Chapter 13: Strawberry Panic
/
Stuff of Cee – lo inspiration. May become song fic chapter for the bit I'm putting, as in couples. Not just the power couple but Cy and Bee, or even Roy and Cheshire.

"You think we should…."
Kori was afraid to burst with excitement as the heroes stayed on their three-way call.
"Gar brought it up with Raven, Wally just... –
"Oh! But, we must! The couples will all be "the present!" She chimed in, her chirping voice something that Dick had long missed while being so far from his soul mate. "I shall need to go get "the baskets" and…"
She counted on this being more; as Dick would finally say it in the park. Bruce was more than all for, but there was one thing that made him feel a bit concerned when Dick said it the second time.
And the third.
He ran, like a kid he ran and ran back and forth between his heart's desires and what HAD to be.
Being a hero, for one.
Kori was the kid's heart and soul in more than how they worked in perfect sync. He was…. well, Dick was something of a –
~I would like to very well propose that we; the Titans and their "couples" do not leave out the newest allies! It will –
"Be a disaster, Kori." Dick stopped at the idea of inviting in trouble with a giant "T."
"Oh, it cannot!" She protested. "We are very safe inside and out of the tower. Even Little Haley " gnorfkinla" has been very, very good to her "Gnorfka!" Have you not been, my dear sweetest one?" Haley the pup barked and licked Kori's face as she was cradled. Never too big for a mini - pitty to be, while Kori was as powerful as Superman by her creed. Dick could not frown, so let Cy know on the other end of the line. "We'll be there. Should I bring the drinks this time?"
~I think I'll let you, cause…~
~New Years? ~ Raven rolled her eyes. Gar snickered from the side while Cassie and Reyes of Blue Beetle shrugged and wanted to know their senior's dirt.
"We had such a "ball?"
"It was a long time ago…" Dick cleared his throat. "Let's make this an annual thing if it goes well. Sound good, Kori?"
" Woof!"
"You too, Hales." Dick smiled as his family…had never been this close in a long time.
Yet, time. Slade wasn't wrong. He'd patched up things and it was exactly like he and Addie. They'd never stopped chatting. Stopped knowing they had kids to care for….and yet…
Dick would not be gutting bad guys like a merc once….
Once…
He turned red and turned for the bathroom.
Wash up! It was way too soon for that!

Andrew had a thought, and then it grew as his lover came to bed in only his boxers that night.
"Thinking about the fight, sweetheart?" Andy pulled the lug down on top of him as they got ready to get more comfortable. "I'm thinking about upgrading my suit. It's durable…but I wanna feel the wind at my back." He grabbed Andy's cheeks, cock pulled out with a free palm as the lovely coupling could only last for tonight.
"Did... Ung... Go slow…. the new…. ah…couple…...see, you..."
"Did…. they see you?" Panted back the larger dominant partner of this dual – sided relationship.
"No…. I…was looking for you… ang! Damn it…so harsh, babe…." Andy was sweating. He'd not been loved like this in a while. Minus the role playing. Or the toys.
"Don't worry…" The harsher the slide, the more Andy wanted it deeper still. His moan was low and more than made the other as wet as he'd wanted. "I only have eyes for you. Don't forget who owns this ass!"

Dick and Kori also had their spark returning to them for days, plus the protection that would eventually wane once…once…
Dick had a dream after the two had lain in their new bed, the sweet scent of fuchsia and jasmine shampoo keeping him in his height of a REM cycle.
It was about a child. A girl with dark hair and green eyes like her mother. Something about that kid made his heart burst to want, but…
Kori was a model. He was a cop and a hero undercover to BE the one in charge of keeping the peace of an entire city.
His boss was up his rear end as much as Starfire was to pay attention; he had a relationship in each that was ideally important to thrive by, to live by a code.
Love and honor, a movie epic…
His cell read ten and the day was a weekend up till their first time in the new apartment. She was overjoyed to pick the furniture and wallpaper out, but the kitchen?
All off limits as he jumped to be there first.
Right now, strawberries.
Flour, gluten or no? That was the question.
Was she a vegan? Play it safe? Did eggs or fish count.
Damn…out of milk? Use the other stuff, water was fine for pancake mix, right?
He got to work with the griddle, keeping to the recipe, mostly as Kori slept in today. She had a day, he had a day. It was May and one thing that Dick wanted to do…
Was treat her well, for one to be expecting.
He'd stayed, they'd talked. It only got more intense as the days ripped out his heart to hand to her, open palms.
And right as the flap jacks had been ready to flip!
/
He got it all ready. Today was the day, days more if he kept his promise.
The tray and plates were set out as he carried it with grace and dexterous competence to the couple's love nest.
This little blue bird was up for a serenade to his beloved, but damn…it was just so…
She turned on her side and took the pillows in closer.
Dick swerved with the tray to not be seen.
She was supposed to be awake, Kori never…
He blinked.
"Kor? Are you ok?"
"Just…a bit tired…"
He saw the signs and gaped at the similarities.
"Kori…don't….did we?"
She sat up, hair a mess, eyes wide.
" X'aal!!"
/
"We'll know the result in a few seconds, right?" Dick bombarded the drug store personnel from behind the counter – begging them to answer that big question.
"You look tense, sir. It's only –
"She….she and I –
"I can't predict the results myself." Snipped the pharmacist. "Just take a few tests to the register and see what pops up. Make an appointment with her doctor and don't come crying back if you didn't bother to use the right protection."
/
He tapped his fingers against the booth's table. It was ok, in theory, but this soon?? Kori was not even showing so…would she –
"Dick?"
He turned to her, bags showing vividly below his blue eyes. Hers were flawless, even while her stress was better masked. "Am I not…."the expecting" –
"We…won't know yet, Kori." Dick ran a hand through his hair. Instead of breakfast in bed, they'd had lunch at a local diner, waffles. She looked to want a few different things besides mustard as a topping. Would it be that big a deal?
And she was so sure of the combo, that after four bites, Koriander went right to the rest room to regurgitate the meal altogether.
"Is she alright, hon?" The waitress; in her mid fifties, looked over to Dick as he had nothing to add, only to mask his current worry with a sigh.
"We…are not……she needed to come here, I'm sorry."
"Oh. You look like you've been drownin' in the river." The elder woman shook her head. "She needs you to get home? Any coffee, hon?"
"If it can be low caff…yeah, I have to be careful though." He chuckled.
A moment later, the waitress was back. "On the house." She'd gone to get her pot and winked at the expecting papa bear as his cup was filled. "Take care of yourself."
/
Starfire was in the next room as he paced, not yet ready to tell another soul. He'd have to. As a hero, she had a responsibility to her work. He, to his.
"Dick!"
"Was is it??"
"No, not this one either…there are just four more to go, I am very sorry for startling you…"
" Unm…." Dick threw his head back and tried to contain himself. "We can do this. No slime monsters, super villains or demons from another world have stopped you or I from living, so don't worry…" He crouched to her side and held her hands in his, the pregnancy test a big zero as his fingers mentally stayed crossed. "I've got you, Star."
/
Two more to go, and his eyes were shutting.
"Dick!"
He sat up, drool on his lip as he wiped it, trying to stay awake.
"Wha…..did –
"It is….the right."
"Oh….no…no. is….that….." His eyes got wide, her smile bigger, tears at the corner of her eyes.
"Yes….yes it is!!" She leaped into his arms as he leaned back, they laughed. Now it was official.
"We are going to be the "parents!!" Oh! I am the most excited for this!! Are you not also, with me??"
"Always, and I can't say no….this is….a baby?? I can't even talk I'm so happy….I…love you, Kor…." He took her lips and they kissed, love blooming in that one room away from home.
"Star…." He whispered and pulled away slowly, the space so close between them. Breath as one.
"Dick….I…..have waited for you to tell me….I too love you to the universe and above….So, stay? Tonight? Do not go…"
"I…" Dick realized it.
Patrol, and Nightwing.
His second love.
Just then, he felt unworthy.
"I….can't. I have to go. I'm sorry….but I won't be gone longer than an hour. I promise…" He held her hands with a light squeeze, the test on the mat in their tiny bathroom reading a positive reaction to this negative outcome.
"I won't leave you again, I'll take off as long as you need. Just say the word. Tonight, though." He gulped and unglued himself from her embrace. "The city needs, Nightwing."
