Here it is, the 109th full chapter of Miraculous Quirks released on the right day as promised. We are now well into the short second work study arc and first up is Marinette's big start to her second work study with an interesting team-up before we move onto seeing what Adrien has been up to during his own opening mission. The only thing to really had here is that with this chapter Miraculous Quirks has officially tied my record for most chapters in a single story (109 + the Prologue for 110 in total) as well as becoming the first, as far as I know, 1,000,000 word fic within the Miraculous fandom (normal or crossover) on this site so a big milestone. That is all the administrative stuff I have for now and while there are no review questions to answer there are some clarifications and responses from reviews to make which I will do now. Do keep the reviews coming as I enjoy hearing from y'all. That is all I have for this pre chapter note so that means that it is time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the 109th full chapter of Miraculous Quirks.

Disclaimer: I do not own either of these great works of fiction.

Chapter 109: Selkie Team-Up

"Alright we're almost at the drop off point." Mage said to Marinette as they stood in the back of the low altitude plane. "Once the door opens jump out and aim for the docks where you see people. You should be able to survive the landing but if you are worried you always have Lucky Charm to fall back on."

"I know, I've got this." Marinette said with a nod.

Due to Selkie being located in the Verize Islands to the east of Japan they had to either warp to the location, which they couldn't do without arising suspicion given how uncommon warping was, or get a plane there. Obviously Mage had opted for the later and now they were flying low over the island where Selkie had asked them and the Ryukyu agency to meet him for the briefing on the mission to come.

Marinette was ready for this and excited for the team up even if it meant not doing it with Adrien. He had his own mission to deal with, one involving a wanted international fugitive that had appeared in Japan that he was about to head out on as they'd gotten a call from Fei an hour ago saying that she'd confirmed her quarry's location, and that Adrien and BB were to meet her there that night. That was good and Marinette was looking forward to their shared stories once this was all said and done.

For now, though, she had to put all that out of her mind as the door opened and the wind blew into the plane, but they weren't high enough up to be sucked out. She glanced at Mage who nodded and so without any hesitation Marinette leapt from the plane, she was already in her Ladybug costume and had her bag on her back as she began to freefall down towards the dockyard beneath her. They certainly were low as she could make out the people on it and aimed for them.

Mage for his part just grinned as he too stepped out of the plane and fell to the ground to meet up with the others. A flashy entrance always helped and besides this way the plane didn't have to land.

"Ryukyu, thank you for coming out here with your girls." Selkie said as he greeted Ryukyu with Sirius and three of his male sidekicks standing at attention behind him while Ryukyu had the three U.A. girls who were her work study students with her though only Froppy was personally known to the Sea Rescue hero having done her internship with him. "We need all the help we can get to catch these smugglers."

"If the ship in question is involved with Trigger we can't let it get away." Ryukyu said seriously. "Who knows where it will end up if we allow it to hit the open ocean before we intercept it. I am happy if we can be of help to you in this mission."

"So dependable." Selkie said before he tried to make a cute spotted seal face. "It makes me so happy to hear that!"

It had mixed reactions from the girls. Tsu, Ochaco, and Hado both found it cute while Ryukyu did not. The same was the case with Sirius who was used to her boss's antics by this point, so she just ignored it as she waited for the meeting to move on.

"Haven't changed since my internship I see." Tsu said with a smile at her first hero mentor.

"How are you Froppy?" Selkie said smiling back at the girl. "I see you're doing well for yourself since I last saw you."

"Yep, thanks for all you taught me." Tsu said happy at Selkie's words. "Thanks for taking such good care of me during my internship, I haven't forgotten the lessons and concepts you and Sirius taught me. They're lessons all heroes should know."

"You've certainly grown up and seeing that makes me feel so…moved." Selkie said giving his cute face again that really didn't impress Ryukyu, but Tsu found it adorable.

"I heard that you'd gotten your provisional license Tsu." Sirius said speaking for the first time. "Congrats on that, pretty impressive to get it as a first year. Not many get them to begin with and fewer first years so you should be proud of yourself."

"Thanks Sirius." Tsu said to the older girl.

"You've become a full-fledged hero and now we can see everything that you've learned since your internship." Selkie said. "We're going to need all the help we can get to bring these villains to justice."

"Ribbit." Tsu said as a plane was heard overhead and Selkie looked to it and grinned.

"Shall we start?" Ryukyu asked as she too glanced up to the low flying plane, a lot lower than she'd expected, and then back at Selkie who turned to her.

"In a moment, the last two I requested are about to drop in." Selkie said and his words and grin made Ryukyu instinctively back up as she felt they were literal, and which subsequently caused the girls with her to follow suit with her. "I needed an additional agency to fully ensure that everything is above board, and so that we can move quickly after we catch these smugglers."

"I see, yes they do make sure that we don't have to worry about reporting or anything." Ryukyu said knowing right away which agency would be joining them as the plane passed over head and she noticed that a figure was falling towards them having leapt from it which surprised her a little. "We can hand things off to them once we have the smugglers in custody."

"A third agency?" Ochaco asked confused. "Which one?"

"Look up, I'm sure you can guess based off who's about to arrive." Ryukyu said with a grin as the girls and Sirius did just that. "We are right at the nautical borders of Japan out here so having these guys on board really helps us."

"Huh, I don't…" Ochaco began as she looked up at what was clearly a person diving head first towards them before she saw the blood red outfit the person was wearing. "Oh…"

"Talk about a good backup option." Tsu said with a smile as the figure flipped in the air a few feet above their heads and then landed on one knee on the ground between the groups as if she'd not just leapt out of a plane and landed without assistance. "Ladybug, I wasn't expecting you to be here as well, but we'll take your assistance for sure."

"Woah you are really sturdy." Hado said her eyes wide as Marinette rose from the ground smiling at her friends.

"My constitution helps but it's mainly the costume at that height, the special material really mitigates a fall." Marinette said explained. "Though as you know I can easily leap off a building without an issue."

"Don't I, been a while since I was that badly hurt in training." Hado said though she only really remembered the blow to her jaw that knocked her out that day.

"So, it was Ladybug who got the better of you a while back." Ryukyu said looking at the third U.A. first year girl to join them. "I am not surprised at that, I remember you in the raid, you were quite impressive despite the blood loss."

"I didn't actually realize how bad I was until I deactivated my costume." Marinette said with a slight blush. "But it is a pleasure to work with you again Ryukyu."

At that Marinette bowed her head before she turned to the anthropomorphic seal-like man and bowed deeper to him as she knew he was Selkie, and she should have introduced herself to him first. That had been rude of her.

"And Selkie, thank you for having us." Marinette said seriously. "We will do our best to assist you in bringing these smugglers to justice."

"As I expect from the Guardian Agency." Selkie said. "Now where is your boss?"

"And which Guardian is it?" Ryukyu asked.

"The normal one." A male voice called out and they all looked up to see Mage slowly descending down on what looked like a platform of glass or something similarly transparent, his cape fluttering in the wind. "Sanguina cleared me a few days ago so I'm back to running it."

"Mage, good to see that you are up and active again." Selkie said as the platform vanished, and Mage fell to land on his feet between them. "I see you lot still like your flashy entrances though you've got nothing on the Water Guardian."

"He does like to make a splash when he's in his element." Mage said with a grin as the girls all looked at him confused as to what his Quirk was given what little they'd seen, even Ochaco didn't really understand it and she'd seen it in action once before during their finals at the end of the first semester. "But enough of that, we have some smugglers to catch and then I can take over to learn where they are from and where they are going. We will assist in the capture and then take it from there if their final destination is not Japan."

"Of course, but first, I need you ladies down on the beach." Selkie said in a serious tone.

All the girls tenses up for that and got ready for what was to come. It was certainly not what they expected as they left the dock and went to the beach.

"So, this is why I was told to bring a swimsuit." Marinette said as she walked out onto the beach in a ladybug print bikini that showed off her slender, lithe form but was also made from the same material as her underwear thus allowing her to change quickly should she need to. "Not going to lie, this is pretty fun. Adrien will be jealous when he hears about this."

"This is the best way to recharge your batteries so have fun girls." Selkie said from the street above the beach as Ryukyu and Mage stood to either side of him. "Enjoy the sun, sand and water. As well as a nice barbeque that I've arranged for you to help give you strength for the coming mission."

"Just what are you planning?" Ryukyu asked as the girls, all in bikinis of different colors that really suited their own personal tastes, bottom styles, and frill levels, including Sirius who seemed to be in charge of the festivities, frolicked on the sand and in the water.

"Somehow I feel like this is something I shouldn't be watching." Mage said. "Almost like a tease of fan service or something though at least it's better than those cheerleader outfits back in the Sports Festival."

"I'm letting them have fun and get relaxed for what is to come." Selkie said in response to Ryukyu's question. "The ship won't move until dusk at the earliest, more likely it will be after nightfall, as that is the best way for it to get out of these waters unnoticed. Even if they do get noticed they've got that boosted smokescreen Quirk user with them. It was clear from yesterday that they are professionals, so we won't be taking any chances with them. As such, there is no point in putting the girls on edge until they need to be."

"It is a good lesson to teach them." Mage said as the girls set up a volley ball net and began to play a little though between the Quirks and athleticism of the four U.A. girls it was going to get interesting. "Always good to be relaxed before a mission."

"Correct but we can't be, come on let's go discuss this on the cliff." Selkie said as he led the other agency heads to where he'd had some deck chairs, chilled drinks, and an umbrella set up.

Meanwhile back on the beach Tsu and Sirius went swimming as a barbecue was set up following Marinette's accidently burring of the ball by spiking it too hard into the sand. She was embarrassed by that because she'd forgotten her strength, but it was a nice laugh for them.

"Hey, hey, Dupain-Cheng." Hado said as Marinette created a shovel with her Quirk to dig out the ball so that they could use it later if they wanted. "You're like crazy strong, I felt it in the training exercise in the second before you knocked me out, but I didn't realize until now as you had gravity on your side back then."

"Well I do have an enhanced constitution." Marinette said as she finished digging the ball up and got up to turn to her upperclassman as Ochaco swam out to join Sirius and Tsu. "Benefits of years of Quirk Marriages through the generations in France. It's not the case anymore there but the results speak for themselves."

"I see that does make sense and explains why you have such a powerful Quirk, even Togata was wary of it and that's saying something." Hado said as the shovel vanished. "So versatile and useful but there has to be a cost to such power."

"There is, one can't have a Quirk like mine without some drawbacks on the body." Marinette said confirming Hado suspicions. "I can only use my Quirk because I have an enhanced constitution to withstand the cost of it as the energy needed to create my items and then maintain them isn't something to sneeze at. It's why I have to eat so much to maintain my energy levels as well as a lot of punishing workouts to raise them and allow me to keep my charm active longer."

"So lucky though, you can eat whatever and not get fat." Hado said looking over the younger girl's slim body and noting how muscular it was, seriously it looked like she didn't have any fat on her, before her eyes fixed on the stud glinting in Marinette's navel with a ladybug print pattern on the bottom half. "And it is true, you do have a belly button piercing, I thought so."

"Er, yeah I do, kinda had to get it." Marinette said, she'd long since grown accustomed to her piercing to the point that she felt off without either her Miraculous or at least her spare in but it was still a topic she didn't really like discussing at times. "It's where my costume is stored so I have to have it on me at all times. Technus's costumes use jewelry holders for the nanotech and well this was the easiest option for me."

"So cool and it looks great on you." Hado said as the smell of barbeque reached them. "Oh, the food is ready."

Just like that Hado was distracted and Marinette chuckled, she could use a hearty, protein rich, meal and headed over as the other girls came in to enjoy the beach barbeque. It was a fun; relaxing day and they were all having a good time as they ate and chatted with Sirius about their school lives and her work as Selkie's sidekick. It was just as Selkie had planned to loosen them up for the coming mission.

"I'm glad to see that they are enjoying themselves." Selkie said as he, Ryukyu and Mage settled in on the cliff, the latter two with drinks though only Mage had changed, transforming his costume into a pair of lilac shorts, open buttoned lilac short sleeved shirt, flipflops, and lilac shades as he drank his cocktail in a chair behind them. "It is so peaceful out here, moments like these should be savored and enjoyed."

"I see so that is what this is." Ryukyu said as she put down her drink. "Our jobs can trying as we are constantly forced to confront evil, putting our lives on the line knowing that we or our friends might not come back from a mission, seeing the very worst in people, it's a lot to deal with. Today you wanted the girls to experience peace to motivate them to protect it going forward. I should have guessed as much."

"This should put them in the right mind for what is to come." Selkie said seriously. "That way they can show the villains what they're really made of."

"These are nice moments to relax." Mage said as he sipped his drink lounging in his chair. "But don't worry, I've watched these girls at school, they're all going to bring their all to this mission and then some if it is required of them. I know for certain that Marinette will."

"You do realize how creepy that sounds." Ryukyu said looking back at the relaxed Guardian who didn't seem to have a care in the world, but she knew that he wouldn't hold his rank if he wasn't the same as a top tier national hero, so she knew he'd be ready though her eyes did notice the scar on his gut. "And are you sure that you can fight? You did get run through by a sword a few months ago."

"It didn't hit anything vital, all that happened was that I lost some intestines and that was it." Mage said with a shrug ignoring the earlier comment as he was technically a teacher at U.A. as well so it was perfectly fine for him to have watched the students there as they grew into fine young heroes. "Sanguina patched me up and gave me the all clear. She's back in the States now and I'm ready for some action."

"On that front." Selkie said turning to look at Mage as well. "What can you do in this mission? I know you lot have some hoops to clear before acting."

"Usually but we are on open water dealing with smugglers who likely came from another country, so this is considered to be an international case thus I am fully cleared to engage." Mage said with a grin. "No limitation other than that I can't attack them first. This is why I love working on water, so easy to be within my jurisdiction."

"Good because we will need your power later." Selkie said as he turned to look out to the sea. "Now let's take the advice I've given the girls and relax; this is going to be a tough mission."

Ryukyu nodded while Mage just took a deep pull from his drink and enjoyed the sun. They should be relaxed but he wasn't worried, this was going to be straightforward, he was sure of it. It was the aftermath and where the smugglers were taking their cargo that gave Mage a bad feeling in his gut but that would come in time. First off they could relax before the mission tonight and they all settled in for that as they mentally got ready for what was to come.

"Nejire-Chan and I will search from the sky." Ryukyu said as the sun set, and they all gathered at the dockyard once more as all but Ryukyu and Hado got on Selkie's boat. "Uravity and Froppy will stick with you Selkie."

"Got it." Selkie said from the boat. "Best of luck up there number 10."

"Ladybug, stay with the other girls on the bridge for launch and then join me on the bow with the others but activate your coms device so that you are in communication with us." Mage said and Marinette nodded as she popped out a communication device from her yo-yo and put it in her ear knowing that it would be set to the communal frequency that they were using. "Take us away Selkie."

"Prepare to set sail." Selkie said and the gangplank was pulled up as the ship's crew began to go through their checks.

While this was happening Marinette, Tsu and Ochaco headed to the bridge to stand with Selkie and Sirius at the back of the room. Selkie was the captain, so he had to be here, but he delegated the necessary tasks to his competent and well-trained crew, so it was just a matter of watching them do their work as they got the boat up and running and then at Selkie's order they headed out onto the sea.

"Time for us to get going." Ryukyu said to Hado as they stood on the dock and watched the Oki Mariner leave it and head into the open waters before them. "Ready?"

"Always." Hado said as her boss transformed into her dragon form and took off, her wings spread as she flew out and towards the Oki Mariner to search from above while Hado used her Surge Quirk from her feet to keep up with her boss.

As they flew over the ship they noticed Mage standing on the bow without an issue his cloak whipping in the air behind him as they passed over it while Selkie and the girls came to join him and wish her luck. It was as they were passing that Hado had to ask.

"Ryukyu, can I ask, what exactly is that Mage person's Quirk?" Hado asked as Selkie gave them a sendoff. "It seemed to be a little like Majestic's only more platform based compared to the rings that he creates, and I heard he's called the Guardian of Magic so is it similar?"

"I think Mage sees Majestic's Quirk as a bit amusing as it's not actually magic and it's not actually close to what Mage can do." Ryukyu said as they flew and scanned. "Mage's Quirk is called Magician. It's a little too dramatic of name as I think Transfiguration or Alchemy would be a better name for it seeing as what he can do is transfigure the molecules of one substance into another so long as it is within his range of control and that range is actually classified so only his brethren actually know it. In addition, he can actually mentally control the new items thanks to how hard he's trained his Quirk. From what I've heard it can even work on organic material though he might not have mental control over the those."

"Woah." Hado said her eyes wide as she looked back at the deck and at the man standing there. "That's really powerful."

"It is and he knows how to use it well." Ryukyu said. "And that's not factoring in his combat skills with the blades in his gauntlets, which are his primary tools in battle as he only uses his Quirk when he absolutely has to. To earn the title of Guardian, the rank at the top of their agency, one has to have skills on par with a national top 3 hero. I'm not sure how he'd fair against All Might but I wouldn't be surprised if the current top 3 would struggle to beat him given the natures of their respective Quirks and how well someone like Mage could counter them."

"Damn that's so useful to have." Hado said.

"It would be but part of why the Guardians recruit such power is that their restrictions ensure that such powerful Quirks are used only in the right situations and not abused." Ryukyu said. "But I'm not going to sniff at having him around for this mission. Not only will he be the power behind this operation, but he can deal with all the paperwork afterwards. Now focus Nejire, we have work to do."

"Right." Hado said with a nod as they searched.

Back on the deck Selkie, who had led the girls out onto it once they were out on the open sea, watched the pair leave with a grin knowing that they got this. He then turned to Mage who was still in front of him.

"Alright, Mage, as we discussed." Selkie said.

"Of course, Ladybug, change to your aqua form." Mage said without looking back. "You're in the water with water with Selkie and Froppy for the start. I'll be in communication with you but create an item that will allow you to heard and translate morse code that is being transmitted at a frequency that normal human ears can't hear. Cat Noir knows it, but you don't."

"On it." Marinette said with a nod as the others looked at her in confusion, but she ignored them as she pressed down on one of the black dots on the large center of her belt that Tsu and Ochaco knew was where her costume came from.

There was a ripple as the costume changed going from what they knew it as to a slightly lighter red with a scale like pattern on it like you'd see on a fish, the black spots lessoning in number for some reason but still there only now scales and not circles. Around Marinette's hips a fin-like pattern appeared under the belt there, but the biggest change was to her feet as full-on flippers with a fin-like design shot out of them to their surprise. To complete it, and cover for the fact that the magic in the Miraculous was what actually did it, the costume grew upwards to cover Marinette's mouth and nose where it connected to her mask and covered it with a set of googles over her eyes while gills formed on her neck.

As the others were gapping at the change Marinette raised her hand and created an item with the goal that Mage had suggested. There was a flash of pink and an earpiece fell into her hand that she turned on and affixed to her other ear knowing it would do the job that she wanted it to do.

"What just happened?" Ochaco asked confused.

"After finals the first semester Mage took mine and Adrien's Mir… I mean costumes back to Technus in his base in London to get them improved as we were going to need them upgraded once we got our provisional licenses." Marinette said surprising them again by being able to speak clearly through the face covering. "The tech is still developmental and can only be changed once during an activation at the moment but now I can change my costume to one of 7 different styles to deal with different terrains such as water, ice, fire, and even a vacuum. The tech in this will allow me to breath underwater and keep me warm and pressurized while there and between my natural strength and the suits enhancements I can swim almost as fast as Selkie can now."

"I asked Mage especially if this could be done though I thought it would be her Quirk not her costume, so this is even better." Selkie said impressed at the costume design, but he was aware of how talented the top European support item and costume designer was. "This way we have more in the water as well as the air and on the ship."

"It just means I can only use the underwater feature of the costume." Marinette said. "I can't use the flying option; I'll have to switch to my Quirk if that is needed."

"We have Ryukyu and Nejire-Chan for that but if need been I'll give the order." Mage said. "Now follow Selkie's instructions."

"Yes sir." Marinette said with a nod.

"Alright let's give Ryukyu that backup." Selkie said. "Sirius, Ladybug, keep your ears out for morse code."

"Yes sir." Sirius said with a salute as Marinette nodded once again. "My ears are always sharp."

"Froppy, grab onto my back." Selkie said as he stood up on the railing. "Ladybug take the other side and keep pace with me while protecting our rear."

"Ribbit." Tsu said as Marinette nodded before she leaped off the side and dove into the water, Selkie doing the same on the other side as flippers that were part of his costume flipped into place and Tsu lashing out her tongue to pull herself to him and land on his back as he dove into the water.

From there he began to kick as fast as possible and shot off through the water, Tsu on his back and Marinette falling in behind him as he made clicking noises with his mouth to try and find the smuggler's ship. The hunt was now on and between Selkie in the water, the ship's sonar and the eyes in the sky they knew that they'd find it soon enough.

The plan was simple really. Each of the three teams would take different courses, managed from the ship's radio where Sirius was, her Good Ear Quirk listening out for Selkie's Morse code while also connecting her to Marinette just in case and Ryukyu in the sky via the coms system they had in place. She was the one commanding the search as they scoured the islands for their quarry.

They were searching for several minutes when finally Selkie picked up the hull of a ship leaving a cave with his echolocation. Instantly he swam towards it with Tsu tight to his back and Marinette behind him. Almost instantly he recognized the ship from below and began to let out a high frequency series of clicks in Morse code back to Sirius on the Oki Mariner. They had located the smugglers at point 5-7.

As soon as Sirius heard that she gave the orders to the helmsman on the bridge to set course there and to Ryukyu in the air so that they could all converge on the smugglers. Their radar was jammed but with Selkie and Sirius working together the Oki Mariner didn't need it, so they were able to close in on it with Selkie coming from below and Ryukyu from above. That certainly got to the men on the ship who hadn't expected to be found so quickly.

Of course, these were experienced smugglers who knew what they were doing and had some of their own Trigger on hand for just such a situation. The moment they saw the Oki Mariner on the water and the Dragoon Hero in the sky closing in on them they activated their escape plan and the Smokescreen Villain as Selkie had dubbed him injected himself with some Trigger. The moment it took effect several holes appeared on his body and with a roar he unleased a massive smoke screen that completely covered the ship and a wide range around it.

The biggest effect of the smoke was that it hid the ship from Ryukyu and Hado in the sky and to add to it they released several decoys to fool the Oki Mariner's radar as well. It was a decent plan, but it had worked the night before because Selkie hadn't seen it coming. This time around he was ready for it and was already swimming to the surface, Marinette going for the other side, and ready to breach it and land on the deck with the two girls.

Back on the ship Sirius smiled as all this was going to plan. She got on the radio to connect to the others for what was to come.

"Ryukyu, hold back in the sky and wait until you can see the ship again before lending aid." Sirius said. "The boss, Froppy and Ladybug will board and give the final signal. He doesn't need it but best to show them how out classed they are right now. Mage, does this constitute an attack against us so we can act."

"I say it does, and even if it doesn't I'm sure it won't be too bad all things considered." Mage said as he leapt up into the railing at the bow of the ship and crouched there showing off some impressive balance. "This is child's play for me. These smugglers made the wrong choice trying to pass a nation with an actual Guardian active."

"Good then go and await the boss's order." Sirius said.

Mage didn't need to be told it, but it was easier and would look better in reports so as soon as he was told he launched himself forward and off the bow with enough force to buckle the metal surprising everyone with the strength as few got to actually see him in action. Then they just watched as he seemed to run through the air, small platforms being created as he did, and into the smokescreen before him. He didn't need to see where the ship was, just be inside for it to work even if Gust might get annoyed at him for meddling with his element but such was the nature of Mage's own element.

"Damn it's useful to have one of them on our team." Sirius said from the bridge as she watched Mage run into the mist. "And he's not even one of the strongest of their order, Selkie said the Water Guardian is something else."

Ochaco just nodded as she looked out of the bridge window. Everything was going well but her gut was telling her that more was afoot, and she'd be needed soon enough.

Back in the smokescreen, Selkie, Froppy and Marinette all landed on the deck but only Selkie could actually navigate so he began to use his echolocation. Sure, Marinette could have changed her item to allow for it, but she opted not to for the moment as they were to wait until Selkie had control of the bridge to act.

The sounds of them landing on the deck and the noises that Selkie was making was freaking out the Smokescreen villain and he started yelling about the ship being boarded which got their leader to act with the backup plan that they had in case of such a situation, one that none of the heroes knew about. At least they didn't until a splash was heard as Selkie reached the bridge of the other ship but they all presumed that it was just a cargo dump to avoid being caught with the drugs onboard. Therefore, Selkie just ignored it as he barged into the bridge.

There was a short confrontation with the helmsman who tried to use his Trigger to boost himself and kill Selkie but was overpowered before he could and punched out of one of the windows knocking him out. With that the bridge was taken and that meant that the next stage of their plan was in order.

"I have taken the bridge." Selkie said into the communicator. "Mage, if you will."

"On it." Mage said and from where he was within the dense smokescreen he snapped his fingers, he didn't need to, but it was for dramatic effect. "Let's get rid of this annoyance, shall we."

Suddenly the entire smokescreen vanished as Mage used his magic to make it disappear though to those watching it would look like transformation thus in line with his Quirk. That really freaked out the Smokescreen Villain who was still hopped up on Trigger as he looked around in panic.

"What just happened?" He yelled as he frantically looked around now that the ship was visible and one of his comrades already down on the deck near him. "Where'd my smoke go?"

"I made it vanish." Mage said causing the man to turn and blink at the hero who was seemingly standing on air several feet away and a little above the ship wearing a lilac cloak with the hood up. "But I'm not the one you should be concerned about, I'm just the fancy distraction. Any good magician knows that the trick is where you can't see it."

The villain didn't get a chance to say anything more as Marinette launched her yo-yo at him, she'd reverted back to her normal costume when she'd landed and stayed still until the smoke was dissipated and then run to find the villain that had created it. The moment she did she threw her yo-yo at him and ensnared him with it, pinning his arms to his sides before she yanking him back to her with a yelp of surprise from the man which was cut short as she punched his lights out the moment he reached her. His limp, unconscious body fell to the deck, and she yanked her yo-yo back to her.

Of course, that was the moment that they heard the roar of engines that weren't ones you'd hear on a ship, and all turned to see a plane moving away from all of them as it used special floats to take off from the sea. It was a standard cargo plane so couldn't land on the sea again, but it began to move away and take off. It was clearly their emergency escape plan, and the last villain was on it as he piloted it and took to the sky with it and the cargo that they were smuggling.

"I'm on it." Tsu said as she ran to the railing and leapt off sending her tongue at it to try and catch it.

"No Froppy." Selkie said. "It's too dangerous. Ryukyu, Mage, after them."

"I can't fly, and I don't have the speed to catch it." Mage pointed out as Ryukyu took off and Tsu fell into the sea. "But don't worry, we got this."

Marinette understood and she ran after Tsu and before Selkie could say anything followed the example that her friend had set by leaping into the air from the railing while tossing aside her Lucky Charm earpiece and dismissing it. The biggest differences between her actions and Tsu's though were that she got out farther and her Quirk was better suited for this.

"One Woman Army, flight mode!" Marinette yelled as she activated Lucky Charm to create her mech suit.

There was a flash of pink all around Marinette and as she began to fall a mech suit appeared around her only this one was tailored for flight and pursuit not combat. It was slimmer, sleeker, and above all had thrusters in the feet and from a pack on her back allowing her to rocket off after the fleeing plane that was now outpacing Ryukyu, her heads-up display in the helmet giving her the data she needed though she didn't really understand it.

"I can't match their speed." Ryukyu roared as she tried to follow it. "Engines can produce more power than my wings can."

"Damn it, we should have had them locked down." Selkie said punching the side of the ship he was on as Mage made his way to him.

"Don't worry, I can and I'm sure that thing won't work well with a hole in it." Marinette said through the coms as she shot after while Tsu, who had resurfaced, just looked up in amazement at her friend streaking through the sky after the plane. "Though I'm not sure how long it will take me to reach it."

"Captain, it's not in your nature to give up." Sirius's voice said over the chat. "We also have a plan to reach the plane from here. Uravity, you ready."

"Yup." Ochaco said as she floated in the air holding onto the end of one of the harpoon guns on the Oki Mariner.

"Let's have another beach day after this." Sirius said. "With barbeque."

"I can't wait." Ochaco said with a smile before she set herself for what was to come.

"Alright here we go." Sirius said as she fired the harpoon sending a weightless Ochaco at the plane.

With Ochaco's weightlessness she could fly as fast as she was tossed, and the harpoon gun gave her that speed to get out far and fast after the plane. It was still too fast for her, only Marinette seemed to have the speed to actually catch it, but the Oki Mariner had a better angle on the plane and Ochaco was calm in the air as she focused her newest support item, another inspiration from Deku, and aimed it at the plane. She had to be calm and not rush this like before, but she had it and she let out a sigh as she blasted out a weightless wire from one of the gauntlets on her wrist.

The idea to use them as a way to travel fast in the air when she used her Quirk on herself, along with other plans for it, had come from seeing the nature of Deku's new power, something she hoped that he could get under control soon, and how it might be of use to her. This was the first true test of it, and it worked like a charm, shooting out and latching onto one of the wings of the plane. The end had a weight to allow it and actually worked a little like Marinette's yo-yo when she used it though Ochaco hadn't actually gotten any inspiration from her French friend on that front for it.

Regardless, it was working, and she used the mechanism to reel herself in as the plane flew away from them. She had no fear and easily reached it, glad to see that in the villain's rush he'd not closed the door to the plane and quickly pulled herself into it before canceling her Quirk.

All the villain managed to get out was a startled 'what' before she was on him making him weightless and then using her Quirk and martial arts training in combination for her latest ultimate move, Gravity Plus, to slam the villain to the deck of the plane as hard as she could manage it. She had the villain now and knocked him out to end their smuggling.

It was a good thing but as Ochaco stood the plane suddenly tipped and she remembered that she was on a damned plane and had to get it under control. She had no idea how to fly a plane, but she had to try as she sat in the pilot's seat and grabbed the yoke to get the thing under control. At least she tried but she had no clue what she was doing and quickly it was falling.

"Uravity, pull back on the yoke!" Selkie yelled into the coms. "Pull it level and slow it down so that we can reach you and help land it."

"It's not working." Ochaco said as she tried but the plane continued to fall.

"It must have stalled on her." Sirius said. "This isn't good, it's going to crash."

"Ochaco get out." Tsu said. "Save yourself."

"I can't, if I let it crash then the cargo will leak into the ocean." Ochaco said as she fought with the controls. "If the chemicals in here get into the ocean it will ruin the ecosystem for decades at least and we can't let that happen. Not to mention that this is evidence of their smuggling, we have to preserve it."

"Make the plane weightless then." Ryukyu said as she flew to the plane as its propellers stuttered before one of them gave out entirely. "That will prevent it from crashing and allow us to get there to assist."

"You want me to float an entire plane?" Ochaco exclaimed as she fought with the yoke. "Something this big would be near impossible for me to do so…"

Before Ochaco could finish she saw a blur of red shoot out from beneath the plane and turn to her as it kept flying through the air to get a good lead on the plane. It was Marinette in her mech suit, and she was flying out to get in front of the plane before she turned and the suit sparkled more as it got bigger, bigger than Ochaco had ever seen it get before as it was now about the size of Ryukyu in her dragon form if not bigger, stronger, and bulkier with larger hands and more powerful engines in the legs and back. Ochaco just blinking at that, seriously her friend's Quirk was really something else entirely.

"Don't give up Ochaco." Marinette voice said over the coms and even from the cockpit she could see a look of steely determination in Marinette's blue eyes, a look that she'd only ever seen in Deku's green ones, the look of a pro who truly knew how to save people and it reminded Ochaco not just of Marinette's experience but of how much she drew from the person she admired most in the world and who she loved with all her heart. "You can do it and I'll help stabilize you so that you can focus on making it float. We are U.A. student's we go Plus Ultra. Remember who's in your heart, use that to focus."

"Nejire, help steer them." Ryukyu said just as stunned by the change in the mech that the other girl had done, she'd read about Lucky Charm and it's assessment, even seen this aspect of it before, but this was a level beyond what she'd expected from the foreign girl.

"On it." Hado said as Ryukyu fell back to use her wings to create a powerful gust of air that would send Hado towards the ship as she charged up her Quirk. "Full charge release at 90, Nejire Wave!"

At that Hado send out a large wave of her energy at the plane just as Marinette dropped down and let the nose slam into her mech. Even in the armor suit she could feel it shake her body, it was a damned plane after all, but she grunted through it and pressed on going plus ultra as she held her Quirk at what seemed to be its limit for the moment and dug the metal fingers of the suit into the plane and kicked the legs of the suit out behind her. Between that and the wave she was able to angle the jets in her feet and back to twist the plane to get it level despite its stall and began to push against it to slow it down.

This was Ochaco's chance, and she roared her defiance as she pressed all 10 digits against the dashboard and activated her Quirk in both hands. Marinette and Hado had given her this chance and she wasn't going to give up. It was what Deku would do, what Marinette, Tsu and all her friends would as well and she drew on their strength and aid as she got the plane to float, blasting past her limit in the process, and between her and Marinette slowing it down enough for Ryukyu to land on the top of it with her claws and take it from there.

That was it for both Ochaco and Marinette though Ochaco kept the thing weightless as her stomach churned knowing what was about to happen as the side effect of her Quirk kicked in. Marinette however had no such chance, and she was also outside the plane. Her ultimate move always pushed the limits of her Quirk and between that and the change she'd gone past them and then some so when the plane was safely in Ryukyu's grasp she couldn't maintain it anymore and the entire mech fell away in a flash of pink and Marinette fell back to the ocean below her as the plane passed over her head.

Thankfully Hado had seen this and swooped in to catch her in her arms just before Marinette would have hit the water and carried like a princess up into the air surprised at how light the younger girl was. As she did this Ryukyu helped the plan to land on the water where it could remain until it was sorted by Mage who had the power to at least mend it so that the evidence could be preserved.

"Shame you're not Adrien." Marinette muttered in Hado's arms as her vision blurred and she faded out of consciousness from all the energy she'd just burnt up using her power. "Thanks for the save, I needed…"

That was all Marinette got out before the overexertion of her Quirk, something she hadn't actually done before, hit her and she passed out in Hado's arms. Still, they'd done it and Hado called it in as Ryukyu transformed back to normal and went into the plane to check on a now throwing up Ochaco who was also well past her limit.

"We did it!" Hado reported in as she carried Marinette back to the Oki Mariner as that was where those in need of medical attention would get it. "The plane is fine, Ryukyu's on it. Uravity is a little green in the gills though and Ladybug is unconscious but otherwise their fine. Also, Ryukyu said that she got the cargo. Uravity was right, these are the chemicals used to make Trigger so isn't the mission complete? Woah we did it!"

Hado was right, they had done it and quickly the Oki Mariner and Mage made it to the plane to secure it and then haul it in while Marinette was taken to the infirmary on the Oki Mariner and given an IV to replenish her energy and Ochaco was given something for her nausea. The rest was a simple clean up and healing on the main island over that nigh as the mission ended as a complete success.

"Based on lengthy police questioning, it seems that the smugglers were just couriers and not bringing the product into Japan." Selkie said the next day as the girls enjoyed another beach day barbeque with extra food as Marinette had to eat a lot to fully recover and unlike the other girls she was just sitting in a sun chair eating as she didn't have the strength to play with them just yet. "Their bad luck that they crossed our paths and that a Guardian was here but that was our good fortune."

"Where were they going?" Ryukyu asked as the leaders relaxed on the cliff like before.

"That's the thing, they didn't know where the drugs were going to end up." Selkie said. "The person who ordered their transport also gave them a fake name as well so there isn't much to go on regarding who or what organization they were intended for as well."

"I see." Ryukyu said with a sigh. "Anything though?"

"There was one thing yes." Selkie said looking to Mage. "We may not have known precisely where the drugs would end up in the end, but we do know that the smugglers were heading for Otheon. That was where they were to offload their cargo and get the rest of their payment."

"Otheon?" Ryukyu asked confused as she too looked to Mage who was as usual just lounging where he was in the same attire as he had been when they'd been here the day before. "That's a country in Europe if I recall, one of the post Quirk Wars countries that popped up as a result of them, so your back yard in a sense."

"Europe isn't exactly small and my time there has been in Denmark, England, and France." Mage said as he sipped his drink. "But Otheon is an English-speaking nation at the southwestern edge of the Celtic Sea on an island with the neighboring country of Klayd so it's in the area of Europe that I know well. It's actually an artificial country made by dissidents from France, Spain, and Portugal during the early Quirk Wars that ravaged Europe. It got embroiled in them though and England invaded to try and stabilize it but, well, that sparked the Home Nation's War that broke up England for good as well as the war of Irish Unification. Once the dust settled Otheon and Klayd were formed with a strange mix of French and Iberian culture that spoke English."

"The Quirk Wars were really something else." Ryukyu said. "We don't really think much about them as we are in an era of peace, but they really ravaged the world back in the early decades after the Advent."

"Yeah and Europe loves a good war unfortunately, so it was only a matter of time before Quirks caused one there." Mage said with a sigh. "Once it was all sorted out things kinda went back to normal, but Ireland was now unified and Europe had 4 new independent nations in Scotland, Wales, Catalan and Basque while England maintained the role and power of Great Britain only somewhat diminished following the loss of the other home nations. Things are stable now and all, but England joined the EU, England refused not that the EU would ever take them back after some pre-Advent shit that I won't get into, and it's all good now. Still, the fact that they were heading to Otheon doesn't bode well."

"We don't know what they were planning on doing once they reached Otheon, but it is a gateway into Europe that is less of a hassle than trying to move through England from what I've heard." Selkie said. "That's no longer and issue for us now is it?"

"It still is for me." Mage said. "This is now officially and international case and under our jurisdiction and lead. I'll finish up the work here before passing it onto the Master to decide how best to allocate our resources in this matter. As they were heading to Europe we can act swiftly and decisively. Europe has the second highest Guardian presence after North America, we know it well as many of us are European."

"What will you lot do about this?" Ryukyu asked. "I mean the European based ones that is."

"Not sure, that's really up to the Master." Mage said. "But I'll contact the heads of the offices in London, Paris, and Rome, all three are run by Guardians with Rome being the base of one of the most senior of our order, so that they can act right away to be on the lookout for what is going on and to investigate Otheon itself."

"Do you have a presence in Otheon?" Selkie asked.

"No but we have a small office in Klayd to monitor the island as it can be a place that smugglers use to move their illicit wares." Mage said. "But even then we won't use that office. This will likely be handled by a different Guardian, one who specializes in infiltration thanks to his Quirk, to ascertain the situation on the ground there. I'll also have our major offices in Europe, those in Berlin, Athens, and Moscow, as well as our ones in Cairo, Jerusalem, Istanbul, and even as far as Riyad to up their activities regarding Trigger smuggling. Only Moscow and Athens have actual Guardians based there but the others are run by competent men and women."

"See this is why having you on hand was so useful." Selkie said as he got ready for another cute moment. "So, I guess it's all well that ends whale."

At his pun Selkie gave a cute face to the other two. Both just stared at him before deciding to be brutally honest with the Sea Rescue hero as he really needed to know the truth of how his antics came off to them.

"It's not as cute as you think it is." Ryukyu said.

"Not at all and leave the puns to the Pussycats, they understand them." Mage agreed.

"Yeah I've come to realize that it's not working." Selkie said with a sigh. "No matter. Peaceful days pass too quickly in our line of work so let's enjoy this while we can."

"You don't know the half of it." Mage muttered but they weren't listening as they all looked out to the girls and Sirius playing in the water and having fun not that Mage would elaborate more on what he meant.

He just joined them in looking out over the girls and smiled at the fun they were having as he thought on what the mission had revealed. He knew in his gut that this Otheon connection was not good and would lead to something but that wasn't for him to worry about, that was for those based in Europe to deal with.

Mage had his stuff here and preparing Marinette and Adrien for what was to come in Japan. Things were about to change for sure so they all had to be ready for what to come but days like these should be savored and Mage just watched the girls enjoy it and hoped that Adrien and Fei's mission went as well as theirs had as his time in the Verize Islands came to an end.

Well, there it is, the team up with Selkie only this time with Marinette thrown in as well to help out. I know that this episode, an anime exclusive one if I recall, was used to help promote the third film but that won't be addressed in Miraculous Quirks. Rather, I one day, after all this is done, do plan to do the three films as their own individual stories with Adrien and Marinette as part of them but I don't have the time to do so right now so y'all will have to wait for those to come one day. As Otheon is a fictitious country on a fictitious island I did have to take some liberties with it and the whole European Quirk Wars to flesh it out as I will be doing with other things that aren't covered in the MHA universe as y'all will see again next week. Other than that, there really isn't much else to say about this fun chapter that showed the kind of stuff that is going on during the second work studies. Next up is Adrien's mission which is going to be at least two chapters long so stay tuned for that in a week's time. As always, if you like it or have any questions please let me know in reviews or PMs, I will try to answer them as best I could and post any questions asked between uploads at the start of the next chapter and do follow and favorite this, so you are alerted to future uploads. Do keep the reviews coming as I like hearing from y'all as you enjoy my work, it motivates me to keep producing the best work I can for y'all to enjoy. Until next time.
