfer program hence why they weren't home for the break.

That invariably led to more questions and revealing who they were. Within 10 minutes Adrien already had several business cards from people keen to build relationships with the Agreste fashion empire and its many subsidiaries within the hero world both for the Agreste expansion that was just breaking into the Japanese market and to try and get a foothold in Europe for their own companies.

It wasn't just Adrien getting attention though as Marinette too got some attention from those within the food and catering industries. The Dupain family bakery chain was hugely popular in Europe and America but still only had one store in the east Asian market at the moment and many had experienced it while on business in Shanghai and were keen to partner with her family should they expand to Japan and elsewhere. Marinette was of course polite and respectful as she gathered contact information to review later because this could be useful especially for the catering and personalization side of the business.

"Ah there you are." A very familiar, excited voice said causing them to turn to see Momo dressed to the nines in a way only she could manage and chatting to an older man who she briefly turned back to. "Thank you for your kind words, U.A. is the best and I intend to learn as much as I can from it."

"There is no better school in the country, I am sure your parents are proud of your success there." The man said before he turned and left to chat to another guest and Momo came over to them.

"Marinette, Adrien, I'm so glad you could make it." Momo said as she reached them.

"It's our pleasure Momo." Marinette said as she disengaged from Adrien and embraced her friend with a kiss on each cheek in the traditional French style that Momo had gotten used to with Marinette. "Been a while since I got to properly dress up and there is always training in things like this."

"I was just thinking that." Momo said as they broke apart and she bowed slightly to Adrien who returned it at the same level, she would have respected his culture more, but this was a Japanese high society even so embracing someone of the opposite gender like that might be frowned upon at something like this. "I've been doing this stuff since before I can remember so this kind of thing comes naturally to me. I figured being able to mingle at one of these could come in handy in the right situation."

"Here work isn't always action and fighting." Adrien said as Marinette took his arm again. "Sometimes infiltration, socializing and what not are just as important so having those skills can help in the right situation."

"Yes as Marinette showed me in Kamino we are going to have to be able to adapt to situations." Momo said a slight flush appearing on her face. "Though I would like some heads-up next time."

"Couldn't be helped plus you'd were so into the outfits that there wasn't time, and I did enjoy surprising you." Marinette said with a shrug. "But that was a bit more extreme than normal, and I am sure that it wouldn't be as useful in something like this."

"If the goal isn't to attract attention then no it isn't." Momo said shaking her head. "Japan has come a long way in that regard, but we are no where near the west in a lot of aspects and couples like that will face a mix of curiosity, tokenization, and prejudice which won't help with blending into something like this. Other scenes however it would be very useful."

"Agreed." Marinette said. "Honestly, the school should do more training on the social aspect of hero work. Our work study showed that research is important, but this is also part of being a hero in its own way. Some of us may excel in this aspect of hero work."

"I think it's a second- or third-year thing." Momo said. "And some of our class may struggle at this kind of hero work."

"True, between social ineptitude, personality, the nature of their Quirks in at least Toru's case, and Mineta most of the guys would struggle." Adrien admitted. "But not all. Some would be very good at this."

"Agreed but we shouldn't talk about hero work here." Momo said. "This is a party so I should help introduce you around, once the featured presentation or performance is over that is as it is about to start I think."

"That would be nice, we've met a few people, but you could be really helpful in bridging some gaps for us." Marinette said. "But what is this presentation or performance?"

"A tradition at the Yaoyorozu New Year's party and one that I always look forward to." Momo said with a smile as the lights began to dim. "Ah looks like it is time, my father will introduce it now."

Adrien and Marinette just exchanged a look and shrugged before they looked up to the stage in the banquet hall because of course it had a stage as a spotlight shone on a middle-aged man that had to be Mr. Yaoyorozu. He looked extremely well put together in a suit that Marinette's trained eye instantly noted was of made from the finest quality materials and perfectly tailored showing its expense.

"Friends and family." Mr. Yaoyorozu said to the gathered attendees. "This is the moment many of you look forward to every year but this year we've decided to do something a little different compared to past years. Instead of the usual entertainment we've quickly thrown together a special film for you this evening."

"A film?" Momo asked confused as murmurs broke out. "That is new."

"Sounds interesting." Marinette said as a massive screen lowered over the stage. "Didn't you know what it would be?"

"I've been out of the loop this year because I wasn't expecting to be here due to the dorm system." Momo said. "The whole allowance to go home for New Year's was last minute so I didn't help out with the planning thus I didn't get told what the performance would be. I'm excited for this though, we've never done a film before though father does have contacts in that industry so it should be good."

"This short film was put together by an Academy Award winning director as soon as we were informed of something." Mr. Yaoyorozu said causing both Marinette and Adrien to look shocked at each other as if this was a short notice thing from someone with that kind of pedigree then the cost must have been huge, not even Chloe could have pulled that off back in the day, though it was clearly nothing to the Yaoyorozu family. "It is a chronicle of the path thus far taken by our beloved daughter from her birth to present. So, it is my great pleasure to give you 'The History of Momo Yaoyorozu!'"

As soon as he was done speaking the title he'd just announced appeared on the screen with a bang as a dramatic soundtrack accompanied it for some reason. A second later the first scene appeared, and it was clear that it was going for some history or setting the scene as it was about Momo's parents falling in love but before Marinette and Adrien could enjoy it the noticed their friend's reaction to it.

"Come on, I need answers." Momo said. "And probably backup. Sorry to introduce you to my parents like this, but I need to discuss this with them and could use some support."

"Um ok." Marinette said not sure she wanted to get into family drama but seeing that she had little choice as she and Adrien fell into step behind Momo as she marched to her parents and an older butler who was likely the head butler, which he in fact was.

"Father, what is the meaning of this?" Momo asked as she reached them.

"Surprised?" Mr. Yaoyorozu said with a smile. "U.A. didn't give us much time to put this together but we just about managed it. This is just a first draft, we intend to have a better, more complete one when you've established your career."

"The director was delighted with the opportunity though and has done a great job with it, even planning on submitting it for consideration for an Academy Award for best live action short this year but we didn't release it in theaters so it's not eligible." A woman that looked like an older version of Momo said so she had to be Momo's mother. Regardless, it's come out great for such short notice."

"I'm not concerned about the details of this film." Momo said getting rattled a little though Adrien and Marinette were curious about them given how extreme short notice it had been, just how much money had this thing cost to make? "I'm wondering why it was made in the first place."

"Wow, you were a cute baby." Marinette said causing Momo to turn and go bright red at the scene of her as a newborn being shown to all the guests in some extreme version of baby photos. "Impressive that you filmed it, most don't."

"Good preservation for the future at the very least." Adrien said with a nod. "Would have helped with the production. I can see why it was compiled on such short notice if there was preexisting footage of things."

"Can you two please support me here." Momo said looking to them. "And my parents have filmed all my major milestones with a professional team for posterity though I'll admit I wasn't aware of the extent of the filming."

"Sorry, I'm admiring the art of this." Adrien said.

"And we'd rather not get involved." Marinette said as they turned to Momo's parents, and she bowed to them. "Mr. Yaoyorozu, Mrs. Yaoyorozu, thank you for having us. I am Marinette Dupain-Cheng, one of your daughter's classmates."

"And I am Adrien Agreste." Adrien said with a bow as well. "It is an honor to be here and welcomed in you beautiful home."

"So, you are some of Momo's classmates, she was so excited to have you here." Momo's mother said happily. "The others were lovely as well and she explained your situation being transfer students from France, it is our honor to host you here. I would like to offer you a proper greeting in your culture if that's ok."

"Er sure." Marinette said a little taken aback by Momo's mother as she approached her."

"Agreste you say." Momo's father said looking at Adrien as Mrs. Yaoyorozu kissed Marinette on each cheek with her returning the gesture out of habit while Momo made a note to apologize for her mother later. "The heir to the Agreste fashion empire, right?"

"That would be correct sir." Adrien said with a nod.

"Momo told me about her friendship with you and her work study at the Guardian Agency." Mr. Yaoyorozu said. "I look forward to a deep discussion with you and that Guardian who runs it, I am sure there is a lot of business that we can do together."

"The Agreste family is looking to expand its operations into Japan, it was one of the main reasons why I was allowed to attend U.A. after passing the transfer test, so working with a skilled businessman like yourself would be beneficial to both parties." Adrien said. "And your daughter speaks highly of you Mr. Yaoyorozu."

"Thank you." Mr. Yaoyorozu said as his wife backed up to join him while Marinette processed what had just happened. "Now I must ask you two as you live in the dorms with Momo, how do you find them? They seem very cramped to me; they made Momo send back almost all of her boxes and furniture that we packed up for her move so we are worried that she might be too comfortable there without most of her things."

"Indeed, we could only send a single box as a care package." Mrs. Yaoyorozu said as Adrien and Marinette did their best to not react to what was being said to them as clearly being out of touch with reality was a family trait though this did explain why Momo had to send back so many boxes when they moved in and why her room was basically just her large bed from home. "Why we could barely fit a collection of Momo's favorite teas in it, and we had so much more to send."

"I shared the teas with the class." Momo said. "They all loved them."

"Yes your daughter has been treating us to a great selection of teas that we have all enjoyed." Marinette said. "She's an expert there and the variety is quite impressive."

"That's lovely to hear." Mrs. Yaoyorozu said with a smile before looking at Marinette. "But, um, as a fellow female could you confirm that the bathing there is communal? That is a bit much is it not?"

"Um well it is, and I'll admit that as I am from a culture that does not do that it took a little to get used to it myself though the French are comfortable with communal, er, attire or lack thereof." Marinette said unsure what to really say to this as Momo was now bright red. "But really it's not a bad thing, it helps with bonding between us girls and gives us some time to ourselves where we can relax and be normal teen girls with each other if that makes sense."

"It really is beneficial." Momo said still flushed at what her mother had asked but jumping on what Marinette had said. "And it's normal for school stuff, I must get used to this for the real world."

"Yes, yes all that is good, but you must be desperate for a private soak." Mr. Yaoyorozu said as suddenly an idea hit him that Momo saw right away while Adrien and Marinette were currently desperate to get away from whatever might be coming. "I know! We could build a spa on U.A.'s campus that could have reserved bathing times for the patrons while also giving you privacy and helping all the students battle fatigue and stress. Naturally, we can make sure that it is staffed with the best experts around as well to add to everything."

"Oh, that does sound lovely." Mrs. Yaoyorozu said as Adrien and Marinette just gaped at that, any hope of decorum lost on them at how out of touch this family was, even Adrien wasn't used to this kind of detachment when it came to showing off money and his dad was a man who had flaunted his wealth. "And we could add a shopping mall to match the spa because then you could purchase whatever you need whenever you want. We could even have stores from your friends' families there. I am sure that the Agreste and Dupain families would love this kind of expansion to Japan."

"Excellent idea my dear!" Mr. Yaoyorozu said with a nod though Marinette and Adrien opted to not tell Momo's parents that there actually was a ruined, fake, underground mall already on U.A.'s campus, and a fake American style strip mall as well, so the school already had one, kinda. "It will be a great way to break into the market for Momo's friends and further our business ties with them and other families in her class, but we can't end there. How about some amusement facilities as well. That would be a trifling matter for us and as they say work hard, play hard. I'll draw up the plans right after this party and bring the proposal to the Principal. I'm sure with our funding it will be approved."

"Father, mother!" Momo said loudly silencing her parents and stopping Marinette and Adrien from their goal of quietly slipping away from all this while Momo's parents were in the thrall of their increasingly outlandish ideas of how to add to U.A.'s campus. "I apricate the sentiment and where you are coming from, I really do, but my U.A. experience isn't lacking anything. In fact, the current model is better because it's allowing me to understand and connect with my friends in ways I couldn't before the dorm system was put into place."

"But…" They said together but Momo cut them off.

"They say that home is not just where one's heart is, which is here for me, but also where on hangs one's hat so to speak." Momo said as she began to build up steam. "Even if that place is a cozy dorm room. Bathing with the other girls in my class gives me an opportunity for meaningful conversations with them about girly things that we can't discuss elsewhere as it's the most private place for just us."

"But shopping." Her mother interjected.

"Yes it is a bit of an inconvenience at times." Momo admitted conceding that much to her mother as Momo was used to more fancy shopping experiences. "But the school store has the essentials I need, and I really should learn to get by with just that for when I am in the field. It's just one of the many things that I am learning from the other girls about."

"Entertainment?" Her father asked.

"There are endless sources of that in the dorm." Momo said. "My classmates provide that and then some. We had a great Christmas party the other day, we have a hot pot party planned with Class 1-B to kick off the final semester of the year, so there is a lot to do there. I'm learning so much from my classmates be it about heroes, fashion, styles, music as my friend Kyoka has been getting me into a genre called metal recently while I've been introducing her to a broader range of classical music. Marinette here is a talented fashion designer and baker; she's taught me so much about both arts and in her hands they are truly works of art while Adrien has shown us all how to play some video games and something called foosball."

"Really?" Her parents said looking at the French couple who just nodded at that not wanting to take the wind out of Momo's sails as she was on a role while also not wanting to get involved at all but that was pretty much impossible now.

"Yes really." Momo said with a nod. "All of this adds up to a valuable experience that I wouldn't trade for anything and one that makes me truly happy and connected with my generation and friends. I'm satisfied with my life at U.A., I don't need anything more."

"Very well." Her father said and as Momo calmed down she saw the dejected and shocked looks on her parents' faces at her defense of U.A. and her friends there making her think that she may have been a bit harsh with her words. "We only have the best intentions for our daughter, but we may have gotten a little caried away there."

"We're just so excited to have you back Momo." Her mother added. "We got swept up in the moment that's all."

"Mother, father…" Momo began. "I…"

"Miss Momo." The head butler interjected as once again Marinette and Adrien were looking for somewhere to escape to but couldn't. "Your parents are simply concerned over your first living experience away from home and how it is such a contrast to what you grew up with to the extent that they lose sleep over it. Do try to see it from their perspective as well."

"Is that true?" Momo asked looking at her parents in shock, as were Marinette and Adrien because it showed that as out of touch these people were they still cared deeply for their only child which was nice to see and very different to how Adrien's relationship with his father had been.

"What sort of parents would we be if we weren't worrying about our daughter." Her father said. "We are just thinking about what is best for you."

"Yes, your father has actually been considering moving into a property near U.A. to help keep an eye on you." Her mother added. "It's rather sweet."

"Well, you're one to talk." Her father said looking at his wife. "You have been in the habit of covering the bed with Momo's matryoshka dolls and jumping into the pile of them."

"Oh, you want to talk about those dolls, do you?" Mrs. Yaoyorozu asked quirking an eyebrow at her husband. "I know that you've been speaking to them as if they were Momo."

"When did you see that?" Her father said defensively.

"Momo." Adrien whispered as her parents devolved into a back and forth about this and switching to French so that only she'd understand it. "Take this from someone with a similar background but very different father as you well know, treasure this kind of thing from your parents. They care a lot for you even if they have their own way of showing it that might come off as pushy or over the top at times. Take the rest of the evening with them, Marinette and I will circulate and come back later."

"Right, th, thank you Adrien." Momo said sticking with French as she chuckled at the bickering of her parents, she had missed it a lot and it showed that despite their wealth and station they'd married for love and continued to grow that love to this day which was a rare thing in this level of high society. "Enjoy this with Marinette and don't forget our assignment."

"Yeah that's going to be annoying." Adrien admitted switching back to Japanese as he backed up and took Marinette's hand. "We'll be back after you've had time to enjoy this with your parents."

"Yes, take it from us enjoy this." Marinette said with a smile though Momo could see the pain in her friend's blue eyes as Marinette switched to French. "As we can attest, you never know how long things like this can last so these moments are precious."

"Of course." Momo said understanding what Marinette was getting at as she turned back to her parents and the kanji for her kakizome assignment for Mr. Aizawa came to her as she watched her parents bicker and reflected on the moment before speaking to them. "Mother, father, it seems like I've missed most of the film, could we perhaps watch it as a family after this so we can properly enjoy it together."

Adrien and Marinette smiled at that as they left Momo with her parents and went back to the party and enjoying the film, which was now showing a beaming, young, Momo holding up her first perfect matryoshka doll. It was an interesting item to make but as Adrien thought on it he realized just how complex it really was, especially as Momo couldn't make it out of wood if he recalled given Creation's inability to make organic material, as there was all the paint that had to be made just right as well. It truly was a good way to train and perfect her Quirk.

It was a nice sight to see though, and Adrien and Marinette enjoyed the rest of the film before it ended and the screen ascended, and the party resumed. It was nearing midnight into the new year and the dance floor opened up so Adrien naturally asked Marinette to dance, and she accepted his hand as soon as he did, and they made their way there, they would talk with Momo and her family after midnight fell.

There wasn't much to say as they danced though both were thinking on the kakizome assignment that Mr. Aizawa had given them. They were supposed to choose something that represented an aspiration for the coming year. Apparently this was something done in elementary school in Japan and involved calligraphy, but Mr. Aizawa had wanted them to use it as a focus for them over break and as Adrien and Marinette had never done it before they were thinking hard on it.

As they danced they both came to the conclusions on their own for what they'd do. For Adrien it was a simple choice as it represented both what he had always desired and what he'd found at U.A. since the incident. It was one of the biggest benefits of the whole thing as it had given him true normalcy in his life which he'd always wanted and through that he'd finally found what he was looking for. Adrien's kanji would be the kanji for family.

For Marinette she'd settle on something a little simpler if more than one word but still represented her goals for the coming year. It had been what she'd been focused on since the incident, what had helped her move on and accept the future she was in now, helped of course by having Adrien with her through it all, and that was the kanji for 'forging ahead' because she was still forging her path forward in this new life.

Of course, unbeknownst to the young couple who were lost in thought and love as they danced together, Mage was watching them closely as he danced with Sanguina nearby. He'd used the excuse of a dance to keep an eye on them after a lot of socializing and she'd agreed but had warned him that if he tried anything he'd be reminded of how sharp her caduceus's edges were.

"You care for them a lot." Sanguina said to him quietly in ancient Greek so that no one would understand what they were saying as Mage watched them which got her attention. "I can tell, we all can."

"I messed up with them in a way none of us had ever managed before." Mage said turning back to her. "I failed to see the potential problem and as such something that shouldn't have happened, happened to them. It cost them their lives as they knew it and thrust them into this future that even we could never have foreseen because no one saw Quirks coming. It was my fault they lost the life they knew and had to forge a new one, I am repaying my debt to them."

"I get it, we've all messed up in the past, trust me I know given what I helped my father create back in the day." Sanguina said. "And you've done admirably for it. Just remember your place in this world my brother Guardian. We are not human; we are not like them, and we can't form attachments to them if we have no plans on recruiting them to our followers which given what they've been through might not be a good idea. They need to live as normal and long a life as they can after what happened to them. Don't let your feelings get in the way of your duty to our order and our mandate. Remember that because we both know that Japan is on a knife's edge and it's about slash upwards to cut this country deeply."

"I know our mandate and mission." Mage said. "I am doing my duty here as I have to, but my presence is also elsewhere as well as you well know. I care for them because I've gotten to know them, but I've been a Guardian longer than you have and unlike you I was born as an illegitimate immortal, I know the curses of immortality well."

"Good just checking that you aren't losing yourself, several of our order have done so in the past such is the price we pay for the gift bestowed upon us." Sanguina said as she looked to the couple and smiled at how they looked as they danced together. "Besides, they've adjusted well from what I've seen and are doing good in this new age they are in. You have nothing to worry about."

"I know." Mage said with a smile. "They're strong and resilient, they will make the most of this life and be great heroes in the years to come."

"Good now maneuver me off this dance floor before the countdown begins." Sanguina said as the year ticked to an end. "I am off as soon as I can be and I'd rather not be stuck like this when all these mortal couples get, well, cute."

Mage just nodded as they danced away through the crowd but naturally Adrien and Marinette were oblivious to this as they kept dancing and the hour drew near. No words had been needed as they danced, they knew each other well enough at this point, and this moment was for them and their shared love even if it was at Momo's family's fancy party. It had been a good party and they'd continue to enjoy it after midnight but for now it was their moment as the clock ticked into the last minute.

"It's almost time." Marinette whispered in French with a smile at Adrien as they noticed the time. "Another year in the books."

"Our first full one in this life." Adrien said sticking to French. "There will be many more to come though."

"That there will be, and we will get through them together no matter what." Marinette said as the countdown began. "So, let's ring it in as we always wanted to my love."

"Agreed m'lady." Adrien said.

"…3,2,1, Happy New Year!" The crowd roared and Adrien lent down to capture Marinette's lips with his in a New Year's kiss.

Marinette returned it with enthusiasm as they enjoyed this brief moment of love as the new year was rung in around them. They didn't know what it would bring them in the coming months, they couldn't, and even if they did they wouldn't have focused on it in this moment. This was their moment and they enjoyed it as the next year of their new lives in the age of Quirks began with a kiss.

I think that is a good, sweet, place to end both this chapter and the transition arc off for y'all as we have now come to the end of the gap between the Joint Training arc and the Endeavor Agency arc. Next chapter will be the start of the second work studies with an overview of what to expect in the coming arc that is set during the Endeavor Agency arc though that agency and the events around it won't be shown at all as the focus will be on Marinette and Adrien and what they get up to during the short arc. I had considered doing a chapter based of the Mr. Smiley OVA where Marinette went to the Endeavor Agency at Izuku's request as Lucky Charm might be useful against Mr. Smiley given its nature but decided against it as I couldn't fit it into how that OVA went but I will reference it when the time comes and Izuku's plan. Anyway, that is all I really have for this final, fun, transition chapter so I will leave it off here. As always, if you like it or have any questions please let me know in reviews or PMs, I will try to answer them as best I could and post any questions asked between uploads at the start of the next chapter and do follow and favorite this, so you are alerted to future uploads. Do keep the reviews coming as I like hearing from y'all as you enjoy my work, it motivates me to keep producing the best work I can for y'all to enjoy. Until next time.
