Here it is, the 110th full chapter of Miraculous Quirks released on the right day as promised. It is time to move onto Adrien's two chapter arc for the second work study and cover the rest of the Endeavor Agency arc as it is a nice and short one so there really isn't much more to say about this chapter. The one thing to mention here, however, is that with this chapter Miraculous Quirks has officially become my longest story in terms of chapters so a big milestone for it especially as whenever this story ends there is probably only one story that I have just started to release with the potential to surpass it in the long run. Anyway, that is all the administrative stuff I have for now and while there are no review questions to answer there are some clarifications and responses from reviews to make which I will do now. Do keep the reviews coming as I enjoy hearing from y'all. That is all I have for this pre chapter note so that means that it is time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the 110th full chapter of Miraculous Quirks.

Disclaimer: I do not own either of these great works of fiction.

Chapter 110: Fugitive Briefing

Adrien walked down one of the corridors of the Guardian Agency as he headed to the small conference room that he'd been asked to go to for his upcoming briefing regarding his current assignment for the Agency. He'd just said goodbye to Marinette as she and Mage headed out on the team-up mission that Selkie had asked of them, so it was just him in the Agency with the various sidekicks and administrative staff that worked here.

While they were away, Adrien was to help out on a different mission that Fei was leading regarding a wanted fugitive from the US who had somehow ended up in Japan and who Fei was currently tracking as she waited for an opportunity to try and capture her with Adrien's help at least. As such Adrien was going to be briefed on the target and what to expect as they waited for news from Fei on where the villain had ended up after arriving in Japan.

Naturally Adrien was wearing his hero costume for this as he was technically on duty right now though he didn't have his mask or support item on, they were on his belt for when he needed them. This was just a briefing after all, so he didn't think that he'd need them but it was good to have them just in case it turned out that Tokyo was where the fugitive ended up so he could act quickly, or he had to act in another emergency that struck the area that he was currently in.

Still, Adrien was intrigued by this as the last time they'd been on a work study they hadn't dealt with an international fugitive that had to be apprehended. Marinette got the smuggler side that the Guardian Agency dealt with for her mission and now Adrien had the fugitive which was the other major thing the Agency dealt with so he was looking forward to seeing how it would go down. It all started with this briefing and as he opened the door to the small conference room he was greeted by who he'd expected to be there.

"Ah Cat Noir, good to see that you are on time." A blonde man with mismatched eyes and wearing a simple pair of sweatpants and a baggy top said to Adrien as he walked in and gestured to a seat at the table. "Please, we have a lot to get through and we don't know when the sidekick on the ground will contact us to move out so best to get this over with as soon as possible so you have all the context that you need when we leave for this mission."

"Of course." Adrien said with a nod at Ben the male half of the strange American sidekick as he closed the door and sat at the small table with a projector device in the center of it. "So, how does this kinda thing work? Tracking and capturing an international fugitive that is."

"This one is a little different to most fugitive apprehensions in the sense that we actually had our sights on her from before she even set foot on Japanese soil." Ben said. "Usually, we just get a report that they are in the country and have to find them but this one is one we've been tracking ever since she fled the US, but she's slipped our nets and disappeared for a while many times mainly due to her penchant for utter destruction when cornered and she has no regard for human life. Still, when we get a sighting we can track her and the sidekick tracking her from China was able to confirm she made it to Japan as you well know. As such we have eyes on her and are waiting for the right moment to confront her which gives us the advantage."

"That is good." Adrien said. "But if she's escaped before this won't be easy, will it?"

"No, it won't, and this woman is a must capture." Ben said his voice harder than Adrien had ever heard it before. "Because there are few villains like her seeing as she's, well not a true fallen hero, but she was once a hero course student in America who turned to villainy after she had her provisional license permanently revoked and banned from ever becoming a hero following an investigation into her actions during a notable incident about a decade ago."

"That doesn't sound good." Adrien said. "So, what can you tell me about her?"

"Well, this is the last known appearance of her which was taken during her time in Indonesia about 5 months ago." Ben said and Adrien saw him pull out a remote and turn on the device in the center of the table. "She's not really changed much in the last 15 years since I knew her so she's not going to be hard to spot especially if she goes to a part of this country where there's not a high western expat population to blend in with."

Adrien noted that there was some personal connection between Ben and this villain, but he decided to focus on the image as it flickered and revealed the head and shoulders of a woman who looked to be in her early 30s for the moment before asking him about it. The woman had long, chestnut brown hair that was tied in a tight French braid at the back and cold orange eyes that seemed to glow and were a contrast to her very pale complexion. She would have been attractive had it not been for the coldness in her eyes, and they made Adrien shudder as they were the eyes of someone who had no remorse for her actions.

"You know her, don't you." Adrien said as he studied the image before him. "From America before you came here that is."

"Yes we were freshmen together during my sole year at an American high school." Ben said the hardness still there. "Beth even fought her in a training exercise once but I will get into how the top tier schools there work in a moment as it is relevant because that very system and the nature of our class in particular are what made this woman the way she is."

"It is?" Adrien asked.

"The American system, at least for the top 5 high schools there, each of which is on par with U.A. in their own right, are different to others." Ben said. "It's why the American system is both one of the best and one of the toughest ones to graduate from out there, at least it is for the top-level schools. It all came up in the wake of the Quirk Wars to ensure that heroes there are strong enough to deal with the villains that are in the world and America's gung-ho nature added to it. While they do have a good mental health evaluation system there, people like this woman can slip through the cracks due to various reasons and then snap when it all comes crashing down though for her they failed long before that."

"They did?" Adrien asked. "How?"

"They failed to notice how ruthless she was in her training exercises or how her 'kills' of robots that were to simulate villains was well above what it should have been." Ben said. "Here killing a villain short of an S-Rank one is not allowed, America has a more loose sense of self-defense, and she took it a little too far. That said there are reasons for why she wasn't stopped earlier that I will get into when they are right as they are more personal theories of mine."

"That's not good." Adrien said though he decided not to press on the theories until Ben was willing to share them.

"No, it's not and they really shouldn't have let her continue when it was apparent she wasn't going to learn, but they didn't and so she continued in her studies until she finally did something that ensured that she'd never be a hero." Ben said. "And that is what caused her to snap."

"I see." Adrien said. "So, who is she and how'd she end up becoming a villain?"

"Her real name is irrelevant; she foreswore it when she committed her first act of villainy and since then no one has every bothered to use it, so I don't see the need to do so as well." Ben said. "Since then, she's gone by the moniker Empress Boombastic, but I'll just call her Boom as it is easiest and doesn't play into her massive ego and unparalleled narcissism."

"Boom?" Adrien asked. "So, she has a sound-based Quirk than. With a name like that I can't really think of what else her Quirk might be."

"Yes and it's not just any sound based power, it's the considered to be the second strongest sound-based Quirk ever recorded in the United States being the Guardian of Sound herself." Ben said. "It's why she was admitted to the top hero school in America and lasted all the way to senior year in the most competitive hero course system in the world and above that she was in what many consider to be, if not the greatest, the strongest hero class in American history in terms of raw talent. That is how strong her Quirk is and why she's such a problem for us."

"Huh?" Adrien asked. "I'm a little confused, why does it matter that she made it all the way to senior year? Surely she would have anyway unless she withdrew or was expelled, right?"

"The American system is different as I said, and it was part of why I left because I could see that I'd likely not make the cut in the long run and that U.A. was a better fit for me." Ben said. "Beth can function anywhere but here we maximized our strength in a way I don't think we could have achieved in America and as I was more at home in Japan due to my interests it really help mend my relationship with Beth so that we could move forward as a team, but I digress. Boom's Quirk is called Sound Control and it's what it, pardon the pun, sounds like. She has control over any sound that is made within her vicinity, and we still don't know exactly what her effective range is."

"Wait really?" Adrien asked as he processed the nature of a Quirk like that. "That sounds pretty bad, not pardoning the pun there."

"There are some limitations to it thankfully." Ben said. "For example, she can only increase the sound and weaponize it if she creates the sound herself by using her own body as a conduit for it. Still, she can manipulate sound around her to hear things and her hearing is well above human average so she can listen in on anything within her range. She can even redirect sound waves made around her so that others can't hear but she can only increase the volume or power in sonic like bursts if she makes the sound herself."

"So, like she can clap her hands and suddenly there will be a blast of sound." Adrien said and Ben nodded at his words.

"Correct though she prefers snapping her fingers or clicking her tongue to claps unless she wants to use a lot of power as the louder the base of the sound the stronger she can amplify it." Ben said. "At least for overwhelming offensive power, she tends to bombard sound attacks on people to defeat them but her subtler arts, which she likes to use whistling for, that is when she is at her most dangerous in a fight because she can target your eardrums directly with it. We will be wearing specialized helmets to prevent that; they are a must for dealing with her. They also have a full internal coms systems that Sonic, the Sound Guardian, herself created to ensure that no sound escapes from them."

"Sounds complex." Adrien said.

"It is but we've been after this girl for a decade, and she's killed countless civilians and about a dozen or so heroes in that time, often during apprehension attempts so we have to be careful around her." Ben said. "Well, the civilian deaths have been during those attempts as she has a habit of targeting heroes due to her hatred of them after her perceived grievances against the system. However, even that isn't the worst problem with her whistling as at least that can be planned for. No, the worst aspect of it is the fact that she can use it to move by echolocation similar to how Selkie can use his Quirk to navigate with it."

"Somehow that doesn't surprise me." Adrien said. "So basically, between that and her hearing it's near impossible to sneak up on her and she can escape without her eyes after creating enough chaos and destruction to flee which only adds to everything going on."

"Pretty much and she has no qualms causing as much damage as possible." Ben said. "It's why we need to plan and strategize when we meet up with the sidekick for how to take her out though Mage has assured me that the sidekick on the ground, who will lead this mission, knows what she's doing so we should expect a plan already in the works when we rendezvous with her."

"Why is she here though?" Adrien asked. "She's American, right? So why is she in Japan."

"Pretty much she's been forced here as the Guardian Agency has been hunting her ever since fled America 8 years ago which was two years after she didn't handle her disciplinary hearing where she had all chances of becoming a hero revoked and was looking at some pretty serious jail time." Ben said. "And that stems back to the American system and that class in particular."

"You mentioned it." Adrien said deciding that now was the time to get some answers on how that system worked. "So, what is the system there?"

"There are two systems really." Ben said. "The first is the normal one that is like it is here and elsewhere in the world where you go to high school for 4 years to study the system, get a provisional in your junior year, do work studies, and then join an agency after graduation, providing you meet all the requirements along the way and earn your licenses that is. At least that's the normal way of doing it but then there are the Top 5 schools, and they do things differently."

"5 schools on par with U.A. or Francois Dupont." Adrien said. "Right? You did say they were equivalent to U.A. and I know my old school is on that level as well hence why I was allowed to take the special transfer exam."

"Correct, they are the oldest hero courses in America and the only ones who use this system as the other schools were formed to avoid it when it became clear that that system was becoming outdated." Ben said. "They are located in New York, Florida, Texas, Illinois, and California for context and when I was there I went to the Texas one with Boom and which at the time was the top ranked of the 5 though now it's the Florida one, and they do things differently."

"How so?" Adrien asked.

"It's a cutoff and cutthroat system designed to produce the best of the best, those who are routinely in the American top 10 heroes and who are used for sorting out the major incidents are almost always graduates from one of the T5 schools." Ben said. "Graduation from one of the T5 as they are known as is an all but guarantee to land you top level sidekick and fast track you to your own personal hero agency down the road but only 10 students at each school graduate each year. Bear in mind that the freshman classes there range from 50 to 100 students depending on the number of applicants who reach the talent threshold for initial admission."

"Wait really?" Adrien asked. "That's insane."

"It is but it was done back after the Providence Accords to ensure that the early heroes were held to a high ethical and professional standard while keeping the numbers small to avoid flooding the nation with heroes who may not be up to snuff." Ben said. "Over time as society adapted to this the need for such a system became archaic but they kept it because of its historic importance and, well, those who do graduate from these schools are top class heroes. The current America no. 1 hero, Stars and Stripes, is an exception I believe but for the most part they graduate from one of these schools."

"I see, that does make sense I guess." Adrien said as he thought on Ben's words. "So how do they work, there has to be a system to whittle it down like that."

"There is and I did survive the first year but U.A. always looks to the freshman classes for potential transfers and I took the chance when offered it knowing that Beth could pass the special transfer exam." Ben said. "But of the 63 who started with me, 28 of them would advance to sophomore year. I was on track to be given a spot in the sophomore class, but I'd also gotten an offer from U.A. so I left before the end of the year to come here as U.A. started earlier due to the school year differences. The first year is all about cutting out the excess, many of whom continue their journeys at other schools as those schools will take washouts from the T5 without an issue. The ones who don't usually go into Quirk sports but that's a different field entirely."

"If you can at least get into one of them then you have to have talent, so I get that." Adrien said deciding to not both asking about Quirk sports as that was well beyond his understanding right now. "And if you still want to be a hero then you have other options out there."

"That is the logic and many washouts become fine heroes in their own rights." Ben said with a nod. "But for the 28 who advance you really get the idea that you could make the final 10 if you can stick it out and grow within the system. The second year is all about teamwork, you are in teams of 7 for hero work."

"To teach you how to work in an agency for when you graduate." Adrien said understanding it. "Clever and does explain why we've had a few teamwork exercises this year."

"Precisely, heroes often work in teams so teaching it early makes a lot of sense and that is the same year as Japanese schools start so America is 4 years to Japan's 3." Ben said. "Of that 28 who make it to sophomore year, 20 make it to junior year during which the focus is on getting a provisional, work studies, and working to handle multiple opponents."

"Because villains work in teams as well." Adrien said recalling the Hassaikai raid well. "So, it makes sense to know how to fight them as well."

"Exactly." Ben said with a nod. "And of those 20, 15 make it to senior year where the focus is work studies, self-improvement, ethics, and recruitment for when you graduate. 10 will graduate from that 15 that started their senior year."

"What happens to the other 5?" Adrien asked.

"If there are 5 and due to the specifics of the training there some do actually realize hero life isn't for them as it gets realistic in senior year, then they have two options if they wish to become heroes." Ben said. "Apply to repeat their senior year but you are up against the 20 from the junior year at the time for the 15 spots that are available, or they can transfer to a special 1-year program that lower tier schools offer which is an all but lock to graduate but they will always be known as having failed to graduate from a T5, so few take that path. Unfortunately, there are those who think that they should have graduated when they didn't and get disillusioned with the hero system which isn't good."

"That sounds like what happened to this Boom person." Adrien said. "She didn't graduate and lashed out because of it."

"She's different and I will get into her actual crime in a moment, but you aren't technically wrong in relation to her." Ben said. "Over the years she's recruited several who failed to graduate by playing on their broken egos and arrogance that they should have graduated to turn them against the system by blaming the system for their failures. These people can't accept responsibility for their own failure so look for someone to blame and Boom gives them that someone."

"It does seem like the kind of message that would be seductive to a certain person." Adrien said. "And she'd have a decent pool to work with in that regard."

"She did during her early years as a villain, and she started off with her own class because her number 2, who we caught in the biggest attempt to date to apprehend her when we tracked her to Caracas 4 years ago, was one of the 2 who failed to graduate that year, excluding Boom and two dropouts that is." Ben confirmed. "Boom though, she's different."

"I've gathered." Adrien said. "So, what happened to turn her down this path? She made it to senior year from what I've gathered but then what."

"She made to senior year at the Texas school, the number 1 school in America at the time, and in a class of unparalleled talent as I've said." Ben said. "I should know as I was in that class an oh boy did it have some talent for sure, but I won't get into the specifics because that's irrelevant to what made the class so strong. No, what made them strong was their utter lack of hesitation when it came to field work and would do anything to win. It is like your class at U.A., they faced some serious villain threats due to a separatist movement and a major conspiracy around that time, so they learned early on to never hesitate. Add in that one of their class died junior year during their work studies and it reinforced their goals."

"Something like that would do it." Adrien agreed though he was glad that no one in their class had yet died during any of their villain encounters but he wasn't naïve enough to not know that it could happen especially after Sir Nighteye's death. "So, they became efficient at being heroes because of it."

"They were ruthless in their determination to win no matter the cost, though the fact that one of the best and strangest healers was in their class added to it, and their class garnered several nicknames for it." Ben said. "But the nickname that stuck was Class of Horrors because of that no matter the cost mentality."

"And Boom was one of these people?" Adrien asked unsure what else to say to Ben's words.

"She was and while she wasn't the most dangerous, at least 4 others in that class had more dangerous Quirks including one who's like that Fei girl in our agency as he's specially tapped to go after S-Rank threats." Ben said. "However, those 4, all of whom graduated, knew that they should only kill when necessary and no other choice, in fact the special one was the kindest boy I knew back then and will do all he can to avoid using his Quirk but if he has to, well let's just say he could bring down Beth if he wanted to. I don't mean immobilize like you lot did last work study either but full on render her unconscious."

"Damn." Adrien said his eyes wide. "That strong?"

"Yeah he was a real monster in terms of power." Ben said. "Good guy though. However, Boom wasn't so restrained. She was always one to go for lethal force first if she deemed it necessary and was very fast and loose with her powers."

"Surely that would have been stopped." Adrien said. "Or taught out of her."

"I think it was the latter that kept her in the program when she should have been cut earlier, at least that's my theory as to why she was kept in despite her restraint issues." Ben said. "The logic was likely that she could be taught control and that her raw power had enough of an upside to keep her in the program though I think there was some worry that a lower tier program couldn't handle her. Whatever the case, she wasn't going to graduate with that class, that much was clear, but it was right before graduation when it happened and, well, she ensured that she'd never become a hero."

"What happened?" Adrien asked.

"It was the culmination of a three-year investigation that uncovered a deep conspiracy that rocked the American hero world as well as the government and certain notable support businesses there though not the support item one at least." Ben said. "Basically, some insane mega billionaire was manipulating the system for some personal reasons regarding his late son or something, I'm not sure of the details, but it was bad."

"I bet." Adrien said. "With that kind of money, well, a lot can be possible if it is misused."

"Very true though he was the only billionaire who really did it, others ended up pitching in to help clean up the mess he caused." Ben said. "Thankfully the while affair was uncovered but it wasn't a smooth operation and the result was a massive, pitched battle between the billionaire and his forces and several hero agencies along with the entire senior class from Texas and the Big 3 students at the other T5 schools who were work study students with them somewhere in the American great plains. What made this worse was that there was an amplifier with the billionaire."

"Amplifier?" Adrien asked. "Like that drug Trigger?"

"Worse because it was all natural." Ben said shaking his head. "The leader of the separatist movement at the time, the one responsible for the death of one of that school's student's the year prior, had a Quirk called Maximum Potential and it was a Quirk that amplified another human's Quirk to the maximum that that human's body could withstand. Not attain mind you, the level of amplification was such that it was impossible to train a Quirk to that level, but it did get you to the very limit of what your body could handle. It was how he got followers because his power was like a drug to those it was used on."

"That sounds bad in the hands of a villain." Adrien said.

"It was and despite the man having been capture before that battle, the billionaire freed him to ensure it was on their side." Ben said. "So, an amplification like that would make a normal villain S-Rank and that amplification villain himself was an S-Rank villain already. As such full lethal force was authorized in the battle."

"That does make sense even if I am not a fan of that." Adrien said. "We are taught not to kill after all."

"Agreed and for the most part we as heroes can avoid it but back then it was necessary." Ben said. "The amplifier himself was killed in the battle which helped but, well, because of the authorization Boom got way to fast with her Quirk and, well, she killed plenty of villains and at least 4 heroes."

"Wait what?" Adrien said his eyes wide. "She committed friendly fire?"

"Yup and even under the circumstances that wasn't allowed, it's never allowed and is an instant revocation of a hero license if the hero is found to be at fault for it." Ben said. "In the aftermath she was taken in for a hearing on it and showed no remorse simply saying that she did as she was allowed, and it wasn't her fault heroes had died getting in her way."

"That's not much of a defense." Adrien said.

"It actually can be if you can prove that the friendly fire was unavoidable, and the other hero was at fault but in her case it was clear that her lack of control was what caused it." Ben said. "And, well, that didn't go over well, and with the evidence against her they quickly deemed her guilty of misuse of her powers and yanked her provisional along with expelling her from the school and banning her from ever obtaining a hero license. Course that was just the start, they also charged her with 4 counts of involuntary manslaughter, so she was looking at about 20 years behind bars for her actions."

"Ah I can see how that would make anyone flip out." Adrien said. "Well, anyone with that kind of mentality at least."

"Oh, it did more than that." Ben said with a sigh. "For whatever reason they felt that she was contained by pros who had escorted her to her hearing, but they didn't restrain her as it was a hearing and, well, once they made their ruling she applauded them for it."

"Er…" Adrien said thinking about the Quirk this girl was supposed to have. "But with her Quirk…"

"Yeah the mistake in that hearing has led to some serious changes such as mandatory restraints when the hearing is to determine hero license status if the hero or student in question has a Quirk that needs restraint should that person be a villain." Ben said. "And, well, she blew apart half the American equivalent of the HPSC killing 5 more pros along with several members of the HPSC disciplinary board and 38 civilians as she fled. Before you ask, the 9 pros she's killed by this point are not the same as the dozen or so that she's killed as an officially wanted villain so she's responsible for the deaths of over 20 heroes at least making her one of the worst hero killers in recent history."

"And that's when she became one of the most wanted and the Guardians got involved." Adrien deduced. "Someone like that needs to be brought in right away."

"Partially." Ben said. "I was here but the fact that I knew her really didn't help and pissed me off, but I couldn't do anything as I was joining the Guardian Agency here and she'd not left America, so she was deemed a fugitive in America and instantly on their 10 most wanted after what she did but until she left the country she wasn't a Guardian issue."

"Right because she's still within American borders." Adrien said. "And as an American who committed crimes in America she's not subject to Guardian jurisdiction."

"Yup so we had to wait until she left the country to get involved, or better yet that the heroes in America caught her." Ben said. "Unfortunately, they couldn't and for 2 years she recruited followers who were disillusioned with the hero world, mainly senior failures from T5 schools who were stronger than the average villain, to launch a coup against the American hero system but she was stopped before then and her forces devastated. As a result, she fled with her number 2, a man who can trap you in a nightmare by making eye contact with him, and a handful of followers and went south."

"You mentioned Caracas, so she ended up in Venezuela then." Adrien said.

"Eventually but she carved a path of destruction through central America first as she fled via land." Ben said. "That's when we got on her case and all our agencies there were on high alert, but she slipped the nets we set up for her first in Mexico City and then again in San Salvador, both with massive fatalities, before we managed to get a good shot at her in Caracas. The Air Guardian runs the Buenos Aries based agency but has full say over South America, so he went there to take her in, but she again escaped though we got her number 2 in the process as a consolation prize of sorts. He's on death row in America for his crimes."

"But she managed to get away." Adrien said.

"Correct and she went south again, we even got another chance at her in Santiago when she popped up there but failed again." Ben said. "Her habit of basically going scorched earth, well booming earth as she doesn't cause fire unless it's inadvertent, the moment she's recognized, and her detection is top level helped her evade capture."

"You'd think with all these sightings she'd slip up." Adrien said. "Or could be tracked afterwards."

"Problem was that she'd go so extreme that she'd get before we could." Ben said. "Then she'd go to ground for a while but eventually she'd resurface as a hired killer for villain groups going after heroes and the commissions behind them so we'd get another chance at her, but it would never end well. Also, in that part of the world, she caused a few civil wars in the wake of her actions that we had to intervein in to quell as we were responsible. As such, by the time Chile was under control she was long gone, and she didn't resurface until we got a break in Indonesia recently."

"That's good, right?" Adrien said.

"It was because she was actually near a Guardian for the first time since Santiago, and we decided to go for a funnel approach." Ben said. "Our past attempts had failed, and no one has eluded us for as long as she has, 8 years now give or take, so she'd really embarrassed us, and we needed to capture her as soon as possible. In that vein we funneled her towards Singapore as best we could."

"Why Singapore?" Adrien asked.

"Because it was the best place to capture her as that is where our main Agency in the area is." Ben said. "Plus, it wasn't hard seeing as Singapore is a wealthy city state, and she didn't really have much to do in Indonesia, so she had to go there or Australia but as Australia is an island she'd have less ways to flee if cornered so we managed to force her to surface in Singapore. That was last month and the Guardian of Darkness who runs the Singapore office had her cornered."

"That sounds like it should be a good thing." Adrien said. "A subtler way to get her if you've got that kind of Guardian on hand to apprehend her."

"It would be but, well, Umbra, that's the Darkness Guardian, isn't what you'd call stereotypical when it comes to the nature of darkness." Ben said. "I've never met her, though I hear that she's strikingly attractive, but where you'd think darkness would be quiet and subtle in how it works, she's not. Mage has described her as being as subtle as a sledgehammer to the face."

"So not at all." Adrien said with a slight wince at that idea.

"Not even close and her weapon of choice is actually a one-handed war hammer, so it is a rather apt analogy for her." Ben said. "So yeah she has a habit of being reckless when she gets involved in a fight, but she is also one of only two Guardians who can run the Singapore office, and it's important enough to merit one at all times, so she has to be there especially as the other potential Guardian currently runs the London office so can't replace her. Thankfully she understood that there was a need to be subtle in this situation and stayed out of the apprehension raid."

"Clever but it didn't work." Adrien said. "Or else we'd not be here."

"No, it didn't because even with our best-efforts Boom got wind of it and again she blasted her way out of the situation." Ben said. "But this time we actually got a tracker on one of her underlings and as she was headed north towards China and possibly Japan given what's going on here Mage was contacted. He had the idea to send someone who specialized in stealth and tracking after her to keep tabs and then act if she came to Japan. She did and so here we are."

"Why is she here though?" Adrien asked. "What brought her to Japan of all places?"

"I don't know, and I doubt she's aware that an actual Guardian is based here right now or else she might not have come." Ben said. "Perhaps the sidekick can…"

Before Ben could finish there was a ringing sound from the central console in the room showing that it could take calls as well as well as being used as a projector. Adrien was confused by that, but Ben reached out and hit a button on it and the image flickered to show the upper body of Fei and as she was moving it was clearly a video call though given the way the console was set up she was looking at Adrien only and didn't seem to be able to change where she was looking.

"Adrien, good to see I can easily reach you as you and that American sidekick are the ones I need to contact as Mage said he'd send you to me when I needed you." Fei said, she hadn't noticed anyone else in the room it seemed, so she was just addressing Adrien at the moment. "I presume that sidekick, BB if I recall the name Mage used, is with you as I was told to contact this thing by Mage when it became clear that I needed you two to come and join me and I do."

"Yes I have Ben, the male half of that sidekick, with me so what's the situation?" Adrien asked as he noticed that Ben was just listening to it without interrupting as there clearly wasn't a need for him to do so. "Has the fugitive stopped long enough to capture?"

"It would appear so." Fei said with a nod. "She has reached a safe house on the outskirts of the city of Fukui and is lying low it seems. There isn't a high wester population here so likely she's gone to ground for that reason as she awaits contact with someone from the Meta Liberation Army as that is why she's in Japan, she's seeking to join forces with them. I can intercept that contact and delay it, but I need you and whoever is looking after you to get here ASAP. I'll take care of accommodations and what not, but you need to get moving. We likely only have a small window to catch her, I don't want to waste it."

"Understood." Adrien said looking to Ben who nodded at him. "We'll be on our way as soon as possible. I'll contact you as soon as we are near."

"Good." Fei said before it switched off.

"So, to Fukui then, that's not a convenient location by any routes other than air so I need to get authorization for a charter plane but given who we are going after it shouldn't be too hard." Ben said getting up. "Gab your go bag and meet me in the lobby in an hour as it should take me that long to sort out the travel and we should be in Fukui within 3 hours of that. I recognized that sidekick her as Fei, she's a senior sidekick that I mentioned earlier with special S-Rank clearances, one who reports directly to Mage so it's good to have her on our side."

"I know, she's Mage's TA at U.A." Adrien said as he got up. "So, I've met her once or twice. She's highly skilled and competent."

"You have to be to make it here and if she serves a Guardian directly than she's proven it already." Ben said. "I'll do the travel and planning; this isn't Beth's forte but when it comes to the raid she'll be out for it. You need to change though, travel in street clothes to avoid giving away your connections to U.A. We're both too western for this but there are enough expats for it to just about work."

"Of course." Adrien said understanding what Ben was getting at. "I hope we can catch this person now."

"Same." Ben said darkly. "She gives all heroes and Americans a bad name so Beth and I will do all we can to apprehend her."

Adrien could tell that the man meant it and smiled at that, it was a good sign and as this was his first big mission as a work study student without Mage or Marinette by his side he wanted to do his best at it. He'd help capture this fugitive and bring her to justice, he knew it. That was his conviction as he left the room and headed to his own to grab his travel bag and change before he headed out as Adrien's own opening second work study mission began.

Well Adrien is now set on his own work study mission and on his way to try and apprehend this fugitive. For anyone wondering, Boom is an OC villain created just for this arc, but she is, power wise, based off a character called Amber Dixon from the Super Powereds series similar to how BB is also based off one of those characters. This is done more to flesh out a bit of BB's OC backstory for whenever one of them is present while also giving some expanded context on how the American system might work which as y'all can guess I've taken liberties with. As with the OCs, that system is based off the one in Super Powereds mainly because Super Powereds is the closest thing I've found to a western version of MHA though it is set in college and not high school and death/killing in the field is much more common and under certain circumstances allowed. As such I've borrowed that system to use for the American system, at least at the top level which is what it is based off, for this series. This will really be the only time it is mentioned however so it won't play any role in the series, it was just needed to add some context and backstory to Adrien's mission during this arc. Anyway, that is all that I have for y'all so I will leave this chapter off here, next up is the mission as Adrien, Fei, and BB try to capture one of America's most wanted villains before she can join up with Paranormal Liberation Front. As always, if you like it or have any questions please let me know in reviews or PMs, I will try to answer them as best I could and post any questions asked between uploads at the start of the next chapter and do follow and favorite this, so you are alerted to future uploads. Do keep the reviews coming as I like hearing from y'all as you enjoy my work, it motivates me to keep producing the best work I can for y'all to enjoy. Until next time.
